I'm taking phone photos of really good TVs when I house sit

I don't edit anything other than to crop it. The weird color differences that you see sometimes are because of the camera app focusing differently, it being a different phone, and/or it being a different TV

Here's an uncropped photo that turned out too blurry

The black bars are literally the top and bottom bars of the TV screen. So you can also see how badly I line up my shots sometimes. Some turn out too slanted to be used orz

And I have no idea if any overlays or blurs are actually something that exists in the frames of the movie or not. I got all the ones I'm using for this post by taking a video and then splitting it into frames with an app so I have no idea if either of those things caused it

I cleaned my GameToys 1:6 scale Sephiroth’s figure lower-eye-lids a bit further, once again. I know I could have just wiped the whole thing, but I am scared of re-repainting the irises. I have terribly shaky hands, and the way they are now is not too far off from what I want. They could be cleaner of course, as I said, my hands are shaky! I have tried all the tips for shaky hands people doing miniature re/paints, I have been an acrylic on canvas artist my whole life now. So, yes, that’s as good I can get. I am in-love with this figure nonetheless so, so much! My ultimate all-time favorite video game character is Sephiroth! That’s why I have so many dolls representing him (none of them will ever do him any justice, and I would adore a CC version that was accurate, but never happening). However, out of the box this figure was a huge disappointment. I know a lot of GT fan-boys didn’t mind the less than stellar paint apps on this figure out of box. However, for the cost, it was quite the letdown for me because HT figures are licensed and sometimes cost less than this one did but have much more precise and accurate paint apps. Not like I love HT, but they do have better paint apps in general, for what their figures retail for (no Japanese video game ones from them ever again, sadly or fortunately?).

Long rant longer, I am happy with him for now! I wish I could redo the lips and be satisfied with them as well. I removed a lot of the gloss, and they do look better (to me), but far from what I wanted them to look like. Not only are they uneven (due to my shaky freaking old-person hands!), but they are also a lot darker than I wanted them to be. I will attempt redoing those once again, another time. These are all repetitive extreme close-ups because I am “showing off” his newly cleaned lower eyelids, and there are a thousand photos of his, already in his full-set elsewhere. I was lazy to remove his body from his box (I don’t have display room for massive 1:6 figures right now, or any figure for that matter), to take photos of him on his default Sephiroth outfitted body.

I took these with my older than dust cell phone’s camera, because it takes more accurate photos (light, color, ambiance, shadows etc.) than my newer cell phone’s camera (with all and its fancier settings). However, the older one has trouble now not taking ultra-blurry photos. I also need a tripod for my cell phones. I was never into the idea of taking photos with my cell phone, so I never got one and the one for my camera won’t work. Unless I have an adaptor, and I am not sure which one will be more costly. I might “splurge” on one or the other, when I am feeling extra fancy. lol! DX

He had a while ago posted a full thing with some of the panels, but over app updates and whatnot, it's become unreadable due to it being one Long photo so it's super, super blurry lol

I put together a post here that's got them together in the best chronological order I could place ❤️ because Stjepan is such an amazing storyteller and I fucking adore his DC-Harley work sm, is top tier 😭

one of my many ongoing projects is moving my favorite photos onto the Day One app. i haven't gone through my google photos in forever & came across SO many photos that I have loved & forgotten about. it's been a super tedious process but it's crazy how seeing a photo will allow you to dive right back into the past like it happened just yesterday. some findings during that process:

my life literally was 'eat, sleep, rave, repeat' for YEARS. but make 'eat' interchangeable with 'drink' lol. going through those memories felt like a rollercoaster. i felt like i wasn't in control of anything during that phase and could barely anticipate the next sudden drop in life. side note, seeing these photos reminded me of my godlike party stamina back then lol. sometimes i wish i still had it but i think it's gone for a good reason now lol

this is going to sound conceited as hell but DAYUM i looked GOOD! but I can remember clear as day my mindset back then when I took those photos -- how insecure i was, picking at every little thing. if i could go back in time, it would be to shake myself and be like, "girl, be more CONFIDENT. it shows when you're not! also, you look great." like how was i partying that much and sleeping so little and still looking decent? nowadays, if i have one late night a week, it fucking shows EVERYTHING hahaha. maybe this is what they mean to just enjoy your youth because everything that you were worried about back then really isn't going to matter in the future/never existed anywhere but in your own head.

