MHA chapter 420 rant
New chapter new rant it's become somewhat of a thing at this point 😭
So hori's out here deflating any stakes or tension as always. I personally hated what happend last chapter with Izuku losing both his arms but I did wish for hori to continue on the path he chose instead of completely reversing it with some bs in this chapter. Heck I don't understand how Eri even had enough energy to heal his arms considering it was stated chapters before that she couldn't and shouldn't help Izuku it wasn't her fight and neither should she be forced to watch what's going on but here we are.
Tumblr media
Heroes are hypocrites when it comes to Eri and she deserves better. Oh Eri the ever so lasting plot device. As someone that likes Eri's character and wished for her trauma and what she went through to be explored this is just bs and shows that the heroes are incompetent hypocrites at their jobs for allowing Eri to mutilate herself (the same thing overhaul did to himself) so she can be useful to these people who she views as her saviours?!?!?! Let's not even tall about the fact that ECTOPLASM stated that he helped her with that and allowed her to do that like?!?!? You're an adult who is supposed to be supervising the child and you almost failed to stop her from running away into the battlefield but allowed her to do that to herself. Let's also talk about how aizawa horribly failed as a guardian like its clearly stated in the chapter that she did want she did because she was inspired by aizawa and how he cut his leg off so she mimicked him so she can be helpful?!?! Aizawa isn't angry, worried or disappointed but shocked and that's it nothing else he doesn't even reprimand her like seriously 😑.
Tumblr media
Present mic and kurogiri deserves better. We still don't know where present mic is but he deserves better than this I still hate how his feelings aren't acknowledged in this bs and he is just there pushed to the side as support. Kurogiri is a mix at this point they seem to realise that oh oboro is dead he ain't coming back but kurogiri is acting on memories that haven't died and to be honest Iam sick of hori drawing the same memory panel over and over we should just get new content show us them play fighting or doing something that friends do idk 🤷‍♀️
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Wasted potential aizawa at this point. I lasted made a post about aizawas wasted potential but dam does it really show and basically at this point hori reduced all the characters involved in the kurogiri situation to just that and it's sad like we could of had more and we should of. Aizawa was doomed from the start as he was hori's mouthpiece which sucks
Tumblr media
Iam not a fan of everyone coming in to fight AFO. I already hate the fact that AFO is back but having everyone who hasn't had a big moment or can still fight yet come into the fight is horrible. Iam ok with having a few characters come in but having some endgame avengers type of thing is horrible especially because class 1A and izuku aren't shown to have a strong bond a lot of the time it's one of the reasons why the vigilante arc fails and why a lot of other moments concerning class 1A and izuku fail.
Tumblr media
Iam a fan of the civilians trying to help however they can but no inko?!?!!?!!. I loved that we got the page of civilians genuinely wanting to help Izuku and offering their shirts to stop the bleeding also even though we don't get much from the all might guy I genuinely loved the development he has gone through. Sadly, I was expecting to see inko in this chapter and considering we had a whole page dedicated to the civilians it's sad that we didn't get any update on inko as she was probably there watching what happend to her son
Tumblr media
Eri's dream. I loved that Eri's dream is something way outside of heroics and it's something that doesn't involve her quirk at all. It makes me remember of izuku holding her hand and telling her that he supports her dream. I wonder if Eri and jirou hang out often or anything considering that jirou is Eri's inspiration or if present mic also inspired Eri. it's sad that Eri's character is never truly explored considering what happend to her this chapter and the double standards that are with both heroes and villains.
Tumblr media
ALSO MONOMA YOU DESERVE BETTER YALL TELLING ME THAT DENKI ALREADY QUIRK EXHAUSTED IS OUT HERE FIGHTING BUT MONOMA CANT FOR SOME REASON IS VILE

Different Anon but on a similar note, how would you view a character's transition from Vigilante to Hero? It always felt weird to me in fics where Villains are enabled to become Heroes for reasons I couldn't pin down until I saw your post but many Vigilante fics have the character be an unrepentant asshole about why they are breaking the law. It (usually) isn't intended by the author but the character (most often Vigilante!Izuku, quirked or otherwise) comes across as a swarmy jerk.
It tended to feel like the authorities were rewarding the Vigilante character for ignoring the law which, as you pointed out, Villains would very much not get a pass in that setting thanks to the black/white viewpoint and how a single black mark can ruin a life. Vigilantes may be 'better' than Villains but they're still acting outside the law to do whatever they want and damn the consequences. Not that laws are always right or just but the characters would have their own opinions about it.
Tumblr media
It's interesting you say this because we actually have an entire manga to pull from when it comes to vigilantes interacting with and becoming heroes. Oddly enough, the heroes' response to vigilantes seems pretty lax. They don't want the vigilantes to be doing what they do since it breaks the rules, but they don't do anything big to stop them. However, I would chalk that up to Koichi and the gang being lucky, keeping a very low profile, and always running away when they need to. They only took care of small crimes that no one really knew or cared about and only had hidden or underplayed roles in the big events, making them ignorable additions to any problem. The most consistent showings of vigilantes interacting with heroes have been with Tensei, Aizawa, and Captain Celebrity. The nicest and most understanding guy on the planet, a habitual rulebreaker, and someone whose head is constantly in the clouds. I'm certain that if someone more aggressive or orderly were to come across a vigilante, such as Best Jeanist or Endeavor, or if the vigilante did something especially reckless or stupid, like Gentle or Izuku's own attempts at heroism, they wouldn't be anywhere near as forgiving.
As for vigilantes becoming heroes, I think it would depend on the context. Unlike other villains in the series, a lot of the vigilantes we've seen tend to hide their identities. Now, if someone was more outspoken and reckless about who they were, they wouldn't be allowed to become a hero. Like you said, they broke the law and used their Quirk without proper training. For most of them, though, it could be as easy as giving up being a vigilante and training to become an official hero. And if a hero knew someone who was a vigilante, they may even facilitate it. We were told by Tensei that heroes could take people under their wing to train them until they could get a license, like what he offered Koichi. He didn't know that Koichi was the Crawler at the time, but when he learned that, he only turned back on that deal because he thought Koichi had found his place as a vigilante. I could see a situation where hero does that in secret. Unlike villains, who mostly use their Quirks for selfish or harmful reasons, vigilantes' worst crimes are trying to help people without the proper paperwork. Illegal, but far from unforgivable. So I think that all of that mixed together would make transitioning from vigilante to hero a lot easier and more understandable than villains doing it.

TheLreads, Vigilantes ch 96, Replies Part 2
1) “Oh, now you’re gonna take care of the hospital and of the critical witness inside? Really. And you’re not even comment about the fact that they were doing vigilantism by guarding the entrance?
Oh no wait, you are commenting on it, and it pretty much is “good work on your illegal operation, now you’re gonna help us right?””- The thing that undercuts Phelps’ argument is that neither he nor Soga argue that what either one is doing is actually wrong, it’s just that the sticking point is how much each is willing to devote the effort into keeping Pop safe. Phelps is correct that beefing up security really lowers Nomura’s odds and keeps civilians like Soga safe, but Soga’s also correct that the police’s bigger manpower takes too long to mobilise and can’t be directed towards guarding pop 24/7, so all Nomura needs to do is wait for a moment when their guard is down and strike once. The trio are willing to guard the hospital, however ineptly, as long as it takes for Pop to wake up, but they can’t handle Nomura in a fight, but whilst the police are better equipped to face him, they can’t maintain guard all the time either. And there’s no middle ground between both sides, even if the trio are willing to cooperate, because Phelps’ job requires him to stop vigilante activity- and them having a competent vigilante on their side means Koichi has to be removed so the jurisdiction of Pop’s wellbeing falls squarely under the purview of the authorities, and not kids taking matters into their own hands, well-intentioned as they may be.
(Vigilantes ch 54)
2) “Oh, you mean that its okay to break the rules when it comes to save people in need? That for those that you love you’re willing to cast aside the laws you follow, is that what you’re saying Phelps? Is that? That is pretty interesting, Phelps… Pretty interesting indeed… It’s interesting that it’s okay to act like that now, Phelps… I wonder how you’ll react to other people that break the rules to protect people in need…”- As it turns out, he’ll still arrest them, but this time he’s willing to do so from a place of understanding and concern for their wellbeing and those around them. It’s an important difference, as Phelps isn’t blind to the good they want to do, nor admitting that they’re totally wrong to try and help others like this, but when they have law enforcement and other heroes around to help them, they shouldn’t have to risk themselves when he’s there precisely to risk himself in their place. How effective he can be, on the other hand, given his track record against Nomura, is another all entirely.
3) “This conversation is just being a fucking trip, are we really having this talk? For real Phelps? After that dramatic ending last chapter?”- The trio are not front-line hero fighters, and are at best, Koichi’s “guy in the chair”. Therefore, Phelps is ok with their “aid” as it won’t mean much in the end, but Koichi himself is an entirely different matter. 4) “Nice fucking going Phelps, you really took the reins of this shit didn’t you.”- Notably, Phelps switches topics to the subject of Koichi and how he needs to be brought in, rather than continue a debate with Soga that he doesn’t really have a good ground to argue on.
5) “I can’t believe that midnight as a pro hero was about to enlist civilians to work in a villain matter.”- Midnight’s concern is keeping the young girl safe, and as she’s a friend of Aizawa’s, she’s a little looser with the rules and regulations than Phelps is.
6) “Took only some three years of him doing that completely unbothered for anyone to care.”- I like to think this was Phelps’ own way of playing “loose” with the regulations and not targeting Koichi outright, so long as the line wasn’t crossed….but the whole Bee Pop incident was the point of no return for them all.
7) “Oh my god Phelps, are you trying to frame this as “it’s for his own protection” when it was literally your job to have him arrested those last three years? Also, remember the sky egg? I think that already came and went”- Phelps really doesn’t have any good hands to work with here, but his job demands he go out and play the cards he’s been dealt now, rather than letting him have a better justification to take Koichi in after he willingly didn’t press the issue of his vigilantism before.
8) “Yeah, I bet this was planned, you’re gonna give him a secret signal to run away, aren’t ya?”- Ready for a serious Roadrunner chase? Beep Beep. 9) “oh my fucking godddd… Phelps, if you didn’t noticed that there was something wrong I could have excused it, but you noticed that the wording was suspicious and you STILL let him call Koichi?”- I bet he wasn’t quite expecting them to so bold-facedly go against the authorities right in front of his face like that, given they had some leeway into not being arrested if they cooperated there and then.
10) “You- You gonna let him escape? Do you guys remember the fact you have guns?”- Well, Soga not exactly resisting arrest with his Quirk, so they can’t open fire on a civilian so easily. This isn’t America.
11)“….
You two fuckers just didn’t want to run right?
Also, what cooperation Midnight? Between the law enforcement and those guys? Are we still doing that?”- I assume she means that the heroes are cooperating with the police in the effort to guard the hospital…and also catch Koichi, now that he’s officially on the run and won’t turn himself in.
12) “IT’S TENSEI
AND HE’S GONNA GO AFTER KOICHI
actually now that I think about it that’s a really stupid idea considering Koichi’s higher mobility and the fact he’s actually faster than tensei
but still
HOLY FUCK HE’S BACK”- Well, faster in turning, anyway. Tensei can likely beat Koichi in a straight-line race, so it’ll come down to how many sidekicks he has to cordon off Koichi’s escape routes to locations that favour his own speed-style.
(Vigilantes ch 74) 13) “I love the fact that you reminded me that you know that Koichi is a illegal hero. you know, since this page from chapter 3
,,,meant sooooo much for the story…”- It just didn’t come into play until the final arc, when the stakes had gotten serious enough that Koichi could be targeted by the same heroes he’d been working alongside up to that point.
14) “It’s so good to see you again but holy fuck is this gonna be a short-lived chase, even with your sidekicks giving support.
The first building koichi goes up and the chase is over.”- I wonder if Tensei’s hero agency is rich enough to rent helicopters, in order to keep track of Koichi?
15) “HELL YEAH MY MAN IS BACK
AND HE’S GONNA BE HUMILIATED BY KOICHI IN THE SPEEDSTER CATEGORY
AGAIN
BECAUSE HE’S CHASING THE CRAWLER ON HIS HOMETURF, AND THAT’S NOT EVEN TAKING INTO ACCOUNT THE AGILITY THING
BUT BOY AM I EXCITED TO SEE THIS SHIT”- Honestly, I kinda wish there’d been more speed-racing rivalry between Koichi and Tensei before this, so this serious match-up had more gravitas between two racers who know the other’s tricks and Quirks inside and out.   16) “It seems that now that we’re approaching the endgame of the story Furuhashi is trying to flip the status quo to cash in some conflict, which, sure, it’s not a bad idea, but the timing of it is a bit late in my opinion. There’s only 30 chapters to go, so this means that everything from here ownward is gonna have to rush it’s pace to be over before the credits roll. By now we should already have the conflict rolling on high gear rather than just starting to speed it up. Shame we had that whole flashback arc that took more than 10 chapters.”- I was honestly working off the opinion that all these events were the climax of “Part 2” of the narrative when it first came out, and “Part 3” was gonna be Koichi dealing with the Villain Factory’s overseers directly whilst being actively hunted by the law. Sadly, didn’t work out that way, but I am still left feeling things were somehow cut short in the end. @thelreads

MHA Class 1-A ProHero Headcannons
Because I wanna pretend Manga Chapter 362 isnt happening LOL. I was just texting these to a friend but thought I’d put them here too. So not too detailed or based on much, just for fun :)
Also I’m ignoring a lot of Manga stuff and spelling oofs. And ALSO also, two students dont get a happy ending :( just fyi.
____
Bakugou Katsuki: Bakugou wpuld be ranked #2 because theres no way he’s NOT gonna get to #2 if he can’t be #1
Eijiro Kirishima: He would be the #1 Hero
Izuku Midoryia: Deku would be at #3, and perfectly happy with it because he learns he doesnt need to be #1 to be the hero he’s always wanted to be
Shoto Todoroki: Todoroki, after spending a year in the Hero Industry, discovers his passion for police work and joins the police force. He realizes he’s never needed to be a Hero to help people, and he can follow his dreams his way
Ochaco Uraraka: Uraraka is the #9 Pro Hero(and 1 of 3 females in the top 10 rank)and takes part in a lot of sponsorships. Which at first made the public think she was shallow, and Uraraka thought for a while she was going to have to go on a super annoying talk show just to set the record straight. But then more and more photoage of her kindness and compassion in Rescue Hero Missions went viral and soon people didnt care that she was in so many ads because she was a good hero
Kyoko Jiro: Jiro is ranked #10, and is considered the most beautiful hero. Its un related to her work and rank, but the public has decided shes the most beautiful. Which actually makes Jiro really happy, because it gives her an outer confidence she didnt have in school.
Tsuyu Ausui: Froppy is not in the top 10 heros. However, on top of Hero Work she also stars in a childrens TV show :)) I just feel like she would LOL
Momo Yaoyorozu: Momo was on her way to becoming the 1# Hero, but only got to #5 before she left the profession. She went on to become a professional Financial Agent for Heroes trying to achieve personal goals.
Mina Ashido: Mina is the #5 hero
Tooru Hagakure: Hagakure is the #4 Hero, you could say she snuck up the ranks ;)
Tenya Iida: Iida is the #8 Hero. And while he of course works to be better and climb up the ranks, the world did eventually learn about the STAIN incident and he’s been having trouble with gaining public approval.
Mezo Shouji: Is the #7 Hero, and is considered a handsome hero. He’s super flattered because he was always considered creely looking. But now as an adult he’s considered mysterious and alurring
Denki Kaminari: Denki is the #6 Hero and is a huge role model for nerodivergents. It was a huge thing when he “came out” as having ADHD on live TV. It was when he was being interviewed after a mission and he kept looking all around. The reporter asked if he was looking for something, if there was a villain— but Denki just laughed and said “sorry i forgot my ADHD meds today!”.
Mashirao Ojiro: Ojiro became a teacher at UA for martial arts and self defense, and the students admire him for his soft and kind voice. All Might is loud(even in skinny form)and Aizawa can be harsh. Ojiro is the perfect balance :)
Fumikage Tokoyami: Tokoyami worked very hard as a Hero, but could never gain the public approval required even as an underground Hero. He and Dark Shadow went off the grid and now work as vigilantes.
Kouji Kouda: Koda works in more remote areas, a rescue Hero for natural disasters. He uses his quirk with the Local Wildlife that just can’t be found in the cities.
Hanta Sero: Works in very crowded and run down cities. Because he works in smaller yet packed places, he has a more personal relationship with the people he protects. Think spiderman
Rikido Sato: Because of his quirk, he wasnt liked very much. People thought he encorraged unhealthy diets, and that he looked big and scary. Rikido snapped after 3 years in the Hero industry, and is now a villain. He is known by other villians as loud and violent.
Yuuga Aoyama: An average Hero, but not a bad one. He often partners with Uraraka in advertisments and guest stars on Froppy’s kid show
Minoru Mineta: After watching a famous Hero become ‘cancelled’ for sexual assault, Mineta worked to change his veiw points. He’s making progress, but is staying out of the Spotlight just in case.
___
Ok I think that was everyone LOL. Again, these were just for fun! Not a lot of thought into them lol. Kay byyyye!

