Has anyone else realized that subzero on WEBTOON is basically or kinda is zutara. AHHHHhhhHHhHhh!!!!!!! I was like about to past out and sleep and then this thought came in mind and I fangirled so hard. I mean the main girl in subzero, clove lives in a country that is covered in snow and her powers of the dragon is ice and water. Her colors are blue and she’s a princess(like Katara, but she’s not a princess she’s the daughter of the chief of her village), then the main guy prince Kyro his colors are red and his dragon powers are fire and his eyes are a goldish color. No he does not have a scar but he does have a tragic backstory (same as Clove and katara) and scars in his heart. And if they have a child it would be a purple dragon( not true but the fandom mixed the couples color together and we like to call their future child that 😅) and it would have been the same for zutara if Katara didn’t end up with Aang😤☹️ and if she did end up with Zuko she would have to live with him in his palace just like Clove has to!(Kyro and Clove had an arranged marriage to stop the war between both countries) Maybe the author was not trying to, but I just think of the ship as Zutara now. They have many similarities and so far a pretty good relationship and ending, so I’ll dream that this is what could have been for zutara. Let me know if anyone else agrees with me. (Sorry for any misspelling and if I got any facts wrong, it’s been a bit since I read subzero) I definitely recommend reading Subzero on WEBTOONS 🤌🏼🤌🏼🤌🏼 chefs kiss 🫠🫠🫠

Miraculous Ladybug vs Agent Ali/Ejen Ali Comparison post : Introduction

So in my previous post about this mention about “Three Malaysian Superhero Cartoon have better handle than ML”. For anyone wonder what Cartoon I mean is “BoBoiBoy” “Ejen Ali (Agent Ali)” and “Mechamato”. All of this show have same demographic with Miraculous, a Kids Show with Action who also beloved by older viewer.

While the three shows also have their specific flaws, they still have its consistency and better handle than Miraculous. The show creator and writers know what is the main core about the show. Its about Kids being Superhero and Secret Agents. Despite this, they still allow to bring some serious heavy issue or drama to make the show interesting instead of a fanservice. They do have some “soft reboot” to expand their world building and stuff but it never become messy like Miraculous.

Miraculous constantly has retcon and it become utterly MESS because The Writer feel viewer are idiots and only care about the ships. This is make The Writer and That Guy has zero idea what the show is about ! Its about a shojo-esque cartoon ? Its about silly teenage-romance ? Girls Power ? Family Drama ? They DON’T KNOW about that ! I would like to said this show is about a wild fantasy of grown-man about his “ideal virtual daughter” who obsessed with freaking white boy and that its !

Since I already see many of post who compare Miraculous with other show about the consistency and the handle, here I will make the same post with one of Malaysian Cartoon and I will choose this cartoon :

For comparison post, I think Miraculous is deserve to be compared with Ejen Ali. Gotta admit this is my favorite show to the point my current Tumblr name “jennycinco-5″ is based from one of the villain of this show. I like to said that Ali is a “what if Adrien and Marinette become ONE CHARACTER but with good characterization and handle”. I said that because Ali share same parental neglect issue with Adrien after the death of their mother and he also have some Marinette personality. But the show handle him mooore better than Marinette and Adrien. Making Ali become lot more interesting as the story progress

Love, Murder, Basketball - By Kurutta x Tsun (9.5/10)

Why didn't anybody tell me about this? Why isn't anybody talking about this? It's the perfect guilt free yandere mess. It's gory. It's possessive and it's consensual. Also one of the main characters is a Robin Hood style murderer that only kills rapists and bad guys. Pull your brain out of your head and have fun if you want to read this.

Tanaka Shoto, or Sho Sho, is the son of a Yakuza boss. Both of his parents are dysfunctional weirdos who only love him when they feel like it. His mother is nice to him until she starts drinking. His dad broke his arm after he broke a plate, but he still claims to love his eldest son. Shoto did not grow up tough. He didn't even become a Yakuza. His past is hazy. I assume the author is going to elaborate later. Shoto was his father's punching bag before a young boy named Goro came into his life.

Goro is more powerful than his Yakuza father. Goro is filthy rich. His mother is a model and his father is a basketball player who became a politician after his fruitful career ended. He's the stereotypical cruel, aloof kid. He only cares about becoming a famous basketball player, like his dad. His perfect parents are very controlling, and they expect him to be flawless. He becomes exactly what they want. When Goro grows up be becomes a machine. He even dates women he isn't interested in to get more business and money for his parents. He doesn't seem to hate them, but he does want some freedom.

He also wants this man in particular. Goro and Sho Sho weren't that close in elementary school, but Goro noticed him. Shoto had a little crush on him too. Goro swoops in and offers to save him in exchange for his obedience. Sho Sho willingly gives his life to Goro, because he doesn't want to be beaten anymore. He's kind of an odd guy, who grew up in an intensely abusive environment. He likes stuffed animals and Goro likes to dress him in cute clothes. The first few chapters of this webtoon look non consensual and abusive, but then there's a twist.

