New chapter new rant it's become somewhat of a thing at this point 😭

So hori's out here deflating any stakes or tension as always. I personally hated what happend last chapter with Izuku losing both his arms but I did wish for hori to continue on the path he chose instead of completely reversing it with some bs in this chapter. Heck I don't understand how Eri even had enough energy to heal his arms considering it was stated chapters before that she couldn't and shouldn't help Izuku it wasn't her fight and neither should she be forced to watch what's going on but here we are.

Heroes are hypocrites when it comes to Eri and she deserves better. Oh Eri the ever so lasting plot device. As someone that likes Eri's character and wished for her trauma and what she went through to be explored this is just bs and shows that the heroes are incompetent hypocrites at their jobs for allowing Eri to mutilate herself (the same thing overhaul did to himself) so she can be useful to these people who she views as her saviours?!?!?! Let's not even tall about the fact that ECTOPLASM stated that he helped her with that and allowed her to do that like?!?!? You're an adult who is supposed to be supervising the child and you almost failed to stop her from running away into the battlefield but allowed her to do that to herself. Let's also talk about how aizawa horribly failed as a guardian like its clearly stated in the chapter that she did want she did because she was inspired by aizawa and how he cut his leg off so she mimicked him so she can be helpful?!?! Aizawa isn't angry, worried or disappointed but shocked and that's it nothing else he doesn't even reprimand her like seriously 😑.

Present mic and kurogiri deserves better. We still don't know where present mic is but he deserves better than this I still hate how his feelings aren't acknowledged in this bs and he is just there pushed to the side as support. Kurogiri is a mix at this point they seem to realise that oh oboro is dead he ain't coming back but kurogiri is acting on memories that haven't died and to be honest Iam sick of hori drawing the same memory panel over and over we should just get new content show us them play fighting or doing something that friends do idk 🤷‍♀️

Wasted potential aizawa at this point. I lasted made a post about aizawas wasted potential but dam does it really show and basically at this point hori reduced all the characters involved in the kurogiri situation to just that and it's sad like we could of had more and we should of. Aizawa was doomed from the start as he was hori's mouthpiece which sucks

Iam not a fan of everyone coming in to fight AFO. I already hate the fact that AFO is back but having everyone who hasn't had a big moment or can still fight yet come into the fight is horrible. Iam ok with having a few characters come in but having some endgame avengers type of thing is horrible especially because class 1A and izuku aren't shown to have a strong bond a lot of the time it's one of the reasons why the vigilante arc fails and why a lot of other moments concerning class 1A and izuku fail.

Iam a fan of the civilians trying to help however they can but no inko?!?!!?!!. I loved that we got the page of civilians genuinely wanting to help Izuku and offering their shirts to stop the bleeding also even though we don't get much from the all might guy I genuinely loved the development he has gone through. Sadly, I was expecting to see inko in this chapter and considering we had a whole page dedicated to the civilians it's sad that we didn't get any update on inko as she was probably there watching what happend to her son

Eri's dream. I loved that Eri's dream is something way outside of heroics and it's something that doesn't involve her quirk at all. It makes me remember of izuku holding her hand and telling her that he supports her dream. I wonder if Eri and jirou hang out often or anything considering that jirou is Eri's inspiration or if present mic also inspired Eri. it's sad that Eri's character is never truly explored considering what happend to her this chapter and the double standards that are with both heroes and villains.

I will FOREVER be salty about how Hori paints his characters with valid criticisms against the status quo as in the wrong:

Monoma - hates Bakugou, therefore hates 1A by association and is painted out to be some over the top arrogant asshole who freaks out every time they so much as breath (Monoma's not my favorite, but he's 100% right when it comes to Bakugou).

Rock Lock - doesn't want the first years (maybe also the third years, idk?) involved in the Shie Hassaikai raid due to how dangerous it is and due to having recently had a newborn son, is painted as someone who's being overprotective and unfair to these heroes in training.

Inko - isn't comfortable with Izuku continuing at UA after the Forest Camp Attack, is painted as being overprotective (I have my issues with Inko, but she had an incredibly valid point here).

The media - rightfully criticizes UA's utter inability to protect their students and reign in Bakugou's behavior (the hill I will die on), is painted as trying to unfairly persecute UA/Aizawa.

