Jasico Bingo Challenge: sharing a bed
It took all of ten minutes for Jason to cave and climb into Nico’s too-big bed. His weight dips the mattress to one side, and as he slides under the blankets, Nico gets hit with his fan’s frigid breeze.
“Told you,” he mutters, flipping over onto his left side. He sticks his hand under his pillow.
Jason makes a face, wrinkling his nose and giving Nico a sort of side-glare, before he settles fully down, hugging Nico’s spare pillow. “I don’t like disobeying Miss Sally.”
Two months ago, Nico would’ve been right there with him. He’s lived under her roof long enough to know which rules they can nudge, though. “Percy constantly lets Grover share his bed.”
“Percy and Grover are different,” Jason says, his voice just a shade above a whisper. “You know it’s different.”
Nico shrugs. “Sally doesn’t know that.”
Jason looks far less amused than he should. “I’m serious,” he says.
This is what Nico gets for dating a serial rule-follower, he supposes. Rules are rigid and unbending, in Jason’s mind, no matter how insignificant. He approaches “entrance” and “exit” signs like he’ll get arrested for mixing them up.
It’s something they’re working on, together. It’s something Nico can help with. It’s always tricky, with Jason, working around the thorny patches of his logic, but Nico knows firsthand that once Jason can tame that anxiety, he’ll feel so much better.
Nico is also aware it took him almost half a year to even start changing his own habits regarding rules, or moreso his perception of them, and that was only after a few years of built up trauma around it. Jason has his whole life to unwind.
But, there is still progress, which Nico makes sure Jason knows he’s proud of. It’s easy to start with things Jason wants that he sees as outside the rule-boundary, things like sneaking dessert out of the pavilion at camp so they can eat it somewhere peaceful, or sharing Nico’s oversized princess bed so he doesn’t have to sleep on the floor.
Sometimes it feels a little bit like treat-training a dog. Nico did something similar with Mrs. O’Leary and Cerberus, after all. It’s a guilty thought to have. Jason isn’t a dog, and Nico isn’t his owner, isn’t trying to train him. He’s just…he wants Jason to feel free. He hates when Jason mentally butts up against one of the walls of his cage and physically recoils from something that would make him feel better. Make him feel good, and human, and normal.
“I want you up here,” Nico says. He matches the gravity of Jason’s tone, watches Jason’s eyes dart around, lit by the dimmed string of star-shaped lights over the bed. Nico reaches out, slowly, and pokes Jason’s wrist. “I know I’ll sleep better if you’re here.”
Jason swallows. He shifts his weight on the mattress, his foot kicking out just barely into Nico’s space. “What if Miss Sally comes to check on us, and she sees-? Will she get mad?”
“Maybe.” He wants to temper Jason’s fears, not lie to them. He hasn’t seen Sally get mad at anything other than when the dogs chew on shoes, or when he and Percy fight too loud in the backyard. This, something easy enough to explain, he doesn’t think she’d mind. “But she would never punish me, or you, over it. Over anything. The worst she’d do is give us a stern talking to, and maybe make us sleep on the couch next time.”
“The couch is an option?”
Ugh, no, the couch is not an option. Nico taps his fingers against Jason’s wrist bone and wrinkles up his nose, tucking himself up more in his comfortable blankets and pillows.
Jason, finally, breaks into a little smile. “You’re spoiled now.”
“Hush. I’m allowed to like having a bed, and I’m allowed to want to share it with my b..with my boyfriend.”
The room hushes over, the sound of the fan hiding how hard Nico’s heart thumps.
It’s still new, that part of this. It’s still hard to say it out loud. Pushing out of his comfort zone is something Nico is working on himself, though.
Jason beams. He’s probably blushing, though it’s too dark to see and Nico’s half buried his face in the pillow to hide his own face.
“Shut up,” he grumbles.
Jason turns his hand around and laces their fingers together. He finally lets go of the tension in his arms, lets himself sink into the bed. Nico feels how the blanket moves with it.
“You’ve convinced me,” Jason whispers. “But if we do get caught, you’re doing the talking.”
“Deal,” Nico says, and squeezes Jason’s hand. He peeks, just to see another glimpse of that smile. He likes Jason’s smile. It doesn’t even ache to admit it anymore. “Go to sleep, now.”
“Can do.”
(Sally pokes her head in at eight AM, after Nico and Jason miss breakfast. She blinks, at first confused to see the empty pallet at Nico’s bedside, then understanding when she sees the bed itself.
Jason is fast asleep at the edge of the bed, peaceful and relaxed, hugging a pillow to his chest, the blankets tangled around him. Just over the slope of his shoulder, she sees Nico’s curly head of hair nestled close.
She’s careful not to let the door squeak as she leaves them in peace.)

THERE'S NO PLACE LIKE HOME - PERCY/NICO AU HIGH SCHOOL - CHAPTER XVII
Hi, how are you? Another chapter and so fast? I'm enjoying it while the burnout doesn't come! I hope you like it.
I don't have many warnings in this chapter. Consider this chapter part of the previous one, okay?
CHAPTER I / CHAPTER II / CHAPTER III / CHAPTER IV / CHAPTER V / CHAPTER VI / CHAPTER VII / CHAPTER VIII / CHAPTER IX / CHAPTER X / CHAPTER XI / CHAPTER XII / CHAPTER XIII / CHAPTER XIV / CHAPTER XV / CHAPTER XVI
Nico admitted that talking to Percy made things easier. Sincerely? He didn't care, he thought it wouldn't change much if he said what he thought or not. Nico was wrong, of course, although he only did all that because he saw how these secrets bothered Percy. They weren't exactly secrets, they were… some small things that made him feel ashamed or that he thought weren't important. In the end, Percy was right. It was the best feeling in the world, knowing that Percy cared so much about what he thought and felt, to the point of insisting so much and forcing him to see that he was important, even if it was for just one person; he was no longer invisible and what he thought was valid.
Nico wasn’t that clueless, He knew what had happened to him. Was fully aware that his father had abandoned him long before his mother died, but leaving a child alone in the care of his older sister who could barely look after herself? He would never blame Bianca, let alone Percy, who had welcomed him with open arms when the boy had no obligation. Nico couldn't imagine where he would be today if it hadn't been for Percy, who, although a little rebellious and controlling, was kind and concerned, much more affectionate than the image Percy gave to the rest of the world, the gruff and somewhat violent boy who hid inside his chest the desire to love and be loved, not for what he had but for what he was. And Nico understood that perfectly well. When the people around him found out that he was rich, the damage was already done; some people began to avoid him and others to flatter him, but not Percy, ‘cause Percy had always been the same protective and affectionate person, always offering him a smile and willing to share everything he had with Nico; his house, his money and even his family.
That's why at that moment, when Percy said that his opinion mattered, he believed him. And when Percy asked him to be honest, Nico did his best. He knew he could have made something up or pretended nothing was happening, seeing that Percy was about to give in. The problem was, they were the same in those kinds of things; it’s better to have something broken than not have it, right? Nico wasn't sure anymore, all he knew was that he was exactly where he was supposed to be, outside the house lying on a sun lounger with a book in his hand, watching the Jackson family having fun. Percy was swimming, Sally was grilling vegetables and meat on the electric grill and Grover and Tyson were sitting on the grass, doing what they do best, organizing the restaurant's upcoming events and deciding on the menu design for the next month. Nico could even breathe easier, feeling the mid-afternoon sun hit his face, making him close his eyes for a moment. A moment that seemed to last longer than he intended, when he was woken up by a soft voice and loving hands touching his hair.
"Nico, the food’s ready. You shouldn't spend so long in the sun." It was Sally, who smiled at him and helped him up from the chair.
Nico blinked slowly and, with his vision still blurred, let Sally guide him to the tables near the barbecue that were under huge umbrellas, serving as makeshift tents since they rarely used the outside of the house. Or so Percy had told him.
"What a good smell! "He heard someone say from afar.
Nico felt like he was in paradise.
Still a little drowsy, he watched Percy take another lap around the pool and go to the edge, propelling himself out of it and coming towards them, strutting around, like he hadn’t a care in the world, throwing his wet hair back and wearing only a swimming trunks, wetting the ground wherever he went. It was almost as if the water had attached itself to his body and didn't want to leave him. Nico didn't even get angry when Percy leaned over and kissed him, getting him wet in the process as he sat down next to him.
"Good reading?”
It was an interesting question; he couldn't remember a word of it, let alone if he'd read any of the pages. And instead of questioning his lack of an answer, Percy merely smiled at him and kissed his cheek. It seemed that their truce was still holding.
"How about we eat and rest later?”
Nico nodded, of course, suddenly feeling exhausted. Percy set out a piece of well-done steak, potatoes, and a salad for him and made another plate for himself. They ate in silence, and Nico hardly noticed as the sun softened and hid on the horizon. He also barely noticed the moment he went up to the room with Percy and got under the blankets, the only light that illuminated the room being the weak rays that passed through the blinds.
"Sleep. I'll be here when you wake up.”
Nico did his best to keep his eyes open. But Percy was still by his side, wearing only a swimming trunks, stroking his hair and cradling him like the baby Percy insisted he was. Maybe he was, and maybe Percy liked that. Things were what they were, and fighting nature was a battle doomed to failure. So he let himself be lulled to sleep and relaxed against the pillows. Maybe when he woke up he wouldn't feel so strange and tired.
***
Percy waited until Nico's breathing became deep and got up, then quietly went downstairs to where his mother was still sitting under an umbrella.
"Is he asleep?”
"Yes. I think I've tired him out.”
"Percy, we've already talked about this.”
"I know that, okay! It's just that... Nico is so disinterested in everything.”
"Darling, I understand. But if you want Nico to stay here, you have to follow our rules.”
"You don't understand! He's starting to get quiet again. Nico hardly eats and doesn't want to talk about anything. What do you want me to do if sex is the only thing that holds his attention?”
"Have you ever thought that Nico is feeling comfortable enough to be himself?”
"But he's so calm! Nothing seems to affect him.”
"Darling." Now Sally was laughing at him, and not even hiding her amusement. "The problem here may be something else.”
"What?”
"Your need for control. If you don't understand, you try to control it.”
"I really don't understand.”
"Think of it this way, Nico was alone, so he had to act in a certain way in order not to remain alone, right? Is he still alone?”
"Are you telling me he's quiet because he wants to be? Because it feels good?”
"Percy! Nico is part of the family, but he's not your responsibility.”
"Of course he is. If his father never cared and his sister cares when it's convenient, someone has to!”
"Percy.”
"I know it's not my responsibility, I don't see it that way. I just worry. What if the next time he runs away, Nico gets hurt? What will happen when no one can help him?”
"It still won't be your fault. Just as it's not his if Nico feels cornered and wants to protect himself. You have to accept that.”
"I hate that you studied psychology.”
"How else could I understand what's going on in my son's head?”
"Mom!”
"I'm serious, Percy. Think about it. Do you act the same everywhere and with everyone? Then don't expect Nico to do the same. Would you rather he pretended to be something just to please you? Wasn't that the problem?”
"I'm just... I'm scared. I screwed up before, you know? What if I do the same thing?”
"It still won't be your fault.”
"So whose is it?”
"Nobody's. It's just life. It's up to us to forgive and move on. In the end, life is about choices.”
"I don't like that.”
"Well, darling, nobody likes it. You have to understand that deep down it's not about you.”
"That's a shame. If it were, I'd have sorted it out by now.”
"Percy! You have to respect what Nico wants.”
"Hm." That was a good place to start. "All right, I'll do what you want. But I can't promise anything.”
"Perseus Jackson!”
Sally slapped his arm and all he could do was laugh. Sally wasn't the kind of person who punished through pain, no, but by taking away what you loved most. So Percy knew his mother didn't mean it, she would never punish him so cruelly. In the end, she hugged him and told him: "Behave yourself and everything will work out in the end. Be patient.”
