Levi’s POV
Levi and Erwin sat in silence on their drive home. The blinker would occasionally fill the car with a strong click. Levi counted the lit up rooms in the passing apartments. Five, Six, Seven… He wanted to keep his mind off of you, the way your hair framed your face, your hand caressing the mug, the way you pressed your lips together when you listened someone speak.
“So, how long have you known (Y/N)?” Erwin asked as if he knew Levi was thinking about you.
“A couple of months,” he responded.
“Do you like her?” Erwin prodded.
“She’s nice,” Levi said.
Erwin nodded, he knew better than to ask further.
This was how their conversions normally went, Erwin would begin with a blunt statement and Levi would respond in a short manner. From an outsider’s perspective, it might have seemed like the two men weren’t friends but this dynamic worked for them. Erwin was straightforward with what he wanted and Levi didn’t like talking about personal subjects, even with one of his closest friends.
When they arrived to their shared apartment, they said their goodnights and went into their rooms. Erwin had to be up early tomorrow for a debate meeting and Levi wanted to be alone. After they moved out of the dorms they decided to keep living together because it was the most cost effective option and plus Levi liked that Erwin was as neat as him, almost as neat. They lived in an old, walk-up apartment ten minutes away from Wall Rose University in a quiet neighborhood. They’ve been living there for three years now and had no plans to move out anytime soon.
Levi opened the window slightly to let the cool air in, raindrops fell from the gutter and filled the dark bedroom with gentle taps.. He laid down on the bed and breathed in the smell of the city and old books in his room. He closed his eyes and let his body melt into the bedsheets, he used the same lavender fabric softener his mom loved. Mmm, I should give her a call tomorrow, he thought. He felt his thoughts bounce around in his head but he was too tired to unravel them. Levi focused on his breathing and eventually his thoughts subdued into lenient bystanders.
There was silence around him when suddenly, you popped up in his thoughts. Levi let out a small sigh. Fuck, what are the odds of her knowing Hange. Hange of all people,the one person who doesn’t know how to shut up, Levi thought. Frustration began to fill his chest. He wanted you to meet his friends and he wanted to know more about you but he didn’t want it to happen like this. Levi wanted to do it right with you. He knew wasn’t the most charismatic or hospitable person and romance wasn’t his forte. Romance, Levi thought and chuckled. He remembered Erwin’s earlier question. Do I like her?
He sat up and pinched the bridge of his nose with his index and forefinger. He didn’t have a ton of experience with romance. His only relationship with Petra ended in a disaster, she broke up with him after feeling neglected for months. That was never Levi’s intent, he loved her but he didn’t know how to express it. Whenever he saw her on campus she would always give him a smile and wave which Levi would reciprocate. He regretted the way everything ended but he was thankful she didn’t hold a vengeance against him. He was 18 and foolish but he was older now and slightly less foolish.
Levi looked out the window and started to form a plan in his head. It was evident he had some sort of feelings for you, you were funny, pretty, easy to talk to and you cared about what he had to say. He smiled as he remembered how earnestly you looked at him while he explained the latest book he was reading, he started reading books he thought you might like. Shitballs, maybe I do like her. There was nothing he could do now, he didn’t want to do anything until he had a better understanding about what you were thinking. He nodded his head, proud of his plan.
The hardwood floor creaked as Erwin walked over to the bathroom. Outside of the window, the sky was beginning to glow with a soft orange hue. Levi closed the curtain, pulled off his clothes and tucked himself into bed. He curled his body around a pillow and slowly began to drift off, eager to wake up to begin his plan.
The crisp autumn hit your face as you opened the doors to the lecture hall. You felt light and airy after finishing your genetics midterm. It was one of the hardest tests you’ve taken but you felt okay about it. Hange had helped you study for the past week and their enthusiasm and studying techniques helped you out immensely. I owe them big time, you thought. Your phone buzzed in your pocket, it was Hange.
Hange: U FREAKING DID IT!!! IM SO PROUD XD
You: thank uuu, i feel good about it!
Hange: YAY! We’re out in the park blocks! Join us!
You: ok !
You stared at the screen and re-read the conversation. Join us...they must mean Levi and Erwin. You scoffed the tip of your boot into the pavement, the familiar feeling of nerves began to dance in your stomach. Slowly, you made your way to the park blocks, the on-campus park where students would have picnics and study sessions. Students began to pour out of lecture halls and other buildings, eager to celebrate the end of midterms week. There was an undeniable feeling of excitement as they cheered and laughed.
You stood at the edge of the park looking for the trio. Levi waved his hand from a picnic bench and smiled at you. Your heart momentarily stopped and you realized you’ve never seen him outside of the cafe. He was wearing a hunter green sweater and his black overcoat. The wind feebly moved through his hair but even from farway you could see the deep circles around his eyes. You made your way to the trio and gave out a half-hearted hello.
“(Y/N)! How do you feel?!” Hange shouted.
“Fucking relieved,” You said. Levi smiled.
“I’m proud of you, (Y/N). Hange told us about all the hours you studied for the exam.” Erwin gave you a thumbs up.
“Thanks, dude. How were your midterms?” You asked as you sat down next to Erwin.