Present Mic - uses common sense to deduce that there's a traitor in UA's midst, is portrayed as being a shit stirrer who's quick to distrust his colleagues and students (another hill I'll die on).

Gran Torino (a minor one) - calls Aizawa's high expulsion rate as what it is: nasty (showing that even he has standards), is immediately corrected by Present Mic that the expulsions are "only on paper" and Aizawa truly cares deep down (which actually makes it WORSE since it stays on their permanent records regardless).

Other students taking the Provisional Exam - call out Bakugou for being an obnoxious asshole, are immediately painted as "not understanding how hard he works."

Pro Heroes and Present Mic - call out Bakugou for not taking Ochako seriously in the Sports Festival, are told to RETIRE for not understanding how Bakugou clearly works harder than anybody else to be a hero (but then Bakugou proceeds to get the second highest amount of internship offers, so idk what the fuck point Horikoshi was trying to make here).

Vlad King is a weird one because while his one-sided rivalry with Aizawa/1A is obnoxious and unprofessional, he IS a better teacher than Aizawa is and it's a point not focused on aside from an off hand comment by Aizawa. You'd think this would make him examine whether or not his beliefs are truly benefiting his students or have Nedzu call him up and say, "what's up with your class consistently underperforming against 1B?"

Best Jeanist is perhaps the ONLY Pro-Hero to see Bakugou's behavior for what it is and takes him as an intern to rectify it... but proceeds to focus on all the wrong things (his style being the main one) and not really get to the core of his goal.

Society as a whole doesn't trust heroes for a myriad of reasons (some unreasonably, some for extremely valid reasons) and are painted as being unfair and incredibly biased against heroes as a whole.

Izuku leaves UA due to AFO having Ragdoll's Quirk, is essentially ganged up on and beaten/shamed into submission by Class 1A who completely disregard his POV (I don't agree with him putting himself in this position, I'm just pointing how it makes sense narratively).

Like... how is your story supposed to be nuanced and your characters three-dimensional if you paint the complainer as always in the wrong?

Let's Talk About the Sports Festival

*Note: this is a long one so strap in*

Oh boy, here we go.

I did touch briefly on this in my first ever post on here and I mentioned it a few other times. But I've got a few thoughts and I think this arc deserves a little exploration as it plays a crucial part in setting up our characters for the rest of the series.

I have a love/hate relationship with the Sports Festival overall. I think it does well for some characters, not so well for others. I'd like to take some time to break down how some characters benefit and how others don't and really evaluate the arc as a whole.

Uraraka

I think Uraraka's a great place to start. Now, in my Bakugou analysis I did say that I was unhappy with the match, mostly because it panders to Bakugou to make him seem better than he was. And I stand by that, the narrative was trying to shove a "positive trait" of his down our throats since all we had seen from him up to this point was all negative. It was Horikoshi's first attempt at subverting expectations, I think.

However, I actually do think this fight was good for Uraraka as a character.

Uraraka isn't the fastest or strongest or smartest in 1A and previous to this that was fine because being those things wasn't her goal. She wanted to be a rescue hero and provide for her parents, she didn't set out to be particularly ambitious like Izuku or Todoroki or her other classmates. However, this proved to be somewhat of a hinderance to her succeeding as we see in the Cavalry battle. She pairs up with Izuku because she needs to rely on him if she wants to stand a chance of winning. And because of that, she feels like she can't fend for herself.

I think pairing her up against Bakugou was a good thing. Not because he treated her with "respect" or as a serious opponent (because he didn't), but because it pushed her to her limits and forced her to think outside of the box. She refuses Izuku's help because she knows she can't use him as a crutch going forward so she devises her own plan. And even though she loses, she still gets to shine and prove herself (we'll get back to this point with a certain character later). It also acts as a hallmark for her character, that she has to really push herself if she wants to be able to stand with (or even against) her stronger classmates.

Now, whether or not this setup pays off later is for another post, but I think Uraraka is one of the only characters this arc really does justice.

Izuku

If I'm being honest, the Sports Festival is far from the worst arc in the series for our beloved main character.

The race was great, of course. Because he can't depend on his quirk like everyone else, Izuku has to put all his critical thinking skills and strategic prowess to the test. The race is actually one of my favorite parts of the show because a kid from the bottom of his class (at the time) rises above everyone else and absolutely no one (including us) saw it coming. He has a major disadvantage and still comes out on top. It really ties in well with All Might's advice to stand in front of everyone and say, "I am here."

