Day 1-Lesserafim’s Hong eunchae

Today lesserafim we’re performing perfect night so YN thought it was a good day to invite one of the members to have a little chit chat on her new show.

When she got there she saw that they were resting from all the performing at the show.

She was of course shy and nervous as all of them were older than her.

So when she got to the room they were resting In the first thing she did was bow saying hello in a polite way.

“Hello I’m here to pick up eunchae” YN said but didn’t notice kazuha fan girling in the background.

“Sure” Sakura said and eunchae excitedly got up to meet the younger one.

On the way outside the building YN said”I saw you enjoying some bubble tea then-“

“Ah do you want one? I can go get it for you we have more than 2” eunchae says and rushed back to go and get one bubble tea just for YN……

“Ah No nee-“ she said but it was too late as eunchae has already gone back to the room and got her one bubble tea.

“Here” eunchae said and gave YN to which she smiled and thanked her.

Here's the thing tho, whilst it's great that they took accountability and made some real immediate change on the back of feedback 'watcher would of gone-under if we just stayed on youtube' is a WILD statement

Like who the fuck is your business manager?! And sack them immediately.

There are numerous channels on YT that have (sometimes much) more staff, big studios, high production costs etc and manage to fund that completely with ads, patreon, merch, tours etc (the normal and all things watcher has/does). And these are channels I have no reason to believe don't pay their staff a fair and decent wage. They'd be bleeding employees if they weren't.

If you're not able to pay your staff a fair wage with current youtube income then clearly you've taken on more staff than is financially sustainable or sensible right now!

And as for wanting to make higher quality content, I don't begrudge them that if that's what they want, but it's pretty clear from the comments that generally their audience doesn't give a flying fuck about the quality, in fact they kinda like the low budget stuff! So why make 'high-quality' a business priority if its not a priority for your viewership? You could just aim to slowly move towards that as you hopefully increased the revenue you had available to do it, if you were still wanting to.

You wouldn't have needed to make this apology video if you'd just made some better fucking business decisions in the first place.

i have this entirely insane theory about iswm that Engineer Mark is actually Damien, but only sometimes.

the most obvious places i can spot him is in the abandoned ship with the candles ("captain needs their sleep" and whatnot), as Old Mark (specifically in the empty diner), and most definitely as the "Mark" we see as part of the finale, the one who realizes he was wrong.

Actor is allergic to admitting fault so I Don't Believe That's Him.

this explains the thematic focus on sleep and rest in these scenes, things told to Damien and told to US by DARK several times.

everyone looks to you, but under your leadership everything goes wrong, no matter what. you don't know why, but you're actively villinized and the harder you try to go back and fix things, achieve an "ending" on your own, the more people HATE you. the more the thought that maybe there IS something wrong with you specifically will stick in your mind as a possibility.

all these options, but none of them "right", creating MORE suffering instead of fixing it just to find that ever elusive end.

damien wants control of the narrative? he wants his old friend, you, the District Attorney to be released from his eternal story and given back to him? FINE.

(yes, i do think Damien/Engineer is genuinely going down his own hopeless path while we find our own. in one of the descriptions leading to the final "Hold On/Let Go" confrontation, it says "you're not the only one making choices. you're not alone, you never were".)

he is allowed to fight for the safety of others, side by side with his closest companion, just as they did when they were alive.

BUT, the twist is Damien becomes a genuine villain. in his quest to do the altruistic thing and help at all cost, he is personally responsible for the death of LITERALLY EVERYONE EVER.

this is a personal hell for someone like Damien, as seen from WKM, all he ever seemed to want was help others and guide them towards peace.

for his actions/leadership to fail so unthinkably catastrophically, seems like the exact hell a bitter Actor would want to subject his "old friend" to for meddling. :/

Actor sets the stage for a theatrical punishment game. Mayor and Attorney, together again, taking an impossibly long stay in a personally crafted hell for the horrendous crime of ever even thinking they'd be worthy of ✨️staring roles✨️.

Actor turns you two against each other, and once Damien is brough down to the depths of despair and you have finally learned that true responsibility can lead to catastrophic, painful results, we're brought back to our proper places.

you go to a proper ending, with the Engineer role now being played by Actor once and for all, and Damien once again becomes part of Darkiplier, pocketing the warp-crystal to plant on the box in Heist.

Engineer isn't Actor, it's a role he plays when it suits him and his goals, to make his enemies suffer. he's willing to be Damien's understudy, if only for this purpose.

but at the end of the journey, Actor becomes Engineer to take in the fruits of his labor. ..and maybe invite you to a Heist while he's at it.