“They went well! I think I got an A on my Political Theory exam but we’ll find out soon enough.”
“Erwin, you clown, you know you aced that test.” Hange rolled their eyes. “But thanks to the lovely Levi, I know I got an A on my essay.”
Levi frowned. “Tsk, I was surprised you even knew how to spell.”
Hange hit Levi’s shoulders and he swiped back.
“Hey, stop it you two,” Erwin scolded. “I swear, they’re like children.”
You laughed and nodded. The Levi you knew was always stoic and calm but Hange brought out a different side of him. He looked happier even when he was annoyed. You grabbed a dead leaf from the table and started to pull it apart, rubbing the dead plant bits between your fingers.
“Are you good?” Levi’s voice broke your concentration. You looked up and met his gray-blue eyes.
“Yep, all good here.” You smiled at him and he returned one back.
“That’s fantastic! So tonight. Ymir’s Bar at eight. Got it?” Hange ordered.
Erwin and Levi nodded in response and looked at you. Your eyes darted between the three of them.
“Uh, I would love but I’m hanging out with a few people tonight.”
“Please, join us! Your friends are more than welcome to come, the more the merrier,” Hange begged.
“I beg to differ…” Levi mumbled.
“Shut up, grumps.” Hange elbowed Levi and returned their gaze back to you. “It’ll be fun, I’ll buy you a shot.”
You rolled your eyes, “fine, but I’m buying you a shot. I owe you, Hange.”
Hange squealed and clapped their hands. “Yay! My friend, Moblit will tag along too. You haven’t met him yet but he’s great and such a talented artist. You’ll love him.”
“Sweet, I’m excited, can you send me the address?” You responded. Hange nodded.
“Who are you hanging out with?” Erwin asked.
“Oh, uh. My boyfriend and some of our friends,” You muttered.
“I didn’t know you had a boyfriend. (Y/N) why didn’t you tell me?” Hange asked, heartbroken.
Erwin glanced at Levi. He was looking at the grains in the table, his heart sank but he knew better than to let his friends know.
“I don’t know. It didn’t seem like the most important thing to talk about during our study sessions.” You were unsure why but you felt defensive over Hange’s comment.
Hange looked hurt at your response, you felt a pang of regret. You didn’t mean to keep your relationship a secret but your life didn’t revolve around your relationship so it felt pointless to bring him up. The air around the table was tense and cold. The sun was setting and the four of you were on the brink of being enveloped by the shadow of a large lecture hall.
“Regardless, I’m eager to meet your boyfriend and friends,” Erwin said in a strained voice.
“Yeah, I’m excited for all of you to meet. I think I’m going to go home and get ready.”
“Of course, we’ll see you soon,” Erwin said in a quiet tone.
You waved goodbye to all of them, the trio waved back and you made your way to the bus station. As you waited for the bus, you sent your boyfriend a message to meet your new friends at Ymir’s. He sent back a simple thumbs up emoji as a response. You pulled out a pair of headphones and blasted music to drown out your thoughts. Yet Levi’s face kept on appearing in your head, the way the sunlight caressed the hard lines of his face, his honest smile when he was with his friends, the way his eyes lost their glow when you announced you had a boyfriend. We never did anything. Hell, I didn’t even know his name until last week so why should I care what he thinks. We’re just coffee shop friends, that’s it. The bus pulled to the stop, you waited for everyone to exit before entering and made your way to the back window seat. The glass was cold on your forehead but it felt nice. You sighed, preparing yourself for a night out with your new friends and your boyfriend.
Levi’s POV
After you left, Hange and Erwin looked at Levi with concern in their eyes. Levi noticed their stares and glanced up at them.
“The fuck you looking at,” he growled.
“Levi, I’m sorry,” Hange whispered.
“About what?” He scoffed.
Erwin was about to speak but Levi abruptly got up and buttoned his coat. “I’m going home. I’ll see you both at Ymir’s.”
Erwin and Hange exchanged a look and nodded. When Levi made up his mind there was no stopping him. They watched him walk away, his head was slightly lower than usual. Levi walked over to the bike rack and unhooked his black low handle bicycle. In one smooth motion, he drapped his leg over the seat and began to peddle home. The wind hurt his face and burned his lungs but he pushed harder and harder on the pedals. Crouching down on the seat as he biked up the hills, hoping to ride away from the bench to run away from his disillusion that you could love him.
A few hours later, Erwin, Hange and Moblit entered the apartment. Hange called out to Levi.
“Hey, Mr. Grumps! We have something for yoooou!!” They called out.
Levi moaned and rolled out of bed, his bare feet hit the cold ground as he dragged himself to the living.
“What is it, Four Eyes? Hey, take off your disgusting shoes,” he scolded. “Oh, hey, Moblit.”
Moblit raised his head slightly as a hello. He wasn’t a man of many words. Hange held up a bottle of whiskey and grinned. “So we could pre-game. Take this as a thank you present for helping me write my essay.”
Levi rolled his eyes and smiled. He was touched by Hange’s generosity but he would never dare show it to them.
“I’ll grab us some mugs,” Erwin said and began to walk towards the kitchen.