Now, the Cavalry Battle is a different story. To be fair, I don't think it really hurts or helps Izuku's character all that much. He has to think on his feet and strategize carefully, but he already did that in the race. His leaderships skills aren't really displayed all that much either (it's present, but Bakugou, Todoroki, and Monoma take much more of the limelight here). They could have taken more time to develop this role for him, but it's nothing really major to complain about.

The tournament is a little different. Obviously, Izuku couldn't win because if he had it wouldn't have been realistic. But his fight with Shinsou shouldn't have happened. The only reason they're matched up is for Izuku to break out of his hold with One For All. It doesn't do anything for his character (I might even say it hinders it because Ojirou specifically told him what to do and he ignored it) and really only serves as Shinsou's introduction, which could have been done with any character.

(Bakugou should have gone up against Shinsou. It would have humbled him; he would have lost to an "extra," one of the very people he talked down to. It would have also taught him that having a strong quirk or a weak quirk isn't what makes a hero and that power isn't everything)

However, the Todoroki fight does do Izuku's character justice. Because Izuku has always put helping others over winning or being the best. It's what makes him a true hero. He still makes Todoroki work for it and gives his all in the fight, but he does it with the genuine intention of helping. And that's what it means to be a hero. If the race was showing off his skill, then the tournament was showing off his heart. Those are the two sides to being a hero after all.

(If only the pro heroes had any semblance of sense to realize that)

So overall I am split on if this arc is good for Izuku or not. It does well with some things, poor with others. However, I do think that if Horikoshi had kept a similar approach with him throughout the story, it would have done him a lot more justice.

(At least more than whatever Dark Deku was supposed to be)

Iida

I don't have much to say on him other than that I think it would have been beneficial to showcase his skills a little more. He's supposed to be the second most intelligent in 1A and he got fourth on the quirk apprehension test. It would have been nice to show him off a little more like they did with Todoroki and Bakugou.

However, I do understand that his performance in the Sports Festival is meant to take a backseat to what's going on in his personal life. And for the most part that is done pretty well. The tension build up his actually really good and it sets him up to shine in the Stain arc.

I also appreciate his approach towards Izuku. He respects him and sees him as a friend, but also knows that Izuku is still an adversary. It's a unique approach to rivalry in anime and also sets up his role in the Stain arc well.

So it's not a terrible arc for Iida, but it could have been better for him too.

Bakugou

I know, I know I don't want to either but let's just get through this okay?

Obviously above I said what I said about how he should have fought Shinsou. And I stand by that. The Sports Festival was the best way he could have been humbled and taught humility. Having Bakugou fight Shinsou and lose could have aided his redemption in the long run.

Now, one thing that bothers me about the Sports Festival is that it seems like the narrative constantly goes out of its way to make him look better. Oh, Bakugou meets his match from a student with a copying quirk who rightfully calls him out and catches him off guard? Let's have him overcome the (truthful) assumptions and beat him and still qualify even though he was completely focused on the wrong things. Oh, the crowd thinks Bakugou is being overly harsh on someone who clearly isn't on his level? Let's have Aizawa vehemently defend him and tell everyone he's showing her respect when he obviously isn't (and even doubles down after the fact). Oh, Todoroki has just embraced a part of his quirk that's more than enough to beat Bakugou? Nah, let's have Todoroki throw even though he just had an epiphany about how his power was his and not his father's.

You see where I'm going with this? No matter what, this arc absolutely bends over backwards to portray Bakugou in a positive light. Where our other characters lose, struggle, and get put through the wringer, Bakugou is handed a win (literally and figuratively) multiple times. It's part of what pushed me from genuinely enjoying the Sports Festival to somewhat disliking it.

Bakugou is never allowed to struggle unless everyone around him is struggling too, most of the time worse than he is. This is a pattern that persists throughout the series. And it started in this arc.

Todoroki

You know how I said that Uraraka was one of the characters that this arc did justice? Well, Todoroki was the other one.

His set up in the Sports Festival is fantastic. Before this arc, we knew he was important. He was strong, aloof, and the only one who could intimidate Bakugou. The way they ease us into his character is very well done from his little mannerisms to revealing his backstory.