Later on the author explains the BDSM contract Sho Sho signed. Goro is his master and he has to call him that all the time etc. etc but their relationship is extremely beneficial for Shoto. In the beginning Shoto was malnourished and nervous. Goro feeds him and gives him an excessive allowance. He also does everything he can to boost Shoto's low self esteem. Shoto streams games in schoolgirl skirts for fun when his master isn't around. He enjoys pain and humiliation, and Goro loves to give it to him. Goro is also remarkably good at aftercare, which makes the BDSM scenes more worthwhile. After four years pass Shoto's hair is longer, he looks healthier and he's got alot of peircings.

Goro picked them out and put them in himself. Goro the famous basketball heir is also a serial killer (surprise!) but Sho Sho is his soft soft. His big, embarrassing daddy Dom soft spot. I despise age play usually, but it's done right in this scenario. Goro doesn't really infantalize his partner. He makes his Sub needy and dependant, but that's it. You'll understand why I brought up age play if you read this. Shoto is extremely spoiled and sheltered. Extremely. He's scared of walking down stairs. His father barely let him outside while he was being abused, and Goro is about one hundred times more possessive.

Shoto also has frequent panic attacks. He has trouble sleeping alone, but Goro seems to thrive on his dependency. Shoto has zero life skills. He does attract abusive men like a magnet though. Why? Well Shoto used Goro to run away from home, but his father didn't give up. His messed up Yakuza daddy wants his son back. He keeps sending lunatics to intimidate his son. He has enough power to threaten Goro, and Shoto definitely isn't capable of defending himself. That's the main conflict of the story. Goro has to protect him from his awful family, while he carefully avoids his own family.

Sidenote: One of Goro's nicknames for Shoto is Bunny. Goro is a fairly tough Dom, but he's very insanely in love with Shoto. He just can't be with Shoto 24/7 because of his parents and his basketball career.

Here's a quick summary of their relationship. This is all Shoto does, like all day. The man never leaves the apartment Goro bought him unless Goro is there. Goro is keeping Shoto secretly, because his parents would not approve. Both sets of parents are uniquely fucked up. When Shoto's Yakuza family finds the apartment Goro moves quick. The Yakaza characters are not pushovers in this.

This is Shoto's younger brother. He doesn't respect his weak punching bag brother because he's a very gay Sub. Boom. Good side villain introduction. Shoto never tried to join the family business so naturally most of his family resents him...except his dad who wants him back.

Is there going to be incest in this? I hope not. I'll be really happy if Shoto and his dad just have a really unhealthy relationship, which works. That's all their relationship needs to be. Shoto's family is really intimidating, and even though Goro is strong he's alone. The conflict is actually tense.

Goro is a serial killer but he's human, so he'll actually have to use his brain to keep Shoto to himself.

I really like that.

Your work is fantastic, but please be careful about copyright. I’m not exactly sure if RS/Webtoon could take down your Rekindled work on the basis of copyright, but there’s no doubt in my mind that she would try if it was possible.

Id recommend making it different enough from LO to ensure nothing like that would happen in the future. That’s all, have a good day :D

Thank you for the concern, this is definitely something that has lowkey weighed on my mind but I ultimately know they can't really do anything about it unless I were to either 1.) start claiming LO as my own (which is already laid out in the master post as a disclaimer that this is a fan project and thus falls under fair use/fanfiction, with proper credits to Rachel Smythe) or 2.) tried profiting off it as its own individual entity (meaning, I obviously can't sell Rekindled or put it behind paywalls, but I'm not even inclined to do that anyways as this is just a side project for me lol)

If, hypothetically, Rekindled did get DMCA'd in any way over this, it would set the precedent that all non-profit fanworks, modifications and/or remakes are off limits, including panel edits, panel redraws, character redesigns, LO-stylized works, etc. and ... that's definitely not a beast Webtoons should be willing to poke LOL (because ultimately, you can't copyright an art style and Rachel is still using characters that are not her own, the only concept that 'belongs' to her are her designs around those characters but that's why I have that disclaimer to remind people that this is a fan project and shouldn't be confused for the 'real thing').

It's like when WT copyright struck Pyrrhic and Victoria's videos. WT could keep them from uploading for a few weeks so the platform could be given an opportunity to press it further, but they couldn't take any legitimate legal action because there's nothing illegal about reviewing or criticizing content that's free to access on a phone app. So all it really did was fuck with P&V's algorithm visibility and posting schedule.

The best I try to do to protect my own butt is keep it purely on Tumblr (meaning I'm not gonna mirror it to any official webcomic platforms, ESPECIALLY not Webtoons) and not sell or crowdfund anything related to or affiliated with Rekindled. Running a general Patreon or Ko-Fi or Twitch subs would probably be fine (for the same reason it's 'fine' for sakimi-chan to run a Patreon for her fanart content) but I don't wanna give Webtoons a reason to go ham on my ass LOL (and I already utilize those platforms for my main projects anyways so I don't want to be doubling up, it's too much work on top of what I'm already having to manage).