I was watching a YT video breaking down the trailer and the person mentioned that before the show, the online fandom was quite small. Is that true? And if so, what has it been like seeing it explode? The first fandom I ever got into was for a little Australian period detective show and it was so nice. It was very small and there was literally zero drama. I would imagine it would be annoying as hell to be in a nice little “coven” (if you will) enjoying all the many and varied canonical relationships within the series only for the show to open it up to people with zero media literacy screaming their fav ship is the only one true ship and this vampire character is a bad person while this other vampire is baby boi.

Well, to be frank, I wasn't "in" the VC fandom before the show, though I heard that while enduring it wasn't too big.

I had been, kinda, once upon a time. I had been around before Anne's wrath came down. (She literally had fanfictions removed, sites closed down, threatened to sue, etc etc). That was... back then. I used to be in forums, and mailing list before that. I still have fanfiction of 20 years back printed out.

Her coming down hard on the fandom threw me back, so to speak, and also reading the end of "Memnoch the Devil", which, at the time was meant to be the end to it all... broke my heart.

I stepped back from it then, for a while. You know, real life, playing WoW, studying, starting to work^^. Had a daughter :)

The love for it stayed though, I kept all my stuff.

When I heard about the show I wasn't overly impressed by the head shots (lol, I stand corrected, but I mean given Rolin's comments in the podcast at least I'm in good company^^), nor the shifts in the story that were published - because who could anticipated it being THIS?! :))))

And so I tuned in for Jacob Anderson, who I'd loved in GoT. And I was actually sold after the SDCC 2022 trailer. That trailer... hit it.

I cannot describe it.

And yes, from what I saw the fandom then exploded.

The changes to the narrative in the show however split what had already been there and what was coming in up a bit, let's put it that way. For ME this is an ingenious adaptation. They "get" it, imho. They focus on the important bits, and they dare. Just... brilliant.

For some the changes were reason to withdraw though.

It is a bit... annoying to see all the "ship wars" in this content, yes. But I get it, I've spoken about it the other day. I don't think "we" (as in most of the audience) are used to a show like this.

We are not used (anymore) to be challenged as much while watching, we are not used to a show daring to put its fingers into wounds like that. We are not used to a show going full mess wrt relationships.

We are not used to a show that dares, and does so on a level I have seldom seen.

I call this show the "show of the decade" and I stand by that. In quality and approach it is and will be.

But yeah... moralizing these characters... will fail *laughs*

They're all terrible. Killers, murderers.

I currently see none of the drama (if there is any?!), my timeline is utterly peaceful, and I do want it to stay that way. I've had my say on that. That subset can keep it.

So I watched "My mum is a lobster" because I'm going through all of his videos chronologically, right, and I was like- you know what? I'm going to scroll down the comments. There's over 2,000, which isn't as much as others so why the hell not?

And GUYS. The way I could literally see the internet changing from 2024 to 2008 was FASCINATING. Genuinely the coolest thing I've seen all week. The content of the comments was one thing: from people commenting about how young Phil is, how this was just under a year from when he met Dan, to people in 2016 going on about... whatever they were talking about in 2016 yk

But then when you get down to the bottom do you see the real good stuff. There's no replies, since Youtube was structured differently I guess, and a lot of the comments don't make sense I think because they were replying to other comments- but I digress.

The use of :D, lolz, the two carats (^^), the xD, the :S, all relics at this point tbh. Obv some people use them still but see their abundance!

Hi , I too am a shifter who is yet to shift successfully. You seem to be the right person to ask this because you have shifted.

You absolutely do not have to answer this if you think so and my intention of asking this is to clear my doubts and absolutely not to be mean or anything else

Today I was going through yt videos for motivation and I came across a 'reacting to this trend' type of video where the 'trend' in discussion was reality shifting ofcourse. It was harsh and the reactor was calling shifters ' teenagers who just found about imagination ' . The comments were all in favour of the video and any 'shifter' comment was replied by saying ' schizophrenia, maladaptive daydreaming, disassociation , lucid dreaming ' . Some people even stated that it was possible for them to touch and think in their lucid dreams hence lucid dreams = reality shifting.

This whole thing made me doubt it. There was even a comment saying that anti shifters do not have to stick their nose in our community if they believe it be false so extremely and one of the replies that made me go hmmm was 'if you can't face a challenge to your belief, Is your belief actually true'.

You are a shifter and i assume you will have a answer to this.

I want to start off by saying it’s okay to have doubts! You can still shift with them!!

