This week's game recommendations are all about piloting mechs, for victory, for love, for glory and for money.

Last Shooting, by My Name is Grant.
Two pilots can change your destiny. Two massive war machines can change your future. Two players can share the happiness.
Last Shooting is a 2-player RPG that uses a unique system to tell stories about Mech battles. Using a customized version of the Final Bid engine, Last Shooting builds the characters and defines them more sharply during each scene of play. Then, it gives you the power to destroy any of those aspects to propel yourself to victory.
This game is excellent for a one-shot session with one other friend. The game uses a bidding system that requires you to bid elements of your character sheet for a chance to win in each scene, and the game is over after three scenes. It's great for couples looking to roleplay together, or perhaps for that night where most of the group cancels, but you still want to play something.
24XX Goliath by Brick Road Games.
24 YEARS AGO OTHERWORLDLY INVADERS DEVASTATED THE PLANET. To defend ourselves from the monstrous Leviathan, experimental technology was used to create massive mecha called Goliaths. Since the war ended most Goliaths were re-purposed for civilian use. Now, the Leviathans have returned, stronger than before. Pilots from all walks of life are being drafted to fight back.
This is your standard 24XX micro-game, complete with roll tables and quick character generation. This game was inspired by Pacific Rim, Neon Genesis Evangelion, and the Xeno series, so if you are looking to emulate those pieces of media, this might be the fit for you.

One last journey across an ancient battleground to find a pilot's final resting place.
ECH0 is a game for 3 or more players, about children escorting a mech pilot's ghost to their final resting place. This is a pick-up-and-play game, which means that it requires very little prep and is over after one session. It is a GM-less map-drawing game, and is perfect as a game on its own, but might also work as an interesting set-up story for a mech-themed campaign. The concept for this game is also great for exploring the idea of grief and loss for something or someone that you never really knew.

Dragon's Fire is a game designed from the Together We Go toolkit, a game system designed and inspired from OSR-style games. It's meant to be rules-lite, easy-to-learn, with only a few stats to track and improve. Right now it's not a full game, but the core rules have been released for just over $1 USD. If you're a fan of OSR games and you want a chance to play as mechs in a setting inspired by the Dragon's Heaven anime, this might be the game for you!
Mectors by Chubby Crow Games.
After the war, thousands upon thousands of bipedal mechanized fighting vehicles (or “Bimechs”) were left scattered across the land. Many were brought back to the capital cities to be repaired or scrapped, but the majority of them were too damaged to be easily transported. With the war won, the victors simply left their mechanical refuse in the battlefields to rust and wither. 
Across the nations, in communities that had lost great numbers of working folk, these Bimechs replaced rudimentary tractors and mining equipment. Nobody knows who was the first to call them “Mectors”, but the name caught on and spread. The war ended over a century ago, and while the world still bears its scars, it has also healed. The capital cities still skirmish from time to time, but those fights rarely extend into the farmlands and mines of the common folk.
In Mectors, players take on the role of a farmer, miner, fisher, carpenter, or some other worker in a labor intensive field. Mector Owners come from all kinds of backgrounds. Some own a Mector that’s been in their family for generations. Others came across theirs recently, through purchase or luck. And a rare few have managed to piece their own together using scraps from decommissioned Mectors, but this is even harder than it sounds. No matter how they got it, they now have a powerful tool with a long history.
This is a game designed off of the Charge System, which takes a lot of cues from Forged in the Dark. The designer already has a few supplements released for the game: a Heartland supplement which can be downloaded for free from the main page, and a Steeper Talent Tree that provides some extra character options. This is a game that allows you to take the idea of mechs and view it through an alternate lens: a high-tech version of "beating your swords into plowshares," if you will. For the concept alone, I think it's worth checking out.
Beam Saber by Austin Ramsey
Centuries after humanity abandoned a rotting Earth, blighted by their follies, the Izyan Conflict's seeds sprouted deep in space as plans unfurled.
The Exodus ships fled humanity’s decaying cradle in varying states of quality and completion. Ships failed, were raided or cannibalized, and jettisoned all but the essentials. History, art, and play all fell in the face of necessity. Those that survived found planets to land on, settle, and fight over across the known regions of space. The evacuation left a vacuum of power, but not for long.
After the Exodus, five Factions rose to power—and thus, The War began.
Beam Saber is a Forged In The Dark game about the pilots of powerful machines in a war that dominates every facet of life. They are trying to do their part, then get out physically and mentally intact. The organizations that perpetuate The War throughout all of known space are too incomprehensibly huge to take down. There is no “winning” The War, there is only surviving it. Hopefully you can help others get out too.
