DP x DC AU: Danny desperately wants to find the explosion guy. Tim is really good at covering his tracks... he didn't account for ghosts.
The explosions make it onto TV as purported terror activity and most people haven't heard of that part of the world much less ever given a second thought to care about it. The only real reason it gets reported on has something to do with the Justice League and... Danny knows too much.
He's been in training for Clockwork's court (which he's suspicious of- feels like kingly duty bullshit- but Danny is playing along out of curiosity for now) and he's learned a lot about how the living and non-living worlds collide. That means learning about CW's usual suspects- one of which just happened to have a ton of bases around the area Danny was seeing on the news.
It didn't take long for Danny to try to piece together that whoever blew up Nanda Parbat was trying to fuck with the League of Shadows, and was doing it successfully. Less green portals in the world the better, same goes for assassins. But it gets Danny thinking... Maybe he can employ similar tactics on the GIW Bases that keep spawning on the edges of Amity Park. It would at least set them back while he and his friends navigated the help line desk to request Justice League intervention. None of them can leave Amity Park, so outreach is going to have to be creative.
So Danny figures he'll just find the guy. Call up some ghosts who were there, or er, came from there and get a profile and track him down. But the ghosts keep saying it was The Detective. Annoying!
Danny goes full conspiracy theory, gets Tucker and Sam involved, and begrudgingly asks Wes Weston his thoughts.
He hadn't expected Wes to garble out a thirty minute presentation (that had 100 more slides left to go before he cut it off) about how Batman totally trained with a cult and so did his kids. Danny kind of rolled his eyes but... hey, new avenue of searching in the Infinite Realms at least.
The ghosts confirm that Bombs is for sure not Batman's MO- But maybe his second kid would know? The second kid was already brought back to life though, so no way to easily reach him... Danny starts to realize that this might be the work of a Robin now. Wasn't the red one known for solving cold cases? (Sam provides this information- its a social faux pas to not know hero gossip at Gotham Galas- everything she's learned is against her will).
It all comes to a head when Danny goes about the hard task of opening a portal for the guy to come through at just the right time, explain the infinite realms so he doesn't panic and then describe what the fuck was going on with the GIW. It takes months, just over a full year, of random (educated guesses) portal generating- Finally, Red Robin drops into the land of the dead.
"So, you're the guy I've got to talk to about explosions right?" Danny enthusiastically asks.
Tim thinks he's died and landed in the after life following 56 hours of being awake and plummeting off the side of a building into a Lazarus pool. Nothing makes sense about the kid in front of him.
"Yeah, I got a guy for munitions." Tim answers cooly.
"How do you feel about secretly sanctioned government operations that violate protected rights?"
"Gotta get rid of 'em some how. Need me to point you in the right direction?" This might as well be happening.

Would it be possible to read what happened during Phantom's mating season peak in The Bakery is a Front from Tim's POV? I just think the pure baffled energy that Tim would be radiating from being taken care of so nicely by his hot kidnapper from another dimension would be hilarious. Really the whole kidnapping had to have been a better experience than some of the galas Tim has been forced to attend; at least definitely the best kidnapping he has ever experienced, 10/10 would be kidnapped again.
It happens so fast.
One second he's suffering through Danny's overdose, and the next, the dead body in his arms is leaping over Bruce and trapping Damian in an iron-clad grip.
Jason and Dick react the fastest, but it does nothing to someone who can density shift. Tim can only watch Danny sobs on top of Damian, speaking in a strange dialect. It sounded like cracking ice every time he wailed.
"Unhand me!" Damian grunts snaping a knife into Danny's side. Despite the apparent red spot growing on Danny's shirt, the other man doesn't flatter in his movements in the slightest. He squeezes harder, but it doesn't seem like he's trying to hurt Damian. If anything, it looks like he's...cradling him? Yes, it did in fact, seem like Danny is attempting to cradle Damian like a baby.
What on earth-?
"Shit! Danny put him down!" A new voice shouts. Three women and a man burst into the room. Tim has yet to learn where they come from, but Bruce wastes no time throwing a pair of Batbolas at them. It hits the target on the man and the red hair women, tangling their legs and knocking them off.
The man yelps while the woman grunts, throwing her arms in front of her in an obviously trained reaction. She can't stop herself from falling all the way, but her reflex is nothing to scoff at.
She doesn't seem to care as she shouts at the drug dealer. "Daniel Fenton, you let that boy go right now! Are you listening to me?"
"Danny is not here right now."
Tim jerks his head in his fake boss' direction watching in horror as the man's usual blue starts glowing green, and his dark hair bleeds into white. There is an unnatural glow emanating from under his skin that makes him appear so beautiful Tim loses his train of thought for a moment.
This transformation seems a bit too much to just be a meta-gene activation. Is Danny....not human?
One of the women- who looks like a younger female version of Danny- blasts him with a zap of green from her hand. It reminds him of Starfire, but while his friend's blast is nothing but heat, the green of the girl seems more light than flame.
He drops, unconscious, letting go of Damian. The newcomers relax when the goth-looking one kneels next to him and presses her hands against his neck. Danny appears returns to the human one Tim is used to in another quick blink of an eye. "No pulse!"
"Thank goodness." The red hair, one says, sitting up. It's then that Tim realizes it's Jazz. The one that talked down Jason and the rest of Danny's men not even two weeks ago. So neither left of the siblings left overseas? How had they tricked Babs? "No pulse means he's still in his mating season. Quick we have to get him quarantined again before-"
"You are not going anywhere!" Jason growls, leveling his gun at her. Jazz blinks down the barrel, then raises a brow. It reminds Tim of Alfred when the man found his hidden coffee machine- disgusted, disappointed, but most of all, unimpressed.
His brother sneers. "I want to know what is happening here and I want to know now!"
"Can you not read?" Jazz returns, speaking as if an annoying customer demands a service she can not provide. "I put up signs that clearly said Quarantine do not enter around Danny's house. Why do you think that is? Oh, maybe, it means to leave this area alone."
"You bats are lucky we got here when we did," The man says, trying to twist out his binds. It's not going too well, as a few electric mobiles slip out of his pockets. "The only way to snap the human side of Danny out of his daze is by making him deny his obsession which is something I hate doing."
What?
"I hate hitting him too" The girl with the energy blasts pouts "I makes my stomach turn."
She twists at her waist seconds before Damian's foot swings through the air, where her head was only seconds before. She sidesteps his three other attacks, face twisting into a sneer. "Hey! Back off! We don't share the same obsession!"
"Silence wrench!" Damian sneers, which makes her even angrier.
"Make me, you wannabe pirate!" the girl hisses, and it's then that Tim realizes they may even be the same age. She is doing a masterful job of barely being out of Damian's deadly reach.
"Don't hurt him, Elle!" Jazz shouts, "Things are already complicated enough-"
The goth woman screams as she is suddenly launched into the air, slamming into Bruce and cutting off the redhead. Dick rushes to the now-standing Danny, aiming a barrage of attackers that the man easily slips through. Bruce throws the woman off him, slamming her against the wall and knocking her out in the same action. The man screams as Jason shoots out his kneecaps and Tim-
Tim suddenly finds himself unable to think as large green eyes overtake his vision. Danny's eyes and hair are bleeding in and out of different colors as the man stares at him. "Mate...."
Tim's mouth dries, and his eyes are drinking in the man. He knows he should be doing something, but Tim can't remember what he should be-.
"TIM!" Dick screams, snapping him out of his daze, and....oh, Tim is falling. Danny- or whatever is pretending to be Danny- has pushed him by pressing his hands against his chest and shoving him through a portal.
Danny is watching his drop with a soft smile, that is at odds with Jason appearing at his side with guns blazing.
Tim drops onto a pile of soft snow- or what he thinks is snow. It looks like it, soft like a fresh full pillow, but it's not cold. If anything, it's the perfect temperature to nap in.....he's exhausted. When was the last time Tim slept? He can't remember.
His eyes are getting heavy. His body is going boneless.....he has never been so comfortable in his whole life....is this what it feels like to rest on a cloud...
Tim blinks, around the room trying to fight the urge to give into the darkness, and he notes that he seems to be in a castle made entirely of ice and snow...like Danny's home.....he also appears to be in a tower? The windows are shaped like one.
Tim takes note of the sky being a bright green color which is..odd, but that's all he can think clearly as he finally goes under.
_________________________________________
It feels like he only closes his eyes for a second when Tim is startled awake by a scream of rage. Jerking away, he sits up, trying to gather his bearings. He needs to find out where he is and where his gear is.
Tim pulls on the crotcheted sweater he's been stuffed into, breathing a sigh of relief when he realizes his Red Robin outfit is still on underneath. He climbs out of the bed made entirely of snow, flickering his eyes about.
He's covered head to toe in other crotchety objects- pants, sweater, socks, gloves, a scarf, and a hat- all big enough to fit comfortably against him and his vigilante costume. Raising a hand to his face, he touches the smooth leather of his trusted mask.
Right. Danny let him keep his secret identity intake. That's... something.
He glances around his surroundings again, this time for sure, that his in some type of castle covered in ice. It's beautiful, like something out of a Disney movie with shiny crystal frozen designs everywhere. He carefully makes his way to the window, looking out into a far darker green of a sky.
He squints into the distance seeing acres and acres of a vast castle and land, but on the far right, there seems to be a drop....a cliff? Or the edge of this island. For you see, he could make out flouting doors and islands in the sky.
This differently wasn't his earth.
Danny, not being human, was becoming more and more plausible.
"Release me!" A voice echo. Damian.
Tim slams the door open, sprinting down the hall toward his younger brother's distress calls. It's a castle; even if everywhere he turns, it seems to be a frozen wonderland.
There are ice sculptures of Danny between every large ice pillar. They portray him as Tim usually is used to or as a being with a tail instead of legs mid-flight. There are portraits of various people hanging on the walls- he can make out Jazz and the others that busted into Danny's apartment- but there all encased in ice.
There are no guards, so when Tim sprints down a giant stairway, he is hyper-aware of his footsteps echoing on the cracking ice. He rounds the hallway, then stumbles to a stop at the sight before him.
It was Danny. At least, he thinks so. The being had a strong resemblance to him, but his skin had a slight blueish hue, his ears were pointed, his hair was pure white, he was glowing, and most of all, he didn't have legs.
The sculptures hadn't been a artistic choice Danny in this form had a tail and he was flying around a restrain Damian.
His brother was in a gaint baby doorway jumper, encased in what looked like a snow swaddle.
Damian is also covered head to toe in crochet clothing, but his Robin costume peaks from underneath it. Danny was flying around him, placing piles of snow on the ground around the struggling child, making noises like creaking ice and purring when he came close to pat Damian.
It also looked like Danny....was nesting with Damian in the center of it.
What in the world?
"I'll have your head!" Damian sneers as Danny gently places a bear beanie on his head. " I am not a child!"
"My baby" Danny coos, then starts making more cracking noise. He rubs his head against Damian like a cat which causes the boy to grimace.
Tim needs to get him out of there. He looks around for a weapon, but his gear doesn't seem near him. The only thing he can possibly use is the ice around the walls-
"Crackle, crack, Clank, Click!" Danny suddenly says in his face. He crossed the room at the same speed Bart would have, or maybe faster since he didn't even see a blur. Tim jerks back, but the glowing figure is already reaching out-.
He places a scarf around his neck with an adorable head tilt.
"Drake! Run! He'll swaddle you!"Damian screams, but Tim can't look away. He's so beautiful. Danny's bright green eyes, sparkling with the stars of the universe, and his lips are so full, he bets they would be perfect to kiss- is someone purring? Tim could fall asleep to that sound- it must be a white noise machine-!
He snaps his eyes open, shocked to find himself back in the original room.
Tim is back in the damn nest. Confused, he blinks around the room, noticing the sky is bright again and that he's tucked into the bed with great care. He's never felt more rest, so he knows he just spends hours sleeping.
He doesn't even remember getting moded, damn it.
""Red Robi- can you- where are you- report!" Tim's eyes widened when he realized Bruce's voice. It's his communicator! He scrambles out of the bed, straining his ears. "Re-Rob-in!""
There! His earpiece is in one of the ice crystals hanging from the ceiling. Miraculously it's still working, as he can barely make out Bruce's shouts. After four kicks of the crystal, he breaks it down, shattering it on the ground.
He quickly places it back into his ear. "Batman, I'm here!"
"Thank goodness!" An unknown woman says, making Tim flatter for only a moment. "Listen to me, my name is Sam, and right now, there is only one way to escape Danny's mating season without bloodshed. See, Phantom is in control right now, which means his obsession is at its highest. What does Danny not deem important enough to protect? Himself."
" We have to snap him out of it by having those under his protection stand up to him and....hit him. Anybody attacks will confuse Phantom so much the human side of Danny will be forced to take the front." Another female voice puts it. Jazz. She sounds unhappy, as she admits. "A punch to the head, or slap or something, just one from enough people under his protection will freeze Phantom for a moment."
Tim frowns. "I have no idea what you mean. How will that help get us away?"
"Well, we have a plan for that," A man says wearily. The one with all the electronics. "You may not like it...but we must get you to sacrifice yourself for Robin's freedom."
His siblings start shouting over the communicator but Jazz silence everyone with her explanation.
A very long explanation of ghosts, cores, and obsessions, but the gist is that Phantom and Danny's balance was disruptive, so the only way was to cause his human side to get clarification was by presenting Phantom with a paradox.
Phantom will protect all. Danny will allow anyone to hurt him because of his terrible self-esteem. Hence Phantom will not know if it should defend them when it's Danny in danger but it will pull at his core because something is still under attack in front of him.
However, as ghost king, Danny is crazy strong, so they need to attack with something Phantom would never try to defend himself from. His sister and two best friends suddenly slapping or punching him? Phantom would typically react by beating them away, but that would mean hurting the beings he exists to protect.
That's just the physical aspect of it too. Tim's sacrifice would pull at Danny's human emotions while Phantom would panic about needing to save Tim from the ghost he was sacrificed to. Which would be himself.
It should snap them both by tugging them in two different directions of their instincts.
Tim wonders if it will work-
He wakes up to Phantom purring and messaging his sore muscles. To his left is a feast of all of Tim's favorites. Even though he is the elite of Gotham, he's never been so pampered in his life.
Dang, it better work. Tim is getting far too comfortable in this castle. He may never want to leave.
"Phantom if you let my brother go ill be your mate."
"!" Phantom pauses then let's out a sound that sounds like twinkling bells glowing so bright he could be a star
"Only If you accept me as a sacrifice in exchange for my brother's freedom" Tim holds his break then jumps at the sound of shattering glass that comes from Phantom's mouth.
He blinks a few moments, fighting himself, until Phantom nods determined. "Mate will bring children. I need children."
"Ugh sure pal. Do we have a deal?"
"Deal"
It's a weird Tuesday.
Damian is home ten minutes later, and within the hour, Phantom overloads from the paradox.
Tim opens a portal home that night, and Danny sleeps through the rest of his mating season, going under when Phantom and he fights about Tim's fate.