I know most of us agree that he should have beat Bakugou. However, him winning or losing the final match never really mattered. What mattered is that he made peace with his quirk and his trauma. And through Izuku he opens himself up which not only leads to him being a loyal friend, but also makes him a better hero in the long run. He is undoubtedly the character that develops the most.

(It's also through Todoroki that we get a bit of world building. Endeavor is the first example of a corrupt hero we see and we're introduced to the concept of quirk marriages)

Unfortunately, like Uraraka, this setup doesn't pay off that well later, but again that's a story for another day.

Yaoyorozu

An unfortunate flipside of Todoroki is that Yaoyorozu's character goes through the opposite.

A pattern with Yaoyorozu is that Horikoshi seems to fluctuate between wanting to treat her as a serious character and going out of his way to screw her over. In the race, she's a victim of Mineta's perversions (there's also the cheerleading bit, but that happened to all the 1A girls so it doesn't pertain to just her; it's still shitty though). She's barely present in the Cavalry Battle, only serving as a support prop for Todoroki's team.

And then the tournament is the final nail in the coffin. Yaoyorozu before this was shown to be calm, collected, and intelligent. She also- by the Quirk Apprehension Test results- has the most control and prowess over her quirk in 1A. So it's odd that she lost to Tokoyami so easily.

Not to say that she necessarily should have won, but for her to not realize what Tokoyami was doing was out of character to say the least when she was shown to be very observant. And if Horikoshi was going to add this insecurity aspect to her character in the Sports Festival, she should have gotten more attention beforehand. At least then it would have made a bit of sense. But to give her this vaguely hinted emotional moment out of nowhere was... weird. She has barely any screen time and no growth or development to lead us into this point. And she barely gets any after this moment. There's almost no payoff or point to this.

(*cough* maybe focus less on Bakugou and give other characters a chance to shine *cough*)

Yaoyorozu might have been the character screwed over the most in this arc.

Shinsou

Wasted potential. Like I said before, having him take down Bakugou would have really hammered in how dangerous his quirk can be. It shows him as an actual threat. Having him get ringed out by Izuku in the first round doesn't do anything for anyone's character. It makes his entire introduction lackluster.

Final Thoughts

So yeah, those are my thoughts on the Sports Festival. Good for some characters, not so much for others. I always like to read fics where it gets rewritten because so much could have changed for the better. What do you guys think? Did I miss anything?

It feels like a gag chapter mostly

Bakugou coughing blood on the rooftop, spooking All Might is recall to the Ch 1 All Might - Deku rooftop scene

I was sure Edgeshot won't die, so not surprised by Worm-Edgeshot there. But man, Hori really cheapened his sacrifice. This poor m%therfucker doesn't even save Bakugou, because apparently his sweatdrop does the work, so he just jumped in there and panick-sewed him without a plan while ShigAFO was hacking away the rest of the team. Some No 4 hero that is. Give Mirio the spot. At least he can twerk usefully.

It generally makes me feel queasy how All Might's and Bakugou's lives are worth every sacrifice, while others like Edgeshot are just expandable extras apparently. Not that I care about Edgeshot, but just as the framing of the story - it is sickening. Very realistic too. All Might losing his power is agonizing, but Edgeshot losing his entire body and turning into a worm is apparently only deserves a "thanks, senpai."

Again with the reactions. Ngl, having Can't-you-see-kid wonder about Bakugou's name when he didn't wonder about Shouto's kind of sucks. That dude belongs to the Todoroki storyline mostly, but well, I guess, nobody cares about Shouto in-universe other than the 3 Magesaki kids

There goes my Kaminari restarts Bakugou's heart theory. I'm so sad that apparently Kaminari and Monoma had no role. Where are they even? It would have felt like a better emotional pay-off to me - especially if Kaminari saw Bakugou's body. My boy deserves a moment too... 😭

Mineta getting his own panel vs Mt Lady, Machia and Shinsou sharing one. No comment. In retrospect, Hori should have given Mineta the "Origin chapter" because Shouto obviously has no role in the main plot.

I was waiting so much for Bakugou's hero name reveal to All Might, but I guess it was off-screened. At least the punch line is AM saying Bakugou's hero name correctly and Bakugou smiling like a kid is cute (that's my favourite moment).

I hope fucking AFO didn't revert into a kindergartener, because, fuck, I really don't want to watch Bakugou slap around a kid.

MHA chapter 416 (rambles)

Ok so this was like mainly a conclusion chapter for many characters and I guess I like that we are getting clarity on what's going on with some of the characters.