OK already tried to post this but there was an error while trying to post it and now it’s stuck in the Tumblr void. since it’s quarter past 11 at night I don’t feel like rewriting the entire thin so here’s the shorter version. I’m going to watch my hero academia purely so i can write the a fic. here’s some points about the fic
- Todoroki never goes to Ua. h runs away from home and accidentally becomes a vigilante.
- very strongly against Endeavour. he gets no redemption
- it will be mostly neutral towards all might.
- Todoroki fights villains and corrupt heroes and it builds up to him exposing endevour
- I may give some villains a redemption arc. Dabi will definitely get a redemption arc. this will mainly be because Todoroki will be a badass who scares them.
will be eventual Todoroki harem/ todobowl, but will include other ships as well. also may be more hinted or implied than official but most people grow to love him either platonically as well as romantically.
- Aizawa and present mic never officially adopt him and he doesn’t live with them but they do help him when he needs it and takes care of them.
Todoroki isn’t quite as clueless in terms of pop culture and stuff, he’s been planning to run away for a while, and sneakily bought a computer so he could learn more about pretty much everything he’d need to know to survive. however’ he’s still socially awkward, blunt and doesn’t show emotions. add to this the fact that the personality he develops is best described as chaotic little shit and, well, it’s easy enough to pretend not to understand things and watch people struggle to explain them to him. he also loves pissing people off, flustering people and confusing people.
- in addition to this he decides to just do and say whatever he wants, address misunderstandings and offer apologies whenever necessary, and more or less just go with the flow. this lands him in some strange and chaotic moments.
the main focus of this fic is him becoming a vigilante and making friends mostly accidentally. he will be badass. there will be a lot of fluff and friendship things, and later Todoroki family minus Endeavour will get a happy ending but it will be a long journey as Dabi will have to make up for hurting Todoroki’s friends. There will also be angst and hurt and comfort and eventual, slowburn romance.
- It will probably start off with the same events still happening in UA, just more spread out so I can develop Todoroki more, but will probably deviate around the time Bakugo gets taken by villains. also deku and todoroki are instant besties and deku helps however and whenever he can. he may or may not stay quirkless and just become a vigilante or switch from hero to vigilante. others may also become vigilantes though it probably won’t be the whole class
anyway, this is a rough plan as someone whose only seen up to the first encounter with villains but is subject to change as i decide which characters i like and want to include and which ones i don’t.

Mahi Kaze-a girl with long straight light brown hair, fair skin, and blue eyes. Quirk: Paralyzing Breath-she emits a blue smoke from her mouth that paralyzes you when breathed in. Hero Name: Paralysis Hero Static Notes: I got inspired by a Vigilante Shinso Fanfiction with a girl named Tobe aka Rai I genuinely thought her hair was brown instead of blue I forgot the name but credit goes to the writer I genuinely fell in love with her this is just a tribute to Tobe. Also she kept her maiden name to avoid Paparazzi in her love life.
Midori Kaji-a Girl with a black spiky pixie cut, toxic green eyes, and freckles. Quirk: Toxic Blaze-she can create toxic green fire from her hands that is toxic to anyone breathing in the fumes. Villain Name: Toxi Notes: I got inspired by a Villain Deku Animatic by Galaxy Angelina My Favorite being Part 3 Nightmare honestly one of the best animatics ever created.
Daiki Hōshasei-a boy with short straight silvery-grey hair, green-yellow Skin, and yellow biohazard ☣️ eyes. Quirk: Radioactive-he can make his skin radioactive at will he is also able to control the potency and is immune to radioactivity Civilian Job: Radiation Oncologist Notes: He is Married To Mahi and have a daughter named Fumiko
Fumiko Hōshasei-a girl with a Silvery-grey straight pixie cut and green biohazard ☣️ eyes Quirk: Radioactive Breath-she emits green smoke from her mouth that is radioactive she can control the potency of it. Hero Name: Radiation Hero Raidi Notes: Sorry can't figure out how to change this color Also She is really good a Medical and Nuclear Disaster Support and had a hard time trying to figure out how to help people with her quirk as a hero she carries Tablets that absorb radiation for Villains she's caught.
Fuka Aisō-a beautiful girl with long wavy Aquamarine hair, fair skin, and aqua blue eyes. Quirk: Siren-she can make a person fall in love with her and do what she wants at will by singing she can control 3 people at once and they have to be attracted to women. Vigilante Name: Siren
Kako Shiryoko-a Half German Half Japanese Boy with a straight blonde bob, short stature, and green eyes. Quirk: Past Touch-anything his fingers touch he can see the past of however it makes his hands very sensitive and certain textures send something akin to a seasure through him he wears very special soft gloves to counteract this and to stop his quirk from activating. Hero Name: The Psychic Hero Past Life Notes: He is inspired by a dream I had and my sensory processing disorder I had a bad experience with a lotion glove and I had something similar to a seasure it was awful I'm in the process of getting gloves I have to feel something before I buy it it's really annoying and I had a dream about being a Jewish German boy in WW2 during the night of broken glass I truly believe it was a past life. Also his hero gloves have a eye pattern in the middle and the tips come off so he can touch things he's really good at rescue and recovery.
Aimi Shiryoko-a Half Korean half Japanese girl with a dark brown almost black straight pixie cut and beautiful central heterochromic eyes(look it up they're gorgeous). Quirk: Love at First Sight-anyone she looks in the eye falls in love with her and is immobilized the downside is if she blinks it'll fall away it however does not give her dry eye like Aizawa. Hero Name: The Attraction Hero Love at First Sight Notes: She is based on my best friend Who I am madly in love with problem is she's straight doesn't mean I love her any less even if I'll never be with her in the way that I want she has a rare eye mutation called central Heterochromia unlike Todoroki who has regular Heterochromia She has 2 colors in both eyes they are always a minty green and I wanna say amber or gold it affects 1 percent of the population they are absolutely breathtaking to look at and I'm autistic I barely know my parents eye colors. I have trouble looking people in the eye. She wore purple eyeshadow to prom long story short I tripped and ripped my dress. Not my smoothest moment but no regrets.

Quirkless AU:
1) What happens when Gran Torino joins in the chaos? I am wondering if Toshi is just barely the right age to remember him?
2) Toshi is a teen/ pre-teen boy and Midnight is… well… Midnight. How is Toshi going to respond to that?
3) Can Toshi see Izuku’s dorm room? It would be fabulous if Toshi had already created All Might in his head as his hero persona if only he had a quirk.
4) What does Izuku think of Toshi? Suddenly here is this kinda cool teen DEFENDING him and being kind (to their group at least).
5) How are the kids pretending to have quirks? Are they just inventing clever things that they can make it SEEM like they have control over?
6) ohhh, do they find out about the kids’ hidden quirklessness because Monoma tries to steal a quirk and there’s nothing to take? Or does Aizawa try to turn off one of their fake quirks, and nothing happens?
7) Does Aoyama’s bedazzled gun shoot glitter? Please make it shoot glitter!
I LOVE this AU idea:)
Tumblr media
Toshi’s old enough to know Gran Torino as ‘that fast guy who’s always seen with the pretty hero that helped me out before I yeeted to the future’. Gran Torino is also one of the only adults to know Toshi’s tragic backstory so he’s much nicer to him here than how he usually is in canon. And of course he loves Izuku and Melissa. He is alarmed to find out that one of Izuku’s classmates was a victim to AFO’s manipulations but he’s just happy the kid feels a little safer now than he probably felt before
The kids think Midnight is great and super cool. Toshi however is very suspicious of the bdsm queen. He’s already weirded out by Aizawa, who keeps staring at him weirdly, and Mic’s far too loud and excitable for his enjoyment, but miss whip and bondage is another thing entirely. Add that to the fact that he’s managed to figure out that her quirk can knock him out in an instant and he doesn’t trust her at ALL. It takes a lot for her to try to get him to trust her even just a little
Toshi actually isn’t convinced that the All Might guy Izuku keeps talking about and has posters of it himself, rather he thinks that ‘All Might’ is some guy who stole his symbol of peace idea. After all, All Might has a quirk, and Toshi knows the only way you can get a quirk as a quirkless person is through the Quirk Stealer, and Toshi isn’t that desperate for a quirk
Izuku thinks Toshi’s the coolest person in the world tbh. He doesn’t know any quirkless people in his neighborhood, and suddenly there’s this quirkless teen in front of him who not only defends him from bullies, but also encourages him and is pushing him to do vigilantism, which is basically hero work without a license? Sign him up! It also helps that Toshi’s a tall teen, and thus can help with things like grabbing the good snacks on the top shelf of the cabinets. And he sounds a lot like All Might!
It’s honestly not that hard for Izuku and Yuuga to make up excuses not to use their ‘quirks’. Izuku broke his bones nearly every time he used his quirk for a month, while Yuuga’s gets some serious stomach issues without his belt, and there isn’t a fitted belt nearby. Therefore the kids don’t really see a reason to pester them about their quirks. As for Toshi, the kids were confused as to why Toshi never used his quirk, but after the Monoma Incident™ where he gave Monoma a black eye and broken nose without using his quirk, they’re kinda glad that Toshi hasn’t used his ‘quirk’ yet
Monoma does try to use Yuuga’s quirk once and is very surprised when he can’t use it, but assumes that he’s just a really late bloomer since Yuuga’s only five. And since Toshi never visibly uses his quirk, all of Aizawa’s ‘erasing’ attempts just look silly. Idk how they find out though, I need to think on it for a while
Yuuga does put in a request for glitter. Hatsume grants this request, as well as a mini glitter canon
I’m a big fan of Quirkless Naomasa so he’s quirkless here. As such, he is the only adult Toshinori will really listen to besides Nezu, Recovery Girl, and Gran Torino (on a good day). Not to mention, Naomasa is a strong lawful good and has access to Forbidden Laws Toshi can follow in his vigilante quest. He also steals Naomasa’s phone at one point to get for the Knuckleduster’s number, since according to multiple internet sources he’s a quirkless vigilante
Anyways im crying and sobbing only a little. thank you :)