So. What actually happened between Secret and Spoiler?
The meat of this story goes down in Young Justice (1998) #30.
Tumblr media
Taking place sometime shortly after the YJ crew returns from their adventures in space with Doiby Dickles, the story proper opens with a scene of Steph trying to follow Tim home to find out his identity and getting caught to establish that tension in their current dynamic for anyone who wasn't also reading Robin at the time.
As a refresher, when they decided to date (which was a couple of publishing years back at this point, during the events leading up to No Man's Land) Tim had tried to talk Steph out of it because he couldn't tell her his secret identity and he didn't think that was fair. Steph had responded with, quote, "I don't care about any of that, Robin. I just want to be with you." But she'd recently decided she wasn't happy with that arrangement after all and had been sneaking around trying to learn his identity behind his back.
This issue is very cathartic to me because it's one of the only times she's called out for violating her boyfriend's privacy, which starts here:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Couple of things to make note of here: Greta's not attacking Steph. We'd previously seen what it looks like when she uses her billowing clouds of angry smoke to attack (against Harm and the Pointmen, for example), and that's not what's happening here, she's just really pissed off. Steph is the one who escalates the whole thing to violence with that kick.
And while there is an element of jealousy here -- Secret did follow Robin home to get a look at his girlfriend -- the thing that's set her off isn't seeing Steph with Robin, it's learning of and seeing her self-centered justifications for her plans to continue trying to violate his boundaries. Which, it should also be noted, is something that Secret could do much more easily, but chooses not to. So it probably just pisses her off even more to learn that her crush is dating someone who'd disrespect him like that.
So they take it outside.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Where Greta, despite her anger, is almost certainly holding back because... yeah, let's face it, Steph doesn't actually stand a chance in this match-up. She has no powers, she hasn't even trained with Cass at this point; I don't know where she got that grenade but she's otherwise working with like a red belt in strip mall aikido and a bunch of gear she probably bought out of the back of a magazine. Secret is a sentient hellportal, a conduit between the realms of the living and the dead. She's pissed off, but she's still mostly focused on calling Steph out with her words rather than physically harming her.
Which Steph responds to with, again, a grenade and... this:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Why yes, that sword does come out of nowhere for a single panel and then vanishes into the ether, never to be explained or mentioned again. I find that hilarious. I suspect the script just said "Spoiler cuts the power lines" and left Todd Nauck to figure out how that worked.
But uh, speaking of how that worked -- in Greta's defense for how she'll behave later on in this post, Steph just clearly tried to kill her first. Like. I assume that any grenade a Bat is carrying around isn't so high-powered that it's actually going to hurt somebody if thrown at them directly so for all my joking I'll give her a pass for that, but the power lines?
Steph, of course, has no way of knowing that electricity is Greta's weakness, let alone that it's a trauma trigger for her. But she also has no way of knowing that Greta isn't an average metahuman teenager who would just, y'know, die from being hit with several hundred to several thousand volts of electricity. Which is part of a trend in Steph's characterization -- she's always had a tendency to make rash, dangerous decisions like this and only consider the ramifications after the consequences smack her in the face.
And once again, this is Steph's escalation; Greta only lets loose after Steph tries to low-key murder her. But I did say in my previous post that she was explicitly trying not to kill Steph here, right? That's because she's not:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Oh," she says, directly to Steph's face. "I'm not going to kill you, but you're going to wish I had!"
The issue ends with Tim giving the girls a lecture about trust that... honestly, doesn't actually make much sense, but it's only there to set up the bullshit Bruce would soon pull in Robin to wrap up the whole Steph-and-Tim's-secret-identity subplot.
Instead, I'll just take this moment to point out that these two pages are the only part that anyone besides Steph and Greta themselves actually saw: Steph, overpowered and running like bugger all while a furious Greta hunted her down. Tim and Red Tornado don't have any other context for this encounter, and anyone else hearing about it would have even less.
We should also probably address the question of whether Greta was actually trying to hurt Steph here and: no, I don't think she was. Not physically, anyway. I think when she tells Reddy that she "just wanted to scare" Steph, she was telling the truth. Which, mind you, means she was going to dump her into a terrifying hell dimension and give her a repeated taste of her own mortality. But it wouldn't have hurt her; it didn't hurt the gang when they teleported through it in issue 19. And, frankly, between this issue and the shit Steph pulls over the course of the Robin issues around this subplot... I think she deserved it.
I never said I wasn't a hater.
Now, to be fair, Steph has no way to know this. She doesn't know Greta, and she doesn't have a reason to think kindly of her. And like I mentioned, it's an important part of Greta's storyarc that her powers and her connection to death makes her friends suspicious of her, and that suspicion sadly drives her to Darksied.
Which is why I'm inclined to think that their next encounters, brief as they are, are deliberately framed. First in issue 50:
Tumblr media
And then in issue 54, during the storyline where Secret has allied herself with Darksied:
Tumblr media
This leads into Greta basically eating Steph for reasons that don't actually have to do with their conflict -- she's already eaten the D.E.O., ie, the people who held her prisoner, and would continue to eat, it's implied, everyone on Earth except the members of Young Justice, saving them for last as we come to climax of the story. That probably counts as "trying to kill Steph" so technically speaking Greta has tried to kill Steph once, it just wasn't the time everybody thinks about or in a jealous rage. It wasn't personal at all, she was just part of a checklist.
The important bit I wanted to focus on was Steph and Tim's descriptions of their past encounter, and the fact that Greta calls it an exaggeration. With that context, I'm inclined to think that "almost killed me in a jealous rage" is the way that Steph framed their story to other people, not necessarily because she was trying to manipulate anybody, but because that's how she, Stephanie, internalized and interpreted the event.
Because Steph, demonstrably, doesn't think she was doing anything wrong. If she wants something, like her boyfriend's secret identity, or whatever, she will come up with excuses and justifications why she should get to have it ("He's testing me! He wants me to figure it out!" etc.) and no one can change her mind. So it's inconceivable to her that this person who clearly has a crush on her boyfriend would actually be mad at her for the reason they say they're mad at her; clearly, to her, Secret was jealous, and therefore Secret must have been the aggressor. Plus, she was big and scary and Steph (to be fair) had no way of knowing that Greta was mostly just having trouble keeping her emotions under control.
And because nobody else saw what went down between them, people were more inclined to believe Steph's story over Greta's, partially because Greta was clearly the overpowering victor when Red Tornado and Robin arrived on the scene, and partially because Greta's powers mean people, even her friends, tend to be suspicious of her, which is a key point in her personal, rather tragic storyarc.
---
So, to summarize, because I know this has gotten rambly: Greta followed Steph home to investigate her and was angered by her violating Robin's privacy. Steph escalated their dispute into violence, and then further into attacks that could be perceived as lethal until she bit off more than she could chew. Robin and Red Tornado, arriving at the tail end of the fight, only saw the much more powerful Secret overwhelming normal human Spoiler and were therefore more inclined to believe Steph's version of the story which, naturally, framed her as the victim and Greta as the aggressor, when it was in actuality a more even fight fueled by anger rather than jealousy.