So yeah, here's hoping I don't get my ass slapped, but I really doubt that'll happen. I make it pretty clear in the disclaimers, art and writing that this isn't LO and it's not my intention to try and take credit for Rachel's work (mean take: not like I'd really WANT to take credit when it's so awful nowadays, blech) so as long as I don't try to sell it, there's zero reason for WT/RS to try anything and it would just make them look like bigger assholes. Which neither of them need right now (￣y▽,￣)╭

OH BOY, so "sclasses" is my tag for "The S-Classes That I Raised" (AKA "My S-Ranks" and "My S-Class Hunters"). It's a KRN webnovel with a manhwa adaption.

You can find the novel being currently translated by SFS Translations and the manhwa being officially translated on Webtoon. There's also a fan translation being done by Asurascans that is much farther ahead of the official manhwa TL.

For an introductory premise/summary:

Dungeons. Monsters. Awakened. A game-like System to package it all in. It seems straightforward enough, but a more troubling truth lies beneath the surface. With his younger brother's blood still staining his clothes, Han Yoojin obtains a means to turn back time. He siezes the opportunity, hoping to get a fresh start. Live a cleaner, less chaotic life. Unfortunately, his choice does quite the opposite, and he becomes the centerpiece of the chaos to come. Slowly but surely, the packaging is ripped away.

Things like my personal pitch, my love for Yoo Myeongwoo, and my novel vs manhwa recommendations are below the cut.

For my personal pitch, honestly...just being able to peek into Yoojin's thoughts is so worth it. He is the funniest motherfucker unlimited. No contest. The writing balances this quite well, too. I like to approach sclasses with the mindset that its most major sub-genre is "comedy", but it still knows when to take itself seriously.

Also, the approach the series takes with the tropes of dungeons, systems, and regression is refreshingly different from other series. It manages to give explanations that don't detract from the fantasy, but rather add to the growing horror. The pacing is great, with stakes being raised and revealed at just the right times. As for characters, literally everyone is interesting. Everyone. They're all batshit in different ways and have ZERO shame about it. I love to study them under the microscope in my brain. Most of them are also very compelling (even the ones you hate).

AND. MOST IMPORTANTLY. YOO MYEONGWOO EXISTS. LOOK AT HIM. MI POBRECITO MIAU MIAU. MY BABYGIRL.

P.S. - To answer your last question, I recommend the novel first, but the manhwa doesn't fall far behind.

I've already talked a bit about what parts of the writing I like above. The novel itself goes into a bit more depth, and has more gradual and fluid connections between events. It also shows WAY more of Yoojin's inner ranting and raving, which - as I've said - is genuinely such a huge part of the S-Classes expereince for me.

That being said, the manhwa is really good. Firstly, the art is amazing. I can't say it clears my bar for diversity (but no manhwa has done that so far so...y'know), but it's so much less stiff and more vibrant than a lot of studio work I've seen churned out lately so kudos there for sure. I also think that it manages to nail the impact of a few scenes even better than the novel does, and so far the edits to the pacing are well done to fit the more limited room of a comic medium without skipping important info and while still conveying the intended progression for the plot and characters. Which, maybe all these seem like basic things, but is something SO many adaptions drop the ball on.

this is brand new info as I am reading webtoon after the novel. the human who saved nirvana so in next life it reincarnated as a human was yjh? when??? if orv kdj roughtly follows the same scenarios yjh went through in twsa (3rd regression path? using info from all regressions?) when did he got into the scenario to create nirvana if kdj has info on him when he is already nirvana. In 0? ??? *

also in some regressions, 41 f.e. how long joonghyuk even lives with his companions in between scenarios if yoosung is already a young woman. just how different are the scenarios in different regressions? Or their length solely depends on the amount of probability conjured into the scenario? For example if in one regression yjh calls for powerful constellations, the probability calls for a more horrible disasters and the pacing goes quicker, but what if yjh just chills and barely uses his powers to avoid probability? then the scenario can last years, right?? So then he couldve had more sub scenarios and go into different worlds I suppose, and there he couldve met snake nirvana? And snake nirvana was either a disaster to that world or a high grade monster? Uh?

* if its 0, then It means kdj doing his OD thing told him to save the snake so it can be reborn as nirvana so kdj has someone to chill inside the library with eater of dreams and 4th wall.

* if it's not 0 I cant imagine yjh not killing a monster.

Also? In previous regressions of yjh does it mean nirvana had a different reincarnation body?? and had different encounters with him? But how can it be if yjh is a regressor and by regressing he goes back in time where he creates different universe but the starting setting is the same, so how can nirvana be different. Logically if nirvana was created after 0, it should remember only 0. and zero wasnt a regressor yet. Ha. Brainfuck. So that means nirvana should be made after 0 turn when yjh is already a regressor. Why would yjh spare a monster. And how will he then encounter salvation church that dokja reads about in twsa

Idk but this webtoon slide ruined my last understanding of the novel because I thought it was just a random human who saved a snake in another dimension and then nirvana was born as a human in one of the worlds with scenarios and became an incarnation then a returnee and died quite a bit but always recovered memories of the previous lives and at one point created salvation church and that's how it met yjh. How it knows yjh idk in headcanon he met him not as a nirvana before but as a returnee in some dimension. Maybe in murim or elsewhere. And then he like idk went back in time as a returnee who looks like this nirvana of salvation church and he was the same in every regression of yjh.