This chapter definitely gives me some very mixed feelings I feel like it's one of the best chapters horikoshi has produced in a long time if we exclude whatever is going on with Izuku and shigaraki.

There are still some things I definitely do dislike in this chapter which are:

The overall dismissal of izuku in general by other characters. Like no offense but I feel like we should of seen more people being worried for izuku instead of dismissing their worry and being like oh Iam not putting my faith in him or something because what do you mean you're not worrying for a 16 year old who has to fight an insane psychopath killer?!?? I still hate how momo dismissed this like wasn't 1A's whole objective when it came to getting Izuku back in the vigilante arc was because they were worried and scared for him?!?!? What happend now it makes no sense?!?!? Also i still hate momos atrocious hero costume

Ochako and Toga's character conclusions?!?! Like excuse me what's going on where is toga how is she not in the picture at all if the whole point was that she sacrificed herself for ochako and layed their dying next to her now she is nowhere to be?!?! People just accept it and are like oh well she has been defeated no need to worry but you do realise that she can probably cause damage if she wanted to right?!?? Also Ausi deserves better because what's going on with her she was so out of place and somewhat irrelevant when it came to this arc like seriously hori did her dirty. Also who is next to ochako in that plane ?!?! Am I speaking to early and that could be toga or someone else

Monoma deserved better. Oh did monoma deserve more screentime to shine and actually do more instead he got injured and knocked out offscreen which is such a shame. I really wanted to see more of him

Lady nagant's take on izuku?!?? No offense but Iam sick and tired of characters having some wild takes of izuku. One minute it's oh he sees the good in everyone and he is a saint to the next which is oh he is a puppet who follows instructions to a letter and does more than he should. I still don't like kudo and his views whenever it concerns midoriya it seriously infuriates me. However, now that kudo is gone guess it's lady nagant's turn to take some of the role because hey is she saying that his pain is a good thing and that izuku has a morally grey view of villains which I cannot lie hasn't been proven at all. Don't get me wrong I love that idea but I think like everything in MHA it just has a horrible execution and I can't bring myself to like it. Lady nagant deserves better characterisation then this

This chapter was a 50/50 when it came to the character if Eri. I absolutely adored her interaction with Kota and I find them absolutely adorable also at least ectoplasm is doing something and didn't let the girl run into the battlefield which is good enough (bare minimum). However, it still feels all icky that the heroes used her or well tried to utilise her anyway even if it's with good intentions or whatever the fact that they tried to make her heal aizawa but she lacked energy so she couldn't or whatever. Her lacking energy also feels like somewhat of a horribly introduced plot point because wasn't the whole problem she had when she came to UA was that she had a lot of her quirk built up and shouldn't the power in her horn be enough rewind aizawa into a week back in time like ?!?!! She couldn't be lacking that much energy it makes absolutely no sense to me. Also dam it's sad that Eri is out here being the only one worrying for izuku. They deserve better

Hawks and tokoyami. They deserve their win section I love them and their dynamic just wish the series could of given us more when it came to them seriously the wasted potential the wasted dynamic and tensions get me

The ending of the chapter?!?! Why is izuku in his uniform what happend?!?! I still don't get how they're merging into one person or one entity with different and same memories. Also why is this all about shigaraki like they're sharing memories so why aren't we seeing Izuku's memories this feels iffy to me. The dfo truthers have risen but tbh I don't see how this can benefit izuku in anyway and why does izuku have to watch the shimura family murder. Also if izuku is in his uniform does that mean he has become part of the memory did they do some space jumbo thing where they time travel and now they're changing fate and reality or some shenanigans like that?!??? The kotaro and tenko parallel hit tho that was good but other than that this whole Izuku's Nd shigaraki fight falls flat it's really such a disappointment and disaster to me.

I LOVE THE CONTRAST BETWEEN THESE TWO IZUKU'S. I also adore his relationship with eri I wish we got more of them!!!

I've officially decided I'm expelling most of 1A, so Shinsou's challenge to 1A is very different to canon. Izuku has very quickly become a hated figure by the expelled hero students, but since All Might put the fear of god into them, they don't name him.

Basically, Shinsou quickly finds out most of 1A was expelled for almost letting a classmate with a villainous quirk die, upon which he has a lot of complicated emotions very quickly, ranging from 'oh god that could have been me' to 'i can't believe they were punished for that' and 'someone like me made it'.

