Songs that remind me of The Doctor and Donna and why:
´We Go Together´ by David Tennant and Catherine Tate = you know just the fact that they are singing it makes it a perfect Doctor and Donna song, but if you listen to the lyrics it kind of explains their dynamic and stuff.
´Camel by Camel´ by Sandy Marton = the lyrics in this one is super Donna Noble coded I swear. I mean: I try not to remember, no memories I'm looking for a new dimension, new life to live (Camel by camel) Mysterious places, perfect harmony (Camel by camel) The desert route is changing my destiny...perfectly summs up Donnas life after Jurney´s End.
´Everybody Wants To Rule The World´ by Tears For Fears = Can´t explain this one that well but it just gives off their dynamic in the whole series. It gives me strong DoctorDonna vibes.
´Hey Brother´ by Avicii = I do ship them romantically but this song is them I swear. The lyrics just fits.
´Sigh No More´ by Catherine Tate and David Tennant = Again, sung by them it just is the Doctor and Donna song.
´Anti-Hero´ by Taylor Swift = More Donna than The Doctor. Strong Donna vibes.
´Wildest Dreams´ by Taylor Swift = This one reminds me of ´The Runaway Bride´ when they are looking at the creation of the world and he is looking at her like she is creation of his universe and so on. He also is tall and handsome as hell.
´Something Just Like This´ by The Chainsmokers and Coldplay = Again can´t explain this one so well, it just gives off the vibes that The Doctor is singing this after he lost Donna the first time.
´What Was I Made For?´ by Billie Eilish = More Donna than The Doctor again. STRONG STRONG Donna Noble vibes. I imagine this is how she felt when her mother yelled at her for not being good enough.
´Pompeii´ by Bastille = Yeah I added this just because of the ´Fires of Pompeii´ episode.
´Things We Lost In The Fire´ by Bastille = ´Jurney´s End´ when Donna was locked in the TARDIS. Just this.
´F**kin´ Perfect´ by P!nk = Can imagine the Doctor singing this to Donna when she talks about herslef not being so important.
So this is it for now, if I had more I will reblog this and add more songs.
Also this is just my opinion. For me these songs are perfect for them, doesn´t have to be same for anyone else <3
But if anyone is interested and wants to listen to it, here is a link to the Spotify playlist I made.
And also sorry if I misspelled something, English is not my first language.

fo4 companions favorite songs? thank u <333
Thank you for the request! I'm doing just all songs, not just Fallout 4 type songs if that's alright! And I kind of branched out into the music they like, also.
Cait: Naturally, Cherry Bomb by The Runaways. She likes Lil Peep.
Curie: Soldier, Poet, King by The Oh Hellos. Yes, yes, I know it's a popular song because of the quiz but it just makes me think of her.
Codsworth: Just sticks to the classics, the typical Fallout music style. But his favorite is definitely I Don't Want To Set The World On Fire by The Ink Spots.
Paladin Danse: I don't care what you say I REFUSE to acknowledge the fact that he only likes country. Lady Macbeth In Chains by Sufjan Stevens and Angelo De Augustine. I just think he'd really like it.
Deacon: WAP by Megan Thee Stallion and Cardi B. Likes the soundcloud rappers, ironically.
Hancock: Likes soundcloud rappers, unironically. Would also listen to Megan Thee Stallion, but instead he branches out. His favorite is Tuned In Freestyle. Honestly though, really rocks with Labrinth.
MacCready: Surf Curse, 100%. His favorite is In My Head Till I'm Dead by Surf Curse, but also likes some other songs like Black Out Days by Phantogram.
Nick Valentine: His favorite song of all time is La vie en rose by only Louis Armstrong. Likes classical music more than anything. Refuses to listen to rap.
Piper: Definitely likes Current Joys and Lorde. Her favorite is A World Alone by Lorde. Sometimes listens to new music, but she prefers to stay with what she has.
Preston Garvey: Mr. Garvey my beloved, I know for a fact you listen to Mr Loverman by Ricky Montgomery and To Build A Home by Patrick Wilson late at night.
X6-88: Honestly, I think this guy would love phonk-style music. Like Lost by Crim3s. Sole made him listen to Cpr by cupcakKe once. Never looked at them the same after that.
EXTRA
Elder Maxson: Unashamedly listens to Viva la Vida by Coldplay on repeat.

Soda Stereo
Before the day ends, I want to pay homage to Gustavo Cerati...
Do you all remember when Jin went to Argentina to sing The Astronaut with Coldplay?
youtube
In this same concert, Coldplay covered some songs by Soda Stereo.
So Soda Stereo is one of the most influential pop/rock bands of Argentina and Latin America, led by the musical genius, Gustavo Cerati. Their songs are iconic.
Tumblr media
When Cerati died on the 4th of September in 2014, after being in a coma for 4 years, his passing was felt all over Latin America. For 4 years, we all waited for him to get better until it was announced that he had passed.
I was in my car in the school parking lot when I found out. I cried and mourned for weeks.
Tumblr media
He was absolutely brilliant. A true musical genius. Eccentric as hell. He thrived on that stage. There was something about him. His artistry. The way he performed and remained true to himself. To his whole self. I'm in awe still. Always will be.
Tumblr media
(Fun fact: He is also known as The Little Prince)
I still remember when I heard Persiana America, my favorite Soda Stereo song, for the first time on tv. I was 12 years old and it was a Sunday. And since google wasn't really a thing, I archived the lyrics and band name in my brain. I asked my piano teacher about them the next day and she had no clue what I was talking about!
Anyway, 2 of their most famous songs are called Musica Ligera and Persiana America.
Now, I don’t care for Coldplay but my respects to Chris Martin for taking the time to learn the song in Spanish and pay homage to Soda Stereo.
I can't imagine how Argentinians in the crowd felt listening to the songs. Feeling this giant electric field in the air with the same vibe. Hearing hundreds of people sing the lyrics of the songs they grew up with.
Someone made a mashup of old concert footage with Soda Stereo and Coldplay. It's pretty cool to see Cerati and Coldplay on the "same frequency":
youtube
And one of my top favorite songs:
youtube
Ahh to think that Jin got to witness all this! It is iconic. The stuff that dreams are made of.
Bonus: My favorite rendition of Persiana America:

I'm looking forward to your reviews on their individual albums/music etc
Okay, I will tell you as long as everyone promises to be nice!
First, I want to be upfront with the fact that I do not have the technical knowledge required to critique their individual singing or songwriting skills in depth, so this is not that kind of review. However, I believe that people should actively engage with art, be it music, painting, or writing, at whatever level of expertise they may have, rather than consume it mindlessly. The following are my personal opinions and observations as a fan since 2015. I will focus mainly on their Chapter Two individual works, but I will also reference their previous solo and group work. And as a friendly reminder, the members of BTS are not above criticism as artists or as people.
"Indigo" by RM
If I had to use one word to describe this album, I would use "growth." More specifically, I would classify the transition from "RM" to "mono." as linear growth, and the transition from "mono." to "Indigo" as exponential growth. This is a project that Namjoon worked on for several years, which is apparent by the way each song is like a chapter of the same overarching story. The diverse genres and moods depict the ups and downs of life really well, and listening to the entire album in one sitting is a cathartic experience for me.
When I first saw the tracklist and noticed how many other artists were featured, I was nervous because a lot of BTS' collaborations feel like forcing a puzzle piece into a spot where it doesn't fit. What I mean by that is, they either cut out a chunk of the original song or insert a blank space and then fill it with a clipping of what sounds like an entirely different song. A substitution rather than a collaboration, if you will. However, that was not the case here. I think Namjoon did an excellent job of blending his own sound, style, and emotion with that of the other artists.