This is a game for folks who like Forged in the Dark games, especially games that manage a large number of factions. Each player has their own Pilot playbook, but they will also need to build a vehicle (possibly more than one if they need a replacement or something temporary). Then they'll build a squad playbook, which like a Crew in Blades in the Dark, is something that the group will build together. This is a game that prioritizes fiction, but doesn't lag behind when it comes to lore; you'll get your role-play, your rules, and your rich history, all in one book. (And even more resources besides!)
Lancer by Massif Press
Lancer imagines a future where a survivor humanity has spread to the stars after weathering terrible ecological collapse on Earth - the end of the Anthropocene as a consequence of unrestrained consumption and poor stewardship. Thousands of years later, humanity lives in the wake of a desperate revolution, one where the victorious radicals now manage the galaxy they've won.  
Lancer is truly prolific in what it holds. On the one hand, you have an incredibly streamlined system for narrative role play when you look at pilot creation: your pilot takes four descriptive stats that they'll use to navigate anything and everything they'll interact with outside of their mech. Pilot play is narrative and rules-lite. On the other hand, you have an incredibly stat-heavy and detailed system for mech combat: your mech-driven missions will require grid maps, strategy, and teamwork in order to be successful. It's up to your table how much play is pilot-driven and how much is mech-driven.
Then there's the resources. The core book in the title link has everything you need to run a Lancer game. However, if you're looking for the resources to make a character, there's a free version of the rules, an app where you can keep your character information, and a series of supplements (both official and third-party) to incorporate into your games.
If you like lore, you'll find it in Lancer, but not all in one place. The Core book has a lore section but you'll find lore in the Mech descriptions, in the core bonuses, and in the pilot talents. There's so much to learn about the world of Lancer, and if you're curious enough, you'll find out just how complex this far-flung future truly is.

Who else was wishing they were at Radio 1′s Big Weekend and not stuck at home this past weekend? Good thing you can pretend you were in the crowd thanks to their YouTube channel! 
I have been listening to this new single by James Arthur since it came out earlier this month and while I wait for the day I see him live, this video from Big Weekend will have to do. Since the release of Back from the Edge in 2016, I’ve been keeping my tabs on Arthur and what he’s been up to. From his collaborations with the likes of Marshmello/Juicy J, Rudimental, Machine Gun Kelly, Martin Jensen and my personal favorite, his duet with Anne-Marie for The Greatest Showman: Reimagined, Arthur has been killing it. 
His latest single, Falling like the Stars, is a perfect example of the music Arthur’s meant to be making - a tender love song. We all know I’m a sucker for an acoustic guitar and a man talking about his emotions but that aside, there’s no denying that he isn’t completely in his element when he’s crooning. Arthur recently said it himself in an interview with iHeart Radio regarding his new album that “The core of the album has got that classic James Arthur acoustic, honest thing going on”. Arthur definitely has proved to us over time that he can lend himself to various genres but when it comes down to it - there’s nothing he does better than stripping it down to the basics with some soul stirring lyrics. 
I’ll definitely be looking forward to the release of his new album which no doubt will make us all feel some type of way.

RP Log: Cravendy and Lin whittle the time away. @lettersnorth
Cravendy Hound sits on the balcony with an assortment of knick knacks spread around her. All kinds of wood, with and without bark, as well as knives of different sizes and shapes. She takes in a deep breath as she leans back against the railing, practically melting in the warm sun. But no matter how relaxing this might be, little worries spring up like weeds in the back of her mind...will Lin join her today? Did she get her note, and will she know how to get here?
Cravendy Hound groans. Brain, hurry up and remember how to loosen up.
Aislinn North It had taken Aislinn a moment to work out Cravendy's note, particularly in regards to where she would be setting up. This balcony at the back of Heartwood's grounds was tucked away and unless a person frequented the spot it was easy to remember it existed at all. Barring that, the woman also had been juggling a lot recently, both in mind and body. Though things with Cravendy had smoothed out somewhat, 1/2
Aislinn North she held an inkling of nervous energy as she made her way out to the balcony. If anything, this should take her mind off other matters for a time. "Alright, then?" she asked as she arrived. "Almost forgot this existed." 2/2
Cravendy Hound jumps slightly on Lin’s approach, and then turns to watch as she steps up the ladder and onto the balcony. She blinks - what is there to be so cautious about? They’re here to enjoy the daylight and carve some wood, simple as that. Cravs nods to herself, and then tries to smile at the other woman. It looks more like she’s baring her fangs.