“No, Erwin! Tonight’s a shot type of night,” Hange said deviously.
The three men looked at them and hesitantly nodded. They wanted to relax and unwind but a  night out led by Hange always ended up with someone’s head in the toilet. Still, they each filled a shot glass, cheered and downed the alcohol. They drank for a while, everyone’s faces were glowing. Hange was blasting music and dancing. Moblit watched them with admiration. Erwin and Levi were giggling over something stupid Erwin said.
Erwin looked at the clock, it was closing in on 8. “Shit, we should get going.”
“Hey, man watch your mouth. And maybe we should stay in. It’s cheaper,” Levi said.
“Levi, noooo. We can’t do that. We told (Y/N)  that we would meet her at Ymir’s!” The alcohol was already getting to Hange.
“Who’s (Y/N)?” Mobit asked.
“My friend from genetics! And Levi’s too,” Hange proclaimed.
Levi rolled his eyes. “Tsk, she’s not my friend. I hardly know her.”
“Mmm, if you say so.”
“Whatever, let’s go,” Levi said curtly.
The four of them grabbed their coats and headed to Ymir’s. It was only a ten minute walk from their place. Hange let everyone know that you had already arrived and saved a table on the back patio. As they walked, they talked about their finals and plans for the upcoming break.  When they arrived at Ymir’s, they pushed open the door and entered the humid room. The bar was full of people celebrating the weekend, a couple was making out in one of the booths and people were lined around the bar. They ordered their drinks and walked through the back doors.
Levi’s hands began to sweat and he felt a lump in his throat when he saw you. You looked beautiful under the glow of the patio lights, you were smiling and had a beer glass on your lips and you were laughing. Erwin stood in place and Hange stopped their chatter.
“Oh, so that’s what they’re doing now,” Hange spouted.
They were referring to Zeke who had their arm around you and to Porco and Pieck who were sitting across from you and your boyfriend.
You saw the group at the back entrance and waved. Your nerves from earlier were completely forgotten after your second beer. Zeke rubbed his thumb against your shoulder and you smiled out of habit. You made eye contact with Levi and gave him a toothy grin, his eyes darted away. Your friends looked at the party headed towards them and stopped talking but you didn’t notice.
“Hey, I was wondering if y’all forgot where the bar is,” you joked but no one laughed.
“Erwin. Levi. It’s been a while,” Zeke stated.
You looked at him confused. “What? You know them?”
Zeke chuckled, “yeah, I guess I do.”
“Zeke, it’s nice to see you again. Same to you Porco and Pieck,” Erwin stated.
Porco and Pieck looked at each other and smiled. “It’s nice to see you too, Erwin,” Pieck said in a sweet voice.
Levi glared at the way Zeke’s arm was draped across your shoulder. He gritted his teeth. Hange noticed how tense he was getting and placed a hand on his shoulder.
“What a small world! I’m glad everyone knows each other. Guys, sit down!” You motioned at the empty seats at the table, completely misreading the space.
Hange was the first to sit and the rest followed. The table was quiet for a few minutes, everyone sipped on their drinks.
“Levi, I like your scarf,” You pointed to the black scarf draped across his body.
“Thanks.”
“Yeah, it’s such a nice scarf,” Zeke repeated.
Levi gave Zeke a dirty look. Hange looked at him nervously and Moblit put a hand on their knee to calm them. You took another sip of your beer.
“Yeah, Zeke, it is a nice scarf. That’s why I complimented it. Anyways, how do you all know each other?” Confidence surged through your veins thanks to the alcohol.
“We were floormates freshman year,” Levi’s dry voice said.
“Wait-oh, I see,” You said.
Erwin began to make casual conversation with everyone while Levi stared at the bottom of his glass. Hange and Moblit joined Erwin and conversed with the other two at the table. Wait, is Zeke the one that called Erwin’s kickback lame? That’s the only possibility, right? Your head was dizzy from the alcohol but the puzzle pieces were starting to fall into place.
“Hey, (Y/N),” Porco called out.
“Huh?”
“You good? It looks like we lost you there for a second.”
“Yeah, Porco. I’m fine,” You said sarcastically.
“Zeke, you and (Y/N) make a good couple,” Erwin said.
Zeke chuckled and squeezed you closer to his toned body, “I know but thank you.”
You kept your head down unsure about what to do. It was evident that Zeke had an issue with Erwin and Levi but you didn’t fully understand why. From what you heard, Zeke was the one who was mean to the other two but Zeke was your boyfriend so you should be on his side, right? You took another swig of your beer.
“Levi, are you still with Petra?” Pieck asked.
Petra? Who the fuck is that, you thought, anger coursed through your veins.
“No,” Levi said.
“Oh, that’s too bad. She was such a lovely girl,” Pieck sighed.
“Who’s Petra?” You asked.
No one answered your question. You looked at Pieck but she kept her eyes down. What the fuck is up?
“She’s a girl I dated freshman year,” Levi explained.
“Oh.”
Hange broke the tension by shouting, “(Y/N), I promised you a shot! Who else wants one?”
Pieck, Moblit and Erwin raised their hands. Hange called over a server and asked for a round of shots for everyone. A few minutes later, they brought tequila shots for the table. Everyone grabbed their lime and raised their glass.