The only thing that I actively disliked on this album is the beat in "Change pt.2" from about 0:49 to 1:00. It's grating on the ear, which might have been intentional given the content of the song, but it isn't pleasant to listen to, and I cringe every time I hear it. As for a favorite, I can't really choose, but I think the objective number of replays would point to "Lonely."
"The Astronaut" by Jin
This one is an outlier because it's only one song, but I will discuss it just the same. I really liked Seokjin's voice in this one. I don't know the official terms, but it's lower and less breathy than usual. To me, that makes his voice sound warmer. Overall, this was a soothing song that left me wanting more when he gets back. I am waiting (im)patiently.
P.S. I know people tend to love or hate Coldplay. I don't listen to them or know anything about them as people, so the fact that this was cowritten by them doesn't really factor into my opinion of the song, if that makes sense.
"D-DAY" by Agust D
The amount of money I spent to see him live in Chicago should tell you how much I liked this album. Similar to what I said about Namjoon above, there's tangible growth from his mixtapes "Agust D" and "D-2" to his studio album "D-DAY." It's to be expected that experience will improve the craft, of course, but I still have to say it.
Yoongi is my favorite composer of BTS, by far. "Interlude: Dawn" and "Snooze" give me goosebumps every time I listen time them. Also, I love it when he uses traditional instruments like the haegeum. There's just something about the emotions he conveys in his tone, lyrics and melody that made this album a nonstop repeat for me.
My complaints are few and small. The autotune gets to be too much in the song "D-Day," and I'm not crazy about "People Pt. 2." Personally, I am not a fan of IU's voice. I have nothing against her, by any means, and I know she can sing, but I prefer women with deep, husky voices. And for the life of me, I can't figure out what her part means. I'm guessing this was a direct translation from Korean that didn't really...well, translate.
"Jack in the Box" by j-hope
When I first watched the MV for "More," I stimmed for joy. I was rocking, flapping, and squealing. I braved Lollapalooza as an autistic person, surrounded by a hundred thousand people in the summer heat, wearing the denim jacket I painted and an N95 mask to hear this man live. Hoseok's personality shone through in the concept, the MVs, the music, and the lyrics. He burst out of the box to show who he is as an artist. Perhaps I am (Hobi-)biased, but I don't have much else to say other than that I love this album, and I'm excited to hear more from him in the future.
"FACE" by Jimin
"Set Me Free Pt. 2" was the first single that was released, and it thoroughly crushed my hopes for the rest of the mini album. Though I liked the melody of the chorus, the 9 repetitions of "set me free-e-e" left a lot to be desired lyrically. I think he was trying to portray the desperation he felt by repeating the phrase, but his voice didn't show a progression in emotion as he continued through the chorus. For comparison, in Rage Against the Machine's "Killing in the Name Of," the last line "fuck you, I won't do what you tell me" is repeated 16 times, but the way it starts as a murmur and builds up to a scream is powerful; it hits you in the chest. "Set Me Free Pt. 2" didn't have that effect. Also, the autotune in the middle when he "raps" is awful. I saw people on here reaching to explain why the autotune wasn't actually that bad, but...it just doesn't sound good. And him saying "fuck all your opps"? Yikes.
The other single "Like Crazy" was much better and more in line with what I was expecting. Rarely do I like any of the excessive remixes they put out, but the deep house one is actually good. I liked the music video, too. But unfortunately, the mud on his hand after all that bathroom imagery was a...shitty decision. Overall, I don't go out of my way to listen to any of the songs but "Like Crazy" and "Letter," which is my favorite.
"Layo(v)er" by V
I was underwhelmed by this mini album. I expected R&B and jazz from him, and I think his voice suits those genres well, but none of the songs had a particularly strong impact on me. I would say I like "Love Me Again" the most, but it doesn't even compare to "Singularity" and "Stigma" for me. I have to be in a specific mood to listen to slow music in general, so the odds were stacked against this album from the beginning.
"Golden" by Jung Kook
This album was the biggest disappointment I have ever felt as a fan. Honestly, I didn't think it could get any worse than "Permission to Dance," but I was wrong. Before I continue, I feel like I need to offer some context on my general opinion of BTS' music from 2020 onward before I get too deep into the weeds. So let me start with that.
A lot of people think BTS peaked before or during the "Wings" era and sold out with the release of "DNA." I am not one of those people. Most of my favorite BTS songs come from the "Love Yourself" and the "Map of the Soul" eras. There are songs that tug on my heartstrings, songs that give me energy, and songs that are inextricably tied to certain memories from college and my first job. This was when I felt like I was changing and growing in a positive way thanks to BTS' message and music.
That changed with Covid-19. I loved "Map of the Soul: 7" and had tickets to see BTS in Chicago, but then the concert was postponed. Later, it was canceled. Half a year into the pandemic, BTS released "Dynamite" as a fun summer song to lift everyone's spirits. It was their first all-English song, which might've had more global appeal due to the number of people who speak English as a first language, second language, or lingua franca. Personally, I don't hate "Dynamite," but I do hate what it led to.
This was their first Billboard #1. It succeeded far beyond anyone's expectations, and I was proud of them for that. I was glad that more people were checking out their music because BTS is one of my main special interests. However, a lot of what followed felt like an attempt to recreate the success of "Dynamite" rather than an effort to grow as artists. Whether that desire for numbers came from the company or from BTS themselves, I'll never know. All I can say is, I'm glad DynaButterPTD did not get a Grammy. Let's continue.
"BE" came next, and if I had to describe it in a word, I would say "homemade." BTS were more involved in this album than any other, including the concept, the album design, the photoshoots, the music video, and the songs. Because of that, the overall vibe was different, and combined with the effects of the pandemic, the album gave me the feeling that the members of BTS were struggling with who they were as a group, as artists, and as people.
This continued into "Butter" and "PTD," two more all-English songs, and various collaborations of the puzzle-piece-that-doesn't-fit variety I mentioned above. It was an identity crisis. I can't think of another way to describe it. Eventually, BTS decided for themselves that they had to take a step back, spend some time alone, and regroup later. I was both sad and relieved to hear the news. Releasing "PROOF" was a good way to look back on what they'd accomplished so far and put an end to Chapter 1.
That brings us to Chapter 2. More specifically, "Golden." Now, I love Jungkook. Spend 5 minutes scrolling through my blog, and that much will be obvious. But this album was not it for me. First, I want to make it clear that the members of BTS can sing in whatever language they so choose. Having said that, I do tend to prefer their songs that are entirely in Korean or are a mixture of Korean and English. Why? Emotion.
BTS' all-English songs tend to be written by other people, and those people tend to be the ones who write the same bland, unoriginal songs for overrated American/Canadian/British pop singers. Although Jungkook sings the English lyrics of this album with excellent pronunciation and technique, it doesn't have the magnitude of emotion in songs that he participated in writing, such as "Your Eyes Tell," which is in Japanese and English.
I don't know a lot about song credits, but I've noticed the following pattern: the more the members' names show up in the credits, the more I like the song. Looking at the credits for Golden? Jungkook's name isn't listed on a single song. That isn't necessarily a bad thing. A lot of wonderful singers all around the world can take a song that is given to them and make it their own by contributing their own talent, their own voice. But frankly, Jungkook didn't do that with these songs. I didn't want to say it, but...these are Justin Bieber songs. Especially "Too Sad to Dance," which is nearly indistinguishable from Justin Bieber's "Love Yourself."
