Bridgerton proposals rated by level of chaos
Anthony - While courting her sister, Anthony panics when Kate is stung by a bee, proceeds to attempt to suck out the poison from her clavicle, and is caught by their mothers and Lady Featherington. Lady F says they'll have to marry and Anthony announces they'll be married next week. No proposal, Kate is never consulted. Anthony then ravishes her in the gazebo. 10/10. Complete Chaos.
Benedict - After repeatedly propositioning Sophie to be his live-in mistress, Benedict finds out she has been arrested for theft, shows up at the jail, punches the warden, and demands to know why his fiancé is being held prisoner. No proposal. Lady B almost punches Sophie's evil stepmother. 12/10. Utter Chaos.
Colin - Like a day after realizing that he finds Penelope incredibly attractive, Colin chases her through London, discovers she's Lady Whistledown, throws her in his carriage, lectures her, ravishes her, then they arrive back at her house and he hops out of the carriage and says, "well are you going to marry me or not?" Technically a proposal. 7/10. Chaos compounded by Lady F somehow thinking he's proposing to Pen's little sister.
Daphne - Daphne disrupts a duel for her honor, punches Simon in the eye, and insists he marry her because their garden makeout session was seen. Simon say he cannot have children, omitting that it's a personal choice and not a medical condition, and Daphne says good to know not a problem we're doing this. No real proposal. No one's happy with the outcome. Pistols and bickering big brothers in attendance for added chaos. 8/10
Eloise - Phillip proposes in a letter before they ever meet, failing to mention he has two children. Eloise packs a bag and leaves for his house without telling anyone. Phillip is shocked to discover her on his doorstep. The brothers are forced to ride after to her to defend her honor. Eloise doesn't understand why everyone's making such a fuss. Colin grumbles he's meant to be on his honeymoon. Beautiful Eloise-brand chaos abounds. 7/10
Francesca - Michael pines for a decade. He proposes. Franny says no. They have sex. He proposes. She says maybe. They have more sex. He nearly dies of malaria. Eventually they get married. By any other family's standards, it would be legendary chaos, but we're talking about the Bridgertons. 5/10
Gregory - HOO BOY. Gregory proposes/propositions Lucy despite her being engaged to someone else. She agrees but then is threatened by her treasonous uncle and goes through with the original marriage. Gregory interrupts the wedding. Lucy turns him down in front of the whole Ton. At the reception Gregory kidnaps her, then gets into a shootout with her uncle. Her now-husband agrees to annul the marriage. Absolute freaking chaos. No notes. 27/10
Hyacinth - Despite midnight rendezvous, breaking and entering, and a treasure hunt, Hyancinth's proposal is shockingly normal. Gareth formally asks Anthony's permission, then gets down on one knee and proposes properly. 2/10. Mildly disappointing, considering H's chaotic personality.

my mom is letting my abuser -- my brother -- back into the house because he has nowhere to go and she misses her son and wants to give him another chance
mind you she has bailed him out of jail multiple times to free him of charges of assault, domestic assault, armed criminal action, property damage, theft, etc that he caused to my family. namely me and my sister, but also to my mom, so i'm really confused as to why she is granting him the ability to even visit
like he's choked me and he's thrown my sister into doors before stomping on her stomach. he's threatened to kill any children she may have and has told me (AFAB) and my sister that "women are only good for being raped". my sister has a 4 month old daughter now so we are very scared
anyways when i filed a restraining order today my mom tried keeping me away from doing so because "it's not necessary" and "he doesn't deserve that". she prevented me from reporting my assaults multiple times in years prior so i wouldn't ruin his reputation or chances at having a job
am i in the wrong here. i've been in therapy for over a decade due to his actions

The Ratigans
Portraits of the Ratigan family members. Read more for all their names and backstories!
FAIR WARNING!! Some of this is very sad. Ratigan turned to a life of crime after a life of great sadness and tragedy...
Large credit to @suzie-guru for basically helping me create them and flesh them out.
Patreon (18+) | Twitter | Blusky
In order from left to right and down:
Seamus Ceannaire Ratigan
Seamus was a Rat of great integrity and pride. He did much in his community to try and uplift the local rat population. He rallied, gave speeches, and organized local marches in order to further the betterment of the Rat populous, often undermined and forgotten by the public at large. He believed in being better than what others thought of them, proving wrong the assumptions that Rats were all shifty, underhanded, feral, and prone to criminal activity. He taught these values to his family throughout his life. He was horribly disabled after protecting his oldest son Padraic, from a bigoted attack instigated by anti-rat sentiment. He was never the same after that. He died a few years after.
Losa Bella Ratigan
Seamus’s “beautiful rose” Losa was a child of both Italian and Irish Rats, and she had excelled in her youth as a popular operatic star. She sang in multiple languages and had even gigged at the English Opera House. She sang at one of the events Seamus spoke at. Each saw what the other excelled at and they fell madly in love. After Seamus was attacked, Losa was forced to support the family on her own. She resorted to petty theft and bartering in order to put food on the table. She survives her husband and most of her children now, and she lives in Ratterton trying hard to keep her husband's legacy alive. She’s highly disappointed at the state of her eldest son and mourns the tragedy of her family, but she remains a steadfast and confident woman.
Padraic Ratigan
The eldest son and most intelligent member of his family. Padraic was the pride and joy of his parents. A testament to the future rats could have with enough hard work and dedication. Padraic was accomplished in math, literature, engineering, and arts at a very young age. Despite losing his father at the age of 15 and endless family tragedy, his intelligence and tireless fight for a better life earned him a prestigious scholarship to Cambridge University. However, after a deadly rampage through the school he left and never returned. After the incident, Padraic went abroad with forged papers, eventually earning his degree as a Professor of Mathematics. He returned to England after years to begin building his criminal empire. After trying to overthrow the English monarchy, Padraic was defeated and placed in jail, where he now currently resides.
Lorcan Ratigan
The third youngest and the second son, Lorcan was all burning passion. He loved a good time and a good toss in the sheets with both lads and lassies. He led his life with his whole heart, unconcerned with what others thought of him. He often acted as the muscle when Padraic, Sorcha, and him got into mischief. Often the one completing all the dirty work neither of them wanted to do. But he was always happy to do so. Though not the smartest in his family by any means, he was unflinchingly loyal to them and to the ones he cared about. He began helping Padraic when he returned to build the criminal empire, moving shipments and scaring anyone who dared go against their family. While working at the docks he met a young debutante mousette. Their whirlwind romance led to an unexpected pregnancy. Lorcan took the fall for a scheme of Ratigan’s and was offered freedom in exchange for information on him. But Lorcan, ever loyal, refused to give up his brother. He was executed for his crimes, leaving his lover alone with their unborn child.
Sorcha Ratigan
The eldest daughter and second oldest child, Sorcha Ratigan is a calm, cool, and beautiful Queen of the Ratigan family. Though just as intelligent as her brother Padraic, there were limited options available to a rat woman. So she devoted herself to her career as a performer, following in their mother’s footsteps. She traveled abroad to Italy to train in their opera houses and spend time with her mother’s family there. Once she returned, she joined Padraic’s empire as a spy and informant. With Sorcha’s wit, confidence, and allure, she was able to handily trick men into giving her whatever she wanted. Money, vacations, and information. After Lorcan’s passing however, she blamed Padraic and left abroad to Italy where she currently resides, living with local artists and performing.
Saoirse Ratigan
The second daughter and fourth child. Saoirse is a firebrand. She has the justice seeking strength of her father and is a devoted civil rights activist. She heads labor unions, suffragette meetings, and protests at unfair legal proceedings for rats. She’s been arrested several times for disturbing the peace and for general unruliness. Her unwavering need to do the right thing has estranged her a bit from her older siblings once they got involved in crime. She believes in trying to do the right thing through uplifting the community, not through dark back alley deals. She currently works in a factory still living with their mother and taking care of her.
Rodrick Ratigan
Affectionately referred to as “Rod” by his family, Rod was always interested in the newly discovered use of electricity. He would experiment with coils and currents whenever he could, though often not aware of how dangerous it was. He might have gone on to school as Padraic did, but a plague fell over Ratterton at the time, taking him far too soon.
Carmella and Ciaran
The twins and youngest of the family. Completely inseparable, they were little mischievous tricksters. The twins were not in the world for very long though. Ratterton lacked proper medicine and trained doctors, so when the plague came and Cairan fell terribly ill there was little the family could do for him. Carmella was never the same after her twin brother passed, and she passed away years later from the same illness. It was said she passed with a smile, happy to be reunited with her twin.