Cravendy Hound: “Nice place. Secluded, and the view is ‘ard to beat, though if the wind becomes too much we oughta pack up our things and move indoors. But it’s good right now.” She picks up a rod of wood and a knife, and begins to scrape away ribbons without a moment's hesitation. Then she remembers why Lin came. “......Oh, right. ‘Ere, let me show ye.”
Cravendy Hound hands Lin a piece of wood. “It’s pretty simple. Carve away from yer ‘ands, and go with or across the grain. Why don’t ye give it a shot?”
Aislinn North At Cravendy's insistence she leaned down and took the block of wood being offered. After a quick study of the tools the Seawolf had spread out, Aislinn picked up one of the work worn carving knives. It was obviously a well-used tool and therefore likely to be a good one by Aislinn's thinking. She watched Cravendy a moment and then, ever the mockingbird, began to emulate her. Needless to say, Cravendy made it look much easier than it was. 1/2
Aislinn North Aislinn's knife kept snagging but she was nothing if not patient. "What sort of things do you carve?" asked idly as she hacked away at her poor block of wood. 2/2
Cravendy Hound: “Mostly small figures, like birds. Sometimes eatin’ utensils, if I feel like makin’ somethin’ that’ll be of some use. I don’t really think about it until I’m ‘olding the wood and knife in my hand.” Cravs carefully digs into her piece again, whittling another curl of material away. So far, she was lacking in inspiration, but it was satisfying regardless.
Cravendy Hound eyes what Lin is doing to her block with a grimace, but doesn’t comment on it...directly. “Maybe ye can start with somethin’ simple. A spoon, or a ‘air pin?”
Aislinn North Aislinn paused, glancing at Cravendy over the rim of her glasses. "So you don't actually know what you're going to carve until you're already carving?" For someone like Lin, the idea that there were no blueprints, no schematics, no advanced planning was almost an anathema. In her experience going along with her intuition and acting in the moment only got her into trouble.
Aislinn North Better that everything be carefully thought out and planned for. The exception being, in the heat of a fight, of course. Even then a good strategist should be able to foresee most possibilities and plan for them.
Cravendy Hound: “Yeah,” she answers nonchalantly. It, of course, sometimes led to her sharpening the wood into a simple spike or creating something equally unplanned, but for her, the point was to go with the flow. Cravs looks at her half-carved piece of wood with a hum.
Cravendy Hound shrugs. “No right or wrong way about it. I wouldn’t think too ‘ard about it...and if ye mess up, the wood shavings make good firestarter.”
Aislinn North Right. Aislinn gamely continued on in her endeavor but it was clear the woman was better with a firearm than a blade. And as much as Cravendy said not to think too hard about it, Aislinn had already decided what would be the best course of action. "A spoon can't be too hard, right?" she murmured, almost to herself as she concentrated on trying to steer the knife smoothly down the block. A comfortable sort of quiet settled between the women as they worked.
(Cravendy Hound) fdskjlf for some reason...I'm imagining Lin's spoon to be dual purpose in some way )) (Cravendy Hound) spoon end, and...stabby end is a thought xD )) (Aislinn North) ((She'll end up inventing the spork in Eorzea)) (Cravendy Hound) omg yES ))
Cravendy Hound lifts her work-in-progress up to the light. The curves cut out from it remind her of a fish, and she decides to keep going with it. Without realizing it, she begins to sing - a whisper of a song that is almost lost in the wind. It starts and ends without ever registering in her memory, and afterwards she grins at Lin.
Cravendy Hound: “The woods are nice when they aren’t sendin’ bees or other nasty buggers yer way. Feels...too nice, sometimes. A salty old dog like me is used to a lot worse.”
Aislinn North Her head bent over her work, Aislinn is lost in the minute details of blade against wood until Cravendy's lilting song quietly fills the air. Blinking, she lifted her head in surprise. She never pegged the woman as the type to sing. Though now she wasn't exactly sure why that would be. Sailors sang all the time, didn't they? But what Cravendy said seemed to flummox her even more. "The woods sent bees after you?" she halted as the realization came to her. 1/2
Aislinn North "Ohh. The Shroud. Aye, it can be touchy." she ran a jerky blade down her block of wood once more. "What did you do? I mean, to annoy it?" she clarified. 2/2
Cravendy Hound sucks in air through gritted teeth, and a light blush spreads over her face. “Oh, I don’t know...ye know. The Elementals are very, uh, mysterious.” She then slices away at her wood and, flustered, accidentally takes off a large chunk of the fish’s tail. Damnit. It’s starting to look more like an eel.