On episode 21 of Suchwita, Jungkook said he recorded five songs in a week, which amounted to one song per day in a 3-hour session, give or take. Yoongi said that was a sign of unbelievable growth, and for comparison, Taehyung said it takes him 3 days to record one song. If I remember correctly, Namjoon worked on "Indigo" for 3 years. So, it's really no wonder why this album is the music equivalent of fast fashion.
I've already talked about how much I hated "Seven" (the song and the MV) in other posts, I can't do it again. Jack Harlow's part in "3D" makes me gag. I can't take the lyrics for "Shotglass of Tears" seriously. I mean, "she the life of the party...42 in her body...tell me, am I ever gon' feel again?" Yikes! "Closer" is generic runway music. "Yes or No" is tolerable. The only song I really liked is "Standing Next to You." I'm just disappointed. I don't have anything else to say.

Solavellan Playlist + Song Explanation
So this is mostly a lil compilation thing for me that I’ve wanted to do but I figured some folks might find it interesting! This will probably be quite a long post so after the first couple songs I will put it under a read-more. I’m also making two parts since this is A Lot and I don’t want to post walls of text lol.
To start, here is the playlist I’ve put together :) Tis Spotify. I’ll preface with the fact that this entire playlist is an attempt to chronologically catalog the Solavellan relationship, and I especially think of the songs from the Inquisitor’s perspective as being from my own Inky’s POV.
1. Lost Elf Theme – Trevor Morris
Though this song plays at the end of Trespasser - and even plays after the Dark Solas Theme - I feel like this song encompasses both the beginning and end of Solas’ journey in Inquisition/Trespasser. He awakes in an entirely new world, centuries apart from everything and everyone he knew. He is, quite literally, a lost elf. Beyond that, the song seems to have some small motifs from the Thedas Love Theme, which is especially heartbreaking as a Lavellan romancing Solas.
2. Six – Sleeping At Last
What would it feel like
To put this baggage down?
If I'm being honest
I'm not sure I'd know how
Fear won't go away
But I can keep it at bay
These invisible walls
Just might keep us safe
These were the lines that drew me to this song first as a Solas POV song. He is very clearly a man on a mission from the get-go, still so torn up inside over what has been done to his people by the Evanuris as well as himself – but knowing that he needs to push forward and bottle all of that up if he is to succeed in righting the wrong he caused with the Orb.
3. Viva la Vida – Coldplay
I used to rule the world
Seas would rise when I gave the word
Now in the morning, I sleep alone
Sweep the streets I used to own
One minute, I held the key
Next, the walls were closed on me
And I discovered that my castles stand
Upon pillars of salt and pillars of sand
So I know Solas/Fen’Harel was never technically a king, nor even really a god (as far as he has told us, that is). But these lines as well as the general vibe of this song just fit him so well - he never wanted to be “king”, never wanted to have to close off the Fade, or lie to those in the Inquisition. But he felt he must.
4. I’m With You – Avril Lavigne
Isn't anyone tryin' to find me?
Won't somebody come take me home?
It's a damn cold night
Trying to figure out this life
Won't you take me by the hand?
Take me somewhere new
I don't know who you are
But I, I'm with you
I'm with you
Ilaera is thrust into the Inquisition suddenly after the events at the Conclave. She had expected to discover information for her clan, and return home to hopefully be made First. But the anchor and Corypheus derailed her life entirely. Her one comfort in the whirlwind of the early days of the Inquisition was Solas. A fellow mage and elf, she would stand outside his small hut at Haven for hours listening to his stories and musings, when he would let her. I think this song is a good representation of her growing attachment to him, when she was first falling for him.
5. Heart’s A Mess – Gotye
Let me in
Where only your thoughts have been
Let me occupy your mind
As you do mine
Your heart's a mess
You won't admit to it
It makes no sense
But I'm desperate to connect
And you, you can't live like this
I envision this song as Ilaera pleading with Solas quietly to just let her in. Especially after the move to Skyhold and their subsequent meeting/kiss in the Fade, he still continues to hold her at arms length, acting friendlier with her than the others perhaps, but not allowing himself to get any closer. At the time, of course, Ilaera doesn’t know why he’s acting that way, so it’s hard not to feel just a little hurt by his ignoring of the moment they had shared.
6. Drumming Song – Florence + The Machine
There's a drumming noise inside my head
That starts when you're around
I swear that you could hear it
It makes such an almighty sound
As I move my feet towards your body
I can hear this beat, it fills my head up
And gets louder and louder
It fills my head up and gets louder and louder
At this point, just before Solas and the Inquisitor embark on his mission to rescue his spirit friend, she is consumed by her feelings for him, especially now that they seem to be either unrequited or that Solas is unwilling to act upon them. Every mission in the field, every late night at Skyhold, even her dreams are filled with thoughts of him. She puts on a calm exterior now that she has been appointed Inquisitor, but on the inside she’s burning for him, and I think this song reflects that perfectly.
7. Who Knows – Avril Lavigne
How do you always have an opinion?
And how do you always find
The best way to compromise?
We don't need to have a reason
We don't need anything
We're just wasting time
I think there's something more
Life's worth living for
Find yourself
'Cause I can't find you
Be yourself
Who are you?
Solas has returned from his time spent mourning, and has told Ilaera that he could hardly abandon her now - that she had been a true friend in doing what she could to help the spirit. He seems changed, however - softer, more open. This song reflects the hope that occurs just before their trist on the balcony - I feel like the Inquisitor can sense his resolve about their relationship here. But she also wants him to stop wasting time deliberating, and to figure himself out before continuing anything.
8. Two – Sleeping At Last
Sweetheart, you look a little tired
When did you last eat?
Come in and make yourself right at home
Stay as long as you need
Tell me, is something wrong?
If something's wrong, you can count on me
You know I'll take my heart clean apart if it helps yours beat
…
I don't even know where to start
Already tired of trying to recall when it all fell apart
I just want to love you, to love you, to love you well
I just want to learn how, somehow, to be loved myself
This song can be from either perspective, though I enjoy thinking of it as a Solas song for the most part. For a brief time he is fully committed to Ilaera, thinking that perhaps he can find a way to live in this world and accept it the way it is, Veil intact. He would likely be especially doting during this time, trying to take care of his vhenan, but not quite knowing how to let her do the same in return.
9. arms – Christina Perri
I never thought that You would be the one to hold my heart
But you came around
And you knocked me off the ground from the start
You put your arms around me
And I believe that it's easier for you to let me go
You put your arms around me and I'm home
This song is an interesting one. Half of it can be from Lavellan’s perspective, as in the stanza above (also… the first three lines are also from MY perspective, lol. I did NOT expect Solas to be who I liked most from the Inquisition romance options). But later in the song you can view it from Solas’ perspective, since it goes on to lament not being able to open up so easily - especially with the line I’ll never let a love get so close.
10. Cosmic Love – Florence + The Machine
I took the stars from my eyes, and then I made a map
And knew that somehow I could find my way back
Then I heard your heart beating, you were in the darkness too
So I stayed in the darkness with you
At this point in the playlist I just started adding a couple love songs without complete direction, though I think this stanza is fitting for Solavellan. I like to think that they had at least a few months of happiness before the scene at Crestwood…
11. Good Enough – Evanescence
Under your spell again
I can't say no to you
Crave my heart and it's bleeding in your hand
I can't say no to you
Shouldn't let you torture me so sweetly
Now I can't let go of this dream
I can't breathe but I feel
Good enough
Above everything else, Solas has always been someone Ilaera admired, even looked up to in terms of magical knowledge and practice. And with his hesitancy after their kiss in the Fade, it’s not hard to see why she would feel a bit “less than” in their relationship once it began in earnest. I think at this point in their journey, though, she would finally feel good enough - to consider herself his equal, if not in strength or power or knowledge than emotionally. And she can only dream that he feels the same.
