Okay okay I know you JUST wrote something for me but I also JUST got an idea! What about either Connor Stoll or Percy dating a daughter of Dionysus!? He doesn’t know initially but when he noticed them spending more time together he gets suspicious and then when he walks into her cabin without word one day and catches her kissing him he realizes that his precious daughter is dating the guy…which he’s not pleased about. So he threatens his daughter’s boyfriend and is all “if you so much as look at her the wrong way I WILL hunt you down and you’ll regret it for the rest of your life” but ultimately approves because he sees how happy that he makes the reader? And so he goes back to reader and tries to make the threat not seem as bad and they just have a cute little picnic or something together.
If you choose to ignore that’s fine cause you did JUST write something for me, but I think it might be interesting.
hi hi! and no worries about the amount of requests ill take em all! because i just wrote something with percy, i'll go with connor + i love the stoll brothers so...thank you for the request!
edit: i just realized i completely forgot the picnic part...im so sorry :(
Tumblr media
You sat on a bench on the porch of your cabin, bending grapevines and leaves amongst twigs to fold it into a crown. Connor, amused, sat at your feet, chin hooked on top of your knee.
"Just wait," you murmured, tongue poking out from your lips as you tie the twigs with a few stray pieces of string, "it looks better when it's on your head."
Connor hummed, raising an eyebrow. You've pricked your fingers about five times, and it'd been an hour of you carefully crafting the crown, but he'd stayed there at your feet for every second of it.
"Aha!" you grinned and leaned down to place it in his curls. Immediately, his dark curls seemed to swallow it up. He winces, as pulls on one curl that had been tugged on uncomfortably when it was placed in his head.
You'd been right, it did look better on his head. The leaves stood out in his dark hair, and the wood of the twigs was a lighter shade than his hair.
You smiled, cradling his cheeks in your hands. "See? Perfect."
He giggled, "me or the crown?"
"Both."
You leaned in to kiss him, when your name was sharply called.
"Y/N!" Your head shot up to find your father, Dionysus, making his way towards you. Connor's eyebrows furrowed, showing his distaste at the intrusion, but stood up and shuffled away a bit. Not even he would dare face your father.
"Papa," you greeted, standing up. He glanced at Connor, but looked over it and waved you forward. Nervously, you hopped down the steps to greet him. Even if he was your dad, and you were around him frequently, he was still a god and could very much turn you into a shellfish if he pleased.
"Yes?" You asked, hands folded behind your back. Your father rubbed his temple, can of coca-cola in hand.
"I need you to overlook the new campers in the archery range. I would ask somebody else, but they all made up excuses and I don't have the energy to do it," he looked genuinely sympathetic for you, knowing very well how much of a pain some new campers could be. It wasn't new to you, for him to treat you so kindly, but Connor made a noise of surprise in the back of his throat.
"Yes, papa. I'll be there in a moment, let me grab my bow," you ran back into the cabin, and exited just in time to hear your dad dismiss your boyfriend.
You gave Connor a brief wave, which he grinned and returned, but stopped and ran when your father stared at him.
"God, I hate Hermes' kids," he said before taking a sip of his drink.
You chuckled weakly, shouldering your bow. "Yeah..."
He walked off, and you blew out a puff of air.
Guess telling you dad about the status of you and Connor's relationship was once again put off.
--
Dionysus knew there was a problem with his eldest child, he just couldn't figure out what.
Castor and Pollux were easy, both boys barely into their teenage years. You were a different story. You showed a whole new set of emotions and talents that Dionysus couldn't figure out. It's why he and your mother hadn't worked out very long (other than the fact he was already married). You and your mother were very similar, but you were both very stubborn.
You obeyed, most of the time, but there were certain things you just refused to bend to. It was what had intrigued him of your mother, but now, while he was attempting to raise you well, it was a struggle.
But even then, you'd become more closed off. You used to greet him daily, whether it was a wave or coming up to say, "good morning!" you always gave him some sort of hello. And sometimes, you'd even join him to play card games, which is more than what he could say for your brothers.
Now though? Each morning when you walked by the big house you were talking to either Connor or Travis, sometimes even both, and it'd been weeks since you bothered to come play games, or even hang around with him.
He didn't want to say he missed you, because it didn't bother him that much. But he was a literal manifestation of entertainment and got bored rather quickly. He loved his boys, but he'd always had a closer bond with you than them. You were a form of entertainment to him, but you were also his daughter and such a shift in behavior concerned him.
Hate to say it out loud or not, he loved you dearly. You were his only little girl.