A lot of students in one 1B aren't happy with the unnamed student ab how so many 1A students got expelled, but Monoma isn't actually one of them - he's received a lot of shit for his quirk too, a lot of people called him a thief and a villain, that 1A student basically has the scarier version of his quirk. They are the only motherfucker in 1A he respects.

The remaining 1A students are: Uraraka, Iida, Todoroki, Katsuki, Izuku, Aoyama, Ojiro, Tokoyami, Momo, Shouji, Ashido. They either weren't present when the rest of the class abandoned Izuku, or they were actively prevented from helping by other students. Izuku is scared they'll all hate him, but the reverse happens and they all squad up around him. A lot of the students remaining also faced discrimination for villainous or scary looking quirks. Ashido in particular is super upset with Kirishima. The more violent (Uraraka, Katsuki and funnily enough, Iida) are looking forward to the sports festival so they can beat the ever loving shit out of their terrible former classmates.

Shinsou joins the class after the sports festival, none of the former 1A students are allowed to rejoin. A lot apply to other heroics schools.

The fastest way to get insulted (or killed). 

He was locking hands with you while you and your friend caught up. He was fiddling with your fingers as he paid attention to your nails while all the sudden, the dumbass started talking about how great they were, even greater than you; of course, he saw how you tensed up; noticing your body language and the guy speaking louder. 

He seriously was ready to blast them to hell, whether or not he was gonna be charged with 1st degree murder and manslaughter.

Doesn't matter if they're friends with you, he'd raise his voice and defend you. Would never, ever let someone disrespect you, especially in front of the Dynamight himself. 

Would threaten them to leave before he burned their ass to the ground. 

— “Are you fucking serious? Go run your mouth to someone who actually cares, dickhead. Fuck off!” 

Pretty defensive towards you, doesn't matter if he finds the subject ‘boring’; you're having a fun time and that's all he cares about. 

Most likely, due to his persona and fame; he would take you away as quickly as possible, after he insulted them (aka, destroyed their ego). 

Would try to distract you once you two leave. Either that’s going to the park, arcade, or a fancy restaurant; you deserve it. After that, he would spoil you more further at home, cuddling while whispering in your ear that 'they'll eat shit.'

Izuku Midoriya / Deku

Would whip his head back to you both so hard that both of you heard it crack. 

Him and you were both out and about when then a fan came up to him, trying to talk to Izuku while completely ignoring you, saying some nasty things along the lines of ‘he needs to do better’ and that 'you can have me instead of them.'

Was ready to use All For One to make sure the bitch was in a lot of pain. His blood was boiling; the only thing keepin him at bay was your presence. 

He would immediately give her the death stare, while a few veins in his face and neck popping out; causing them to stop talking and awkwardly stand in silence for a few seconds.

He would break the conversation and make fun of them; make sure they feel small, he’s beyond enraged. 

— “Excuse me? Go bother someone else if you're gonna say rude things like that, I mean really. You're such a dickhead.”

Doesn’t understand how someone could be rude in front of him, let alone to you? You're his angel. 

He would then drag you somewhere else that’s less crowded, saying along the lines that ‘that kind of negative energy doesn’t belong around an angel like you.’ 

He hates when you feel weak or upset over a dumbass like her. In that case, he would comfort you with food, sweets, and cuddles; it physically hurts him to see you upset. 

The best person to bring up the conversation you two were having beforehand, he would love for you to continue going on with the conversation you had, even if he doesn't understand it.

He might have some deathly plans in his head going through the rest of the day. So…  R.I.P for the person. 

Ejiro Kirishima / Red Riot

The biggest confused look ever. 

Though, the most patient and calm-like person out of the two.

As you and your friend were hanging out (with him along beside you), he was waiting patiently for you to get done talking so he could take you somewhere special; while all of the sudden, they interrupted and said nasty things towards you.

He would raise his eyebrows as his eyes were twitching and his head cocked to the side, almost saying the words: “The fuck did you just say??” 

— “*Scoff* You really think you're so funny, don't you? Really, you just embarrassed yourself.”

He would be thinking the best ways he could embarrass them possible, either spill something on their clothes or trip them as soon as they leave. 

Wouldn't yell like Katsuki but he would start using clever words to hurt their ego and pride. 

