The Burning Ones

“The Seraphim are all eyes — they can perceive true beauty.”

In the Second Book of Enoch, a class of celestial beings are mentioned alongside the seraphim, known as the “phoenixes.” They are described as "flying elements of the sun.” The phoenix could therefore be an analog for the seraphim.

(A winged sun hovers over a sepulchre filled with water; an alchemical symbol from Rosary of the Philosophers.)

The Phoenix, a mythical bird that symbolizes rebirth, renewal, and immortality across various cultures, is often depicted as being reborn from its ashes, symbolizing the cycle of life, death, and rebirth.

In a literal sense, Twin Flames represent the dual nature of existence — life and death, destruction and rebirth, or even the Phoenix's power over fire itself, alluded to in its namesake that incorporates the word “flames.”

This dual imagery emphasizes the transformative power of the Phoenix, not just in its ability to be reborn, but also in its capacity to navigate and unite opposing forces within the cycle of renewal.

Twin Flames, in spiritual and esoteric beliefs, are souls that are mirror reflections of each other, thought to be the ultimate soulmate connection. Much like the Phoenix, Twin Flames undergo a journey of transformation and rebirth. The journey is deeply connected to another soul and is a powerful transformation that leads to higher levels of consciousness or existence. Twin Flames are phoenixes that represent the idea that through cycles of destruction and rebirth, a soul finds its most profound connection and fulfillment.

Additionally, Twin Flames signify the balancing of energies within oneself or the universe, embodying a harmonious state achieved through the process of rebirth that the Phoenix undergoes. This harmony is essential for personal growth, enlightenment, or the attainment of a higher state of being. The imagery of the Twin Flame Phoenixes is rich with symbolic meaning, often touching on themes of profound transformation, eternal love, and the cyclical nature of life and spiritual evolution.

If Scorpio represents the death of the Phoenix, then Aries represents its resurrection. Both of these astrological signs have a shared home planet in Mars. The planet is named after the Roman God of War: Mars (Ares in Greek mythology). His counterpart is the Roman Goddess of Victory: Victoria.

The Seraphim

The highest ranking of all the choirs, exclusively reserved for Its half-mortal children. Most assume It only created one human child to die for humanity's misdeeds. That is wrong. Throughout their history, It created and sacrificed countless human hybrids. As time dragged on, and the world became a darker place, some say It created thousands of sons and daughters to die for us.

Until one day, It simply vanished. No one knows why. Some believe the withering faith in the Cosmos killed It. Others believe Its heart grew so cold and indifferent, It abandoned the world to die. Whatever the reason, the creator of the universe disappeared without warning.

This was only the beginning. The magic in Heaven immediately weakened, allowing demons to creep back onto Earth. The dreaded, putrid Spires rose, which inflicted the Plague of Despair onto humanity. As men perished on mass, the once dwindling population of the Undead immediately exploded.

Yet of all of Its creations, the Seraphims were the ones who suffered most. One by one, each voice in the great choir was consumed by their grief and burnt up into ash. Within a week, only one remained.

So now the fate of the aviary is in his hands. A man of pure light with six colorful wings. He, the last of the Seraphims, the last of Its sentient children, must go on alone.