“To finishing finals!” Hange exclaimed.
The table repeated what Hange said and took their shot. You and Porco laughed at Pieck’s face and she stuck her tongue out at you. Zeke kissed your cheek and you leaned into his warm body. For a second, it felt like it did at the beginning of your relationship. You felt safe and hopeful but those feelings disappeared when you caught Levi looking at you and Zeke. Immediately, you pulled away and Zeke frowned. You weren’t one for PDA but after a few drinks you didn’t mind showing your man some love but under Levi’s eye it felt wrong.
“Let’s do another shot!” Hange shouted.
“Hange!! Let me buy you a shot!!” You shouted back.
“(Y/N), you’re the best!!” Hange exclaimed, their cheeks glowing under the lights.
Everyone took another shot and the mood around the table began to lighten as everyone got drunker. Porco made a few jokes that made Erwin laugh. Zeke talked to Hange about their senior thesis. Everything seemed to be falling into place except for Levi. He didn’t make an effort to hold a conversation with anyone. He stared at the empty shot glasses and occasionally smiled at whatever Erwin said.
The patio lights shadows made Levi look heavenly, the soft glow bounced off his pale skin and you tried not to stare but you couldn’t, he looked so pretty.
Zeke could sense that your thoughts were taking you elsewhere so he gave you a kiss on the check. You gave him a smile in return.
The bar was packed and everyone at the table was talking after a new round of drinks. It should be a perfect night, all of your friends seemed to be getting alone but something didn’t feel right. In that moment, you wished it could have been Levi holding your body. Stop, Levi is just a friend, that’s it. I love Zeke. You repeated in your head over and over.
As the night dragged on, you slowly began to lose touch with reality, everything became a happy, surreal blur. Throughout the night, Zeke kept his hands on your body. Before that would have kept you grounded but now it felt off, you weren’t sure if it was the alcohol but you didn’t want him to touch you. You kept on smiling and talking to everyone until the bartender called for final orders.
“This was nice but I think we should get going now,” Erwin declared.
“Yeah, I think you’re right,” Pieck said.
Everyone gathered their belongings and started to walk towards the front door. Zeke walked ahead with Porco and Pieck but you stayed behind with the others. Erwin, Hange and Moblit left you and Levi together alone. Hange’s arm was wrapped around Moblit’s shoulder. They leaned against their body and continued talking.
“Hey, I had a good time tonight,” You said to Levi who barely acknowledged your existence.
“It was okay,” He stated.
The two of you followed the others.
“But what are the odds of us forming a friendship in this way, right?” You said.
“Tsk, a friendship? We hardly know each other, I wouldn't push it,” Levi responded.
“I guess you’re right,” You muttered.
Levi felt bad about his harsh tone but he didn’t know what to do. He still had the same warm feeling in his chest from before but watching Zeke touch you hurt him. All of you had exited the bar and you walked over to Zeke and he placed his jacket over your shoulders.
“Well, it was, uh, nice to catch up with all of you. Hange thank you for helping my girl study. Get home safe,” Zeke said. You smiled and everyone and waved.
“Zeke, the same to you too. Glad to know you’re doing well. (Y/N) congrats on finishing midterms. See you later,” Erwin said.
“I love yoouuu! I love all of you!” Hange shouted. Moblit still had his arm around Hange to stabilize them.
“Love you too, Hange!” You blew them a kiss.
They all turned and began to walk home. Porco and Pieck had already left in their Uber. You looked at Zeke and he gave you a smile and you smiled back out of habit.
Zeke made conversation on your way back to his place. You wrapped your arms around your body and counted the steps in between each street light. The air around you was dry and your breath fell to the ground in a transparent cloud. Eventually, you made it to Zeke’s apartment, it was highrise close to downtown. When you entered the apartment your attention immediately went to the large windows. They faced the city skyline and the lights poured into the living room and gently outlined the minimal furniture in the room. Zeke led you to the bedroom and began to kiss the back of your neck. His beard tickled your neck and left goosebumps on your skin. You rolled your shoulders and stepped away.
“Come on,” Zeke groaned.
“No, not tonight. I’m really tired,” You said.
You made your way to the bathroom and turned on the harsh lights. The lights bounced off the white tiles and highlighted the bags under your eyes. You stared at yourself for a while, the longer you stared, the faster your thoughts swirled in your head. Is Levi made at me? You splashed cold water on your face and tried to wash off the awkwardness from tonight but no matter how hard you scrubbed, you couldn’t get the image of Levi staring at the empty glasses out of your head.
When you walked back into the bedroom you saw Zeke passed on the bed. You smiled at him and placed a blanket over his body and brushed his hair away from his forehead. You curled up on the opposite side of the bed and wrapped a blanket around yourself. Zeke’s soft snores filled the room, normally that was enough to lull you to sleep but lately it was becoming more of a nuisance. Why am I feeling like this? I love Zeke and he loves me back, that should be enough. So why do I feel so unsure? Zeke wasn’t your first partner but he was your first proper love. Everything beforehand had felt like practice for this.