Knife crime against women and girls has more than doubled in five years and campaigners are warning that not enough is being done to keep them safe.
New figures obtained by The Independent show the number of women who were killed, injured or threatened by a knife soared from 6,000 in 2018 to more than 13,700 in 2022 – laying bare the scale of the crisis. The offences include ones relating to robbery, rape, homicide, public order and theft.
Elianne Andam, 15, is among the victims of knife crime, having been killed on her way to school in Croydon last September. Mehak Sharma, 19, was stabbed to death in the same borough last November having just moved to the UK from India.
Campaigners say the statistics, which cover the last available full year of 2022, show the country needs to tackle the crisis, particularly when it relates to domestic violence, with Labour MP Jess Phillips warning: “Things are getting progressively worse.”
Nick Gazzard, whose 20-year-old daughter Hollie died after being stabbed 14 times by her violent ex-boyfriend in 2014, said: “If this was terrorism, there would be a national outcry.”
The figures for 2022 reveal that:
The number of female knife crime victims surged by 43 per cent in the West Midlands, from 1,010 in 2018 to 1,448 in 2022, according to the UK’s second-largest force
In Essex, the number of victims more than quadrupled in the same time frame – from 435 to 1,879
And Avon and Somerset recorded the number of victims as rising 46 per cent over five years, from 593 to 868
After a Freedom of Information request made by this publication, 26 of the UK’s 43 police forces provided data on knife crime where the victim was either a girl or a woman. The Metropolitan Police, Britain’s largest force, did not respond.
The latest full-year countrywide figures from the Office for National Statistics (ONS), also for 2022, show that 282 homicides – or four out of 10 – were committed using a knife or sharp instrument. This represented a 19 per cent increase over the previous year.
Police said the way knife crimes are recorded had changed in 2019 but they could not attribute the rise in figures to those changes.
Knives and sharp instruments are the most common weapons used to kill women in this country. ONS data shows that, in the year ending March 2022, one in three female homicide victims was killed by a partner or ex (33 per cent), while more than one in 10 died at the hands of a relative (13 per cent). Some 40 per cent of the deaths occurred in or around the home, compared to 7 per cent in the street or other public spaces.
Ms Phillips has long championed the fight against domestic violence but says the government’s Domestic Abuse Bill does not do enough to protect women. The MP for Birmingham Yardley blames a reduction in youth services and workers, local council cuts, and a lack of police and judicial resources for fuelling the crisis.
The MP, who every year in parliament reads out the names of women killed by men, said: “Things are getting progressively worse, knife crime against women is classic domestic abuse but that’s not ever included in knife crime strategy.
“If only they [the government] cared as much about sexual and domestic abuse as they care about Rwanda.”
The law currently states killers who bring a weapon to the scene face a minimum 25-year sentence, while sentences for those who do not start at 15 years. As domestic killers are more likely to use a weapon lying around the house, like a kitchen knife, they can end up with more lenient jail terms.
Carole Gould has campaigned to close the legal loophole ever since her 17-year-old daughter Ellie was killed by her boyfriend of three months when she ended the relationship.
Thomas Griffiths was sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 12-and-a-half years in 2019 after he walked into Ellie’s family home, strangled her and then stabbed her 13 times, attempting to frame the attack as a suicide by inserting the knife in the side of her neck.
“She’d only been going out with him for a few months,” her mother said. “The ending of a relationship is the most dangerous time in a woman’s life.”
Campaigner Ngozi Fulani told The Independent that the cost of living crisis may also have had an impact on the rise in crimes against women.
Ms Fulani set up the charity Sistah Space to advocate for Black female victims of domestic abuse in the wake of the deaths of Valerie Forde and her 22-month-old daughter Jahzara. They were both stabbed to death in 2014 by Ms Forde’s ex Roland McKoy, who was jailed for 35 years.
“We have seen a significant rise in reporting to us of knife or sharp instrument attacks,” Ms Fulani said. “We are in a time of economic depression right now and we find perpetrators in unstable economic situations will often become violent.”
Sistah Space has campaigned for Valerie’s Law, legislation that would make specialist training mandatory for all police and other government agencies that support black women and girls affected by domestic abuse.
“We want people to understand one thing – domestic abuse is not a woman’s problem,” she said. “It’s an everybody problem.”
For Deniz Ugur, deputy director of the End Violence Against Women Coalition, violence by men against women is part of a cultural problem that needs to be tackled.
“Women and girls face the constant threat of male violence, whether that’s in public spaces, the workplace, online or in our own homes, where the majority of this violence takes place,” he said.
“If we are to change this then it is critical that the government prioritises and invests in quality relationships and sex education based on consent and equality, and public campaigns to shift the attitudes that justify and normalise this violence and abuse. Women and girls deserve better.”
Conservative MP Caroline Nokes has criticised the government for refusing to commit to a new educational strategy for boys which would aim to tackle sexual harassment and gender-based violence.
The chair of the cross-party women’s and equalities committee said: “Education is a powerful and necessary tool in preventing violence against women and girls. Relationships, sex and health education that continues past secondary school and that engages proactively with boys and young men is crucial to combat harmful attitudes.”
A Home Office spokesperson said: “The government is committed to raising the bar in how these vile crimes are dealt with.
“We have gone further than ever before in protecting domestic abuse victims, classifying it as a national threat. Our innovative Young Women and Girls Fund also delivers specialist interventions to vulnerable young women and girls at risk of exploitation or violence.
“We will continue to work closely with the police and courts to bring more criminals to justice, and have set clear expectations for how the police should respond.”