And it wasn't just the fact you'd stopped talking to him, it was the fact you stopped talking to your brothers too. Castor had approached him on the verge of tears because he'd thought he'd done something to offend you. But, when he payed more attention, he found it was because you'd taken to following the Stoll brothers around.
But teenagers did that right? Leave their annoying little siblings in order to hang out with friends? Gods, he's watched too many romance movies with you.
The number of times he's stared at a TV screen and seen the whiny little sibling snitch on the older sibling after they'd snuck out to talk with their partner should be a crime.
His thoughts flit back to Castor, sniffling in front of him because his older sister was off with Connor Stoll somewhere.
You, with Connor Stoll, somewhere.
Oh, my gods.
He stood up abruptly, just narrowly avoiding knocking over the table as he stormed down the steps of the big house. You had some major explaining to do.
It was easy to see why'd you been dating someone. He cherished you for a reason, so it isn't hard to see why someone else wouldn't. But you were still his daughter.
Connor Stoll? Really? He didn't want you dating any of these brats but there were certainly better options than Connor Stoll. Like that one Apollo boy, but Dionysus is pretty sure he's gay.
He approaches the cabin quickly, and he watches the camper's part to let him walk through. It's easy to anger a god, but it's not easy to soothe that anger.
Dionysus swings the door open and pauses. He doesn't know why he was so shocked, but he supposes it was just the confirmation that stopped him.
There were only three beds in the rather large cabin, so he found yours with ease. There was you, lip locked, with Connor Stoll. He felt his veins light with rage as the two of you jumped apart.
Connor's hand was still on your thigh, and yours on his arm.
"Hands off," he grumbled, swatting at his arm. Connor pulled back as if he'd slapped him.
"Papa!" you cried, jumping up. He didn't touch you, but he held out his arm and you understood. Quietly, you took a step back, staring at the floorboards.
He turned back to Connor, staring at him with wide brown eyes. He raised a finger to jab in his chest.
"Listen, Stoll, because I'm not going to repeat myself," he leaned back, gesturing to the space between you and him. Connor nodded shakily.
"Yes, Mr. D," he stuttered out, glancing over to you.
"Ah, ah, ah. No, eyes on me," Connor's eyes flit to him.
"If you even look at her again, I will make sure you and your future kids regret it for the rest of your small mortal lives. Understood?"
"Yes," he repeated, struggling to make eye contact.
"Good," Dionysus said and then he points to the door, "now get out."
Connor does, only after pausing at the door. He doesn't look back though, and Dionysus turns to you.
He sighs when he sees your tears, and you sniffle softly. "Y/N," he calls gently, raising his hand to wipe at your tears. You turn your head, and his hand brushes your shoulder instead.
You wouldn't dare say anything, so that meant it was all up to him.
"You know I'm doing this for you. Connor...he's just, not the right fit--"
"I loved him though!" you shouted, hiding your face in your hands, "he made me really happy, Papa, and you ruined it!" You sobbed, loud and noisy, and it reminded him of when you were young and wailed over things such as scraped knees.
"You're still young," he tries to reason, "there will be others!"
"Not like Connor," you say, "and besides, I doubt you'd approve of them either."
He pauses at that, hand hovering midair. He never knew what to do to please you anymore. You'd moved away, grown more distant, since your childhood. You'd grown up. He hadn't changed, you had.
Maybe he had to change with you.
His hand grabbed your wrists and pulled them from your face. Then, he wiped at the tears on your cheeks and pulled you close. You fought at first, but melted into the touch once he rested his hand on the small of your back.
"I just want you safe, you know that, right?" he whispered, like it was a secret.
Slowly, you nodded.
"I mean it, Y/N. I love you, and your brothers a lot."
Still, you weren't satisfied.
"And," he said, taking in a deep breath, "if Connor makes you happy then...you can pursue him further."
You jumped back, a grin on your face. "Really?" you asked, a small hint of doubt in your tone.
He sighed, "yes, really."
You threw your arms around him. "Oh, thank you, thank you, thank you!"
Dionysus ran a hand through his hair. "Mhm, yeah, whatever.
You pull back again, your wide grin softening into a shy smile.
"Papa, I can handle myself. I mean it. Thank you."
Finally, a smile makes its way onto his features too.
"Yeah, you're welcome."

Theseus series #10 (The Abduction of Young Helen) Illustrated by me
With Theseus’ strength and greatness having spread throughout Greece, Pirithous, demigod king of the Lapiths, tests Theseus by stealing a herd of his cattle. But when Theseus rides him down, Pirithous courageously turns to meet him, and the two, respecting the others beauty and bravery, unite in friendship. Later, Theseus attends Pirithous’ wedding with his wife, Hippodamia, where the centaurs become drunk, and the violent battle of the Centauromachy takes place.