I was rereading the 16 November 1581 + snapped Bruce ask. And it made me think.
The first person to find out that Bruce has essentially groomed Tim is Jason. He comes to Gotham with the intention of killing his Replacement only to find out that he's dead. That the one who killed him was his own dad. He feels bad for the kid (but also kinda jealous because he also has read the reports of Bruce beating Jack up).
So the confrontation between Batman and Red Hood becomes different. He mentions of how Batman had favoritism. How he nearly killed the man that killed his last little bird but hadn't even done the same for the Robin before that. He would've liked to be the one to have beaten and killed Robin, such a shame, he tells Bruce.
After that, he notices something off. The manor has always been well-protected. And the security has been upgraded a lot since his return. But after their confrontation, Bruce has upped the security again. He kinda felt offended. It's not like he plans to attack the manor. Alfred and his favorite books are still there after all. So he wanted to piss Bruce off by bypassing the security.
And then he notices it. There's a room in the Manor far more secured than the others. What's odd is that it's in the family wing. It's not the room with the entrance to the cave. It takes a long time for him to get through it. Thankfully, he has the Bats distracted on a wild goose chase all over Gotham
To his surprise, inside the room is none other than his replacement. Alive and looks to be healthy. Tim is also surprised to see Jason. He didn't believe Bruce or Dick or Alfred when they told him his Robin is now a murderous drug lord who wanted to kill Tim. That's ridiculous! It's Robin! He tells Jason as much.
His surprise was enough to daze Jason into a conversation that didn't lead him into falling into Pit Rage. Tim learns of what happened to Jason and vice versa.
When Tim realizes that Jason is heavily traumatized by his death, he gets the great idea to help him the way Bruce has helped him. He'll make Jason forget about the trauma through pleasure.
Ngl, I've run out of fuel. Bruce comes back after Jason and Tim have several rounds of sex. They decide to explore their difference and vent their anger by spit roasting Tim until long after Tim has passed out. Jason agrees to move back home. Dick becomes the last one to find out and was extremely miffed about that and demands that he gets Timmy alone for a month

!!!!!!! tim is a happily caged little bird in that snapped bruce au!!! he's in good, loving hands who treat him gently and understand that he has been horribly traumatized from the experience with his father. and jason has never really developed the hatred he could've since, in his mind, tim had already been killed (and by his own father no less). reading about tim's "death" further fuels his anger and hatred because he was right!!!
when he finds tim in that carefully protected room- surrounded by soft blankets and pillows, stuffed animals, the floor littered with puzzles and books, and toys jason needs to stop just to make sure he's not actually dead. tim isn't afraid of jason because he knows bruce would never have allowed jason to get this far if he was a threat.
tim has been sweetened by bruce's grooming. he's more affectionate and honest and open, he develops a sort of sixth sense for knowing when bruce needs help feeling better and so he does the same to jason!!!!!
then bruce returning!!!! and find tim in his short little nightdress that's been half ripped open, his little pussy open and on display, puffy and leaking cum while jason curls up behind tim, arms wrapped around his front and lazily fucking his hard cock into tim's little hole because it hugs him so nicely. tim sweaty with his bangs sticking to his forehead and whimpering while pressing a hand down on his womb because he can feel the head of jason's cock battering his insides.
of course bruce has his fill once he gets over his shock and is able to talk to jason because a lot of jason's initial rage and hurt has been spent on fucking tim's pussy. tim whines as they talk, bruce slipping his cock into where jason's softened one has gently flopped out. he grinds into tim's warm, wet little cunt while whispering to jason in a low, hurt voice as they talk. when jason gets angry his tone gets sharper and he snaps his hips harder into tim while bruce's brows furrow in hurt and softly rub at tim's baby clit while pincing his tits.
jason muffles tim's soft whining by shoving his cum streaked cock into tim's mouth. bruce watches tim's plush lips begin gently nursing on the cock half down his throat and shivers with enough arousal to begin fucking a little harder until the wet sound of tim's pussy being fucked is almost drowning jason out.
by the end the two have worked out their differences and bruce is giving jason a soft, look as jason finishes with a grunt into tim's little baby making womb.
dick nearly has a heart attack at the sight of jason fucking tim when he arrives a few minutes later though that sentimental crying doesn't last long before he's pouting and furious at both of them for fucking tim behind his back.
but bruce recognizes the possessive look in dick's eyes and knows that he and jason will be cut out from using tim's pussy for awhile until dick decided they'd suffered enough.
but it's worth it. if it brings his sons closer to him, bruce will gladly return to using his hand until dick offers him use of his youngest son's cunt again.

This definitely isn’t the best, but I sat down to watch a Ranboo stream and suddenly realised I was two hours in and had this. Not my best art, but I still liked it :)
This was going to be in the tags but it exceeded 30:
I do not have an already existing au for this btw but from what I gathered pretty much Danny's at a high school/college at Gotham, he woke up on the street with his last memory being some dramatic fight ending with something about clockwork. these aren't blanks in his memory, those are blanks in my memory. but yeah. he's depressed, and can't contact his family or even know if they're alive. he tried drinking but his core burning even the strongest alcohol in seconds. he's aiming to become an astronaut in this universe, because doctors here aren't aware about his 'accident' aka the first few minutes after the portal where his heart stopped, that permanently scarred his record because they didn't have a clue what caused it, so he couldn't go to space because of safety risks. he is destroyed emotionally though, and is only really giving it a half assed attempt, which still puts him on the Waynes and/or Bats radar because he has: otherworldly (ghost zone) and insanely advanced (have you seen tuker? or the learning machines Lancer used) tech. he also has experience and idea from geniuses like tuker, his parents, himself, technus, also a load of dead geniuses. Yeah but, he’s the smartest kid in school by miles, but a complete and total loner because of how much he’s hurting. Everyone thinks he’s weird.
^^^that’s pretty much all I thought about while drawing it. But I’d imagine he contemplates killing himself but can never bring himself to because his ghost half has respect for the dead instincts and he can’t bring himself to get taken out like that, he wants to go out fighting, struggling, fighting tooth and claw, in a blaze of glory. I’d also imagine he tries not to know the bats, also ghostly respect, at least one of them is a ghost of some sort, and a lot of them are liminal or ecto contaminated, he doesn’t want to mess with them. He just shows up to class with coffee fit for Tim, and survives.
Then I’d imagine he ends up in a relationship, either strong platonic, or family/brother(maybe even father???), or strong sexual/romantic, with one of the bats (probably one of the siblings cause age differences y’know, but let him stew around in his emotions for years, then throw him at the older bats if you want) and then they help him get back home. He gives them all unmelt ice necklaces that can be used to summon him in return (thousands of years into the future most are still family heirlooms and they become incredibly powerful magic artefacts that summon the king of the dead himself), both for emergencies and just catching up.