So, what is your take on the EM relationship? Who was the one to fall first and confess? Please support your speculations/opinions with canonical evident, if you'd like 😏 (BECAUSE YOU'RE SO DAMN GOOD AT IT ❤️) Thank you for your time 🙏
Oh goodness
You really want me to go all out huh Kunshi 😏
Well, I’ll try to summarize this as best I can ***(This may have some spoilers so be warned)**
The relationship between All Might and Eraserhead has been quite the journey. You can say, frenemies to “hey you’re not so bad”. They’ve known of each other for years, before the present timeline. Here in Vigilante’s, Eraserhead tells Tsukauchi that the situation they’re in is so dire, they need the Number 1. Aizawa acknowledges how powerful All Might is, despite disapproving of how handles media and fame.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But they didn’t really know each other until All Might started at UA.
Aizawa believed Yagi to be reckless, irresponsible, and foolish in taking a job he has no training for. Not to mention the obvious favoritism. Yagi believed Aizawa to be too harsh and cold hearted on the children. Though as the two got to know each other, and went through traumatic events together (USJ and Kamino), they started to warm up more to each other, actually taking the time to get to know one another.
Tumblr media
All Might rushes to an injured Aizawa’s side, and the sight of how broken, bloodied and damaged his co-worker is visibly upsets him. The way Toshinori’s voice softens as he apologizes to Aizawa, unclear if it’s out loud or in his mind. Toshinori probably feels terrible whenever anyone’s been injured, but he seems particularly held up over Aizawa, most likely because he himself couldn’t be there when it happened. He was of being a hero all morning, and wasted all his time in his muscle form, so he wasn’t there with them like he should have been. Which meant Aizawa and (Thirteen) had to fight to protect the students, even if they were clearly unmatched. They were both badly injured in the process, all because Toshinori wasn’t there.
Tumblr media
Then after the fight, Toshinori cuts his friend, Tsukauchi, off and asks how Aizawa, wait, Eraserhead, is doing. Oh and Thirteen too. He was relieved to find he they were alright.
Tumblr media
When Kamino hit we see how intently Aizawa watches the news, watches All Might, watches Toshinori. He was clearly concerned, and in seeing AFO summon his many quirks in order to eliminate All Might once and for all, Aizawa’s concern only grows. And for good reason.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
As an after effect, the students needed to move into dorms. Aizawa and Toshinori are paired together to speak to 1A’s students. It’s in the car that Aizawa, awkwardly, offers to buy Toshinori a drink. To which Toshinori politely declines, as he can’t drink. (*face palm*)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
However, after dealing with Bakugo’s...different family, Toshinori nudges Aizawa with an elbow his injured arm no less, and whispers that he now owes Aizawa a drink.
Tumblr media
Dunno about you, but I’d have to be pretty comfortable with someone before I’m close enough to nudge them and whisper secrets. And Toshinori is always seeking to know Aizawa better, be closer, impress him.
They even go out on a date to get a drink together.  Toshinori’s inner dialogue is the most interesting, from “I’m going to be even better friends with Aizawa-kun...!” to “All Might, you just gotta push past the walls of Aizawa-kun’s heart!” ...uh huh. To which Mic and Midnight totally crash their “Secret Dinner Outing” and invite themselves to stay, much to Toshinori’s (”Or on second thought...probably not then.”) and Aizawa’s despair (”Go home!” x3). Get outta here, you’re ruining our date!  And after Toshinori takes his leave, Aizawa chases him down outside to say....? “Thank you very much. I’m drunk right now so I probably wouldn’t say this if I wasn’t. But because you fought at Kamino and took down AFO for us, I’ll do my part and look after the students as much as I can. That’s why I want to thank you for everything.” To which after a silence, Toshinori responds with, “Aizawa-kun, let’s watch over the students from here on out together.” ...to which Aizawa mentions he won’t remember any of this and to never bring it up ever again.  (*repeat face palm*)
This only proves they’re becoming much, much, closer. They’ve gone beyond plus ultra frenemies and onto true friends. They take each other’s words and thoughts into account in a serious manner, like how Yagi managed to convince Aizawa to let him go to Bakugo and Midoriya when they snuck out, as well as going easy on punishment for them.
Tumblr media
Aizawa’s also shown growing concern for Toshinori after his retirement. Firstly from seeing Toshinori out and about so soon after Kamino while he was still recovering from his injuries. And on the occasion a falling rock nearly connects to Toshinori’s head, you can see how quickly Aizawa reacts. The way you can almost see a flashback of his childhood friend’s unfortunate death running through his head as he tries to save Toshinori from the same fate. Once Midoriya saves Toshinori, Aizawa still reaches out to him, like he’s worried the man may get hurt, break, as he tells him that it’s not safe in this environment, and that Toshinori should leave, go where it’s safe.
Tumblr media
When Aizawa couldn’t attend Bakugo and Todoroki’s extra classes, he asks Toshinori to go in his place, and even makes Present Mic go along as a body guard. He’s clearly concerned for the former hero’s safety and well-being. Toshinori now often fills in for Aizawa if he can’t make it to his own class.
Tumblr media
When Midoriya’s new quirk is discovered, Aizawa takes Toshinori’s anxiety about the situation seriously, and they immediately go to put a stop to the training battle.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But once Midoriya’s quirk settles down, Aizawa decides to let this play out, and calms Toshinori, saying he’ll put a stop to it if the situation happens again.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He later describes Toshinori as a genius, naturally talented, when explaining to Shinsou how he doesn’t expect the kid to be on the same level with the others in the hero course right off the bat. Aizawa has extreme respect for Toshinori.
Tumblr media
The biggest moment between the two is late on a snowy night, when Toshinori sits outside in the cold, alone, contemplating...well, his life honestly. Aizawa find’s him, “there you are,” apparently looking for the taller man. Toshinori at first automatically deflects any questions about himself, and asks about the children. He then offers to help Aizawa with training Eri, in which the underground hero gladly accepts (something that Aizawa would not have done in the past, as he hated even speaking to the older man before). But Aizawa can see through the façade, and asks what’s wrong. Aizawa is one of, if not the only, person Toshinori confides in so deeply.  Horkioshi confirmed recently that of everyone (adults, I assume), pro heroes included, Toshinori is the closest to Aizawa. Toshinori decides he can trust Aizawa with his mental weights. He’s decided to live, but feels useless staying alive, powerless, unable to help anyone, or at least how the children need him to.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Aizawa’s initially unnerved at the fact that Toshinori decided to live, as if the contemplation of otherwise was there. But he listens quietly, intently, to what Toshinori says. Finally, he tries to reason with the older man that being a workaholic, and never having time to rest, isn’t good either, points out that after holding up the country for decades, suddenly not having it has left an addiction. Toshinori doesn’t know what to do if he’s not running himself ragged. But also tells him that he is helping the students--by being alive, and by being here for them. There are a lot of people (Aizawa included?) that gain strength, just by Toshinori being there, alive. And he asks him to please keep on living and acting like his normal self. Toshinori’s overcome with emotion at his words.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
For a relationship between the two, I’m sure they both would have had feelings for quite some time before ever admitting to it. Knowing their personalities, Aizawa would feel his feelings were illogical and deceptive. Toshinori is just a tad older than him, has met probably thousands more people than Aizawa ever will, and he was the number one hero. Falling for a guy like that just seemed too predictable and annoying. But Aizawa soon learns the differences between All Might and Toshinori, and while the latter still rubs him the wrong way at times, the tall, willowy man has managed to capture his heart. He feels compelled to care for the other, make sure he’s taking proper care of himself. And yet he tells himself it’s too invasive of the other man’s privacy; none of his business. When Mic and Midnight drag him to the bar and question him why his mood was off, he’d give no answer save for a shrug, and down another beer.
Toshinori would have feelings rather early, but most likely not realize they were more than just finally getting the grouchy Aizawa-kun to tolerate him. As weeks go by, he would catch his heart racing at Aizawa’s presence, blushing when the scruffy man would make tea for him after a coughing fit, and way too elated when Aizawa accepted the invitation for a drink together, alone. One night it would hit him just exactly how he feels for the younger man, and his heart would clench. Surely Aizawa couldn’t feel the same way, especially for a man as old, sickly, and awkward as himself. Even if it were possible, his own death is due to come within the next year, and he couldn’t do that to Aizawa-kun. He’d spend several nights fighting and eventually failing to quietly let his tears fall into the pillow below him as he tries to sleep, alone.
The two would cautiously work together, stepping around their own feelings to keep things normal between them. All the while Aizawa’s brain would fight against his heart, and Toshinori’s chest would tighten until a bloody cough was produced.
Finally, finally, after Mic and Midnight pry it out of Aizawa like a game of Operation, they force him to ask Toshinori out. It takes a week, but Aizawa finally finds the right moment to ask the former hero out for a drink and bar food. Glamorous as always, especially for a first date. But Toshinori gladly accepts, and spends the rest of the day convincing himself it’s just a friendly supper, between friends, not a date.
That night the two have a lovely evening of greasy bar food (which Toshinori politely only orders a small plate of fries, as there’s nothing blander on the menu) and beer (Toshinori also drinks a plain water). Aizawa apologizes for not taking Toshinori’s diet into account when picking where they met, and says he’ll let Toshinori pick the restaurant next time. Toshinori freezes at his wording. Aizawa’s quick to try and resolve, but Toshinori stops him. Asks him what exactly this is. A friendly dinner? Or something more? Aizawa buries into his scarf, and answers with a question in return; what do you want it to be? It’s then Toshinori sets his glass down, takes a moment to breathe, before spilling that he’d hoped it was a date. He’s bright red as he explains how he believes he’s developed...feelings over the months working together. That he wanted to go out again, but that he hadn’t wanted to force his feelings on Aizawa. Who would want someone like him?
These two have so much chemistry. They’ve been through so much together already: disagreements, near deaths, critical injuries, awkward moments of a budding friendship, talking each other off the ledge. In all the ships of the series, EraserMight has one of the most obvious connections and chemistries.

You made me imagine Shigaraki trying to explain his family to like, Spinner or something.
"This is Hana, she's my big sister. I accidentally stole her hands when I got my quirk so she's technically the only person allowed to mess with me."
"This is Himiko, she's...I guess my little sister? I think we might've tried to kill each other when we first met. She's cool."
"This is Eri. We only have custody of her every other weekend because the heroes keep finding our hideouts. I'm pretty sure she's our baby sister, but Dabi is convinced she's either my kid or Hana's."
OKAY BUT BUT BUT ANON, THIS GIVE ME AN IDEA FOR AN AU. HERE ME OUT:
In this au, AFO doesn't exists (what a blessing) and Shirakumo Oboro is still alive.
The night Tenko's quirk manifest, Hana prevents him from doing anything using her quirk: if someone touches her skin recently, she can freeze that person's movements for a short amount of time.
Some years later, Shirakumo saves them both from their abusive family. Kotaro goes to jail, Nao goes to a mental institution to recover from the trauma and Oboro adopts the kids.
Welcome to the Cloud Family.
Shirakumo, a sort of vigilante now, keeps saving and adopting people that were forgotten by society.
Around that time he meets a girl maybe two years older than Hana. Her name is Magne and she ran away from her home because they didn't wanted her for being trans. She ask Shirakumo is she can stay with him, helping him raise the kids. He allows it, thankful.
Magne immediately becomes Hana's best friend. Both girls are an amazing duo and they help Tenko learn how to manage his quirk.
While Hana and Tenko study and Shirakumo works, Magne stays with the home duties, goes out with friends, lives her normal life being who she truly is.
She's cleaning the kitchen one morning and when Shirakumo breaks in through the window, holding a little girl in his arms. The girl looks younger than Tenko and it's covered in mud and blood. She's smiling big, fascinated with Shirakumo's quirk, like she's just taking a ride.
Shirakumo found her playing inside a trash can in the street. She was looking for something to eat. Her parents, some rich bastards, had abandoned her aftering finding out their kid liked to bite living animals and drink their blood. They kicked her out of the house and faked her death.
To cover up his vigilante identity, Shirakumo opens a bar. It's small, comfortable, perfect to hide from heroes and villians. He has a contact named Giran, who redirects to him all those people who need a hero but can't trust in the law.
Magne is the one managing the bar with Shirakumo, whevener he's not working. Hana, Tenko and Toga go to school.
Let's take a minute to imagine Hana and Touya being classmates. Imagine Hana and Touya arguing and even fistfighting. They become rivals. Which is pretty funny because you have Fuyumi trying to stop hee brother from insulting her best friend.
Little Hana hating Endeavor. Preach.
Natsuo and Tenko study together. They bond over trains and having idiotic parents.
PLEASE TOGA AND SHOTO BEING CHILDHOOD FRIENDS.
I mean, I've always headcanoned that Shoto and Toga are both neurodivergent so imagine then bonding over that.
Toga is considered a weird kid but Shoto likes being around her because she doesn't look like him like he's unreachable. Toga is always telling how his fire is so pretty, nothing like Endeavor's fire. Also Shoto, who's always bleeding thanks to his training, doesn't understand why it's a big deal that Toga asks him for some. He just gives her and they pretend to be twins when she uses her quirk.
The day Touya goes to Sekoto peak, Hana is looking for him because Shirakumo insists that she should invite him to have dinner with them. She goes with Shirakumo to Endeavor's house and from there they go look for him at the peak.
When the fire begins, Oboro flies over and rescues Touya. However, they both get pretty burned. Shirakumo scapes with the kid and arrives at the bar. Magne contacts an illegal doctor to cure them both.
Hana tells Fuyumi that Touya is alive but she refuses to tell her where he is. She will only tell her if Fuyumi tells her about Endeavor. Hana knows she's being cruel but she also knows them, and she knows something bad is going on with them.
Hana takes Fuyumi to where they keep Touya once she admits Endeavor's abuse.
But Touya refuses to go back. He's barely healing, slowly, and he hates his dad. He is full with hatred and anger and hurt. Shirakumo fears for his life, but he can't simply fight Endeavor.
Fuyumi returns home, troubled. Finally she talks with Rei and the woman visits Shirakumo in secret. She visits her son.
They reach an agreement: For the world, Touya Todoroki would be dead. Only his siblings and his mother would know the truth, along with the Cloud Family. Dabi would be just a kid without a family, someone who grew up in Shirakumo's bar.
And so they did. The Todorokis would visit him regularly with the excuse of the todosiblings being friends with the cloud kids.
When Hana and Fuyumi started college, Dabi stayed behind with Toga and Tenko. They started training together, and before anyone could notice, they were already a team.
The final adoption of the cloud family happened when a woman gave a little girl to Shirakumo one rainy night. She was terrified of the child. In the hurry, she told him to take the kid to a mafia boss and left, but Shirakumo couldn't do it.
Shirakumo already had experience raising little girls and raising children with problematic quirks, so she fit perfectly in their family of weirdos.
The yakuza never knew about this.
Eri grew up glued to Tenko, because they look a like a lot, so people didn't doubt them being siblings.
Shirakumo turns into a reformed pro-hero just to start teaching at UA along with his old besties, Aizawa and Yamada. He's in charge of teaching the kids about how the villians think and work.
Hana ends up studying to be a lawyer, but only to cover up her family whereabouts.
Toga and Shoto starts studying at UA together (or the AU where Toga replaces Mineta at class 1-A). Toga calls Aizawa "uncle Eraser".
Magne keeps the bar with the help of Tenko aka Tomura and Dabi. Which is just a lie because Tomura and Dabi follow the vigilante path together, creating the Anti-hero League. Bonus point because Natsuo has to constantly use his medical skills on his older sibling and his best friend, since they are both reckless idiots with self-destructive quirks.
Fuyumi works with Eri on learning how to control her quirk. Turns out Fuyumi is an amazing teacher and Eri completely adores her.
Rei is responsible for Shoto's scar but this time is totally an accident. She still goes to the hospital BUT Dabi exposes Endeavor and together they all sent him to jail.
Compress, Spinner, Twice, Mustard, Giran.. They all find their way to the Anti-hero League and most important, to the Cloud Family. Shirakumo is proud as fuck because his son is just like him.
Which takes us to Tomura having to explain he has four sisters to Spinner.
And this is the story Tomura told him and the reason why Spinner keeps losing his mind every time he sees them all on the family reunions.
The end.