Anything for you. Pantalone x Reader
Warning: Mention of cheating, false accusation, theft, imprisoment, starvation, preg!reader, cheater! Kaeya,
Ie: for the people who love Kaeya. I also love him, one of my favorite playable char, but i want to try him this kind of situation.
Tumblr media
It was a rainy night in Liyue. Everyone is either their home or one of the city inns. Just  a few, mostly homeless people who remained outside in the cold weather. One of them, a young woman silently cried and gently patted her stomach.
-I know love you hungry…so i…but don't worry…mother will get you food somehow…somehow…- her tears became in one with the raindrops what fell from the little rag what she managed to get from the back alleys. She collected a little water to drink in her free hand, but it just make her stomach grumble more.
-Im sorry baby…im sorry…- She sobbed and slowly stand up, stumbled over the road , but a moment later someone caught her and shortly after a heavy dark jacket landed on her back. She heard a  calm male voice.
-Oh my…It's too cold out here darling. You’ll catch a cold if you…- She looked up to where the voice and the jacket came from. By the archons. It was a handsome man with luscious long black hair and glasses.
-I-im sorry sir. I did not want…- she tried to move away, but he gently grabbed her shoulder and with another hand he moved her face to front of his.
-My, you look really weak darlin’. You eat something today?- Maybe she just imagined but his voice was surprisingly concerned just as his eyes. After his question she started to cry even more. The young woman's trembling lips are not open for answer. He quickly pulled his hand from her face and lifted her in bridal style.
You need to go to a doctor. Lets go.
Later, in the clinic.
“This cant be real. Why he helped me?” She thought as she slowly gulped the warm soup what the nurse gave her earlier.
The doctor and a man who brought her there  talked not far from her.
Thank you kind sir for bringing her in time. She was seriously malnourished and her fever almost get worse. It was deadly to both her and the baby.
…Understand. Thank you doctor. - The raven haired man looked at the woman. - May I ask for some minutes of privacy with her after you finish the necessary checks?
Of course. I just finished the papers.  Take your time. - And then he left the room. The other man grabbed a chair and sit next to bed.
I'm sorry for the vulgarity, i'm not even introduced myself to you. Name is Pantalone. May i ask yours? - She just put the empty bowl on the counter and bowed her head. She weakly told her name. Pantalone let out a worried sigh.
Beautiful name. So, you’re not from Liyue?
I'm from Mondstadt. I was from there.
And may i ask what happened to you in this condition?
…I did not know either. - She muttered and grabbed the  bedsheet. Pantalone raised a brow, but before he opened his mouth, she continued- Just one month ago I was in the middle of the preparation of my wedding with my fiance and the next moment i was accused for stealing relic from the temple.
You did that?
Of course not! - she cried out. - I would never do such a thing! And turn out…that said relic was not even stolen from.
Hooh? Then what happened? - She gripped the sheets with more force, he put his hand on hers to ease her a little bit.
My own fiance, who is one the knight of Favonius, came to arrest me. They put me in the jail without a trial.
Thats kinda suspicious.
At first i dod not understand either, but later i found out.
??
The two guards who  was on night patrol talked about how Kaeya already moved another woman in our house and tomorrow they will get me out of the town to ‘put another place’. They don't even cared about i heard them.
Now you safe darlin’.- Pantalone gently moved his hand toward hers.- They dont hurt you anymore.
But why? - she cried. - Why did he did this to me?! I was his fiance! With his child! He told me to get married earlier!
He did not think about it seriously. He did not care about you and the baby at all. - He said the with a cold tone. She froze from his words. Then she let out a sigh and a weak smile toward Pantalone.
Thank you, for saying this…Maybe i …i just want to hear what i tought. - His face are softened after her sudden comment and start to caress her hands with this tumb.
Tomorrow i need to travel to Inazuma. Would you mind to accompany to me on this journey?
…Why did you care about me, Mr Pantalone? - She asked weakly.
Because i know the feeling when you been left all alone without any hope. I don't want you to feel that anymore.
…Thank you.
6 Years later, Mondstadt
Around noon, a big fancy carriage arrived to the town. Folks gathered around it, and when the door opened 3 young children jump out from it, all boys. After them a tall male with an expensive looking dress came out and reached his hand toward a woman, who also wore a beautiful dress but also covered her face with a silvery colored vail.
Boys, dont run so far. Wait for me and your mother.- He hold her hand and they start to go after the children. Everyone looked at confusion the faces, the knight, the restaurant owner and even Mondstadt  most wealthies man, Diluc came into their view. And he did not like what he saw at all. As they make a stroll over the stairs, one of the guard stop their way upstairs.
Im sorry sir, but this is way is restricted. Military personel only.
Oh, dont mind good sir - Pantalone smiled as the boys hid behind him and their mother. - I was just here to talk with lady Jean.
And may i know what interest?
It really nothing..- Now he slightly opened his eyes, showed a more menacing side of his - i wanted to talk about her how much this city cost? I want to buy it.
To be continue…

It’s an old-fashioned paper caper ― but maybe don’t call the cops. Hundreds of copies of newspapers in Ouray, Colorado, were stolen from around town this week, the day the paper published a story about an alleged rape at the police chief’s house. Ouray County Plaindealer co-publisher Erin McIntyre acknowledged the apparent theft of almost all the papers in an email to readers Thursday and encouraged them to connect the dots on their own. “It’s pretty clear that someone didn’t want the community to read the news this week,” McIntyre wrote. “I’ll leave it up to you to draw your own conclusions on which story they didn’t want you to read.” The front-page headline on the January 18-24 edition of the paper in question reads, “Girl: Rapes occurred at chief’s house.” The story, authored by McIntyre, relays the horrific allegations of a 17-year-old girl who says she was repeatedly raped while at a party with the police chief’s stepson and two other individuals in May 2023. The teenager told investigators that Ouray Police Chief Jeff Wood and his family were asleep upstairs at the time and that she’d screamed and fought back, to no avail. In a media release Thursday, the city said the case had been referred to the Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and added that it’s not currently conducting any personnel investigations in the police department. Separately, the CBI announced the arrests of three people this week regarding the alleged assault. Gabriel Trujillo and Ashton Whittington were both booked into the Montrose County Jail and are being held on a $60,000 bond, while a third, unnamed, juvenile was arrested in Kansas and will be extradited to Colorado. An undeterred McIntyre has seized upon the newspaper thefts as a rallying cry for the importance of local news. “Whoever did this does not understand that stealing newspapers doesn’t stop a story,” she told readers in her email. “This person is not going to shut down the freedom of the press by stealing a few hundred newspapers. Our community won’t stand for it and we won’t, either.”

Posting too late at night for anyone to see as usual-
Tumblr media
But I did a lineup of my skyrim ocs today!
Ylva - Born and raised in Skyrim, she's the LDB... and honestly just wants to settle down and run a tavern! Contrary to her large size and stern features, she quite enjoys the company of children and animals, and wants to create her own brand of wine made with alchemical properties
Aria - She hails from Skingrad in Cyrodil, and she came up north to become a famous treasure hunter just like her late mother! She hunts down artifacts for Auriyen in Solitude
Nox - I believe I originally made her a Breton but I couldn't find any pictures of their original design so I turned them into a Dunmer instead! She lives in the abandoned house in Raven Rock, and spends a lot of time in the jail there for petty theft
Aiden - My newest lil guy! He came from High Rock to study in Skyrim! Unfortunately he has little to no combat prowess, and has to rely on his large friends to protect him
Castian - A survivor of the genocides in Valenwood, he is a rebel spy selling stolen Thalmor secrets to any opposing force... He has been chased through many provinces, but it seems they may have finally cornered him in Skyrim

Crimes of the Empires
Hi idk if this has been made before I'm not super active on here, but Shubble’s character has inspired me to make a list of Reasons the Empires are Probably Criminals, because she seems to think everyone is going to shun her because of being wanted as if they don’t have their own baggage to deal with. If you have any suggestions on things I’ve missed, please feel free to add on I don’t watch every POV consistently  Shelby - faking her death - murdering the sheriff - actually several murders at this point but they do respawn so not that big of a deal imo - practicing magic illegally
Scott - he literally goes around and steals that’s his whole THING - ran a black market, which also incriminates everyone else who participated in that...which was basically everyone -having an actual llama as a bartender is surely frowned upon
Joel - I mean if we’re counting murder... - vandalism technically, although it WAS funny - sold illegal toys - destruction of property, he literally unleashed a wither in Jimmy’s empire - I feel like I must be forgetting several things
Lizzie - identity theft - scamming people as a fortune teller and in several other situations - illegal gunpowder business run with fwhip - blew up her own empire, which I don’t actually know if that’s a crime
Fwhip - regularly steals from Lizzie’s berry farm - I’m pretty sure he regularly steals from most people - you can say “safety is our number one priority” all you want I don’t believe you - illegal gunpowder business with Lizzie - the warden “wedding gifts” killed so many people
Sausage - I don’t watch his POV often but if the Witches Academy is mad about Shelby’s magic then I can’t imagine how they’d react to Sausage’s inter-dimensional travel
Jimmy - He’s in his villain arc right now need I say more
Gem - She might actually be safe - she’s on thin ice with the sun religion thing though I’m pretty sure that’s a cult
Pix - He literally took SOMEONE’S HOUSE without asking first - he’s literally roleplaying the British museum - plus the line between archeology and grave robbing is just too thin sorry dude
False - well if we don’t count all that she did on hermit craft prior to empires... - she still spied on her twin - knocked several people unconscious  - collects member’s heads - and stole her twin’s cat which is pretty rude
Oli - weirdly enough I can’t think of many despite him actually being in jail for a while, but I don’t count that justified - he did steal Gem’s goat horn though - also maybe making things at the festival overpriced but I don’t know if that’s a crime or just capitalism
Joey - He’s a pirate crime is literally his thing
Katherine - I don’t watch her POV either but from other people’s perspective, she is actively denying a very obvious problem with her empire and I think that’s probably bad Anyways I don’t think Shelby has anything to worry about