Shifting isn’t simply just touching and thinking it’s reality. You can feel, think, touch, smell, hear EVERYTHING. it’s real.

In my opinion if you can believe that astral projection, lucid dreaming, manifestation, etc is real then shifting really shouldn’t be such a stretch and all the former mentioned practices are widely accepted around the world. There was a time when people thought that lucid dreaming wasn’t real, they didn’t think that it was possible to be both awake and asleep at the same time. Man made logic. It’s exactly that man made. Man doesn’t know everything, we created explanations and logic as a way to help our brains process such a vast and complex world but we don’t have to be bound to such constraints all of the time.

People will judge what they cant understand, what’s seemingly bigger than them, because it scares them. These reactors and commentators got all of their information from tiktok which is FILLED with misinformation and it was probably during the peak of dracotok which is worse 😭😭. I promise it’s not mental illness, it is not imagination, it’s not lucid dreaming. I have experienced all of those and I’ve also separately experience shifting. They all feel so so different.

We underestimate the human mind and soul. We were made for so much more than this and if you believe that as well then stick to it. You’ll be more peaceful than those antis will ever know.

I remember one yt comment assuming that Ghost both OG and reboot had a family of his own as in wife and kids just because he was throwing around dad jokes with Soap back and forth.

It got me thinking then; how? like sure i guess people could assume it's because he wears a mask to stay anonymous but even then it doesn't add up? He's a nobody essentially, a Ghost, he has nothing, no picture on his file, like NOTHING. It is strongly implied that he's hiding his identity for a much bigger and most likely fucked up reason. Also people in the military or undercover covert ops don't wear masks for the sake of protecting their family/loved ones only, we have to remember that not every of these guys are actually good, and this is further reinforced in the MW and other CoD franchises, so yeah, not exactly a GhostSoap topic but more about Ghost himself. Have any thoughts? Feel free to share with us, i love your analyses and interpretations!

The assumption about Ghost having a wife and kids just because he likes dad jokes is well... It's a take.

The fun thing about these sorts of headcanons is that Ghost is just as likely to have a HUSBAND and kids as well. Again it's one of those things where you can think up all sorts of secret "xyz" that Ghost could be hiding. There's nothing proving it isn't wrong, but there's also no real factual basis behind it.

When it comes to spec ops like 141 is and really any SAS/delta aligned operatives is that there's a general OPSEC on these guys already (if we're gonna use the American terminology for this). Meaning that any general public picture/info of these guys working/in uniform etc is already usually scrubbed.

The fact that Ghost is going out of his way to hide his identity means a lot more I think than just hiding love ones away. I mean there's also nothing stopping Price, Gaz or Soap to be hiding loved ones as well and they even mention it in Alejandro's case. And yet none of these guys wear a mask habitually.

Add in Ghost's obvious trust issues, how much he stands apart from people, his hesitance on being a Team and the implication he got betrayed (by someone close, prob teammates), it all paints something a bit different than just hiding an identity purely because some bad men might hunt down your secret family.

Granted, Ghost might be embroiled in some very horrible shit, so maybe the stakes are higher for him. But I think the same could be said of Price. And Price seems far more likely to have a random family cause he's actually approachable/sociable.

But again who knows.

What I can say is that Ghost cares about his appearance standing out. I agree that him wearing a mask just to stay anon actually doesn't make sense. Ghost is very memorable. If he wanted to be discreet, his get up is 'quite the opposite'. There's a mythos behind him.

His very appearance is well thought out; the guy has the most different outfits/setups out of any of the team. The skull mask is painted and hand sewn on. He accessorizes with SKELETON GLOVES too.

Ghost also had a teammate in the past that also currently wears a skull mask. It's possible that 'Ghost' might actually mean more than hiding himself, but perhaps an identity to be used for intimidation.

Perhaps like Cod: Ghost's there's a unit of Ghosts that all wore 09 ghost balaclavas in the past who were famed for being the John wicks of the codmw reboot universe?

There are so many possibilities with the inclusion of Mace and that one statement we got from the Game Dev.

But eh who knows. I could be very wrong too 🤣.