***
"Behave and everything will work out in the end. Be patient.”
Nico didn't want to be spying, he swore he didn't want to. But Percy had said he'd be by his side when he woke up, and when Percy wasn't there, the only thing on his mind was to go in search of the liar. It was all right, he forgave Percy since Percy needed Sally more than he needed Percy at the moment; and to think that Percy asked him to be honest when Percy didn't do the same. Because, yes, he had heard it all. From his "lack of interest" to "you have to respect what Nico wants".
It was funny in an almost sick way. What did he want? It was hard to decide. In the past, he wanted a real friend, then someone to hold his hand. And when all that had come true, things started to get complicated; he wanted a boyfriend and didn't want Percy to know how he felt; he wanted kisses and didn't want Percy to find out. Now? Well, now that he had all this, he realized that in the end all these desires were concentrated in one person, and as long as he had that, he was satisfied, even if he knew it wasn't very healthy or right from an ethical, moral or mental point of view. However, it was something to think about... what was the point of having what he wanted when the price was seeing Percy so frustrated and anxious?
Before they could notice him, Nico entered the house and climbed the stairs, lying down on the bed where Percy had left him. Maybe he could... show more interest? It wouldn't be that much effort, right? And it might even be fun. So he put his head on the pillow and didn't have to wait long. Soon the bedroom door opened and the bed beside him moved, arms wrapped around his waist and a kiss was placed behind his ear, sending shivers down his spine.
"Did I wake you up?”
"I'm so sorry." Nico said, turning around in Percy's arms, looking at him closely. "I didn't know you cared so much.”
"You heard?" Percy made a serious face and Nico felt his heart clench.
He wrapped his arms around Percy's neck and kissed him for long minutes, closing his eyes tightly, knowing that he would rather not look at Percy when he started talking.
With his eyes still closed, he leaned his forehead against Percy's and spoke:
"Your mother is right. I... you may have a certain influence over my personality, but it's not exactly that. I like it that way, I just want a bit of peace and quiet, you know? A place to belong. I want to have someone to…”
"To?”
"I want someone to own me. Who is in control. Who won't let me get away and who knows what I need.”
"Own you? How? You're not a property, something for people to buy.”
"Sometimes that's how I feel. I'm just this thing, sometimes I'm valuable, and sometimes, not.”
"Nico.”
"I prefer to be with someone who values me and treats me well. I want you to own me and no one else. Are you mine too?”
That's why Nico didn't want to say anything. As long as Percy thought he had a modicum of normality, things would be fine. Now that Pandora's box had been opened, all he had left was hope. He could feel the frustration exploding out of Percy, the guilt, the tension. The longer they remained still and silent, the worse everything got. Nico forced himself to open his eyes and take a deep breath, trying to be brave.
What he saw next surprised him. Percy didn't look happy or sad, shocked or upset, just... quiet, a stillness so intense that it rivaled his own, only his face remained serious and tense.
"What you're saying is very serious. Since when do you feel this way?”
And if he had to be honest...
"I think it's always been like this. Ever since that time in the bathroom. I know it's not very common. And I know I didn't know much back then. The point is that even with distance, nothing has changed. You can try to be more... correct and fair, but in the end, it makes no difference to me. Just because you realized you were doing wrong things, it still doesn't change what we've been through or what we're going to go through. The only thing that has changed is that distance has shown me that I love you, and that I love every little thing about you, good or bad, kind or mean. I accept you as you accept me. So don't make me change just like I don't want you to change.”
It seems that's what Percy needed to come out of his catatonic state. Percy took his hand and kissed it, then hugged him tightly again.
"I accept you as you are. I didn't want you to see those parts of me. They don't define me and I don't want them to define you either. I thought that if I tried hard enough, they would stay buried and no one would need to notice them.”
"I know. I love you. I love every single one of them. And when I say all of them, I mean all of them.”
Percy chuckled into his ear, making him shiver from head to toe, his voice coming out hoarse as Percy pressed him against the bed and placed himself between his legs.
"All of them? Without exception?”
"None. Well, maybe when you hesitate to touch me. I don't like that.”
Another laugh and a grinding of teeth that ran down the back of his neck and onto his shoulder. Hmmm... that would leave a mark, for sure.
"I'll keep that in mind. Any other suggestions?”
"You're going too slowly. Maybe if you tortured me less?”
"I can't guarantee that.”
"Oh!”
What could Nico do but give in and moan? His pants were pulled down and soon his member was in Percy's mouth. There was nothing better than that.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So, I don't know if I liked this chapter very much. But it was productive. I don't know. I hope you had fun. But like, should I do a +18 scene in the next chapter? Or not? I'll let you decide.
See you next time!

The Seven but it’s the mortal AU
Basically how they would be like if they were mortals.
Starting of with Percy. He would probably be that basketball kid/troublemaker even though he doesn’t do it on purpose™. You can and will find him in the most nearby parks, practicing. He does not talk much or have many friends, neither does he try to interrupt anyone. Percy’s that one mysterious kid that no one knows anything about. Oh yeah, and he’s also in the swimming club, which he rarely attends due to having no free time. Even though Percy loves swimming more than basketball, he’ll never admit it. His only friend is Grover, the gardener at his school.
Has a part-time job to help his mother, Sally, at a local book store (the only job who accepted him). That’s where he met Annabeth, his co-worker.
Next in line is Annabeth. This isn’t something new, but she’s really smart. In fact, she even got a scholarship. Her mother died when she was a kid, and her step-mom treats her like a freak. Doesn’t live with her parents since she has problems with her dad/step-mom, instead she lives somewhere with rent, but she can manage to pay with some of her saving funds/part-time job. That’s where she met Percy.
She never talked to him, admiring him from afar. Wants to ask him out, but can’t find the courage to do so.
Jason is the straight A student. Never once skipped classes, taking his studies very seriously. In his free time, he can be found hanging with his friends in the forest (he really likes that place, no one knows why). But because his mother is famous, people tried to use him multiple times, and some kids even compared him to a rich kid that has no responsibility whatsoever.
Once, it was a raining day. He was walking down the streets, soaking wet. Once he passed a corner, he bumped into a girl. While lending her a hand, he noticed her face. She was that famous model. That’s how he met Piper.
Piper is a model, even though she’s in high school and she absolutely despises her job. But what can you do? Her mother is a model and her father is an actor. Basically a household full of pretty people, except Piper. She never felt like she was pretty enough to have this career. She lacked a lot of things, along with confidence and charm most models have. She was just a shy teenager, competing with people way prettier than her, or so she though.
At her last modeling job, Piper got so tired and stormed out of the place, running in her heels. It was raining outside and she couldn’t last any longer with her shoes, so she took them off and picked them up. She was trying to walk to her house not looking like a clown with the mascara running down her face and her makeup ruined, but it wasn’t working. When she passed a corner, she bumped into a strange blonde guy, who helped her up. Later, she found out that they were going to the same high school, and became his friend. Piper felt like he was the only one who understood her, slowly falling in love with him. That’s how she met Jason.
Surprisingly (or not), Frank is the head of the student council. Despite looking intimidating, he is actually a very kind/shy individual. Has a few friends, even tough he doesn’t hang with them a lot, since he’s busy most of the time. When he is free though, he goes either to the gym or to the park, to pet all the dogs. He is a huge dog lover, having 2 dogs at home. Frank doesn’t have any social media accounts, but he has one for his dogs.
When he met Hazel, she was a new student and he was giving her a tour around the school. Right after, they immediately became friends, since they both are animal lovers/own an animal. Frank began crushing on Hazel, neglecting his work more and more, just so that he can hang out with her.
Hazel is a really quiet kid. During recess, she usually goes outside and reads a book, not wanting to interact with anybody. She sometimes hangs out with her brother, Nico and her friend Reyna. They aren’t very popular, except Reyna is a member of the student council. Hazel is the type of girl to always stop on her way to school to pet some of the stray cats. She actually has a cat at home, which she often plays with. Don’t tell anyone I said that, but once, Hazel tried to teach her cat how to read.
Hazel met Frank while he was giving her a tour of the school. She didn’t pay much attention, but the second Frank mentioned something about animals, her eyes lit up.
Leo is a really extroverted guy. He knows Piper and Jason since they were young, but he never introduced them to each other. He always goes out to party and flirts with people 24/7, but he still manages to get good grades. He is a very positive guy, and tried to stay like that even when his mother died. He sometimes pulls prank on people, just that he could get a laugh. The pranks aren’t mean though.

New Episode Reactions!!! Pt 1
AHHH, I have so many feelings ya'll!! This episode was so awesome and the art was absoulty suberp! Thomas and the whole crew worked so hard to get this out and it really paid off! I just wanted to run through all the amazing things in this ep now that I've watched it once!
I'm warning you now this is mostly just me gushing about amazing and great everything is because it's very amazing and great! Strap in for spoiler central!!!
First of all the thumbnail is just amazing
Starting off with Thomas being incredibly relatble and awkward, we love to see it!
ROMAN!!!!
VIRGIL!!!!!
I love that this confirms that the sides just pop up in Thomas's day to day life and bully him, it's great
Side notw: I love how the artists drew Thomas in this, he looks adorable
OMG prinxiety poping out the godamn clothing hanging thing to call thomas old makes me very happy
I love that this whole episode is Virgil and Roman bonding, it is fabulos.
"DO YOU EVEN KNOW WHAT I LOVE YOU MEANS TO THEM?"
"You told me to say it!"
"STOP PLAYING YOU PEOPLE'S HEARTS THOMAS"
I love this so much
There is a whole lot of lying here but I have yet to spot a single snake boi :(
I know Jan had a whole thing last episode but like... I miss him :(((
HEART EYES ROMAN!!!!! BEING SO GODAMN DRAMATIC!!!! I LOVE HIM SO MUCH
"*long poetic description of feelings*"
"What?"
"*SIGH* Cutie at twelve-o-clock."
Prinxeity's dual calling of bullshit when Thomas says he's not interested
WHY IS ROMAN ME WHEN I SEE A CUTE GIRL IN PUBLIC
Virgil pulling fucking boniculars just out of nowhere
"He's got some stickers on his laptop."
"Pretty gay~" *finger gun*
Virgil laying down introvert laws on stickers is great and very true (in unrelated news, I need to buy more stickers for my laptop)
Nico's a disney fan too!!!!
I kind of love that it was the Nightmare Before Chrismas sticker that sealed the deal for them because it's something that's very Roman and also very Virgil
Also how can you not take that sticker as clear sign from the universe that this will end in roman and happily ever afters, I'm with Roman here (when am I not tho?)
"You can live like Jack and Sally..."
I don't why Virgil calling Roman doofus is so funny and dorky to me but it is and I love it. I want them to get along but I want to keep the banter and little insults that don't mean much
"Why forget your spectacles at the retirment home?"
"Those jokes are getting old..."
"You would know..."
I love the gentle bullying
YOU SEE SOME BUTTONS; YOU BUTTON IT!!!!!
PINTERVERTS!!!!
THIS IS WHY I LOVE SEEING THESE INTERACTING!!!!
Seeing Roman and Virgil with the head sets and mics really makes me want to like make a rodio hosts AU, they'd defintly be interesting pair to listen to. Oh! or like a podcast thing or something! I'd listen to it!
Also the backseat driving from prinxiety is great
"I'M NOT MAX! I'M PRINCE ROMAN -"
Also that godamn, you got five seconds thing gave ME anxciety
"great."
"great indeed."
"GREAT INDEED!"
boiled. mayo. carrots. what the heck thomas.
"The only logical next step. Go home and regret everything." Virge, buddy, pal, chill for like five seconds.