Cassandra Cain Reading Guide Part 4: Alternate Universe Cass
Tumblr media
We've had DCU Cass. We've had Rebirth Cass. But what of Cass from another reality? Well, here's Part IV, a reading list of Alternate Universe Versions of Cassandra Cain!
Part I reading guide you can find here.
Part II reading guide (Modern) you can find here.
Part III reading guide (Random) you can find here.
Part V reading guide (PAIN) you can find here.
Tumblr media
Teen Titans #52-53
- Honorable mention to Titans Tomorrow Cass aka Batwoman, but-- she only shows up in three panels. She is Starroed like many Tomorrow Titans but does cry out to "Huntress" aka an older Charlotte Gage-Radcliffe who gets possessed first).
The curious thing about Titans Tomorrow Universe it is always in flux. Originally, her death (along with others by the hand of Duela Dent) caused the "bad tomorrow". Then the sequel well, cloning happened and Cass came back or the future still happened but now she was alive.
A further "revised" Tomorrow timeline shows up in Detective Comics #979 right after Titans Tomorrow Tim escape Jor-El alongside our Tim and then the two battle for a lengthy period in the present day DCU. #979 shows us the current variant of that future with Cass dying to Ra Al Ghul's hand. But-- we're told this by an unreliable narrator in General and Brother Eye.  As they say, Steph died too, but when we are reintroduced to this timeline (showing how Tomorrow Tim is snatched by Jor-El) she is very much alive.
Tumblr media
-DC Bombshells Black Bat-
DC Bombshells United #8, #18-19
Tumblr media
- We don't really get a feel for Cassandra's character in this. Other than we see her for a few panels and learn both she and Katana overthrew their corrupt governments and rebuilt them from scratch. Cass leads a group called the "Bats of Blood and Iron" and goes by the Black Bat moniker.
She's not much a character in this, more a footnote in this story. I feel like if there ever was a spinoff series. We really should get to see Cassandra/Katana more do these things that are mentioned. But.. I probably doubt we ever will. Or amazing variant covers by Ant Lucia.
-DCeased-
Tumblr media
DCeased: Unkillables #1-3
 DCeased: Dead Planet #1-7
DCeased: War of the Undead Gods #1-8
-  Though Cass doesn't appear in #1 and #4 of Dead Planet. Because the survivors don't come back to Gotham until #2 (when we see Cass again), and #4 (the journey to New Genesis). Cass shows up in #1 and #4 (War of the Undead Gods) so far.
Unkillables features the first full-on return of Cass's Batgirl costume in over ten years (2009 was the last time she wore it). It also explores the complicated mother/daughter relationship of Shiva/Cass.
Something big happens to Cassandra in Dead Planet. No spoilers (save Stephanie, who's over in DCeased: Hope at World's End), you're just gonna have to enjoy the moment like we did.
A curious little fact is this is the first DC Comic that has a universe that has Cass and Babs both as Batgirl (An infected Batgirl Babs is shown in the original DCeased), and her body is found by Cass and Jim Gordon in Unkillables #1 with both mourning the loss of her.
DCeased: War of the Undead Gods has Cass in the issues throughout but unlike the prior series doesn’t have a key role. Save for two noteworthy things in #1 and #7. That and has an AMAZINGLY gorgeous cover in #6 (a 1:50 variant and good luck finding one of those).
Interestingly, Cass is one out of two Bat-Family members to survive DCeased. Sadly, there could’ve been ONE MORE survivor if only writer Tom Taylor could give us the answer to that. Perhaps one day he will answer that subplot since he hasn’t SPOILED it.
- Amanda Conner Universe
Tumblr media
Wonder Woman #600
Harley Quinn & the Birds of Prey (Black Label) #1-4
   - A DCU similar but different as husband/wife team of Amanda Conner/Jim  Palmiotti various DC books (Power Girl, Harley Quinn, Terra, Starfire, and suggestions related).
If you were disappointed with the way Cassandra was handled in the live-action Harley Quinn and the Birds of Prey movie this comic gives us a more traditional Cass.
Not only does she steal the series from everyone, but there are exceptionally sweet moments in the final issue. A highly recommended mini to pick up! Cass embarrassing the Joker is worth the price alone!
It’s possible this story takes place either probably after Wonder Woman #600 (which also features Cass by Conner).
Tumblr media
Future State
Future State: The Next Batman #2, 4
Batman: Urban Legends #7
- Alternate future Gotham City where it is ruled tyrannically by a group known as the Magistrate. Rogues and Vigilantes alike are outlawed and hunted by the Magistrate’s chosen deputies and soldiers. Cass is the lone warrior who still follows Bruce’s ideology but is broken with Barbara missing and Stephanie breaking her heart (it is HEAVILY suggested the two had a relationship in this reality). To be entirely truthful, I was massively disappointed with this story. It was like being thrown into the middle of a story.
Once again, we get Dick acting like a dick to boot.  “Hunter.. or Hunted...” on the other hand features Cass hunted by the Magistrate with exceptional art. Of the two stories THIS IS THE ONE TO READ. Even if it throws you again of not knowing what’s going on. At the very least “Hunter... or Hunted...” gives Cass more pathos and a better overall showing.
There are TWO more tales with this version of Cass in Future State: Gotham. But.. the only important things of those to note is the gorgeous variant cover #6). But please do avoid the other tale that involves FS Cass at the tail end of Future State Gotham. Unless you want PAIN.
Tumblr media
Shadow of the Batgirl
- Literally this comic other than the OG Puckett/Scott run is a remarkable tale that nails the character of Cassandra Cain perfectly. Like literally, you just want a complete origin and character study of Cass/ Why... why is it suddenly raining in my room again? This graphic novel is that good for long time fans of the character. Newbie fans might be interested as it is a one and done (so far).
Tumblr media
Batman: Wayne Family Adventures
Episode 1 "Moving In" (mentioned and acknowledges her adoption)
Episode 2 "The Last Cookie" (first appearance in the series)
Episode 5 "Arm Day"
Episode 7 "Vigilante Bingo" (mentions she's been Batgirl, Black Bat, and Orphan in this universe)
Episode 10 "Crush 3/3"
Episode 13 "Stupid Traditions"
Episode 14 "Unaccompanied"
Episode 15-16 "Family Ties"
- First Cass-centric arc in the series. Focuses on Cassandra's love for ballet, and Bruce trying to balance his life as a father and vigilante.

Episode 17 "Top Chef" (Thanksgiving episode)
Episode 19 "Bat-Cow's Day Out"
Episode 21 "Holiday Spirit" (Christmas episode)
Episode 22 "The Tournament"
Episode 32-33 "All Seeing"
- Second major arc focuses solely on Cass. The episodes showcase the many qualities of the character on why are a fan of the character. A good starting point for new readers on the character.
Tumblr media
Episode 36-37 "Belonging"
Episode 48 "Shovel Talk"
- Cass and Duke centric episode with the family dealing with the possibility she has a boyfriend. Wackiness ensues.
Episodes 49-50 "One More" (mentioned only)
Episode 51 "Night In" (Season 1 finale)
Episode 52 Assassin (Season 2 Premiere)
Episode 56 “Why We Fight Part 2″
Episode 57 “Picture Day”
Episode 61 “What Matters Most Part 2″
Episode 66 “No Doors Allowed”
Episode 67 “Branching Out” (Cass/Steph meet Harley/Ivy wackiness ensues)
Episode 68 “Thankful”
Episode 70 “Hunted Part 2″
Episode 72 “Snowfall Part 1″ (part one of Holiday episode)
Episode 73 “Snowfall Part 2″ (part two of Holiday episode)
Episode 78 “Outlaws” (slight tie-in to Red Hood: Outlaw spinoff webtoon comic)
Episode 82 “Sneak Attack”
Episode 90 “What I Want Part 1″
Episode 91 “What I Want Part 2″ (first appearance of David Cain in series, first full appearance of Cass’s Batgirl costume, origin of Cass in this universe.)
Episode 93 ”Alarm Bells”
Episode 98 “Power Outage”
Tumblr media
- Episodes 66-67, and 70 are the Cass-related episodes (so far). We get some amusing sister/brother antics in Episode 66 with Jason/Cass trying to impart their “wisdom” of dramatic entrances to Duke. Only for the later to give his own inclusion how make an entrance.
Episode 67 has Cass/Steph are watching over a bedridden Harley Quinn and meet Poison Ivy. Amusing adorable hijinks ensue.
Episode 70 reveals Babs making sure Cass/Steph are in on her mission. Showing the trust and bonds the three have with one another.
- Cass is mentioned in the spinoff series to WFA, Red Hood: Outlaws in episode 46.5 Like Son Part II, Damian records Bruce confessing and then hugging Jason that “I’m sorry. I was wrong.” To save himself, Damian says if Bruce does anything to him, he’ll tell Cass. Bruce relents.
- Episode 90-91 is Cass’s first central dramatic story in Season 2. She and Damian run afoul of Mad Hatter who brainwashes her to attack her sibling. In part 2 we see Cass’s origin in WFA, as it uses Pre-New 52 David Cain (in his first appearance in the series). Cass breaks free and Damian/her share a cute brother/sister moment afterward.
DC Vs. Vampires
Tumblr media
DC vs. Vampires #2, #4-6
DC vs. Vampires: Hunter #1 (one panel)
DC vs. Vampires #10-11, #12 (in shadow)
- Cass is one of the few heroes in the DCU not taken over or killed by the vampires in this elseworlds story. Problematic art though for the main series sadly given the artist turned out to be very icky.
The writing is a mixed bag as well as Cass was a main character of the plot in the first half of the comic, before being dropped and randomly showing up in the latest issue.
One interesting tidbit of this version of Cass is that she moonlights as both Batgirl and Orphan (but only donning this identity with the Outsiders) in this universe.
Second interesting note is at the end of DC vs. Vampires #12, Cass is one of two people in the Bat-Family in #2 (the other being Alfred) to not have been killed or become a vampire.
Steph and Helena are also the only other Bat-Family members to have survived as well being human.
Young Justice
Tumblr media
Young Justice: Targets #2-3
- Expands on the Cass introduced in Young Justice cartoon by revealing she knows ASL (I wish this was introduced in the main series). She has a few kickass moments in the comic as well.
However, she only appears in these two issues and that’s it. Only recommended if you enjoyed this version of Cass, and desire to see her storyline somewhat continued.
Dark Multiverse
Tumblr media
Tales of the Dark Multiverse: Hush #1
Batman/Superman Authority Special #1
Dark Knights Death Metal: Robin King #1
In the “Dark Multiverse” there have been three variants of Cass that have appeared. The most “prominent” one among them is the one in Hush. Cass, Tim, and Barbara go down a darker path as they openly rebel against Thomas Elliot and his iron grip over Gotham with not Batman or Bruce Wayne to stop him.
Cass’s costume is a mixture of her Orphan and Kasumi costume. We never get much of her codename as she’s quickly killed by the Gray Son (Dick Grayson who’s been recruited by the Court of Owls). It is implied that this version of her and Tim had a relationship as his name is the last word she utters before collapsing dead.
We’re teased another evil Cass (along with the rest of the Bat-Family) who is part of the Empire of Shadows. Lead by Ra’s Al Ghul (Bruce Wayne) the Empire has taken over their respective Earth and learns of the multiverse. We see this version of Cass once near the end as her silhouette is quite clear in the shadows.
The final Dark Multiverse Cass is the one shown briefly in Dark Knights Death Metal Robin King #1. As the Batman Who Laughs gives Robin King a tour of an Earth where he “tortures” numerous Dark Multiverse Batmen and the survivors become his minions. One of those shown bears a strikingly resemblance to Cass, but the appearance has never been confirmed.
Injustice
Tumblr media
Injustice: Year Zero #2
Though not fully appearing, Cass is namedropped in the prequel story to Injustice comics. It isn’t really known what became of this version of the character. But from the dialogue suggested by Superman to Batman, Bruce/Barbara having mentored her presumably as Batgirl (Babs is Oracle at the start of Injustice).
Tumblr media
 Batman: Last Knight on Earth
Batman: Last Knight on Earth Book Three
Tumblr media
- Cassandra was originally one of the survivors of Omega’s original assault on the world. She (along with the rest of the Bat-Family) changed their personas to resemble Owls with Cass taking a more Talon-esque costume as shown here (they believed Omega had tainted the Bat mantle/symbol at this point).
We don’t know much else about this variant of Cass as she along with Tim Drake, Stephanie Brown, Jason Todd, and Kate Kate all perish by Omega’s hand right before a revived Bruce Wayne shows up.
But hey! Dick Grayson and Barbara Gordon survive.
.....
Tumblr media
Look I get it they live because they have a kid (who also lives). But it just feels so darn cheap to have the most of the “Bat Family” to die right before Bruce shows up.
It feels so wrong to me and just like a certain someone high up above this creative team had this wet dream to kill them all off to tick off fans. Well, congrats! It worked!
Dark Knights of Steel
Tumblr media
Dark Knights of Steel #6, 9
- No I didn’t forget this alternate Cass. It’s just that well.. we don’t know much fully about her yet save three things. #1 She’s the only Cass who was ever a Robin (a Robin in this universe are the “agents” who serve under Bruce Wayne (aka the Bat Knight) around this world. #2 She’s different then the rest of the Robins (as detailed in Dark Knights of Steel: Tales of the Three Kingdoms #1 they were all a crew of thieves until they caught the attention of Bruce but there was 0 Cass among them) in that we know next to nothing about her connection to Bruce here. #3 She’s placed in a position to free Prince Ka-El as she is the medical professional addressing his wounds but also keeping an eye on him.
Sure enough, she freed Ka-El to prevent the war between the three kingdoms.
Batman: Knightwatch
Tumblr media
Batman: Knightwatch #5
- This one just feels more like an Easter Egg than an actual reference. Though not with the Bat-Family, this Cass is just a normal little girl, who just happens to really like Batman and the Bat-Family. Probably the only normal Cass of them all. But the sass is still there with this one.
Harley Quinn: The Animated Series
Tumblr media
Harley Quinn & the Legion of Bats #4-6
- So far recently introduced only in the comics. This Cass is unique among other variants being she’s the same age as Damian. There’s not much know about her yet. Save we know Vixen/Batgirl (Barbara Gordon) were working on a case together that involved Cass.
She bonds with Damian, who in turn opens up being ACTUALLY friendly toward her. This Cass also makes friends with Tiffany Fox (who was targeted in the series by Black Mask).
Cass adopts her Orphan persona joining Dick, Damian, and Babs on a mission to stop Black Mask from taking over the Gotham Underworld while also having to deal with Poison Ivy and the Legion of Doom.
After Black Mask is defeated, Wonder Woman is called in to escort this Cass to Themyscira. This Cass is second to one other variant that is raised by the Amazons (the other being the Dark Knights of Steel version).