I am in awe of many of them. I mostly stayed out of any controversies, though they naturally were bound to find me in whatever corner of the world I was hiding. Privacy breaches, a lot of dirty clothes being dug out, CC targeting, mental illnesses, fans being unable to separate characters from content creators, and more. It's disgusting

I went to among us streamers in search for idk maybe more mature vibe, and I thought I found peace for just a short while. But lobby slot arguments, people not clicking with each other, that even led to shouting matches, bringing the group mood down. It was exhausting. The fandom was as creative, less explosive but was new, inconsistent and shaky, and it seemed that nobody knew each other

I don't see that much in PR1 streaming group and PR2 community. I enjoy talking to people that hang out here and enjoy the same things that I enjoy in a similar way that I do, and they are all just wonderful, just amazing, and fun, and crazy, and insane (in the best way possible). There is peace between CCs and fans, both sides addressing the bad things that happen in the fullest once, just once, and that is always enough for the both sides to keep the matter quiet and just keep up the positivity and mutual understanding

However

The recent events (that were basically just a sum up of several events prior to that, and it started way back a decade ago) actually rose a serious concern, that I was really hesitant to address, but it's that time I guess (yt "we have to talk" thumbnail)

I have not encountered online bullying directed at myself yet, and I hope I'll never have to, and I wish that my fellow PR2 people will not experienced that in the future

I know what irl bullying is though, I've experienced it first hand. I know what it is like to be hated and publicly laughed at because of being different. I know what it feels like to hear slurs and hate-talk about yourself and those who are very close to you from such a prejudiced point of view

I just escaped all of that. I have enclosed myself within a tiny space, consisting of only those who I want to speak to, those who I enjoy listening to, topics I feel safe reading and not going to lose my last nerves on

If straight people get to have their slice of life nothing fucking happens campy comics/webtoons whatever, why can't queer people?

Boyfriends is a sweet queer poly comic focused on communication between its members. Sure, the ad voices that were pushed on yt/tiktok were quite stereotypical and rather annoying, but who cares? It's not like the whole comic is voiced like that or even voiced at all.

Cringe is subjective. Even representation should never be considered universal. There's no one size rep. There's no universal standard for gay person who only enjoys X kind of media.

You don't have to like it, of course, but different flavors of media can and should co-exist. The weird insistence on one particular subjective kind of "good queer media" is beyond weird. Or that boyfriends is "objectively bad". Who is the almighty queer council that decides that? I would like to speak to them. Please stop putting things in weird arbitrary boxes.

“Alright, so if we go down this hallway and to the left, there should be the exit..” You mumbled to no one in particular, your character roaming a haunted hallway inside of a horror game called “123 Slaughter Me Street”. The chat of your youtube livestream was rather slow today. There were plenty of people watching, over 6 thousand people, but it wasn’t as active as it was normally. 

Maybe you weren’t seeing how fast it actually was. It was raining outside which seemed to slow the world down, and you were playing a horror game, making you hyper sensitive to every moving thing in the room within your peripheral vision. It really wasn’t the most ideal or relaxing environment, but that was fine. It was a horror game stream so why in the world would it be relaxing?

As you finally found the exit, your chat began to go absolutely nuts, comments flashing by faster than you could read it. Comments like, “BEHIND YOU!!” and “OMGOSH (YT/n) LOOK OUT!” being the most common which made you confused as you entered the lit doorway inside the game. “Chat what are you-”

A loud shout and the feeling of two hands grabbing your shoulders made you shriek and thrash around, consequently falling out of your chair and onto the floor. There above you, laughing with his hands on his knees, was your dad, Markiplier. “HAHAHA! The look on your face was priceless!” You got up, smacking him lightly on the arm. “You’re lucky I finished the level, otherwise I would’ve killed you.” 

Mark smiled, looking at you with an innocent look. “Aww don’t be like that. You know you love me.” Returning to your chair, you smirked and let your hands rest on the keyboard and mouse. “I don’t know.. I think I’m starting to shift more to hate than love.” Mark let out a dramatic gasp, his hands flying to the back of your chair and shaking it as he exclaimed, “But (Y/n), hatred to the dark side leads! Has Star Wars taught you nothing??” 

The chat was still thriving with the many viewers shouting compliments, hellos, and proclamations of love to you and Mark, as well as laughing at your family antics. “Anyway,” your dad continued, watching as you start up the next level, “I got some Chick-Fil-A while I was out and I have some food for you if you want it.” 

“Oh heck yeah I want it. Thank you! I take back what I said about hating you.” Mark laughed as he left the room and came back a moment later with the bag of deliciousness, followed closely by Chica who stared intently at the delivery. “Alright, see you after the stream! Love you!” He said, waving behind him as he left the room.

“Love you too!” You paused the game, opening up the bag and sorting the food on the desk before resuming. Looking back at the stream, the stream of comments hadn’t entirely died down from their Markiplier high. “Oi, chat, stop calling my dad hot.” Taking a bite out of a waffle fry, you started a new level.