"No man!"
"Uh, it's RO-man. With an R? You're really struggling today."
Ro, buddy, pal, princey, never change.
"When it comes to anti-social etiquette, I'm a triple expert. An ex-ex-expert!"
"Easy tiger" This is flirting right? This is defintly flirting. They are flirting!
GAY EYES!!!!
Roman doing the gay eyes and the little noises AHHHH, I'm dying, i'm deceased, my ghost is writing this
Side note: I'm really tempted to become a patron just to see the live action version of this scene alone, imagine my friends, imagine
Gay eyes have never worked for me either
DISASTOR!
"No DO look at youself Thomas. Because that was a test and you failed!"
"You were testing me!?!?!"
"Oh no, I was just panicking."
I love them
I also love all of Virgil's instenseness in this episode because honestly very relatable to my own anxiety but also the art was just really great
“If you don’t have anything nice to say... you’re a dirty lier.”
God the whole pretend you’re leaving was so funny and gave me such secondhand embrassement, it was so good
“I hate to rain on your black parade, Gerard Gay -”
I missed him and his nicknames SO MUCH
Virgil and Roman literally pulling Thomas around and making him sit and stand is just so funny to me. it’s like Roman and Logan fighting over control of Thomas’s arms
“You’re making a mistake!”
“If I am I’ll add it to the list!”
Oh. My heart. Roman, darling, no -
Again with the pushing, guys
This poor random passerby who got accosted by Thomas’s awkwardness. I hope they had a good day at the mall at least
THE TRASH CAN!!!!
I love that it’s not just Thomas in the trash can but all three of them
This is another scene I would LOVE to see live action
“You were being a baby about the buttons and the pins had you panicking.”
It’s nice to see Roman helping Thomas get clean in the bathroom
“He’s got birds on the brain! You don’t wanna wing it, Virge? Alright let’s drum up a plan!”
I love the puns but I love Roman trying to help Virge feel better about this more even tho they didn’t end up going with this
“It’s like cyber-stalking but real life”
“So... stalking”
“... OH YOU’RE RIGHT!”
Virgil, sweetie, you’re doing amazing
“Speaking from the heart” Patton, buddy, is that you?
THE MONOLOGUE!!!!
“The mall is where you go when you don’t know what you want because the mall has everything...”
Roman’s face at that line really killed me fam. He is going through some stuff, huh
Actually Roman’ and Virgil’s faces during the whole speech really killed me
OMG THE DUDE IN THE BATHROOM!!!!
All those theories about the next ep being Ro & Virge bonding through mutual dislike of Janus were sorta right
Also it’s interesting that Virgil is clearly talking about Janus but is still calling him Deciet
Also generally enjoying the calm Prinxeity team up and discussion for once
“No, he’s better off without me.”
AH no, thomas!
Damn I’m so used to Sides Angst the character thomas angst really hit me by the wayside
GAY PANIC
NICO!!!!!
“HE FEARS THINGS TOO!?”
THE GAY PANIC!!!!
“I THINK I SAW A LOT OF WIDE VOWELS?”
“NEVADA????”
“MORE THAN THAT!”
“ANACONDA?????”
“ANACONDA!!!!! HE’S A NIKKI MINHAJ FAN!!!!”
They are such disaster gays
Mishearing the guy and then instead of asking for a repeat, just going along with it is so terribly terribly relatable but god the second hand embrasment
“another chance at happiness squandered.”
break my heart why doncha ya
The whole sequence of Virgil noticing Roman being so godamn sad and miserable and watching Nico walk away and his breathing speeding up and the wide eyed panic before he pushes thomas is literally my favorite part of the whole damn video! that wasn’t easy for him to do but he did it. for roman and thomas. so that didn’t squader another chance. he was so brave and i’m so proud of him
I really love Nico! He seems so chill and adorable and he took thomas’s flutered rambling so well! and he’s a writer!!! and he winked at thomas!!!
Mr. Florez!!!!
He’s writing a song!!!!!
The song explanation calling thomas out is kind of adorable
this whole meet cute is kind of adorable
“THAT WAS YOU?” “ARE YOU OKAY?”
brusied ego, aw does that mean Patton’s gonna be taking care of Ro like the last time Thomas got a brusied ego
MY SECOND FAVORITE PART OF THE VIDEO: Ro’s soft little “Shut up, emo” and the little hearts and his hand on Virgil’s shoulder and Virgil’s little smile at him and the whole calling Virge brave!!! It was all so so so good!!!!
End Card Time!!!!!
Thomas calling Roman a punk is adorable
Also Janus’s Corridor Of Stored Rewards!!! Amazing
Everyone coming back all excited and giddy really matched my own excitement and giddiness and I love it
LITERAL SCREAMS OF JOY
Virgil’s purple sparkly eyeshadow because he’s happy is so so pure and amazing and I kind of want to try out that look myself
“Thomas I’m gonna need you to walk around the entire room - yes thank you- that helps somehow”
even more things to project onto Virgil with, thank you
I haven’t seen Virgil smile this much in one episode before and it is really watering my crops, clearing my skin, rasing my grades, saving my whole ass year -
The dark eyeshadow returning at Thomas’s subtweet is great and very relatable
Virgil asking what is things are never the same again but with light eyeshadow and the clearly more hopeful outlook on things makes me so very happy
I love Roman being excited but like we don’t see virgil so giddy nearly as often and it’s just so heartwarming
Roman trying to get them to go to France on V-day and Virge actually going along with the idea!!!
Virgil telling Thomas to do the happy flappies!!!!
Virgil’s face at ‘are u ready for this’ kills me
But the deepening panic voice when the dog barks and his reaction to Ro telling him to relax was great
in summary: I though based on the title this was going to be the other sides flirting with Virgil and honestly I wasn’t that far off

the wedding date - ch. 9
percabeth fake dating!au based on The Wedding Date movie
part 1 | FFnet | ao3
masterpost
The wine was flowing.
If the rehearsal dinner gave any indication of what the ceremony was going to be like the next day, it was sure to be lavish. Piper’s mother and father, supermodel Aphrodite Love and actor Tristan McLean, were paying for the ceremony. Zeus Grace, Jason’s father and host of the rehearsal dinner, had obviously not wished to be upstaged. Zeus had hired an upscale party company to completely transform the front lawn of the Big House into some kind of fairytale winery, much to Chiron’s protest.
Every post on the wrap-around porch was wrapped in twinkling lights. The porch itself had been transformed into an altar for the rehearsal ceremony. Picnic tables laden with white table clothes, succulents, and lanterns littered the front lawn for the dinner. The parents of the bride and groom greeted the wedding party as they arrived: Tristan and Zeus shaking everyone's hands and Beryl Grace and Aphrodite shooting each other reproachful scowls — they had worn the same dress.
Percy sat with Will and Calypso as their dates rehearsed walking down the aisle. Jason’s annoying cousin, Octavian, was officiating. Percy caught Annabeth’s eye from where she stood at Piper’s side on the porch. He made faces at her until he saw her smile crack. He grinned at how cute she looked, trying to stifle her laughter. Reyna, standing directly behind Jason, noticed and followed Annabeth’s line of sight, she shot daggers at him.
When he was sure Reyna wasn’t looking anymore, Percy winked at Annabeth and motioned to her neck. She blushed.
After dance lessons, Percy and Annabeth had fooled around in their cabin before getting ready for the rehearsal dinner. Annabeth had even more hickeys on her neck to conceal after that afternoon, especially with the low-cut neckline of her lavender rehearsal dinner dress. Percy didn’t exactly know where they stood with their agreement, but he knew he was having fun with Annabeth regardless of all the lines and boundaries they had crossed by being intimate..
“You are not allowed to look at me tomorrow!” Annabeth said, punching him in the shoulder after they finished rehearsing the ceremony. Percy pulled back her chair for her as they sat down at the head table with the wedding party.
“I agree,” Reyna replied, but Percy had a feeling she was not joking at all.
The food was amazing, but the wine was better. Percy was in bliss, chowing down and refilling Annabeth’s wine glass as the parents all made their rounds of speeches. Dessert was served just as Tristan McLean concluded a monologue from one of his 90s chick flick movies that he was dedicating to Piper. The dessert was vanilla cake with blueberries.
Percy’s eyes lit up and he attacked the cake with his fork, “Heck yes!”
Annabeth grinned at his enthusiasm as she adjusted the napkin on her lap, “What is it with you and blue food?” She ate a piece, it was really delicious.
“It’s a thing between me and my mom,” Percy spoke through mouthfuls. “I asked for a blue birthday cake when I was little, and my old stepdad was being an ass, ‘Blue food doesn’t exist!’” Percy stabbed a blueberry on his fork, dark juice staining the white china. “After that, my mom made an extra effort to make me blue food like pancakes or bringing home all the blue candy from when she worked at a sweet shop.”
Annabeth reached out and brushed icing away from the corner of his mouth, “Your mom sounds great.”
Percy looked at her, smiling, “She is.”
Annabeth broke away from Percy’s gaze. Her face started to feel hot. She stood, “I’m gonna go grab some water, do you want some?” Her feet were taking her to the beverage table before Percy could respond.
Annabeth filled a glass with ice and water and downed it. She refilled it once more, gulping it down. She had felt the words I’d like to meet her about to escape her lips right then. She had to be more careful or she was going to fall into this façade. This arrangement was just for this one weekend. She was never going to meet Sally Jackson.
“Annabeth! Hello, dear.”
She turned, “Aphrodite, hello.” Piper’s mom reached by her to fill her glass with ice. She managed to make the casual, rustic dinner outside of the Big House look like the backdrop of a photoshoot. Annabeth thought, she was too beautiful, too perfect.
“How was the food?” Aphrodite asked, gazing at her as she sipped her water. She had the same kaleidoscope eyes Piper had, but whereas Piper’s gaze was warm and comforting, Annabeth could barely look her mother in the eye.
“It was great. Nice speeches too.”
Aphrodite smiled, her lipstick unsmudged by her glass, “It’s nice to see you sitting over there with your date.”
Annabeth’s stomach dropped, she already hated where this conversation was going yet she just nodded and smiled.
“You’re such a pretty girl,” Aphrodite continued, “You’d never have thought with a face like that that you’d have such trouble in the love department. Well, then I saw how you are about work and your little job. I’m so happy that you finally found love! It feels so much better than drawing some buildings, doesn’t it?”
Annabeth’s jaw tensed, “Yes.” After years of friendship with Piper, she learned it was best not to argue with her mother.
“Your career may be what makes you happy, but love is what you needed.”
“Right, Aphrodite,” Annabeth muttered through gritted teeth, she gripped her glass and walked back over to the table.
She was fuming when she sat down.
“Whoa, whoa,” Percy asked, cautiously, seeing her tensed shoulders, “What did I do now?”
Annabeth crossed her arms. “Not you,” she spat, “Piper’s mother ugh. She had some commentary about my personal life again.” Annabeth hated, hated, hated conversations with Piper’s mother because they always ended like that. A successful career and love are not mutually exclusive.
However, in Annabeth’s case, it had been. Luke had left her because she chose her job.
Percy took her hand, “Hey, come on, forget her, let’s dance.”
The wine had loosened Annabeth enough to actually join Percy on the makeshift dance floor, and the mandatory shots for the bridal party got her to let Percy twirl her into the middle of the dance circle.
Michael Bublé’s “Sway” came on next, and Percy and Annabeth made for Will and Nico as they salsa-ed into the middle.
Annabeth’s left hand rested lightly on Percy's shoulder as they swayed on the outskirts of the dance floor. As the sun went down, fireflies began to twinkle on the lawn.
“Is this even real?” Annabeth muttered, her gaze following a lightning bug, “How did we get here?”