Batman Fic Recs Feat. Time Travel
My favorite time travel fics with the batfam. I’ll mention if there are any ships :)
-
The View From Jade by lowflyingfruit
“Being transported to the past is not the sort of thing one normally expects. But this having happened, and with no easy way back, Jason's determined to make the most of it. Though the Bat still stalks Gotham's streets, the city's crime is run by the mobs instead of the rogues. There's no Joker yet.
There's no Robin.
Maybe there shouldn't be.”
I love this one! It’s got a lot of interactions between young Dick and Jason and they’re just precious
-
Fairy Godbrother by envysparkler
“What are brothers for?
(Or: some minor dimensional travel, pseudo-kidnapping, and a whole lot of meddling.)”
(I think it’s technically dimensional travel because there are two separate timelines, but one of the dimensions is moving at a different pace so I’m counting it.) Great interactions between the batfam:)
-
The Rule Stands by Engineered
“‘I know what you’re going to say, Batman,’ Damian said, shrugging the hand off his shoulder. ‘You’re going to tell me that Nightwing is dead, and that people don’t come back from the dead. Well, clearly you are wrong, seeing that you were dead and I was dead and Red Hood was dead and even Superman was once dead-’
‘My parents are dead,’ Father interrupted. ‘Nightwing’s parents are dead. There have been a few notable exceptions in extenuating circumstances, Robin, but the rule stands. Everyone can die.’”
Damian and young Dick bond and Damian learns that his big brother wasn’t always the dependable hero he knew him as.
-
A Good Place by LemonadeGarden
“Damian Wayne is kidnapped and sent back years through time. Together, he and Father – who's only been Batman for a mere six months –must figure out how to return him to his own time.
Over the course of the next week, Damian discovers that Mexican gangsters do not mess around, that social workers find Bruce annoying, that Bruce might be a little messed up, and that crystal chandeliers create the fondest memories.
Oh. And Alfred has hair.”
Pre-children Bruce bonds with Damian, who is able to see how much becoming a father changed Bruce.
-
Two Dead Birds by InsaneTrollLogic
“There's some lunatic in a red helmet running through Jason's territory. He wants to think it's a copycat.
He's wrong.”
Jason Todd regretting his past decisions and trying to work with his family? Fuck yeah.
-
show me yesterday, for i can’t find today by indent
“Then: The year is 2013. Jason Todd is alive, fourteen years old, and about to follow Sheila Haywood, his birth mother, into the hands of the Joker. All he wants is to save her life.
Now: The year is 2018. Jason Todd was dead. But now he's a nineteen year old vigilante about to take down the latest C-Lister rogue. Unfortunately for him, its a rogue that specialises in time-travel technology. And what starts as an easy takedown...ends as a time travelling phenomenon.
The two Jasons swap places.”
A reconciliation fic with *jazz hands* time travel!!
-
Take It Back Now Y’all by TimTheToaster (tabletoptime)
“There was absolutely no way this sunshine was from Gotham in April.
Not possible.
Which meant, Tim was no longer in Gotham, in April.
(In which Tim finds himself in the past, and tries to do the right thing. It's more complicated than he'd like.)”
Incomplete
Tim goes back to Dick’s Robin days and fixes shit
-
What Would You Do (To Save a Life) by 12pt_timesnewromanfont
“Here lies Timothy Drake
He lived so others wouldn’t die.
He died so others would live.
Damian scowls at the smooth stone, at the carefully etched epitaph.
He can’t help the fury building inside, rising up and clawing at his insides.”
Major TW for suicide
Tim’s evil future self comes back in time. Really well written.
-
Displaced by CamsthiSky
"Bruce’s vision wavers, and only once he steadies himself does he look up to find—Dick. But not Dick. Because Dick is eleven years old, and this man is clearly only a few years younger than Bruce himself is. If that. But no. Bruce would know those bright blue eyes anywhere. This is Dick. This is his son."
Bruce, who recently adopted Dick Grayson, is switched w his older self… younger Bruce meeting all of his kids again does special things to my sad little heart
-
Mint Chocolate Chip by LemonadeGarden
“Summer vacations have been going on just long enough for Jason to start getting bored, when he gets an unexpected visitor.
From the future.”
The amount of fluff in here… insane. I love it
-
Days of Future Past by Speechless_since_1998
“‘Why are you doing this?’
Red Robin looked at him from above the Riddler, ‘What?’
‘Help us. You don't want to be here. We could help you get back to your time.’
‘No. I have to be here. One week to go.’
‘A week for what?’ he asked, in frustration.
‘You told us you're here to avoid the worst moment in Batman's life, the one that will almost drive him crazy and shit like that. You didn't tell us what it will be, though.’
‘You don't need to know.’
Jason snorted, ‘Don't need to know? We're talking about what will turn Batman from a semi-decent parenting figure into a total bastard. Of course, it is necessary.’
‘For your good, you better not know.’"
Kind of angsty, but really good. Tim goes back to save Jason.

Heres someangst for you to make worse (or better lol)
DeadSerious Soulmate au where Danny came to the batfam for advise from the flock of detectives. He wanted to know how to deal with the situation with Vlad, the GIW and the Fentons without having to kill them or Vlad outing his secret identity or whatever.
Robin discovers that Phantom is his soulmate and being 10 and brought up as an assassin he does exactly what he was taught to do.
Damian returns two days later to a frantic batfamily and worried ghost and proudly declares all the problems neutralized.
Danny freaks and tells him "Say sike right now"
Danny drops his magical girl transformation and becomes human again, freaks out on Damian who looks like he sucked on a lemon because "Oh no I murdered my soulmates parents didn't I??"
Ok ok sooooooo.,
Danny rejects Damian after learning that Damian killed his parents and the people he wanted gone but not dead.
And is distrustful, hateful and a bit scared of his soulmate that killed his parents and is also a, y’know, killer.
Damian, being freshly pulled from the league, doesn’t like that Danny rejected him and says something like “you my soulmate you just reject me!” or something.
To which Danny says “Oh I the fuck will!” and shouts that Damian killed his parents for no fucking reason, and Damian says that it was the most efficient way, which has Danny straight dumbfounded for a few good seconds.
Then he explodes. Shouting that “You killed my parents because it's the most ‘efficient’ way!?”. Damian obviously says yes, and then Danny goes and says that the reason he even came to ask Batman for help is because he never wanted to kill them.
So no, the method Damian used wasn’t efficient at all. Which makes Damian mad, because this would mean he failed a mission(even though it wasn’t one in the first place).
Now this is the part where the rest of the Batfam step in, seeing how the situation obviously wouldn’t de-escalate on its own and instead just get worse. So now after they separate the two, one of the batfam(I dunno you choose) explains what Damian’s situation is and how he’s learning. To which, yea Danny can be sympathetic to that but Damian still murdered his parents.
To which batfam member is like, give him some time to adjust or something. But Danny is not having it, yea he can get why Damian did what he did, but that doesn’t excuse that he did it when he specifically came to the bats for a solution where no one dies.
So then they promise Damian would get punished(How it happens is up to you). So now Danny lives with the Batfam until he can find somewhere else to live(Even though the rest of the Batfam try to make him apart of the family) while doing his best to avoid Damian and when he can’t, he just ignores him -much to Damian’s chagrin-.
So after a few weeks of living with the Waynes (and ignoring Damian). There is one day when Damian was nowhere to be found (not that Danny was complaining). So Danny is just going about his business and enjoying not seeing Damian anywhere really and is trying to find Tim.(because he and Tim are coffee besties and there’s nothing you can say to change my mind)
So then he just realises that. If you want to find Tim, most of the time he’s probably in the Batcave. So he goes down since he knows it’s there and all, and sees the one person he really didn’t want to see that day. Damian is there talking to Tim while Tim works on…something. Even with Danny’s better than human eyesight, he can’t see much past a silhouette of what Tim is working on.
So Danny walks closer, catching the attention of both vigilantes (although one he is actively ignoring). While getting closer Danny can slowly see what Tim is working on taking apart, and what he sees causes him to freeze.
Because what Tim is taking apart.
Is one of his parent’s ghost inventions.
Before either vigilantes can greet him. Danny bolts over to where Tim is sitting and overlooking the machine, hastily takes it from Tim to check over if it really is one of his parent’s inventions, slowly places it down, turns to look at Tim while trying to contain the anger inside him and asks “Where did you get this?”
Tim, an empath: I feel like Danny is angry, and it would be a real not so brotherly move to throw Damian under the bus.
Also Tim: Damian gave it to me to look over.
Danny turns to look at Damian, and Damian, not understanding emotions and finally seeing that his Soulmate is acknowledging his presence. Say’s something like, “they weren’t using it” or “It would be put to better use in our hands”. (Or something else you can pick I guess)
And that. That caused Danny to almost drop his human form right then and there, but Danny catches himself before it can drop. Danny looks at Damian while giving him the most deadpan look he can, but his voice betrays the cold anger that he feels.
“I wish someone like you was never my soulmate”
Both Damian and Tim are shocked, and before either can do or say anything. Danny turns ghost and leaves Wayne manor.