He would love to beat the person but doesn’t want to waste anymore time with the worthless soul. He would lead you along somewhere else to distract you. 

He would buy you takeout once you two get home; watching a comfort movie of yours and cuddling on the bed. Gosh, if he could. He would love to bash their head on the ground but that can wait another time.

~If I am being honest your dad didn't want you to date anyone that was in his class nor Aizawa's class.

~He didn't think that any of them were good enough for you, but here you were! Dating one of his STUDENTS!!

~"Y/n please no not him, he is a problem child" Your dad says

~"But dad he is so nice! and I love him!!!" You say giving your best puppy dog eyes.

~Him allowing it because you are his little girl and he would do anything for you! But only because he loves his little girl so so much!!

~You were in the hero class which was 1-A and your Boyfriend was in 1-B.

~Him not even seeing the family resemblance when you would come into Vlad's class room.

~You are such a daddies girl so you would come and just sit in your dads office when ever you could.

~Lunch time, early in the morning, after school. Well you get it!

~Monoma would miss every clue you gave him, like 'Oh I am going to sit with my dad for lunch' and 'I have to give my dad some papers but I will meet you later' *Kiss on the cheek*

~He would let this go on for a while before finally asking you.

~ "Y/n what are you talking about? Does your dad work here?"

~ You getting upset and hitting him on the back of his head.

~"BAKA! HAVE YOU NOT BEEN LISTENING" *Sighs and walks off*

~Him looking at you shocked. Before rubbing his head. 'His cockiness must be getting to his head.

~ I think he was the only one who didn't know about Vlad being your dad.

~The next day Aizawa tells you to let your dad know that both classes would be trainings together that day, so your class could learn how to deal with other quirks that people may have.

~You walk into class 1-B and walk straight up to your dad.

"What is it y/n" Vlad says with his usual annoyed face, He hated when you interrupted his class.

"Mr. Aizawa said that our classes need to train together today and he wants you to be outside in 10 minutes." You say looking for your boyfriend before spotting him at his desk and waving while jumping up and down like a crazy person.

"HEY BABE!!"

"HEY!"

You yell throughout the class causing Monoma to look away from you.

'She is such an embarrassing idiot but I love her' He thought

"Y/n go back to class, we will be out soon, you are causing a disruption" Your dad says

"But dadddd I was hoping to stay till you leave for outsideee" you say bringing out the puppy eyes again.

"No y/n good bye I will see you later, and by later I mean in 5 minutes" He says back not giving in to you pushing you out of the door.

Monoma's jaw dropped. 'His sensei was your-'

'DAD' He thought.

No wonder you always had to leave to go see your dad, he was right there the whole time.

"Sensei? Y/n is your daughter!!" He blurts out causing everyone to look at him with a

'How did you not know, you were dating her!!' face.

"Yes unfortunately" He replies back.

The whole time he kept thinking on how you didn't tell him.

Outside you both got paired up together.

"Why didn't you tell me, he was your dad!!" He immediately asks

"Well I gave you hints and do you not see the resemblance Baka, I look just like him" You say

Only now did he realize the silver hair and red eyes.

"Oh, well you could have said 'Oh and your teacher is my dad! That would have been way easier to understand!" He says back dogging your punch.

"Neito I thought you were better than that! Well I guess you are not that smart though!"

"HEY!"

Shep would probably be Sero or Tokoyami, not sure which yet. Shoto was chosen for the amethyst role to match with Dabis role as well because of Amethysts trauma around her very existence. Also because I think it's only fair that Shoto gets to be a lazy mess for once-

I chose the Mr. Smiley role solely because they have the same name and its funny as hell, but it ended up fitting pretty well too.

I chose allmight for the pink/white role partially because the thought of afo controlling allmight wormed its way into my mind and I basically went 'thats kinda fucked up...I love it-'

Gentle & La Brava were to chosen to be the pair that make Rhodonite because of the cut SU episode about their backstory of getting rejuvenated and falling in love all over again like 16 times. It just screamed Gentle & La Brava to me.

Fatgum was chosen for Bismuth because once the justice-fueled rage subsides, she's very lively & encouraging and I thought that fit Fatgum well enough.

I specified the fanon version of afo because canon afo is so incredibly horrible and fucked up that he doesn't a deserve a redemption story, so I chose the less monstrous version of him the fandom created instead.