Percy chuckled, twirling her, “Not sure.”
“For real, how did you become an actor, Percy?”
Percy shrugged as Bublé transitioned to Sinantra, “I never wanted to be an actor when I was younger, I just wanted to swim. Competitive swimming led to scholarships. I was undeclared and Grover was my freshman roommate and he did tech for the theater department. I hung around him and other theater majors who ended up casting me in their studio shows for fun. When I needed to declare a major, the only thing I had enough credits in was theater.”
“I’ve never met anyone who was an actor who didn’t want to be.”
“I like it, I really do. I don’t want to be famous or anything, though. There are enough acting gigs in New York and connections from college to keep me busy and employed until the next thing.”
“What’s the next thing?”
“I like acting, but not forever. I might go back to school, maybe a masters? I have a little sister, Estelle, so I want to stay New York.”
“How old is she?”
“She’s only nine, she’s my half-sister from stepdad, Paul. I want to be there as she grows up so I would never leave New York.”
“That’s what we all said.”
“Hm?”
Annabeth’s expression fell, “We all said we’d never leave New York. I’m the only one left. We all went to camp up here, and I remember we all talked about how we’d move to the city together. We all did at first, but eventually everyone moved to New Rome out in California.”
“Yuck,” Percy joked, “Imagine leaving the greatest city in the world for California.”
“I don’t know, what’s New York given me? Rent I can barely keep up with and my only friends now are my roommate’s.”
“Not true. Look at you, only 25-years-old and the most successful architect I’ve ever met.”
“You meet a lot of architects?” Annabeth grinned.
“No, but I know you designed that new building on Lexington Avenue.”
Annabeth’s heart warmed at the fact that he remembered the building she was proudest of designing.
“Why did you want to be an architect?”
Annabeth paused, they weren’t dancing as much as just swaying in place with the music now. She thought about it, “I wanted to build something permanent. Everyone in my life is always leaving and moving, but buildings will be there pretty much forever. Camp is the only home I’ve ever known.
“I moved around a lot with my mom and my dad and step family and my cousins in Boston. I finally asked my dad to send me to boarding school just so I at least knew where I would be for the next four years no matter where he moved. Boarding school and camp. Even my friends, Piper and all of them moved back to New Rome. I’m just tired of people leaving.”
Annabeth’s last thought hung in the air between them. Percy brushed a strand of hair out of her face. The song changed into an upbeat pop track.
“Oh gods, here she comes,” Annabeth muttered.
“Who?”
“Annabeth! Well, this must be the first time you’ve ever gotten on the dance floor, isn’t it?” Aphrodite said, walking over to the couple. She eyed Percy and grinned, her perfectly white teeth glinting, “And I finally get to meet your date.”
“Er, Percy, this is Piper’s mom, Aphrodite. Aphrodite, this is my, uh, boyfriend, Percy Jackson.”
Percy held out his hand, “Nice to meet you, Mrs. McLean.” Aphrodite held her out like she expected Percy to kiss it. He awkwardly shook it.
“Oh, please, call me Aphrodite. Piper’s father and I are not married.”
“Oh sorry-”
“You know, I’ve always had a knack for couples, and you two simply look perfect together. Seeing you in this particular setting. Annabeth, I’m sure you’re just itching to walk down the aisle after last year-”
“Mom! There you are,” Piper called, walking over to them with Jason in tow, “Um, Dad is telling Jason’s parents how you guys met, you better get over there-”
“Tristan knows I hate the way he tells that story, he tripped me on the red carpet…” Aphrodite muttered, stalking over to the parents’ table.
“Sorry about my mother, Percy,” Piper nudged his arm, “But, hey! You survived a conversation with her at a wedding so you’ll survive any holiday with us now.”
Percy shrugged, “I’ve dealt with worse.”
“Speaking of which,” Jason said, “You really got along well with all of us this weekend, it’s like you’ve been part of our little family this whole time.”
“Wow, thanks, man. That means a lot.” Annabeth gripped Percy’s arm tighter.
“Good, because we need a favor. Dakota’s flight is delayed in Ohio, he’s going to try to drive up tonight to make it in time for the reception tomorrow, but would you fill in tomorrow during the ceremony for him? You can walk Annabeth down the aisle and Nico can walk with Drew.”
“Oh, yeah, sure. I’d be honored,” Percy said, somewhat surprised.
“Oh, gods,” Piper said, glancing over to their parents along with other partygoers since the volume of their conversation was escalating, “We better go deal with that.”
“Hey,” Percy, nudging Annabeth who had been strangely silent during the conversation, “You okay?”
“I just need another drink. Make that two. But hey, I guess you’re entitled to the free bar now that you’re part of the wedding party.”
Percy threw his arm around her shoulders, “Coming right up, milady.” He steered her to the bar.
Annabeth was drunk. So drunk that if Percy let go of her waist, she’d probably fall right over. Good thing Annabeth had no intention of letting go of Percy any time soon.
She was all over him, and she wasn’t the only one to notice. The bridesmaids and groomsmen were crowded around the beverage table as Leo called for another round of wedding party shots. Annabeth threw her glass back confidently, aware of Luke watching her. He’d been staring at her all night. Of course, Annabeth stared right back at Luke as she looped her arms around Percy’s neck. Luke grimaced and stalked away.
A song Leo had requested came on and they all dispersed back to the dancefloor. Annabeth, in no shape to dance, dragged Percy back to their table.
“You are doing fantastic!” Annabeth said, grinning, her nose inches away from Percy’s face.
“Thanks?”
“Did you see Luke’s face? He looks like he wants to just about die. You must really look into me. Oh, gods, they all love you, especially Piper. When I tell them, it’ll break their hearts.”
“Tell them what?”
“That we broke up.”
“What?”
“Yeah, we’ll eventually have to fake break up, but we shouldn’t drag this on any longer than we have to. We can’t fake date forever or we’ll have to fake engaged, then get fake married and have a fake wedding. I’ll probably wait until they’re back from their honeymoon to tell them we broke up. I don’t know, I’ll say I got too busy at work.” Annabeth mulled over, her eyes getting glassy.
“Uh, yeah. Right...that would be believable. You choosing work over me.”
Was that a dig at her? Annabeth’s brain was too foggy for her to comprehend. She reached for her glass of wine. However, her depth perception was quite off and she knocked the glass directly into Percy’s lap. He yelped as the red liquid seeped into his slacks.
“Oh, Percy! I’m so sorry!” Annabeth jumped up and grabbed a napkin off the table and began furiously rubbing Percy’s crotch.
“I got it, I got it!” Percy protested, trying to stop her assault on his pants.
“Let me help you-”
“Annabeth, stop,” People took her wrists, struggling to pry her hands off of him and bumping into his drink spilled on Annabeth’s shoes.
“Look what you did, you’re such a Seaweed Brain! Just let me help you!”
“Look at what I did, look what you did, Wise Girl!”
Annabeth dropped the napkins, crossing her arms. Percy sighed, looking down at his now ruby stained trousers.
“What the hell is going on over here? Lover’s tiff already?” Thalia asked, sauntering over to the couple.
Percy panicked, his arm immediately went around her waist to pull Annabeth into his lap to hide the stain, “Of course not, just, uh, talking you know.”
Thalia laughed, “Relax, Percy, accidents happen. Annabeth gets clumsy when she’s drunk.”
“Hey!”
Annabeth moved back to her own seat, “I do not.”
Percy rose, grabbing a napkin to hide the stain, I’m just going to run back to the cabin and change. I’ll be right back, okay?” Percy kissed her on the forehead before walking away, whether for show in front of Thalia or habit, Annabeth had no idea.
“You guys are too cute,” Thalia said.
Annabeth smiled tightly, if anyone was going to see through this ruse, it was going to be Thalia.
“Come get another drink with me, Annie.”
At the beverage table, Thalia got a glass of wine, but Annabeth opted for water.
“Annabeth, I need to tell you something.”
Percy made sure not to lose his balance on the steep path back to the Big House from the cabins. He had a fresh pair of pants on, and was eager to get back to the party.
“Hey!”
Percy turned to see Luke Castellan trekking up the hill to meet him, “Oh, you.”
Luke stalked right up to him, “Listen, dude. I don’t know who the fuck you are-”
“Whoa, Luke, chill out,” Percy could smell the alcohol radiating off of him, giving him flashbacks to his childhood apartment locked up with his terrible first stepdad, Gabe, “You’re drunk.”
“Don’t tell me what the fuck I am. I don’t know who you are-”
“I’m Annabeth’s boyfriend-”
“Clearly, she just brought you here to make me jealous. Are you from work? You’re just some bitch architect at her firm, aren’t you?”
“Listen, Luke. I’m not doing this-”
“I’m sure she seems like she’s super into you, but she’s not over me yet.”
Percy glowered, “Fuck off, Luke. Get out of here. Sleep this off.”
Luke glared, downing the rest of his drink and stalking away.
“What is it, Thals? Is something wrong?” The two had walked over to a grove of tears to talk, further away from the rehearsal dinner.
Thalia looked like she was about to cry. Annabeth had never seen her cry.
“I’m in love with Luke.”
Annabeth blinked, she definitely just had a stroke. From the heat or from the alcohol, but, “What?”
“Annabeth, I’m in love with Luke. I’ve been in love with Luke. Since we were all younger. The whole time you guys were dating, it broke my heart every fucking day.”
“Thalia, I...I don’t know what to say.”
“I know it’s awful because we’re best friends. The three of us were best friends. It didn’t even make me happy when you guys broke up last year because I knew you were still so in love with him. Every time we talked on the phone when I moved to New Rome, I knew you weren’t over the engagement yet.”
“I-”
“But now, I see you with Percy and you’re so happy and we love Percy. Luke and I are so much closer now in New Rome, and I like him. Maybe you can finally get over Luke and-”
“I’m paying him.”
“What?”
“I’m paying him. Percy. I paid him to come here to make Luke jealous. He’s not my boyfriend.”

Soulmate AU where …
Everyone has a specific smell, but no essence gives you particular emotions, except your soulmate on.
***
The smell of your own mother for many was reassuring, but for Jason was terrifying, or at least what he was used to smell: alcohol. The child barely remembered what the fragrance of Beryl Grace was: lemon, aerosol and … What else? By now it was always covered by the revolting smell of alcohol. The blue eyes expressed all his terror, while his mother, for the umpteenth time drunk, was screaming at him things that a child couldn’t yet understand, he was only two years old after all.
Before the situation could degenerate, the door opened and a nine-year-old girl appeared in the doorway, so different from Jason that few would have understood that they were brothers. Two things united them: blue eyes and the smell of storm. «Thalia!» the blond squeaked running towards his sister and hugging her. The black-haired girl hugged him back as their mother looked at them with disdain, a look that the newcomer returned «Quiet I’m here, now we go to our bedroom, ok?» Jason nodded and took the older by the hand.
Unfortunately, their only parent didn’t seem to have appreciated Thalia’s glare, so she came up with staggering strides «Where do you think you’re going Miss?» she slurred, grabbing her by the hair with an unexpectedly solid grip. «Now the two of us will have a talk!» she jerked her away from her brother, causing panic in the two.
Jason began to cry again and tried in vain to help the girl, with the only result of being pushed to the ground. But Thalia was anything but docile, so she began to wriggle like a trapped animal. «Ah, you stupid brat!» the woman let her daughter go, bringing a hand to her face, where she had been scratched. The two brothers were already running down the corridor to their bedroom, where they locked themselves up. The screams went on for a few minutes, but in the end Mrs. Grace gave up and the last thing the two children heard from her was the door that was being slammed. That day, former actress Beryl Grace died in a car accident.