Tim Drake: Status: Missing
Bruce had been ‘dead’ for over a year by the time he came back. The instant he knew where he was, he ran home to Gotham city, wanting, no, needing to see his family. From what he had learned on the plane back to Gotham, there was a new Batman in town and a Robin that must have been Damian. Red Hood was in Arkham for murder charges, there was a new Batgirl who he guessed to be Stephanie and a new vigilante name in town. A woman going around as ‘Black Bat.’ The detailing on the costume pointed towards it being Cassandra. On the other hand, Tim was nowhere to be found. No vigilantes in town or around the world that could have been him. Tim Drake had been reported missing four months before Bruce’s return.
When Bruce tried the front door, he found that the codes had been changed. He resorted to simply knocking. Alfred opened the door and audibly gasped.
“Master Bruce? Is it really you?”
“Last time I checked, it is.” Bruce smiled at his father figure before asking, “Where are the kids?”
“Masters Richard and Damian are in the cave. Master Cassandra is in her bedroom with Master Stephanie.” Alfred paused for a moment, “The codes to enter the cave changed. It’s now 2:37.”
Bruce ran to the entrance to the batcave, inputting the new code and going down the stairs three at a time. He found Dick sitting in front of the batcomputer, reporting the previous night. Damian was looking over Dick’s shoulder, adding details. Bruce cleared his throat. Dick looked back.
“Hey Hush, what's up?”
“Hush?”
“If you’re not Hush- B, is that you?”
“Yep.” Dick leapt up and pulled Bruce into a tight hug.
“I thought I lost you too,” Dick said into Bruce’s chest.
“When did Damian become Robin? Where’s Tim?”
“Oh, um, you might want to sit-”
“Drake has lost his mind.” Damian answered, arms crossed.
“What?”
“Like I was saying, you might want to sit down for this.” Dick led Bruce to a bench and sat him down. “It was a few months ago-” An alarm went off. “This can wait, we need to handle that.”
Dick got up and picked up the Batman suit. Bruce held up a hand and took the suit. Dick seemed unsure and went to put on the NightWing suit. Damian had already been in his Robin suit. They climbed into the Batmobile with Dick navigating.
They pulled up on Wayne Industries. Dick took a look at the scene and breathed a small “Oh no.” The Joker, or at least someone who looked like The Joker, was comfortably gripping onto a line that had been let down from a helicopter. Bruce glanced over at Dick, who had a look of utter horror and pain on his face. Damian was scowling.
“Hello, Gotham! I am here to gratefully inform you all that my father, The Joker, is dead. And I’m his replacement. Not the first time I’ve been a Replacement, but this will be the biggest part I’ve had to play.” A crazed grin was smeared across his face, going ear to ear. The scars on the boy's cheeks made the phrase literal. “I’m Joker Jr, but you can all just call me Joker now that the old man is dead! You may be wondering how he died, and well that's on me. Shot him right in the head! Bullet between the eyes!”
“Since when has the Joker had a kid?” Bruce asked.
Tears were running down Dick’s face despite the small smile on his face, “Since 5 months ago. I’m sorry Bruce, but that’s Tim.”

I see Damian ask and return from the shadows to drop more random knowledge I spent way too much time looking at with the batfam. Damian (originally) only respect people who earn it in some form regardless of gender (See Black Bat aka Cassandra Cain who is also jokingly considered the strongest batfam member. Though that's also like, 98% canon.) flip side is equal disdain. As for the head of the demon and League of Assassins if I remember right when Damian was introduced Ra was already dead so Talia *was* leading them. A plot line had Ra come back and he wanted to use Damian's body if I remember right to be stabilized (or just... take it over. Similar to the Batman Beyond plot where he took over Talia's body) Otherwise considering Ra basically keeps finding a new way to pull immortality and all the inheritance is shaky at best. Since he's usual wanted Batman to take over, and in a few comics has implied Tim wouldn't exactly be a bad choice either.
Oh yeah inheritance of the guy who keeps pulling immortality out of his ass is shaky at best.
But I can roll with Damian's mindset being that someone has to earn respect in some kind of way. Initally he'd believe it's like, through deadly combat because ofc League of Assassins, but I could see him getting character development to understand that no not everyone is gonna be a badass assassin so he learns to respect people in other ways but they still have to earn it.
Side note since we're spelunking the wiki on Damian:
I've.... heard about four-ish different versions of how he was *ahem* 'made'. Is this something that differs between different canon continuity or something that was left up to interpretation and people just roll with headcanoning?

I've not been vibing with my wizard Medi-Insert for a while now, so I've tossed out that whole thing and replaced it with knight gallant to a evil sorcerer. God forgive me.
Tumblr media
Zarok was deeply annoyed when he learned that the king had decided to knight yet another himbo who was barely competent at exactly one thing remotely related to knighthood. The bitterness lasted for exactly as long as it took for him to discover that Sir Rowan Methven, while very bad at things like combat and strategy, was willing to go at least halfway to the ends of the earth for any citizen who asked nicely for a favour, and included the court sorcerer in that.
At first he sent Rowan out to gather herbs when he couldn't be bothered to go out, then began asking for more and more eclectic magical items. Zarok only had to smile and maybe bat his eyelashes, and this pretty little idiot would cheerfully wander through the gates of hell humming a tune. And if he liked seeing Rowan returning dishevelled, exhausted, and triumphant, then what of it? He was fun to bicker and flirt with, far more than that braggart captain.
And if Sir Rowan were to get injured on a quest, well it was only fair for Zarok to tend to him when he returned. It was perfectly normal for men who respected and valued one another as they did to share a bed on occasion, especially with how Zarok felt the cold in winter.
There wasn't any grand moment when the nature of their relationship changed, it just steadily became understood that Zarok and Rowan came as a paired set, the same as Dan and Tim. Even before their official enbrotherment, Sir Rowan fought (badly) in every tournament wearing a token of Lord Zarok's favour.
There was one moment when it all came crashing down. When asked to source some corpses that wouldn't be missed, Rowan presumed that the king obviously knew and it wasn't like the dead were using their bodies any more. And so when the walking dead were found and routed from Castle Peregrin, two traitors were banished for the crime.
When the inevitable battle came, Rowan broke even more. He had pledged himself to Zarok and to Gallowmere, and there was no choice he could make that didn't break one of his vows. Maybe he did choose a side to fight and die for. Maybe he took his own life. All he knows is that he awoke from death to see the face of his beloved. It didn't matter after that how his humanity fell away along with rotted flesh. He was his lord's and would be until final death. He had no choice but to love his master.

My God I’m So Lonely
Batfam x batsis!reader
Part 1 , Part 2, Part 3
Alfred and Jason had known of your whereabouts being the only two members of the family who were attentive to you, both had visited you at university helping you move into the dorms. Four months had past since you left changing phone numbers in the process and going by your mother’s maiden name on all documents, of course even the world’s greatest detectives did not think of that one. The university life was peaceful you attended the lectures, went out on weekends with a new group of friends, and after adjusting to the schedule getting a job at a coffee shop with your roommates.
There was nights where naturally the thought of what your family was doing came to mind if they were still looking for you and how they reacted. Neither Jason nor Alfred had the heart to tell you how the disappearance affected the family, it was the first time they thought you were happy with life and where you got yourself. All the hard work and countless nights alone made it where schoolwork was an enjoyable distraction, back in highschool pushing yourself into countless clubs just to not have to return to the empty manor. Back then you were just “Bruce Wayne’s kid”, now you were just y/n and your accomplishments were your own. At galas people would say something along the lines of ,”y/n must have got it from their father, he’s hard working.” Never was all the hard work you put in yourself without help from any of them talked about.
When they realized you were gone
Dick: Dick was angry not at Bruce or anyone else, but himself. The same reason he left originally was to become his own person away from Batman, now you had done the same to get away from the Wayne legacy. He had been there before in his own way and was disappointed that throughout all the times he visited which was not much but in his mind it was, he never noticed. The other thing was Damian, how could Dick break the news to him? “He wouldn’t understand” He thought to himself. There was the times Dick would take you to the roof of his building and the two of you would bond over the overwhelming feeling of when you both first moved into the manor. Now he lost another sibling.
Jason: He couldn’t bother to be honest about your whereabouts. Jason quite enjoyed everyone running around at first losing their minds. He wanted them to regret all they had done, they did more than that. Plus he along with Alfred had been seeing you, it’s was ending the fourth month you had been gone. He figured after the fifth it would be a lesson learned, you all would be laughing having dinner in the manor. So next time he visits he would tell you the plan.
Tim: Sometimes Tim wished you were dead, now he knew it sounded horrible and was an inhumane thing to even think about. You being dead would be better then the dead end search that was being made to figure out what happened. All the nights he didn’t sleep, while the two of you may not have been the closest he still cared for you. There was a period of time he had to step away from the titans in order to sort through his emotions. The team was very supportive throughout the whole thing, even offering to help find you.
Damian: At first he believed that you would just be gone for a few days and kept insisting that you would return, “l/n will be back later.” While he had came a long way with his attitude there was still room for improvement. It wasn’t until a month had passed of everyone around him more restless then usual and no word from you he went to confront Bruce. “Father l/n needs to come home, it’s been a month since the night of their graduation.” He stated with his usual attitude lacing his tone. Bruce thought to himself about that night as the other members in the bat cave looked at the young boy with grim faces.
That night...
There had been a league mission and truth be told Bruce did not know it was your graduation, for that he knew he was a terrible father and made a huge mistake. Leaving the cave harsh footsteps sprinting up the stairs, opening your door. “Y/n-“ Empty, your empty room was the sight that greeted him. Bare with nothing but the original furnishings, no one realized that you had been taking stuff out in small amounts at a time leaving it in a storage unit. “Y/N!” He tried again almost as if saying your name would make you magically appear out of thin air. By now Dick and Tim had heard the shouting and came upstairs, “Why you yelling your going to wake-“, Tim started as he was nearing your door. “Y/N?” Dick watched the exchange with a painfully brewing feeling in his chest. Dick explained to Damian how you just got an apartment and would be back to visit soon not being able to think about how the truth would affect him.
a/n: long awaited part 2 this is a bit bad i am on vacation at the moment and started writing this a week ago and at the very end did not like it as much