-timeskip a week later-

“No, Alcina Lady Dimitrescu would never be a vessel for someone so unworthy as Eva! Already perfect is what you were trying to say! Already the pinnacle of evolution! You could literally do no better than what you already have so why would you even need a vessel for Eva?” Announced Mark as he played through Resident Evil Village.

As he continued his rant, a knock came from the door. “Dad! She’ll be a fine vessel. It’s not like Lady’s alive or anything.” You called, opening the door to the room. Yes, you knew he was recording but decided to mess with him. “No! Shut up! You don’t know what you’re talking about.”

“Stop lying to yourself! She’s dead, she’s not real, and she’s not coming back!” 

“First of all, she’s not dead, she’s just in my pocket in the form of an inanimate crystal statue. Also, I could say the same thing about some of those fictional boys you love so much.”

“At least my fictional relationships won’t try to kill me as soon as they see me.” 

“Listen, we have a very complicated relationship! You wouldn’t understand our love.”

“Yeah, yeah, whatever you say.” You promptly left the room as Mark rolled her eyes. “She doesn’t know what she’s talking about, chat.”

-timeskip the next day-

You were once again streaming live on YouTube, this time playing Fall Guys. So far you had managed to score two wins out of the seven rounds you played thus far. During a break in the game, you once again saw your chat go nuts with excited greetings to your dad. Turning around, you noticed Mark frozen in place, as if by not moving you wouldn’t notice him. The two of you stayed in that position, your interlocked gazes not breaking for about a minute. 

In his hand was a small box of mocha pop tarts.

“Breaking your diet again, are you?” You said, crossing your arms as Mark started moving again, hiding the opened box of pastries behind your reading pillow and some stuffies in front of your bookshelf. The box was perfectly hidden on the lower shelf. “Don’t tell Amy.” He simply said, exiting the room.

The chat continued to move quickly, people spamming messages like:

“Don’t worry! I’ll never snitch on you 🤫” 

“I LOVE YOU MARK!!!”

“Even when binge eating poptarts, he’s still friggin hot!”

And “MARK PLS MARRY ME!!”

Yes, this certainly wasn’t uncommon when he appeared in a stream, but it did get annoying at times. “Chat, calm the heck down and for heaven’s sake stop calling my dad hot!” 

“An interesting comment section you have here.” suddenly came a comment from Mark in the live chat, making it blow up once again with the praise and nearly undivided attention from the excited viewers.

“(sigh). This is gonna be a long stream…” You grumbled under your breath as you continued the game.

-timeskip later that day-

Mark was relaxing in the living room when You walked downstairs, sitting down on a nearby couch. An awkward silence filled the room, the two of them not daring to break it or even look at each other. The pressure began to build with every second that passed till it reached a breaking point when a female voice entered the scene with the sound of a closing door.

“Mark, (Y/n)! I’m here!”

“I’M GONNA TELL AMY!!”

“(Y/N) NO!!!”

I'm thinking about the erm oxidized copper theory abt a.b.a's hair (which was disproven but like, the theory creator was not at fault, they said they just made a theory and got out of hand by people) and somehow by telephone, aside from people believing it was the real deal, someone in yt comments mentioned that it was alledgely canon that a.b.a had "blood of mercury, hair of copper and skin of stone" which makes me go ???

Where did the skin of stone part come from? Who made it up?? Was it Cause (esp in classic games) she was very inhumanely pale?? (Though her sprite was slightly less pale). That's so funny.

Is this an old theory or something someone made up in yt??

However, this gave me inspiration for a headcanon in which while she doesn't have straight up skin of stone but.. what if she still had skin of mineral?

According to Real Life Paracelsus, in the concept of alchemy's Tria Prima, mercury was the soul, sulfur was the mind, and salt was the body.

So, we can go pretty close to a stone body by technicality without being that huh? In my headcanon, blood would be a physical allegory for the soul, so we could then argue the brain is made from sulfur?

Honestly, my headcanon is baseless, I don't entertain the idea myself (cause that's fucking cursed. Salt skin A.B.A..) and strive and every piece where a.b.a doesn't have a zombie-ish looking skintone disprove it but, hey it's a fun concept and I wanted to share.

Also, if you allow me some shameless self promotion, I actually implemented tria prima motifs in my a.b.a strive design concept from a couple years ago before she got into the game (that's how I know about it lol), though as accesories, rather than her being a walking tria prima.

Ok, but like why does Yoongi do Jk dirty like that? Lol Yoongi doesn't LIKE Jimin like that (does he?) and it's obvious that Jk does and the members know it.

