God I just heard about Akira Toriyama's death (He died March 1st) and it's a bit upsetting....Dragonball and Chrono Trigger were a big part of my childhood and teen years.

Toa Goku
I've been really low energy recently, but I've wanted to make *something* as a tribute to Toriyama, so I did a quick build of Goku as a Toa
Dragon Ball has touched so many other genres of media, so it feels appropriate here

I’m not the greatest at verbalizing loss. I already posted a memorial to Akira Toriyama-Sensei, but I also wanted to do my own little tribute to him. Goku was the first anime character I ever drew, almost 30 years ago now. Dragonball is also where I created my first fan OC “Razlen” almost 27 years ago. Though my OC has gone through a lot of designs over the decades.
Toriyama-Sensei’s work taught me a lot and inspired much of my early work and his influence can still be found in my art today. I used to practice so hard to try to be able to draw just like him, until I learned to start working toward my own style.
I wish I’d gotten to meet him, to tell him how much his work meant to me and how it inspired me to take up a pencil and learn to draw.
For now, all I can do is offer some bumbling words, and my own little artistic tribute. Toriyama-Sensei, you taught me so much as a kid, so I present Goku teaching my OC as a kid. You will be dearly missed. Rest in Peace.

Rest in peace Toriyama-Sensei
Thankyou for making our childhood golden, it wouldn't have been the same without you. You inspired millions of people with your works. You laid the foundation of most of the mangas and animes today, without you the anime industry wouldn't have become what it is today .You are the creator of the hero of millions of children, so thankyou again for everything you did.
And even though you are no longer with us, you will keep living on in our hearts. Thankyou for all those precious moments you gave us. You and your work will never be forgotten, for legends never die... and you are the legend for us all, the greatest mangaka there ever was, a glorious man and an inspiration to many.

I genuinely wish that the seven dragon balls existed so I can collect all of them and summon Shenron and make a wish. Rest in Peace, Akira Toriyama-sensei. You will live on in our hearts.