Forgive Yourself | Bruce Wayne
Tumblr media
This is the most attractive version of Bruce Wayne and I will absolutely die on this hill. This idea has been stuck in my head as I've been wanting to introduce my own Bat!Mom and this happened. Featuring the one thing people don't write about: Bruce's struggle with grieving Jason, and maybe Jason coming back as a part 2?
also I don't know how long after that Tim comes around but for sake of sake let's just say he's not around in this one
Tag: @darth-vaders-bitch
***
The scene replays on the back of his eyelids like a movie he simply can't shut off. Jason is there, Jason is dead, Jason is gone and The Joker is laughing and Bruce simply cannot make it stop.
They tell him over and over and over again that it's never easy to lose a child. That part of you goes with them only to never return. That's true. What they don't tell you is how that loss burns and well... you'll never truly be over it.
Grief never gets easier. It's just better to go through it with someone then to do it alone.
That's where you come in.
Jason Peter Todd was one of the sweetest boys you'd ever met. Now granted, he was the second one and much more difficult then Dick, but he'd had your heart from that first moment that you and Bruce had caught him trying to steal the tires off of the Batmobile.
It was endearing, how he'd looked at you. Jason had had so much more difficulty trying to form a bond with Bruce, but not with you. There was just something about your nature and the way you never flinched when he got angry or upset or cruel in his words - because how else was a kid raised in the dark and cold of Crime Alley going to survive? - that made him gravitate more to you then the man you loved.
And oh, did that make Bruce hurt. You could see it in the imperceptible twitch of his brow and the slight crease of his lips when one of the boys fought with him. It was rare for them to fight with you.
"Am I really that bad of a father?"
You had shushed him by slowly grazing your thumb over his lips, back and forth, a low fire burning in his eyes as he met your gaze. There was so much there that his sons didn't see. Couldn't see. ''You're not a bad father, Bruce." You murmured. "You're just someone learning about what you really didn't have.''
And well, Bruce couldn't stop repeating those words in his head as he looked at the photo of him and Jason on the Bat Computer. One of many in this folder. He'd gotten the best seats in the stadium for a baseball game that had taken place outside of Gotham, which Jason had loved because he'd never been out of Gotham until that point, and with him being Bruce Wayne it meant he could pull enough strings for Jason to meet his favorite player.
His smile is blinding. Happy. It's one of the very few times Bruce can remember seeing him so happy.
That's how he wants to remember Jason. Not how he'd found him, not how often he screamed and raged because he was just.. so angry. But like this. Like the little boy he'd called Jaylad and had not told him he loved him nearly enough.
His greatest regret.
"Bruce."
And there stood his greatest triumph, allowing himself to be human enough to realize he'd fallen in love with you. Oh... you. Wonderful, fierce, soft and warm and safe you. You were the only person besides Alfred who had encouraged him to be human. To let himself feel things and remind himself it was okay to be angry.
You had struggled with that yourself when you'd been excommunicated from the League. You refused to be reduced to a quivering mess for fear of retaliation from the Ghūl's or your identity being released.
It was a new life, and you made something of yourself. Bruce had been able to tell how angry you were. How resentful of your circumstances despite how well you'd become.
So you'd taught him it was okay to be angry. And it was okay to feel the way he did, but it shouldn't rule him. You allowing yourself to be open to love - specifically to and from the boys who became your sons - and it had changed your world.
That, despite the loss of his parents, Bruce was still allowed to be loved. He couldn't have prevented what happened or changed it. He couldn't have stopped it. His parents would have wanted him to move on. To get help when he finally accepted he needed it, to allow himself to be happy.
So that was what he did with you. He allowed himself to smile and laugh when you went on dates in and were not ashamed of being together despite disliking large crowds. Of being with him. You would hold his hand and gaze up at him with this look of adoration that could make even Bruce Wayne blush. The way you danced around the kitchen and regarded Alfred as a father. The way you just were. You didn't expect pageantry or being lavished with gifts. You just wanted him and to be a part of his life, his home, his heart.
He allowed himself to fall even deeper in love with you when he watched how good you were with his sons. All the times you'd let Dick crawl into your arms and listen to your stories and all of the times you'd sit with Jason in the quietness of the morning hours before school to help him ease his anxiety or those times at night where he wanted to be read to, or help with his homework.
Those few moments Bruce had watched from afar, dressed in that stupid cream cashmere sweater you loved, and watched his sons grow up with their mother.
He usually prides himself on his ability to remain so composed in the face of everything that thrives on tearing him apart. All the things that should make him buckle just.. don't. Jason had hated that. What comes next makes him crumble.
It's just the simple touch of your hands on his skin. The way your palms are not marred and calloused as his own are and how they drag down the knots in his neck that have made themself at home from how tense he's been.
The way you lean over the chair and smooth your fingers through dark hair, lips brushing against his temple as you do. "Come to bed." You whisper. "Let that be enough for tonight."
Jason's smile is burned onto his eyes. It's cruel, really, that this is the one thing his brain cannot let go of. He can't let go of the feeling of his son's body in his arms or how he had not told him he loved him enough and especially the sound of your scream when you'd found out.
It was a wonder that you were holding yourself together so well.
"We..." He clenches his hands so tightly that his fingernails begin to leave crescents in the skin of his hands. It's meant to anchor him. Pain helps him realize he's alive. That he's still capable of feeling things. "Beloved, we lost our son."
Bruce allows his head to fall just out of sight then, the sound of a broken whimper catching in the back of his throat as you swallow the knot in your own and move to kneel in front of him. It's entirely too cold now that he's made that feel real. Too cold, too quiet. It doesn't feel good in here anymore.
Because what good can you two do if you can't keep your sons safe? Isn't that the whole point of this? To keep the people you love safe? He's Batman, you're a freaking League Assassin trained by Talia herself-
Bruce is pulling you into his lap before you can properly settle yourself there, lunging forward to wrap his arms around your waist and yank you forward until he can hide his face in your chest. "We did." You whisper. If you talk any louder, your voice will break. You cannot break right now. "We lost our son."
And the way those words coming from your mouth just breaks Bruce makes your heart twist in such a painful way. Your chest hurts with the force of it as he allows himself that one moment - in which said moment feels like years - to weep over Jason. He hadn't even allowed himself to do that when you, Alfred, Bruce and Dick had gathered in the same cemetery where his mother was buried to have a funeral.
Bruce allows himself to be held then. With the gentleness of your voice in his ear and the warmth that cancels out the cold of the cave, he allows himself that rare opportunity to just... let go.
And letting go is so, so hard.
I can't let go of my son.
You wish you could tell Jason that his father mourned him like this. Jason had always told you in secret and made you swear not to tell that he thought Bruce didn't care about him. You always told him that he was wrong though. That Bruce just loved people in ways they didn't quite know how to interpret. That they would never understand.
"Then why doesn't he tell me he loves me like you do?"
Jason had been too young to get it. He'd been too young to know where you'd come from in the League, and you were terrified to tell him for fear of how he'd look at you. But Jason would've gotten it far more then DIck would've.
You prayed and prayed and prayed that he'd known he was loved by someone when he left you both. If not, that would be your biggest regret as a mother. Not loving your son enough.
It feels like hours later when you realize Bruce is lax against your body, hands skimming underneath your faded black teeshirt to feel your skin beneath his palms. Touch grounded him. Always had. You shiver softly at the contrast of temperature between the cave and him as you cradle his face in your hands and tilt it upward to look at you.
Your thumbs prick against the newly grown stubble on his jawline. "Bruce," You whisper. Blue eyes pierce your own as you lean inward, just a hairs breadth away from his mouth, when you continue. "I love you."
And then you kiss him. It's long and slow, Bruce's body slowly being pressed against the top of the chair as you move closer and closer and closer until all you can feel is the frantic pounding of his heart and taste his tears on your tongue. Bruce is nothing if not a messy lover, and he kisses the same way he fights. All finesse and fire.
You can feel that he wants to lose himself in you, and that's what prompts you to pull away. You would usually let him but tonight you have a bit of a different idea in mind.
"Come upstairs with me. Dick is asleep, Alfred is asleep. It's just us."
Soft, wide eyes follow your form as you rise to your feet and extend your hand. Together the two of you leave the Cave and traverse the stairs up into the Manor until you're back in the master bedroom, and the lock clicks behind you. It's the signal that you're really alone.
Laughter bubbles past your lips as Bruce's fingers curl around your hips and pull you backwards into his embrace. He is trying so hard to distract you, but you won't let him give into his desire. Not when you are dead set on making him realize the most crucial thing in the midst of the loss of your son.
"Beloved-"
"Sweater off, Mister. Lay down. I want to try something."
He's not someone to usually be nervous. Bruce is more then aware he is a desirable person. It's what all of the tabloids in Gotham love to rant and rave about. They don't know about the underneath. About the scars he'd obtained from keeping Gotham safe, about the suffering he'd been through. About how he viewed himself.
What Bruce has always wanted, however, is devotion.
So he's always a bit timid when it comes to vulnerability. He removes his sweater and curses himself for being so ridiculous but his legs will not move the three feet it takes to get to the bed.
You're being ridiculous. This is your wife. She married you for you.
You press a bare hand to the dip in his chest and usher him backward until he's laying on the bed and you have the ability to crawl over him and kiss him. He groans softly and moves to touch you because he simply cannot get enough, but you don't let him. You pull away to peer into his eyes with this soft expression that makes the tips of his ears pink.
Ridiculous. He is Batman. Batman should not be reduced to a blushing schoolboy because of his wife who didn't used to be so soft-
"Did I ever tell you why I fell in love with you, Bruce?"
"I don't know." He replies honestly. "Is it because of my devilish charm and my equally adorable son?"
"Oh no." Bruce's breath catches in his chest as you graze your fingertips across a rather large, ridged scar that stretches across his breastbone. And then your mouth is trailing kisses across it and the feeling is... overwhelming. But not in a bad way. "It wasn't all the things those models you dated over the years saw. Not the money or the expensive gifts or the freaking huge house-" You laugh softly and shake your head. "Oh no, it wasn't Billionaire Bruce or Batman I saw. It was just you. Just a man."
"Is that all I am?"
"You're a man who wants one thing and one thing only." You are more than aware that Bruce could overpower you if he wanted to when you catch both of his hands in your own and link your fingers with his. Blue eyes catch yours just before you dip your head to whisper into the scarred plains of his chest. "You're just someone," Lips trail across his skin as you venture. You want to learn every story behind every single one of them. "Who wants a home for his aching heart."
And wow.. wow is it true.
"Beloved, I-" It's too overwhelming. It's too much intimacy for one night, something Bruce is still learning to take in small doses because no one has ever loved him like this before. It's interesting... given that you'd grown up as a League Assassin. You hadn't known it either. Not really. But you'd made an effort to embrace it for Dick and Jason and it had changed both of you. "I just..."
Jason's laughter echoes in his ears as you lift your head to meet his eyes. Bruce's eyes are glassy with tears, as are your own. Your thumbs come to press just beneath his eyes before you're swiping them away. His cheeks are wet. It's not your fault. It's Jason's memory haunting him no matter what he does. His laughter, his rare smile, the way you loved him and the way you mourned him...
It's just too overwhelming.
"Bruce," You murmur. Your tone is laced with empathy because you'd had this happen to you in the League too. It's why you were initially hesitant to love Dick and Jason but it had just happened. You couldn't help yourself. "We have to forgive ourselves for our mistakes. You did not fail Jason. Just like I didn't fail the little boy who didn't make it in the League."
You have to forgive yourself.
You roll off of Bruce's chest and settle against his side as he envelops your waist with his arm. To your surprise, however, he then tugs you back on top of him and tucks your head under his chin. He's warmth and security and just... everything. He's everything.
And if you could help it, no pain would ever come to him again.
That's how the Batman falls asleep that night. Not to be disturbed by his nightmares, but with you wrapped around him.
Gently bound in his embrace, tucked away in your home from the cruelty of Gotham outside his window.
Safe.

