My kin/family all use Tumblr-
Molly: Every single odd number has an “e” in it
Peter 1: LISTEN-
Luz: Not all of them. 30 and 50 aren’t spelled with the letter "e" in it…
Amity: Oh titan-
Anne: …If you can split a number in half evenly, it’s even. 30 and 50 are odd
Amity: -_-’
Anne: (15+15=30 25+25=30)
Luz: 25+25 = 30? You sure about that??
Andrea: Lord have mercy….
Hooty: Bye
Andrea: 3 days into 2018 smh
Marcy: LMAOOOOOOO
Libby: One Three Five Nine And since everything else after that is a variant of these numbers, then all odds have the letter "e"
Peter 3: YOU FORGOT SEVEN!!
Willow: It keeps getting worse
Gus: LMAOOO WHAT IS GOING ON???
Sprig: My head hurts…
Hunter: This is why that Tumblr University shit was the dumbest idea ever just look at this
Ivy: Who failed yall?
Peter 2: IM SCREAMING
Scratch: You whole ass forgot about eight – a number with an e and is pretty fucking even
King: Why would 8 be brought up if it’s EVEN in a post about ODDS??????? The post said “every single ODD number has an ‘e’ in it” not “every single number with an ‘e’ is odd” what the fuck?
Darryl: 3 days until 2019 and we’re still here
Sprig: Happy New year’s Eve!
Andrea: I’m going to bring this flaming dumpster into 2019 so future generations can see what a mistake Tumblr was
Marcy: Er, guys two is odd and doesn’t have an e. Just saying…
Willow: Did you deadass just try to tell me two is odd? I’m fucking crying throw the whole website away
Peter 3: Reblogging for the last one
Maddie: The one thing I notice is that no matter how much you want to throw this site away, you just can’t
Polly: TWO IS ODD?!?! PFFFTT I’M SCREAMING
Pump: Wait what about zero that’s an odd number, no?
Skid: Ok but hear me out fifty and thirty make up for the fact they have no e by the way they are pronounces third-E fifth-E
Sasha: Bro why do 30 and 50 matter? THEY’RE FUCKING EVEN!!
Hunter: What the actual fuck is happening!?
Marcy: 1 is an even number
Willow: I’m gonna smack you
Libby: -30 and -50 have an e in them
Peter 3: Wait why are we so quick to throw away the Zero idea?
Polly: Zero isn’t a number
Luz: It can’t be divided by two though, can it?
Sasha: It can??? 0/2=0??
Amity: OD NUMBERS onE thrEE fivE sEvEn ninE
Luz: OD numbers huh babe?
Anne: Anything that ends with a 0,2,4,6,8 is even and the rest is odd (1,3,7,9) stop freaking out y’all
Peter 1: YOU FORGOT 5
Andrea, who's lost braincells at this point: DUDE WHAT ABOUT FOUR???
Sprig: What about it?????
Andrea: THAT DOESN’T HAVE E IN IT
Sprig: THAT’S BECAUSE IT’S EVEN?????
Peter 2: A R E Y O U G U Y S O K A Y ?
Darryl: 21 days away from 2020, folks
Andrea: Please tell me I can start the new freaking decade with a post arguing about something as stupid as this. Please...
Peter 1: This is art at its finest
Anne: One week to 2020 dudes
Andrea: I’m so done
Marcy: I'm so upset that even with all the “zero is odd” “no it’s not” stuff no one bothered to point out… It doesn’t matter. Zero, 0, zEro
Libby: But zero isn’t odd. It’s fucking the lack of a number. It’s neutral. It’s empty. There’s nothing there
Marcy: Zero is a number
Scratch: A definition of an even number is that it can be divided by 2 and the result is a whole number. Since you cannot divide zero, you cant divide it by 2 and that means that zero is an odd number. zEro, onE, thrEE, fivE, sEvEn, ninE, ElEven, and then the suffix -teen and every other odd number in english contains the names of the numbers 1 to 9
Libby: Zero is not a goddamn odd number what. Even i know that and i’m not good at math. Also you can divide 0 by 2, it’s 0, you literally just divide it and you just get 0 out oh my gosh. You can’t divide by zero but you can divide zero
Willow: Quote from this one “So, technically, [zero] is even. In fact, it is the most even number there is.” Also does anybody on here ever look anything up or? This is making my brain physically hurt, DEAR TITAN
Peter 3: NO. NO FUCK YOU ALL WE ARE NOT BRINGING THIS SHIT INTO 2020. WHOEVER BROUGHT THIS BACK DID IT ON PURPOSE AND I WILL FUCKING HUNT YOU DOWN FOR SPORT FUCK YOU. FUCK THIS
Peter 1: This post was an absolute train wreck and I’m cursing my followers with it
Sasha: Damn you, spider boi!
Marcy: “Anyone can do math, even gay people”
King: Bitch, are you sure???
Marky: This post is amazing. The Chaos is pleased
Marcy: WTF?!
Hunter: Is this fucking number discourse?!
Ivy: Do you have an issue with that?
Hunter: No but just out of all the things it’s about numbers. Just that it’s weird is all
Maddie: The internet is weird, you should be used to that by now
Peter 1: Yeah that’s true
Sprig: At least the cum soup post was less weird than this
Peter 2: Uhh I’m sorry the what?
Gus: Oh boy here we go again
Willow: How many times have I done this so far?
Peter 3: I’ve done this like…three, maybe four times so far
Willow: Do you really want to know?
Marcy: You can turn back now
Amity: Please why did I have to see this post I had an extra class today and my brain is already dead I don’t have enough brain cells for this
Molly: I had never seen this before today and I told my grandma about it and she’s shaking her head in both humor and disappointment. Good job everyone!
Peter 1: This is the longest post but yall forgot 6
Luz: And 1,3,5,7, and 9 are odd numbers. 5 is an honorary even number, but it is still odd.
Anne: Happy 2020 everyone! Everyday we stray further from god.
Amity: Two years later and we’re still… Tumblr
Peter 1: Reminds me of the recent pinky finger somebody that I used to know debacle on tiktok
-and I regret everything

Babysitting
Pairing: Kelly Severide x Reader
Requested: yes, by anon
Summary: Kelly tries to convince Y/N to let Capp and Tony babysit their daughter so they can go out for date night.
Tumblr media
Word Count: 1,392
Warnings: none
A/N: Feels like I haven't posted a Kelly fic for a while so I decided to put this out today! I was going to make this into a drabble but after talking to @mertes4cker this is where we are HAHA. (thank you bb!)
KELLY SEVERIDE MASTERLIST
Tumblr media
You hoisted Anna up more securely against you and frowned at your husband as you stood at his squad table.
“I thought you said everything was taken care of.”
Kelly glanced back up at you. “It was but the sitter bailed on us at the last minute. But I have taken care of the problem. Date night is still on.”
God knows you and Kelly both needed it but getting a reliable night sitter always seemed to be a problem.
You raised your eyebrows.
“Capp and Tony can babysit tomorrow night.”
You let out a short laugh before you realized your husband wasn’t making a joke. “You’re serious?”
“What? They joke around a lot of the time but you know Capp would totally be on Anna’s wavelength. They’re available and willing and…” Kelly argued.
You glanced back around, where Tony and Cruz were currently trying to jam a firefighter’s boot onto Capp’s head, just to prove it could be done.
“You want to leave your daughter with them for the night to see if our house burns to the ground?” You asked. “Kelly, I love you and your guys are great people. You know I know that.”
Kelly put a hand up, taking one last glance back at them. Of course, they’d be doing the world’s stupidest thing right now at this moment for you to see.
“Y/N, they’ll be fine. And we need to do this for our own sanity.” Kelly gently prompted.
You sighed, leaning in to press up against him gently. “I know, baby. But do you really think I’ll be able to have date night wondering if that is happening at home?” You pointed gently back towards them now, where the boot seemed to now be stuck on Capp’s head.
Kelly let out a grimace, as he put an arm gently around your waist. “I swear they’re not always like this.”
You laughed. “I know. But I’m having a hard enough time leaving my daughter behind to go for date night. I’m not trying to be difficult or insinuating that they’re not good people.” You glanced at Anna, who was extremely distracted now with your hair. “I just…”
“I know. I know.” Kelly assured, pressing a kiss to your temple. “If it makes you feel better, I made them sign something?”