Another episode has Theseus and Pirithous both vowing to wed Daughters of Zeus. First, they journey to Sparta, abducting the child Demi-god Helen, as she danced in the Spartan Temple of Artemis Orthia. Narrowly escaping the Spartan warriors in pursuit, Theseus later gives Helen to his mother for safekeeping until she comes of age.
According to Homer, Pirithous was born from Zeus (in the form of a stallion), mating with Dia. While others place Pirithous as the son of King Ixion. Pirithous and Hippodamia give birth to a son, Polypoetes, who, having been one of the suitors of Helen, later became a famous hero of the trojan war. He led forty ships, and was even one of the warriors to hide in the trojan horse. Helen and her siblings have a bizarre and fascinating origin story. Helen’s mother was Leda, a beautiful Spartan queen. Zeus, lusting for her, transformed into a swan and flew into her embrace escaping an eagle, and the pair coupled. Leda also slept with her mortal husband, King Tyndareus, and later, born from two eggs were Helen and Clytmnestra (wife of Agamemnon of Sparta) and twin boys; Castor and Pollux.
Sparta was a military centric city state famed for its army, and freedoms for its women, and was constantly at war with Athens. The Temple of Artemis Orthia was religious site for Spartan boys and girls. Orthia was originally a local goddess of fertility, nature, and vegetation. Later this goddess was combined with Artemis to create the dual goddess “Artemis Orthia.” Ancient scholars mention a rite-of-passage ceremony where young spartan boys were flogged with whips as they attempted to steal cheese from the altar. Young girls had their initiations as well, with chorus dances and fertility rites. Many votive gifts of masks and figurines were offered and placed in the temple.

CATCH CASTOR DECIDING THAT CHARIN IS THE PERFECT CANDIDATE TO TEACH POLLUX HOW TO RIZZ PPL UP... EITHOUT POLLUX' AGREEMEMT EHFHJSDB JUST COUSINS BEHAVIOR
Tumblr media
“So…” Charin mumbled after the small banter the Castor and Pollux shared. “How am I supposed to help…?” He asked with a nervous grin, clearly not understanding why Castor dragged Pollux all the way from Ignihyde to his dorm.
Castor groaned as he rubs his temple “What do you mean ‘how am I supposed to help’ ?! You’re the rizzler of the school!!” Castor got out of his seat to face Charin “Please help my cousin, bro got so little rizz it’s embarrassing to witness—”
“I can still hear you, y’know!!” Pollux shouts, clearly upset but also a bit embarrassed.
Charin lets out a sigh as he rubs his nape “Listen, I don’t flirt. I’ve never been flirting—”
“LIES!!!!” The cousins shout in unison
Tumblr media
I imagined Castor just bringing Pollux to Charin for shits and giggles but then witnessed how little rizz his cousin has💀 like it started as a joke but then bro got exasperated—
Charin, the unintentional flirt😔 any advice he’d give on rizzing people up is probably: “Just be nice to em’.” And he’ll just shrug

"Mockingjay", Chapter 8
Part 1: The Ashes
Chapter 8: Boggs carries Katniss back to the hovercraft. She vomits on him. Katniss wakes up in her mother's hospital area. Mrs. Everdeen was not told that Katniss was going anywhere. They want to roll her hospital bed directly into Command but she wants to walk (our girl never wants to look weak) and they compromise on a wheelchair. She learns the names of her "insect" cameramen, Castor and Pollux. Pollux is an Avox. She worries the Mockingjay Agreement will be voided--and that Peeta might be hurt--because she didn't follow Boggs' orders, but no one has ratted her out to Coin. Coin "reruns" the first propo which has been aired in all the Districts already. Everyone is pleased, except Fulvia and Haymitch. But Cressida expertly placates Fulvia. So Gale wheels Katniss back to the hospital and she wakes up with an irritated Haymitch at her bedside. He resents (and probably was frightened by) her removing her earpiece. He threatens her with a "head shackle" or implanting a chip in her ear, also he ate her lunch. In the hospital, Finnick and Katniss watch a second propo air together. They are surprised to see another interview with Peeta aired after. Finnick helps Katniss by coming up with a lie that they did not see the interview. No one tells Katniss aboutg it.
I want to take off my vest, since I got a fair amount of vomit on it as well, but it's too cold to think about it. I lie on the floor with my head in Gale's lap. The last thing Iremember is Boggs spreading a couple of burlap sacks over me.
I'm going to point out all the Dad-ly things Boggs does as evidence of my theory that he helps Katniss with her trauma about her own dad's death (and also not having anyone look after her, just her looking after Prim and her mom at a young age). The fact that she vomits on him and he "sighs" is my favorite dad thing. Like she's an infant who just spit up.