Like in the behind the scenes of the xylitol Christmas commercial where Yoongi touches Jimin's ear and Jimin looks at Jk, Yoongi also looks at Jk's reaction. And a lot of other times where Yoongi is just waiting for Jk to react and Jk does and Yoongi just stands there without anything to do anymore.

Yoongi knows he is ruffling Jk's feathers by touching Jimin lol but why does he do it!?!

Could be many reasons

1) He doesn't care. 😂 At the end of the day he's older than JK so this could be a hyung card at play here. Who knows? (RM too stopped caring. He used to pull away from Jimin in the past when JK got bothered but at some point he said "fuck it")

2) Suga respects the Jikook relationship. (This should be number one but his behaviour is the reason we're talking about this so...😂)

Contrary to popular stupid beliefs, BTS wouldn't be BTS if they were dating eo willy nilly. Some of the things I see under YT comments are insane! V used to date JK but then JK left him for Jimin and now he's trying to win JK back. Or When JK rejected Jimin, Jimin started dating Suga and then Jimin left Suga for JK and now bla bla bla I mean, i see this shit everyday and I'm like;

I think it has to do with fanfiction, but it also has to do with the kind of TV shows we watch where a group of friends date eo and break up with eo all inside the group and somehow they remain friends and life goes on?? That's not how real life works. At all.

If any of that fuckery 👆🏽 actually happened it would affect the dynamic of BTS as a whole, big time. They wouldn't have been together all these years as a group if this was the case. Especially considering how possessive JK is. How attached to Jimin (satellite Jeon) he is. You really think Jimin getting with Suga would not cause some bad blood???

When they were young BTS were given scenarios where they were asked what they would do if 2 members wanted the same girl. Jimin said he would find another girl while JK basically said he would fight for his girl till the death. (I'm paraphrasing 😂) but yeah, JK said he would never give her up. Then couple that with JK's "mine mine mine" thing he's got going on and you know that man ain't about sharing, loosing Jimin, or none of that shit.

Another time Jimin said he wants to fall in love with one person for the rest of his life.

So these are the men we are dealing with. Those are their personalities. So this fanfic drama, love triangles people make up are just that, fan fiction.

3) Jimin is the only member he's comfortable having skinship with. This is because Jimin is very attune to people's feelings and u can see the way he initiates skinship with Suga is not how he does it with JK or Jhope. With JK he will just throw himself at him and call it a day. With Suga he will take a beat and actually make sure Suga is okay with it. And I believe Suga appreciates that.

Idk why Suga does what he does, anon. But there is one important thing we have to remember. JK doesn't have an issue with ALL Yoonmin moments. He could have an issue with them on Monday then on Wednesday he won't care. A good example would be this episode.

During this game Suga spent a good chunk of it all over Jimin and JK did not bat an eye. Not even once.

He wasn't bothered even for a second. Which fascinated me honestly. So just coz we don't talk about Yoonmin often, doesn't mean it happens all the time.

Also JK trusts Jimin explicitly and knows nothing is ever gonna come off whatever Suga feels. So it is what it is.

20th century boys - scrapped reveals and plot twists?

Don't know if anybody cares about speculating something as hard to proof and irrelevant, but I had a few ideas while reading, which even if didnt come true, seemed to be getting hinted at and with how much was made on the spot I wonder if they were originally the plan...

So not really them mentionened besides random yt comments that may or may not be an alt account of me...

Spoilers of course.

Donkey was supposed to be friend?

Remember how Donkey was first introduced? As the weird kid others ostrociced and didnt really want to include, who actually was very smart and talanted all excentricitys aside.

And he was the first "friend" to die, as a classic misdirection - while having an obvious excuse introduced to fake his death "Oh all his siblings look just like him..." (Also the evil twin angel was really emphasised with the fat bully kids at the start, hmmm....)

Donkey was the one that had the skills and near supernatural abilities while being the classic story of a good kid cracking and turning - tieing the dark subversion if shonen magazine tropes.

His whole skepticism of things could tie into too with him cynically learning that "Oh people want to fall for superstitions for illusions, really friendship is fake as well, so why not start a cult, not like its hard for me to make some tricks..."

The symbol being sent by him would be than a cheeky hint, the intentional start of a goose chase, but no geese will ever outrun a donkey...Even all the showing of Donkey in the first half would not just be as motivation for the middle aged friend group, but a setup for this dark twist, while laying the seeds of the themes, maybe even having Dunkey in his twisted logic think he did it for their sake, to make them be the heroes they didnt become.