You looked up, your interest piquing, as Kelly smiled and handed you a piece of paper before he plucked Anna out of your arms to your daughter’s obvious delight.
Your eyes scanned the words on the paper in front of you, which said in not so many words that they’d keep their crazy business nowhere near the house you and Kelly shared, and even further away from your daughter.
You glanced up at Kelly with a small smile. “Okay, maybe this makes me feel a little better.”
Tumblr media
You had given in.
While not exactly representative of how they would take care of Anna without you and Kelly there, Kelly had still arranged for some type of supervised play time for Anna, where you and Kelly were practically invisible. So just that day, you'd sat at the kitchen island drinking from the cup of coffee that Kelly had put in your hand and watched Capp and Tony be absolutely adorable with your daughter.
So that’s why you were now sitting across from your husband in a restaurant. Not just any restaurant, either. The restaurant that held special memories for the both of you.
“It isn’t any special day today.” You’d told him, frowning just a little at the entrance, combing through your ‘mom brain’ to see if you’d forgotten anything.
Kelly just smiled and threaded his fingers through yours. “Reservation under Kelly Severide.” He told the host before the guy nodded and led you both to a table.
“To make up for all those things we kind of lost.” Kelly said, smiling. “Look, just because we have Anna doesn’t mean we can’t do things like this. Date night traditions are important.”
You let a soft smile flit across your face as Kelly reached forward for your hand on the table, his thumb running gently across your knuckles.
Kelly had, of course, been right. You’d both really needed this and while your mind still lingered on how Anna was doing back home, you resisted the urge to bring it up, reminding yourself that Kelly needed this as much as you did.
But, as soon as your plates were cleared, Kelly glanced up. “Should we skip dessert?”
You pressed your lips together to try not to betray a smile.
“This was your idea.” You reminded him, revealing the small smile to him now to let him know you were teasing him.
Kelly rolled his eyes. “I know. But it’s too quiet, and I just…”
You let out a small tinkling laugh. “Yeah, let’s get some waffles to go on the way home and we can have dessert with Anna instead.”
Kelly agreed way too quickly, grabbing the bill and heading towards the front. You smiled, catching yourself once again marveling at the fact that Kelly Severide was actually your husband.
Tumblr media
Thankfully, the place with Anna’s favorite waffles opened late - it was one of the regular places that you and Kelly had frequented when you’d been dating, so it’d felt really special bringing Anna there. And, as expected, Anna had fallen in love with their waffles, and only theirs.
You wanted to laugh at the way Kelly seemed to be balancing his veiled worry with trying to act nonchalantly but you kept quiet, as Kelly opened the door.
But what greeted you was a weird sight that you didn’t know what to make of.
Capp was crawling along the ground, peering under the sofa, just as Tony emerged from one of the other rooms. “Capp, she’s not…”
Tony froze as he saw you and Kelly standing in the doorway.
“Hey guys.” You called, a little warily. “Everything okay?”
Both Capp and Tony glanced at each other, as Capp got off his feet.
“What?” Kelly asked, the tone of concern ticking up in his voice.
“Okay, don’t get mad.” Capp said, standing up with his hands up.
Kelly narrowed his eyes.
“We can’t find her.”
“You what?” Kelly shot back.
You frowned before you glanced at Tony. “Did something happen? Was she upset?”
Tony shook his head. “I swear she was fine. She asked us for something and by the time we turned back around…”
You broke the climbing tension with a chuckle, as Kelly looked at you like you had lost your mind.
You didn’t say anything to them. Instead, you raised your voice a little, your voice echoing around the apartment. “Ms Anna? Ms Anna Severide? Could we interest you in waffle time?”
It took just another second before a little body zoomed out from one of the rooms. “Mommy! Daddy!”
Capp glanced back at Tony incredulously as Kelly scooped Anna into his arms and you smiled. “Anna knows all the best hiding places here. She just needs… the right motivation.”
Capp let out a breath. “God, she really freaked me out for a bit, I thought I might actually have to give up being a firefighter.”
You laughed, as Kelly cracked a smile.
“Thanks for your help today, guys.” You said, smiling. “Drinks are on Kelly and me for your next Molly’s visit, alright?”
You thanked Capp and Tony as you saw them out, turning back to glance at your daughter who was no longer paying attention.
“Anna, you know you’re not supposed to scare people like that.” You said, although you were still smiling.
Anna just grinned cheekily back at you, chocolate already smeared across her lips from the waffle she was stuffing into her face.
Kelly smiled, pressing a kiss to the top of Anna’s head, and reaching over to drape his hand over your shoulders.
“Date night was a good idea, though, right?” He asked you in a low voice.
You smiled and nodded. “But next time, maybe we should choose a date night when the Herrmanns are available.” You paused. “Just so we can have dessert.” You teased gently.
Kelly pretended like he didn’t hear you, reaching over to swipe a bite of waffle straight from Anna’s fork, her peals of laughter and sounds of protest filling your house and just making you smile.

i’m about a month late to the ffvii rebirth fanfare but i saw your study/shot comparison for the ending while scrolling through some tags and was really curious to see if you had come up with any more conclusions since then! i just finished it a couple days ago and still reeling from it and have been enjoying hearing people’s thoughts about what the heck they think is going on. obvs cloud is not ok, but i’m still trying to decide just how much of what we’re seeing is due to his sanity going out the window and how much of it (if any) is aerith actually speaking to him and/or sephiroth messing with him. the way he tells the rest of the party to not look up at the sky though and none of them see what he sees, just clues them all in to the fact that he isn’t entirely all there anymore. a collective very concerned side-eye lol. somebody help him pls.
!!! oh friend, you're in a TON of luck: I actually started a few different commentaries on how I saw the ending on this weeks back, but didn't post them because I got distracted by other fandoms? I'm more than happy to share them though—not as developed as they could be, but some congealing of where my mind went upon finishing the game and rewatching the gameplay.
forewarning: FFVII ending spoilers + a long af post lmao
So I wrote this on my twitter (where I go to see things only on twt lol) the other day because of a bunch of concepts were clarified by the Ultimania + translators, which kinda sums up where my thoughts are:
Tumblr media
Which...yeah. As I see it: as of the ending, Aerith is in fact dead in our current world (the one of the player narrative). How I see it, she's died in our primary timeline—though likely "alive" in the same way Zack is in some other timeline, in addition to her connection to every "universe" through the power of her connection to the planet as the last Cetra.
The white whispers (which represent Aerith/the will of the planet) as well as the “confluence of world” colors we see with Sephiroth are all around when Cloud supposedly “sees her alive" during the classic death scene—
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
—an indicator that the event itself was the "confluence" Sephiroth was trying to achieve, with Cloud experiencing several versions of it due to his own connection to Sephiroth/the lifestream/his fragmented mind. We see this both in what Sephiroth says around the event itself....and also the contrasting experiences of our party with what Cloud sees in the moment (+ through end of the game).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As I see it, Cloud’s consciousness by the end of FFVII:R-II is fully fractured; throughout both Remake & Rebirth he is already seeing visions affected by Sephiroth’s influence on the planet (the black whispers, the way hooded men and thin air turn into Sephiroth before his eyes)—and now, during the “confluence of emotions / worlds / reunion” mentioned (Aerith's death), Cloud’s already broken mind is slipping further into seeing “the middle space” of the worlds joined and prepared for destruction by Sephiroth in real time, rather than following the timeline of events in the world we play—a la the post that inspired your ask. :)
All that said: the reason he’s seeing Aerith (not just sensing her the way Red does in his own Lifestream connection) is because she’s a Cetra, and now (in death) the embodiment of the positive! Will of Gaia across worlds—so because of Cloud's connection to that "middle space" / ability to traverse different versions of reality because of his connection to Sephiroth, Cloud is interacting with her presence…despite it not being there for anyone else.
Tumblr media
It’s also why he can see the sky split no one else can.
Tumblr media
ADDITIONALLY:
The Aerith we see fight alongside Cloud in the final battle and the one we see walking around everyone as Cid fixes the plane…that’s the spirit of her person (think the Aerith of Advent Children). Aerith didn’t live this game—her spirit can communicate because of Sephiroth's successful confluence, though she’s ALSO "alive" in the same way Zack and Biggs are to us: aka she died in the world she was in but still exists in others, which Sephiroth confirms/explains both when Aerith pulls Cloud into another “doomed” world—
Tumblr media Tumblr media
when he’s trying to manipulate Cloud in the Lifestream—
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
and when you’re fighting Sephiroth alongside Aerith in the void during the final battle (after she’s died).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Even so, Aerith “living on” as the last Cetra/the spirit of the planet + someone with access to multiple worlds through the "reunion" means she’s now as able to infiltrate Cloud's ongoing visions as Sephiroth is...and is likely trying to keep him even somewhat present despite his clearly fractured mind.