They more than do their work, they take pride in it. Like Cinna.
I have a strange thought that if we were in the arena together, Iwould pick them as allies...
There's a theme of art and artists being the heart of the resistance in these books. Obviously Cinna and many of the Stylists were rebels, as was Tigris. Here we see that Cressida and her team also has that same Cinna-vibe. So filmmaking can be an artform, but the Hunger Games is not. Anyway, keep this in mind for the "76th" Hunger Games.
Coin and Gale are in the midst of some exchange that seems positively chummy. When Gale slides into the seat next to my wheelchair, I say, "Making new friends?" His eyes flicker to the president and back. "Well, one of us has to be accessible." He touches my temple gently. "How do you feel?"
His trust of Coin is going to get him into trouble. I want to yell at him to stop talking to her!
At least Finnick doesn't applaud or act all happy when it's done. He just says, "People should know that happened. And now they do."
I am glad Katniss has Finnick here. He gets it and a way others don't.
Peeta's physical transformation shocks me. The healthy, clear-eyed boy I saw a few days ago has lost at least fifteen pounds and developed a nervous tremor in his hands. They've still got him groomed. But underneath the paint that cannot cover the bags under his eyes, and the fine clothes that cannot conceal the pain he feels when he moves, is a person badly damaged.
Katniss realizes the first interview was taped earlier, and that Peeta has been tortured. How long, approximately, was he being tortured for, do we know?
In a minute, people will be here to do damagecontrol on Peeta's condition and the words that came out of his mouth. I will need to repudiate them. But the truth is, I don't trust the rebels or Plutarch or Coin. I'm not confident that they tell me the truth. I won't be able to conceal this. Footsteps are approaching. Finnick grips me hard by the arms. "We didn't see it."
Again, Peeta manages to make decent points in his interview even though he is obviously being forced to say certain things. Finnick, who is now--in my opinion--almost functioning in the role Peeta would usually occupy, again understands implicitly and comes up with a convincing lie for her.

Would pay money for an extra book that just went into Camp Jupiter’s war games + Camp Half-Blood capture the flag.
Includes rules, notable games, common strategies, and general information about them.
Would anyone else want that? No idea. Would I want that so I don’t have to keep thinking about it because my list of posts I have lined up is getting longer and longer, yes.
Okay that’s it :3
*Ignore what I’ve said about Aphrodite cabin post, temple hill post, that castor, Pollux, and Dakota post I’m gonna make a post about the games.

Fate and Phantasms #278: The Dioscuri
Tumblr media
alright, let’s get the obvious jokes out of the way. “you were expecting Jojo, but it was me!” “muda muda muda”, something about “za warudo”... yeah, I think we’re good.
Now that that’s out of our system, here’s the build for the Dioscuri, Castor and Pollux. Don’t expect me to remember which one’s which, it barely matters anyway when they’re joined at the hip.
These two are Tempest Clerics for a little bit of backing from Zeus, as well as Hunter Rangers for extra fighting style and attacks. And of course they’re... Eldritch Knight Fighters? That must be a typo. I mean obviously they’re echo knights, right? Nnnnope, definitely Eldritch. We’ll get to the bottom of this in the build breakdown.
If you want to read that breakdown, it’s below the cut. Otherwise, check out their character sheet over here!
Next up: I’ve heard of “thick skinned”, but this is ridiculous!
Race, Background, and Piety
One of them’s a god, one of them’s human, together that balances out to a demigod, a.k.a. an Aasimar. A Protector Aasimar specifically to guide sailors on stormy seas. Or to fly around kicking ass, either or. You get Darkvision so you can see which way you’re going in a storm, Celestial Resistance to necrotic and Radiant damage which... isn’t how lightning works, last time I checked. On the plus side your Healing Hands gives you a little more tenacity by letting you heal your level in HP once a day, and you learn the Light cantrip to lead the way for others. Also when you hit level three your Radiant Soul will light up, letting you transform for a minute by spending a bonus action. You can deal extra radiant damage once a turn equal to your level, plus you gain a flying speed. Yes, I’m using the Volo’s version of Aasimar because it’s stronger, die mad about it WotC.Oh, you also get +2 Wisdom and +1 Strength.
“God” isn’t a background, but fortunately you had a day job on the Argo so Sailor is a pretty solid backup. That gives you Athletics and Perception proficiency.