- - -
Jason didn’t see the ball coming, that explained the reason of the incessant laugh of his friends Nico and Reyna. The fact that this was one of the rare occasions in which Nico laughed so much was a great source of disappointment for the boy. Reyna wiped a tear «Are you okay Jason? What has been more painfull, the ball or falling from the clouds?» the latin-american girl scoffed him, sitting next to him and offering him a bottle of water «Aha, funny» he replied, raising his eyes to the sky and taking a sip of water. The dark haired boy let himself fall on the grass «Yes, very funny, anyway, Reyna is right, today you seem rather distracted» Jason chuckled «It must be your heady smell of chips» Nico glared at him. The smell of the boy was quite special indeed: pomegranate, chrysanthemums and fries, Will, however, swore that when he was in a bad mood he could even hear the smell of wet earth. Reyna instead smelled of ebony, magnolia and burnt, but it wasn’t a stink, it didn’t bother. Nobody knew where the essence of a person came from.
«See, you’re getting distracted again» the girl scolded him «Did something happen?» she asked, suddenly serious. The blond shook his head «No, it’s just that today I seemed to smell a peculiar fragrance, but the moment was too short» he sighed «It was the result of my imagination». Reyna and Nico exchanged a knowing look, but they didn’t say anything, not wanting to give false hope to their friend, so they changed subject and the afternoon passed quickly.
- - -
Once he returned home, Jason immediately understood that Annabeth was there with Percy and that no one else was at home. He didn’t smell the essence of Paul, nor that of Sally, nor that of Thalia. The living room smelled of lemon, ink and paper. The boy hoped he hadn’t arrived at an inconvenient time, but just then his cousin came out of the kitchen, bringing with him the smell of sea, biscuits and chlorine. «Did my arrival interrupt you two?» he asked, part joking and partly serious. Percy punched him on the shoulder, giggling «Luckily no, Annie is helping me study and now she’s upstairs. I ran off with the excuse of having to go to the bathroom, but in reality I simply could not stand it anymore» he said, letting himself fall theatrically on the sofa «As if I had not understood it by myself». Jason turned around, finding behind him the blonde smirkingly smiling «Hello Jason» the boy returned the greeting, while Annabeth was lying next to his soulmate «For today it may be enough» she sighed, referring to the study, and receiving a kiss on the cheek as a thank you. Jason smiled, he was happy that his cousin, even if they were like brothers, had a girl like that at his side. So he decided to go to his own room to leave them a bit ‘of intimacy, but as he walked away he was struck by a phrase said by the blonde «She will start school tomorrow, today she just came with her parents to discuss the last details …» for a moment the boy thought about stopping and asking her who she was talking about, but then he shook his head and continued up the stairs.
- - -
Jason closed the locker and found Reyna at his side «You don’t seem to have slept well» the girl noticed. The blond leaned his forehead against the green cabinet «Not at all» he sighed. He had spent the whole night thinking about that scent and what he had heard from Annabeth, the result: he was dead tired and had not come to any conclusion. At that time they were also reached by Nico, who sipped coffee with disappointment «This brodaglia sucks» he frowned and Jason looked at him imploring «Can I have it then?» The Italian didn’t hesitate and left the drink to the blond «This is the ‘last time I don’t do it at home» he mumbled. On that day the three began with the same course, so they headed together to the history classroom, where Mr Brunner was waiting for the class.
Once inside Jason sat down with Nico, while Reyna found herself next to Frank. However, although they were all present, there remained an empty desk, next to Gwen and Hazel were, who both looked confused, and Chiron, or Brunner, had not yet made the appeal. It was then that a girl who no one seemed to know entered. He had chocolate-colored hair cut irregularly with a few braids on the sides, the skin of a color similar to that of the Native Americans. Her clothes were simple, but his beauty was still breathtaking. But it wasn’t that thing that hit Jason, it was her smell. It invested him completely and then he understood: it was the same he had smell the day before. Even the girl looked dazed and at the moment their eyes met they both understood what was happening «Oh here your are Miss McLean, guys, welcome your new school mate, Piper McLean».
- - -
«I swear, no scent has ever affected me that way, it was a strange feeling, it just seemed … The right one» Reyna looked skeptical «How can something smell right?» Nico intervened in defense of the boy «Well, it’s not a feeling that can be explained, when you’ll meet your soulmate you’ll understand it» there was a moment of silence «That was rude» Jason said, but Reyna smiled and shrugged «No, he’s right» so she bit her slice of pizza and looked at her friends. «So, what was her fragrance?» Nico asked «The first thing I perceived was the smell of roses, much stronger than I had ever smell» the blond recalled «Then strawberries, but not the fruit itself, more like a strawberry lip gloss» he put a hand under his chin, dreamily «And then cinnamon, sweet cinnamon» he concluded. The shortest of the three pretended to vomit «You look like a teenage girl in love» the Puerto Rican girl gave him an amused glance «You talk about Will the same way».
Before the boy could reply, someone approached their table, Annabeth and Percy. The blonde took the word «Guys, I have to introduce you a person» she beamed and moved to show the newcomer «She’s my friend Piper, Piper, they’re Jason, Nico and Reyna» Piper greeted them all, but Jason noticed the look she had reserved for him. So they must have done the other two sitting at the table «Nice to meet you Piper, can you excuse us a second?» with that said, Reyna got up and, along with Nico, took away two more than confused Percy and Annabeth. The girl smiled «I guess they both know it» Jason smiled and nodded «Would you like to go out and talk?».
- - -
«What do you mean with Jason is your soulmate ?!» Annabeth shouted «Shhh» said her friend, putting a hand on her mouth «No need to scream, and anyway yes, I had already figured it out this morning when while entering the history class rain, white moss and metal have been my welcome». The curly girl for once set aside the pudor and began to bounce around the room «And so today at lunch you have spoken?» the brunette joined the euphoria «Yes, this evening we’ll go out to get to know each other better». From that moment there was no trace of tranquility in the McLean house.
- - -
By the time Jason stopped the car, Piper was ready to take off the blindfold «No, hey, wait a minute» said the boy, taking her hands. The girl snorted and the blond got out of the vehicle, then went to the side other, helping her out. «Now let me guide you. Here, sit here» he said, letting her get on the hood. Once he stood at his side, he took a deep breath «Take it off» Piper wasted no time, but once the command was done she gasped «Jason it’s…» she didn’t even find the words to describe the landscape in front of them. They were probably on one of the hills that surrounded the city, and the latter stretched before them, studded with lights. The sky was clear of clouds, and without the light pollution the stars had never been so clear. Everything was so perfect and peaceful that it seemed surreal.
The chocolate-haired girl put her head on Jason’s shoulder «If you celebrate the six months anniversary like this, I expect great things for the year one» she chuckled «With you I can have rain with a clear sky» she raised her eyes up to him and Jason got lost inside for a while, as it often happened, while he watched them fade from green to brown, then go on blue. The smell of cinnamon inebriated his mind.
Finally the blond tilted his head and let their lips meet. The boy smiled in the kiss, feeling the taste of strawberry lip gloss on his lips, while his perfume covered the cinnamon. It wasn’t passionate, it wasn’t intense. But for both it was perfect.
- - -
Piper could not wish for a better evening. They were under the stars, holding hands and everything seemed just right. As well as Jason’s scent. The brunette moved her head from the shoulder to the boy’s chest, inebriating with the smell of white musk, which made her feel safe. Then there was the rain, a perfume that Piper loved madly. The metal wasn’t strong, but the girl had come to the conclusion that it only increased when the blond was angry, that was certainly not the case.
So they stayed there, side by side, with silence acting as a soundtrack, the stars as a backdrop, love as a protagonist.

elysian: capitolo due
chapter two of my soulmate au. don’t hate me if it’s shitty. and it’s a bit shorter, only by about 700 words though so calm down Chapter One: [x]
Nico’s tattoo’s changed over time.
Most stayed the same; the baseball theme, the sun, and the pink string. Though, the string was one of the weirder one. It was never the same. At one moment was Happiness and the other Dimples. Family to Sunshine.
He loved it.
It was poetic.
He wanted to know what was one his soulmate’s arm. Maybe his sister? Mama? Maybe a music sheet. He wasn’t sure what he loved.
His seventeenth birthday was last month. February was brewing over the horizon, threatening to come and destroy his peace.
His father called. Not to apologize. Not to come back. To announce he had a sister; one in New York, Manhattan. Literally in the same city as him. He expected Nico to go and meet her at some knock-off chain or restaurants downtown.
He wanted to go.
But he didn’t want to give his father the satisfaction of knowing he still had an influence over him…
Though she didn’t deserve that.
When he woke up that morning he threw the covers from his body, wiping the sweat from his brow and climbing down the ladder. He was never sure why he sweat in his sleep, and it was pretty fucking gross. Though he couldn’t help it. It was like second nature now.
He didn’t have a shirt on, only a pair of gray sweatpants and one sock. The sock had so many holes in it, though, that he was sure it classified more as just a strip of cloth.
He opened the door to his solo bedroom (Percy lived on campus) and walked across the floor towards the kitchen.
He wasn’t that surprised to find Sally already at the dining room table.
She was passed out at her laptop, reading glasses pushed up her head. Her black hair was pulled back into a messy bun atop her head, though most of it had come undone throughout the night. She was still wearing her suit from the office, meaning she had gotten home and immediately went to work on her book. She’s been working on it for a while, Nico knows because she’s asked him many questions on how teenagers are nowadays and were on it constantly.
He admired her determination to get them out of this rickety apartment.
His hair was now long enough where he could pull it back easily, something he always loved. He was positive he was done growing (height wise, of course), now being around five ten (one hundred seventy-seven centimeters) with a lanky body. His arms were growing a bit once Sally had convinced him to join the track team. His go-to attire was a black-sometimes-gray shirt with black jeans, along with a black leather bomber jacket.
He walked barefoot across the table, prying the laptop from Sally’s unconscious body and grabbing a pillow from one of the chairs to tuck under her head. She might’ve been asleep, but he knew she would appreciate the gesture.
He tip-toed around the table, reaching into the cabinet above the stove and grabbed some things.
As he was preparing breakfast, something that he normally did on the weekends, he didn’t realize Sally was in the doorway until he was finished. He sighed loudly, over-playing how her presence frightened him (it didn’t) (she was too nice to be frightening) and showing a small smile.
“How was your night?” He asked, his Italian accent showing slightly. It was there, he wasn’t going to let it fade that easily, making his words sound a little suaver than most people in America.
“Crappy,” Sally replied, walking over and opening the fridge. “Do you know where the cream is?”
“Top shelf,” Nico replied, grabbing two plates from the rack in the corner and taking the food from the pan.
“What did Shef di Angelo cook for us today?” Sally asked, raising a brow. Nico rolled his eyes, though didn’t fight the smile from his face.
“Sausage omelets. Don’t worry,” he said at her exasperated face, “it’s not hard. Barely took fifteen minutes.”
She smiled shyly at him, taking the plate he held out to her and walking back to the counter. Nico grabbed their drinks (coffee, obviously) and followed her out.
“How’s the book doing?” He asked when they sat back down. Sally appeared to be trying to turn the laptop back on, but it was obviously dead. Even he knew that when he barely knew how most forms of social media worked. She huffed out in annoyance before digging into her plate.
“About three-fourths the way done,” she replied after swallowing her first bite. She smiled at him, pointing with her fork towards the plate. “How are you so good at making these?”
“Mama taught me,” he replied, picking at his plate as well before shoveling some into his mouth. “Said, ‘I want you to be able to treat your soulmate right, Nico. Be extravagant!’”
Sally smiled sadly at him. Nico didn’t talk about his mother much, Bianca neither. Mostly because no one really asked, truly. He wasn’t over their deaths - he wasn’t sure he ever would be, truly - but he was better than before. He could talk about them, how great they were, and how he wished they were still around.