12. Thedas Love Theme – Trevor Morris
This marks the halfway point on the playlist as well as their relationship - though I’m putting it as the signifier for the Crestwood scene. It may be the last scene we get of them in the main game (until after Corypheus is defeated, though that’s not exclusively a romance scene), but due to Trespasser, it’s only half of their story. That scene is also the first time the Inquisitor is able to tell Solas she loves him - albeit in a desperate attempt to get him to change his mind and stay with her. I think it’s a fitting transition for the next half of their story and the playlist, however!
If you read all of this, thank you for reading my ramblings and probably way too detailed thoughts on this ship lmao, I am clearly deep in my feelings about it. I will do another one of these posts soon for the second half of the playlist, which will be all angst and yearning and anger! Hehe.

hello! I have been obsessed with the lighting-up-holy-oil-in-the-hollow-of-angel-wing-bones concept for torture since I read that particular fic of yours. It's delicious and I think about it SO often. So question: how'd you come up with that?
SO glad that you enjoyed that concept, fellow angst lover :)
Angel wings having hollows in them like bird wings is an idea I've been rotating in my mind for a while now. I remember a few months back I was ranting to angelfishofthelord about Cas trying to make sure he never loses any of his memories to Naomi again, and how horrifically cool it would be if Cas did things like snap his wings and hide notes to himself in the hollows of his bones where she would never think to find them (until, unfortunately, she does).
That fic (Safe and Sound, if anyone's curious) was ofc written for angelfish's birthday. Initially I wanted to gift her a different fic, but it didn't end up working out, and by that point there were like two days until her birthday, so I had to root through the depths of my brain for old fics ideas in order to get something written in time.
One of those old ideas was a scene that I had been wanting to write for a long time: Cas begging Sam not to look at him after his wings have been forced out because Sam doesn't know how violating it is for Cas. But I still needed something for the fic to build up to, aka, the torture that makes Cas snap and Sam comforting him afterward.
I was sort of pressed for time, so I decided to go with the iconic torture method for angels: holy oil. But I wanted to make it a bit more unique and memorable than just "the captors throw holy oil onto Cas" (even if that trope is both fun to read and extremely traumatic for Cas all on its own). So I was thinking about old fic ideas, and my brain sort of stumbled across my old ideas about angel wing bones being hollow, and then suddenly it clicked and my brain went "hey, you know what would be really angsty...?"
In that moment when I first thought of the idea, I actually did plan for the holy oil to be lit on fire, but I realized about .3 seconds after I actually started writing it that maybe it was a bit too angsty, especially for a birthday fic lmao. (Also, I listened to a million songs while trying to find a good title for the fic; as I was listening to Coldplay's 'Fix You', I heard the lyric "ignite your bones" and almost died ahdkjfaskfhs. I was very tempted to make that the fic title but didn't end up following through).
And there have been some very kind and amazing people in the comments of that fic who informed me of some practical aspects of that torture idea that I wasn't aware of, including:
1) that bones have their own pain receptors that feel pain more intensely and for a longer period of time than muscle pain receptors, which would make Cas' wing bones being lit on fire excruciating even if the holy fire didn't burn through his bones and ignite his actual skin and muscle
2) that birds actually use the hollows of their bones as a part of their respiratory system to store oxygen
And this next part is slightly off topic, but I made a post a while back about how if an angel were to actually manifest their wings, it would probably kill them because their human heart wouldn't be able to efficiently pump blood throughout their entire body with the addition of two large appendages to their circulatory system (although this depends on whether an angel's Grace is strong enough to compensate, I suppose). But now I'm thinking about number 2 above,, if maybe angel wings are designed for them to be able to store oxygen in their wings while in vessels to keep their vessel's hearts from exerting themselves trying to pump oxygen-rich blood to the angel's manifested wings, and about how this would affect Cas after getting holy oil dumped into the hollows of his wing bones--

Hi! Would it be possible if I could please get a ship match for the Pacific please? Here’s some info about me.
I’m a bisexual woman (I have a preference for men), my pronouns are she/her. I have curly red hair, blue eyes, and am 5’5”. I’m currently studying history and absolutely love it. Generally speaking I’m funny, kind, empathetic, curious, and creative. Generally I’m introverted, but I can be social. I can get very anxious and have PTSD sometimes, mainly about my health (I had a major scare with my brain last year, so now I can get overwhelmed quite easily). I’m still healing from that event and am usually in some form of pain. In my free time I like to watch tv shows/YouTube, crochet, baking, research historical events, listen to music, reading, and play video games. I’m a Scorpio sun, Gemini moon, and Virgo rising. I’m also an isfp, and a hufflepuff (idk if that stuff helps). I love DC comics and Marvel, but mainly DC. I do need out sometimes and go on rants about history or comic books. I enjoy helping my friends and family with their issues, I’m the mom friend. My love language is physical touch and words of affirmation.
hey babe! thanks for submitting!
I ship you with:
Tumblr media
Hoosier Smith from The Pacific!
ship theme song: Something Just Like This by The Chainsmokers and Coldplay
this dude will respect the shit outta you!
mark my words ;)
first of all: he thinks you're perfect
way too smart for him!
I feel like y'all would be too dang cute in some "fake dating -> lovers" trope
don't hate lol
it's probably when y'all are both stationed in Australia together
and some embarrassing dude from his platoon keeps asking you out
so Hoosier really steps up to the plate by slipping his arm around your torso at one of the bars in Melbourne one night
even though he'd been aching to do that for a really long time
he's amazed by your hair and its shape and texture
lets be real: men just love curls!
they're fun to play with, what can i say
he's so impressed by your ability to keep so much history knowledge in your brain
and recall it all so quickly!
Hoosier is very much an introvert
poor buddy just gets drained by people so fast
but with you, it's so easy to relax and let loose
his heart swells with pride at your curiosity and creativity
he loves when your crystalline blue eyes light up when you're rattling off history facts at him
you also share the same type of humor!
he's guaranteed to make you laugh at even the smallest things
sometimes he'll be like "lol ok grandma"
whenever you whip out your crochet needles
but he means it only jokingly
he loves receiving crocheted scarves and mittens from you during the holidays <3
this man is the King of YouTube surfing
he could play video games with you for hours
if you made this man a playlist, he would secretly play it all the time with his headphones on
speaking of secrets!
this man also loves DC and Marvel but he won't admit it
Chuckler kept going on about the comics every night on Guadalcanal
so Hoosier picked it up from him
I'm 99% sure Hoosier is ISTP
so that balances out your ISFP!
Hoosier very much wants to be there for you when you are battling your ptsd
even if it means just enveloping you in a warm hug
this man is going to do his very best to be what you need <3

Character Theme/Intro Songs
I was tagged by @writingently to share the songs that would play when my OCs enter a scene! Since only William has shown up so far in Only Human, I'm only going to do him from that WIP, but I'll also do The Stories Beneath the Stars. Which is actually going to be a lot of characters. I'm going to be nice and put this under a read more actually, and put my tags up here.