I think that’s implied repeatedly by through the hollow Holy Materia (implying both Aerith is no longer “there,” but still present + that cloud himself is now hollow)—
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
—and why/how the Black Materia (Sephiroth) is still manipulating him and very much driving his fractured thoughts, visions and actions.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
As for the rest of the party: it's because no one but his “vessel-connected-to-Sephiroth” self (+ now dead-but-living-on-in-the-Lifestream Aerith) has any idea what he learned about worlds in the Lifestream that what’s happening to Cloud is lost on everyone (and why they look painfully concerned), and also why spirit!Aerith repeatedly gives him reminders to 1) not listen to Sephiroth and 2) focus on finding himself again.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
All that said: because Cloud’s actual self is already slipping away from our present game TL by the second half of the game, it will have to be retrieved and rearranged—which we know will happen in game 3 (assuming you know the original FF7 plot where Tifa rearranges him in the Lifesteam) but that has to be changed from “Cloud finds out about Zack and finally cracks" because Cloud already knows about Zack in some capacity by the middle of Rebirth.
I personally think this sets us up for a really interesting resolution in that Tifa is going to probably have spirit!Aerith’s help putting Cloud back together in the Lifestream in game 3—and that she will likely play a bigger part in helping Cloud “find himself” in his own world again because it’s been made more apparent that she’s a full consciousness in the Lifestream/able to affect multiple worlds now because of Sephiroth completing the first step in his plan. That's more just hopeful on my part going into the next game than something rooted in analysis though.
But yes! those are my thoughts! I hope this gives you (more than a little) something. Feel free to ask if something isn’t clear though lol this was like 4 different half-done drafts combined 😂 Regardless, ty so much for the ask / giving me a reason to post them!

Alright, let’s talk about what everyone’s here for: cool powers
Footfall Devlog 2
This Devlog will be covering the basics of what Footfall is and the challenges of making a game so heavily inspired by immersive sims.
So, without further ado:
What Is Footfall?
Footfall is an occult-industrial stealth-action rpg inspired by Dishonored, Mistborn, and Bloodborne. It aims to emulate the systemic ecosystem and emergent gameplay of immersive sims, particularly the fast, creative, movement-centric gameplay of Dishonored.
You play as Gifted of the Watchman, the god of stories and action. You are functional demigods, arcane in nature and forever part of a great cosmic play of chaos and change.
Some basics about how the game is played before going forward:
You get 3 Action Points at the beginning of your turn, each action point representing a period of 2 seconds.
If you do something cool, succeed on a check by 1 or less, or arrive to a dangerous Encounter fashionably late, you can get a point of Adrenaline. Adrenaline allows you to take an extra Action—even on another creature’s turn—or increase the size of the die you roll on a Check. You can only have up to 3 Adrenaline at a time.
Movement is measured in ~3 foot increments labeled "Strides." These are about the average length of a walking stride, and tend to be measured with one's arm.
There’s an interactive, yet digestible, physics engine at play. More about that can be found here.
The Question
The first question one must ask when creating a TTRPG about movement, and probably the easiest to answer, is how to make it interesting. When I say easy, I more-so mean that this is something you’re probably thinking about before you’ve even started writing anything down. This is a question you probably both asked and answered as part of the “I have a cool idea!” phase; at least, that’s what happened with me.
My answer was
Arcane Locomotion
During conceptualization, I decided a traditional class structure was right out. Instead I leaned toward a VtM-style power-centered progression system, with the various “Disciplines” (here called Gifts) covering individual forms of otherworldly movement. Because the spell system is the core of the game—something presumably every player character will be using—I decided that cost-based casting limitation (spell slots in D&D, sanity in CoC) would’ve been an exceptionally poor fit, and randomization limitation (disciplines in VtM, psychic powers in Traveller) has never sat well with me; I ultimately landed on a style of consequence-limitation using heat-management gameplay:
Entropy Quick Reference - Gained by taking the Power action. Cleared by taking an action without gaining Entropy. Once you have 3 or more, you take 2 damage and cannot use any powers for 2 rounds.
As for the powers themselves: First I’m going to provide an overview of the steps of conceptualization and implementation, then I’m going to walk you through the process of applying those steps to one of the Gifts, and finally I’ll show you the current state of each Gift (with some designer’s notes).
The process used is as follows:
Assign a unique form of supernatural movement, or an otherworldly ability that allows for unique interactions with one’s environment.
Identify the core niche of that ability, in what situations does it shine brightest? (i.e. Combat, Stealth, Support)
Create a base power (this one comes with your Xbox) that provides a type of mobility (e.g. social, hidden, group) within the established niche.
Create additional powers that support the Gift’s niche.
Playtest and identify weakpoints in powers and interesting additions to their capabilities.
Create Addendums that modify powers with those weaknesses and possible additions in mind.
Playtest again.
Design Note: A goal of this system is to create interactivity between powers—I want people to figure out cool and unique solutions to the problems they are presented, it’s a core aspect of the design ethos. That means that, during playtesting, a power doing something unexpected shouldn’t be flagged as a problem, it should be flagged as a success.
The Gift of Passage
1. Teleportation. This is gonna be our baseline power set, teleportation is what people think of when they hear “supernatural movement.”
2. Stealth. Teleportation, beyond getting people places quickly (or to places they normally can’t reach), is particularly suited for moving unnoticed.
3. Three aspects factored heavily into the design of this base power: 1.) Teleportation as a baseline. To represent this, this power resets your Momentum and Fall Height to 0. 2.) Teleportation as stealth. To represent this, not only does this power move you unseen, it actively degenerates enemy awareness. 3.) Teleportation as breaking rules. This one was pretty simple—you can teleport to a location without line of sight, so doors and walls can’t block your movement.
4. Two of the three additional powers are, at their base level of conception, just different forms of teleportation. One of them (Sharp Displace) allows you to swap places with another creature or object, and the other (Prepared Recall) is a normal teleport that reverts you back to your original position at the end of your turn. Both of these powers have stealth capabilities beyond Radio Motion’s removal of Notice, particularly Sharp Displace, which contains the following statement: “If you swap places with a conscious creature, make a Stealth check. On a success, the creature comes up with some sort of excuse as to why it isn’t where it was a second ago.” The exception to both of these rules is Flash Step, which act as a parry-and-riposte in short-teleport form (almost every Gift has one of these).
5.
Tumblr media
6. During preliminary playtesting, one of the playtesters asked if “swapping positions with Sharp Displace also meant swapping momentums.” I immediately said, “No, obviously not,” but we both agreed that it would be incredibly cool and fun . . . so I added an Addendum that makes it so you can do that exact thing (Momentous Swap). This was the basic process for creating many of the Addendums.
7. Further playtesting has (so far) not revealed any problems. The Gift of Passage is strong in its niche, and sets itself apart from similar power sets (e.g. Gift of Doors).
Here’s the final product:
Tumblr media
The Gift of Reaching
Supernatural Movement: Body extension
Niche: Combat, enemy positioning.
Design Note: This was one of two Gifts that had to undergo complete overhauls after testing (the other being Tempo).
Tumblr media
The Gift of Pushing
Supernatural Movement: Kinetic projection
Niche: Combat, crowd control.
Design Note: This Gift is the most aggressive and directly combative. It also hasn’t been revisited in a while.
Tumblr media
The Gift of Tempo
Supernatural Movement: Time manipulation
Niche: Assault, self-buffs and enemy denial.
Design Note: This Gift is one of two to be actively designed to limit its interactivity with other Gifts (the other being Possession). Time powers are REALLY difficult to balance.
Tumblr media
The Gift of Doors
Supernatural Movement: Portals
Niche: Support, group and object movement.
Design Note: This is the gift that most heavily engages with the physics engine, and everyone who picks it up has an ungodly amount of fun (they also tend to be STEM majors).
Tumblr media
The Gift of Shadows
Supernatural Movement: Shadow form and manipulation
Niche: Stealth, remaining hidden while acting upon one’s environment.