I know we made Zeus Heliod in Europa’s build, but you’re more on his “zap the unworthy” side than she is so we’re picking up on Keranos’s Klironomia instead. You gain some when you solve puzzles, smite the foolish humans, plan for threats, and build temples in his name. You lose some when you make rash decisions or give into rage, subvert wise actions, or fail to prepare for a situation. If you gather up 3+ points of piety, you can add 1d6 Lightning damage to your weapon attack Intelligence modifier times a day. At 10+, you can re-roll a failed wisdom or intelligence save once a day (great to avoid getting lost). At 25+, you have advantage on initiative checks to move faster than most people. And finally at 50+, you can increase your Intelligence or Wisdom by 2, and for once either is a good pick.
Ability Scores
Number one is Strength, it’s almost like you’re as strong as two people. After that is Constitution, a big part of your fighting style is just never getting tired. I would’ve gone for the Deft Explorer feature specifically for that, but moving faster than light is high level stuff, who knew. Your Dexterity is also pretty solid, since tripping at light speed probably would kill you. You’re not particularly dumb or smart, so your Intelligence is just okay. Your Wisdom is once again torn in two directions. You see good, but you get goaded easily. Er, one of you does. Regardless, we need it for multiclassing so we can’t dump it too much. That spot’s reserved for Charisma. The whole “siscon” thing y’all got going on is creepy, and it’s not like you’re a huge fan of other people anyway.
Class Levels
Fighter 1: Starting off as a fighter gets you a little more HP as well as proficiency with Strength and Constitution saves to stay on the ship. Heracles is driving that thing, it’s a miracle nobody’s been flung off yet. You also get Intimidation for the avenger side and Survival for the wait-maybe-I-dont-want-to-kill-everyone-around-me side. You also get a Fighting Style, and the only way to defend yourself and kinda-sorta your sister is to pick up a Superior Technique, specifically Parry. Once per short rest you can spend your reaction upon taking a melee hit to reduce the damage by 1d6 plus your dexterity modifier. Defense requires armor, which you clearly don’t wear, and Mariner prevents you from using a shield, which is what I assume that floaty disc thing is supposed to be. You definitely have the strength for heavy armor though, I’d highly recommend using that instead in your home game. Also you can use a Second Wind as a bonus action to chill out with your sibling for a bit for some extra health.
Fighter 2: Second level fighters can use an Action Surge to take a second action on their turn once a short rest. I mean. There’s two of you. Just kinda makes sense, don’t it?
Fighter 3: Okay, here’s the part where I defend Eldritch Knight. Echo Knight’s great, I love it and all its flavor but it’s all about being in two spaces at once. The Dioscuri don’t do that. Castor’s so over-protective they’re never seen more than a few feet apart. Medb summoned expendable lovers to protect her. Bonny and Read had vastly different fighting styles. Castor and Pollux practically fight as a single unit, so they’d barely use any of the Echo Knight’s features. Plus there’s a late-game feature for Eldritch Knight that works really well for moving faster than light, and uses less setup than what echos could do. For right now though, they get Weapon Bonds. You can bond up to two weapons to you over a short rest, and while bonded you can’t be disarmed against your will, and you can summon them to your hands as a bonus action, one at a time. Technically a shield isn’t a weapon, but it’s cool so I’d allow it. Boom, now you can summon Pollux’s longsword and Castor’s shield...thing wherever you are. You can also cast Spells using your intelligence modifier. That’s not good though, so most of these are gonna be the kind that don’t care about it. Booming Blade uses your weapon attacks so that’s fine. And if you want to protect your sister use Mage Armor to make her AC 13 plus your dexterity modifier or Shield to add 5 to your AC for a round. We’ll also pick up Lightning Lure for some klironomia-free lightning, and Catapult to make shield-throwing a reasonable tactic. Just make sure to get it back again.
Fighter 4: Use your first Ability Score Improvement to round up your Dexterity for stronger parries and armor, and grab a point for Wisdom too so we can multiclass. You can also Absorb Elements to be even deadlier on a storm-slicked deck. How cool would it be to parry lightning and then hit someone with it next turn? Very, that’s how cool it would be.
Fighter 5: Fifth level fighters get an Extra Attack. Again, two of you. Two attacks. Makes sense.
Cleric 1: With our melee settled, it’s time to diversify. With the help of Zeus you become a Tempest cleric, getting a second set of Spells (check the PHB to figure out the slots you get from multiclassing) that you cast and prepare using your Wisdom. Pick up Guidance to help sailors find their way, Resistance to beef up your own saves, and Thamaturgy to let your godly side loose. You also get first level spells like Bless to help with long-term journeys, Guiding Bolt to empower your allies while smiting fools, and Inflict Wounds for an option for Pollux’s sword even if you can’t summon it.