Tagging @blind-the-winds @calicojackofficial and @midnight-and-his-melodiverse
Only Human
William: Touch Tone Telephone by Lemon Demon. I actually literally came up with the original concept of Only Human by listening to a mash up of Touch Tone Telephone and Bubblegum Bitch that someone made on YouTube and yes I will share that link if anyone wants it. He popped into my mind almost exactly as is immediately. The other half? Well, went through a lot of revisions and I actually don't know if Bubblegum Bitch fully fits anymore, but hey! That's the fun part of writing with such an out there inspiration.
The Stories Beneath the Stars
Callisto: Love Like You, specifically Caleb Hyles' cover of it. This one is a little harder to explain, and really, specifically more of his inner thoughts than anything. This one really reflects how he feels about himself. He's got an image and way of being that he so desperately wants, but he doesn't feel like he can actually reach that goal. Bellamy: Stereo Hearts by Gym Class Heroes. Bellamy is just the kind of person who loves and loves some more, and even if they get hurt in the process, they're not going to stop being open to loving others. They're just that kind of person, you know? Milian: Margaritaville by Jimmy Buffet. Listen. This poor middle aged dwarf just wants to be sure he can retire. He dreams of just finding a nice home to put his feet up. He's willing to do the work first, and adopt these youngins along the way, but he just wants to relax. And @crowsnest-creations was an enabler for me to make his playlist Like That. Crag: Rats by Ghost. I don't have a good excuse for this one. She's an anthropomorphized rat lady and a barbarian ready to smash some teeth in. So she gets the song called rats that's based on the black plague. Clotilde: Live to Fight Another Day by The Cog is Dead. Honestly, the title of the song is kind of her motto. She's been through a lot, but she absolutely refuses to do anything but keep on living. Fate: A Sky Full of Stars by Coldplay. Honestly, I don't really have a good reason for this one other than the fact that they're a cleric to the god of the stars, and that's the only thing they remember about their life, being an amnesiac. Garvan: This man dragon has been so hard to make a playlist for that picking one song for him is just impossible. I don't want to leave him out, but I can not actually justify any song. I think the closest I could get is Mama by My Chemical Romance, but the vibes just aren't right enough. Aeronwen: Godhunter by Aviators. It could be argued that this is the theme song of the entire WIP, which it is, but I feel like Aeronwen embodies it the best. She doesn't care what it takes, she's determined to be a force for justice in her world. And if that means going to the edges of the continent in search of the source of her world's troubles, she'll do it. Narcisa Cindergrip: Play With Fire by Sam Tinnesz. Narcisa is someone who's always metaphorically liked to play with fire, diving into the magically dangerous. On top of that, her family is named for the unique fire magic they wield.

@gem-femme tagged me to do top ten musical artists with gifs!! thanks gem! :D
My approach to music is more "songs I've picked up along the way" than anything else, cause my autism (sensory issues plus routines) means I have to do music A Certain Way, so I don't really listen to many specific artists, nor do I really know much about the guy behind the music. This top ten is also in no particular order, just me scrolling through my itunes library and picking out musicians that I listen to a lot. Also, all gifs are related to the Vibe of the music. Sometimes that's the artist, sometimes it's unrelated!
Avicii
Tracy Chapman
Coldplay
Ghost and Pals
Halsey
Jack Stauber
Keyes.
Lindsey Stirling
Porter Robinson
TheFatRat
1. Avicii - There's just such a raw heart to Avicii music. Also, it's stimmy as fuck. True is one of my favorite albums ever, I just love the way he blended country and techno. It slaps.
Tumblr media
2. Tracy Chapman - Fast Car is one of my top comfort songs of all time.
Tumblr media
3. Coldplay - Paradise and Viva La Vida fundamentally shaped me as a human being. Also I really liked the Minecraft parodies of them. [C418 and Lena Raine also get honorable mentions here for the Minecraft soundtrack.]
Tumblr media
4. Ghost and Pals - I LOVE what Ghost does with their vocaloids! Entomologist and Amygdala's Ragdoll are two of my favorites.
Tumblr media
5. Halsey - her debut album was an Awakening for me as a child. Especially new Americana.
Tumblr media
6. Jack Stauber - I love Weird Shit, especially Weird Music. Shop! A Pop Opera is my favorite musical work of his, but Rain is my favorite overall. [honorary mention for Lemon Demon here, I also like that shit]
Tumblr media
7. Keyes. - You might know him as cattail ME WANT BITE guy, but he's got a bunch of other little pieces of music. They're all so earnest and they all crack me up. Gef the Talking Mongoose (yes, the same Gef that Lemon Demon's Eighth Wonder is about) is my favorite!
Tumblr media
8. Lindsey Stirling - She's the reason that, at maybe eight years old, I was convinced that classical music didn't have to be boring. I adore the way she combines violin and techno beats. Crystalize is a favorite of mine, because that's how I found her!
Tumblr media
9. Porter Robinson - Shelter's music video broke me. The whole thing is adorable and made me cry like a baby. The team behind it put in so much though too--the girl here (she's the main character of it) is named after the anime studio director's daughter so all the animators loved her.
Tumblr media
10. TheFatRight - all of his music is free to use for creators! Which makes me so happy! Plus, it's all gorgeous. Monody is my favorite :)
Tumblr media
Thanks soso much for tagging me Gem!! Here's my tags: @ruthlesslistener, @vivifrage, @spotsupblaze, @wyrmrrow, @y4rdbird, @grollow, @actingwithportals and anyone else!!!!

May Week Two-Week Four Albums.
May 9th: New Again, Taking Back Sunday
familiarity: we are now entering the territory of TBS albums that I have not heard yet
favorite(s) before listen: N/A
favorite(s) after listen: New Again, Summer, Man;  Swing, Where My Mouth Is, Cut Me Up Jenny, Capital M-E, Carpathia, Everything Must Go
May 10th: Taking Back Sunday, Taking Back Sunday
familiarity: happy birthday to me! we’re breaking into the self-titled album today.
favorite(s) before listen: N/A
favorite(s) after listen: Faith (When I Let You Down), Sad Savior, Since You’re Gone
May 11th: Happiness Is, Taking Back Sunday
familiarity: Funnily enough, when I was studying abroad in Ireland back in 2014, I checked in on TBS and - instead of checking out all the albums in between this one and the last one i remembered - i jumped straight to this one. don’t regret it! this album feels like a slight turn from their older stuff, but it was a direction i really enjoyed and it reminds me of long, evening walks around the University of Limerick’s campus.
favorite(s) before/after listen: Flicker, Fade; Stood a Chance, Beat Up Car, It Takes More, Better Homes and Gardens, Like You Do, Nothing At All
standout lyric: the bridge and outro of “Flicker, Fade” is [chef’s kiss]
May 12th: Tidal Wave, Taking Back Sunday
favorite(s) before listen: N/A
favorite(s) after listen: Homecoming, I Felt It Too, Call Come Running, I’ll Find A Way To Make It What You Want
May 13th: Dance Fever, Florence + The Machine
familiarity: [bangs on pots and pans] new Florence album!! NEW FLORENCE ALBUM!!!
favorite(s) before listen: N/A
favorite(s) after listen: King, Free**, Choreomania, Girls Against God, Dream Girl Evil, Cassandra, Heaven is Here, Daffodil, My Love
standout lyric: the bridge of Free, my friends. that’s what it feels like to be a creator of any media of art. that’s just the meaning of life right there.
May 14th: Monsters, The Midnight
familiarity: discovered The Midnight through Julien Solomita. he uses their song “Good in Red” a lot on his streams, and I would highly suggest their Horror Show EP. it’s an album for driving at dusk with the windows down. figured, since I enjoyed it so much, might as well check out an album!
favorite(s) before listen: N/A
favorite(s) after listen: ((gonna be honest with you. i am filling each of these days out right now and i usually like the songs that i like the most on spotify so that i remember but i don’t have any liked on this album. but i remember enjoying this album so i think i just thought the whole album was a vibe overall. maybe, someday, if i have an extra hour, i’ll relisten and update this with specific songs but...until then...I’ll just give it a thumbs up!))