Come On, Eileen | Part 1
Tumblr media
Eddie Munson x Eileen Mayfield (OC)
Summary: Eileen Mayfield moves to Hawkins in the wake of her step-brother's death, to care for her little sister, Max. The last thing she expects is to fall in love with their new neighbour at the trailer park.
Warnings: mentions of abusive households, drug use, murder, parental death, grand theft auto, dads in jail/running away, family issues, etc.
word count: 3.1k
Tumblr media
Three redheads moved into the red trailer beside theirs. It made him laugh at first, it was a nice trailer but he wondered why they picked red when they repped the colour enough already.
He finds himself staring at them as they move in, making trip after trip in their one tiny car, back and forth from their old house to their new trailer.
The youngest looked familiar, he’s seen her with zombie boy and his buddies around the town, the mom reminds him of someone, but he can’t place it and then there’s who he suspects is the older sister. She’s we’re his gaze lingers, she’s just so god damn beautiful he’s willing to look like a total pervert to get a good look at her.
Her hair was big and curly like his but in a beautiful shade of auburn. Bootcut light blue jeans, tight green shirt with a peace sign on it, and she was in charge. She told her mom what to do, where to put things, what order they should go in, everything really. Her voice was loud enough for him to hear half their conversations, which excited him. No one else in Hawkins was as loud as him. He instantly made it his mission to get to know her, she was so interesting and different and downright gorgeous… how could he not?
And so, being the kind, generous person he was (and totally not interested in flirting with her) he walked over and offered to help with his van. But only after the two girls left on another trip to their old house, leaving just their mom behind to unpack.
“I’m sure it’ll cut the trips in half?” He tried to sweeten the pot and get her to agree.
The mother of the two girls is grateful for the help, introducing herself as Susan Mayfield, along with her oldest, Eileen and her youngest, Maxine. He smiled at how they rhymed, it was perfect for them.
“Those are great names, ma’am, you sure know how to pick ‘em,” he compliments, taking an empty laundry basket from her and loading it into the back of his van.
“Thank you,” she smiles, a lot happier now than when they started dropping things off.
He opens the passenger door for her and helps her in with a helping hand. He waits for her to buckle in before he closes the door and rushes around to get in on the driver's side.
“So, what brings you to Forrest Hills Trailer Park?”
She doesn’t look too happy to answer that one, but she does. “Did you know Billy Hargrove?”
He nods and then remembers seeing him around with the youngest red, driving her to and from school dangerously fast in a beautiful car. He had no idea that they had an even more beautiful sister named Eileen.
“I’m so sorry for your loss, I know that must be hard for you and Max… I’ve never seen Eileen around, however?”
“She didn’t get along with Billy or Neil… she lived with her grandmother in California last year.”
He could tell that was a sore spot for her so he didn’t press any further. “So where am I headed?”
“4819 Cherry Lane,” she says with a sigh. “The girls should still be there. Thank you again for the help.”
It was really no bother for him, he was just going to stare at them from his bedroom window anyway, he might as well help and stare at Eileen in person now.
“Are you still in high school?” She asks him the questions instead.
He nods, “unfortunately, ma’am. I’m having quite a hard time passing English, I’m about to start my second repeat of senior year.”
“Oh, that’s not too bad,” she waves it off. “I’ve always said 18 is too young to start the rest of your life, anyway. Take as much time as you need, experience as much as you can, college will always be waiting for you.”
He never thought of it like that. “Thank you, no one’s ever said that to me before."
“Anytime,” she waves him off, looking out the window at the town as Eddie sped on through it. “You know, Eileen didn’t want anyone to know this, but she’s doing a victory lap. You know, grade 13?”
“Why? Is she that bored?”
She nods, “the college is too far for her to drive back and forth every day and still get home in time to watch Maxine and make sure she’s okay… it’s been extra hard on her for some reason. I never thought her and Billy were that close and then she saw him die… it’s heartbreaking.”
“But that’s so nice of Eileen to put her life on hold and watch her sister, My sister looked after me till she had her own family.”
“Is it just the two of you?”
He nods, “Shan moved to Cincinnati a while back. My mom died when I was a kid, dad's been in and out of jail for GTA for the last 10 years. It’s just me and my uncle, Wayne here now.”
“I’m so sorry to hear that,” she spoke with a soft and genuine voice, one he didn’t hear often when people learned his parents were delinquents like him. “Before I lived in California I was in a similar situation in Tennessee, so, I get it.”
He shoots her a quick smile while they rest at a stop sign, “thanks, and I’m sorry you can relate.”
“You seem happy now though?”
He pulls up behind the girls car as they take turns bringing out boxes of their things. “‘Bout to get even happier.”
He helps Mrs. Mayfield out of the passenger seat and leads her toward the house. “Girls, we have a helper!”
They find them both in the kitchen packing up plates into different boxes labelled keep and donate. They turn to Eddie with a look of confusion and slight disgust. “Eddie is our new neighbour, he offered to let us use his van for fewer trips.”
“Lovely to meet you,” he reaches out to Eileen first but she doesn’t want to shake his hand.
“Uh, thanks,” she rolls her eyes slightly and turns back to Max, talking to her with her eyes in a way Eddie knew all too well. Girls always did that around him. It was code for “get a load of this guy?”
“It’s nice to meet you, Eddie,” Max gives him a small smile, “there are a few boxes upstairs still, mom if you guys want to get those ones?”
“Sounds good,” Eddie turns back to their mother and followers her up the stairs.
“Do you know him?” Eileen whispers to Max once their new neighbour was out of ear's reach.
She shakes her head, “never talked to him before, but I’ve seen him in the parking lot after school a few times.”
Billy used to drive her to and from school, seeing as the two schools shared a parking lot. He didn’t do it because he was nice, rather he was afraid of his father, a man that Eileen hated just a little bit more than she hated Billy. They were two men cut from the same racist, misogynistic, disgusting cloth and she was so fucking glad her mom threw him away when she had the chance.
Sure, she was sad as hell and drinking her second failed marriage away, she was going to be recovering for a while, but at least she wasn’t black and blue in the meantime anymore.
“I don’t like him,” Eileen decided quickly. He smells like cigarettes and his hair is long, he wears band tees and a leather jacket in the middle of summer… he would’ve fit in with Billy crowd back in California.
“Whatever,” Max didn’t care in the slightest. She simply kept wrapping dishes in newspaper and placing them into the box.
Mrs. Mayfield orders pizza for them all once everything is in the house and Eddie offers to go pick it up. She gives him the money, he gets ready by the door and then turns to Eileen, “do you want to come with me?”
“Not particularly,” she gives him another look of disgust.
“Go with him,” her mom taps her shoulder gently. “It’ll be nice, he’s very sweet.”
“Yeah, you also thought Billy was sweet and we all know how that ended,” she fights back, bringing up something Eddie wasn’t privy to, but the girls understood.
“I hated Billy,” he makes it as clear as possible. “No disrespect, ma’am, but he was an asshole to me and my friends. He beat up my friend Jeff for looking at him the wrong way, but we all knew it was because Jeff is black… I’m nothing like him, Eileen, I can assure you that.”
She gives in with a sigh, “I’m so sorry he gave you a hard time too.”
“It’s okay,” he softens even more.
She gives him a sweet smile, “let’s go.”
“Alright,” he takes the lead and opens the trailer door for her, “after you.”
She laughs, “you don’t have to exaggerate, I believe you’re not like him, I get it.”
“I’m a gentleman, I’ll have you know,” he follows her out and walks a bit faster so he can open the passenger door for her before she gets to it first.
She shakes her head with a smirk and gets in. He was trying his best to get on her good side, it was working…
“Now, the only thing about driving with me is that I typically don’t let anyone else pick the music… however, I don’t think we have any mutual interests when it comes to good tunes,” he referenced to her bell bottom jeans and curly red hair, she had a livelihood to herself that made him think she was into Disco or Pop…
“I like rock and country,” she surprises him.
“Really?”
She nods, “I’m a country singer, actually. Thats what I was doing before I moved here to help my mom.”
“Damn,” she blew any preconceived notions he had of her away and replaced them all with wonderment. “Fuck the music, tell me more about yourself, then?”
She gives him a real smile, “what would you like to know first?”
He hums while he starts his van and puts his seatbelt on, “do you play any instruments?”
She nods, “guitar and piano. I’ve been playing guitar since I was 4, my dad taught me before he ran off.”
“My dads in prison,” he shares again, “he taught me how to hot wire cars…”
“What else are dads for if not bestowing random knowledge to us before they go away?” She manages to make light of a heavy subject. “Seriously though, I’ve done better without my dad. I’m glad Max never really had to know him. It’s less to be disappointed about.”
“You’re 5 years older than Max… damn, I’m sorry,” he puts it all together. He must’ve left when she was born, or when he realized how difficult it was to have 2 mouths to feed.
“She’s basically my baby, I raised her when my mom wasn’t there…”
“My sister helped raise me a bit before I came here to live with Wayne. She’s 10 years older than me, she lives in Cincinnati now with her husband and 2 kids.”
“Does she talk to you often?”
He nods, “she tries to call once a week and I’ve got photos of my nieces in my wallet, here,” he digs it out of his back pocket and passes it to her while he keeps driving.
She opens up the folded leather to see 2 photos tapped together and slid inside the photo sleeve. One is clearly a school photo of the oldest one, and the other is just a cute photo of a toddler. “Grace is 4 and Amanda is 6,” he adds.
“Curly black hair runs in the family, I see,” she attempts to tease him.
“Okay, red,” he teases her back. “Seriously, I’ve been meaning to ask… was the red trailer a choice? Or?”
She laughs, “I told her people would ask, but my mom said it was a nice trailer… and it was in our price range after she sold the house and paid off the mortgage.”
“Did Billy’s dad just run for the hills after the funeral?” He doesn’t have a hard time asking her the hard questions.
She nods, “he had to find a new family to torment. With all the eyes on us, he couldn’t beat my mom the way he used to beat Billy… and while he wasn’t a good guy, he did take a lot of beatings for my mom.”
“Do me a favour?” He keeps his voice low and caring. “Most girls follow in their mom's footsteps, but if a man ever lays a hand on you, you tell me. I don’t care if I end up sharing a cell with my dad, no one touches a woman and gets away with it.”
He was serious and she believed it. She allowed herself to feel safe with him at that moment, and her guard went slightly down, “most women accept abuse from their partners because they accept the love they think they’re deserving of. If you already don’t like yourself it’s very easy to believe you deserve the beatings… but thank you… I’m actually kinda scared of most men, so, really, thank you.”
“Anytime,” he gives her a sweet smile. “you know, I don’t plan on ever falling in love… it’s too messy.”
She laughs, “you say that now. You’re still a kid.”
“I’m going to be 20 soon,” he shoots back. “I’m fully capable of having my own kids, that makes me an adult, unfortunately. And the adults in my life have never made love look easy or fun or worth it. I don’t want to get all messed up in that.”
She hums as she listens, he wasn’t wrong. “So you plan on being a whore?”
He laughs this time, “yeah! That sounds a lot better if I’m honest.”
“It is fun,” she admits.
“Really? You look too goody-goody?”
“What makes you think that?”
“Your mom said you’re doing a victory lap just because you want to stay closer to Max,” he explains as he turns into the parking lot of the pizza joint. “You don’t need the credits, unlike me, you’ve already graduated and you love to learn.”
He acts like he knows her just from talking to her mom.
“Susan thinks I’m a good girl,” she corrects him. “I’m just trying to get another year of being a senior out of this, I want to see if I can have a better year this time.”
“I thought being a teenager in California meant partying all the time?”
They both hop out of the van and meet at the doors of the pizza place, he opens the door for her and she shakes her head. “Nope, not when you’re career oriented and in a city full of talented people.”
“Ah,” he gives her a sympathetic smile.
“You guys order already?” One of the workers from the back yells to them.
“Yeah, Mayfield, 2 pepperonis?” Eddie yells back.
“5 more minutes!”
“Sounds good, man,” Eddie smacks the countertop with his ring-clad hand. He turns his attention back to Eileen. “You were saying?”
“Oh, just that it was hard making it in California.”
“Did you do a lot of busking?”
She nods, “I played at a few spots throughout the week, and I had a regular show night at The Crowbar… but it was more rock-based so I didn’t get a big crowd.”
“I play for about 5 drunks with my band,” he shrugs, pretending it’s a big deal. “I’ll sign something for you later if you want…”
“Funny,” she tries not to laugh, but the smirk on his face draws her in even more.
He’s handsome. He’s charming. He’s kind.
Fuck.
She was doomed to fall for him.
“What’s your band called?”
“Corroded Coffin.”
“Wow,” she’s impressed. “Can I come see you sometime?”
He nods, “I can even ask Dean at the Hideout to give you a slot on the stage, he’s always looking for more acts to draw out a crowd, and country works here, probably a lot more than my stuff does.”
“You’d do that for me without hearing me play?”
“There was a girl here that sounded like Miss Piggy who is now making it big in Tennessee… I doubt you’re worse than that.”
“Gee, I hope not,” she feels the tiniest bit offended.
He bumps her with his shoulder lightly, “maybe you can play for me later? I didn’t see you moving a guitar or anything today?”
She shakes her head, “nope. Sold it so that we could afford the last bit of our deposit.”
“You can have mine,” he says without giving it a second thought. “I don’t play acoustic very much anymore, the strings might need to be changed but I think I have extras somewhere.”
“Do you just want to sleep with me or something?” She keeps her voice down so no one hears, but she needs to know why he’s being so nice.
He laughs, “what?”
“No one is this nice without needing something in return?”
“I don’t know who hurt you, but, no, that’s not what I’m doing this for. I’ve been the kid mourning in a trailer without the things I love… if you or Max need anything, I’d like to pay it forward.”
“2 pepperoni…” the guy places their pizzas on the counter, interrupting their little spat.
He hands the man all the money, “keep the change.” He picks up the boxes and lets her open the door for him. “Thanks, man.”
“Have a good day!” He calls back with a wave.
She opens the passenger seat and sits down, waiting for him to place the pizza boxes on her lap before she said anything else. “I’m sorry.”
It’s okay, I get why you’re guarded, I can’t expect you to be cool with me being so nice… it’s a bit much, isn’t it?”
She nods, “I just— I guess, I’ve never really had a friend before, so I’m not used to casual kindness?”
He laughs, “I have a few friends, but I don’t have a best friend… I’m always taking applications, however?”
She laughs, “can I do a trial run?”
He nods with a beautiful smile, he wipes the hair out of his eyes and she counts the different colours as she stares into them. Browns, golds, a hint of black, she could get lost in them if she looked too hard.
“Ready to go?” He asks softly and she nods, “hands and feet inside the vehicle?” He checks to make sure and then shuts the door for her.
Ever the gentleman.