Cleric 2: Second level clerics can Channel Divinity once a short rest, choosing one of two options. Turn Undead is the generic option, sending undead creatures running if they fail a wisdom save. The reason we’re here though is for Destructive Wrath, letting you max out the damage of any sort of lightning or thunder damage you deal. Right now your biggest options are Booming Blade, but once we get some save-dependent stuff this will help keep the damage up even if someone makes their save.
Ranger 1: One last stop before we head back to fighter, I swear. As a ranger, you get proficiency in Nature to tell when it’s gonna be stormy. You also have a Favored Enemy (Like humans) that you’ll have advantage on tracking and recalling information about. I don’t know why they gave a whole class hateboners, but w/e. We’re also finally picking up Natural Explorer for all sorts of travel bonuses while moving on the Coast. And hopefully the ocean too. This gives you expertise in all intelligence and wisdom skills while on the sea, you can ignore difficult terrain while sailing, you can’t get lost, you remain alert while performing other tasks, you can sail stealthily at a normal pace while alone (idk why that wouldn’t work with friends? maybe Herc’s just loud.), and you can fish twice as effectively. There’s also something about tracking, but... it’s water.
Ranger 2: Second level rangers get another Fighting Style, and Dueling will put a little power in Pollux’s arms giving her a +2 to damage done with one-handed weapons. Since her other hand is taken up by your shield, this works out so her longsword’s just as deadly as it would be in two hands. You also get another another spell list which also uses your wisdom. Been a while since we’ve had a spell list this convoluted, huh? Hunter’s Mark adds extra damage to attacks you do to a specific creature, and Longstrider makes you a little bit faster without concentration. We’ll get there, I promise.
Ranger 3: At third level you become a Hunter, turning everyone around you into Hunter’s Prey. Specifically we’re picking up the Horde Breaker option, so you can make an extra attack once per turn as long as you target a different creature than the one you just hit. To make that easier, you can cast Zephyr Strike to avoid opportunity attacks for up to a minute, and during that time you can give yourself advantage on your next attack, dealing extra damage on its hit and increasing your walking speed by 30′. It’s pretty hard to block light, and everyone you’re killing is about to figure that out first-hand! Also Primeval Awareness lets you spend a spell slot to find weird creatures nearby. I’m sure that’ll be useful on the Argo. Running into Scylla and Charybdis would suck.
Fighter 6: Finally back in fighter! For your next ASI pick up the War Caster feat so you can cast all those cool spells you just got without needing an empty hand. You also get advantage on concentration saves and you can use spells as opportunity attacks if they target one creature.
Fighter 7: Seventh level Eldritch Knights can cast War Magic, so if you spend your action casting a spell you can spend your bonus action making a weapon attack. Except not, since being a Horde Breaker lets you make an extra attack even on your bonus action. Synergy is the name of the game here. Also you can cast Gust of Wind. In order to guide sailors, they first have to be moving. It’ll also push creatures away from your beloved sister, and can disperse gases or vapors and small flames.
Fighter 8: Eighth level fighters get another ASI, and let’s bump up that Strength score for harder hits. And for those of you really sold on the Echo Knight thing we’ll also pick up Mirror Image for ya. Admittedly four Dioscuri is a bit too many, but every time one of the fakes gets hit they poof away so it’ll fix itself eventually.
Fighter 9: Ninth level fighters are Indomitable, so you can re-roll a failed save once a day. I’d save this for saves you’re good at, but preventing failed death saves is always a good idea.
Fighter 10: A tenth level eldritch knight can make Eldritch Strikes, giving creatures you hit disadvantage on their next save against your spells. You also pick up Mage Hand since you sadly only have two hands as one person and Shatter for a bit of thunder. The lightning is coming, promise.
Fighter 11: Eleventh level fighters get an Extra Attack, so now you have three per action, up to six with action surge, and up to seven if you can pull off a horde breaker. You also pick up some St. Elmo’s Fire with Continual Flame. You can technically make this come out of literally any object you touch, so setting a whole ship on fire would be a really neat effect.
Fighter 12: That odd wisdom score’s been bugging me, so use this ASI to round up your Wisdom thanks to the Resilient feat. Now you’re proficient in wisdom saves too as a freebie.
Fighter 13: Thirteenth level fighters get another use of Indomitable per day, but more importantly you get third level spells like Lightning Bolt! Upcast this with your fourth level spell slot and use Destructive Wrath, and you’ve got a guaranteed 60 Lightning damage at anyone who fails their dex save!