May 15th: Preacher’s Daughter, Ethel Cain
familiarity: No familiarity with the artist but I ran into a tiktok on my fyp that included a snippet from the scream in Ptolemaea and I was like,”Sign me up!”
favorite(s) before listen: N/A
favorite(s) after listen: American Teenager, A House in Nebraska, Family Tree, Thoroughfare, Ptolemaea, Televangelism, Sun Bleached Flies, Strangers
standout lyric: "What I wouldn't give to be in Church this Sunday / Listening to the choir, so heartfelt, all singing / God loves you, but not enough to save you / So, baby girl, good luck taking care of yourself”
May 16th: Back of My Mind, H.E.R.
familiarity: I am going to see my favorite boys, Coldplay, on the 28th, so we are officially entering the preparation stretch of the month. H.E.R is one of Coldplay’s openers. Also, should be noted, I will be skipping the song on this album that features a certain abuser.
favorite(s) before listen: N/A
favorite(s) after listen: We Made It, Damage, I Can Have It All, Slide
notes: Since I am getting to these write-ups so late, to the point that the concert has come and gone, I can say that H.E.R was amazing on stage. This album was pure R&B, which I enjoyed, but she was up on stage, shredding on the electric guitar and playing the drums and just rocking out. Loved that style from her!
May 17th: FANDOM, Waterparks
familiarity: had an extra day in my concert preparation to slip in a random album. I know Waterparks from their song “I Miss Having Sex But At Least I Don’t Wanna Die Anymore”, a Scanlan Shorthalt anthem, but felt compelled to check out the rest of this album after hearing another song on a playlist. also, i gotta be real here. didn’t realize that this album came out in 2019. it has the vibe of the mid-00s emo/punk scene.
favorite(s) before listen: I Miss Having Sex But At Least I Don’t Wanna Die Anymore
favorite(s) after listen: I Miss Having Sex But At Least I Don’t Wanna Die Anymore, Watch What Happens Next, High Definition, Telephone, Turbulent, [Reboot]
May 18th: Gallows (Deluxe), DRAMA
familiarity: another one of Coldplay’s openers.
favorite(s) before listen: N/A
favorite(s) after listen: Barely Friends, Falling, Missing
May 19th: Parachutes, Coldplay
familiarity: ah, and here it begins, the album where my love for Coldplay began. I used to “steal” the CDs for this album and A Rush of Blood To The Head from my dad’s car and listen to them on our 5-CD boombox in the basement. I listened to “We Never Change” with all the wistful melancholy that a prepubescent child can possess.
favorite(s): Since I love Coldplay and they are My Boys™, I feel entitled to wax at length about my feelings on each album. because I have opinions. That being said, there are only two Coldplay albums that I consider to be true “No Skips” albums and Parachutes is very close...but not one of them. I would still highly recommend it to be listened to from start to finish. There’s no true “duds” on this album, just a couple songs that take some warming up to. While Yellow is, of course, a classic, I would pick a live version of it over the album recording any day. my personal favorite picks from this album are...Don’t Panic (one of their best and my favorite from this album), Shiver, Trouble, We Never Change, Everything’s Not Lost
standout lyric: "Oh, all that I know / There's nothing here to run from / ‘Cause yeah, everybody here's / Got somebody to lean on”
May 20th: Harry’s House, Harry Styles
familiarity: Taking a break from Coldplay to check out the new Harry Styles album
favorite(s) before listen: As It Was
favorite(s) after listen: As It Was, Music For a Sushi Restaurant, Late Night Talking, Little Freak, Matilda, Day Dreaming, Keep Driving, Satellite
standout lyric: not a lyric, but the outro to As It Was where, after the bridge, he brings in wedding bells...that shit changed me fundamentally
May 21st: A Rush of Blood to the Head, Coldplay
familiarity: remember when I said that I only have two Coldplay albums that I consider to be perfect? This is number #1 out of the 2.
favorite(s): There’s not a single song on this album that I would ever dare to skip. This album should be enjoyed front-to-back often and with reverence. Not only are these songs all amazing on the album recording, but this album is best known for having the most songs that are staples to Coldplay live performances to the point that I was disappointed when songs like In My Place and God Put a Smile upon Your Face were not included on the setlist for their current tour. That’s the problem with having a 20+ year discography. You can play a 2-hour long show and still not be able to fit in all your best hits. In particular, those two aforementioned songs MUST be enjoyed alongside their live versions. God Put a Smile upon Your Face, especially. I love this album so much that I even struggle to pick a favorite. I long dream of them embracing this sound again but, at the same time, you could never replicate this album..Just...You Gotta Listen To This Album. That is my platform. That is my truth.
standout moment: I think I’m gonna hand my honorable mention to the bridge of Politik. life-changing bridge. Also, See You Soon, a song from this era that was never officially released but has a live recording is one of my absolute underrated Coldplay songs. Highly recommend.
May 22nd: X&Y, Coldplay
familiarity: notoriously the most hated Coldplay album by Coldplayers. if someone names this album as their favorite, it’s one of the most surefire ways to out yourself as not really listening to Coldplay. that being said, this album holds a lot of sentimental value to me and, as such, I think quite a few songs that I love like Low and The Hardest Part would be scoffed at by more reasonable fans.
favorite(s): My favorite from this album is Swallowed in the Sea. It’s attached to be a very specific and personal childhood memory for me, and I am very protective of it. I think we all have a song like that. Which is to say, seeing it crop up on Fjorester playlists all throughout CR2? Drove me mad. How dare you reduce it to a simple love song when it means so much more than that!! Other notable mentions from this album are X&Y (listen, and listen close, the lyric is “YOU become my best friend” not “SHE become my best friend”. Coldplay uses gender neutral pronouns more often than not which is why they are beloved among the queer community, you fools!!) and A Message.
standout moment: When the bridge hits in A Message and Chris’ adds on, with absolute devastation and heartbreak, “And I love you, please come home” to the chorus lyrics. yeah. We should talk about it more.
May 23rd: Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends, Coldplay
familiarity: and here we have it -- the second perfect Coldplay album. I may be biased because this is the era where I saw them in concert for the first time and when I actually felt like I was a part of the Coldplayer community, but I think every song from this era -- Prospekt’s March and all the B-sides -- are worthy of praise as well. though I could take or leave most of the “remixes”. After X&Y, this album was a huge comeback for Coldplay. X&Y almost tore them apart, and every inch of this album is built on togetherness and love between four best friends who chose each other and the music they loved to make. Like A Rush of Blood to the Head, it has such a unique and distinct sound to it that, as much as I’d love to see it, I know that it’s not replicable.
favorite(s): My favorite from this album is 42, but my underrated favorite is Yes. Do the people know? Do they know that Yes is one of Coldplay’s sexiest and most sensual songs? Do they know? Also, the best version of Viva la Vida can be found on their live album, LeftRightLeftRightLeft, only now available on Spotify as of this year.
standout lyric: My standout lyric is actually gonna go to “Gravity, release me and don't ever hold me down / Now my feet won't touch the ground” from Life in Technicolor ii from the Proskept’s March EP. I can’t explain it; it’s just always meant a lot to me.