Oh and also the whole Aldrin Moon Nasa thing seems to work the best for him - with him being the stereotype of a "I fricking love science" kid (who if I dont misremeber is said to have actually wiaited till it happened and didnt fall asleep, but maybe Im misremebering that part) and also his familys lack of money stoping him from enjoying many activities with his "friends" (even having to watch tv with Kenji...)

Oh and for any "well how would he set it up, was the one injured guy lieing about what Donkey said before he threw him of??? Or was that all part of his plan??!"

And yeah its convoluted and kinda breaks the "trying to figure out a mystery without the author just lieing and pulling bullshit" part - but Urasawa does it anyways, with all the reveals obviously not being planned before getting changed again (as he admits)

Oh and also that applys to the "real" reveal (the first one) - we literally saw the friend guy have an emotional breakdown, say he knows who the real friend must be, remove the friends mask and say he isnt that and then fall to his death

So if the Dunkey twist goes against the story, so does the real one. "Ohnono, you just had to assume that he lied and hired actors for his family and then did a double misdirection plunge to the dead and-" Yeah ok Donkey could have done that too.

but for the other theory

Kiriko/the protags sister had a "virgin birth"

So remember when there was that random detail about "Godzilla being a girl and giving a birth without a father"? And how this godzilla thing getting a callback with the mom saying she is one cause her virus killed that many people?

Well isnt it weird that the actually weird part wasnt adressed? Especially when Kanna was mysterious from the start and that at the same time talks of a "Holy Mother" started, as did all the Christian imagery with saviors dieing, resurecting and the pope (with Catholics having the biggest connection with Mary...)

But then it didnt pay of - guess she really had a secret relationship with a random half-friend of her younger brother🤷‍♂️ Not saying that that is more fantastical than all the magic and conspiracys but still a weird detail, especially with the romance and relationship not being explored at all.

It even seems to be anti thetical, with the sister being very mature and selfless, while "friend" is childish and egoistical (well maybe a certain codependent weird thing makes sense now but ehh...)

Still what would make more sense in a dramatic story with supernatural elements - the model sister suddenly just having a kid and abandoning it without ever telling anyone about the father who she only found out was evil after having a consensual relationship which she didnt really have a reason to hide at the start

Or if she DOES have a miracle birth...

Like Kiriko was literally shown to be a perfect sister, doing everything for her brother, being responsible, taking everyones shit, even sacrificing her well being for her brother and others while having a stoic expression.

Maybe she actually did magically get a baby and that scared here enough to abandon it without explaining because who could believe it.

Or maybe something cause it, something she couldnt explain.

Like Friends "magic" or "science"(magic) - hence why Friend calls himself "the father" - he kinda is, in some way, indirectly, idk

Or, as a subtheory...

Kiriko was friend. Think about it, she would be "the father" if her research developed a way to create a child without a fathers DNA (I mean there is a magic anti-proton bomb, and the virus is also not really scientific), the "father" being the part of her that is the alter ego executing the plan, the magic and the tricks.

But more importantly, it would be the perfect obvious misdirection - they were so busy searching for a boy in their class, missing the obvious girl who was just a few years older, who may even in younger photos, if she could have had short hair as that other girl love interet with the dog as a kid had, may have looked as a standard early middle school boy.

And the thematic motivation would be perfect too - she allways just saw everything from the outskirts, she had to be the older and responsible one, not having a chance to ever play like her younger brother did, being resentful of not being able to have a secret base and alll, especially when the other girl could join later.

The scientific angel is there too, as the metaphor of "being in the space capsule while the others got all the fun and glory"

Also it would be a perfect hiding in a plain sight twist thing "Oh my sister disapeared and left a baby, I wonder who this mysterious masked individual is who seems to know me and my friend so much while even knowing the name of my sisters kid... Guess we'll never know🤷‍♂️" (bonus connection - the concert being "not real rock" could be the sis either trolling him on porpuse, or doing it as a intentional thing while also not understanding why it doesnt work, showing that there is this misunderstading between siblings that could get solves in the end)

I am new to your blog and I've enjoyed it so far. Thanks for opening up your asks by the way. Just wanted to find out from you how you got into believing in Taekook if you are willing to share.