“Your mother sounds like an amazing person,” Sally said.
“She was…”
They settled into a nice silence after that, just eating.
“Are you going to see your sister today?” Sally asked after a moment, causing Nico to pause in getting up.
“Not sure yet,” Nico said, taking his plate into the kitchen. Sally sighed, following Nico into the kitchen to continue their conversation.
“I think you should,” she said, standing beside Nico at the sink. “You’re not going to have another opportunity like this, Nico.”
“I know, I know,” he said, grabbing the dish soap. “I just - I don’t know how I’m going to react. I want to meet her - I truly do - I just don’t know if I could see her without seeing him. He did pick her over me.”
“Nico,” Sally said, grabbing Nico’s wrist and grabbing his chin, pulling it to look at her. “You know that’s not true. He just… well, I don’t have an explanation. Just, even if that is true - which it isn’t! - you shouldn’t let that stop you from meeting her.”
Nico huffed, twisting his jaw from in between her fingers and continuing to wash his plate.
“Do you always have to be right?” He asked, though his tone was muffled. He disliked (read: hated) telling people they were right, gave them too much advantage. Though Sally just smiled, patting him on the back and walking back into the dining room.
“There’s money in the drawer! Don’t take more than you need, Nico!”
+
Nico hated going outside.
He was walking down the street, towards the coffee shop he was supposed to meet this infamous sister in. His white converse hit the street in a rhythm he was trying to get lost in, trying to forget that he was going to meet his only living relative (he didn’t like to think of his father as alive) (at least, not in his head. Not to him, he wasn’t) and how he could easily make this relationship crash and burn. But, alas, the sound of bussing taxi’s and screaming children left his brain a mush or something he couldn’t keep up with.
He pulled out his headset.
He had an old and falling-apart music player he’s had with him since his fifteenth birthday. Percy had gotten it for him, saying That’s what brothers do for each other, Nico, and leaving the room.
He had downloaded all the songs he remembers Bianca used to like. And the ones his mother used to sing to him as he had a hard time falling asleep.
O Sole Mio
It was something he loved listening to. It might not have been his mother’s voice or her way of singing it, but the simplicity of the song gave him the comfort he didn’t know he needed. The basic tempo with the basic lyrics…
They were basically him.
When the doors to the coffee shop were pushed open he almost gagged.
It smelled like old coffee and paper. He could see stereotypical hipsters, alongside the normal college students and some normal people - though not many - stationed at random places throughout. He didn’t bother walking up to the front counter, just marching straight towards the back and stationing himself at a table near the window.
He wasn’t sure what Hazel looked like, and she him, just that he would be alone at a table near the back.
He stayed there for about an hour until she showed up.
He didn’t hate her for it. He actually enjoyed the time alone, spent sketching or writing on some table napkins. By the time she got there he’d gone through about twenty napkins, and was now on his last one, drawing a part of an eye.
“Uh, Nico?” He heard a small voice ask, causing his head to lift.
Holy shit, was his first thought. Followed by Those genes must’ve come from her mom because holy shit Hades isn’t that attractive. He wasn’t thinking of her as Zac Efron hot, more like the sister who you know looks better than you hot.
She had long and voluminous (that’s a thing, right?) hair, streaks of blonde all throughout the brown. She was wearing what appeared to be a school uniform, a long pleated skirt that danced about her mid-calf with a blazer and a white shirt underneath. Her eyes shone gold and danced with curiosity, one that reminded him of Bianca, and she seemed to be biting her lip so hard that he was surprised when she didn’t draw blood.
“Yeah. I mean, yes, I am Nico di Angelo.”
She put a hand to her chest, breathing heavily. “Thank god. I was beginning to think I walked into the wrong shop.”
He smiled at her small attempt to lighten the mood, gesturing to the seat across from him. “Sit, please.”
She shouldered off a bag Nico didn’t realize she had, plopping herself in the seat across from him. Their chairs were pretty tall, and he could tell she was swinging her legs under the table. She was small enough to where it was easy for to do it when Nico could stand up easily.
They sat in awkward silence for a few moments.
“So, I’m assuming your Hazel?” He asked, inwardly cringing at how delicate his voice sounded. Hazel seemed glad that he broke the silence, since she obviously had no idea how, and nodded.
“Yeah, Hazel Levesque.”
“Well, what brings you to New York, Hazel Levesque?”
She raised a brow at his odd way of talking, though didn’t bother questioning him on it. “Uh, I go to a Catholic school about an hour from here. Marie thought it was a good idea to get me away from New Orleans.”
Nico raised a brow. “You’re Catholic?”
Hazel shook her head quickly, taking a hair tie from her wrist and using it to tie her hair back.
“No. Marie thought it would be a good idea to, quote, Get good influence on me before I turn into Piper.”
Nico raised a brow, twirling the straw on his tea (he’d gotten it about half an hour ago) to keep his hands from shaking. He was done with coffee for the day.
“Okay, question one: whose Marie? And two: whose Piper?”
Hazel thumped herself on the head, sighing loudly. “Sorry, I forgot.”
“It’s fine,” Nico reassured her, crossing his legs under the table and tapping his fingers on the table. “I’d do the same.”
She smiled at him, causing her teeth to shine against her light brown skin tone.
“Well, Marie is my mother. She likes to be called Marie. Says it ‘demands attention and focus’, whatever that means.”
Nico smirked.
“Piper’s my best friend. She goes to my school. She isn’t Catholic either, though this is the closest school her father could get for her since she’s been kicked out of so many.”
Nico snorted, and almost toppled out of his chair when Hazel shot him a warning look.
“S-Sorry. Just, uh, how many schools has she been kicked out of?”
Hazel raised a brow and sounded a bit hesitant to answer. “I think around four. What’s it to you?”
Nico bit his inner lip, trying to suppress a smile.
“I’ve been to six if it’s worth anything. Principals don’t really appreciate graffiti art on the sides of their offices.”
Hazel laughed, and Nico wasn’t sure what to do. He was never considered a funny guy; morbid, yes. Antisocial and disturbed, yeah. But, making someone laugh? That was new.
“Wow, I can’t see you doing that. Actually,” she took a closer look at his face, as though analyzing him. He shifted uncomfortably, as though her gaze was making him uncomfortable, but she didn’t seem to notice. “You have a mischievous glint. So, I guess I can see you doing that.”
Nico blinked for a moment.
“Wow. I didn’t know you could read people.”
Hazel shrugged, taking a sip of coffee she’d bought before coming back. “Yeah. Marie’s a psychic supposedly, so I guess it’s hereditary.”
Nico licked his lips, rolling his head to crack his neck. Hazel winced at the sound, though Nico didn’t notice.
“Speaking of that,” he said, placing both his feet on the ring of his chair. “How can we look nothing alike?”
Hazel scrunched her brow. “No idea. I like to think of Hades as the god himself; a selfish, uh, dude with no DNA and no cares.”
Nico was the one to laugh now. They were drawing eyes from around the shop but didn’t care, too invested in their conversation to care.
“You’ve never met him?” He asked, stirring his drink again. Hazel shook her head.
“No. You have?”
Nico nodded his head solemnly. “I hate to say I have.”
Hazel scoffed. “Why so?” She had an agitated tone, one Nico has heard many times before.
Nico looked up at her, though didn’t move his head from being downcasted for a moment. Slowly he sat back up straight. “He’s a selfish asshole that left me for dead.”
Hazel’s eyes shot open wide, suddenly sitting up straight as well. Maybe Nico was laying it on too thick, but he couldn’t find himself to care. He hated Hades. With every inch of his being.
“What?” Hazel asked, now seeming a bit confused and seemed to be seething a bit.
We may not have looks in common, he thought to himself, but we sure do have some matching personality traits.
“He hasn’t told you?”
Hazel shook her head.
“Well, I’m not from America, first of all.”
Hazel rolled her eyes, though not in annoyance, and smirked a bit. “I could tell, from the accent. What, Italy?”
Nico shook his head. “Venice, to be specific. There, uh,” he looked to Hazel. Was he alright to tell a stranger his entire life story?
Not a stranger, Nico told himself. A sibling.
“He lived with us. In Venice, that is.” Nico knew that was irrelevant, but he was trying to distract himself from the words coming from his mouth. “He lived with me, my mother, and my sister, Bianca.” Nico could tell Hazel wanted to interrupt, but she kept her mouth shut, letting him continue to talk.
“Let’s just say… I loved him. As much as I regret it, I loved the guy. He was my role model, someone I wanted to model myself after. Well, not entirely, but how he was so successful, and how he still made time for my mother and I even though he had a busy-ass schedule, he could still see us.”
Nico bit his lip and blinked repeatedly, trying to get rid of the tears threatening to run down his cheeks. No crying, he reminded himself.
“We lived in harmony. All of us except Bianca and him, anyway. Bianca’s my sister. Full blooded, not half, you know? Anyway, they always had a rocky relationship. They avoided each other, never talked often unless mama asked them both a question… I never fully understood. I remember,” he laughed bitterly, “how she would always tell me I was too young to understand. How, how she would tell me when I was older…”
He felt something hit his hand and looked down to see Hazel’s hand. She had spindly fingers, one built for a piano, not for comforting a crying teenage boy.
“Sorry,” he said, taking his hand from Hazel’s grip and wiping his eyes. “I’m a mess.”
“No,” Hazel said, taking both his hands in his and squeezing reassuringly. He stared at her for a moment, trying to process what was happening, before she began talking again.
“Continue. I’m curious.”
He smiled bitterly again.
“Anyway, it was a normal day, the day he left. Well, at least it started out normal. I woke up Bianca from our beds, we ran down the stairs and ate omelets, then we ran out to the town. Venice is different from here. America. We would run down the crowded streets, holding hands and singing songs at the tops of our lungs. Sometimes another person - a neighbor, or perhaps a student Bianca knew - and we would just… be ourselves. Bianca never sat back and watched. She got up and did. I loved her for that. So, so many other reasons, but that was… that was a major one.”
He cleared his throat again, and Hazel squeezed his hands.
“That night, our house caught fire.”
Hazel took a sharp breath, though didn’t tell him to stop. He dropped her gaze, instead studying her hands. He didn’t notice he was talking, only seeing how her hands weren’t calloused more boney. How she seemed like such a nice girl, too nice to be Hades, daughter.
Except for Bianca.
Bianca was the one exception.
“And, when they tried to contact him the next day, he was gone. No one could find him anywhere. Not even the fucking NSA could find him. But, apparently, they were looking in the wrong country…”
Hazel stood up from her chair, walking around and hugging him tightly. Nico froze. He didn’t get hugged often from anyone that wasn’t Sally. She buried her face in his collarbone, and he had to turn so they weren’t at such an awkward angle.
“I’m so, so sorry. And I know it doesn’t matter, what I say now, but god I’m sorry.”
“I live with my - I guess our - aunt at about a forty minute walk from here.” He sniffled. “She - she was the one to convince me to come here. No offense, obviously, but I was just scared…”
Hazel smiled sadly and pulled back to look at his face. He was shocked to see she was about to start crying as well.
“It’s fine. Piper and Leo were the ones to convince me to come, as well. I was scared that he would still be with you, and I would storm out - I just, I don’t get out much.”
Nico smiled sadly.
“Neither do I.”

Will’s life was getting a bit more exciting.
He woke up at the crack of dawn - like always - and threw back his covers. Austin was gone, on his final year of college, and Kayla was still asleep. He didn’t need to check to know that was the case.
He put on his clothes, which consisted of a ratty old red flannel and some white shirt from a band he didn’t know existed, paired with some old blue cut-off jeans he bought a few weeks ago. His hair was freshly cut, short against his sides but a bit longer on top, and his black converse.
Then he was out the door.