May 24th Mylo Xyloto, Coldplay
familiarity: Coldplay’s official entrance into the pop genre, and -- Damn, they did it with style. It was also the introduction the Xylo bands at concerts -- now a Coldplay staple. This is another album that has a lot of sentimental value to me. The first single, “Every Teardrop is a Waterfall”, came out the day of my high school graduation and it was also the day that we had to put down our childhood cat, Annie. The full album was released on the day that we had to put down our childhood dog, Ellie. It was an album that was there for me during a year where it felt like I was having to say goodbye to my whole childhood. This album also saw a huge boom in the Coldplay fandom on tumblr. It’s since died down, but those were fun days.
favorite(s): My favorite song from this album is Charlie Brown. You know when you’re at a concert and suddenly everything seems to slow as you look around at the thousands of people who are there with you? Confetti rains down around you. Every nerve in your body is buzzing. You are elated and bright-eyed. and every single person is experiencing the same moment as you. all of you, together. and you are just hit with a wave of total adoration and affection for every single one of them? Yeah, Chris Martin captured that feeling with the last 35 seconds of Charlie Brown in 2011, and I have never emotionally recovered. Honorable mentions go to Every Teardrop is a Waterfall, Hurts like Heaven, and Up With The Birds. Major Minus is also majorly underrated.
standout moment: when the instrumental shifts in Up With The Birds, and Chris sings “Might have to go, where they don't know my name / Float all over the world just to see her again”....yeah...i cry every time....
May 25th Ghost Stories, Coldplay
familiarity: ah, the divorce era. I honestly don’t have a lot to say about Ghost Stories. I see it as the yin to Mylo Xyloto’s yang. It was an intimate era -- quiet and subtle -- compared to the big, loud explosions of color that were the trademarks of MX. and, I think a lot of Coldplayers view it in the same way. It’s not an album for discussion and Opinions. it’s just an album for listening and nodding understandably.
favorite(s): My favorite song from this album is Oceans. When I went to see Coldplay live in 2016, our show got rained out, but they went out with a bang by playing A Sky Full of Stars. The energy in the stadium that night was and remains unmatched. To this day, 3 minutes and 3 seconds of ASFoS hits and I tear up....I just...love Coldplay so much...
standout lyric: “You’ve got to find yourself alone in this world” are the lyrics for the one and only tattoo that I am dead-set on getting one day
May 26th A Head Full of Dreams, Coldplay
familiarity: another notoriously hated album by Coldplay fans. which is a fact that I’m glad I found out much later because this album carried me through the worst years of my life. Coldplay really said “When you’re in pain, when you think you’ve had enough / Don’t ever give up” and I sobbed on the interstate, driving 70 mph, because I knew they were right.
favorite(s): Up&Up has my heart. It’s what hope sounds like to me. A Head Full of Dreams deserves to be used in some kind of cyperpunk/sci-fi media -- 1:50 and onwards? Perfect sci-fi ambience. I am in space. We are the universe and the universe is us. Birds is beloved amongst Coldplay fans, and for good reason. I also have a soft spot for Adventure of a Lifetime. It should also be noted that Everglow is only valid when it’s played live; the album recording is meh.
standout lyric: Gotta give it up to “When you’re in pain, when you think you’ve had enough / Don’t ever give up”
May 27th Everyday Life, Coldplay
familiarity: After the more pop-rooted sounds of the previous three albums, this album was a return to their more alternative sound -- with a lemon wedge of pop. In a lot of ways, this album listens to me like the culmination of all their previous eras. There’s elements of Parachutes, elements of A Rush of Blood to the Head, elements of It’s also the first album where Chris Martin let himself say ‘fuck’; we were all very happy for them.
favorite(s): My favorite song is Champion of the World. Honorable mention to Arabesque. The sax solo goes on just a little too long, but it’s otherwise perfect. I love any Coldplay song where they go a bit harder, dig a bit deeper with their sound, and Arabesque is definitely one of those songs. You also can’t go wrong with Sunrise, Trouble in Town, Orphans, Èkó, Everyday Life, and Old Friends.
standout lyric: when Chris sings “I guess we’ll be raised on our own then” in Orphans
May 28th Music of the Spheres, Coldplay
familiarity: It’s the day of the concert, and we have reached the most recent Coldplay album! This album is very hit-and-miss for me. Songs like Colortura and People of the Pride are easily two of the best amongst their entire discography, but they’re stuck on an album that feels very sparse and mid-tier. Out of all the albums that they’ve released before now, this one has felt the most incomplete and poorly executed. Coldplay always puts on a great show, but this album was truly saved by the graces of its best songs.
favorite(s): The moment Coldplay dropped that minute-or-so long trailer video for Music of the Spheres and I heard that snippet of People of the Pride, I was in love. The moment I heard People of the Pride on the album, I knew I needed to hear it live. The moment I heard it live, I lost my goddamn mind. People of the Pride is easily one of the best Coldplay songs, and it makes saying this album isn’t that great so hard lol. If Coldplay would just release an album that’s full of songs like God Put a Smile upon Your Face and People of the Pride, they would be unstoppable, and I believe this whole-heartedly in my heart and soul. Colortura is also a masterpiece. It’s over 10 minutes long, and it should be. When the music box instrumental starts at 5:34, I ascend to a higher plane of being. I was so disappointed that they took it off the setlist of the tour, but also I would have been sobbing in that stadium if they’d kept it. Honorable mention to Infinity Sign for immortalizing the “Olé Olé Coldplay” chant, which is the best Coldplay chant, and to Humankind. Biutyful won me over eventually, mostly because it comes right after People of the Pride and I listened to People of the Pride so much, but it’s mostly saved by Chris’ solo vocals at 2:12.
standout lyric: “We’re only human / But we’re capable of kindness / So they call us Humankind”. Also, the last 30 seconds of My Universe are the best part. I love when it just sounds like they’ve having fun.

hey there, this is nix! i'm sending you positive thoughts and hoping that the symptoms ease up soon 🧡 i admire your courage in opening about your struggles. you have a whole support system behind you here, and your health and happiness are important to us readers. i don’t have anything else to discuss at the moment, but i had this idea. what if we exchanged playlists or sets of songs we each consider favorites or just wanted the other to hear? i’m not sure if you've heard most of these songs (perhaps you have, given your wide knowledge of different genres), but i thought i’d recommend them for you to listen to:
⭐️ goodbye by the sundays
⭐️ hot rod by dayglow
⭐️ 97 avalon by charlie burg
⭐️ sparks by coldplay
⭐️ on and on by stephen bishop
⭐️ live and learn by the cardigans
⭐️ so far away by carole king
⭐️ two princes by spin doctors
⭐️ mardy bum by arctic monkeys
⭐️ tears dry on their own by amy winehouse
⭐️ good old-fashioned lover boy by queen
you can recommend some of your favorites as well. share with me the songs you love or think i'd enjoy 😊💝 take care!
Hey Nix! Thank you so much for the message – when I first read it last night, it really did make me tear up and even this morning, still a little teary and it’s all still very, very much appreciated. Thank you, truly, for saying that – it was scary to be open about the mental health stuff, as I normally don’t go beyond the ‘I have mental illness/am neurodivergent’ mention. I promise, my loves, I do medicate, I do the therapy, so things aren’t nearly as bad as they used to be, but I truly appreciate the support from all of you lovely constant readers. Messages and support like this truly mean the world to me, so again, thank you so much! I really loved your idea of exchanging playlists and I added all of these to a playlist that I’ll listen to on the way to work this morning. I know a few of the songs, but not all of them, so I’m so excited for the new ones (was also super excited to see the cardigans, arctic monkeys, and queen on there)! I have a hard time choosing favourites for anything, but I put together a mix down below, made it all pretty like, of things I’ve been listening to a lot lately and I hope whoever wants to listen to it will enjoy 😊

星期三!星期三会是什么体验,很好奇,蛮期待!