oh, my friends from that era. i remember how great of a time we had together. and i also am very aware that at this point in present-day time, we're more like acquaintances now. it's been years since I've seen some of them or even longer since we've had deep conversations. i'm trying to not romanticize that time period since I'm all up in my feels but i do have the urge to jump back into it like old times. except those days don't exist anymore.

despite the thousands of photos I'm going through, i wish i took more photos!!! I have a lot of shitty photos because I didn't want to bother with taking an extra minute or two to try to take something with a better composition. plus the cameras on phones back then were so bad (looking at my edc 2013 videos LMFAO). it was more about 'just be there in the moment'. but now, 10 years later, my dusty ass brain cannot recall a lot of it LOL. i really thought some crusty 10-second snapchat was enough because at that time, i never thought i would look back on those videos years into the future. and wish i had more of them, shitty quality and all.

& going off of that, during 2016 edc, my bf at the time invited four girls from taiwan to come with us. we lowkey made fun of them the whole time because they were so insistent on taking photos every hour or so. at some point, my bf was like, "STOP TAKING PHOTOS, PUT THAT AWAY, I DON'T WANT TO SEE YOU GUYS TAKE ANOTHER SELFIE!" but in retrospect, they did take some cute ass photos! like I've gone to 6 EDC's at this point i don't even have a single photo of myself overlooking kinetic field. i had some cute photos with people i no longer speak to and would hopefully never see again lmao. I've tried cropping them out but it's still just tainted shit and blurry low-quality jpegs haha. nothing with just me.

[side note, i just talked to my ex whom i mentioned in the previous bullet in the middle of writing this. i basically told him everything i just said about wishing I had taken more photos back then and he's like, "hah yeah, i do wish we had taken more photos then, the fobs were right" LOLLL]

I'm still pretty shy about taking my camera out and taking photos because i don't want to be that friend who makes people wait before they can eat their food lol but i think i can find other moments where i can take pics~ i really wish i had taken the coolpix i had in college around to events.

basically I'm gonna make sure there's no shortage of good photos of my 30's and I'm also going to try to note down memories with each collage because there's so much shit i forget about after a week goes on and they're just lost forever

Hi! Yes I don’t mind at all!

I mostly use Pinterest, SOMETIMES Google if I’m really struggling though it’s harder to find good pics to use that well. Now as a disclaimer, I’m not sure this is the most ethical way to make these moodboards? I’m very much a believer in supporting and crediting artists, including photographers, but it can be pretty impossible to find sources on Pinterest. Since this is for personal use and I just share them because I’m proud of them, I’m not sure if it’s fine or not, but I’d love to hear opinions on this! 😅

For actually finding images… basically, I add “aesthetic” to the end of almost any search lol. I have a Pinterest board where I essentially save almost ANY image I see that could be useful for current or future chapters. I try to find images with similar color themes or lighting so that I’d only need to do minor editing for them to look cohesive.

For example, if I had a chapter that took place at a coffee shop, with a conflict between characters, that ended with watching a sunset, I might search things like “coffee shop aesthetic” “coffee aesthetic” “drinking coffee aesthetic” “girl and coffee aesthetic” for the first one. I’d look for warm tones, I’d look for images that could invoke conflict (a couple back to back, a cool knife, idk!) and a pretty sunset pic which is probably the easiest one to find.

If you’re using images with people, as a personal preference as someone who doesn’t really care for “face claims”, I would be careful and thoughtful. Also in part because I think I’d be weirded out if I found out someone was using my photos for a fictional character they wrote or played as (though that might depend on the person, character, and use.) When I use photos of people, it’s 1. Not usually meant to be a 1:1 representation of “this IS that character and what they look like,” it’s more for the vibes, and 2. I will focus on photos where the faces might be fully or partially obscured, blurry, or a close up of a single part of their face.