Will had to pick up multiple jobs to help his mom pay the bills; they were good, she would say, and Will knew that was always correct. Naomi was a nurse, so they were always good in the money department, but he felt like he was taking too much and not giving enough.
He worked at a small, family-owned restaurant down the street from his house. The family was amazing, though he felt like they were too invested with soulmates. They were constantly walking up to him, asking for a glimpse at his tattoo, since everyone in their family had already found their soulmates and they quote, Wanted to live vicariously through you as you search for your one and only true love.
Will still didn’t understand the hype completely, though he was beginning to understand.
He saw a couple at a McDonald's a few days ago. Weird, he knows, but just listen:
They were sitting, hands interlocked in the middle of their table, sharing a Happy Meal. As Will walked over, he thought they were just friends, though then he caught a glance at each other’s names on their arms.
And suddenly, he realized that he wanted that. Maybe not anytime soon, but at some point.
He just still wasn’t sure why he wanted it so badly.
Yeah, they were your soulmate. But, they’re just people. And yes, he loves his sister and his mother and his brother with all of his heart. He just couldn’t imagine feeling that and something more for another person.
It just seemed too unrealistic.
As he swung the door open to the restaurant, he was pretty surprised to find it already partially filled. They were mostly elderly couples, people who didn’t remember a time before their soulmates, and the occasional one with a grandchild. He could see one woman in the very back with her grandchild, a young girl who seemed to be in her early teens, probably only thirteen.
I can’t be more than three years older than her.
Will’s sixteenth birthday wasn’t that long ago, so it seemed like a logical estimate on her age.
“Solace!”
Will’s head snapped in her general direction, causing his neck to crack painfully. Lou Ellen, the owner’s daughter, came running out of the back bakery and full speed at him. When they crashed Will almost fell over, catching them both at the last second.
“Will! Solace, Will, we need to talk.”
“Oh god.”
Lou pulled him into the back room, away from unsuspecting eyes, and almost punched him when they got some privacy, but thankfully Will dodged.
“Lou! What the hell - ”
“Your tattoo.” She said, pointing at Will’s forearm. “Let me see it.”
“What makes you think that slapping me will get you anywhere in the soulmate department?”
She just glared at him. Will huffed, pulling back his flannel and showing his forearm. Lou jumped, grabbing his arm and inspecting it closely.
“Holy shit! You’ve got a new one,” she said, pointing at his arm. Will raised a brow, twisting around to try and get a glimpse of his mark. Apparently, all his tattoos shifted during the night, making a new face in his arms.
“Jesus Christ…” Will muttered, moving his arm around.
It was a picture of an attractive woman, one that was probably around Will’s age, with long brown hair and glowing gold eyes. The tattoo seemed to be constructed of stained glass, giving her a new, vibrant light beside the simply worded tattoos of the other two women. This girls name, though, was in English.
Hazel Levesque
She was a different skin tone to the other two - from what Will could tell, anyway - so they weren’t related. She seemed to be in mid-laugh, causing her face to seem much younger than it probably was, so Will wasn’t positive on her age, though he was probably around the correct age range.
“That’s… Lou covered her mouth. “That’s amazing.”
“It is,” Will muttered, barely loud enough to hear himself, and continued staring for a few moments.
“Will! Lou! What the hell are you guys doing back here?” Lou’s father, an older, burly man, burst through the doors to see them both staring at his new tattoo, He sighed, waving the two off back to their jobs.
Will couldn’t take his mind off the tattoo.
It was different from the other two faces. It seemed new; refurbished. The other two seem warned down, as though older.
He decided the newest tattoo was his favorite one.
He left early that morning with Lou in tow. He was never positive why he decided to work before school started was ever a good idea, but nonetheless, he still had classes to attend.
Lou and Will didn’t have many classes together, only two, and they weren’t the most talkative people. Popular? I guess you could say that yeah. But willingly? Hell no. Will liked to stay in the background, play his baseball and get good grades so he could go to NYU’s medical program, and then maybe, maybe move there afterward. He’s always wanted to go to New York. He liked how the city never slept, that there was always something new to do or see. It was different from his suburban neighborhood, something he always thought he needed. Different.
Maybe he’d even find his soulmate there.
+
Will wasn’t the biggest fan of crowds.
He enjoyed being out and about, but not being surrounded by the same people every day after school.
He liked his teammates, don’t get him wrong, but it’s just… boring. He wanted something new. Something exciting. Something that would make his stomach turn and twist and make him want to vomit. But, vomit rainbows, and not his bowels.
He was practicing his swinging, something he was never good at. He was a better outfielder. But, of course, they already had more than enough outfielders, so he was left at either batting or pitching.
I guess it’s something exciting to put on my college application, he tried to give himself something positive to think of, but that just made it worse.
He wanted to leave, and he wanted to do it now. Not in two years, not in two months, he wanted to go now. He was getting sick of the same old house on the same old hill, with the same old friends and the same old school.
He was sick of the old.
He wanted something new.
But, for now, at least, he was just going to have to stay put.
It’s not like he gets to plan his own life out, anyway. And when would his mom let him go anywhere that wasn’t the same old house until college?
He didn’t have a choice.
So, he just swung his bat.

Zodiac Sign: Taurus yo
Height: 5′ 5′ (I think?)
Orientation: Bisexual, with a heavy, HEAVY preference for girls. Like if you had a pie chart of how much I like girls vs how much I like boys, it would be like 90% to 10%. Idk why exactly. Probably has something to do with every guy I’ve ever had a crush on being a douche in one way or another (and rejecting me every time lol) But girls are soft and pretty and wonderful I love them so much. I love my girlfriend more than anything in the world. I wouldn’t trade her for anything.
Ethnicity: I am very white. Scottish, Polish, and German, though none of that really holds any significance in my life. I don’t have any family traditions except for unhappy marriages
Favorite Fruit: Pineapple probably. I really like grapes though and Pink Lady apples too. Oh and cantaloupe and clementines!
Favorite season: Autumn. All the way autumn.

Funny thing is I actually don’t like pumpkin spice anything except for pumpkin pie guess I’ve gotta up my white girl game
Favorite Book: What the fuck kind of question is this. You come into my house. And you ask me to pick between my children.
This answer is really, really complicated. I love so many books for so many different reasons. I love Harry Potter because it’s what got me into reading longer series. I love Binge by Tyler Oakley because it helped me be more open-minded and was a big part in helping me discover what my sexuality was and that I was okay. I love The Hobbit because it was a book that helped me escape life and that taught me that caring about home and hearth is a good thing to do. I love the Warrior cats series because I fucking love cats and it was one of my first introductions to more adult situations (in terms of violence, death, grief, and loss). I love The Giver because it made me cry my eyes out. I love The Martian because it made me laugh. I love every Shel Silverstein book ever written because they made me feel like a kid again and that being a child at heart is okay. I love Journal 3 because Stanford Pines is a character I love with all my heart. I love the Percy Jackson series and most of its spin offs because I love mythology and modern aus. I love the Septimus Heap series because it was such a different, wonderful, beautiful approach to magic and wizardry that made me feel warm inside. I loved Entwined because...I just loved Entwined. (It’s a twisted fairy tale kind of deal with The 12 Dancing Princesses and one of the best things I’ve ever, ever read, hands down). I love A Series of Unfortunate Events because I have a dark sense of humor and because it makes me feel better about my life.
Books were basically my only friends growing up. People didn’t like me because I was fat, or because I didn’t want to play outside very much, or because I had only ever really talked to and hung out with my mom and my step-dad, so I had a more mature sense of humor and personality overall.. Friends came and went, but books never went anywhere. Books stayed. Junie B Jones always stayed with me. Jack and Annie always went on magical adventures that let me learn about history. Every character I met along the way stayed with me, even if they died, because I could pick them up off of a shelf and read their adventures again. I don’t read as much as I used to, because I spend a lot of time on the computer, but I’m working to change that. Books have always been an escape for me, and I’ll continue to love their stories until I die.
Favorite Flower: Roses! It’s a tie between red and pink roses. I also really like tulips!
Favorite scent: My girlfriend’s perfume. I think it’s sweetpea or something? Idk, but it always smells really nice. And I just like the way my clothes smell after I come home from spending the night at her house. It’s like her perfume, laundry detergent, and something that’s either wood or stale cigarette smoke.
Favorite color: Pink. Soft, pastel pinks.
Favorite animal: cats, red pandas, owls, wolves, penguins, cats, dogs (pugs in particular, I LOVE pugs!!!!), foxes, moose, narwhals, dolphins, orcas, eagles, hummingbirds, blue jays, orioles, lions, tigers, basically any big cats...I just love animals. If it’s soft, fluffy, or cute? Fuck yeah I love it
Coffee, Tea, or Hot Chocolate: As much as I love coffee...tea, probably. It’s just so relaxing to sit curled up under a blanket with a cup of tea and relaxing. Plus my girlfriend and I make tea whenever I go over to her house, so it holds a special place in my heart :)
Average Sleep Hours: Okay, so...if I ever got up on time, I’d be getting like five hours of sleep a night, which is fine. But I oversleep. Every. Fucking. Day. So usually seven or eight.
Cat or Dog person?: Cats. I love dogs with all my heart and I want one someday, but if I had to choose between a cat and a dog I’d choose a cat because
1.  TOE BEANS
2. purring
3. the kneading thing they do?
4. I love love LOVE the sound of a cat meowing. so cute. so gentle.
5. cat loaf
6. smaller and easier to manage
7. don’t have to walk them
8. if they need to pee in the middle of the night they just. use the litter box. you don’t need to get up and let them out

i just,,,, have a lot of love for fictional characters,,,, there are more I’m sure, but I can’t think of any
I connected with a lot of these guys on a deep personal level. Like with Amethyst, I understand why she feels the way she does because I’ve gone through struggles of self-hatred and thinking I was a mistake. I love them all, but there are those few who I just feel like they were...made for me I guess.
Number of Blankets you sleep with: Just my comforter, but before I got my space heater in my room I’d sleep with two blankets, an electric blanket, and my comforter. My room used to be an attic, so it has like no insulation. Plus the heating ducts that go to my room are SUPER shitty, so barely any heat comes out of my vents. Now I’m just used to being cold XD But I don’t like sheets D: Even in the summer, I have to have my big comforter...sheets are too flimsy. Idk, I find the weight of a comforter or heavy blanket comforting.
When I was little though, I remember taking every blanket I owned and piling them on my bed in the winter...and I slept in a sleeping bag, on my bed, under those blankets! XD I miss that sleeping bag. It was a really pretty blue and was really warm...
Ideal Trip: going to New Zealand or England or the French countryside or somewhere with a lot of greenery. Staying somewhere where I can relax and stay in bed all day if I want to or go find things to do in the city or town or wherever is close by. My girlfriend being with me and being able to relax somewhere quiet with her where I can watch the sunlight stream across her face every morning and kiss her all over her face until she wakes up. Somewhere I can relax and not worry about what tomorrow brings; somewhere I can let my troubles float away.

THERE'S NO PLACE LIKE HOME - PERCY/NICO AU HIGH SCHOOL - CHAPTER XI
Hello, how you doing? Looks like I had some time in the the end. I hope you like it. I had a lot of fun writing this chapter.
Good reading!
Previous chapters: CHAPTER I / CHAPTER II / CHAPTER III / CHAPTER IV / CHAPTER V / CHAPTER VI / CHAPTER VII / CHAPTER VIII / CHAPTER IX / CHAPTER X
"Beautiful.’’
Nico ignored Percy who was lying on the bed and finished drying his hair with the towel, combing it back. He put on his t-shirt, pulled it down and buttoned his pants, pulled the zipper up and looked at himself in the mirror.