The two of you had met in the spring term of sophomore year. The sun was shining and you we’re sitting on a blanket with Rico bouncing off ideas for research projects. You kept an eye on the baseball team who were practicing near the two of you. Rico was in the middle of explaining her ideas when a baseball flew in your direction.
“Heads up!” shouted a deep voice.
Both of you covered your heads as the ball flew over your blanket. The footsteps of one of the players was nearing your spot.
“Hey, I’m sorry about that.”
You tried to look up but the sun was blinding your eyes. You were able to make out the outline of a tall, man with broad shoulders and wavy blonde hair. He flashed a charismatic smile and said,“the name’s Jaeger. Zeke Jaeger.”
You introduced yourself and Zeke knelt down so his head was at your level.
“Nice to meet you. I feel about almost hitting you. Not sure what happened, normally I have perfect aim.” He winked at you. “Let me make it up by taking you out for a drink, your friend is more than welcomed to come.”
You blushed and thanked him and began to decline your offer when Rico interrupted you.
“She, I mean, we would love that. Here’s her number and mine, too.”
“Thanks, I’ll shoot y’all a text.”
Zeke stood up, grabbed the ball and gave you a wave before running back to his team. From that point on, the two of you had been inseparable.
You drifted off thinking about those first memories, the sweetness of his touch, the excitement of loving Zeke, the hopefulness you had. If you kept on thinking about those moments then maybe they would manifest back into your life. You wanted back that stability in your love so much it hurt your chest.
The next day you rolled over to an empty bed. Your hand traced the cold sheets and you kept your hands in the sunlight, the warmth felt good compared to the draft in Zeke’s bedroom. He preferred a colder bedroom, he said it was better for the body. The front door opened and you pretended to be asleep. Zeke’s footsteps got closer to the bed and you felt him press a kiss to your cheek, he smelled of sweat and musk. Who goes on a run after a night out? You thought. The showerhead turned on and you heard Zeke sing.
You got up and rummaged through Zeke’s drawer and pulled out a navy cardigan. You wrapped the fabric over your body and padded your way to the kitchen. The kitchen was colder than the bedroom.
“Fuck, who lives like this?”
You poured yourself water and stared at the tiles on the walls. Re-playing Levi’s comment in your head. Tsk, a friendship? We hardly know each other, I wouldn't push it. You didn’t blame Levi for his harshness but his comment hurt. There was no denying that you two shared a kinship that was a bit deeper than friendship. Romance wasn’t the word for it either. The relationship you had formed with him felt safe, you felt understood and respected in a way you haven’t really before. Your concentration was broken when you heard Zeke enter the kitchen.
“Hey, babe. Good morning.” He pressed a kiss to your temple. “I bought you a smoothie.”
“Thanks, Zeke,” you responded.
He grabbed the smoothie from the fridge and smiled at you. You sat on the counter and began to sip on the drink. Zeke hummed to himself and began to pull out a pan from the cupboard.
“Whatcha thinking about?” you asked.
“Life.”
“Like, the gameboard?” You joked.
He rolled his eyes. “Honestly, I’m thinking about last night. I never thought I was going to see those guys ever again.”
“Mmm, why did something happen?” You said nonchalantly.
Zeke chuckled, “stupid freshman things. We were all young and dumb.”
He stayed silent afterwards as he went on to fry some eggs. The eggs sizzled in the pan and he whistled quietly. You knew him well enough to know he wanted to say something else.
“I mean, I did dumb stuff when I was freshman so how bad can it actually be?” You prodded.
Zeke stared at you with a series expression. “Look (Y/N), I don’t really want to hash out what happened but-” he hesitated as he looked for the right words to say, “-be careful around Levi. There’s something off about that guy.”
“Oh,” you muttered.
You continued drinking the smoothie, the smell of the egg was making you nauseous and you started to feel the hanging over. You went back into the bedroom and laid down. Your phone buzzed and saw a text from Hange.
Hange: OMG i’m so hungover, i don’t remember getting home
You: Hange, WTF that’s not good lol but I know you were in good hands ;)
Hange: wut does that mean??
You: Moblit lol he was so nice and caring
Hange: … no comment but what are you doing
You: nothing really, why?
Hange: do you want to get brunch?
Hange: it’ll just be the two of us :)
You: yeah, i would love that, send me the address !
The smell of egg had entered the bedroom and you gagged. You hated the smell but Zeke insisted that it was the best way to get protein in the morning. You grabbed your belongings and walked to the kitchen again. Zeke was sitting at the counter eating the eggs and drinking his smoothie while reading the paper.
“Hey, I think I’m gonna head out!”
“Really? I thought we could spend the day together before I leave,” Zeke responded.
“You’re leaving?” You paused while putting on your shoes.
“I thought I told you. My internship is taking me on a trip for the next three days and then I’m heading home for the break,” Zeke said in between bites of food.
“Shit. You didn’t tell me. How about we hang out later today?”
“Yeah, I guess that sounds good to me. I’ll see you later,” he said.
“See ya.”
You went back to your apartment to freshen up and hurried to the diner Hange was it. You stepped through the doors and immediately saw Hange’s smiling face. They were waving you to their table. You greeted them with equal excitement and walked to them. For the past few weeks, some of your favorite moments have been hanging out with them. They always brightened your mood with their cheerful banter and love for life. You were excited to eat brunch with them and question them more about the history between the trio and your boyfriend.