I've seen a lot of people do it, so if you are up for it~ Ship your moots!
FINALLY. THE AWAITED LIST OF MOOTS IS COMPLETE. sorry this took forever anon!!
now, this is going to be long & i will try not to overexplain my ship pairings. did i take time to think about each paring? yes. but, will they be serious? no. they are dumb & silly.
let the crack pairings begin <3!!
@dekusneakers x BAKUGOU & TODOROKI now you would think? sneakers in a throuple? how come? mmm simple. i couldn’t choose one for her so she gets both. the more the merrier. besides, she deserves love from both sides, kisses on both cheeks. one begrudgingly smooch & one icy kith. as a deku kin, she’s completely satisfied. you’re welcome
@izusun x AIZAWA & ORCA similarly, i can’t have my bestie here with just ONE babe. so, i thought why don’t we get a fatherly figure & a dad bod to give her all the love she needs. so yes, bestie, you two deserves hugs at both sides of you. a twiggy one & a muscly one. the sun needs some shade, & that shade is these men.
@midnightpirates x SUKUNA he’s a mass murderer !! you can’t— oh, but i can. you see, yanna here hates mahito & guess who was the one to fuck up his shit. ah, that’s right, it was sukuna. two mahito an/tis sitting in a tree <3 it’s the perfect match made in hell.
@goth-himbo-dabi x DOCTOR WHO once again, people might wonder: why not dabi? my answer? it’s because my bby here finds the twiggy men attractive. i know, bummer. & you can’t get any twiggy-er than david tennant & matt smith. but which doctor? all of them.
@minisheku x KAMINARI i see you simp for his dunce face. & honestly, who wouldn’t?? also, i originally put sheepku,, but that’s ,, a bit weird. but, here’s the solution. you OWN a sheepku, with kaminari. ah yes, a modern day family unit. & he can entertain you, as well as be a source of electricity for your drawing tablet !! resources !!
@oyavaski x EN you said he was hot literally in your tags earlier in a reblog. so, i am simply gifting you water to quench your thirst. may you two meet in afo, & fall in love in the subconscious of deku’s mind. will deku feel awks? yeah. but like pfft, he’s so whipped for bkg, he’ll forget you two chilling in the corner of his thoughts.
@okworstie x GOJO & WATARI i never have to look up the gojo tag, like ever. because you’re always plastering his face all over my timeline. & yes, this is a good thing. but, the same applies to watari. i have never even seen bakudiez, or whatever it’s called, but apparently he’s aro, & there’s a moth man, & tape hits post limit thursday’s? yeah just keep both, mimi.
@rrandomtthings x AN/TI as one of fellow loyal, amazing bkdks, i think it’s only fitting that you find true love with a bkdk an/ti. create the banti we seek in our community. the enemies to lovers trope is in your blood, written in your deku genes. so, i dedicate the banti movement with this small offering of a ship. may you find diamonds on the minecraft server & build a diamond cabin.
@believeyourgalaxy x ITADORI you two are such cinnamon rolls !!!! super friendly. super kind. super relatable. & together, you guys can pin over megumi. maybe hopefully, sam can help itadori with his low iq brain to finally get together with megumi. because damn, sam can be like “this is my boyfriend, itadori. & this is itadori’s boyfriend, megumi.”
@wrensknight x SHIRAKUMO i didn’t even know it was oboro birthday, until you not only made a public post about to, but made art for him. cloud boy needs that partner to respect & cherish him entirely. & you just treat him so right?? draw him so good?? i hope you can go cloud watching & then later, ride the clouds with him. till death do you guys uh,, you know,,
@b1m0 x MIDORIYA you can't stand when he gets injured, let alone reckless & trying to save the world, when he should literally be saving his own ass. but, that just means you care about him DEEPLY. plus, you both are wholesome people. obviously two cinnamon rolls make a whole bakery !! & who doesn't want a bakery ?? i sure do! wehjw idk why i brought the point here, but just know you two make sense.
@mysterionrising x RENGOKU & VIGILANTE DEKU it’s that enemies to lovers trope once again !! for someone who wrote him off as annoying the first seconds she met him, kenny sure flipped over to the stan side. ever since then, i can only see kenny when i see rengoku. but, you know who else reminds me of kenny. vigilante deku. it’s super fruity that you have an entire bomb playlist for him. so keep him too !!
@kamishima x KIRISHIMA you are the biggest kiri simp i have ever met. you basically ship kiri with anyone who makes him happy. though, you do have a lot of ships, but with kiri it’s different. & so, i was thinking ‘mmm, if bug ships kiri with so many people?? shouldn’t she ship him with HERSELF?’ boom. suddenly both kiri & bug are happy, with a lovely home. my work here is done.
@ckatsudon x LAW LIET did i dig through your blog. why yes. & you know what i found? reblogs & tags dedicated to L. he’s best boy. he’s precious. he deserves a better end. an end with you. mmhmm !! because if we rewrote death note, where you were light, i think L & light could have been canon. & that also would make you happy. & the rest of the entire world
@drfox-kinnie x UNIKITTY i don’t even know the show, let alone who unikitty is exactly. but, you reblogged a banner, confirming your love for unikitty. & so, i am of course doing you a big favor !! she’s bubbly, friendly, & passionate just like you !! & bestie, while i may not know nothing about her, i know you love her. so, maybe you two platonically have a wonderful time, adventuring with the other wholesome characters !! also,, is she big enough to travel on? if so, look i got you a cat car!!
@midorree x MINACHAKO i ship you with another ship. why? because i can. besides, you are like my moot who is genuinely a head leader of the minachako ship on my timeline, & you have steadily been converting me?? but, i also noticed that mina AND uraraka have stolen your heart, & you have yet to fight them for it back. i hope you three can go into a brawl & see who can grab each other’s hands fastest.
@kiribakuxkacchakolover x HATSUME YOU HAVE IT AS YOUR TITLE HEADER. like you are literally having a billboard that calls mei your cutie patootie. &, you ask, & you shall receive. i hope you two can be the dorkiest nerds together, & ramble for eons & eons. i hope i’m invited to the transformer wedding you two will have <,3
@balaroo x MIRUKO like before, you too have your interest out in the open in your title header. but, you see, miruko is a total babe, with confidence & ego & with this stride that makes even the most alpha male quiver. you would be a total wife to miruko’s girlboss energy & that’s why this ship totally works.
@quix-mix x FREDDY FAZBEAR my precious lil young moot, i dug into your blog & noticed you enjoy the fnaf games. & mmm are you perhaps wanting to cuddle a certain demonic teddy bear? well, i approve. he'll fall in love, head over heels, with your art, he might not possess you right away !! might. but, listen, you always do enjoy the villains (; i gotchu !!
@lonely-rabbit x LANCE you said we’re moots & i agree, we are. however, i have noooo idea what even are your preferences. so, i went digging. & it’s such a coincidence that we bonded over our voltron trauma, & yet you still continue to simp over lance. &, like i don’t blame you !!! he’ll always be dumb baby & so all i ask is that you love him, for our sake. & sanity.

Long Night in the Valley Chapter 16
"But Suzuki-san was knocked out a bunch before this," said Ochako.
"I know," said One, still holding out the little packs of pills, "but apparently going to sleep is different from being knocked out."
"I think being drugged is a lot different from going to sleep, too," said Todoroki, taking one of the pill packs.
"I literally did not make the rules of this quirk." He turned his head to the side and started muttering about how Saito's quirk could have been used for good.
"How closely are you related to Midoriya, anyway?" asked Todoroki.
One startled. "Oh, uh, heh. You know. Enough for him to use the quirk?"
Wow. That was a suspicious answer.
"Are you Midoriya's father?" asked Todoroki.
"Todoroki, what--" started Iida.
"I have been dead for over a hundred years."
"That's not a no."
"Anyway," said Ochako, taking a sleeping pill from One but not opening it. "Are you sure, completely sure, you don't want our help? I mean, thinking about it, if you can get Izuku's quirk back from him like this, can’t he take your quirks, too?"
"Probably," agreed One, casually. "That's part of the reason we want you away from him." He mixed taking a pill. "We're also trying to make him think he can't. Or at least think that we think he can't. He's never had a very high opinion of our intelligence. And if he thinks that we think he can't, he'll never think that we're doing it."
Todoroki nodded along to this sagely.
"There’s also the possibility that he won't be able to - there are significant differences between my quirk and his. He can't do a passive DNA read, for example. That and the remnants of Izuku's quirk are the main reasons we think this will work, after all."
The world trembled slightly, then shook, as if an earthquake had just happened.
"He could take our mental selves, though," continued One. "Whether or not he'd keep them once this quirk wears off is something I'd rather not know… Although it'd be interesting to see if he could take the DNA aspect of a quirk that doesn't have a corresponding mental component present, since that's what actually trips him up when he tries to take One for All - he can't take the mental aspect, so his quirk aborts the sequence."
The ground shook again, harder.
"But that's honestly academic. You see, being dead can get boring, so we've spent a lot of time running war games and fighting each other."
This time, the shaking knocked all of them but One to their knees.
"Please take the pills? Now? We're really going to be fine."
A rocket screamed in the distance, followed by an explosion.
"This doesn't have opiates in it, does it?" asked Iida.
"Nothing here is real, so, no."
.
Ochako startled awake and immediately clutched at her head. That was one heck of a headache. Driven by the need to see where she was, she peeled open her eyes.
This was… the infirmary at UA?
How'd she get here?
"Oi! Granny! Cheeks is awake!"
That was Bakugo. There was something she wanted to do regarding Bakugo. What was it again?
"Don’t shout! This is a place of quiet and healing."
"I wanna know what fffffffffrick happened to shhhhtupid Deku."
Oh. She remembered now.
"As do we all, but you shouldn't crowd someone coming out of a mental quirk like that, it could be--"
No time like the present, decided Ochako.
She snapped into a sitting position, and punched Bakugo in the face.
"Ow! Mother--!"
Recovery Girl sighed. "Dangerous. Uraraka, how are you feeling?"
.
"I'm telling you," said Suzuki, propped up in the hospital bed, "there's a whole cabal of them, telepathically linked to each other and to All for One." He swatted away the nurse's hand. "Some of them are old heroes, too. They must have gone over to him for longevity quirks or something. They were- they were joking with each other about how to kill me. That's why I had to bail out."
"I believe you," said the commission president solemnly. “We have come across some evidence of our own that puts yours into a much more… credible light than it would be otherwise. Could you identify them, the other members of this ‘cabal?’”
“Some of them,” said Suzuki, doubtfully. “But others I didn’t recognize, or see for very long.” He shuddered. “Some of them… Some of them I would very much like to be mistaken about, sir.”
“The ones you are sure of?” prompted the president.
“Skyrunner,” said Suzuki, looking pale. “We should investigate her associates, as well,” he added, as if the president was unfit for his job. “There was another… I only know him from pictures, but I’m sure it was Fidelity.”
The president let neither his annoyance at Suzuki nor the familiarity of the two names distract him. “And how did Aizawa Shouta interact with them?”
Suzuki sniffled. “He sided with them. They all tried to put up a show when I was watching, but they never attacked him like they attacked me. That woman… she kept dropping me…” He knotted his fingers in his hair.
“What about All Might?”
“I’m… not sure. There was an image of him there, but he didn’t speak, not like the others. I couldn’t… couldn’t say if he was involved like they were.”
Not the conclusive report he’d been hoping for, then, but it confirmed that Midoriya Izuku was indeed in league with All for One.
… and also that he was providing All for One with at least one link with the outside world.
If Skyrunner and the others truly were alive, that meant that he had even more.
If. If they were alive. Even for a man of All for One’s talents, he had doubts about his ability to locate so many longevity quirks. The nomu with their duplicated quirks seemed to be a recent development. Then, too, there was the matter of Midoriya’s blood sample. Skyrunner and Fidelity were both on the list of people whose DNA had been mingled with his.
“There was also…” said Suzuki. He swallowed. “There was also… Tempest. She looked just like the old posters.”
Another name from the lists. The president closed his eyes briefly and pulled out his phone, going to the pictures he had saved of the hero Lariat and the vigilante Forewarning. Lariat’s photo was obviously better, having been an official picture for the purposes of identification. Forewarning’s was blurry and at an awkward angle, but given what he’d been - and who he served - it was only to be expected.
He showed the phone to Suzuki.
“These two?”
Suzuki stared. “Yes,” he said. “How did you know?”
“As I said,” replied the president, “we’ve gathered some of our own evidence while you’ve been asleep.” He put his phone away. “I expect a more thorough, formal report of what you discovered in Midoriya’s mind by the end of the day.”
“Of course, sir,” said Suzuki.
The president nodded, and with no more farewell than that, left.
As soon as he was alone, his phone was in his hand again. “I need an emergency exhumation order for the heroes Lariat, Fidelity, and Skyrunner.”
.
Aizawa stepped into the lobby of the apartment building. It seemed normal enough, even if the finishings were incredibly old-fashioned and its emptiness gave it a disturbing quality. The overhead lights buzzed. The wallpaper peeled. The air smelled faintly of ammonia. The paint on the receptionist’s desk had flaked off in places. There was gum matted in the carpet.
It was a normal apartment building. Not a nice one.
Aizawa walked cautiously to the desk, and peered at the mailboxes behind it. He picked out the name ‘Shigaraki’ in the third row, and made note of the apartment number.
The elevator, predictably, was out of order, not that it particularly mattered to Aizawa. He wouldn’t have trusted it to bring him to his destination, regardless. He barely trusted the stairs for that, after how many times this dream world had changed under his feet.
He reached the third floor without incident, and found the Shigaraki apartment. The door was locked, but Aizawa always carried a set of lockpicks with him, something that was as true here as in the real world. He made short work of it.
The apartment was… normal. Chaotic. Not very clean. Several sets of shoes, various sizes, littered the entryway. Medical bills and homework covered the kitchen table, more than a few letters on the floor. Bowls were stacked next to the sink. One of the rooms didn’t have a door, but a curtain. There were scorch marks on the walls.
Aizawa took a deep breath, and stepped into the apartment.
At first, nothing changed. Then, the light streaming past the curtains dimmed, natural light becoming weak, flickering sodium-yellow, and the dusty silence of an abandoned place was replaced with something that was almost like city nightlife.
Almost. There was something badly off about it. More than something… Too much anger. Not a single happy voice. Too many crashes and bangs. But… also not enough. Not enough for a riot or a protest. No motors, either. No cars.
He made his way to the window and looked out. There were people there. Crowds, even. People raging. People despairing. There were people tearing at the buildings, attacking their surroundings and one another, but many simply laid on the ground. Others… others seemed to be hunting. Looking for something, armed with makeshift weaponry.
Red lightning split the sky above them. Someone wailed, and the hunting party changed direction, going to where the lightning had struck.
Aizawa had seen the footage from Kamino, the way lightning had sparked, jagged, around the villain’s arms. He didn’t know what that lightning meant here, but he didn’t intend to get close enough to find out.
But he did have to go out, to find Midoriya’s quirk, or the representation of it. Wherever it was, it wasn’t in this apartment.
Probably.
Just to be sure, he threw open the doors and cabinets, searching and not finding. However, the apartment really was as empty of people as it seemed. Part of Aizawa itched to investigate this place more, this place where All for One was allegedly raised.
He left the apartment, making his way quickly down the stairs. In the real world, he would have most likely left through the window, jumping down to quell the near-riot happening below, to pull aside some of the younger people he had seen. But none of the people below were real, and he needed to lay low, stay inconspicuous.
Walking through Midoriya’s and the others’ minds, he and his students had always been noticed immediately. The ‘vestiges’ were distracting All for One, but Aizawa didn’t want to push his luck.
He walked out into the dim street, keeping close to the walls of buildings for whatever little cover they provided. The air tasted… oddly sterile.
The ‘people’ here were most likely stolen quirks, not memories. Would Midoriya’s be out in this? Or hidden away? How big was All for One’s mental landscape? The man was more than a century old.
If the quirk acted like the child it had belonged to… most likely it would go somewhere familiar. Midoriya’s apartment, maybe? Had he lived there, back then?
It was, unfortunately, his only lead.
(He did not think highly of his chances at success.)
“Eraserhead?”
The call was hissed, hushed and disbelieving. Aizawa half-turned, thinning his profile to provide a smaller target, his hands on his capture weapon.
Then he hesitated.
“Ragdoll?”
She blinked rapidly at him, eyes tearing up. “He got you, too, Eraser?”
Aizawa took in the brightly-colored hero costume and the ever so slightly off way she held herself. “You… aren’t really Shiretoko Tomoko, are you?” He knew that, or should have known that, but it was very different to see someone he knew… the quirk of someone he knew… here.
She crossed her arms and pursed her lips, face still twisted in upset and grief. “Just like you aren’t really…” Her eyes widened, and she pushed him into a nearby alleyway. He let her, barely resisting the urge to throw her off and double-guessing that decision. “You are the real Eraserhead,” she whispered, urgently. “The real Aizawa Shouta.”
To trust or not to trust… She’d know more than Aizawa about this place and where Midoriya’s quirk might be, but she was also compromised simply by the situation she was in and what she was. He didn’t know how much control All for One had over her, nor how similar she was to the real Ragdoll.
“Why are you here? How are you here?” Her words carried an edge of desperation. “You can’t be here. This is hell.”
“It’s a quirk. I’m looking for someone,” said Aizawa, making a snap decision. “A child.”
“One of your students?”
“Younger,” said Aizawa. “About five.”
“That doesn’t narrow it down as much as I’d like,” admitted not-Ragdoll.
“A boy,” said Aizawa. “Curly green hair. Probably small for his age.”
She blinked again, eyelashes fluttering. “Green hair? Like Midoriya?”
“You remember him?”
“It would be hard to forget the student Kota punched in the…'' she trailed off with a grimace. “Is he alright? Kota?”
“He’s fine. And… you’re fine, as well. Alive, I mean.”
“That’s not really…” She chewed her lower lip. “Call me Search. Midoriya, is he…?”
“He’s… The situation is complicated.”
Ragdoll-- Search nodded. “I haven’t seen anyone that looks like that,” she said. “But I’m not the only hero-- The only hero’s quirk here.” She stepped out of the alley. “Let me show you.”
This felt like a trap.
He didn’t have any better leads.
He followed.
.
Kazuki had never been strong. As a child, he’d been sickly, and he’d grown into a sickly adult. Allergies and autoimmune disorders had plagued him growing up, as well as common viruses made near-fatal by his adverse reactions to vaccines and already-compromised immune system. Then, as a teen, he’d been diagnosed with a cellular degeneration disorder that had sprung up at about the same time as meta abilities. A disorder that, if Nine was any indicator, had never been cured.
Then his brother had given him the stockpile. And that had…
Well. It had hurt, at first. It had left him sicker than ever, confused and possibly a little delirious as his own power sheered away the ghost of a half-brother he’d never met into near-nothingness, as instincts and senses he’d only been peripherally aware of opened up, angry and inflamed by the violation.
(He wondered, now, if One for All might have manifested very differently if the stockpile hadn’t been forced on him. If the reason Izuku was drawing out the quirks of his predecessors wasn’t because of the mechanical remnants of his original quirk, but because One for All itself had finally settled into equilibrium with the stockpile.)
But. He’d had the stockpile. He’d had that well of power, shallow as it had been back then. at the beginning.
Kazuki still wasn’t strong. Never, in his entire life, from birth to death, had he been strong.
But it was a fact that, for as long as the strong and the weak had existed among men, so had equalizing devices.
Kazuki could lean on a cane. He could also beat someone to death with one. At least, when he’d been alive.
He’d done some staffwork, too, when he’d been alive. The weapon wasn’t as inconspicuous in the modern world as it had been in the past, but it had reach and versatility. Also, many cleaning implements, garden tools, and lengths of pipe could be used as a staff in a pinch.
But his favorite weapon was the sword.
(Kazuki had excelled above his older brother in only four areas: morality, med school, finishing books, and kendo.)
Force multipliers, one friend in the underground had called Kazuki’s weapons. Specialized levers.
Someone, a westerner, Kazuki thought, had once said that you could move the world with a long enough lever. Kazuki couldn’t claim to have done that, he couldn’t even move his brother, but weapons had made his use of One for All much more efficient.
Much more deadly, in some cases.
Unfortunately, his blade failed to cleave off his brother’s insufferably smug face, steel skittering off his brother’s quirk-enhanced hand. Kazuki dove past him, tumbled, making sure to keep the cutting edge of his sword pointed away from himself, and rolled smoothly to his feet, the phantom buzz of One for All under his skin making him much more coordinated than he otherwise would have been.
Daigoro and Rokuya had already engaged his brother. Ryuji was circling, unnoticeable, waiting for an opening. Miranda had summoned a dense fog that crackled with lightning (incidentally not something she’d commonly been able to do in life - for most of her feats, the prevailing weather conditions had to be just right first). Nana was minding the environment, for the moment, making sure it suited them and hindered their opponent. Although, she’d attempted a few several-story axe-kicks, when she saw the opportunity.
As for their youngest two members…
“I hadn’t expected you to let Midoriya Izuku fight,” said All for One, as if everyone involved wasn’t completely, brutally aware that he was Izuku’s father, “but I really expected more action from All Might. Are you afraid I’ll do to your mind what I did to your body?”
“Shut up!” shouted Izuku. “Leave him alone! He’s driving!”
“He’s wha--?”
Rokuya and Miranda both took All for One’s distraction as an opening to hit him with electrical attacks. Rokuya laughed wildly. “Tase him again, senpai!”
Kazuki adjusted his grip on the police stun baton he found in his hand (he’d stolen one, once, and kept it for a week before realizing it was GPS enabled) and smiled. A request like that from his successor? How could he refuse?
.
Vlad’s car, ever so gently, rolled to a stop. Toshinori cursed vigorously, though not particularly creatively, and winced. There wasn’t anything he could do about a empty fuel tank. Swearing at it wasn’t going to fill it up.
Once met someone with a quirk like…
Toshinori squeezed his eyes shut and let the foreign memory roll over him. Focus on positives. They were much closer to the Wild Wild Pussycats’ compound, almost to the cliffside that Izuku and his classmates had been tipped off of by Pixie Bob, and… Toshinori had to let that memory flicker and pass as well.
He pulled first their supplies, then Izuku, from the car, wanting to keep his student in the warmth provided by the barely-functional heating system for as long as possible. On a whim, he took the emergency supplies Vlad had stored in his car as well.
Perhaps taking things from his fellow teacher should have twinged his conscience more than stealing from villains, but, well. Vlad would have more loss to worry about than a small first aid kit, emergency foil blankets, and road flares. Toshinori had originally intended to return the car, or at least leave it somewhere Vlad could find, but his plans had changed.
The car might not be next to the cliff Izuku and his classmates had fallen from at the beginning of their summer camp experience, but it was next to a cliff.
He made sure the wheel was turned in the right direction, got behind the car and pushed. It took longer than he would have liked to get to the cliffside, but once he did, momentum and gravity took care of the rest.
The result was loud enough to jostle Izuku from his state of not-quite-sleep and left a fair amount of car-related debris on the side of the cliff, but the car itself was obscured quite nicely by the pine trees below.
He walked, slowly, back to Izuku, who had struggled into a sitting position, and was now contemplating standing.
“Don’t,” said Toshinori, softly. “I’ll carry you.”
“But,” said Izuku, looking at him with worry. He swallows, licking split lips. “You’re really not in better shape than I am.”
“You’re keeping us hidden,” said Toshinori. “I’m not.”
Izuku sagged, defeated. “Okay,” he said, softly.
.
“I was on my way when I found you,” said Search, leading Aizawa forward. “He knows everywhere here, he is everywhere here, and a lot of the quirks here belonged to his followers, or to people who were his enemies but were just as bad as he was… We have to move where we meet.”
“And who is ‘we’ in this situation?” asked Aizawa.
There was a lull in the conversation as they pressed themselves to a wall to let a large group go by.
“Other heroes,” said Search, quietly, once they were more or less alone again. “Rather, their quirks.” She looked up at him. “We might not be them, but we refuse to let him change us, destroy more of what we are.” Something more… natural, for lack of a better term, bled into her bearing.
It was then that it struck Aizawa, what had been bothering him about all the ‘people’ here. None of them moved like they were alive. Not even the vestiges in Midoriya’s mind felt so dead.
Aizawa was standing in a world of ghosts.
He forced himself to nod at her, this specter wearing his colleague’s face and memories. If what she said was true, then she was, indeed, pursuing a noble cause.
She led him to what looked like an average, middle-class hotel, except that it was painted with bright, red graffiti accusing the owners of being ‘mutants.’ They entered through a side door, and went down into a basement filled with washing and drying machines.
The room was also full of people. Quirks. All of whom became very tense upon seeing Aizawa.
“Who’s this?” asked one of them, a thin woman still wearing a blood-splattered costume. Aizawa vaguely recognized her face as that of a hero who’d been popular when he’d been a kid.
“This is Eraserhead,” said Search. “The real Eraserhead.”
“Are you sure?”
“Pretty sure,” said Search.
Aizawa didn’t know how she could be, seeing as she hadn’t really asked him any questions that could confirm his identity, but he didn’t belabor the point.
“He’s looking for someone,” she continued.
“Forget that, how did you even get in here?” demanded someone else.
A quirk,” said Aizawa.
“Duh,” said a boy in an old Shiketsu uniform. “Of course it was a quirk. Can we have some more detail? We haven’t gotten any news since she came in.” He jerked his head towards Search.
“It was a number of quirks,” allowed Aizawa, “interacting in an unpredicted way. The reason you haven’t gotten any…” He looks at Search. “News. Is because All for One is in Tartarus.”
He’d vaguely expected for the quirks to be reassured by this. Instead, they frowned.
“If you manage to get out,” said the boy, “tell them that they need to kill him. He’s not going to stay nicely in prison.”
“He’s right,” said the woman, crossing her arms. “It doesn’t matter what kind of restraints, drug cocktail, or quirk you’ve got. You see the crowds out there?” She moved to point. “Every person in them is a quirk. Strength quirks, fire quirks, longevity quirks, healing quirks, you name it, he’s got it. The only reason he hasn’t sunk the country is because he wants to rule it.” There was a murmur of agreement.
“I’ll pass it on,” said Aizawa. “But I do have something I’m here for.”
“What?” she snapped.
“A kid’s quirk,” said Search, quickly.
“Why?” asked a vigilante’s quirk, stepping forward. Aizawa had investigated their death. People with healing quirks rarely died like that. “What good does it do you?”
“I know the kid in question,” said Aizawa. “The rest is classified.”
He could make things classified if he wanted to.
“Can you describe them?” asked the vigilante, making gentle shapes with their hands.
“A boy,” said Aizawa. “Green eyes, green curly hair. Probably small. Probably has a thing for notebooks.”
The atmosphere in the room stilled from merely unnatural to deathly.
“Yeah,” said the woman. “We know who you’re talking about.” She pursed her lips. “This is something that’ll make it so All for One won’t be able to use him anymore, right?”
“Hopefully,” said Aizawa. “When you say use…”
The woman waved him off. “The kid’s fine,” she said. “Just terrifying, is all.”
Aizawa closed his eyes. “Of course he is.”
.
"We decided to keep him away from the other kids," said the vigilate's quirk, "because he was freaking them out."
They were in an apartment building again, this one newer.
"We try to keep the kids away from all that in general." The vigilante waved towards the racket outside. "Wish we could get them free, but…" He trailed off, fixing Aizawa with an appraising look. "If this works with your kid, and he gets his quirk back, maybe you could try with some of the others? I think at least some of them must still be alive out there, right? If your kid is."
"I'll look into it," said Aizawa, "but I'm afraid this is a one time only chance."
"Figures," muttered the vigilante. He knocked on the door.
There was an excited gasp from the other side, and then the pitter-patter of little feet. Then, more concerningly, several metallic clanks and clicks as bolts and locks from the other side of the door were released. The door swung back, and a painfully tiny version of Midoriya beamed up at them.