Fighter 14: Use your last ASI to bump up your Intelligence for more electrifying attacks and stronger spell saves for your lightning bolts. You also learn one last spell, Ashardalon’s Stride. You get 20′ more movement, don’t provoke opportunity attacks by moving, and moving within 5′ of a creature or object deals fire damage to it once a turn. It’s a shame we can’t just call it lightning damage, but lightning does set stuff on fire, so it kind of works!
Fighter 15: With our final level you can push yourselves past your limits and move faster than light with an Arcane Charge. Immediately before or after using your Action Surge you can teleport up to 30′ feet away.
Pros and Cons
Pros:
Thanks to your spells, speed, and flight, you have tons of options for slipping in and out of combat at will. Pick your fights wisely and you’ll always have the advantage.
You can also deal consistent damage with a nearly-capped attack modifier and a pretty consistent four attacks per turn. Toss in a hunter’s mark and you’ve got solid output on a single target, or you can use your Horde Breaker and Ashardalon’s Stride to deal damage over a large number of creatures each turn.
While you can’t rely on your spells with the limited amount you get, they give you just enough variety in a fight to keep yourself from having any one glaring weakness. Roast flying enemies with spells, or fight them up close with swordplay. Protect yourself from spells with Absorb Elements, then shield yourself from weapon attacks with a solid Parry.
Cons:
Multiclassing really hurt this build with the stat requirements, which gives us a couple weaknesses. None of your spells are that strong, and without putting on heavy armor your AC and HP aren’t quite high enough to fight on the front lines without relying heavily on your ability to bounce out of combat, which requires your spells or Action Surge, both of which are limited use abilities.
You also come packing low charisma and no proficiency in charisma skills, so don’t be surprised when people don’t warm up to you after you threaten to murder them over and over again, Castor.
Your various features don’t work perfectly together, giving you some mixed signals. Horde Breaker wants you to fling yourself headfirst into a mob of enemies, but again that makes it hard to escape without spending limited resources. It also doesn’t sync well with Hunter’s Mark (ironically). And despite Natural Explorer boosting your intelligence and wisdom skills we’re not really a skill build to capitalize on that. Shocker, the variety build doesn’t have much focus.

Dior began helping tutor the twins in their academics. Idril was was a quick study that ate up new facts and knowledge with vigor. Tuor was quite the opposite and would rather be doing anything else. Idril wanted to become a scribe in the libraries so she could spend her days transcribing scrolls or dedicate her self to one of the temples to become a vestal virgin.
Tumblr media
Muirenn sat her down and explained the uncomfortable truths. Afon and Murienn had always encouraged their children to learn and to create. But, women had a place and a responsibility, she wouldn't be able to pursue those paths. It wouldn't be long until she she would be at an age to marry. Like Muirenn, she would be a wife, run a household, possibly have a business and would likely become a mother. Her intelligence and skill would serve her well in many aspects of life but her love of books would not take her down a path to academics. Idril felt defeated, there were so many things she wanted to see and do, being tied to a house felt like a punishment.
Tumblr media
Muirenn, felt for her daughter. She had come across the sea with her clan to settle in the Valley. She had chosen Afon and he, her. There was much more freedom then. When Earendil was born, Khur moved them here. The river people were kind, they helped shelter them, helped Khur build this house, and taught them so many things. The army arrived when the kids were young and declared this area for their king, which for Afon and Muirenn meant taxes. The army moves in and out of the area, but the house was too far from their roads for them to bother with, and they always paid their taxes. So many things had changed, the options open to her were not available for Idril. She hoped Idril would change her mind as she grew older, she didn't want her only daughter to be miserable. Earendil had gotten lucky, his wife was both a love match and a business match. Castor and Pollux had done well with negotiating it. Afon had been working to find a match for Dior with little luck, at this rate the twins will be married first.

Chapter 49: Calling for Pompey (Pt. 1)
The morning of the vote was chilly and overcast, yet the dreary weather didn’t prevent a vast crowd from turning out for the day’s events.
Tumblr media
On major voting days, the tribunes moved their bench from the Basilica Porcia to the Temple of Castor and Pollux, where there was more space and a façade that lent itself well to the century votes. Double stairways flanked the temple’s collonaded frontage, allowing citizens to file up one side, vote, then exit down the other.
Tumblr media
Meanwhile, the long bench of the tribunate sat at ground level in the front. At one end sat Pompey’s tribunes, Gabinius and Cornelius, while at the other sat Sextus Trebellius and Marcus Roscius, two tribunes well known for belonging to Crassus.
Tumblr media
Once the auspices had been read, a crier gave the lex Gabinia a final reading before the people before voting began. However, as he finished, Gabinius himself stood and raised his arms.