Cravendy Hound: “Okay, I’ll come clean. Ye know ‘ow I was practicin’ my aim, but I kept ‘ittin’ the trees instead of the target? I kept doin’ that and...I mean, that could be it.” She presses her lips tightly together. “Maybe.”
Aislinn North: The roundabout answer had Aislinn suppressing a small smile. It sounded as though Cravendy knew exactly what she had done. Aislinn wasn't going to press the issue but she didn't have to, either. Her face lit with silent laughter in the light of Cravendy's confession. 1/2
Aislinn North "Aye, I may have done that once or twice. Learned my lesson though. If I'm going out there in the wilds and not to the range, I'll pack my stunning ammo and a little target node instead. Seems to annoy the Shroud less that way. Or. ..at least I haven't got chased out since doing it that way." she paused in her work and looked Cravendy over. "Glad to see you don't look any worse for wear though. Looks like it was just a polite warning." 2/2
Cravendy Hound grimaces further as she recalls the swarm of bugs and plants that chased her from Peacegarden all the way to Hrystmill. “To be ‘onest, I probably would’ve been carried off by the buggers and thrown into the sun if it weren’t for..er. What was ‘is name...” Cravs waves her knife around, as if the physical motion of twisting her wrist would get the cogs in her head going. “Uhh, some mailman who goes by ‘Windy’ or somethin’. He got the worst of it off my back.”
Cravendy Hound: “Stun ammo...I’ll ‘ave to find some for myself. Don’t want a repeat incident.”
Aislinn North Aislinn had to stop her carving. If she hadn't she was liable to slip and make a bloody mess of one of her fingers. Her shoulders shook from the effort to keep her laughter quiet and contained. "So. ..let me make sure I understand. You were chased off your target practice by a swarm of bees. And then. ..saved by a mailman named 'Windy'. Out in the wilds of the Shroud. A mailman." she could do little more than shake her head. 1/2
Aislinn North "You do seem to end up in the oddest situations, Cravendy." 2/2
(Cravendy Hound) aaahahha xD )) (Cravendy Hound) it's gonna be hilarious when everything snaps into place )) (Aislinn North) ((assuming it ever does. But yes! xD)) (Cravendy Hound) it will!!! I'll make sure of it xD ))
Cravendy Hound nibbles the bottom of her lip. It was...an approximately accurate retelling of what had happened. Ridiculous, but maybe the bees in her hair had rattled her brain and shuffled her memory around. Swiving elementals. “Guy was as stiff as a board, but would say wild things with such ease. Claimed that ‘e could outrun a chocobo. Funny bastard, ‘ope I find ‘im again.”
Cravendy Hound is done carving her fish...eel...thing. Looking at it, you can’t quite tell what it is, though the swirling lines criss crossing over the wood are pleasing enough. She puts it down with a sigh. “I’m a fish out of water ‘ere, but it beats bein’ in Limsa or Ul'dah by a long shot.”
Aislinn North "Snorted "Supposin' if he could, he'd be the kind of mailman you'd want." she glanced down at Cravendy's work. She couldn't rightly say what it was but it was malms ahead of whatever she herself was doing. She looked down at her lap and picked up the block again. "I'm not gonna argue with you about Ul'dah. Neither one of us needs to step foot there. And Limsa. ..I can see why you might be avoiding it." she paused briefly. 1/2
Aislinn North Her block was beginning to resemble some sort of rudimentary spatula of some sort. Perhaps one drawn by a child. "Gridania just takes some getting used to, is all. It's...different." she shook her head. "It's not my favorite place either but there's good things about it." 2/2
Cravendy Hound looks over at Lin’s work, and then searches the array of tools scattered on the deck for one that has a small, curved blade at the tip. She picks it up and offers it to Lin. “This one is better for carvin’ out a ‘ole...so yer spoon is more spoon, and less spatula.”
Cravendy Hound then returns to crossing her arms, looking into the distance with a scowl on her face. She tells herself that by avoiding Limsa, she does everyone else a favor. With everything that had happened...No one wanted to itch that wound open again. But the truth is that she’s scared of what she’ll find. She’s not ready, not yet. But back to Gridania. “......The drinks’re good ‘ere, and that’s all I can ask for.”
Aislinn North She set aside her knife and took the proffered tool. "Right." she eyed the curve of the blade and then set to work. "And you know. ..when the bees aren't chasing you it can be downright pleasant." there may have been a facetious note to Aislinn's voice. She looked over at Cravendy with a brief smile. "Today's not a bad day, anyroads." she waved her tool out over the view the balcony provided, the sound of the wide river rushing below them. 1/2
Aislinn North "But I know what you mean. The forest can feel. ..confining. Closed in. It's not the wide ocean and it certainly isn't Gyr Abania." 2/2
Cravendy Hound: “I’m not pleasant, I’m...” Cravs trails off, her fire blowing out as quickly as it had flared up. Her days as a rough and tumble pirate were long behind her, despite it feeling like it was just yesterday. She snorts. “Bah.”