Reverse!Batkids could be fun if it's made with the characters in mind
This post made me think a lot about REVERSE!Batkids a lot and how the characterization could be backwards and I feel like no one really gets how closer to GoodDad!Bruce it could be. Like it's focused on the Robins, yeah, but it should also revolve around Bruce's reverse characterization from canon (from angry man to caring father).
Like imagine: Damian is the first Robin (or not Robin as it's Dick's nickname) and he's still an assassin trained child-turned-vigilante. This world would show him how awful it is to be Batman and disillusions him from being 'son of the Bat' early on. He takes one look at Bruce's methods, brutal, efficient, cold and it reminds him of the league of assassins.
He didn't think he would upgrade when he came into Gotham, but at least in the LOA he fought opponents who were trained and not homeless men who stole $20 for dinner.
Damian follows the same path as Dick did, warring with his emotions and torn between continuing the legacy but also fighting to be his own person. He eventually leaves because Bruce failed at everything except sending him to the Teen Titans to socialize. Damian socialized and saw the world for its beauty, for the good that came outside of the LOA's brutality and Batman's recurring cynical nature.
Tim would come along when he sees Bruce is lost without Damian and offers to be Robin. Bruce doesn't accept at first (because the kid's not even his), but does so when Damian makes it clear he's close to disowning him until Bruce cuts out the savagery.
Damian hates Tim because how could he try to be a hero without training? Damian is league trained and the streets are still dangerous for him. A snot nosed rich kid would only get himself killed. The Joker sets a trap in Gotham. Damian tells Tim he can't confront the villain because he's not good enough (especially if he thinks Batman is doing good for the city) and Batman needed to gather more information on what Joker is trying to do. Tim tries to join them anyways.
This eventually does get Tim killed, not-killed, and dumped into a Lazarus pit because the LoA didn't see Tim as a leverage on Batman (Bruce didn't seem like he cares enough), but because Tim's mind can be an asset against Damian. Red Hood appears in Gotham, pit-mad, and systematically undoes the vigilante's influence by triggering gang wars and bribing cops. He doesn't do this to drive Batman into a confrontation (Tim doesn't care about another parent that didn't care for him), he does this to destroy the goodness Damian was looking for.
Robin 2's death would send Bruce to the opposite spiral, being more open with his emotions and learning how to be a father through Jason. He didn't know how to handle Tim and it drove him to his death, the next kid should know how valued he is to the family. It's not always perfect, but Jason makes him laugh when he doesn't think he could laugh again.
Jason absolutely is the reason Damian returns, not Bruce and if someone mentions it again he's still got that LOA knife in his pocket-
Damian does not become the older brother to him Dick had been in canon- but he ensures Jason is equipped with the best training to avoid another dead Robin. Jason laps it all up because 'wow someone's actually teaching me to fight good'. If Damian was less harsh in his teachings, well, it's just about time Damian accepted that you can't stop children taking to the streets so might as well equip them like how he failed to do so with Tim.
Red Hood!Tim would never develop the same morality as Jason because he didn't live as a street kid (outright murder would still be wrong for him), but he'd be hell bent on making sure he's everyone's problem by working with the system, the gangs, the corruption, the criminal underworld if in the end he gets what he wanted. But Tim would find nothing wrong if someone dies because the Riddler's latest bomb was set in someone's apartment. If it ruffles Damian's feathers then you bet Tim would release the Riddler due to a court ruling loophole.
In another world, a replacement Robin would fuel Jason's rage. In this one, Tim turns his anger into himself. When Jason gets adopted, Tim doesn't blink an eye. When Damian is shown on the tabloids picking Jason up from Judo practice, Tim nearly kills himself in rage. Instead, he goes and pesters the Teen Titans by breaching their security over and over again and sending Lex Luthor back doors to their systems.
Jason is still passionate about Crime Alley and hates that Tim does not care about the people he hurts and this is the major reason why Tim almost slits Jason's throat when Robin confronts Red hood.
Jason is still an emotional person. He gets over the hesitation and wariness about his adoption and thrives in the family. He understands Bruce's and Damian's guilt over not saving Tim. Bruce admits his faults. Damian admits to his attitude. Jason is overwhelmed by their (his family's) emotions enough that his bullheadedness shows.
So Jason tries to bring Tim home through various traps (telling the prostitutes down Lincoln ave about an upcoming gang was easy, the warehouse confrontation with Red Hood wasn't). It takes a year before Tim sets foot in the manor, but only for Alfred's cooking I swear to God Jason if Damian is here I'm setting the Brain on his friends-
He stays because Bruce cards his fingers through his hair and apparently it feels nice?
Dick comes along, a little boy who's got a bone to pick with Zucco. He's not rainbows and sunshine- he's a traumatized little kid who wants to kill a man and the motive to do so. Bruce loves him anyways, openly, as much as he can, but still trying.
Damian smiles at him, remembering his own childhood, and finally becomes a big brother. Dick comes into a family, a dad who's vocal about his love for his kids, an eldest brother who's love is shown through his hesitance to stab you, another older brother who has C4 strapped under everyone's bed as a safety net, another brother who will sit on you while he reads but will punch the bully if he finds them bullying you-
But Bruce still doesn't know how to stop him from donning red, green and yellows and taking to the streets.

I have been reading fics where Tim got trapped somewhere for years but to him, only a few days passed. Now, I'm going feral over the thought of the Batfamily infantilize Tim. Even Damian treats him like a child when just a few days ago to Tim, Damian was still this snotty little brat that was shorter and younger than him.
They don't let Tim back to the streets citing absurd "facts" that his body needs to rest after the strain on him. They homeschool him since they can't really make Tim show up alive without raising questions. The topics however, have been taught to Tim two grades prior but the bats still insist he learns. He's even rarely allowed outside of the Manor without supervision. He's also required to hold his brothers' or father's hand when they take tim outside. Damian and Bruce, in fact, enjoys carrying Tim like a baby when they're outside.

!!!! i LOVE time dilation its so good and definitly not a trope i see often which is a shame because its just SOO GOOD!!!! i even wrote a brutim thread fic about it here !!
a really good fic about it is this!!! i LOVED how it was done where you really see the toll tim's absence had on everyone but i really loved how bruce and tim's relationship was in it. because bruce had basically alienated everyone, he'd presumably driven away jason and damian and he'd gotten pretty violent and antagonistic to everyone. tim was basically the ONLY person who wanted him back and missed him. and I LOVE how the fic is written where everything that occurred while tim is gone is implied and how you can basically start building the picture with how well tim knows bruce and how he knows how bruce may have reacted to losing him. this is one of those incredibly rare fics where bruce is kind of a bad to everyone EXCEPT tim.
tim being younger and smaller than the rest of the family PLUS their own trauma from thinking he was dead or they lost him forever would for sure screw their brains up a little when he returned. they'd try to keep him caged and close because they've already lost him once and they don't want to lose him again. they treat him like a toddler, a baby. they infantilize him and strip away all that gross dangerous autonomy which was the cause of them losing him for so many years in the first place!!!
