Idea: the dark sides all have venom.

Virgil's venom is the funnel web spider venom, specifically, the Sydney Funnel Web Spider. The venom has a neurotoxin component that attacks the human nervous system and can result in death if the victim doesn't get the antivenom soon enough. Funnily enough, though, only the male of this specific species of Funnel Web spiders have the venom, and this particular breed was the cause of ALL funnel web spider bite deaths, until the antivenom was introduced in 1981. Their size varies from 1 cm - 5 cm body length, and the males are a little smaller than the females. The color of this little critter varies from black to dark brown but the hard carapace covering the front part of the body is always sparsely haired and glossy.

Janus' is the Inland Taipan (more commonly known as the western taipan) venom. This guy is dark tan, ranging from a rich, dark hue to a brownish light-green, depending on season, and its venom is the most toxic out of all other snake venoms, including sea snakes, so, yikes! The venom can cause paralysis or muscle weakness, kidney failure and a whole bunch of other nasty stuff, some of which can't even be resolved with the antivenom and requires other treatments.

And, obviously, we can't forget Remus.

The Blue Ringed Octopus. Smaller than a 50 cent coin, these deadly suckers flash blue rings around their suckers when threatened, and their venom can kill you in 30 minutes when not treated. THe venom basically paralyzes you. You can't move, can't breathe, can't talk, NOTHING. So, if you don't compress that bite with a tight tight wrap-around and get medical attention quick, you're dead! There's no antivenom, either, mainly because the venom forms due to chemical reactions within the octopus itself.

I just think he’s neat.

A lil screenshot redraw. I’ll be honest, Janus and Remus are my favs, but if I had to pick one… I think I’d go with Remus tbh. Him as a character means a lot to me, because it’s helped me come to terms with my own intrusive thoughts. Majority of the time when I have an intrusive thought I just think “what if the little rat man just whispered that to me or something,” and it makes it easier to cope with.