Design Note: This one is inspired by an old forum RP superhero character I had. It was also kinda lacking up until the recent light update—note to all would-be shadow-ability designers, they work better with light sources.
Tumblr media
The Gift of Possession
Supernatural Movement: Entering and manipulating living creatures
Niche: Stealth, social. Hide in plain sight.
Design Note: Up until this point, every iteration of Dancing Puppet has been too powerful in combat and too weak out of combat. Adding the “No direct harm” clause has balanced it out quite a bit, but I’m still not happy with it. Gonna ask a player in the next playtest to take it in hopes that they might inspire some innovation.
Tumblr media
The Gift of Mirrors
Supernatural Movement: Self duplication
Niche: Support
Design Note: Matthew Mercer made my favorite 5e subclass and I shall forever live in shame. I haven’t played D&D 5e in years, and I still love Echo Knight.
Tumblr media
Conclusion:
There are two big lessons that I want to leave you with today:
Weaponize Playtesting.
Have your cake and eat it too.
When people think of playtesting, they often see it as solely a means to find flaws within their game or to reaffirm design decisions that they’ve made. If we extrapolate that idea—expand its scope—what we come to understand is that playtesting is a means of gauging which aspects of your game that players find engaging or frustrating, and if we look at it from that perspective then we can use playtesting data to determine how to make engaging additions. Sure, players don’t always know what they want, but even if we just look at how they’re playing we can see how they’re attempting to interact with the game and thereby deduce what additions to the formula might make the game more fun for them. This process is what I mean by Weaponizing Playtesting, using playtesting data to help plan how you want your game to develop in the future.
As for having your cake and eating it too, I have a sincere preference for classless games (I never really liked PbTA style Playbooks all that much either), but I understand the appeal of class based games. Classes give you structure, they give you a basic plan to follow in terms of how your character will develop all united under a connective theme. For new and experienced players alike starting with a class then building a character around it can be incredibly helpful, perhaps even inspiring; however, classes are ultimately restrictive, they require you to play within their rules—your understanding of your character’s capabilities will always be, by necessity, grounded in the abilities of their chosen class. Ultimately, I wanted the structural inspiration that classes can provide and the freedom of choice that comes with classless play—the Gifts were my solution, and I think they’ve done a stellar job of providing both.
Self Promotion:
Hey y’all, sorry for the short hiatus. Work has been killing me recently.

Anyway, wanted to ask: what do YOU think the sun in the corner of the screen when you play SJD indicates? Because *I* have thoughts...but I also wanted to pick your brain 👀
Apologies if you've already been asked this! 😅
I’m really glad you like my headcanons and that I could be helpful for your fic!
I haven’t been asked about this actually, and I happen to have a few thoughts and screenshots I’d like to share!
Tumblr media
This took me a couple tries to capture the full title screen before the “start” button appears. I did it to get see more of the children’s drawing of the ‘84 incident where Jack died. The crying of Jack, the children, and the X eyes make it pretty clear that’s what’s being depicted.
You’ll notice in the corner that the sun with the red, yellow, and blue swirls is obscured by a crinkled cloud, and three primary colors are awash in a layer of bloody red. This affects the border around the game as well.
We get to see this cloudy sun more clearly once we start the game... while Jack is talking to his sunshine for the first time.
Tumblr media
There’s a cloud obscuring the sun, and all the colors are washed out in an unpleasant shade of gray. The border similarly is washed out. Curiously the text box is normal and vividly colored.
Tumblr media
Then, when we jump ahead to MC’s monologue that takes place after they’ve started living with Jack and accepted him as a part of everyday life, the colors are vibrant all around. There’s no cloud blocking the sun. The corner icon remains like this for the rest of the game regardless of choices, including in the mini story with Ian at the end.
I want to show all three versions of this icon up close and side by side so you can see the difference better for yourselves.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I think the symbolism is pretty obvious here. The cloud and unpleasant colors muting the bright and cheerful colors that represent Sunny Day Jack... I imagine this is going to be an indication of when the relationship with Jack is deteriorating... or perhaps his mind.
I honestly hadn’t noticed this detail until someone pointed it out in this post, then I searched for every instance where this might change. I would’ve assumed that we might see it cloudy again in the “no” route, but it was still the sunny version there too.
What I suspect is that the user interface we see during the game is going to be affected by the route we’re on and the choices we make, specifically when it comes to our relationship with Jack and how it affects his state of mind. When everything is positive and MC’s feelings towards Jack are favorable, it’ll be sunny and colorful. When it’s negative... that’s when the cloud comes in and the colors are muted.
I suspect that when things start going this negative route, the interface in the text box is going to change as well. We might see dingier colors, stains, or even tears in the paper. After all, we’re given crinkly paper textures and folded up stickers in the regular interface. The cloud over the sun is especially crinkly. We might get more font changes as well besides just red text.
In this way, the game user interface is doing some storytelling here, likely giving us a hint of Jack’s state of mind. He is solidly in the mindset of Sunny Day Jack, who is all colorful, cheerful, and even child friendly.
Starting to lose his sunshine... that’s going to make Jack start to degrade, I think. His grasp on reality and his sunshine’s love is slipping. He is at risk of being forgotten in that cold, sleepless static hell where God had abandoned him...
I think that as Jack’s sanity starts slipping, that’s when the framing is going to be darker, more unsettling. Jack has the potential to be our foe after all, and he’s certainly a yandere considering what he does to Nick no matter what choices we make in the demo...
If I was to make a guess about what these mean currently... The red version with the cloud is the harshest of them all. It could, in a very real sense, represent Jack while he’s trapped in hell, reliving his gruesome death over and over again. He can’t leave it until MC plays the tape... or we start the game.
Then things change for Jack. He’s not reliving his death, he’s interacting with someone. He’s still wounded, as evidenced by the dimmed colors and the cloud obscuring his sun. MC doesn’t care for him yet because they don’t know him yet. However, by contrast the text interface is colored cheerfully, almost welcoming. The presence of someone interrupting his hell and reaching out to him gives him hope.
Then finally... everything is bright. MC wants Jack around no matter the route. They want him in their life to be their friend, or maybe more. They make him feel love, which of course makes him feel happy. He loves them. He’s free. He’s warm and basking in their happy light. Everything will be wonderfully sunny... as long as no one takes his sunshine away.
What’s interesting too is that by showing that the game’s interface is malleable in this way... it might hint that Jack could be a character who breaks the 4th wall and addresses the player directly at some point. After all, we’re the ones that start the game and let him live again. We’re supporting him and the game being made in the first place. It could even be more confusing to him why we would pick the “no” option when we’re literally playing the game for his company and love.
Personally, I think this is just a meta touch for us as players. It’s much too soon to jump to the conclusion that Jack is a 4th wall breaking entity like Monika from Doki Doki Literature Club, Flowey from Undertale, or other games like that where the characters address the player directly. We haven’t gotten any real hints that he’s interested in us, the player, rather than the MC we’re guiding through the story. MC does have their own personality after all, and a pretty strong one.
Still... it would make sense why Jack can read MC’s thoughts if he was a 4th wall breaker. After all... he could just be reading their narration right alongside us.

Fic Writer Asks!
I was tagged by @bidoofenergy thank you for the tag!
for the sake of my sanity i am mentioning and ignoring karmaland and way older fics as I see fit
ao3 name: elawritesgays but my pseud for english fandoms is justno
fandoms: Currently? Red, White and Royal Blue and All for the Game. Now, all-time Karmaland, Voltron, Shadowhunter's Chronicles and one (1) DSMP
number of works: 15 on Ao3, if we count the Twitter fics 24
work i spent the most time on: There's an AU that took me longer than a year, started july 2020 and finished writing it somewhere early 2022 and it just didn't get fully posted, otherwhise since I mostly write one shots all of them have an average of 1 or 2 weeks of writing/editing and posting so I have no clue
work i spent the least time on: Holy, a Rubegetta one shot. I know for a fact it didn't even take me a day to write it and post it, it was my first fic after years of not writing anything at all.
longest fic: My longest fic is a Karmaland FS AU (yes the one mentioned above, yes I know I am writing another rn) and it is 44k words, but I published maybe 30k, and I didn't put it on Ao3. That being said it is Try Again, the whole thing is written I just stepped away from the fandom
shortest fic: each of the drabbles in my drabble collection (? each around exactly 100 words or a little more when I write in Spanish and English at the same time, that's as short as it can get
most hits: las formas de llamarte amor I am used to not getting many hits so this one was a surprise to see escalating to numbers I had never seen.
most kudos: also las formas de llamarte amor once again.
total word count: 34,129 (on Ao3, mind you)
favorite work of my own: This is so hard because I can't chose. I think I have a few favourites for different reasons so I am going to cheat and mention one per language at least.