Monday 26.4.2021:
Today was pretty good i don`t know what to write now but ill try. I went to school and hated everything and i doubt that i successfully manage to finish the 12 grade and i wont even think about the 13 grade. I got an industrial piercing a month ago and i really love it and cant wait to get the next.
Tuesday 27.4.2021:
The day isn’t over right now but i thought its a good idea to start writing now. So I was at the doctors and they took blood from me to see if my thyroid is working correctly. For that i skipped the hole day of school because its easier for me when i have to work. I work a t an elders home and i have to work at the station wehre the most people life... to be honest its not easy to work at this station and i would like to not be there but its fine cause im not that often there.I think ill go study for some of my exams i have to write tomorrow and Friday. Alright I‘m back from work and it was so annoying. I got headache and feel so damn tired. Luckily I can call the rest of this day through the night otherwise I would k¡|| myself right now tbh. I miss her so much even tho she just went back home a few hours ago but she wehre her at my side for 3 months and i got used to it. It‘s just physical pain i got now from missing her and i won‘t start at my emotional pain right now. And for the rest of the day i definitely not studying for the exam tomorrow. Instead i‘ll watch Netflix and FaceTime with my Girlfriend.
Wednesday 28.4.2021:
Did i tell you how much i hate school? I just can’t stand these damn teachers with all their stupidity. I mean how did they manage to get their university degree? But one good thing is there, it shows me that no matter how stupid i can become i can be everything i want and i can study what i want. I‘m so done with school! I finished my exam and went home but i‘m still full of rage for some reason. I also have to write an 10 paged essay till May 20th. I have to clean up my room and also need to study for my next exam at Friday. But first i have to at least watch one episode of Orange is the new black. I also think that i‘m gonna do something lika a schedule to plan my time on cleaning, studying and free time. Thats sounds like a good idea for me. So I just washed my dirty laundry and put the clean clothes in the closet. And I’m very proud that i didn’t quitt in the middle of the process and i also managed to do my Homework. I got a ´To do List` to visualize and not forget to do something before i visit my girlfriend for the weekend. I want to clean everything so that everything is nice and clean and not messy and disgusting. Im also very happy that i washed my laundry because i got no clean underwear anymore and now its clean i can see my floor again. I need to vacuum but thats a problem of tomorrow.
Thursday 29.4.2021:
So i just woke up and im pretty nervous because i have to go to the cardiologist. And at 7pm i got a date with my psychologist once again. Im pretty tired but my eyeliner is well damn fine today. I came back and my granddad tells me what all that stuff the doctor writes means. Its not dangerous or something. I got it from my mom and grandmother. He also said that my heart is going up faster than it’s should but as i said everything is fine. Thats that and for now ill watch one episode and then vacuum and swipe the floor. Maybe also look if some cloths are already dry and wash my bed sheets and put a fresh new on. After my psychologist appointment ill take a shower. I learned that my birth is one of my reasons i got so many issues and also takes part of me developed my ED. Im hella tired and took a shower. I probably going to vacuum either now or tomorrow. I also change my bed sheets either tomorrow or Sunday when i come home from my fiancé. The one thing that annoys me is, that i didn’t get any time to study or any concentration for it. Al least i get the chance to see my girlfriend for 1,5 hours and also get to visit a dear friend of mine as well. But im hella tired. I don‘t like the morning of tomorrow already but im very excited and happy about the fact, that ill go to my fiancé for the weekend.
Friday 30.4.02021:
I did my exam and i didn’t mess it up completely. I just hated the hole school day and i‘m glad that im at my girlfriends place now for the weekend! I guess that im gonna play more on my PS4 or actually do something for school as i should. Im just happy to be here. I just fricking hate my mood swings! I should be relaxet and happy to be at my girlfriends place, but im just annoyed and grumpy. Maybe because my mom is here for hours as well but the real reason idk. Its probably that i just don’t want to think about my health but when im here i just cant hold my walls up i use to unsee my health and mental health problem. Its a hard phase again, not in the same way as it was like before a month but its not that much easier either. I just don‘t know what to do and how to feel, neither how to behave. I just cant deal with myself, then someone from my friend i meet through my fiancé told me i look sick in a negative way. That wont leave my head. I just feel the need to cry, to scream, to stop being myself. I just want to safe and quit this game named ‚live‘. I just don’t know. Thats all. I don’t want to be happy or polite for others, i don’t want to smile for others. But they worry and ask questions like ‚whats up?‘ , ‚how are you?‘. I JUST DONT KNOW EITHER!!!! Why cant the just be satisfied with a ‚nothing and im fine‘? I don’t want to talk okay? I just got my therapy yesterday and that was enough for me, thanks. I just want to be left alone right now and cry alone for myself without someone witness it.
Saturday 1.5.2021:
I woke up and choose violence. Kinda. I had a relaxed and nice day with my girlfriend and her roommates. We just played a bit on our PS4 and decided to play Beat Saber now. I just needed this weekend to charge myself. I feel home in her arms and i love just be in her apartment. Just spending time with her is so wholesome for me. And i also like her roommates, i know one from school and its just so amazingly how peacefully it is with all the people living here.