Cravendy Hound: “Never been to Gyr Abania.” She peers over at Lin, an assumption hanging in the air. She was Ala Mhigan, she probably went there all the time, right? But then again, Cravs was a Sea Wolf avoiding Limsa like the plague. “It seems...dry?”
Aislinn North "Ahh." Aislinn thought she understood now. "Well, the Shroud isn't exactly pleasant either. It has it's moments. That's all. Can still turn on you if you're not careful." She set down her knife. Maybe she'd ought to take stock and pause for a moment. "Dry's a good word for it." she nodded. "Though I haven't been back for..." she paused. Not since going to see the monks. She glanced away as a sadness seemed to settle over her, one she took an effort to shake off. 1/2
Aislinn North "Well, it's been more than a few moons. There's rivers and such but still. ..it's a dry, hard, beautiful place." 2/2
Aislinn North: "Maybe we wander that way one day. Just for a change of scenery."

“Walk Alone (f. Tom Walker)” by Rudimental
Back in January, English drum and bass band, Rudimental kicked off the new year with the release of their studio album, Toast To Our Differences.
Always known for their high profile and unique collaborations, this latest album is no different. From the Major Lazer and Anne-Marie song “Let Me Live” to the Macklemore and Jess Glynne assisted “These Days” there was a little something for any music fan – especially those of the up and coming Scottish singer-songwriter Tom Walker.
Walker jumped on the band’s single, “Walk Alone” that released ahead of the 2019 album in October of last year. “Walk Alone” is an uplifting song of comradery that assures you that although you may be walking “a lonely road, you will never walk alone”. And luckily for Rudimental they didn’t have to do this song alone either.
The band told Clash Music of the collaboration that, “This was one of the first tracks we wrote for this album. We had so many different artists vocal it and then Tom Walker came to the studio to try it out – he really brought the song to life. Tom’s voice is insane!”

Az ANTANTÉNUSZ mondóka megfejtése rovás- és ékjelek segítségével
Kedves Olvasóim!Az ANTANTÉNUSZ naphívogató gyermekversike megfejtésével kívánok Önöknek áldott húsvéti ünnepeket!
    Balatoni napkelte (Egry József festménye – irodalmijelen-hu)  Az Antanténusz hazánkban a legismertebb gyermek mondóka „kiolvasó vers”, kiszámolósdi. Általában értelmetlen halandzsa-szövegnek tartják. Forrásmegjelölés nélkül némely nyelvész szerint több európai nyelvben [pl. finn[1]] is előfordul.
  Bújj, bújj, zöld ág (Boldog, Pest-Pilis-Solt Kiskun vármegye)[2]
  Mások félrefordított latin eredetű versnek, vagy nemzetközileg elterjedt kiolvasónak, esetleg az indoeurópai számsor hangtanilag torzított alakjának tartják (mégcsak véletlenül sem eredeti magyar szövegnek).Ismertebb változata: Antanténusz, szórakaténusz, Szóraka-tiki-taka-alabala-bambusz(ka)!Némely íráskutató[3], forráshivatkozás nélkül van kutató ősi „sumer” imának tartja, amit egy ékiratos cserépről olvastak le, majd a XX. sz. elején fejtettek meg: Anta Dunguz, szur-raga Dunguz, szur-raga digi-daga ala-hala Bambúz = Kelj föl Dunguz, szülj reggelt Dunguz, Szülj reggelt, áradj, terjedj, vágjad, űzzed Bambuszt! Nagyjából ennyit közöl a wikipedia[4] e versikéről. Úgy tűnik a felsorolt érvek, vélemények sok igazságot tartalmaznak, ám pontos forrásmegjelölés nélkül ötletként értékelhetőek.Ez ösztökélt, hogy próbálkozzak a megfejtéssel, és utánanézzek, valóban értelmezhető-e mai magyar nyelven a mondóka első és második része. A szöveg további részének megfejtése ellen a nyelvérzékem tiltakozott, mert sok, az értelmezést már a kezdet-kezdetén félrevezető szót éreztem benne.