A ti, is an epistolary fic about two Karmaland NPCs that I wrote for a creative writing class, it's Sapphic and I think it is the most carefully crafted one. It has a special place in my heart.
and las formas de llamarte amor my debut in the RWRB fandom if you will, the start of my Alex Claremont-Díaz speaks Spanish agenda, and the Alex calls Henry pet names in Spanish agenda.
fic you want to rewrite/expand on: With You, a dystopian AU for the Karmaland fandom, I feel like if I hadn't been on a deadline it could be so much better, maybe even as a multi chapter that could explore a lot more of the main characters
share a bit of a wip: i am running out of snippets that are not spoilers
“Alexander, if you are trying to fit a quadruple Lutz in that jump you’ll be thoroughly disappointed  when you land with your face on the ice.” Zahra’s suggestion goes unnoticed because Alex has already fallen with a resounding thwack. One wouldn’t look at the now limp body on the ice and assume that it belongs to Alexander Claremont-Díaz, a professional figure skater and representative of the Mexican national team, yet not even he is capable of avoiding meeting the ice face-to-face a few times.
Figure Skating AU WIP my beloved
and I am tagging @heybuddy-drabbles @14carrotghoul @inexplicablymine @userd0esn0texist @mudbloodpotter05 @suseagull04 @raysletters @xthelastknownsurvivorx no pressure tho!

I need to infect everyone with my current rarepair hyperfixation brainrot so strap in, here’s why Asclepius and Florence Nightingale FGO should kiss.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Okay so Nightingale and Asclepius are two people that have been stated in multiple places to get along really well and generally work really well together. He described her as a perfect assistant and she’s just thrilled to be around him, and you’ve got moments like here where he admires her as a necessary and valuable part of the medical field that is critical to him being able to exist, but is outside of the field of what he does.
On a surface level they’re great coworkers who care a lot about similar things — Asclepius the advancement of medicine to eventually beat death, and Nightingale the elimination of disease. They’d spend a lot of time working together and not minding that the other is intensely single-minded in their focus. It doesn’t matter that Asclepius is a socially awkward mess of a man whose interest in disease means he’s terrifyingly blasé about the emotional well-being and safety of those around him, because Nightingale is so Berserker-addled that she would beat a man to death with a chair if she thought that meant curing him. He would completely accept that she’s a menace and a monstrosity because he doesn’t even think she IS a menace — her methods are different, sure, but intriguing, and he takes her seriously no matter what.
On a much deeper level, Nightingale is a fucked up person who exists in constant agony and her character arc is MISERABLY sad. Her interludes end with her giving up her sanity to be a better servant for her master because it is impossible for her to maintain her reason and also her functionality as a Servant. Her third ascension shows her bandaged and beaten to represent how strengthening her, ascending her, making her a better servant is actually unhealthy for her — it makes the core contradiction in her character worse and further throws her into the nightmare she’s trapped in. Nightingale is traumatized by Crimea — she saw a filthy war, where mites infested all the medical supplies and disease ran rampant among those she cared for. She saw people dying that shouldn’t have had to die but perished purely because of the stubbornness of those in charge and a pervasive apathy towards their subordinates quality of care. War is hell and soldiers die in agony, and no one FUCKING RESPECTED HER because she was a woman so she could allow herself no softness or tenderness in fighting that hell as a soldier against disease.
…now in Chaldea she is a soldier again and she has been forced into a role where she must fight once more. Her class container means she must fight; as much as people like kissing servants their role is fundamentally to wage war and kill things so it is impossible for Nightingale, a nurse obsessed with preserving life, to happily exist in her class container without it destroying her sense of self.
So she does. With her own hands she kills her humanity.
Except…
God fucking damn would Asclepius hate that.
Because destroying one’s humanity is what a god would do and Asclepius fucking hates that so much.
So picture Asclepius, a man who has said that Nightingale is essentially his bedrock — that she is necessary to create a bastion of care — having to confront the idea that this woman he works so flawlessly with, who he communicates so well with completely wordlessly (something I am sure he highly prizes) is about to become something he hates. He’d have to confront her suffering, her agony, and… beyond even just ‘I care about her’, it would be a matter of ‘I need to treat her disease’. So he’d beg her not to do it and further beg her to be his patient.
And that’s something that Nightingale has never had.
Nightingale is the definition of ‘caring for others at the expense of the self’. The lady with the lamp sits at the bedside of others, she isn’t gently cared for herself… and she can’t be, because if she’s seen as Someone to be Cared For, she is then in danger of becoming someone To Be Disrespected because she’d be _weak_ and she can’t have THAT she’s fought so HARD to be taken seriously in a world that’s always dismissed her because she doesn’t have a goddamn dick. But Asclepius has never been like that, has he? Her gender has never been part of the equation for him and, furthermore, there’s never been a moment where Asclepius doesn’t take Nightingale 100% seriously. In fact, he admires how efficiently she can knock a man out and gag him. Also, Asclepius loves his mom and Atalante would have killed him if he didn’t drink respect women juice, so if she’s his patient it’s fine, that won’t do anything to jeopardize her position.
So Asclepius, who’s bad with loss, is caring for Nightingale who has never been cared for before, and I’ll admit that it’d probably verge into the territory of Intimate Healing as he tries to find a way to lessen the pain in her spirit origin and keep her sane. And like, it’d work — Nightingale would have been given another role to fulfill, something else to be other than a Servant and a Solider, which would give her… clarity. And Asclepius and Nightingale wouldn’t be able to talk about the emotional ramifications of him seeing her eyes clear and her not being in pain for once, because they’re both stupid idiots, but emotionally it’d be there. He’d be successfully caring for this woman who is the bedrock of all of his ambitions and everything that he finds important, and she’d be cared for by someone who understands the weight of what she’s trying to do and has never once invalidated it.
Embracing him is fine, it’s alright, because Asclepius is so incredibly clean. There’d never be a bug on him. He’d never be the least bit filthy.
And like, moments of sanity would do things to Nightingale. It’d make her easier to reason with but it’d also give her the space to maybe try to find a way to occupy her class container that doesn’t bring her Constant, Unending Suffering. She might not have the words for her love for Asclepius, and she might be an unromantic idiot who forgets Valentine’s Day and probably has no conception of going on a date, but it’s there and she doesn’t want to become what he hates, so she tries to be a little more like a fully rounded person than a murder nurse. And… she wants better for him too. She wants people to like him and see how wonderfully kind and sweet he is, which she might accomplish by threatening people into being nice to him, but it’d also manifest in her trying to get people to understand him and wanting him to maybe talk to other people about more than just new medical techniques.
In return, Asclepius would look at Nightingale and see a human being, not an Angel or a Devil. A beautiful, wonderful, strong human being whose loss would ruin him on so many levels.
and I wish there was more art of them kissing, dammit.

If you were born in like 19th century England, do you think you would’ve been really into contemporary fashion, or would you have looked back at Georgian & Baroque? Do you think your love of regency/Victorian/Edwardian fashion more rooted in historical interest or aesthetic? Or do you think it’s too intertwined to parse?
I've thought about this a fair bit, actually. Whether, serious concerns like bigotry and inferior medicine aside, I'd actually make a Good Victorian. I'm not at all sure I would, even allowing for things like Humans Aren't Etiquette Manual Writers and People Have Always Been People. For one thing, until ragtime, a lot of the popular music was rancid IMO. There are only so many music-hall songs one can take, and only so many minor-key classical pieces or murder ballads to salve the pain.
But I digress.
In terms of fashion, I think I'd be able to find more things I like than I do now- but I'd still be looking backward somewhat. Even as a modern person pining for Victorian gowns, a lot of my favorite 19th century styles are revival movements: standing lace collars that whisper "Elizabethan," for example, or the 18th century influences of the 1870s-early 80s. Or Renaissance-esque puffed and slashed sleeves, or Etruscan Revival earrings. And of course, Gothic Revival has my entire heart in many ways. So I suspect I'd be quite artistic in my approach to dress back then, while still sticking to the basic silhouette of the times.