Sunday 2.5.2021:
It just a chilling day as well. I remembered that ill write an exam tomorrow but its just art so is isn‘t tragic, that i wont study. And im sad and moody cause i have to go home today. Well back home i cried because i cant sleep next to my girlfriend.

Hello I was wondering if you could do a tadashi (bh6) x nurse reader fic (or oneshot) and/or a V (V for vendetta) x nurse reader. Merci :)
Tadashi X Reader – Medical Student
A/N – Originally, I had a plot as to why the other students disliked the reader, but I decided not to put it in because this is like… 6 pages long.
Warnings – Minor Swearing.
Rating – T
Tumblr media
Tadashi glanced at the first schematics for Baymax. He now had the designs for the skeleton and the data chip that would contain the medical protocols and procedures. Excited to start changing the world, Tadashi begun work on the database that would go on the chip. The work carried on into the night, but he was finally ready to upload it onto the drive.
An error message appeared on the holographic computer screen only six percent into the data transfer. Tadashi frowned tiredly, he’d been ready to finish for the night, but he knew he wouldn’t be able to stop until he found the source of the problem.
After numerous diagnostics and scans ran on the computer that consumed further hours, Tadashi still hadn’t found a solution.
“Burning the midnight oil, Mr Hamada?” Professor Callaghan entered the lab.
“As always,” Tadashi answered amiably.
Callaghan glanced at the computer screen where the error message stubbornly remained. “It seems that you’ve ran into some programming trouble. May I?”
“Sure,” Tadashi moves aside, letting Callaghan sit at the desk.
Callaghan examined the extensive database, tapping idly at some keys to highlight the problem on screen. “Well Mr Hamada, it’s apparent that the base program on the chip can’t contain the database you’re trying to download because of conflicting information. Take a look at this for example, one treatment for infections is antibacterial spray, another older method suggests leeches. The program doesn’t know which to prioritise. My suggestion is to come back tomorrow and visit the medical students after classes. Try to get their professor’s permission to work with one of the students; maybe they can organise your database.”
“Thanks professor.”
Callaghan nodded and the two walked out together.
Tumblr media
Tadashi roamed the halls of the medical building. Although it was much smaller than the tech building he worked in, he’d still managed to get lost.
“Young man!” A squat Korean lady said sternly with her hands on her hips. “As head of the medical department I make it my business to know all the medical students, you are not one of them and have no business being here.”
Professor Callaghan had forewarned Tadashi of Doctor Kirkbride for she was apparently a tough lady to impress.
“Excuse me Doctor Kirkbride, I’m Tadashi Hamada, a technology student and-”
“And you’re making me late for class. Walk and talk, hurry now.”
Tadashi kept up with the brisk pace set by Doctor Kirkbride, explaining his plight all the while. By the time they reached the auditorium Kirkbride stopped Tadashi, “You want one of my students, fine, but if you get in the way of their education, we’ll be using you in class instead of Mr Cadaver. Got it?”
Tadashi nodded nervously.
“Good. You’ll have to find a volunteer yourself. Good luck getting a partner with exams coming up.”
She opened the door, exuding power and silencing the congregation of students talking outside of their designated work areas.
“Class,” she boomed, “This is Tadashi Hamada, one of the technology students. He needs help compiling a medical database for his project. Is anyone willing to volunteer?”
Everyone avoided his gaze.
“No? Then get to your work stations and follow the instructions there. Mr Hamada, you’ll have to present your case yourself.”
Doctor Kirkbride left him alone. He looked around the room uncertainly. Everyone was in a group of three at a work station that had an outdated whiteboard with instructions and dummy patients which seemed to have seen better days; evidently the medical building didn’t get as much funding as the rest of the university.
With his friendliest smile, Tadashi approached the first group with the identical twins Iroh and Kyo as well as a girl named Ivy.
“Hey,” he started confidently, “would you-”
“Busy,” the twins pushed past him, inserting a catheter and IV into the dummy.
He looked to Ivy, “Exams,” she deadpanned, ignoring him.
Tadashi refused to be disappointed, moving onto the next group, then the one after that and the one after that; nobody gave him the time of day. Finally, he got to the last table which had the only person not working in a group; you.
With low expectations he spoke, “Hi, I’m-”
You held up a hand, “Tadashi, yeah. You’re awfully persistent for somebody rejected by twenty-four people. Don’t you get it? Nobody wants to work with you.”
Tadashi slumped slightly, “Yeah, I know, exams.”
“Seriously? You believe that crap? That’s not why they won’t work with you.”
“Then why?”
“‘Cos, you tech types are all the same. You waltz in here, take a procedure that was perfectly fine in the first place and make a make a machine that does it. We’re all afraid that whatever you’re building will make us obsolete before we’ve even finished training.”
Tadashi frowned, his mouth slightly agape, “I never really thought of it that way… I don’t want to make anyone obsolete, I’m just trying to help people.”