   Rábaközi madaras hímzés[5]Szőcs István, a nagyműveltségű kolozsvári tudós-újságíró véleménye volt a kiindulópont: „A népi gyerekdalok, mondókák kiszámoló-versikék érthetetlen szavai – nem halandzsák. Legalábbis annyiban nem, hogy kezdetben volt értelmük, s csak később homályosodott el.”[6]   A régiségben tehát közérthető jelentésük volt.

  Hasonló véleménye van az Borbola János [8]: egyiptológusnak „… gyermekeink énekei, rigmusai őrzik leghívebben őseink kultúráját…” E „mondóka „egyáltalán nem latin eredetű, hanem ősmagyar gyermekvers… Az is elképzelhető, hogy eredetileg felnőttek sorshúzása volt, s azt vették át játékukhoz a gyermekek.” Megszívlelendő észrevétele, hogy a mondóka olvasásának „valószínű nyitja, hogy a ’varázsszavakat’ visszafelé kell olvasni.”Pass László, debreceni evangélikus lelkész részletesebben foglalkozott a mondókával. Fritz Hommel, Friedrich Delitzsch, Franz Brünnow és Anton Deimel ékjeles szójegyzékének latin betűs szócikkei alapján, a vonatkozó ékjelek mellőzésével vizsgálta szöveget, s megállapította: „Nem kiolvasó versike…, hanem kb. 12-10.000 éves ős-magyar Nap-köszöntő zsoltár, mely hívja, hívogatja napkelte előtt a Világosság Istenét az Ég-re, hogy győzze le  a Sötétség Szellemét, hogy elterjeszthesse a világosság, a jóság uralmát az egész földön. Ez ősrégi Nap-hívogató ének ó-magyar nyelven az emberiség legősibb ismert zsoltára, ősi pentaton dallama[,] és még ma is időszerű.”[9]1975-ben Pass négyoldalas cikkére Komoróczy Géza, nyelvész válaszolt „Egyetlen olyan szót sem találni, mely a két nyelv [sumir-magyar] rokonságát bizonyítaná, mint ahogy az Antantémusz kezdetű gyermekversike sumer megfejtése is képtelenség…”[10] Ezen „ex katedra” kijelentés okozhatta, hogy az akadémikus körök nem elemezték a versikét[11], hanem megmaradtak a halandzsa besorolás mellett. Pass László megérzése és az ékiratos szószedetekben való tapogatózása helyes. Ám kifogásolható, hogy a cikkében felsorolt sumir-magyar szóegyezéseket az íráskép és a hangalak alapján azonosította. El kell olvasni és értelmezni kell a hozzájuk tartozó vonalas, illetve ékjeleket. Ám a sumir fogalomírás és a magyar betűírás közti nagy az időbeli távolság, és a különböző íráskép miatt nem egyszerű.Vajon össze lehet-e hozni e kétféle írást? Szabad-e a latin betűs, jól szótagolható mondókát visszavetíteni a több ezer évvel ezelőtti sumir fogalomírás jeleire?Segítségül fel kellett használni a székely-magyar rovásírást. A mintegy két és fél ezer éves latin betűíráson és a sokkal régebbi székely-magyar, részben szótag-, részben betűíráson át kellett eljutni a kb. 6000 éves fogalomírásig. A magyar latin betűs írásnál csekély eltéréssel a hangalak és az íráskép összhangban van. Még a Kazinczy-féle beavatkozás ellenére is megmaradt az egy hang – egy betű elve.A székely-magyar rovásírásban ez kissé másképp fest.[12] Betűírásnak tartatik, ám valami megmaradt a keleti nyelvek mássalhangzós írásaiból. Ti. a mássalhangzók esetében a kiejtésekor, a hangzósításkor a mássalhangzóval együtt ejtett un. ejtéskönnyítő segédhang, leginkább az „e” zönge jelöletlen. Egy-egy szó rovásakor a hallással érzékelt[13] mássalhangzókat kötelező jelölni, róni; az „e” ejtéskönnyítő segédhangot jobbára nem, de az ejtéskor bele kell olvasni a szóba! A sok mássalhangós cseh nyelv létrejötte az „e” segédhang elhanyagolására, „nemtudására” megy vissza. A szarmatákkal keveredett erdőlakó szláv nép bár nem ismerte a (szarmata) rovásírás elvét, de használta. Nem tudta, hogy ejtéskor a szóba bele kell olvasni a jelöletlen magánhangzót. (A cseh nyelv ennek köszönheti torlódó mássalhangzós beszédét.)