And good god, would I haaaaate having to update things to keep pace with the vaguely current Look. I'm very much a "find what I like and stick to it" sort of person in terms of aesthetic, and I like to wear and wear my clothing until it utterly gives out- in its original form, to be clear. For my own sanity, I'd be the happiest in a position where my support either didn't depend on respectability or where a bit of eccentricity in dress was allowed for.
So basically I'd have to either be born wealthy enough to never worry about money, or...I don't know. Marry a very rich gay man who runs in Artistic circles and doesn't need me to represent his business/law firm/whatever at parties.
I suspect, unfortunately, that I'd be somewhat curmudgeonly about fashion back then just as I am now (albeit less so). And this, friends, is the lesser micro-level reason I don't indulge in "born in the wrong era" talk.

Get to know the Mun
respond to the prompts out of character!
what made you pick up the current muse(s) you have?
WARNING: MASSIVE CRACK-LEVEL HEADCANONS AND CROSSOVERS AHEAD. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
Ok so I’m kinda weird cuz I love crossovers & I’ve been working on this silly little crossover narrative/story where my OC & the main 6 featured in this blog (Morty, Eusine, Steven, N, AZ & Guzma) all represent the 7 Chaos Emeralds and the first 7 Pokemon Regions. What can I say? I’m a sucker for symbolism. Obviously, the Sonic symbolism was only implied and never really affected any of the rp threads I wrote for here (and I’d obviously never force that narrative on anybody), but like the golden hedgehog wielding those magic mcguffins of chaotic power, I too found great pride and joy in writing for my favorite Pokemon characters from my childhood & adolescence. They are my gems, hence the name of the blog. ...As for the other two (Winona & Lysandre) I was just testing them out ._.;
is there anything you don’t like to write?
Besides the obvious (pedophilia/adult-minor ships, gore & incest), I strictly avoid NSFW (and by extension rape) for the sake of my sanity. Sure, one could argue that it’s due to my religion (I’m Christian), but honestly? It’s super boring and serves nothing to the plot. Sure, it may start off spicy and fun, but it gets stale very quickly, so that's why I never write it. Not to say I'm against NSFW rp in general, but I'll just stick with reading smut fics on Ao3 that do a much better service writing NSFW than I do ._.;
is there anything you really enjoy writing?
They say write what you know, and the only thing I know how to write is angst and character death. I've tried writing other things in the past like fluff or romance, but every time I've done so it always ended up being angsty, so I suppose this is my fate/curse now lol. It just comes natural to me, and it's the most fun thing for me to write, especially in the moments when there's that tiny sliver of hope that can seep through...only to be hopelessly crushed by my angsty hands c:
how do you come up with headcanons?
I'm noticing a strange trend in my headcanons where I'll connect two random pieces of info together: The biggest one probably being Guzma as a reincarnation of W.D. Gaster. To this day this is still a weird habit of mine, but it also contributes to my love for writing angst because I get the freedom to create more headcanons and backstory as to why this connection is possible. And usually, with headcanons like these, it all chalks up to past mistakes, curses, reincarnations, and all that fun morally-grey afterlife stuff, which also contributes to the angsty writing c:
Another headcanon I love to write is giving muses magical powers! This is pretty much a staple to my writing. I don't believe I ever got to fully develop this headcanon for my muses in this blog, but with 18 different elemental typings for Pokemon, it's fun to give my muses Pokemon typings as well to fit their character, like making Eusine a waterbender or Lysandre a firebender. It's also fun to figure out a narrative that can incorporate these powers for further character development and growth: Eusine will always carry a special place in my heart for being the waterbender that wanted to learn from the waterbending master (i.e. Suicune) 🥺
do you write in silence or do you play music?
Honestly I don't know how y'all write with music without having to either change the music cuz it doesn't fit the muse or because you have an earworm that's been ingrained in your mind for 9 days but yeah that's why I don't write with music c':
do you plan your replies or wing them?
Uh...define "planning"? I mean I'll proofread my responses 2 or 3 times to make sure I get everything that I want to address in my rp partner's response (which may contribute to how long it takes for me to reply I'm a bit of a perfectionist c':), but other than basic plotting I suppose I mostly wing it?
do you enjoy shipping?
Depends on the character and/or rp partner I'm writing with. Not to say I actively avoid it, but I feel like I need to get a feel for the writing first before I ship? There are some characters that I write for that are more accessible to ships than others (if that makes any sense), so it really depends on my mood and characterization ._.;
what’s your alias/name? Gen
age? 25
birthday? August 18th
favorite color? Blue, Yellow, Green, Orange and Purple. In that order.
favorite song?
Why you gotta make me choose one c':
last movie you watched?
The Kung Fu Panda trilogy (The 4th movie broke my brother c':)
last show you watched?
Uuuuuuh I haven't watched tv in a long while so probably Owl House?
last song you listened to?
I was listening to Camellia on loop as I was answering this lol
favorite food? Ramen & Sushi
favorite season? Winter
do you have a tumblr best friend? You're all my best friends 🥺
TAGGED BY: @vanillahub by technicality (thanks pal ^-^)

I am Bored Out Of My Mind™ so I'm sharing what's probably going to kill me today ✨
Tumblr media
Here's my laminar chamber, where I've spent most of my days since December of 2022.
I'm currently harvesting trying to harvest my MDA cells for my research (for my master's thesis) and my trypsin is not working and they're not coming off the wells ✨
It's been almost 2 hours and I doubt they're gonna be viable for flow cytometry tomorrow, as trypsin-steeped as they are.
I had a test in the morning so I skipped breakfast in order to get to the lab on time. I didn't drink coffee. The laminar's noise is starting to give me a headache. The cat sticker represents my state of mind, but if we wait long enough, perhaps my body too?
I know nobody cares but I will update - to preserve my sanity by taking breaks from trying to coax the cells out of their wells by a combination of tapping the plastic, murmuring encouraging words and crying softly.
P.S. If you ever hear it's a good idea to work on cells for your graduate work, no you didn't.

The Gallow's Diary
Greetings intrepid readers, if you are reading this I am either dead, proof reading this or have misplaced my diary. If it's the third scenario please return it to where you found it, if you're in the same location you found this as you read this I'm probably in close proximity so please scream as loud as possible to get my attention.
Now onto the meat of this meat pie of a diary, btw meat pie very underrated currently eating one as I write. Now to the topic at hand!
My name is Martyn, code name: The Gallows, for it represents my goal to be a martyr like the freedom fighters of our great country (which is Ireland). It also connects to something I recently discovered about myself, I learned that I have the power to manipulate ropes with my mind, I'm thankful that my name matches up to the powerset I possess.
I know my goal for (motive pending will add later) I can't do it alone, so I gathered a group, nah a society of fellow teens who want to help my crusade for (put motive here).
First we have Clayton, code name: Mud Man, he is my second in command the Sheriff Nottingham to my Prince John he was one of the biggest players in forming my team. His ability to summon mud and substances of the like (ex: rocks, dirt) prove surprisingly useful! He seems to be even able to conjure the materials out of nothing, which granted not much use but is still highly useful in certain circumstances.
Next is Oran, code name: Ouroboros, he seems to be the more technical brains of the group (sometimes he does get a bit annoying) and was able to befriend some extra dimensional snake who can contort itself and the space inside it, the two seem to be in tandem with each other I don't know much of what is going on with it but as they say, never look a gift horse in the mouth or gift snake.
Who's next, oh.... Lance. gonna be brutally honest, he's here to bulk up our numbers. He's not a bad fighter in fact his kicks are extremely deadly, but I feel his love for women might drag us down, but only time will tell. Oh I forgot to say his code name is Chivalry.
Now let's move onto Love, code name: Shoggoth. Love is a recent addition to our school originally from, okay I'm not going to try to write that, anyway she's a being not exactly of our reality (heck I can't even look into her eyes without my sanity shattering) she's quite the punk barely respecting those around her so we obviously added her to the team.
Vespi, code name: The Fig. A shy nerd who I didn't even realise was in this school before she joined this team (turns out we were on the school bowling team together). She possesses the ability to explode (?) Into a wasp and turn back also by exploding, I don't exactly know how that works and hopefully I never do, Love seems to like her and they seem to be getting along.