The "something else" is Sherlock's facial expressions when John insists on coming with him for the theft.
Sherlock does not want to involve John. I mean, he would have just started with the assumption John was coming with if he did want to involve John.
And then there is this. Like..Sherlock looks annoyed/concerned the whole time John is like "I'm coming with, it involves me, we're partners, even if we end up in the same jail cell."
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
He relents...and eventually his face gets better.
And then I'm stuck trying to figure out the nuance in his facial expressions and I start getting lost.
He looks less grumpy but the line is back on his forehead here. What does that mean?
Tumblr media
This is concerned and has the line so maybe concerned??
Tumblr media
[Also that sentiment. Holy shit Sherlock.]
It's not the same as when he's being obviously sarcastic...
Tumblr media
Like idk where I'm really going with this. I just...idk. There is something complicated going on between Sherlock and John this chapter and I'm trying to like. Find the words to describe it.
This all is the lens for the story of what Sherlock experiences that night. He's laying the groundwork for it...John repeatedly tries to make things go back to normal...but for Sherlock they are anything but.
You can kind of see that in the roof scene too, where John realizes that Sherlock is assuming John won't be involved in his mysteries anymore once he becomes a married man.
And there's this...parallel in Sherlock's language re:John to his language re:William being the Lord of Crime in the conversation on the roof:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I guess I'm just having such a hard time reading Shelock this chapter. He obviously has decided that sacrificing himself for John (and maybe for Liam) is important. He sends John away, letting John assume what he must while also lying about his intentions when going into the house alone... he's certainly not fully answering John's question about the misread and what that means...
[Was he lying about his intentions in the first place? Before all this happened?? Was he always planning to eliminate Milverton?]
Sorry this is so disjointed.
Anyway. Regardless of his intentions...the result is that things are NOT going back to normal, just like he assumed during the conversation on the roof. He protected John from the situation. He is going to jail alone. John can get married without worrying about the evidence against Mary. John may want to go on more adventures...but he doesn't have to worry about doing so while being married because Sherlock has effectively cut him off.
Sherlock communicated his hurt. Communicated that 221b will feel empty without John. Communicated that he has no right to keep John from his life because he likes it better this way.
Like...I do buy "friendship" in this VIZ translation even if I have read Sherlock's feelings as shippy here previously...but it doesn't really matter because there's still this betrayal. And even if Sherlock recognizes the way be was treating Mary was a test to see if she was worthy of John...like there is still this reaction of his to pull back and be like "You don't need her for respect. I respect you, I always have." And like that reaction just breaks my heart a little.
Again. Super rambly, and I don't really have a point, just a lot of feelings.

