imogen fumbling shit is just eternally good fodder for memes, alright. and its at least partly BECAUSE of how powerful she is. someone tripping while using a nerf gun? funny. someone dramatically hoisting up an outfit matchin heavy death laser gun and then immediately tripping and landing on their face? phenom. sometimes she goes "GROVEL" and the enemies grovel and we all go "oooooh" and "aaaahhh" and sometimes she just gets fully ignored and gets so huffy and petulant and ineffectually burns a cantrip just to be petty about it. sometimes she smites her enemies into dust with one move and renders a tree in half after threatening and other times she fucking. falls down a flight of stairs and accidentally sets everything on fire. fires a gun at her own team. loses all her hair. turns blue. etc.

Imogen lifts a humongous sand squid into the sky with her mind powers. The idea that many people have about socialist ownership is often, basically, 'everyone is a small business owner'. The phrase 'workers should own the fruits of their labour' is fine, if referring to the working class owning those products and using them, as a class, to their benefit - but more often than not, it's meant that individual workers should own what they produce.

This idea is especially prevalent among the middle classes, and those who fantasize about joining them - what they want is to own capital, to be their own boss, to make profit through their ownership. They present this, profiting from their ownership, as 'compensating workers' - and argue that anyone that wants to do away with that ownership is stealing from workers, forcing them to labour without pay. But, that's the thing - those making their money from selling the fruits of their labour already are labouring without pay. They don't make their money through waged labour, they make it through profitable ownership - which is to say, capital. The system they describe, of small, collective ownership of the means of production, is not one that involves the working class - it is a system of the middle classes.

The proletariat, rather, publicly own the fruits of workers' labour. Does the scientist, who creates a new medicine, need to be compensated through ownership of patents or copyrights whenever that medicine is produced in a factory? No! They are paid for their labour, and that is that. The medicine belongs to the people. It is absurd to claim that 'using their intellectual property without their consent' is somehow a strike against a worker, as if the worker should expect to make profit through ownership, rather than be simply compensated for their labour directly. No, the expectation of profitable ownership comes only from the middle class, and those who fantasize about joining them.

Marx said: "You are horrified at our intending to do away with private property. But in your existing society, private property is already done away with for nine-tenths of the population [...] In one word, you reproach us with intending to do away with your property. Precisely so; that is just what we intend. [...]

By “individual” you mean no other person than the bourgeois, than the middle-class owner of property. This person must, indeed, be swept out of the way, and made impossible."

I realized I made some notes on how different characters fight in mob psycho, and I never posted them. here you guys go, for any reference needs

Mob: mostly simple attacks, not very showy, just waves his hand and uses telekinesis/exorcizes something, doesn’t move around much. As ???%, much more destructive, psychic force seems to just emanate off of him and destroy everything

Teru: VERY mobile, throws himself around with telekinesis, puts his whole body into the attacks and tends to use moves from normal fights (punches, slaps, kicks, etc). Utilizes a variety of psychic techniques with flexibility, very creative. Piss stance, necktie sword. Much more flashy than Mob

Ritsu: uses powers to throw people/things around. While Mob and Teru attack with just psychic blasts, Ritsu tends to use his powers to grab other things as an attack (grabbing the delinquents and throwing them against each other, throwing the Claw guards against the wall, picking up cars to sandwich Shimazaki between them). Uses his environment creatively (fire extinguisher smoke screen against Shimazaki). More flashy than Mob, but not as mobile as Teru. Hand gestures for Drama

Shou: sneaky + speed + bomb!! Tries to be as evasive as possible using invisibility/speed (probably telekinetically enhanced?) to hit from behind, using either telekinetic force (his stomp in his introduction, the shockwave hit on ???%) or his charge bomb attack. Potentially uses speed/evasive moves as defense instead of the barriers we see most everyone else use

Serizawa: likes to channel his powers into an object (umbrella, business cards). Uses that object as a shield, sword, or something to blast psychic powers out of. Not very mobile in season two, moves around much more in the yokai fight. Not particularly flashy, but looks cool regardless

Reigen: deception/surprise!!! Either tricks people into thinking he’s going to do something else and then attacking, or just outright taking them by surprise and attacking before they know what’s going on. Usually doesn’t have a follow-up move, just does the one attack and hopes for the best. Prefers to bluff his way through a situation

#mp100 #I like what these details say about each of the characters #mob doesn't like making a show of things but is very powerful so he doesn't really need to get wild with it #teru I think was very influenced by how the other delinquents fight #because a lot of his moves tend to be punches/kicks/slaps that are psychically enhanced #I guess to fit into how other gang members fought #ritsu is still learning how to use his powers so he really only knows telekinesis at this point #but he's very creative with how he uses that telekinesis and he takes full advantage of his environment #putting that clever brain of his to use!!#shou kind of breaks my heart because he never uses barriers and I worry that he doesn't know how to #because that might have been seen as cowardly #or maybe not an option at all since he was surrounded by espers strong enough to break most barriers #so instead he tries to be fast and sneaky to get the upper hand #I wonder if serizawa doesn't feel as comfortable using his raw power and prefers to channel it into an object? hmm #and then reigen is the king of bluffing and hoping it works out for him #and surprisingly enough it usually does

Finished a new character ref! Kanu is the 4th member of Kinoga's old squad (along with Trito and Agara). Dynamo roller main, sometimes doesn't realize his own strength. Loves to tinker, made the mechanical arm himself, works as a weapons repair mechanic just outside Splatsville. Went looking for the other three after Kamabo was dismantled and they didn't return.
