From a layout perspective, do all Strongholds look the same? So like, certain buildings would always be on the left when you go in, certain buildings on the right? Or are they unique?

they're all unique! though they are all made up of the same facilities, so all strongholds have a quartermaster, barracks/living quarters, kitchens, a bath house, an armory, a “war room”, a stable, a garden/farm, as well as “classrooms” and a library.

the Black Iron and the Wall in Gael are the two oldest strongholds, and the Black Iron shows it, while the Wall is a bit more well-kept.

i imagine the Black Iron to be all dark stone and wood, crumbling in a few places. it's built into the mountains, surrounded by pine trees and cliffs, and is actually hidden pretty well. the drawing i did of Lea would have been them and the hunter in the courtyard where they have a space set up for sparring and combat practice.

the Black Iron is relatively small, and the interior is pretty bleak, it's a very… practical stronghold. the barracks are pretty homey though, with everyone personalizing their rooms and the leisure spaces. there's a lot of foliage and trees growing around and within the stronghold, too, as i said it's well hidden and it definitely looks more like a ruin than a functioning fort, which they like it that way.

the Wall on the other hand is a very obvious stronghold, it's built into some really high cliffs and hangs out over the sea. the best i can compare it to is the greyjoys' Pyke from game of thrones (i would put a picture here but tumblr isn't letting me)

the Wall is massive compared to the Black Iron, and functions as the "headquarters" for the Gaelish chapter of the Order. it's on the other side of the mountains that divide northern Adrania and southern Gael, and is a pretty iconic landmark. if the hunter had stayed in Gael, they would have ended up at the Wall. Merry also lived close to the Wall for some time, and this is where Rafe and Harper are from.

Whaler's Watch is similar to the Black Iron, though instead of being nestled away in the mountains it's nestled into some beach-side cliffs. it's characterized by a few massive towers that rise over the cliffs and look out over the sea. unlike Gael, the Adranian chapter of the Order doesn't really have a "headquarters" due to being pretty cut off from each other, but Commander Hadrien spends most of her time between Whaler's Watch and the Black Iron, while the southern stronghold is on its own.

the Flood is much more like a fort than the other two, and is set on some pretty high cliffs. it's built up a good distance from any of the southern cities, and the flooding actually acts like a moat, around the bottom of the cliffs, just to really emphasize their separation from everyone else. i envision the Flood being much more closed off compared to the other two, big walls of stone and heavy doors so no one can peek inside.

Perimeters In The Mind

“For as he thinks in his heart, so is he…” Proverbs 23:7NKJV

Probably, for my entire adulthood, I’ve taken this verse out of context. Its meaning goes further than simply being stingy over a meal. What makes a person stingy in the first place? Why did this person put on a show?

We have brains where we think, rationalize, store info, run all our body systems, etc. There’s a core area of the brain, the Bible calls the “heart.” This “heart” is the area which decides morals, habits, relationships, belief systems, stinginess, pridefulness learned experiences hold sway, core beliefs spiritual and unspiritual control how we think, plan, act and believe. I believe this is the most spirit-connected part of our body to life.

Abuse, both physical, and sexual happened to my body— but these experiences controlled a large portion of my daily life and reactions to people. Reactions because I didn’t plan out possible actions regarding different situations, simply reacted to everything.

Add to the mix, my dad was thrown from a car over 300 feet, landing on his hip. The ER doctor was a quack while bone chips severed Dad’s sciatic nerve as a result. Without a hip and ability to walk normally left Dad an invalid, the family extremely poor, and a belief system that God rarely healed, only those ‘good’ enough were so blessed. Mom was strict, Law oriented in the Old Testament being healed several times of tumors. Meaning in my mind, she was ‘good’ enough because she followed God’s Law. These experiences put perimeters in the mind, my mind.

When television began bringing out programming showing blatant homosexual couples, I flipped the channel. Soon it came to the place where the ‘smut’ filled every airway. Why? Entertainment had been enlisted to reformulate and climatize minds to the normalcy of the abnormal. After a few years, it worked. Laws have been changed. Legalizing what God has forbidden. Abortion was worked into the mix, making it the best way to take care of inconvenient burdens.

Now the ‘smut’ entertainment industry is publicizing how difficult it is to ‘be a mother-parent.’ They’ve developed the idea, ‘women have to drink wine or alcohol to cope.’ What a sin against the children! Those precious cuddly little bundles of love and acceptance can’t help themselves; it’s what you ate when you nursed them to give them gas; or the formula you gave which doesn’t sit well with their tiny systems. Why isn’t pure love coming from the mother’s “heart” for her child? Is this learned behavior modeled by entertainment? The ability to turn the child over to the government to raise without conscious disagreements comes when you’ve learned to not enjoy the God-given love between mother and child.