What's Inside the Witch's Coffin?
I know people that would literally murder me if they knew I put this on the internet. But I don’t see many other options. If I go straight to the cops odds are I’LL get blamed for what happened to my friends and get thrown straight in jail for a multitude of reasons. And I know at least one of them is alive and I need to find them.
I’m a smuggler. I… come into possession of objects I shouldn’t have and sell it to whatever fat cat wants a new piece for their mantle. The Witch Coffin is probably the biggest thing I was gonna try and sneak into the states, but that was because it was a specific ‘request’. The Witch Coffin was discovered in eastern Europe, and to be honest I’m not sure why the buyer wanted it so damn badly. But hey, me and my crew were gonna get a mil and we figured we might as well try, right?
Theft itself went off without a hitch, but the next day I got picked up for being spotted at the scene. That’s all they had, but I still got kept in lock up for three days. Glad they let me out without a fight in the end but the moment I got back to the hideout I knew something was wrong. I could hear the flies buzzing.
There was so much blood. On the walls, on the ceiling, it looked like a guy just went kaboom while standing in the middle of one of the bedrooms. I found body parts scattered all over the house and the coffin was just… gone. What I saw could make a lesser man wet himself.
One of my crew, Nicole, she left her notebook behind. I always teased her about how she scribbled away in that damn thing every chance she got, but it helped clue me in about what happened
I have to find her. Just in case I can’t, or if I meet the same fate as my buddies, maybe one of you can.
~*~
Item was successfully retrieved. Item is a six by three foot coffin made of a blue gray stone, covered with intricate carvings. The lid depicts a carving of a long haired woman, positioned with her arms spread out with a chain in one hand and the other hand appearing to be clawed. I think she once had a face, but time has worn it away. The sides both depict various tortures and executions- drowning, stoning, being burnt at the stake, hanging, etc.
There is definitely something inside, I hear something rattling about as we dragged it off the truck. Finn keeps bugging us about just ‘taking a peek’ but if he so much as lays a finger on the lid I’m breaking said finger. We cannot deliver damaged goods to a client, that would ruin our reputation.
Not that he could lift the lid on his own anyway. Damn thing weighs a ton and kid’s a shrimp.
___
Something’s wrong. Rick has been gone over an hour and he was just supposed to duck out real quick for smokes.
This wouldn’t suck so much if he wasn’t the only one who knew how to contact the client. Abe agrees with me that we just need to lay low until Rick comes back. Finn’s nervous but he doesn’t have the balls to actually bail. He doesn’t know where I stashed our passports anyway.
___
Finn tried to lift the lid. ‘Just for a peek’. And as expected he nearly broke his hand and ended up cutting his palm on one of the sides. Fucking moron.
Abe bandaged him up while I cleaned the coffin up, Finn got some of his blood on it and I didn’t want it to stain. Got most of it off and hopefully the client doesn’t notice anything.
___
Think the heating broke. Abe is taking a look but the temperature dropped from a cozy 70 to a chilly 62. It’s going to get even colder tonight. Time to bundle up and think of those white sand beaches I’ll be vacationing on as I sleep.
___
Wish I had some trazodone left. Having trouble staying asleep. Probably the cold.
Maybe I can get a real prescription when we’re back in the states.
___
Had some strange dreams.
It was like I was walking through a story. Only a member of the audience rather than part of the play.
I saw a woman wearing a flowing, emerald green dress. Her dark hair hid her face from me, but all she was doing was picking various plants and adding them to her basket. Least at first.
Then another woman burst through the undergrowth and fell to her knees. Compared to the woman in the green dress, she looked dirty, simple. I couldn’t understand everything she said, but she kept pointing to the bruise on her face. Looked like someone clocked her good.
The wit woman in the green dress gently took her hands and her voice rung clear as a bell.
‘Come with me, and live joyful and free.’
___
Spiders. I really hate spiders.
There must’ve been a nest in the floor because Finn started screaming and when we ran into the coffin room to tell him to shut his pie hole when we saw the spiders. Big ones, covering the lid of the coffin.
I let Abe deal with that because I have a limit. Tell me to cause a distraction, blow up a truck, steal the crown jewels, I’ll do it. Don’t make me deal with god damn SPIDERS.
___
More fitful sleep just led to more weird dreams. I think my dreams took inspiration from that damn coffin, I swear the woman in green looks just like the carving on the lid.
She was teaching a group of women, least it looked like it. Still couldn’t see her face, but the group ate up her every word. The class was just women, some young as ten or eleven and the oldest looking to be in their seventies.
The woman was picking up certain plants or berries and quietly explaining their uses. Then she pointed to one of the youngest in the front row and asked, ‘Are you ready for your baptism?’
The girl nodded excitedly and the others gave her plenty of space as the woman walked to her. Taking a stone knife from her belt, the woman sliced open a part of her arm and held above the girl’s head.
Scarlet spattered against the girl’s cheeks and tongue before I woke up again. I think I’m staying awake until Rick gets back.
___
Still cold as hell. I’m going to kill Rick if the reason he’s been gone so wrong is because he hit it off with some hooker.
___
Breaking News: Big ole Abe is actually scared of something. Snakes.
Went to go check on the coffin and much to both our surprise there were three big ole guys just curled up on top. Abe screamed like a little girl and ran out of the room. They weren’t even a poisonous variety.
I don’t even know how they got to the coffin because they were sleepy with cold when I picked them up. Coffin itself is even colder. Like touching ice.
Tossed all their scaly butts outside. I wonder if I should tell Abe I once owned a ball python. ___
I must be on edge from the cold. Abe managed to get a lil fire going in the fireplace but I swear to God I saw a shadow while we were all trying to warm up near it. Like a shadow in the hallway. Like of someone heading to the coffin.
I bolted for the hall and back to the coffin room, but no one was there. No one in the rest of the house either and we searched attic to basement. Finn kept teasing me about being paranoid but Abe told me it was all right. When he was still in the army and was patrolling late one night he nearly shot up a bush thinking it was an insurgent. When you’re tired and anxious, it’s natural to see things in the dark.
___
It’s now 55 degrees in the house and dropping. Another five it’ll be the same outside and inside. I was built for Florida. Not this.
___
Found another snake in the coffin room, curled up in the corner. Didn’t recognize the species and Google isn’t telling me squat so I’m not gonna screw with it. I shall call him Herbert. Abe thinks we should call him Satan.
Finn called me paranoid earlier but he is even worse. He thinks the snake came from inside the coffin. Bitch the damn thing has a lid that’s probably over a hundred pounds. Not to mention it fits so well with the box itself a flea probably couldn’t wiggle out.
___
Maybe Finn was right to be paranoid.
I saw more shadows and started searching the house again. I swear I saw someone walking up and down the fucking hallway and I had to be sure. Finn went with me up to the second floor. Still teasing but I was glad not to be alone.
On the way down the stairs Finn suddenly just went flying down, head over heels. Landed on his arm at the bottom and I heard one nasty crunch.
Abe managed to put it in a sling but we can’t go for real help. Not now. We can’t have anyone become suspicious of us. Cops are still on high alert about the Witch Coffin going missing.
I hope that’s not what happened to Rick. Idiot.
___
50 degrees. So freaking tired.
___
I’m officially spooked. This isn’t the first time I’ve transported artifacts. Hell this isn’t even my first time transporting something from a grave.
But the shadows are whispering and the guys can hear them too. I enter a room and I can hear a soft voice. To me it’s just that. Muttering. But the moment Abe or Finn gets in the room that voice turns… Angry. Cold.
I don’t believe in ghosts. I don’t believe in ghosts.
It’s officially colder in the house than it is outside.
___
I don’t know how I fell asleep it’s so fucking COLD and the shadows are getting louder. I can’t make out what they’re saying but I know they’re saying something.
My latest dream. I don’t understand it.
The witch’s house is on fire. All her students are dead. Heads cut off.
The witch herself kneels before a mob. Her chest is full of arrows, her throat has been cut, her legs are broken in so many places… but her wounds still continue to flow with blood and she’s not fucking dying.
I finally catch a glimpse of her face as two men drag her to a box- no not a box. The coffin. She can’t be any older than eighteen. She is just a scared little girl who just wanted to live life in peace with her friends. She doesn’t know why she has these gifts. She doesn’t know why she can’t die. All she knows is that all her friends are now dead and it is her fault.
They throw her in the coffin and before the lid is placed on I hear her scream.
We have to let her out.
___
We are opening the Witch’s Coffin. There are these weird snakes everywhere and spiders are spinning webs of ice. It’s cold enough that I can see my fucking breath.
The coffin itself is bleeding. I thought it was just left over from where Finn cut himself but there is blood dripping from other parts of the coffin now. Parts he didn’t touch.
It is time to free the witch, no matter the consequences.
___
Rick, if you find this, your passport is under the sink in the basement bathroom. Get out of the country. Run for your life.
We opened the coffin and I thought for a second all that was left was bones. Dry. Dusty bones.
Then the lid cracked. Blood began seeping from the bones. Muscles, veins, organs, skin all grew back. The witch’s hair sprouting from her new scalp, growing until it nearly reached her ankles in length.
Then her eyes shot open. Her colorless eyes.
But she could see well enough to lunge at Finn.
Her fingers grew claws and shredded through him like he was tissue paper. He didn’t stand a chance. She ripped off his head and I saw her stick her hand up his neck when Abe tackled her, screaming at me to run. Run as fast as I could.
I hid in the basement. I prayed for God to have mercy on my soul.
But the Witch hasn’t killed me.
When she got to the basement, she was soaked in blood and cradling Abe’s head in her arms. I shut my eyes and prayed she would make it quick.
She sat beside me, stroking Abe’s fluffy hair.
Then I heard Abe’s voice.
“How am I not dead?”
I opened my eyes to look at his head. The Witch had pressed two of her fingers to his lips. His eyes flicked around and his face was frozen in pure terror.
The Witch spoke, her voice strangely younger than I imagined it would be.
“Because. After consuming the other man’s brain, I realized I would need you and the woman. Simple knowledge isn’t enough to survive in such a startling and new world.” She turned her pale gaze on me. Slitted pupils seemed to sprout from the center of her eyes as they focused on me.
“Help me and I give this man a new body.”
She’s in the shower now, not even a foot away from me. Take away the eyes she does look normal enough. Abe’s head can’t talk without her magic, but he’s sentient. I can see the fear in his eyes.
I don’t know if she will actually keep to her word but that’s all I have to go off of.
Rick, please, save us.