Tumblr media
“Citizens!” Gabinius cried. “Today is a great day that shall spell the beginning of the end for the pirates of Our Sea. But, as if that was not enough, I come to share joyous news. Pompey the Great has heard your cries and has been deeply moved! He is willing to reconsider his position and, should he be asked again by the people of Rome, accept the supreme command!”
A murmur ran through the crowd.
Tumblr media
“People of Rome, the answer to all our prayers is at hand! What say you? Would you have Pompey the Great accept this honor?”
Tumblr media
From the steps of the senate, Crassus, Catulus and their assembled cronies began to cry out “no, no,” but were drowned out by the deafening roar of the crowd shouting in the affirmative.
“Then let us put it to a vote!” Gabinius cried out.
Tumblr media
Seeing a nod from his master, Crassus, Trebellius rose, his face grim.
“Then I veto this bill!” he cried.
A murmur of disappointment ran through the crowd.
Tumblr media
“So, my colleague Trebellius vetos!” Gabinius said. “But does he speak for you all?”
“No! No!” cried the crowd.
Tumblr media
Cicero leaned over to me and whispered.
“Now the play begins,” he said.

"Helene has her own duties, enough whining you both will have a week to adjust. And -"
"Helene is courting someone!"
Helene whipped her head at Pollux who shrugged.
"If we have to be miserable you do too."
Ajax rubbed at his temples. Castor at least was just sulking and seemed to enjoy watching the brewing fight. He had said they needed to wait till their Rite finished to court someone. So she had done that, still he would have liked to know about this first.
"Is that true Helene?"
Helene flushed and shifted on her feet. She nodded ducking her head. Pollux smirked and looked to their father.
"Ask her who it is."
Ajax leaned back in his chair.
"If you know so much and are so eager why don't you just tell me Pollux?"
"Azriel! She's wanted to marry him since we kids - Ow! Helene!"
Pollux rubbed at his leg, Helene glared at him from across the table. Castor had laughed into his tea. Ajax looked to his daughter, trying to keep his face serious.
"Marriage? Is that serious then?"
Killing her brother wasn't an option, but hurting him so he knew to keep his big mouth shut was definitely what was needed. She couldn't believe he had just done this to her, just blown everything out of the water and revealed it to their father. Did Pollux not understand she had wanted to see where it was going first? What if they didn't last? Yes, they said they would wait until after her Rite, but still!
"Pollux is overexaggerating," she responded firmly, she wasn't giving him in control of this. "Azriel and I are courting, we said we would see where it went after I had completed my Rite. We haven't done anything or made any mad plans like Pollux is hinting." She shot another glare at him. Getting married was something she had wanted, but to force Azriel into that when they hadn't really done anything.
"I mean, is that out? I will not do anything which will disgrace us, and Azriel is a gentleman and he does love me. We are taking things slow."

Theseus series #11 (Murdered in Exile)
Regretting the loss of his friend Pirithous, Theseus makes his way back to Athens to find the city in rebellion. Helens brothers, Castor and Pollux, have rescued their sister and Athens is on the brink of war with the Spartans. A new Athenian king, Menestheus, has turned the citizens against Theseus, forcing him to send his children away and flee to the island of Scyros under the protection of King Lycomedes. But King lycomedes betrays Theseus, leading him up to a view point on a high cliff, and pushing him off to his death. Thus, Theseus life ends in murder and exile.
A few hundred years later, the Greeks fight the Persians in the battle of Marathon (490 B.C.) During this battle many warriors claim to see the ghost of Theseus leading a charge into battle. General Cimon receives a prophecy from the Oracle at Delphi, instructing him to retrieve Theseus body from Scyros. Cimon overtakes the island, and seeing an eagle digging, locates the giant bones of Theseus. Cimon relocates them back to Athens and seals them within a grand Tomb. In addition, in his honor, the temple known as the Theseion is built, as well as the creation of the festival Theseia. The Theseion temple was established as hero-cult sanctuary for the poor and oppressed. The remains of a Doric temple North West of the Agora was thought to be the Theseion, but many modern scholars believe this to be the Temple of Hephaestus.
The actual tomb of Theseus was rumored to be near the Lyceum (gymnasium), and the design of the tomb is rumored to look like the Tomb of Mausolus in Halicarnassus (ancient greek city in western Turkey) There is much debate as to whether Theseus was a real, historical king, as his grave or body has never been found.
The Theseia Festival consisted of athletic competitions for Athenian males to compete and show their military skills (torch races, equestrian races) as well as processions and sacrifices. Plutarch tells us the festival took place on the 8th day of the month, as it was the day Theseus returned from Crete with the resecued tributes, and in honor of his father Poseidon.