  A székely-magyar rovásírás, és más, pl. a skandináv rúnarás kevés jellel sokat fejez ki. Az írásban ez a betű-összevonásoknak köszönhető Mássalhangzót mássalhangzóval, továbbá egy vagy több magán- és mássalhangzót lehet összevonni, de csak akkor, ha a természetes szótagolás rendjét nem borítja fel. A mássalhangzók összevonásának a szó végén a helyük, hogy a szótagolás rendjét ne zavarják. E szabályt az „Antanténusz” c. versike értelmezésekor szigorúan figyelembe kellett venni. A mai magyar nyelvérzék szerint a mondóka első „sora” két jelentésnélküli több szótagú szó. A szótaghatárok megállapítását nagyban elősegítette a versike erőteljes hangsúlyozása, vagyis a nyomatékos szótagolás.A XIX-XX. századi magyarul tudó, az ékírást ismerő tudósok[15] felismerték, az eredeti magyar szavak és nyelvtani elemek szótagjainak a régiségben önálló jelentésük volt. Semmi nem indokolja, hogy az „antanténusz szórakaténusz…” esetében ne így lett volna. A nyomatékos, egymástól elhatárolódó szótagokat önálló jelentéssel bíró gyökökként[16] lehet felfogni.A gyökhatárok pontos megállapítását a latin betűs szöveg rovásjelekkel való leírása segítette elő. A Rudimenta szerint, ha az egyes gyök-szavakat a hangzósításnak megfelelően összevont jelekkel le lehet írni, akkor azok szótagként, jelen esetben önálló jelentésű szavakként egybetartoznak.Az alábbi táblázatban a 2. oszlop a mondóka két szótagcsoportjának (an.tan.té.nusz szo.ra.ka.tén.usz) mai írásképét mutatja. A következő az egyes gyök-szavak rovásjeleit, utána az ékjeleit, majd a latin betűs átírást és az ékjelek jelentését tartalmazza. A felettük levő nyilak az olvasás irányát jelzik.A latin betűs átírásnál némely magánhangzó feletti vonás nem ékezet, hanem az alsó indexszel együtt a zönge pici kiejtésbeli másságát jelzi, amit nem hallunk.[17]A megfejtésnél használt jelek az új-asszír szótári jelek.A mondóka szövege ékjeles agyagtáblán még nem bukkant elő, ezért okafogyott találgatni, mely kor írására lehetne visszavetíteni. Ti. az íráskép kb. 500 évenként változott. A XIX-XX. századi szótárak meg az új-asszír ékjelekre épültek.

   Az 1. sz. an rovása szokatlan. A n betű „arca” az említett kiadványok egyikében sem fordul jobbra. Az olvasási sorrendnek megfelelően az a betű a n hátára illeszkedik. Fordított esetben az olvasata na lenne.A 3. sz. té ilyetén jelölése sem szokványos, de ha a „Tanító tábla” első sorában az e és az é betűt össze lehetett vonni, akkor ez is megengedhető.A 4. sz. nusz szóban a kisebbre rótt u zönge a kiejtéskor alig hallik, mert az utána következő S =sz mássalhangzó erősen hangsúlyos, szinte teljesen elnyomja.Talányos a fenti táblázat 4. számmal jelölt nusz ékjelének jelentése és értelmezése. A hangzósítás szerint a szót három összevont rovásjellel lehet leírni, tehát egyetlen dologra, fogalomra utalhat. Ám a Deimel-szótárban az ékjeles gyökök közt nincs nusz hangalakkal feloldható szó, ezért fel kellett e bontani a zárt szótagú szót NU és UZ írásképű gyökké.A rovásjelek összevonhatósága miatt a nusz két ékjele is összetartozhat; minden bizonnyal egyetlen fogalmat, esetleg jelzős kifejezést (szószerkezetet) jelölhet. S valóban a NU8 és az UZ együttes jelentése „utód liba”, vagyis „kisliba”.A 6. sz. gyök mai kiejtése: szó. Csakhogy az első megfejtők szerint a sumir nyelvben nincs o/ó hang. Ezért körül kell nézni, vajon a magyar nyelv, esetleg a tájnyelv lehetőséget ad-e arra, hogy az ó más magánhangzóként, esetleg u-nak ejtődjék. Az o „… a zárt a és u között…középhelyet foglal, honnan ezekkel … tájejtés szerént némely szavakban váltakozik, mint …bagár, bogár, bugár…, sőt az a-u egybeolvadásból igen gyakran hosszú ó válik pl. monda-uk lesz mondók.”[19] A ló tájnyelvi ejtése: ló-lou-lú.  