Thomas Nathan Teets aka Arthur Storez, Pennsylvania inmate NE1969, born 1985, incarceration intake in 2017 at age 32, sentenced to 15 to 30 years
Murder, Aggravated assault, Abuse of a corpse, Theft, Robbery, Tampering with evidence
A Dawson man will serve 15 to 30 years behind bars for third-degree murder in the death of a Bullskin Township woman, a deal the victim's family agreed to under the assurance they could bring her body home.
Thomas Nathan Teets, 32, pleaded guilty in Fayette County Court to killing Leah Marie Owens, 31, on Sept. 15, 2017. He stabbed her to death and hid her body in a shallow grave where investigators said no one would have ever found her.
"I just pray to God that Leah is at peace now," said her mother, Camilla "Cammy" Crosby, before Teets was sentenced. "It took 45 days. We got her home."
Family members and friends filled the largest courtroom at the Fayette County Courthouse, clutching packs of tissues with dazed expressions, receiving encouraging pats on their shoulders from those already seated. The closest members of the family filed in behind solemn-faced investigators, expressions raw with grief as they faced Teets just days after their fears were confirmed that Owens had been murdered.
Crosby reported her daughter missing Sept. 20 when she failed to check in with family, a regular occurrence for the mother of two. After thousands of hours of investigation, state police charged Teets in her death just days before he pleaded guilty. They did so without having found her body.
After Teets was arraigned on the charges, investigators questioned him throughout the day. State police Cpl. Heather Clem-Johnston, who was in frequent contact with the family throughout the investigation, called Crosby to see if she would agree to the plea bargain if Teets confessed and took them to Owens' body.
She responded, "Bring my daughter home," said District Attorney Rich Bower.
By late afternoon, police said he led them to Owens' body in Dunbar Township.
"Does he deserve more time? In my opinion, yes," Bower said during the sentencing before Judge Steve P. Leskinen. "But we did this for the family, once we knew who the murderer was."
"It's a different situation, and one that's done at great speed," Leskinen said, adding that the plea agreement was below the mitigated range for third-degree murder. "The family's wishes are something we intend to honor."
When the judge asked Teets if he was guilty of all six crimes – third-degree murder, aggravated assault, abuse of a corpse, theft, robbery and tampering with evidence – he responded, "Yes, sir."
Teets remained seated and turned toward Crosby briefly.
"I'd like to say I'm sorry for hurting your family," he said, appearing unemotional.
Earlier this week, Owens' older sister, Lauren Solosky, said the family could not bear to sit through days of a trial listening to the details of her death after already waiting five weeks to learn her fate. She called the waiting process a "nightmare" for Owens' family and friends.
Shane Gannon, who was representing Teets through the Fayette County Public Defender's Office, said he was involved with the case for several weeks, since late September when Teets was jailed for contempt in a domestic case. Teets told the judge he was satisfied with his representation.
Crosby, who is battling cancer, said she would wake up every morning wondering if her daughter's disappearance was only a nightmare. She would wake often wake up in the middle of the night.
"Pouring down rain, and the wind is blowing, and it's cold. And you pray to God your child isn't freezing. She's not getting wet," she said. "It was horrendous for all those days."
The morning of the murder, Owens went with Teets to Crosby's home. Both times, Owens asked for money, which investigators said was to pay a debt to Teets. Solosky also wired Owens money that day.
Owens left her mother's house, saying she would be back in 20 minutes after taking a shower. Crosby left for her radiation treatment.
"But I never heard from Leah again after that, and I knew within hours – mother's intuition – that something bad had happened. I knew it," she said.
She went door-to-door, asking about her daughter's whereabouts. Meanwhile, Teets dug a grave about two-feet deep and buried Owens' body, less than one mile from where investigators said he bought drugs.
"It was in a heavily thicketed area where, in our opinion, no hunter or anyone else would have stumbled upon Leah," said Bower.
Charges were filed after lab results matched Owens' DNA to blood found on a knife blade and identified Teets' blood on the handle. The knife was found in a Owens' abandoned car by Normalville fire department. Owen's blood was also found on the car.
Teets cut off part of his finger during the stabbing, which Bower described as a permanent reminder of his crimes, dubbing him "the nine-fingered man."
Teets confessed he murdered Owens to many people, according to Bower. The keys of Owens' vehicle were found hidden in a vent in his house.
Members of the family exchanged hugs with investigators as they left the courthouse.
"I wanted Leah home. I don’t know what my future holds. None of us know what our future holds," Crosby said. "We needed Leah home for her closure and for the closure of her babies, and for all this I thank everybody from the bottom of my heart."