The final member Annie, code name: Brown Bear. Annie is well to say it nicely off her fing rocker, she's a master engineer designing a bear animatronic mech suit that can destroy most things that stand in it's way and yet I think it's safer for her to be inside it then outside it, she maybe a ball of anger hellbent on getting the world to care about something idk I wasn't paying attention but it's better for her to be on our side then anyone else's.
Anyway so now we need a name and I purpose we call ourselves the Teenage Supervillain Society or the TSS for short hopefully no one is already using this acronym.
Anyway goodnight.

I was watching Springtrap and Deliah for the first time and I'm not too deep into it yet but there's certainly some things that I don't like at all as in they feel too... dumb, others that I feel they are on point, even more than other media out there. It's a mix bag.
But I'm on the part where Springs is talking about his motives with Deliah, and although I have some mixed thoughts on it got me thinking of videogame/canon Springtrap motives.
Of course we're never supposed to know the actual motives (until the books came and say that it was because he's looking for immortality or whatever weird remnant mad scientist retcon thing happened there), that's left to interpretation and I wouldn't like it any other way because it gives me opportunity to think of why and make that my own canon.
I don't read the books, I don't care much about them other than morbid curiosity in the same way one would like to hear the rumors of a train wreck as it's happening, I'm sure they are good on their own. And I have a different approach to the timeline/s of the game and what is canon. So let me explain that first.
My understanding and how I take the story is that there's by now three different canons and they are all valid. Three different timelines or alternate universes because of how the game's stories were planed and how they have been retconed. So we have the purple guy timeline universe, that goes from FNAF 1 to 3. Is the security guard and phone guy and possessed animatronics. FNAF 4 is in limbo between purple guy era and Afton era. Then there's another alternate universe that is the Afton era, that goes not from sister location onwards but from FNAF 1 again all the way to pizzeria simulator because it's the first retcon, which means it recontextualizes what happens in the first games, so it should be considered separate because that doesn't mean the first ones didn't happen since the story was finished and complete at the time of FNAF 3, it just means it's another story with similar events and characters, it's an alternate reality where mad scientist and roboticist Afton is the unknown killer and Mike is the security guard and all the drama with the Emilys. And then there's Glitchtrap/mimic era, which is another another retcon the moment they put into question the validity of all previous games, it goes again from FNAF 1 to current content because it recontextualizes everything for the purpose of a new story. So for my own sanity and so I can keep enjoying all stories without having to try to make sense of them as if they are a single continuity that should make sense, I'm just treating them differently, each with their own timelines and canons and whatever. That way you don't have to try to sell me that everything needs to make perfect sense with everything and that all of it it's an epic saga with a plan and genius storytelling or anything, Scott... I don't want another Warcraft "The jailer was behind it all" and "it's the awaited epic conclusion of the 20 year long story" when it's clearly not because nothing was planned like that.... But whatever, tangent.
So, I'm going to be referring to the purple guy era here. The Purple guy universe where he was just an unknown serial killer and the supernatural is tone is just that, spirit and animatronics coming to life because they are possessed. OG FNAF.
So in this, my interpretation for why Purple guy was going around killing kids specifically is maybe because he just hates kids. Not as in "oh they are so annoying", more in like what kids are supposed to represent. It's a very dark mindset to get into but maybe he just despised to see them happy and to see their innocence. Maybe he was envious of it. Or maybe he just couldn't comprehend it. Kinda like cute-aggression (yes, it's an actual term) but to the extreme, which refers to someone seeing something so so overwhelmingly cute their mind can't comprehend it, gets overloaded and to try to remedy what's happening it resorts to hurt it or destroy it, or twist it in some way to go back to something more familiar and manageable, comprehensible and logical. And it apparently is a phenomenon that some people with a past of abuse have. So, I don't know what could have been the motive for why he ends up hating kids. Maybe the only way he comprehends it is to destroy it because he himself didn't had that as a child or in life so it doesn't compute. Maybe he doesn't hate them, maybe he even envies them or admires them, but it's the only way he can comprehend it and tolerate actually seeing it. Who knows, it's something really twisted and wrong of course because he's a serial killer, but that's why I think FNAF 3 was so impactful and cool, because we defend ourselves from this guy, just one animatronic, and in the end we know he gets the same fate as his victims, and then dies finally (until he didn't) and the souls are put to rest finally. Deliah and Springtrap is a different interpretation for why. Everyone has their own theories.
This subject is dark so I'll leave at that. Will keep watching the videos and see where the story goes, which I think is set in that same Purple guy era.

Building a Fabula World, Part 2a
Originally, my intention had been to put everything we came up with for the questions asking us to add Nations and Historical Events in this post but... then I actually looked at the amount of stuff we came up with. I then promptly decided I'd subdivide it a little bit, just to save mine and everyone else's sanity.
Anyway...
3. Kingdoms and Nations
The book asks the players to create the major kingdoms and nations of the world, marking their borders and discussing their relations. Whether they have strong alliances or strained relationships. How they interact with the world at large. Each person is expected to contribute at least one kingdom, and to consider their customs, beliefs, industry, and denizens. We also decided, though the book did not ask us to, to consider which of the 16+ character classes the game offers across the core rule book and it's playtest materials are most likely to come from a given place.
The Folk - Tentative name, Provided by Damon
An analog for Indigenous people in the real world, for whom magic is a way of life. It is their art and their culture. It's strongest practitioners are its priests and political representatives. They respect the ancient and esoteric nature of the magic forces of the world and aspire daily to live in harmony with the natural world. They are a largely nomadic people, who follow the currents of magic--the pulse of the world tree--through the wild places of the world. They are staunchly opposed to the industrialization of magic, believing that technological advancements are disrupting "the pulse" and some amongst their number are not above committing violence or destroying property to prevent it. They have little to no racial animus, so long as you are willing to follow the old ways, and their traveling bands include a higher than average concentration of Animal featured demi-humans. Their naming conventions are most often a form of Adjective Noun construct like "Active Iron" or "Defiant Roach". The Folk have a higher than average concentration--and are likely the source--of Arcanists (think Final Fantasy Summoners) and Chimerists (Blue Mages).
The Industrial Powerhouse - Name pending, Provided by Kevin
A Nation on the vanguard of technological development. Their fashion, culture, and architectural style is a call back to Victorian England and steampunk nonsense. Their towns, especially their capital, are sprawling rats nests of stone and steel and steam. Their inventors are always more concerned with whether or not they can, and not with whether or not they should. Politically, they are the most at odds with The Folk because they believe that Humanity is meant to be the masters of the world, and that magic and nature should be made to serve them and not vice versa. They push for stability through law and order, and attempt to keep the population in line by providing a lack of scarcity of food, entertainment, and luxury goods, even as they push their citizens to work harder and longer in conditions that are not always safe. The nation's ultimate goal is to find a way to lock the natural cycle of magic in the world into a static state that is both predictable and controllable. The Industrial Powerhouse is a possible source for characters of the Tinkerer (Your Edgar of Final Fantasy 6 type) or Pilot classes.
I'll leave it with those two for now, but already we can see my players picking up the pieces of the small handful facts we decided on in the first two steps and running with them: one faction exemplifying the ancient and esoteric nature of magic and a oneness with nature, and another a capitalist nightmare state built on the scientific innovations Arcane Distillate. A natural animosity formed as a result of opposing ideals.
Shades of Final Fantasy 6 and 7 are strong here, all the more funny for the fact that most of my players have never played either of these games, and this is only the first two! I've still got SIX more to go!
Still, seems like we're already shaping up to make Capitalism the bad guy.

Meet the Author
Hi, it occurred to me that I really should do one of these so y’all can get to know me a little better! Feel free to skip, but this one is a ride!
My name is Sam, he/him, and I’m a 28 year old trans man from the Nevada desert. I’m mixed race being half Filipino (my Dad immigrated to the US back in....like... I wanna say like ‘82?) and half Black, though I wasn’t really raised with either of my cultures so I’m learning more about both sides as I get older.
I’ve been writing since I was smol, originally because my adopted Grandfather (on my mom’s side) was a storyteller himself and I admired the way he could just.... spin an entire story at a moment’s notice. Coolest thing in the world to baby Sam. When he passed (can’t remember how old I was, but I was lil) I promised I’d keep telling stories the way he did to help keep his memory alive for me. He was the only member of my family I was genuinely close to, and being able to have a way of connecting with him was everything at the time.