A magyarban a szó/szu váltakozás létező nyelvi jelenség, ezért nyugodtan egybe lehetett vetni a sumir SZU10 kifejezéssel.A 6. sz. szu összerovásakor felismerhetővé kellett tenni a kétbetűs összetételt, ezért az u rovásjelet kisebbre, a S=sz mássalhangzót nagyobbra kellett venni.  A 8. sz. szó összevonásnál a rombusz alakú k =k-hoz balról illeszkedik az a. Efféle összevonás van a Tanító táblán a jobb felső sor második jelcsoportjában. A 10. sz. jel a 6. sz. jel fordítottja.A 9. és a 10. szógyök a latinbetűs írásképe teljesen megegyezik a 3. és a 4. sz. nusz-szal. Hangzósításkor mégis úgy hallik, mintha 9. sz. tén szógyök n hangja kevésbé lenne hangsúlyos, mint az usz szógyök u, illetve sz hangja. Ezért szótaghatár nem a té és a nusz, hanem a tén és az usz közt lehet. Ezt tükrözi ékírás, hisz a tén ékjele teljesen megegyezik a té-vel; a jelentése is ugyanaz.A magyar nyelv annyira gazdag, hajlékony, alkalmazkodó, hogy nincs olyan idegenes mondatszerkezet, amelynek a szószerinti jelentését vissza ne tudná adni. Nincs, amit magyar anyanyelvű ne értene, legfeljebb nem szép, nem magyaros és szabatos, vagyis nyakatekert.Ily furcsának tűnő kifejezés a 8. és a 9. sz. szóhoz tartozó ékjel jelentése.A „kapu-közel” kifejezés magyarul érthető. Azt jelenti, hogy valami közel van a kapuhoz, szinte megjelenik, de még nem lépte át a küszöböt. Ez az egyetlen kifejezés a mondóka első részében, amit kétféleképpen lehet értelmezni: A Nap égi kapuja. E jelenséget őrizhette meg a versike (Tejút) [20]
  A Nap „kapu-közelben” van. A horizonton látszik a hajnalpir, jelzi, hogy közeledik a napkelte, kezdetét veszi a derengés. Ám a Nap még nem lépett a látóhatár fölé, még nem alkot „aranykaput”.Ez értelmezést támasztja alá az 1., 2., 3. sz., az „égi fénykorona közeledik” kifejezés. Az „antanténusz szórakaténusz” teljességgel magyar, ezért feltételezhető, hogy ebben is megvan a magyar népdal jellemző szerkezeti sajátossága a gondolatritmus. Pl. az „alma a fa alatt, nyári piros alma” első szóképe, a második szószerkezetben kibővítve megismétlődik.A népdal megmondja, hogy a fa alatt van egy alma, s ez az alma nyári is, meg piros is. S csak ezután következik a népdal tényleges mondandója: „Engem gyaláz a szeretőm édesanyja…” A mondóka esetében: Itt a pirkadat, közeledik a napkelte. A Nap már-már feltűnik a látóhatáron. A kislibák ébredése, kelése „kapuközelben” van. A hajnali hűvösségben reszkető, didergő kislibák, már nem szunnyadnak, hanem felébredtek, s epedve várják a napfelkeltét.A rovás- és az ékírás együttes felhasználásával az An.tan.tén.usz szó.ra.ka.té.nusz… mondóka lehetséges mai magyar  nyelvű értelmezése:
  Égi fénykorona közeledik, kislibá(k), elég a reszketés, kapu-közel a felkelés…
  A mondóka ilyetén értelmezése felidézi a „Süss föl nap / fényes nap / kertek alatt / kislibáink / megfagynak” c. gyermekdalt. Az „Antanténusz”-ban is várják a libák a napkeltét, de megjelenik benne a „Bújj, bújj zöld ág / zöld levelecske / nyitva van az aranykapu / csak bújjatok rajta!” c. dalocska „kapu” eleme is.A régiségben az „Antanténusz”-nak, a halandzsa-szövegnek tartott versikének megvolt a jelentése, értelme. Csoda, hogy a mindmáig megmaradt és él a magyar gyermeknyelvben, s kivétel nélkül minden magyar ember ismeri, gyermekkorában játszotta, látta, hallotta.

Johannes Reuchlin
Erasmus hailed him as “the triple-tongued” Reuchlin for his expert knowledge of Latin, Greek, and Hebrew. He was the outstanding Hebraist among the humanists of the early sixteenth century. His Rudimenta Hebraica was the authoritative Hebrew grammar of the period. Reuchlin steeped himself in Greek philosophy and became a proponent of Pythagorean philosophy. His study of Hebrew writings involved him deeply in cabalistic speculations. He wrote On the Wonder-Working Wordand On the Cabalistic Art.