One of the biggest favors we can do for ourselves as believers is: “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.” Proverbs 4:23NIV. We must guard the eyes and ears gates to our minds. Lou and I have cut our television programming back to include Christian networks and satellites, the Chosen, internet weather, Christian news sources and a few internet programs which are safe— uncontaminated. This has started LATE in our lives.

Why have we gone to such extreme measures? Because we have to reformulate our minds. Both of us need healed. If we don’t have enough faith, it’s the fault of what we’ve stored in our minds, strongholds, 2Corinthians 10:3-5KJV V4“(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)”. What is corrupting your “heart?” Can you become radical and tear down those “strongholds” in your minds? If you aren’t walking in the miracle working power of God, the fault isn’t God’s but ours. It’s your choice. You choose.

LET’S PRAY: Father God please help us to open our “hearts” to Your cleansing power and rid us of the corruption, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

The Shadow Tower hard by the mountains were the Wall ended.

And Castle Black between them, at the end of the kingsroad.

Breaking Strongholds | Chains | Bondage

We tend to dismiss the power and understanding of Strongholds. Before we get started lets first define what a Stronghold is, 

One version of the definition reads, a place dominated by a particular group or marked by a particular characteristic. 

Read that once more to absorb the meaning. Have you ever been trying to stop a sinful act from taking place and somehow, someway you ended up committing that sin? Repenting and attempting to cleanse self and then you ponder, I knew better. So, then you try to move better but then a few days later that same sinful activity is back on your mind and you feel the desires and pressures to "YOLO" and commit it again? Resisting the urge and the seduction of. These are strongholds. Demonic strongholds at that. These are the connections that needs to be rebuked and addressed because they will not go way by just ignoring them alone. They will come back stronger and stronger. As we draw nearer to God, the enemy [the devil] is taking note and then his minions come running after you. Tempting you with every desire of lust to bait you. You may feel that you had kicked the habit but someway somehow its back on your mind and you say "Well I haven't done it in a while , what is one more time" That one more time can cost you a lot. These strongholds of the demonic variety exist and should not be taken lightly.

Anyone or anything pulling you away from God should be addressed, rebuked and monitored. 

Ephesian 6:12 reads 

For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.

Who? What? When? Where? Is calling you back to the areas of bondage that your attempting to free yourselves from? Why wouldn't it let you go after you declared that you never wanted to partake? The enemy doesn’t care about your progression and your spiritual connection with the one and true God. He wants you in a constant state of confusion , defiling your temple and in darkness. 

Whether you like it or not , believe it or don’t and can see it or not! Evil presences exist and are here attacking us daily. By Gods grace, his angels and guidance we find refuge. Its about time you give yourself more credit. Am I worthy of God's Love and Protection? Why would he protect me I am a sinner? The question I have for you is Why Not YOU!? 

If you meant nothing, then the enemy wouldn’t be waging a War for your soul, tempting you. Hoping that you fall that one time to reintroduce you to that life. Its time to break those chains and demonic strongholds on your life. No better time then now. 

I have been in a dark place and wrestling with my self-worth as to why God would choose a vessel like me to carry out his message. Feeling to far gone down the rabbit hole to be used. He silenced the noise and the doubt and said to me "Why not you? I had my hand on your whole entire life, I will never leave or forsake you" We are born into this sinful life and our flesh desires sinful activity but that does not mean we are slave to it. We can become slaves to the flesh but that takes a partnership and a willful submission from self to completely indulge. We need to take that power back and replace it with God. Turn from your sinful ways and submit to God. 

Remember the feeling you felt when you completed any known sinful behavior that you are trying to change. How low you feel? vowing to never do it again. Not following your own convictions. It didn't even satisfy your urge or craving but you thought it would. The thought was better than actually performing the act. The enemy loves to trick and deceive its victims. What a coward! When you have a clear visual that the enemy is not operating for your good then I don’t want anything that comes with it. 

Roman 13:14 reads 

But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts.

Is it going to be easy? No! it is going to be difficult but it will be worth it! 

Exodus 14:14 my favorite scripture reads "Be still and I will fight for you"

In these moments of high lust and I am feeling the present attack of the enemy. I am very still and I pray to God for that deliverance because these emotions and desires did not come from God. Once ignored the feeling of overcoming sin is Glorious and then the battle continues. 

What strongholds are you currently battling ? Do you ever find yourself succumbing to the pressure? 

When are you making that change and ending the cycle of feeding this habit. The more you continue to feed it, it will grow and then soon consume you. Resist the urge. 

During my revelation and talk with God, I realized I had a Sacred Encounter

Lets bring in this New Year with God as our Foundation.