Thank you! I used to answer questions for anons years ago but kind of hit a wall when I was getting hundreds of asks a day and a lot of them were trolls. I still have the same beliefs about Taekook and I've been chatting with people here for the last few months and I like the vibe. So I hope I can add something worthwhile to the conversation. It's funny because when I first became a Taekooker Tumblr and YouTube were my first preferred places for discussions. I got into this in the latter half of 2016. I had been a BTS fan since 2014 but HYYH era pushed me to do a much deeper dive not just into them as artists but who they were in their lives outside of that. I was falling down the rabbit hole of watching compilations of sweet BTS interactions (all members) on YT, and I just happened to see a comment from someone who said they had been a Kpop fan for a long time and had seen a lot of ships but the only one they actually thought could be real was "V and Jungkook". I'm JK biased, so I was like "oh really?" 😂 At the time there weren't really analysis videos everywhere the way there are now (and I don't watch those because I find them cringey), but there were two very active accounts called Maknaez and cutetaeboy(I think???). They basically just updated every few days with new Taekook "moments". No analysis, just pics and video clips compiled. As I said, this was second half of 2016. The Smart Event had just happened. Bon Voyage season one had just aired. Wings era was beginning and then launched them into awards show season. It was a wild time to find Taekook. For me, something just clicked right away. The Smart Event was so intriguing, and the Bon Voyage cuddle is still as mind-blowing to me now as it was then because it's so clear and so intimate. I started keeping up with them constantly and found some Taekooker friends. Award show season was CRAZY. I still remember pics and videos of the "I'll be your man" moment hitting the timeline and I was finally like "oh so they're actually dating, good for them" 😂 (bonus wider angle showing JK softly touching Tae's hand after he sang) Here I am 7+ years later and it just keeps adding up, I think it is pretty simple math. A big moment for me is the Citi Field nape kiss. It's probably still my #1 just because for me it's the one moment that has no platonic explanation. And I'm absolutely sure because I was at that concert. No one is going to tell me it was fanservice, because I was in that venue watching the big screen and I know for a fact that it was hidden from view. I actually met one of my Taekooker friends for the first time that night after the concert and neither of us knew it had happened, but you better believe we were screaming at each other in dms at 1am when the first pics and videos started popping up on Twitter. That was a crazy moment. Solo era further confirmed everything for me. I feel like this is already getting too long so I won't start going off about everything that happened in the last year and a half because I'm sure we'll get around to discussing it eventually. 2. a compelling argument for why my fave would never top or bottom: this question is crazy cause degrassi characters get to be like... 19 at the oldest (not that they die, the just age out and cycle out of the show) so let's imagine them older. now other problem there's like 36 000 of them total starting in the 80s and ending in the 2010s BUT if i pick a fave let's go with Eli Goldsworthy and make a bold claim: he would never top. in canon he's straight (the writers are wrong on this one) but i fully believe that any woman he has ever been with/will ever be with pegs him. he's simply too weak sauce to have the energy to top anybody. he has other things on his mind.

6. which ship fans are the most annoying: like i mentionned, the fandom is kinda dead so i don't really know fandom opinions apart for the yt comments when degrassi was still on youtube for free (booo hbo fuck you) BUT! i will say that people got really invested in Craig/Manny for some reason (he was always awful to her) and started hating Ellie as a result. Now yes Ellie was super misogynistic towards Manny, but that's not really a reason for the fandom to then be super misogynistic towards her. I love Ellie Nash she's my queen get off her back! yes she's whiny and a bitch. it's literally fine.

8. common fandom opinion that everyone is wrong about: OOUUH!! A lot of people hate Connor, which is SO WRONG. They hate him for stealing girls' underwear (which i will admit is creepy and weird) but like... degrassi is the everybody gets a second chance show... yall love Peter (so do i!!) and he literally distributed revenge porn of Manny so..... you just hate Connor cause you can't handle his autistic swag. but i can. i love him. him and jenna are my favourite couple and he's aspec in my head. (also he's a case of "if a white character did the same thing you all would love him" but let's not even go there)

also everybody hates tristan and he literally did nothing wrong. and people hate ellie and she's perfect. and people hate jane and why do you people have so much hate in your heart

21. part of canon i think is overhyped: i'm really having to think about this one cause idk if any part is really hyped all that much lmao degrassi fans, we love to complain...... i'll say a part of canon that i wish wasn't there is Adam's death. JT and Cam felt earned and realistic, but Adam... idk it just came out of nowhere..... and he's literally one of ma faves.....

22. my favourite part of canon that everyone else ignores: omgomgomgomg Marco and Ellie hooking up post graduation. for context Marco's like BEEN fully gay. and he hooks up with Ellie out of sheer codependency which is, in my opinion, HILARIOUS. also, he says that the worst part is he didn't want it to stop (they didn't go all the way) and if the writers of that episode weren't COWARDS he would've had a real reflection on the fluidity of sexuality but oh well. it's an iconic throwaway plotline and one of the foundational building blocks in my evil Craig/Ellie/Marco codependent love triangle polycule