Along with the above; please be INCREDIBLY careful with how you represent BIPOC people in moodboards. If you’re trying to create one for an indigenous character, don’t just throw any dark haired tan model you find into your collage. Be mindful and meticulous in researching the images you’re using in this case, because it’s definitely not great to treat different minority cultures as interchangeable, or use a tan white person to represent a character who is from a marginalized culture.

I use an app called “PhotoCollage” for putting the images together, and sometimes “Picsart” to edit the colors to be closer if needed.

I think that’s a pretty good general overview? Sometimes you need to get creative to find something usable or relevant, I occasionally will get sucked in and spend over an hour searching for images before finding the write combination of search terms that result in what I need. If you have specific questions, feel free to let me know!

this one is inspired by the "would your wol take nudes" wolqotd. sorry about it. a few things to note: sam is left handed and this is set in me and egg's university AU!

It hadn’t started out as a particularly remarkable evening by any means, but Sam had been learning a lot—and not from the textbooks that sat forgotten on his desk across the room, shrouded by the darkness that extended past the piercing glow of his cell phone screen.

social media is going downhill

So, obviously we’re all aware of the chaos that is happening on Twitter with the new owner. One of Musk’s bizarre ideas has led users down an odd, challenging path. Impersonations are rampant as anyone can get verified and appear like any figure or corporation. It’s very likely Musk will incorporate more heartless tactics to make the most money. So where does that leave twitter users? I’ve been trying out a few socials to try and get an answer. Do I have one? Inconclusive. Instagram: Instagram has a been a staple social media since its release in the early 2010s. But it is far from being as good as it was. Instagram is now owned by Meta, which basically means Instagram was bought by Facebook- and it shows. It’s bombarded with ads. All videos posted will automatically become a reel, making it accustomed to a Tik Tok-esque algorithrim. I posted a video from a concert and it naturally gained 3,000 views. I have 50 followers. Not everyone wants their videos to be succumb to that. Another thing is that I’ve been struggling to post some of my photos in high quality. I post a good picture and it’ll upload to Instagram blurry. How can a photo-sharing application struggle to share photos? Tumblr: Here I am! So, I’m not new to Tumblr by any means. Yet I’ve almost always came on here to merely look at posts and reblog them. This is much different than how I use Twitter, and I don’t see them replacing each other. In my mind, Tumblr is for pretty photos and niche fandoms. As much I want it to work, I don’t think Twitter users could appreciate the migration to Tumblr. Mastodon: I created an account a few days ago and it confuses me a lot. You need to sign up with a server (site domain) and this affects your username. For example, one of my accounts is @[email protected]. Like what the fuck is that? It looks like an email. Overall UI for the app is promising though, I like how it looks and there’s already some cool features included such as polls, trigger warnings, and privacy settings. I think if Mastodon was less confusing it would have a lot of potential as the new go-to. Horrible name though, LOL. Vero True Social: Another new one I signed up for recently. This one looked really promising, had great UI and a good number of notable people already active, until I read that it will be subscription based in their Twitter biography. I don’t know about you all, but I do not wish to spend money on social media at all. Overall thoughts: All of these social medias are trash. LOL. But as a Twitch streamer, I really should be on them. hihihi i’m looking to switch to an android soon but there are so many options it’s so overwhelming, i was wondering if you had any opinions on brands or specific phones,,, idk why i’m asking you this i just feel like u have more Knowledge than me dhdhdj<3

Oof okay so I'm no expert here, but i HAVE had an unreasonable amount of phones throughout my lifetime (please do not be impulsive like my younger self i spent so much money on phones because i was obsessed. Do not be Me okay), so i definitely have Opinions™️. I'll try and help you out--