I have never been to a concert before! I thought I would never attend one in my life either. So this is gonna be the first! And there's a high chance that this is gonna be the last too!
And it's Coldplay!
There were lotsa reasons I never attended a concert:
We were just not financially capable.
The people I really wanted to hear performing are all dead! Frank Sinatra or 周璇 or 张露 or 白光 (okay, fine, 七大歌星那几条鸟啦)or the Andrew Sisters or Ella Fitzgerald etc? All dead! Having the chance to sing 天涯歌女 and 夜上海 along with 周璇 would have been nice, though.
Concerts are loud! And—
There are so many sounds! These are quite the tall orders for my ears to tolerate. They can hurt. But even if they are tolerable (as in, manage to be not-too-loud), the sheer number of ambient sounds can be quite overwhelming. I can't focus; I can't pay attention. You can argue that no one needs to be attentive to every single sound, and you'll be right. But I just... Uh... ...
A concert is a thing where you either feel like you've never belonged anywhere more than this moment... or feel painstakingly aware of being alone.
See, if you manage to become part of the crowd—like singing the songs together with everyone, having your heartbeat and breathing synchronized... They say it almost feels spiritual. A sort of unity. But we have no idea what that feels like. I think our faculties are missing the fundamental mechanism required, so no matter how hard we try to talk to people and socialize, at the end of the day, we can never be a part of anything. We're merely tangible ghosts, stuck on not knowing what it means to belong to these humans.
And that's a thing about crowds, innit? If you can't connect, you'll feel pretty lonely. Just because loneliness is an inevitable regularity for someone who can't connect to other people doesn't mean they will truly become accustomed to it. This means concerts, being a crowd activity, have the potential to exacerbate this situation...
IT'S COLDPLAY THOUGH?
They don't come to this everyone-skips-us-for-Singapore-and-Bangkok destination all the time! And this is quite possibly the only item on "The Lyi and Lyn's Joint Bucket List" that could ever be checked!
We made so many supposed promises and until now, goddamn none of this stuff came real. But this one item is actually within reach. I mean, the ticket we were getting was nearly 500 bucks. Made my teeth hurt from gritting but goddamn, it's within reach!
Also, Lyi may be my besto furrendo, but we don't share a lot of taste in music. I can tolerate her ATEEZ and assorted Korean stuff and she can tolerate my "Only World War II ghosts listen to this" shit, but genuine intersections in our taste are rare. That makes Coldplay even more important. Kinda happy my JJK agenda manages to create another intersection though!
She's been to so many concerts already, with all kinds of friends, but there was never one between us. I suppose there is no hardcoded "right or wrong" to the way "best friends" work, but denying your pal a milestone memory to commemorate the sheer durability of this friendship even though you can afford to create this memory? Bit of an ass, innit?
No relationships are unconditional. There are always conditions, whether people are cognizant of them or not. Didn't we already realize that a long time ago? Nourishing a relationship through forging happy memories is but one such condition.
Besides, everything is impermanent, innit? 500 bucks is impermanent. Any discomfort a concert might bring to me is impermanent. Any pleasure a concert might bring to me is impermanent. Coldplay as a band is impermanent. Our friendship is impermanent.
In the face of impermanence, what do I really want to be attentive to? The fear of painstaking loneliness in a large crowd experiencing union while you're painfully aware of being disconnected—
or the joy of experiencing a few exciting hours of life with a friend, while enjoying the sight of people, in general, having a great time?
That's not all. I'm excited just thinking about all sorts of stuff I'd get to observe about people! This is a new frontier. New setting. Wouldn't it be fun?!
I bet they are gonna sing their latest songs from the Music of the Spheres album (which I have no idea what those would be; didn't Past Us stop following their album drops after Mylo Xyloto because we just... aren't that ardent about artists? Even the ones we like). Oh, and the classic ones too, like Viva la Vida. And Clock, right?! I don't mind not getting to hear Strawberry Swing and Life in Technicolor II if Clock is on the list. Strawberry Swing is our comfort song, and he claimed to have no favorite beyond this. But I know you're lying! I know you always sing that one line from Clock. You know, "Am I part of the cure, or am I part of the disease?" I can hear you, dude. Even with the song in my ears!
---
Even before the concert, I'd already planned to visit That Mall. The one with that aesthetic bookstore of Japanese import, yet isn't Kinokuniya. I'm gonna spend hours there, I think! I hope I can find all 8 volumes of the Pluto manga. And then I hope the price isn't so high that I can't buy them all, and can only choose one. Because for sure it's the one with Atom on the cover. Hey, limit a person's choice, and this happens.
I wonder what other things should we check out?
I CAN'T WAIT TO THEN WALK FROM THE MALL TO THE STADIUM! YES, A LOVELY WALK! We'll pass by the area's really large park! TYhe route from the mall to the stadium is only 3km long though. It's so short. But still, it's great!
Oh. Is it normal to stay a bit and help clean the place up once the concert is over? Are there any hidden rules about concerts? I should probably ask someone who's been to plenty of concerts. Like Lyi. Or maybe Nova!

First of all please don't be sorry for not posting! Always put yourself first! It's okay to take breaks! Also I would suggest re-tapping into what made you want to start writing this fic? what motivated you at first?
I love how you do angst so even if it hurts I would like to see that! I really do love some jealousrry so maybe Cherry may mention a new 'friend' she meets somewhere like in a bookstore and she's gushing about how sweet they are! And of course she's oblivious that the friend likes her so it is something on the friends end! Also maybe they have their first full on argument idk how tbh lol ALSO since they technically had a call while she was drunk maybe they might have phone calls now... Idk i will eat anything up tbh!
Here are some lyrics from random songs so take as much or as little as you like<3 :
"And I found love where it wasn't supposed to be Right in front of me Talk some sense to me"
The scientist by Coldplay
"Guess I had my last chance And now this is our last dance You fell through the cracks in my hands Tell myself be stronger... And it's such a shame You'll always be the one who got away We both know that deep down you feel the same Hard to say it's over But I'm already someone else's"
Liability by lorde is so cherry coded to me
We'll Never Have Sex by Leith Ross
Nineteen by Hayley Williams
You sweet human being!!! You just made my day 💓💓💓💓Thank you so much! I‘ll definitely be listening to all of the songs! (I actually listened to the scientist on repeat while writing one of the chapters 🤭) Ohh I‘m always here for some jealousrry… it will definitely be included! I love you 💓

A little about me and this blog
Hello there, welcome to my little blog. Glad to have you here. My name is Leonie. I made this blog as a personal project. It's just a space for me to learn and grow and document my progress. I have struggled with social anxiety most of my life. Because of it, I ended up taking on the mantle of a People Pleaser. I spent so much time worrying about what I looked like through other people's eyes that I totally neglected my own feelings about myself. And when I wasn't out trying to please people, I spent all of my time hiding myself away. Away from the world and from prying eyes. Unfortunately, I've learned that this is incredibly counter-productive. So, I embarked on a journey to get to know and get comfortable with myself. And I'll continue to take baby steps to overcome my weaknesses and reintegrate myself into the world.
If you are someone who relates to this in any way, know that you are welcome here. I’d like to make this an interactive place. Not only to get to know myself but to get to know other people as well. Perhaps, we can learn about ourselves together. 🙂