My BnHA AU List
Sorry for the length. Fics that are currently available to read have links. To those of you mentioned in this post, I wanted to make sure people knew where the ideas originally came from. (And you’re all awesome anyway!)
Can't See The Forest For The Trees - Genderbent Midoriya Izuku who became a vigilante known as the Forest in Musutafu. Has been operating for five years dealing mostly with information gathering and dispersal and some smaller situations that crop up on the streets. Todoroki Shouto is on patrol in the area and takes an interest in the unknown vigilante after she helps out with a situation where he got in over his head. AO3
A Piece of Patchwork (Improperly Placed) - AU where Izuku and Aizawa swap places in canon. Izuku fights the hero system to become the first quirkless hero, graduating alongside Present Mic. He gets called in to help in a situation where the villain has the ability to steal quirks, five years before the start of canon, providing part of the back-up team for All Might. Part 1 is the battle against All for One, part 2 is an alternate ending to the fight. Part 3 is Izuku learning to use One for All, which was forcefully given to him by All Might at the end of the battle. Part 4 is the other half of the role swap, where Aizawa grows up alongside Bakugou and is trying to get into UA. AO3
The Fallacy of Greatness (AKA Tenth, in my files) - AU where the whole first year class of UA in canon is born 4 years later than in canon. All Might encounters a 10 year old Izuku who asks if he can be a hero. Even after rescuing Bakugou and proving his heroic spirit, All Might elects not to give One for All to a child as young as Izuku. Izuku, desperate for someone to believe in his dreams, realizes that he has to be his first believer and decides to take matters into his own hands and prepare for a future in heroism on his own. AO3
The Capture Scarf Caper - Based on an idea from @terrible-my-hero-academia-aus Izuku finds Aizawa's capture scarf discarded in an alley and takes it home. He figures out how to use it and becomes so proficient that it accidentally gets mistaken for a quirk. Deciding to capitalize on the strange bias he's come up against, he uses the capture scarf to get into Class 1-A. Unfortunately, this means his teacher is the original owner of his scarf. Suddenly his deception is a lot more desperate and precarious. Meanwhile, Aizawa is trying to figure out why his instincts are telling him to pay such close attention to this anxious kid. AO3
The Better Part of Valor - Suspected Traitor Izuku AU a la @gentrychild. After Aizawa discovers one of Izuku's hero analysis notebooks, he drags Izuku to an interrogation room trying to get him to confess to being the traitor in UA. Izuku comes to realize that several of his classmates were also made aware of this theory and have been feeding information on his movements to their teacher for a while. Betrayed, he starts to pull away from class, falling back into some of the same habits from middle school to go unnoticed and fall off of people's awareness. At some point, his classmates realize that he's no longer staying in the dorms, they only ever see him in class, and All Might is the only person he will voluntarily interact with.
Civil Disobedience - All Might doesn't track Izuku down after the slime incident, but Bakugou's parting words cut far deeper after the day he's had. Realizing that everyone talks about how great of a hero Bakugou will be, Izuku comes to the conclusion that he wants to be the exact opposite of what Bakugou is. He elects to become a villain who goes after and exposes corrupt heroes. Adopting the username Wasureta for his villain work, he collects information on heroes who aren't performing their job as they should and releases it to the court of public opinion, taking away the support that has kept them from being exposed before this. As he digs deeper into the cesspool of rotten heroes, he manages to collect enough information to rake Endeavor over the coals and ends up with an interesting new follower. Dabi, meanwhile, is shocked by the ruthless but polite teenager he found when he tried to find Wasureta and he's not sure if he's impressed by what the kid has accomplished on his own, or horrified by the scope of what he controls.
Hunting Prometheus - There is another quirkless student attending Aldera Middle School, but she wasn't born that way unlike Izuku. When she was seven, her quirk was stolen from her by a man with a smooth voice and a forgettable face and she's been existing in a state of carefully cultivated rage since that day. Before, she never even considered becoming a hero. Now her only goal is to become a hero so she can find that man and punch him in the face. (OC fic, obviously)
Lost Stars in an Indifferent Universe - Leverage AU, five parts, origin for each member of the team. Izuku is told to be realistic and he tries to be following his disastrous encounter with All Might. But realistic means that he has already exceeded the life expectancy of quirkless individuals, acknowledging the fact that no amount of studying or work will let him join a remotely helpful career, and he is stuck living with his mother while he wastes away as a janitor at a nearby middle school following the completion of his high school education. When he returns to a tall building he hadn't managed to convince himself to jump off of yet, he finds that the abandoned space has been taken over by a black market of sorts and gets folded into a world of grey morals and an underground economy based on merit instead of quirk. When he becomes aware of an illegal quirk experimentation operation and tries to blow the whistle, several attempts are made on his life in order to shut him up. Instead of disappearing, he gets angry and decides to collect a team to strike back and prove the shady shit the lab is up to. (Izuku=Mastermind, Shinsou=Grifter, Hatsume=Hacker, Shoji=Hitter, Eri=Thief)
Love and Other Things Not Bound By the Laws of Time - Mr. Peabody and Sherman AU. Nezu adopts a young Midoriya Izuku whose mother died shortly after he was diagnosed as quirkless. Determined to show his new son that one's quirk or lack thereof means nothing in the grand scheme of things, UA's principal develops the WABAC machine to travel through time and prove just how capable people were before quirks manifested. He indulges Izuku's passion and curiosity, encouraging him to look into as much or as little as he wants on any subject. It becomes clear that, while not supernaturally intelligent, Izuku is a genius whose ability to make connections and strategize is by far his greatest asset, especially as he still holds onto the goal of becoming a hero.
The Quiet Revolution (collab w/ my sister) - The Todoroki siblings need therapy. Instead of getting that therapy, they decide to meet up for dinner every Saturday night, begin a tradition where they burn their father in effigy each week, accidentally start a highly successful Minecraft YouTube channel, and generally cause the downfall of the existing hero system through the power of networking.
You Can Tell What I Am By The Lines In My Skin - BnHA/Naruto AU. Naruto dies in his own universe and is reborn into the My Hero Academia Universe as Midoriya Izuku. He remembers who he was, but his chakra, which followed him into this life, is always out of reach. He trains as best he can to keep up his regular ninja skills but can't break through the barrier separating him from his chakra. He still meets and trains under All Might. When he receives One for All, however, the sensation that fills him is entirely familiar. It breaks through the barrier as though it isn't even there, and settles inside like it's always been there. Honestly, he had been missing the angry furball anyway, so he was glad Kurama managed to follow him to this world. With access to his chakra again, the world is about to discover just how effective one shinobi can be in a world of heroes.
War Games - (Inspired by RogueDruid's Hero Class Civil Warfare and others similarly inspired by it.) A year-wide hero class exercise is announced. Bakugou is announced as the Hero leader while the villain leader's identity is kept secret. Izuku knows it's him before the letter appears in his room. The students are allowed to pick whichever side they want, but most choose the hero side, which has won the exercise every time it has been run. This year is no different. Todoroki realizes that Izuku is the villain leader and signs up with him. Izuku goes and recruits Momo and Monoma to his side. Then, after consulting the rules, he folds in Shinsou and Hatsume as well. Monoma plays decoy villain leader and attempts to collect a few more people, but they've already signed up for the hero side. Izuku, without explicitly saying that he's signed up with the hero team, gets folded into the hero strategy sessions since no one expected him to make a different choice. He proceeds to get "taken out" in the first villain assault, and most people don't realize what's happening until it's far too late.
Life's A Game (And I'm Player One) - AU in which Izuku realizes that he does have a quirk but can't tell anyone about it because a) he can't prove it and b) it could be dangerous if he talks about what he can see. His quirk, which he privately calls Stat Check, freezes time just for him in order to open up what looks like a video game character bio that explains a person's quirk, as well as containing vital statistics. It only works in person or on unaltered photographs with a person's face or a distinctive enough feature to identify them. As he gets older, more tabs are added to the bio, and he starts to notice signs above certain people's heads telling him what level he needs to be to fight them (he stops seeing these after receiving OfA, until he sees AfO in Kamino Ward). In pictures, only the first tab is available unless he took the picture while time was frozen, in which case all the tabs are accessible. Because of this, he has accordion folders filled with photographs of people instead of analysis notebooks.
Of Unpainted Fences and Raw Ingredients - Smart Izuku AU. He has been writing essays about hero society, morality, and several other issues since before UA, but he doesn't realize how much people are paying attention to them until the essays start becoming required reading for certain classes. Meanwhile, the teachers are desperate to get in contact with him, not expecting that the essayist they have been gushing over is sitting near the back of the class, trying not to blush.
In A Mirror Darkly - Aizawa is out on patrol with Shinsou and Midoriya when they are attacked and the boys are apparently obliterated by an enemy quirk. The rest of the class attempts to help Aizawa, but he blames himself for their deaths. It doesn't help that he keeps seeing flashes of them in the mirror out of the corner of his eye and could swear he heard one or both of their voices in the middle of the night. Meanwhile, Shinsou and Midoriya are stuck out of sync with the rest of the universe and can't communicate with anyone except Aizawa, and only through mirrors. Izuku figured out that they have maybe two weeks before they waste away since they can't interact with anything being stuck in this in-between space. The only way they can get out is for Aizawa, who was there when they de-synced, to touch them and bring them back in sync with the rest of the world.
Guerilla Tactics - Vigilante Class 1-A AU. After the slime villain debacle, Izuku runs away from Bakugou and the heroes. He literally runs into Todoroki Shouto and they commiserate about how the heroes have failed them. Realizing a bit late exactly who Shouto's father is and why he's trying to run away, Izuku offers to come up with a plan to help him get away cleanly. (This is sort of the worst timeline, where most of the good teachers aren't employed at UA, Nezu is not the principal, and the HPSC is in charge of almost everything.) The plan they come up with involves Shouto failing the recommended exam, then disappearing the day results arrive home. Izuku, meanwhile, attends the regular exam and sees how the whole points system benefits those with flashier quirks and easily aimed egos. He gets to talking with a lot of hero hopefuls and sort of steals them out from under UA when their applications are rejected. They move into an abandoned sector of outer Tokyo and start working as vigilantes. Dadzawa makes an appearance, as if summoned by the horde of teenagers with no form of parental guidance to speak of.
No Rest for the Wicked (Or The Damned) - Person Of Interest AU. Instead of apologizing to Izuku when he asked if he could still be a hero without a quirk, Inko points out the other ways he can be a hero, by building the things they would need to fight crime. Figuring that one of the main problems with villains is that no one knows when they're going to attack, Izuku creates an intelligent program that can assess a high volume of data and extrapolate when and where a villain attack will take place, and who the villain will be. When his mom is killed and he's badly injured in an attack his AI predicted, Izuku realizes that no one is taking his information seriously because he's quirkless. He decides to take matters into his own hands and reaches out to an unlikely helper. Dabi doesn't know why this kid decided he was the best option to stop a lot of the more violent crime he somehow knows is going to happen, but he promised and then delivered Endeavor's fall from grace, so he's willing to see where this goes.
Binary Stars - Slight Megamind AU. Before their respective planets were destroyed, Izuku and Bakugou were placed in small space pods and sent towards Earth. Bakugou's people were warriors who looked enough like humans that they intermarried (unbeknownst to humans), thus bringing about the first quirks. Izuku's people, however, are survivors. Their planet was populated by predators so their greatest asset was their ability to camouflage themselves. As Bakugou's people often hunted Izuku's people, they gained a sort of sixth sense for them, which is why Izuku's very presence pisses Bakugou off. (All for One is from Bakugou's planet. He was exiled for stealing power. The last power he stole was what he gave his brother, and the brother always resented him for getting them both sent away.) Izuku still receives OfA, and is the first of his species to have a quirk/power like that.
The Wings of Icarus - Spy AU. Todoroki Shouto works for Yuuei, an espionage agency run by his father. He's been training practically since birth, no thanks to his father, and is second in the spy business only to a person known as Icarus. When something goes wrong on a mission, he is rescued by a short man with freckles and deep green eyes shortly before he passes out. He is found at one of the entrances to Yuuei with a note from Icarus to the tune of "I think you lost this", making Shouto the only person to have actually seen Icarus. Meanwhile, Nezu is running a small but successful info brokerage out of a bakery with three kids he picked up off the streets years before: Izuku, Shinsou, and Hatsume. Codenames: Icarus, Psyche, and Daedalus, respectively. Nezu is known as Zeus.
Dark is the Night (Momo is Batman: version 1) - Based on an idea from @terrible-my-hero-academia-aus . Momo loses her parents in a villain attack when she's eight. She throws herself into her studies in earnest, determined to be a hero. In the meantime, however, she has a hard time ignoring all of the hardship she sees on the streets, all of the crimes that go unanswered.  However, to duck the vigilantism laws and disguise her identity, she wears a suit that covers every part of her body (think Cassandra Cain as Batgirl) because no one would assume that someone with a creation quirk that needed exposed skin to function was under it. She produces everything she needs at home. Aizawa notices that there's someone off about Yaomomo, something fake. It isn't until he runs into her on patrol that he figures something out.
Used to the Darkness (Momo is Batman: version 2) - Based on an idea from @terrible-my-hero-academia-aus . Bruce Wayne was reincarnated as Yaoyorozu Momo. She remembers everything about her previous life, but she has adapt all of the fighting training she knows to her new female body. The intelligence and detective skills are useful in this new world, especially since a good portion of logic and deduction has fallen by the wayside for the majority of those in law enforcement. The quirk is something else to get used to, but it's highly effective at producing materials of various things needed for vigilantism. She's interested to see how far she can take the limits of the superpower this universe had given her. At the very least, she's more than capable of recreating the gear she had. Even though her parents haven't died in this universe, she still ends up going out at night and trying to help in whatever way she can. Upon meeting and befriending Todoroki Shouto, she realizes the good she can be in this universe. She attacked the corruption in Gotham wherever she could. Why shouldn't she be able to do the same here? The night is still dark and the people who hide in it are the same cowards they've always been. It's about time someone reminded them that the dark hides more than just their actions.
A Rose By Any Other Name (AKA the Haruhi AU) - Based on a prompt found on @rayshippouuchiha‘s blog. Midoriya Izumi is having trouble staying in uniform after starting middle school because her bullies have decided to step up the abuse a little bit and keep burning them. She had three sets of uniforms, and all three are burned by the third day of classes. What's more, the nurse doesn't have any spare girls uniforms and her teacher insists that she needs to be in uniform and not in her gym outfit. Since the nurse does have a boys uniform that would fit her, Izumi elects to follow her teacher's instructions and shows up in a boys uniform as she doesn't care as much about the clothes she's wearing as she does about following what her teacher said. Cue a gender identity crisis. AO3
Nothing But The Truth - Izuku is hit by a truth quirk while out on patrol and Aizawa is made to babysit him until it wears off. Although he tries to avoid more sensitive lines of questioning, Aizawa asks about his analysis notebooks and ends up accidentally learning about One For All, Izuku's life prior to receiving it, and what his Problem Child's true goals regarding heroism are. (Might become a series with this as a oneshot, or a multi-chapter story as originally planned.)
Panacea - Izuku has a hidden quirk his whole life, one that people didn't even consider could be a quirk. He has a super-powered immune system, and it can and will treat damaging quirks as an infection to fight. His burns from Bakugou's quirk heal faster and faster, emitter quirks used on him start to be less effective after the first couple of times until they don't work at all. He has the ultimate cure in his blood and no way to share it. And then he receives One For All, a powerful stockpiling quirk with a secondary aspect that makes it capable of passing from person to person regardless of heritage. Izuku doesn't realize it, but his invisible quirk got a free pass to start changing the world, one touch at a time. (Possible Dad For One) (Just had the stupid thought that Izuku's quirk is basically Cure For All)
Prototype - While getting scolded after the Slime Villain incident, an underground hero known as Prototype shows up and forces the other pros on the scene to back off. They then walk Izuku home (accidentally forcing him to miss All Might's offer). During the walk, Izuku confesses that he is giving up on his dream of being a hero since everyone says it's impossible. Prototype points out that Izuku was the only one on the scene who was thinking about a solution from more than one angle, which is a useful skill for an underground hero to have. They offer to take him on as their apprentice in the underground, promising that if he still wants to be a hero, an apprenticeship would be more flexible and faster than trying to become a hero through one of the heroics schools. They advise Izuku to think about it and discuss it with his mom, since he would probably be spending a lot of time training out of the house and not every parent is willing to let their child basically move in with someone they barely know. Izuku, after talking things over with his mom, decides to go for it, embarking on a totally different journey to being a hero than he ever expected.
Yesterday's Sunshine (A Storm On The Rise) - Based on @hey-hamlet's End of An Era AU in which the mind of a 19 year old Izuku fighting a losing battle against Paranormal Liberation Front and the League of Villains is sent back to his 14 year old body, a mere month after he started training with All Might. He is traumatized and trying to hide the fact that he is shocked to see the people he knows died walking around again, untouched and whole. He's determined to make everything better this time, to keep his loved ones from dying or betraying him in the worst ways. He also needs to try and stay ahead of the people around him, who are trying to figure out why this child who shouldn't have encountered many villains in his life, is so terrifyingly good at putting them down hard. (I'm considering adding an aspect of DFO.)
Searching for Tododeku - Or Five Times Shouto Tricks Midoriya Into A Date and One Time Midoriya Asks Him Instead. Featuring semi oblivious Izuku, Shouto stealth-competing for the title of supreme memelord with Kaminari, and a cameo of Endeavor's crippling addiction to tabloid magazines.
Planar Shift - An All For One-Izuku body swap just weeks prior to a fight that would have left AFO and All Might both greviously injured. Izuku is quick to realize that the person he ended up in doesn't seem to be a nice person (and he tries not to think about what it would mean if the person is in his body around Kacchan) and has a lot more quirks than a person should have. His childhood doctor is there, as is a strange boy with delicate skin, a disintegration quirk, and a love of video games but little else. Then there's the purple mist person who reads as both alive and dead to one of Izuku's new quirks. When he figures out that All Might is trying to track this villain down (and will probably think it's a trick if Izuku tries to explain his situation), he decides that he should get himself, the kid, and the not-dead-but-not-alive person out of there. He doesn't know how long he's going to be in this body, but he wants to be the hero those two need, even if he's technically a villain.
Environmental Damage - Hitman Izuku AU. When Izuku's mother is killed when he's young, he manages to track down the killer but the police won't take him seriously because he's quirkless. Neither will any of the heroes he approached with it. So instead he goes back to the criminal underground where he found most of his information and talks to an assassin who had a soft spot for him. Izuku agreed to become the man's apprentice so he can take out the person who killed his mother himself. After that, he starts selling his services to people who can't get out of bad situations, offering a much reduced rate compared to other contract killers. Then a kid his age with red and white hair approaches him about killing the Number Two hero.
Summertime and Seaglass - Aizawa keeps running into this mute homeless kid on his patrols. He's not sure what to make of him, except that he needs someone to care for him, especially as the nights are getting colder. Treating the kid a bit like an abused and feral cat, he starts taking food with him to offer the kid when they meet up. It's more or less an accident when he learns the kid's name is Midoriya Izuku, a child thought to be dead and burned three years before when he and his mother were caught in a villain attack that was ended violently by Endeavor. Aizawa wants to give Midoriya and all of the other victims of Endeavor's carelessness the justice they deserve, and maybe by the time he's done the kid will let him bring him in from the cold.
The Importance of Being Batman - (Based on an idea from @terrible-my-hero-academia-aus .) Izuku spends a lot of time on forums for quirkless people, getting support and advice from other people like him who don't have a quirk. He gets the attention of an old Admin, Toshinori, and they talk about heroics, pre-quirk comic books, and the importance of representation and symbols in modern media and culture. After failing to get into heroics in the entrance exam, Izuku shifts his focus slightly. Batman didn't have any special powers in the comics, but he was one of the best heroes in his universe. Izuku decides that if he can build the skills, knowledge and (most importantly) money to become his own version of Batman, that would be almost like being a hero. It's time that society learns that 'useless' is a matter of choice, not birth, and even someone who doesn't have a quirk can do incredible things.