So really it depends on 1) how much money you're able/willing to spend and 2) what kind of features you care about. Personally i wouldn't recommend any android phone cheaper than $200, because they tend to be slow right out of the box and degrade extremely quickly. I have not had an android thus far that hasn't declined in battery life/speed after a year of owning it, but then again, that was before i had the money and autonomy to get myself anything better than hand-me-downs and free carrier phones. Flagships are also not worth it imo, as they tend to overcharge for specs you can get out of a midrange phone. Midrange really is the way to go, imo

My personal recommendation, though? Get a Motorola phone

This is the one i have right now, the moto g stylus 2021. I've had mostly good experiences with this brand. The battery life is excellent across the board (also they have turbocharging!!), and you get some pretty good specs for the money (mine is 4gb of ram with 128gb of storage. It cost $229 when i purchased it). Mostly i got it for the stylus so i could draw on the go; it's not the most precise (though it is more accurate than those cheap fat rubber tip styluses that you can find at dollar stores), but it does a pretty good job all things considered. My only complaint is the CAMERA....

When i bought this device i thought that the 48 megapixels meant that i would be getting a stellar camera but it....is....not lol.... it's barely better than my first Smartphone in everything but resolution, the colors are so washed out and gross and it's hard to get a non-blurry shot. Genuinely i don't know what happened, because the Motorola droid devices i had years ago had great cameras, but this is awful. I don't know anything about cameras unfortunately so you'll have to look that up yourself. Just watch a few reviews. But if you don't care about photo quality then this is an excellent value

Also, i recommend getting an unlocked phone just in case you want to switch carriers but keep your phone. If you don't care about that though or you're not the one paying the phone bill, mobile carriers very frequently have deals on midrange/cheap phones, especially if you're around your upgrade period (~every 2 years if you're on a carrier contract/leasing your phone from them), so potentially you could get a nice little device for free. One of my droids was a free upgrade from Verizon and that was a very nice phone

On the flipside i actually have a lot to wax poetic about regarding apple, even though this post is not about them....the durability and longevity of their devices are unmatched; you can have a phone from them from 6 years ago with minimal slowdown (though they stop releasing OS updates for old models eventually, but it takes a bit). Even though you can get better specs for your money elsewhere, their products are very optimized--idk how they do it. Camera quality is reliably good too. Also they have facetime which I'm pretty sure is one of the only HIPAA-compliant video apps left, and unfortunately in terms of privacy, you'd be hard-pressed to find better elsewhere......if you get an Android you get much better value but it's Google so y'know. There are downsides to both here

In terms of brands i DON'T recommend?? Samsung. Not worth it for the money for their flagships, and last i heard their operating system is bloated with ads. Like the kindle fire. Gross. Their cameras are pretty good, though

Anyways, i hope that at least answered some of your questions. I kind of got carried away here lol...this used to be my special interest so i have a lot of useless phone data in my brain

Finally got to seal my LSK repaint. I also glossed his eyes and domed his irises. I think I didn’t f-ed them up too badly this time. I didn’t do a super awesome job on the right one, but I figure that’s all a me problem. I need better brushes for this process for sure, more so because most of my tiny brushes are either too pointy, or too thick for doing a proper gloss drop for the dome part, and that’s how I manage to ruin everything. Or so I say, to excuse my sucking at life! I know some people can do it regardless of the brush size/shape, but I struggle as is -- I need all the help I can get! LoL! DX

I thought I was going to hate his current paint-apps so much more, but I guess I am learning patience -- as well as keeping on struggling. I will keep him like this for a while longer. Then decide to redo his face again, and again as it goes for me. He doesn’t look like eyeliner, heavy make up-esque like in the first images. However, my “newer” cell-phone’s camera has a bunch of settings that are kind of a new world to me. I usually just use manual, and that of course is crap photos from me, but the “advanced” pro settings are kind of something I haven’t figured out yet. My older cell’s camera was struggling with all the reds this time. It was also taking super blurry photos. I need to get a new battery for it, and it’s also ancient so I can’t complain too much. The first four are my “newer” cell’s work, the last ones are my older than dust cell’s struggling camera’s photos.