All of my skills are self taught (I honestly cannot learn from other people without frustrating both sides, neurodivergents you feel me, right?) for that reason and primarily because I’m from a very poor family and I don’t have the means to reach out to higher learning even if I thought it might work for me. That includes any artwork I produce, any acting I do, any music I create, any writing I’ve made. All of it. I’ve spent a lot of time alone and it helped me keep my sanity to allocate that time to learning skills instead of chewing on the walls of my mental health.
I started writing the series I’m currently creating when I was in 6th grade. Yeah, it’s been that long. The first iteration of Carpe Noctem was actually called Eternal Knight and it featured Frost as the main character rather than Xinghua, but as I was in 6th grade it was a bit of a mess. There are a lot of things I’ve changed since then, but also a lot of Easter Eggs left in from that time. It’s grown a lot since then and I cannot state to you how much it means to me that I’ve gotten to the publication stage with it. I’ve been incredibly unlucky though life and due to one thing or another (My mother pawning my computer, or the computer just dying, having to move and losing the physical copy in the process) I’ve had to rewrite this story in it’s entirety four separate times.
It’s a labor of love but also probably a bit of a coping technique as, like I mentioned, I am incredibly unlucky. I’ve spent quite a lot of time homeless, and was so when I was working on making my publishing company and publishing the book earlier this year. My traditional publication attempts have been abysmal at best, and given the climate of the industry these days, I thought it would be better and ultimately easier to self-produce. Which is debatable, but it does put me in the driver’s seat of this whole thing. So if you’re looking to support an independent creator, know that there’s currently just me working on this story and I could really really use any support you’re able to give, even if that’s just chatting with someone about this crazy vampire novel you heard of online.
If I’m honest this story represents hope for me, the fierce, unfuckable belief that for as bad as things ever get, at the very least I can make something I consider beautiful and worthwhile. Something that might be able to let someone else escape whatever they’re going through for a while the same way it’s done for me. Above all, I think I write with that hope in mind.
Honestly most of my personal story is sad but at this point I think we’re all on that level. So suffice it to say, despite life throwing hands with me on sight, I’m a stubborn little dude with a lot of drive to make engaging and creative stories even if they never go anywhere.
I would say I’ve been inspired by works like Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Underworld, Twilight, and The Vampire Diaries, but what I really mean by that is I constantly see work that’s just on the cusp of being really good that I end up frustrated by their failings (I’m sure you all relate to that) and then go write a story that subverts all of those issues. I was inspired by the MCU in the same way, but you’ll have to stick around to see what I mean by that.
Overall, I’m just a stressed out little guy doing his best to tell silly stories that let people have some fun and maybe cry a little tiny bit. Thanks for coming to my TED talk.

My life is filled with regrets. The worst of them is my failure of being a Jedi Master, a mentor, a student and a close friend. It is only now that I have taken my seat on the Jedi Council that I started to reflect on my decisions that led me here. But perhaps I should start from the beginning and try to understand where things went wrong.
It was many years ago when I was recruited into the Jedi Order and taken to Tython. I didn't know where I originally came from. But I think it’s for the best that I rather not know. I became the padawan to Master Yuon Par who I had grown to admire. Maybe that is where things started to go wrong. As a Jedi I shouldn't let my emotions cloud my judgment. But Yuon par was like the world to me. I know the Jedi Order has let go of their past prejudice and have only now started to welcome in more Sith bloods. But during my time I was the only one of my kin to join. And I was only a hybrid. I was shunned, disgraced and even looked down upon due to my heritage. But Yuon Par was the only one that took me as her student. I imagine she saw my potential and wanted to train me. I am eternally grateful for her. Which is why it saddened me when she passed. But that was part of a much bigger issue.
A Sith lord named Lord Vicicar had spread a terrible plague among the Order, infecting Jedi with the “coming darkness” as they would call it. During my time on Coruscant I had learnt the shielding technique that was originally practiced by the first Barsen’thor. I used the shielding technique to protect jedi victims from the plague. But each time I use it it costs me my strength. My mentor was hit badly from it. I could feel her strength fading as I held her hand, but I couldn’t let her down.
But of her own choosing she decided to sacrifice her sanity to found Lord Vicicar. She asked me to drop the shield and so I did. The madness brought her to her knees and she begged me to kill her. But I refused. I wanted to save her. But I was too weak to reuse the shield and Yuon Par died from exhaustion. I was so angry. I wanted to kill Lord Vicicar. I wanted him dead. And I did. I killed Lord Vicicar. But at the cost of so many lives. All those I had saved died in an instant the moment Lord Vicicar fell to my blade. The plague was over but in the end I had failed. And that's how I got the title of Barsen'thor, surprisingly.
Then after that I help reunite the Rift Alliance to the Republic by being their representative and doing chores for them. And that is how I discover the “Children of the Emperor” A group of force wielding sleeper agents that have infiltrated the Republic. All created by the Sith Emperor and his nasty goons.
It was my role to stop these children since the Hero of Tython was currently out of commission. But first I need to address the elephant in the room. I’m sure some of you are aware of my fall to darkness. Yeah at some point during my career I had reached my lowest point. Consumed by my grief and my anger and my depression and coated with the responsibility of being the Barsen'thor, plus with all the voices in my head, I had slowly succumbed to corruption. But that whole turning evil thing didn’t happen until I got to Voss. I did mention it was slow progress which was the most frightening thing about all of this.
It all started at Nar Shaddaa. Nar Shaddaa was an experience. Not in a very bad way I mean I did enjoy my time there. But there was an unusual feeling about it. It felt like there was someone watching me. Stalking my every movement and waiting for me to lower my guard. I guess it was also that place where I started to make some questionable decisions. That was when I first heard the voices.
The more planets I explored the stronger the voices got. They began to overwhelm me and I began to listen to them more and more. I onced called it wisdom. But now I know it was a deception. My deepest darkest thoughts bloom like flowers. And the worst part is that they smelled good. That led me down a terrible path.
As wise as I was, I didn't understand it. But I now know that the whispers were caused by my sith heritage. Sith purebloods were naturally attune to the dark side. Rejecting it would be like rejecting nature itself. As a sith blood hybrid there is no exception for me. The Dark Side was calling out to me. It wanted me to use its power so I would become a dark lord of the sith. But I resisted, and I resisted for as long as I could until I was forced to make a choice. An evil darkness threatens to consume the planet of Voss. Sel-Makor would have unleashed chaos and millions possible billions would die. The only way to stop Sel-Makor was to embrace the dark side. So I sacrifice myself to darkness and I become Darth Venomics.
It’s also ironic. My mentor sacrificed herself in a similar fashion, except she didn’t live long to become a sith. I fought Sel-Makor and I obliterated him. But it wasn’t enough. I needed more bloodshed. I needed something to calm this eternal hunger that I had awakened. Then I remembered my real quest. I was going to kill those bastard children now that I was free from my chains. But I was stopped by my friends. Qyzen Fess, the loyal Trandoshan hunter. Tharan Cedrax, the humorous scientist. Zenith, the twi’lek rebel. Felix, the honest soldier. And Nadia Grell, my padawan who I had let down. I don’t remember how It ended but I do know that the reign of Darth Venomics came to a short end.
The Voss was so impressed by my bravery that not only did they offer me the army I needed but they also offered me a cleanse ritual that would make the dark influence go away.
So I accepted their gift and I did the cleanse ritual and I was returned back to my original self, but now twice as strong.
I  traveled to Corellia to deal with the children of the Emperor once more and retake the Guardian holds that were stolen from us. The Leader, the first son, reveals himself to be Syo Bakarn. Guess you could say my reaction to this news as devastation would be understatement.
One by one with my army we retook the Guardian holds. The First Son had fled to an Imperial fleet with the full intention to escape the destruction that would soon fall upon Corellia. I chased him to the fleet and I confronted him.
I tried to convince Syo Bakarn to fight back against the darkness as I had. But I soon realized that Syo Bakarn was murdered by the First Son. I had no other choice but to kill him. With his death the children of the Emperor were revealed to the Republic with their shield having been destroyed. The Rift Alliance was welcomed into the Republic and I was granted a seat on the jedi Council.
Although the battle was over, the children were defeated and I had overcome a great darkness, I did not count this as a victory. The loss of so many lives lay on my shoulders. But as the new Barsen'thor it is my responsibility to not let their memories go in vain. I will honor my master's legacy and I will continue my role as the keeper of knowledge, despite what I was and what I had been before