Hey Wiz! The recent question about Eri potentially having the ability to destroy quirks ala the bullets made from her got me thinking, considering how out of control it was and how much she was afraid of it, do you think they (Eraser and others) ever considered trying to get their hands on the bullets and using one on Eri? Would’ve made things easier for her, though Mirio wouldn’t have ever gotten his quirk back. Or even attempting to create them for general use, so that adults who only suffer from their quirk can make the choice to lose it. I feel like as much as the anti-discrimination message is great from MHA, some quirks seem genuinely awful to live with.
For the first half of your question, as the second half is a lot more interesting to discuss, I doubt it would be considered. Not only were the bullets long gone by this point and the only person who could make them is catatonic, Aizawa is right there. He's more then able to help Eri get a better grasp on her powers.
Tumblr media
So I understand where you are coming from with the more ethical usages of the drug. Given the wide range of abilities and the costs of having them, I can see people wanting to get rid of them, either for the sake of convenience or for their own safety. For example, there are people who suffer from certain defects when it comes to their abilities, such as the boney guy from the All For One flashbacks, or others that can struggle to lead normal lives because of their abilities, such as a character in Vigilantes who had issues finding housing to suit his unique body. Even cases like Eri and Tomura could be less of an issue. Yes, Eri had Aizawa to help her out, but not everyone is going to be as lucky with that or have a power that is as easy to train.
However, I think there are a lot of flaws with this. Ignoring the requirements for making the drug, there are the massive ethical questions of someone using the drug in the first place. Quirks are something deeply personal to an induvial. It has a heavy impact on someone's life and identity. To remove it is something considered horrific and inhumane. It's part of what makes All For One such a monster in the setting, callously robbing others of their individuality. I bring this up because this is drug being out in the open is affectively Pandora's box. Once someone has this ability, what's to stop them from abusing it or someone else getting their hands on it for them to abuse it? At least Kai could limit the supply of it as the source of it. Even in the ideal usage of it, there could be problems. Like what if someone has a dangerous ability, but doesn't want to get rid of it?
And you could say that it's up to the individual to if they want to use it. Are you really telling me that the government or other groups would not take and abuse this power? They would be firing these off at the first sign of trouble. Some person with a problem Quirk? Load the dart and take the shot. That's not even mentioning people wanting to use them on criminals. The second they go to jail, they are going to be hit with that drug both as a form of punishment and ease of containment, which is a whole different kind of inhumane. There is an antidote, but there isn't anything stopping the government or other people from lording it over them, if they even want to give it back in the first place. You can get your Quirk back when you've served your parole or do this task for us, kind of thing. Ultimately, I think this works to show just how dangerous the Quirk Destroying Bullet could have been if it had gotten out of hand.

