✨"I will never change, but I'll never stay the same either." - Taylor Swift ✨26 was quite the year. It definitely wasn’t the year I had in mind but rather a quite eventful yet dramatic one. I found myself on emotional rollercoasters, tons of drama would just creep up on me unexpectedly and I felt like I was being thrusted by the wind in all different directions, trying to stand my ground. More than anything I’m so thankful that God pulled through in countless and endless ways, as He took me out of dire situations and placed me in safe places yet reminding me how my dreams matter. He’s so faithful even when the journey of life is rough and His love was constant especially in moments when I felt like crumbling. I’m thankful to have turned 27, to leave all that’s behind me as I step into a new age/ new era full of healing and embracing freedom like never before. It’ll be a year where I pursue His peace that transcends all understanding but not allowing circumstances to shake mine either. ✨Is it worth the cost of your heart? ✨ How many times have we disregarded our hearts and allowed people to trample on them? How many times have we been blind sighted by our assumptions and disguises of “love” that it distorts our view, covering it with rose tinted glasses? Glossing over situations when our hearts needed to be guarded the most? Instead we allow it to get broken, battered and bruised, trying to be “seen”. We undervalue how precious our hearts are. We begin to realize the detrimental costs when our hearts are unprotected, leaving us in agonizing pain, emotional exhaustion, & being so drained that it wanes us out, despite trying to see the best in people. We lose sight of what’s important along the way. It’s not always the case but it happens. When we take the risk of opening our hearts so much where we love deeply, intimately & intensely, it could be the most beautiful love to have ever blossomed with the right people. More than anything, our hearts are meant to be valued, treasured, cherished, loved, protected and taken care of. When we surround ourselves with loved ones who uplift our souls, they remind us of how invaluable we are and how worthy our hearts are. More importantly, God who loves us more than we could ever know. He knows every intricate detail of our hearts, our lives. When we wear our hearts on our sleeves, it can be the most beautiful risk but also the most gut-wrenching pain and turmoil we’ll experience depending on who we allow in. Have wisdom and discernment as you love people accordingly. Don’t be so easily deceived and know how precious and amazing you are. Your heart is a wellspring of life, everything flows from it and it’s ok to choose you. Pick yourself Queen/King! If someone can’t handle or treat you right, walk away/keep them at arm’s length/love them from a distance. If you’ve been so tattered and torn: allow your heart to grieve and take your time in letting your heart heal and “feel” again from the numbness of it all.
