imagining the story from pei ming's perspective is rlly funny i think. this god from all that time ago ascends again (you were there for the first two times) and immediately waltzes into a situation that fucks something up for your descendant (putting both of your reputations on the line, messing up how hard your descendant worked to become a god and how hard you worked to ensure that he would have that chance) and then refuses to let you smooth the situation out and on TOP of that your friend's little sister (who hates you and who you are trying to look out for by request of your friend) is on your case about it too. so you've gotta work all that out and then like. you chill for a little bit (still kind of upset about your descendant) until your friend undergoes a heavenly calamity. and then in the space of like A Day the god from earlier shows up again with a fucking ghost king, your friend dies, the little sister you're supposed to be looking out for disappears, and everything just kinda goes to shit. so you're like. grieving. trying to process everything. until your OTHER close friend goes off the fucking rails with the spirit of that guy she murdered, and then you get called out to the spooky ghost mountain where you're confronted with the girl whose death YOU were essentially responsible for and have never really come to terms with, and then like. you just kind of hang out with these gay people until everything resolves itself. fight some ghosts. fight the heavenly emperor. get your friend to stop being evil for a little while so she can fix the filing systems. and then you just have to keep being the god of love i guess

i'm just making the rounds at this point haha
Cobblepot beckons Danny closer with a slight crook to his fingers, and a weak part of him bristles at it, but. Really, who is he to refuse? Gamely, he ambles over, the other staff's feelings going weird and vaguely uncomfortable. The man reaches out and ruffles Danny's hair, rounding the touch off with a firm pat to his cheek — he can't help but lean into the cold palm, to chase the comforting chill. Cologne stings his nose.
“Good man,” Cobblepot says, pleased, but then clicks his tongue, tapping the underside of Danny's scruffy chin before withdrawing. “We do have facial hair requirements, however, do remember that. How much have you had to drink tonight?”
Smiling limply, Danny says, “Only had one drink, promise,” and gets an arched eyebrow for it. “Sorry, boss. I'll clean up.”
“See that you do. Dismissed.”

no because that one scene in book!catching fire where the victors that were reaped for the 75th games literally gathered all the tables at the training center together so they could eat lunch as a group, and that peeta was also included in most of this, is literally so funny. like they were all reaped and only one of them would survive the games and being victors they were very much aware of this fact but they just did not care and that is not only extremely hilarious (it has the vibes of that one friend group in your geometry class that will always find a way to talk to each other no matter how hard the teacher tries to separate them), it's actually a really sweet testament to the friendship between the victors and their comfort level/closeness/bonding.

something about how desperate and terrified percy is when he realizes annabeth isn't next to him in the fields of asphodel. the way he screams for her, the panicked breathing, looking everywhere until she calls back then immediately running toward her
trying desperately to get her out of the root, not even questioning what her regret is when grover says that's why she's stuck, only trying to get her out. the way he pleads with her, not even using words, just his eyes, just shakes his head and keeps trying to free her as she tells them to leave her.
her reassurances that she'll be okay, that the pearl will work, that she trusts him
"you can do this. i know you can."
still looking back at her as they leave, his sigh of relief when the pearl works.
Theyre just kids :( terrified little kids who would do anything for each other :(

Ooh I love your gg rival au so much! If you wanna can you give us more info about Scott?
Thank you!
Lucky for you, anon, I have been thinking about Scott a lot since that last post I made about him.
He was a very social and outgoing kind of kid, so it was very easy for him to get along with just about anyone. Because of this, he made a lot of friends growing up in The Monopoly. A lot of them came and went over the years due to the nature of the town, though. They never stayed very long, only a few months or a few years at most. He rarely, if ever, seen any of these friends again. It was something that used to weigh on him as a child.
One of these friends was Jimmy, who he is actually still friends with to this day. Jimmy was one of few people who stayed in contact with him after leaving town, sending him letters whenever possible, updating him on his life and telling him fun stories. They were pen pals of sorts, you could say.
Scott does occasionally visit Jimmy and Tango, but not very often and definitely not often enough to be suspicious of him or suspect he has anything to do with the resistance.
-A little bit of behind the scenes for you: I had actually considered writing a scene in the fic where Scott gives Jimmy and Tango a surprise visit in the middle of a resistance meeting. It would have centered around Jimmy trying to keep Scott busy while the others tried to get out of the house without being seen. Scott would become more and more suspicious as Jimmy's attempts to hide the evidence of their meeting became more frantic by the minute. I just couldn't find a place to fit it, though, so it was inevitably scrapped XD
He is very similar to Pearl in the sense that he is afraid that those who get close to him will inevitably leave, and he will never see them again. He, just like Pearl, is terrified of being alone.
He is very reckless and has little regard for his own life. There have been many a time where he has thrown his life on the line for Impulse or Gem and almost died because of it. He values the lives of his loved ones far more than his own, and he is more than ready to sacrifice himself for them.