My Thoughts on the New MHA Opening and Ending
Tumblr media
I have thoughts, and I will share them because oh boy if I don’t get this out I’m gonna explode
Vague Spoilers for the manga (up to chapter 258 and vigilantes) because I discuss the upcoming arcs, but I don’t discuss any major plot points in detail. Still, proceed with caution if you’re anime only
Keep in mind, this OP and ED will cover the Endeavour Agency Arc and the MVA Arc, so I will be judging them accordingly.
First, the OP
Tumblr media
This is a good OP... in theory (that’s going to become my catchphrase for this post). It’s nice to look at and flows pretty well, but my biggest problem is that it doesn’t do it’s job. An OP is supposed to be a sort of... summary (?) of the Cour it plays for. That means any cool plot points, emotional beats, and important characters should be featured in some way, shape, or form. We’ll talk about that more later, but first let’s discuss the music.
The song is really good. I have a feeling it will continue to grow on me as I listen to it more often, but yeah my first impression is that the song sounds great. My only complaint about the music itself is that it ends kind of abruptly (I noticed this is the JT opening too). The previous openings used to have a bit of instrumental to “play us out” and lead us to the end card, but this one feels like it ends very suddenly and unnaturally.
As for the visuals...
Tumblr media
Yeah alright I’ll admit, the visuals are stunning... in theory. I appreciate the variety in backgrounds and colours, it makes the OP really interesting to look at. This was actually one of my biggest problems with the JT Opening, it all took place on the training grounds, so there was no variety (everything was metal tubes with a blue sky, with only 3 shots set somewhere different). I appreciate the style of this OP.
But like I said, that’s only in theory, as in, through screenshots these are all pleasing to look at. The pacing of this OP is wild, and I truly don’t know who to blame for this.
That sunset shot above? It lasts approximately 12 seconds, zooming in every few to make it seem like something is happening (when in reality it’s still the same poses, angles, etc). While there’s nothing wrong with a nice, drawn out shot, it becomes irritating when compared to the pacing of the rest of this op.
Tumblr media
At the 41 second mark, we are given the shot above. It has flowed directly from the previous sunset scene. We still have not moved away from the image of the trio (aside from the opening shot and the title card) yet we’re approaching the halfway mark of the OP.
Tumblr media
The next shot is the MLA, which lasts about 5 seconds. Ok, perfect. Not too long, but also not short enough to be confusing. It cuts away a little fast once the dude on the far left appears, but does anyone actually know who that is? No, seriously, I’m asking. I don’t remember his name and he’s not on the wiki, so I can only assume he’s not important. Therefore, it’s not all that bad if the shot cuts away shortly after he comes into frame. The audience is able to take in the scene without having to pause...
Tumblr media
... And then the problems start
While this shot is fine in theory, it pans up fast and  cuts away quickly. You know how hard it was for me to get this screenshot? Really hard. You want to know why I struggled so much? Because, due to the timing of the cut and the way it pans upwards, it’s almost impossible to pause on Dabi’s face. I literally had to go frame by frame to get it, because he’s in shot for so little time that naturally pausing is guaranteed to miss him.
When watching this in real time (without pausing) the cut away makes you feel as if you missed something because “something was there, I just couldn’t register what because now it’s gone”. Unlike Compress, who wears a very colourful coat you can recognize the entire time, Dabi’s pants are more blended into the background.
It also doesn’t help that this shot is literally composed to draw your attention away from Dabi until the last possible second. Due to framing, your eye is naturally drawn to the brightly coloured Toga in the foreground, making it super easy to miss Dabi in the back (until, of course, his bright face appears and contrasts against the background, drawing your eye just in time for the scene to change, leaving you to wonder who or what you missed).
I know this sounds like nitpicking, but this shot is the only group shot we get of the League, and is also the start of a seriously weird trend for the villains in this OP getting the short end of the stick.
Tumblr media
Anyways, then we get what I’ll call “The Carousel Shot” in which every Class 1A kid shows up and poses dramatically, as if they were on a carousel. It’s a lovely sequence and I really enjoy watching it but... why is it in this OP?
Seriously, this is a genuine question. Class 1A barely shows up in the Endeavour Agency Arc, and NONE of the students are in MVA. This sequence (not counting the three boys at the end) lasts 8 seconds. Why is this much time dedicated to characters who are barely in the arc? (Unless Studio Bones extends their work studies into fuller plot lines which oh my gosh please don’t do that, or if they do, do it quick).
Tumblr media
We then get what I call the “Oh God I Blinked And Missed Everything” sequence, which lasts 3 seconds (not including the longer, moving shot of Shigaraki at the end) and features NINE INDIVIDUAL IMAGES, none of which are related to each other. Not only is this 3 images per second, but the fact that they are all unrelated means you can’t even use previous information to fill in the blanks.
What do I mean by that? Well, imagine if I show you 9 images of various pro heroes posing. If I play that in 3 seconds you’ll absolutely miss some of them, but as long as you catch some you’ll still get an idea of what I’m trying to show to you. Your brain is able to fill in the gaps that “I recognized 4 pro heroes, therefore the rest must have also been pros” even if you didn’t register every single frame.
That doesn’t work if every frame features a completely different subject. The shots in this sequence vary so widely that it’s impossible to find a through line. Some feature multiple characters, some feature one, some are closeups, some are super far away, some are character’s we know, others are characters we don’t. It’s impossible to get a solid read on what you’re being shown.
Now, again, there’s nothing wrong with these super quick shots... in theory. The problem comes from the fact that these shots are the only indicators for some of the major themes that will be explored during this Cour (like Twice’s growth and young Shigaraki).
That being said, let’s move away from criticism and talk about speculation, because hidden amongst this sequence are two... interesting images.
Tumblr media
This All Might one is very reminiscent of the shot in Chapter 257, where Aizawa and All Might have a conversation while staring up at the stars. However, this is technically the start of the “War Arc” (or the “prologue”, if that’s what you want to call it), so this might indicate that we’re going to get farther into the series than a lot of us guessed.
(Many people suspected we’d get to that cliffhanger at the start of the season (if you read the manga you know the one), but after seeing the pacing for JT a lot of us assumed we’d be lucky to even finish Endeavour Agency. It seems we’re back to the cliffhanger now though lol).
Tumblr media
This is another really interesting shot because it’s indicative of Shirakumo, meaning we might get to see Aizawa and Mic confront him some time this Cour (this also makes sense, since this confrontation technically happens before that All Might scene I mentioned in the previous paragraph).
But the cat specifically is a really strange addition. That cat is named Sushi and, correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t think Sushi is ever mentioned in the main series. I think he’s only in Vigilantes.
This might just be a little Easter Egg for Vigilante readers, but I’m personally hoping that they’ll add at least a few Vigilante shots in there to really tug at the heart strings. I’d say I want a whole Vigilante episode but I don’t think they have the time (unless they really cram MVA, which I do NOT want).
Tumblr media
I don’t have much to say about the last bit of the OP. The action shot between the 3 boys was nice, and it follows the sort of narrative through line they established from the early shot of them sitting at the sunset. I also like the shot of Endeavour fading in to replace All Might, even if it’s very simple.
Tumblr media
But I want to talk about an overarching problem I touched upon earlier in that villain shot: the way the villains are handled in this OP.
This is a good OP... in theory. The problem is, it doesn’t represent half the arcs in the cour! Every shot of the League is so rushed that you can barely register that they were on screen before they’re gone.
I have no idea how many Episodes Endeavour Agency will take, but I’d assume 3 (4 if you count the Christmas episode). 12 episodes for this Cour minus 3 for Endeavour Agency = 9 episodes left. If we truly do get the prologue for the War Arc (and if we assume it’s only 1 episode) that leaves us with 8 villains episodes.
8/12 episodes (aka two thirds of the Cour) will likely be about the villains. And yet they’re pushed to the background so hard in this OP.
I want to dream, and I want to believe that this OP is going to magically change when MVA starts. The song fits super well, and I can imagine like an inversion of the OP but from the Villain side! Wouldn’t that be neat? Imagine right after the “it’s alright” part Shigaraki just freaking decays the title card... oh man that would be so cool. But, alas, I highly doubt they’d do that.
Side rant, but you know what was so fun about MVA in the manga? It’s that, for 21 chapters, we leave the kids behind and the villains become our protagonists. Suddenly Shigaraki is the one we’re rooting for, suddenly we’re learning backstories for everyone, and suddenly we find ourselves just as attached to the villains as we are to the kids. It’s an inversion that’s SO RARE to find, and I think many people (myself included) were hoping it would be reflected in the OP.
A big part of being the protagonist means featuring heavily in the OP, and a lot of us just wanted the villains to get that honour, even if only once. As is, the OP still treats them as the antagonists when... really they aren’t. Not right now, at least.
Tumblr media
So yeah, final thoughts on the OP are that it’s good, it’s just not very representative of the arcs it’s supposed to cover. If this was just for Endeavour Agency, I’d say it’s actually really cool, but if we assume that this is what will play for the Villain Arc, then it simply doesn’t do it’s job. And it makes me sad to say that because, again, this OP is really well done.
If I had to rate it? Hmmm
If Studio Bones actually grants my wish and creates a different visual for the Villain Arc (while using the same song) and then this version only plays for the Endeavour Agency Arc and the War Prologue? I’d give it an 8/10. It’s really good, but it could use a few more elements that are clearly derived from the Agency Arc (ahem, Todoroki siblings).
But if this is the OP that will play for the entire Cour? a 6.5/10. It’s nice, but it’s not representative of one of the arcs it’s going to cover. And, unlike other arcs like Pro Hero or Summer Exams, the villain Arc is so important and takes up so much time that it honestly feels like a bit of a disservice.
Now for the Ending
Tumblr media
I want to say that I appreciate how soft this ending starts. This cour will likely feature a lot of episodes that end on... heavier themes, and I think the sight of peaceful, falling raindrops is the perfect way to let the audience process their emotions before starting the ending in earnest.
The song itself is very nice, and I like that it’s a bit slower than the more recent endings.
(Side note, but the FUNNIEST moment in the entire series is when Sir Nighteye dies because it’s so emotional and everyone is standing around his bed in his heartwrentching silence, only for the ending to come BLARING IN out of no where. If you forgot how jarringly hilarious it was, go listen to the Eri ending and tell me that’s not the funniest thing this series ever did. Anyways yeah I’m glad that’s not gonna happen this Cour).
Tumblr media
This ending is a bit all over the place in terms of it’s visuals, but honestly I think it works. Most endings usually have a theme tying them together (all the Class 1A girls, a fantasy AU, old photographs, planning a party, etc) but this ending’s theme is a bit harder to identify.
That being said, I think it’s just supposed to show everyone going about their day. It’s calm, it’s peaceful, and it’s just very sweet to think about
Tumblr media
I like this shot. Actually, scratch that, I like this whole sequence. I enjoy anything that allows Class 1A to chill and have fun.
Tumblr media
Hawks is featured quite heavily in this ending which, fair. He’s pretty important in this arc.
I really love the shot where Endeavour immediately switches to Hawks, I thought that was a lot of fun, and very good symbolism on how Hawks wants to be like Endeavour. I also love all the shots of Baby Hawks, because it’s adorable.
Tumblr media
Something about this shot is just so cute. It’s the little domestic things like waiting for a bus that make this ending feel... idk the word, real? It shows a side of the characters that we’ll never see in the episodes, but we know have to exist.
Like yes, of course the kids have to wait for the bus. We never see it, but of course there are those moments of quiet. Agh, I love it.
Tumblr media
The villains also make an appearance and I’m very happy about that (I’d love to see more of the villains just chilling around, I think they deserve it). I kind of wish they weren’t sitting in a dark room for the sake of being edgy, since I think it would be nice to see the villains just... sort of existing, but honestly it’s still a nice shot. I also like how this shot sort of mirrors the first one with Class 1A (someone coming in while everyone else is sitting and waiting for them).
Tumblr media
That being said, as much as I love looking at Dabi and his stupid face (affectionate)... why is Dabi the one getting the closeup?
Mind you, endings don’t need to be connected to their Cours (they can be, like the Eri one, but they don’t have to be). But this ending does seem to be connected to the arcs it intends to cover, given all the Hawks appearances, the boys wearing their work study scarves, etc.
So, I ask again, why Dabi? Out of the six League members, we learn the backstory for four of them in this arc (Shigaraki, Toga, Twice, and we very briefly learn about Spinner). The only two left out are Dabi and Compress.
I can only assume they chose Dabi because he’s constantly in contact with Hawks, and therefore that makes him important? If the OP told us anything, it’s that Bones values the Endeavour Agency Arc over the Villain Arc lol...
... Oh my gosh please tell me that’s not actually the reason Dabi is focused on here BONES WAI-
Tumblr media
Anyways, the ending comes to a close with Hawks watching over the kids and Endeavour. The relaxing time is done, it’s time for work studies.
Overall impression? It’s great. It’s hard to screw up an ending, so as long as you have something pretty on screen, it’s wonderful.
I’ll give this a 9/10