Whisper is walking through the halls of the Restoration, carrying a fold with a rather thick stack of papers. It'd only been a day since the incident at the newly establish powerplant, though the wolf didn't want to waste much time in finding out what Wave did with the Chaos Emerald as so far neither Storm nor Jet have talked.
Soon enough Whisper made it to the interrogation where Jet was being held, walking in, closing and locking the door behind her. It wasn't fully needed as the hawk's was cuffed to the table, though better safe that sorry. The wolf would walk table, pulling out the chair and taking a seat across from the Rogue leader. She'd set down the folder and opened it up.
Tumblr media
"Jet the Hawk, leader of the Babylon Rogues, and one of the most wanted thief's on Mobius. You've got a long record of crimes and thefts on your record. More recently a powerplant housing a Chaos Emerald which was intended to produce clean, safe, and free energy to people who are already struggling to get by." Was Whisper attempting to guilt trip Jet? Maybe a little, though doubts it'd move the hawk too much. The wolf would also flip though the various pages as she spoke.
"With that said, the Restoration is taking into account your efforts in assisting with the Zeti and helping stop the Metal Virus. Now, if you'd be willing to listen, I can cut you a deal." Whisper was sure Jet knew what she wanted from him, though thought it best to make sure he was willing to play balls.

"Jeez, this guy has done a lot of bad stuff. How does the Restoration manage to keep track of it all?" Tangle spoke aloud, mainly to herself as she too had a was carrying a file with a thick stack of papers. "Why do I gotta do this interrogation stuff anyway? Everyone knows I'm better at fighting and smashing bots." Then again the lemur did get in a bit of trouble after Lanolin found out about her plan to trip the fire alarm to get everyone to leave.
Soon Tangle was at the door, though would take a moment to amp herself up. "Alright, you got this Tangle. You beat him in a fight, just gotta beat him with your brain power." With that pep-talk to herself the lemur entered the room Storm was in. The albatross was cuffed to the table as well, though also had cuffs connect to the ground and his were way more heave duty give his size. She'd take a seat at the table, setting the folder down, though didn't open it up.
Tumblr media
"So, Storm. You've done a lot of bad stuff, and I mean a LOT. You got this folder here with a bunch of your crimes on it, and there is a lot on it. Though honestly, all that legal stuff isn't my strong suit," Tangle said, pushing the folder to the side. "Your pal Wave stole the emerald and we wanna know who she gave it to. So just spill the beans and we can wrap this up fast." The lemur felt like she was forgetting something, though thankfully after a moment of thinking she remembered.
Tumblr media
"Oh, and the Restoration is willing to shave off some of your jail time if ya talk seeing as you and the other's helped with the whole Zeti issue during the Metal Virus stuff. Thanks for that by the way. I heard you guys were real team players." Tangle was willing to give credit where credit was do.

Afterthoughts on Puss in Boots 1 & 2
Hey guys, so I just saw Puss in Boots 2; The Last Wish. And while I do love it? There's one big problem I have with it. The relationship between Puss & Kitty. Now I do love these two and absolutely ship them but the problem I have is the way they are shown in the movies side by side.
In the first movie? Puss was running from the law out of survival when he was set up by his Ex-friend and Brother, Humpty Alexander Dumpty. Puss wasn't a full on criminal until the robbery of The San Ricardo Bank. He had given up on petty theft and decided to help people in the community of San Ricardo. He even says how this was thier home and the people didn't do anything to hurt them. So Humptys betrayal hurt Puss and cost him his home, his mom, and his honor. At this point, he's a hit man and thief for hire out of survival.
Enter Kitty Softpaws who is also a solo thief. Known for her stealth and having "The Softest Touch in Spain". She was a stray with lovely claws. She was adopted by a loving couple but after a few too many mishaps involving her claws (scratching curtins and rough housing with a hamster & accidently killing it) so she was declawed. She's working with Humpty to get the golden goose and it's golden eggs. What's left unknown how much of the plan she knew. Its not clear if she knew that Humpty was planning to backstab Puss or to destroy San Ricardo via the Great Terror aka golden goose's momma. Regardless, she ends up sharing the betrayal in Puss's eyes. She admits to him that Puss shows her that she's found something she cares about more than gold. No, someONE. The two team up to stop Humpty and they are successful in not only saving the town but in redeeming Humpty.
Now the second movie hints at how Puss and Kitty were going to get married but Puss didn't show up. This isn't out of character since Puss has always run from his problems. I mean it was only when his mother begged him to stop running that he surrendered and went to jail peacefully when he could have escaped just fine. But before it was out of survival. As time went on, he gradually became addicted to the thrill of defying death. I mean if he has 8 extra lives to spare, so why should he be worried? This fed his pride in his legend, his adrenaline rush, and his biggest flaw: running away from his problems and consequences. Its only in the Cave of Lost Souls that he realizes how empty his lives have truely been.

It also hints at there were more times when Kitty faced betrayal by others, not just her infamous declawing. But what always throws me is how she's hyper aggressive about how Puss left her in Santa Colomba yet she later claims she didn't show up either. That she's never had someone she could trust.
I know she's lying about not showing up but maybe it's not Puss she's mad at. Maybe, it's that she's mad at herself because now she knows how it feels to stab someone you love in the back only to have it done to you in return, intentionly and directly or otherwise. Or in laments terms? Professionally, she's used to being betrayed and being the betrayer. Comes with being a solo thief. But in personal relationships? She's only used to being the betrayed, NOT the betrayer.
Remember; she stabbed Puss in the back first. Now he's returned the favor. She's mad at both him and herself. She's using his obsession with his legend and image as a justification for her anger without actually talking about the root issue. How do I know? Look at what the map shows her:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Puss is learning how his reckless lifestyle has left him alone and with even death himself wanting Puss gone for good. But Kitty is essentially running from herself and how for years? The only person who she's ever felt safe around is the same person she betrayed. She's running from her guilt, her loneliness, and her fear of betrayal.