If it were up to him, he would’ve stayed in the kitchen, where he belonged, and finished helping with the preparations for the party later. Unfortunately, right after the wedding proposal, Sally had kicked him out of the kitchen, pushing him away from the stove while Percy had picked him up and carried him up the stairs until they reached Percy's bedroom. And with no choice, still full of flour in his clothes, Nico went into the bathroom without complaining, taking a long bath in the tub and then looking for clothes that still fit him. Apparently, Percy hadn't thrown away the things he’d left behind, like his favorite black jeans or his t-shirts with jokes and superheroes printed on them, or even his leather jacket, which his mother used to wear before the cancer prevented her from getting out of bed.
He admitted that the shirts that were previously baggy and reached his thighs now fit perfectly well, although a little tighter than he would like, contouring his not-so-masculine curves; apart from his broad shoulders and height, the rest was very... very thin in some parts and slender in others, impossible not to notice in those tight clothes. Nico didn't even like to think about it. Maybe that was why Percy loved so much holding his waist.
‘’Since when did you have those muscles, hm?’’ Percy asked again with good humor.
Muscles? He didn't see many. And of course, Percy could be able to fool him if it was a few years ago. Now? Nico could hear the pure jealousy behind the laughter.
"I don't know. I had free time in Italy.”
In fact, life in Verona was much easier and more uncomplicated than this first week back here. It’s like, when Percy was involved, trouble and strong emotions were guaranteed. He didn't even know why he was still complaining, things had always been like that.
‘’Don't make that face. Today is the day to celebrate. Or at least that's according to Sally.’’
"Sure.” Nico rolled his eyes and finally put on his jacket, slipping his feet inside his high-top sneakers that had also been left in Percy's wardrobe. Now, Nico was back in the past and with the complete look. He almost felt nostalgic; If it weren't for the anxiety and constant self-doubt, Nico would miss those times. "Let's go.’’
"Hold on. I bought you something.’’
‘’Another gift? What will it be now? A car?’’
‘’Do you need another one?’’ But Percy was smiling. Nico watched him get up and walk around the bed, opening the dresser drawer next to the bed. ‘’It's nothing expensive.’’
"What is that?’’ This time, the object in Percy's hands aroused his curiosity. He could see what it was, the thing was that Percy had never given him anything like this, which made him come closer and take the diary from Percy's hands, opening the hardf, black leather cover, finding simple, straight lined pages, noting a dedication on the inside of the cover, thar said: “To make sure your thoughts and ideas never get lost”. “Per?’’
“I thought about what you said… about not being able to express yourself.’’
"Express myself?’’
"In bed.’’ Percy said and then held his hands over the diary, making Nico face him. “I know how…how scary things can be from time to time. I want this diary to be a way for us to talk without needing all that… drama.”
Percy used the word “drama”, but for Nico it was more… “humiliation”.
“Are you going to write too?’’
"Yeah.”
"And you'll... read everything? Everything I write?”
"Only if you want.”
Nico stopped for a moment and looked at Percy, his fiancé, the love of his life, the person who always accepted him unconditionally. Percy seemed so calm and confident, so sincere… no one before had ever tried so hard to understand him.
“It doesn't have to be about that.’’ Percy said again. “You can write about anything. Or something you want me to know about.”
"Anything? Really?”
"What's wrong?” Then, Percy smiled again, carefree. “What do you still have to hide from me?”
That was the moment where the mortification took him by surprise. Nico looked away and stared at the diary they both still held, the rings shining on their fingers. If only Percy knew… Nico didn't know if it was the best or the worst idea Percy had ever had.
“Look, you don't need to force yourself. Let's leave the diary by the bed and if you feel like it, it will be here. Is that all right?’’
Percy smiled at him once again, took the diary from his hands and placed it on top of the dresser, less than a foot away from them. But that was the problem, Nico already felt the urge to flip through that notebook and write whatever came to mind, like a free writing exercise, only more stranger and embarrassing. He felt like writing and letting it all come out, like he hadn't done in years.
"No, I want it! Gimme.” And like a little kid, Nico reached out and took the diary, hugging it to his chest, feeling satisfied as he once again held that black leather notebook.
“I'm glad you liked it.’’ And acting like the daddy they both refused to admit, even though they were both the same age, Percy hugged him tightly and kissed his hair, saying: “Good boy.”
And, Of course, this had the expected effect. Nico hid his face in Percy's shoulder and groaned once again, mortified, berating himself for feeling so good and so happy with those words. Or with the care that Percy continued to show him day after day.
***
Before they left for the party, Nico put the diary away with the now empty ring box in his backpack and held Percy's hand, making Percy's chest warm with Nico's absent-minded gesture. It wasn't the most romantic or affectionate gesture he had ever seen, but Nico did everything with so much care that Percy was sure he had made the right choice by waiting until that moment. He knew that these attitudes, as much as his or Nico's, came from a painful place; of loss and abandonment, things that they both felt firsthand and wanted to avoid at all costs. That's why every moment that served to bring them closer together would be a reason to celebrate. Percy still couldn't believe that he had finally proposed to Nico. They were going to get married! There was a time when Percy thought he would never see Nico again, and even less that they would be so happy and content together, even if the little boy hid it behind an angry pout and the usual bad mood and insecurity. And who was he to judge how other people behaved when he was the worst of them? All Percy knew was that he had a plan, and he would do everything he could to make it reality. That’s why he smiled at Nico, took back the hand offered to him and the next thing he knew, one of his mother's helpers was guiding him to the outside of the house where tables were set up in the garden and people were already walking around the improvised dance floor next to a buffet table divided into three rows organized by sweet, cold and hot dishes, and there wasn't even all the food he had seen in the kitchen earlier.
“You guys went overboard this time.”
"It’s nothing out of the ordinary." Nico shrugged.
"Clearly. I wanted to--”
“Nico! I finally found you!”
Percy sighed and gave up, nnow that they were in the middle of all those people, it would be impossible to keep Nico's attention to himself. As if in slow motion, he saw Clarisse approach them in hurried steps and grab Nico in a bear hug, pulling him away from him.
"How long were you going to ignore me?’’
"I wasn't ignoring you!" Nico shouted back, but hugged Clarisse as tightly as she had done, closing his eyes with pleasure.
"Why didn't you tell me you were back? And when did that happen?’’
“It’s been… five days ago? Six?”
“I bet it's his fault.”
“Clare!”
"Don't give me that. I want to know everything!”
"So you can tell Annabeth later? No, thank you very much.”
"That's not true. I did it once and now--”
It seemed there was no way around it. Percy left Nico with Clarisse, watching the people approach the noisy pair, and went back into the house, finding his mother now in a long black dress and high heels, although she was still pacing the kitchen, giving orders and checking the still-working ovens.
"Mother.”
“Oh, Percy, darling.” His mother came up to him in quick steps and squeezed his cheeks, then kissed them. "You could have told me before. I didn't have time to prepare anything.”
“I didn't have time either.”
That was the moment Percy hugged his mother and let himself relax.
“What is it, darling?”
“I don't think Nico wants to be with me.”
“Percy, that doesn't make any sense. Why would you think that?”  Then his mother touched his face again and looked at him affectionately.
“He changed. We seem to fight every step of the way, and now he has so many friends and things to do…”
“Percy.” Now his mother looked disappointed. “We talked about that. You need help?”
“No.” He denied, walking away. Percy didn't want to go back to endless hours at the psychiatrist or taking medication.
“Honey, Nico is growing up and you should too.”
"I know, I know. It's just... he's telling me so many things... I didn't know he felt that way.”
"That is great. That means he trusts you, right?”
Deep down, Percy knew this. He just wanted someone to tell him everything would be okay. But it wasn't what his mother was doing. As always, she told him what he needed to hear and not what he wanted to hear.
"What should I do?”
“Nothing you don't want to.”
“What if he only marries me out of pressure?”
“Percy!” Sally grabbed his shoulders and laughed in his face. “My little boy is growing up so fast. I remember how you ran away from any responsibility and now here we are, you worrying about someone else's well-being?”
“Mom! I'm serious!”
“Look, from my point of view, I've never seen Nico so happy or calm. He doesn't seem to be forcing himself into anything.”
“He said he didn't want to date me and I insisted! What if he told the truth?”
“Honey, none of this is your responsibility. He accepted of his own free will. Even if you want to protect him, it's Nico's decision. Whether he accepts it or not, even if in the future he decides to leave once again, it won't be your fault.”
"So whose is it?”
"It's nobody's fault. These are things that happen and we have to accept them. And being honest? It's about time, right? If you had talked to Nico, none of this would have happened.”
“You... you ruined the surprise. I should have talked to him alone.”
“Exactly, darling. Don't you see? The less you say, the more Nico will pull away from you.”
"Do you really think so?”
"Believe me. I know all about failed relationships. Don't create distance between you, okay?”
"I would never do that.”
"No? If you don't say what you feel, Nico might think you don't care.”
"I--”
“Have you talked to him in the last few days?”
"Yes, but--”
“How did he react?”
Percy wanted to roll his eyes. His mother was right, as always. Nico had been sincere back when he opened up. The worst thing was thinking that Nico had kept everything inside his chest, thinking that Percy wouldn't accept him or that Percy didn't care. At least the time he'd wasted at the psychiatrist had been useful for something.
"You are right.” Percy admitted, looking around at the people who continued walking back and forth. “I didn't want to admit defeat.”
"Darling.”
“I made Nico leave before and I don't want to be the one to blame again. Is it so bad to be careful to not destroy things again?”
"Of course not. I understand.”
“Do you really understand?” Percy then turned to face his mother again. “If you understand, can you stay out of this?”
“Fine, I won't interfere. But you should pay attention to who your friends are.”
"What does that mean?”
“That blonde friend of yours is at the party. I thought you guys didn't talk anymore?”
"Who? Annabeth?”
"She herself.”
“I didn't invite her.”
So, who invited her?” Sally and Percy stared at each other for long moments, not understanding what was happening, until Percy snapped and turned his back on his mother, going back outside. In the garden, he finds a scene he thought he would never see, Annabeth with her long golden hair, shining in the sun, looking furious and Nico, with torn pants and a black t-shirt, staring at her as if she were an earthworm about to be trampled over.
***
"What's going on here?”
The next thing Percy knew, he was standing in the middle of the crowd, seeing Annabeth and Nico staring back at him.
As if by magic, the atmosphere changed. Nico came to his side and held onto his hand, lowering his head and placing it on Percy’s shoulder like the most obedient and well-behaved little boy, while Annabeth stood there, head held high, looking even more furious with the display of affection.
“It’s nothing, Per. We were talking about old times. Isn't it, Anne?” Nico smiled, hugging him around the waist and suddenly there was silence, even the waiters and kitchen assistants were silent.
“Are you drunk, by any chance?”
"Me? Never!” He looked at Nico and Nico made a cute pout. "I would never do that.”
To prove his theory, Percy leaned over Nico and kissed him right there. This time, Nico didn't seem embarrassed at all. The little boy grabbed him tightly by the back of the neck and let himself be kissed, opening his mouth in the most shameless display of affection.
“My baby is jealous, hm?”
“I don't know what you're talking about.” But the blush on Nico's face said what Percy needed to know.
"Why don't we talk somewhere quiet? But before guiding Nico away from the crowd, Percy turned to Annabeth: “You are not invited. Go away.”
“But, Percy! You promised!”
"I didn’t promise anything.”
“Your lying--”
“I won't repeat it.”
With that, he took Nico by the hand and led him into the house, leaving behind a curious crowd and a blonde foaming with anger.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So, I'm enjoying their progress. This time I thought it was more interesting to give Percy this insecurity and Nico a bit more of impulsiveness. I imagine that this way the characters seem more real and interesting. I hope you're enjoying it as much as I am. See you next time!