I don’t blame people who says Aizawa is a bad teacher or a hypocrite, but you’re an account that I am comfortable sharing this because you also love eraser head. (It’s okay if you don’t want to post it)
Even Aizawa admitted to himself that he is a terrible teacher and mostly forced to teach as based on the vigilantes manga where Nemuri recommended Shota to be a teacher, but what he did to DEKU is somehow relevant for me.
Yes it is true that during the first part he hated Izuku’s guts and regarded him as having no potential but Aizawa was also testing the kid because whichever way watchers should know, Aizawa is right on the fact that Izuku just can’t attack recklessly and impulsively after having such destructive quirk. He did not disregard Izuku’s quirk, he is merely testing the kid to find his other resolve. As for Bakugo’s case Aizawa truly had a hard time disciplining him but he is watching him closely like what Mitsuki (Bakugo’s mom) said, so when All Might took tutelage of Midoriya (and Bakugo) he had no objections because as a HOMEROOM teacher, All Might is the best training for Izuku’s quirk (which is relatively passed onto him)
He is never a hypocrite for teaching Shinso. I don’t see anything wrong about that because I really understand that some training teachers have their own prodigy and he’s a homeroom teacher all he is accountable off is the overlooking at the their hero training which he did well because he focused on the student individual’s strength in the summer camp.
Aizawa also mentioned in a chapter in manga (254) why he expelled students in the past. He knew his capability as a homeroom teacher and he himself knows that he is a terrible teacher hence, re-enrolled them to other school where they would work with a new homeroom teacher. Some may see it as escaping of “escaping duties” but I really think during that time, Aizawa was just thinking what he thinks is best for the students. Afterall, he had proven himself good in manga as someone who really cares for ALL THE STUDENTS.
Blaming Aizawa for the events in 1A is practically uncalled and irrelevant, might as well just say the entire UA should be held accountable. He just had a poor decision making most especially when the truth about Kurogiri is revealed. However, even though he is not the best teacher, I can safely say that Aizawa is a decent and good teacher.
v v v long post ahead
yes anon!!!!. not my biased self speaking... he is not as great as other teachers, but saying shouta is a terrible teacher is uncalled for. he is a decent prof for me. made some mistakes, helps his students. it’s decent.
i firmly believe aizawa and all might are better example as a pro hero than teachers.
(Gonna point some of his mistakes in my perspective as a former teacher under the cut)
he was strict for a reason but he showed his care for all the students during the fight in manga (not gonna say since its spoiler) even aizawa himself knows he is terrible at teaching but at least he is trying😂
i also heard fans saying that because momo, tenya and todoroki are from rich and well known prohero family aizawa never bothered to scold at them. AGAIN IT IS WRONG TO SAY THAT.
momo, iida and todoroki...yes rich and families are known for being heroes but they practically never did anything to trouble aizawa so why else bother them? during their test, aizawa gave advice for todoroki and momo which considerably helped them.
aizawa’s way of teaching is to give harsh critiques and let the student have their own resolve. but as a former student and teacher speaking, it is both right and wrong to have that approach.
it’s definitely okay to let them figure out their own resolve (HAPPENS A LOT IN MED SCHOOL PROFS ARE HARSH HUHU) but it is important to somehow give them base and foundation before actually figuring out their so-called own resolves. i think it’s what aizawa lacks the most AS A TEACHER. but then again his entire character build up clearly says he’s not for teaching.
he was also called a hypocrite for teaching shinso but they aren’t picking on all might for mostly focusing on deku nor endeavor only wanting to focus on shoto. it’s not wrong to have their own prodigies because at the very least aizawa helped overlook his students like what he did in the summer camp and like what all might did in student practicals.
not just aizawa but all might, endeavor, nighteye and even gran torino have personal decisions on closely training those selected kids
aizawa WAS the only teacher who called the entrance/admission test irrelevant for non-physical quirks. HE KNEW IT WAS A PROBLEM SO HE HELPED SHINSO TO BE ON HERO DEPARTMENT bc he know the kid’s opportunity to be a pro hero in the future. he experienced that himself, although his quirk is powerful it was completely non-physical that is why his and shinso’s ability are less likely to be recognized. coz i agree the quirk admission test was somehow iffy... there should have been psychological quirk test too but i understand the point where fans tell that “it’s a student’s job to take advantage of their quirk rather than complain in the disadvantages of having a non-physical quirk.”
I agree on that statement but as a former student myself, i think reconsiderations should have existed coz there are probably lots of great students in general course department (like shinsou).
—and tbh... aizawa and kakashi are often the teachers who are regarded as ‘terrible ones’ but i don’t think so.
im not gonna point out kakashi’s but im gonna say aizawa’s role as a homeroom teacher. back in highschool, ive homeschooled in japan for 2 yrs due to personal reasons and i can say that based on their culture in japan and asia countries in general have a different approach on homeroom teachers.
homeroom teachers in japan are technically the ones who overlook the students, ppl who argued that aizawa should train them is irrelevant because all might is their combat and hero training teacher. aizawa is not meant to teach, but rather supervise.
which is why aizawa (as the homeroom teacher) and all might (the hero training teacher) are the ones who had council with parents because technically, aizawa is responsible for the students safety. HOWEVER....
manga spoilers on the cut
some anti aizawa fans are totally wrong to blame everything in him for 1A always being in dangerous circumstances because after reading the on going manga, they have no damned idea AT FIRST who the league of villains is responsible of. THE ENTIRE UA SHOULD BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE, not just aizawa I agree on that anon.
for aizawa and the rest it is still a puzzle in the early, i repeat early chapters of the manga what the league is really after aside from killing all might and changing the system of pro heroes.
yes. I agree he had bad decisions on the victims, mainly Kurogiri because he knew it was his friend. He regarded Kurogiri as a ‘victim’ but somehow disregarded the casualties it caused. It was irrational for aizawa to say it like that coz it was obviously a word out of his feelings in the past. can’t blame him (imo) but it was truly irrational and irrelevant for him to say it like that.
there are times aizawa as a teacher just harshly criticized them and let them have their own resolve which is in fact, pretty harsh for a bunch of 15 year olds. but i think aizawa only wants them to have their own resolve since its what aizawa has been doing since episode 5.
i think it was bad for aizawa to let iida go where his brother was attacked, he should have acted upon it as a homeroom teacher to secure iida’s safety but then again, ITS FOR THE SAKE OF PLOT😂
im going to say this again... as a former teacher speaking, it is bad for aizawa just to give the students harsh critiques and letting them figure their own resolves.
it’s not a bad teaching approach BUT that kind of approach doesn’t work ALL THE TIME. sometimes, aizawa needs to teach the basics, base and foundation so the students would have an easier time to HAVE AN ACTUAL SOLUTION
because as a student for 9 years in pre and med school, it is definitely hard to make critical decisions WITHOUT being taught the foundation and base first.
it’s like aizawa not teaching an intern general surgery but letting them have their own decisions if the intern is gonna decide whether to lead the surgery or not.
his teaching approach is not bad but it doesn’t work all the time. as a teacher, pro hero and adult he needs to imply his own experience as well which where the erasure hero lacks. But then again it’s plot and aizawa’s introvert character build up so we can’t really blame him because they need the plot to keep going.
personally, aizawa’s main mistake is not knowing what to teach for the answers to questions the students are not expected to know from teaching answers to questions the students are expected to know.
if aizawa’s gonna be that perfect teacher and all, the show would have been boring😂
though aizawa did assessed on their quirks during summer training arc but i think it was not enough for the fans.
aizawa is much more better as a pro hero alone. he does his job perfectly as pro hero.
so in conclusion, i think aizawa needs to have seminar with me 🤪 im gonna teach my man the proper and basics of teaching. HAHAHAHA KIDDING 🤪 (lowkey not kidding)

Thelreads, MHA 242, Replies Part 1
1) “And now that we’re up to date remembering the members of class 1-A we continue our journey through the world of BNHA. There’s not much to say because not much happened last time, so let’s not waste any more time and get right back to it! This is Chapter 242-
..
“Have a Merry Christmas!”…”- This was quote a fortuitous chapter for you to reach right now, come to think of it. Wish I’d remembered the festive spirit of Eri Claus was due to visit you in advance.
2) “That’s dangerous Nezu, you’re a rat, and Aizawa has a lot of cats, just so you know…”- This makes me wonder- If Nezu is an example of a mouse that gained sentience by a quirk, are there cats and larger animals that gained quirks as well? And what happens when quirk-using animals meet each other? Does Tom and Jerry get taken to an entirely new level by a super-hero level battle in the middle of a city? What happens when something like a bear gets a quirk? Or a Tree? I guess that Monster Cat creature in vigilantes could count as an example of a Cat that was forcibly given a quirk through Trigger unlocking its inherent genetics, but I dunno if it retained the abilities after the drug wore off.
3) “But yeah, important meeting™ as we’re talking about the work studies, and how those kids are really about to be thrown into the fire without knowing. The commission is aware that they are going to need heroes they can trust, because a huge chunk of the ones that exist at the moment are working for the other side.”- Honestly, the nebulousness of the PLF’s current forces is arguably one of their bigger strengths right now. It’s unclear how many forces they have, now many recruits they’ve got and how many people are getting drawn into seeing things their way through their sneaky recruitment methods- in fact, I doubt even the top brass themselves are even fully aware of the exact numbers, just the core members and true believers and their locations.
Plus, every day that does by risks further numbers being added to their ranks and the PLF themselves becoming aware of the commission’s own investigative efforts into them, aided however well he can by hawks, whose position is arguably both their one true ray of hope and biggest liability. If he can find out enough about the PLF he can help maximise their first strike to make it a devastating one that cuts off all the heads of the hydra at once, but the same snooping he’s got to preform also risks exposing the Commission’s focus on the PLF before they’re ready to strike. Plus, even if said attack is successful, if they don’t get all the members at once, there’s the risk that the survivors could create another MLA down the line using the remnants of the PLF’s efforts, just like what happened with Re-Destro.
The Commission needs more info to make the inevitable fight as decisive as they can, but at the same time, there’s a massive risk that they’ll either be unable to get everybody in one go, or trying to find out the information to make that a certainty will expose Hawks and the commission and squander the element of surprise.
4) “Oh Midnight noticed that there’s something off about this, and as they don’t know yet that the real reason they want even more heroes to go into the field is because there are a lot of pro heroes working with the paranormal liberation front, this might be the moment where they’ll find out that those kids are pretty much being conscripted into a war they aren’t ready for.”- No-one’s ever really ready and prepared for war- not even the veteran heroes have probably ever engaged in the kind of wide-scale quirk conflict that’s threatening to erupt of the PLF actually succeed in kicking off their revolution. They’ve tackled gangs of quirk users but they’ve always held the numbers advantage in a society saturated by superheroes- an army of Villains isn’t something that’s existed for years, ever since the time of AFO or Destro. If anything, the 1A kids being thrust into such high-risk stakes long before they’re supposed to and coming out on top means they’re better equipped to participate in such a fight than most their fellow student age-group.
It’s impossible to peacefully resolve the situation at present, and the PLF are going to launch an attack on the country before long- they’re all too dissatisfied and repressed by the current status quo not to, it’s the only way they can see to finally feeling free and getting to achieve their dreams. With that in mind, the only thing the commission and the veteran heroes can do is ensure they have as much training and preparation as they can conceivably get away with, without such an intense focus on improving the students seeming suspicious to any watchful eyes.
5) “Nezu probably doesn’t know the whole story- at least I don’t think he would lie in a moment like this, and he also wouldn’t be the type to just accept putting those kids in danger like that. He’s in agreement with them that there is something wrong, and more than that, he noticed that this whole thing was probably made this ambiguous because the commission doesn’t know who could be hearing, so to speak.”- To fool your enemies, first fool your friends, but before even that, pick friends who are sharp enough to join the dots and paint the whole picture on their own initiative.
6) “Oh yeah, Aizawa just spelled it with all words. Oh boy, I can’t wait to see how he’ll handle this one, considering all we saw about his past, I’m sure he’ll oppose this one in principle.”- He might technically oppose it emotionally, and if there’s any viable alternative to resolve it without getting the kids on the front line he’ll go for it, but the issue is that it’s not up to him, the other heroes, or even the commission. This upcoming revolution is something that’s being instigated by the villain’s side with their own resources, apparently right underneath the hero’s noses, and ideally, they wouldn’t plan to give them any advance warning of their first attack before it happens. The villains are going to strike first and they will be the ones that push the big red buttons that launches the nukes at everybody unless the heroes can identify where the launch sites are first and pre-emptively attack to disable them before catastrophe strikes the whole country.
Aizawa’s a softie underneath, but he’s also logical as hell when it comes to making efficient judgements, and he can tell that this isn’t something the commission would be doing if they had any other choice in the matter- mobilising children for a war effort would be a PR nightmare, something the commission is decidedly wary about every since All Might’s retirement and the growing unease in heroes since, so outright revealing this fact to everybody would only cause them unnecessary chaos, meaning the fact that they’re still going ahead with it regardless, even in a clandestine manner, means they don’t have any other option. And in the event that war does break out, having the kids prepared as best they can to handle such a crisis situation means the best chances of their survival, so whilst he’s opposed on principle, he can still recognise that it’s the best choice for the kids regardless.
7) “Alright, it’s not like Nezu can say no to this, but at the very least he’ll make sure they are in good hands. Those kids will need all the help they can get, that’s for sure.”- Let’s be honest, when shit inevitably goes down, it’ll be the kids pulling the adults’ assess out of the frying pan in the end- that’s just how these situations have been winding up ever since Izuku joined 1A. He intervened to get Bakugou out of the danger Zone at Kamino, and it was Izuku’s efforts that ultimately stopped Overhaul, even with Aizawa helping out as best he could.
8) “Alright, okay, so the resolution for this is… there isn’t a traitor?
Yeah, I don’t buy it, there is a traitor. “- Drama rule 101 Re: Chekhow’s gunman. If a person or a position is mentioned, it will inevitably come into the narrative at a later date. As a reliquary, if a person is suspected to be amongst a group of individuals, even if they’re outright stated not to be, it’s almost a guarantee that they are, and it’s merely the narrative trying to obscure this fact until the dramatic reveal. By claiming that there most defiantly isn’t a traitor, Nezu just confirmed that in fact, there is, and these prior attacks weren’t achieved from some other method, and that somebody is a Janus figure within 1A. On the other hand, we’re still no closer to identifying this individual with the second-hand info we’ve got already about them, so it’s a mystery that’s hanging in the background for now...
9) “Oh they are still too busy with their honeymoon, so busy in fact that All Might even forgot that he had to buy his son a gift. Goddammit All Might, you’re lucky you are looking like a cartoon skeleton otherwise I would kick your ass.”-All Might is so overworked his Art Shit abilities are starting to pull him into a Loony Toons state of being.
10) “AND OH LORD SO MUCH GOING ON- URARAKA READY TO JUMP ON THE TABLE, TSUYU LOOKING HIGH AS FUCK, BAKUGO GOING “FUCK THIS NOISE” AND STRAIGHT-UP LEAVING WHILE THE TRAITOR AND MINA APPARENTLY ARE READY TO GET HIM IN THE SPIRIT OF CHRISTMAS WHETHER HE WANTS TO OR NOT… OH BOY, THIS GONNA BE A FUN ONE…”- Bakugou’s auditions to play the Grinch in the school play were overlooked by his classmates, who were determined that his heart would grow three sizes today, not during opening night.
11) “I don’t know who’s saying that, but I feel in my heart that it’s Kaminari, and honestly dude, y’all are classmates with the protagonist, what the hell did you expected to be like?”- In fairness, none of 1A actually know Izuku’s the protagonist of their story- in fact, there’s a lot of examples to show so far that everybody’s the hero of their own story here- but with the sheer chaos and unexpected events that seems to follow him around like an excitable puppy everywhere he goes, you’d figure somebody other than Bakugou would have started to put the dots together. Heck, not even Bakugou’s had as many unexpected run-ins with villains as Izuku has- the closest he’s gotten was that brief bout with Fizzy pop alongside Shoto.
12) “Alright, so Grav-girl and Bojji are gonna join forces and return to the Scaly agency, that’s two people we know are in good hands, now we only need to know where the other’s gonna be at.”- I know Hagakure’s bobble is supposed to be invisible to go with the rest of the class’s themed hats, but I can’t help wondering if they attached an invisible object from the support class to it, or just left nothing at all because that’d be too much effort.
Tumblr media
12) “Oh okay, that’s way better honestly. I was worried that they didn’t want him there, but it’s not that, it’s just that they can’t spare time to welcome him back.”- Nighteye genuinely accepted Izuku at the end of his life as a worthy hero, and his final operation ultimately only succeeded because of Izuku’s efforts, so it makes sense they’d be grateful to the guy that ensured the operation that cost Nighteye his life wasn’t all for nothing in the ned- in fact, given his change of perspective about the futility of changing the future at the end there, they might be even more happy to have Izuku because he stopped Nighteye from seeing everything so negatively in the last moments of his life. Unfortunately, with the human processing machine passed on, there’s no free space to take on an intern until they by a huge-ass machine to handle the inflow, or a new room full of clerks to get some breathing room.