I need to get off my lazy-bum-behind and get new hair for his new partial wig as well as work on a new pattern for his top, but I struggle to do things. I am lazy, forgetful old fart, what can I say. >__>;;

It's just a draft XD maybe someone who reads it will come up with something better with what I put.

did i write this at 3am 2 months ago and never looked at it again? maybe.

Korra has an android, most likely a Sumsang Galazy uhhhh smth idk i don’t keep up with phones. It’s not the one with the pen tho, it’s probably an older generation one bc if she had a latest model she would have too much power (no she wouldn’t)

like if this was in canon, she probably got it at the end of s1. Like imagine aang’s spirit going up to her and being like korra,,,,,,,, here’s a sumsand galazy bc u can’t navigate the city at all,,,,,,,,

anyway she has no idea how to use it but she catches on pretty quick how to text. Makes a lot of typos. Abuses the emojis. She likes the arm, hands, shrug, sports ones.

The type to backspace all the way to the first typo she made instead of tapping it or holding the word or whatever. And then she forgets what she typed and it strays from what she originally had.

Didn’t know the front camera existed. She’s like, whaT!? I’ve been staring at the dark screen to pick food out of my teeth! So now that’s what she uses it for.

Asami has the latest model of iPhone that has the home button bc she actually likes it

she probably has other iphone models just to tinker with them.

I bet by the time iphone releases their next model, she’s already made her own that has more space, better cam quality, faster speed, more durable screen, etc. than their model and the home button is still there.

uses a lot of acronyms. Probably makes up his own too, like chl (coming home late) or wduw4d (what do u want for dinner, because the u is the second press and y is the third press).

Don’t expect emojis or emoticons bc he has a character limit. When someone sends him a text with an emoji, it either fails receiving it or it just pops up as the diamond with a question mark in it

If his flip phone allows group messaging, the messages always come individually instead of altogether.

So when he reads one from bolin, he has to go back to the folder, press up, click, read korra’s LOL with a bunch of emojis (he Cannot see the emojis), then repeat.

He can’t message them all at once, so he just sends whatever he has to say to bolin so on bolin’s end there’s just a long line of mako’s messages pertaining to the group chat that he has to relay to the group. But by the time he does that, the group already moved on to whatever else. When he has smth to say, it’s frustrating, but otherwise he wouldn’t mind doing this when he's on break or is bored

If he decides to upgrade his phone (most likely because the others pitched in and got it for him), he gets the blackberry phone with the rolling cursor and he likes playing the ball and brick game on his breaks.

He says he doesn’t miss whipping his phone out and opening and closing it because really it was such a hassle to do but it has sentimental value for being his first phone and it’s kind of muscle memory for him to flick his phone open when he pulls out his blackberry.

Bolin has an LG smart phone (idk what gen) bc he’s the younger sibling.

he abuses the camera and runs out of space and has to constantly delete apps and pictures and videos.

The earliest video he has is probably a probending match so he could rewatch it and learn strategies (not really he just wanted to capture toza’s match)

it's a super shaky video. no you can't zoom in.

his first picture is a blurred sidewalk and his first selfie is probably blurry too because he didn’t know the thing needed time to capture the image or wtv and he got excited and tried it with mako afterwards.

His second selfie with mako was probably two months after he got his phone because he found out you can change the default background so he takes one with mako and mako hasn’t smiled for a picture since he was 8 probably so he kinda just does what FEELS like a smile but it comes out like a straight line.

The camera is not the greatest but bolin probably enjoys how pixel-y it looks until he gets a glimpse at asami’s photo qualities.

Bolin uses the 🤪🤩😬🤯 the most, but also always matches the food emoji to whatever he's currently eating.

Korra's camera roll consists of screenshots she intends to look at later and sometimes theyre of her teeth when she accidentally takes a picture while picking the food out

Asamis personal camera roll starts off with pictures of places shes been to and slowly fills up with candid pictures of her friends. No one ever noticed she snuck a picture of them until she makes a scrapbook