You leaned against the operating table, interested in the flurry of emotions showing in Tadashi’s eyes. Before, he had the same hope you had every day on your way to becoming a doctor, now he was displaying a complex mix of sadness, confusion, and guilt.
“Your project,” you said, “how many will it help?”
“When it’s done? Millions.”
You rolled your eyes to the ceiling, muttering, “This better not affect my grades.” Then to Tadashi, “Fine, I’m (Y/N) and I guess I can sort your database.”
Tadashi shook with excitement, making you giggle with his impromptu dance. “Thank you, I promise you won’t regret this.”
“OY!” A red-haired student in the group next to yours called. “You workin’ with ‘im?”
“Yeah,” you answered nonchalantly.
“Fuckin’ sell-out.”
Tadashi deflated, watching you apologetically, “I-”
You shook your head at him, “If you dare apologise I’ll quit.”
“But if this makes you unpopular-”
“Ha! I’m working on my own in a group assignment, you don’t get more unpopular than that. See, you’re already taking credit for what I did all on my own. Give it a week and see if you still want to work with me. Now get out, I finish in an hour, meet me outside then and I’ll see what I’m working with.”
Tumblr media
You threw your arms up angrily, reading over the database, “What the hell is this? The sources are totally uncredible, it’s disorganised, it’s… is that a Wikipedia page? Good lord, it is. And on top of all this you want me to write up treatments for everything? EVERYTHING? You’re insane, this is impossible.”
Tadashi got down on his knees, holding his hands together and begging you with huge puppy eyes, “Not even for me?”
You grabbed his cap from the desk, shoving it in his face and pushing him over with the force.
“Huh, a wild (Y/N) attacks when angered,” Tadashi reported, leaning up from the floor.
You struggled to suppress a smile, “Like a viper.”
“Pray tell crazy viper person, how can I get you to do this?”
“Inject caffeine into my blood stream until this is all over.”
“I think I can make that work.”
“Then we better get started, come on puppy dog, coffee, chop chop.”
Tadashi got up and saluted, “Yes Captain.”
You grinned as he left; perhaps working with him wouldn’t be as much of an irritant as you supposed.
Tumblr media
Writing treatments to every ailment you could think of was excruciatingly slow work. Two months in and you’d barely made a dent. Yet the work wasn’t as unpleasant as you’d initially thought; your grades had improved considerably and working with Tadashi proved to be fun. He’d told you many of the misadventures of his little brother Hiro, and of his Aunt Cass who owned a café uptown somewhere.
While you enjoyed Tadashi’s company, he felt a lot more strongly towards you. He adored your grumpy humour and the way you were willing to work with him in the face of adversity from your classmates who had since ignored you completely. More than that, he loved that you genuinely wanted to help people even though you didn’t know what he was building. He’d told his family a little of you but kept details light and fleeting, unable to trust himself to speak without revealing too many of his own confused thoughts.
One night, after he’d stayed alone at the university to draw-up further plans for Baymax, he arrived back home to a surprise. You were sat in the café with a notepad and a medical journal. He’d never told you which café he lived at, but coincidence had brought you there. Never before had he cared about looking cool in front of you but before he knew when and where you were going to meet. Suddenly something was different, it may have been the concentrated frown you wore or that you practically glowed under the café’s dim lighting, but he definitely felt something towards you.
Ignoring the onslaught of nerves, he entered, dropping casually into the seat opposite yours in the cosy booth, “You know, café’s are supposed to be for relaxing.”
“’Dashi!” You dropped the book with a surprise then smiled. “What’re you doing here?”
“Oh, I know the owner.”
As if on cue, Cass dropped by to see her nephew, “Tadashi, you’re home,” she said warmly.
“Hi Aunt Cass,” he got up to hug her.
Cass spotted you, “And you have a friend.”
“I’m (Y/N),” You got up to shake her hand. “It’s a pleasure to meet you, Tadashi has told me so much about you.”
Tadashi blushed behind you, smiling affectionately at the friendly manner in which you regarded Cass.
Cass hummed knowingly, “Really? He has? Well that’s great. (Y/N), how about you join us for dinner?”
Tadashi swallowed apprehensively, he desperately wanted you to say yes and meet his family officially.
“Are you sure I wouldn’t be intruding?”
“Intruding? Of course not. Tadashi, take (Y/N) upstairs while I close up, oh I am so excited.”
She bounced on the spot and you realised exactly where Tadashi got his own little happy dance from; it had a heart-warming effect, comforting you in an unexpected way.
Over dinner, Cass learnt everything she could about you, leaving no question unasked. Hiro meanwhile, took an interest in you when you asked about the bot he was holding; he used the opportunity to show off until Tadashi started making fun of him for it. Although the family was a small one, the love was overwhelming. Cass clearly adored her two nephews; they were like three pieces of a jigsaw, different shapes but they fit together well. Alas, time flew, and it was time for you to head home yourself.
“It’s been wonderful meeting you,” You beamed at Aunt Cass, sticking your hand out.
Cass ignored the hand, hugging you tightly, “Come back soon.” When she let you go she asked, “How far is the walk home?”
“About forty minutes from here.”
“Are you sure you don’t want me to drive you?”
“It’s alright, Tadashi already volunteered for that, he’s taking me back on his moped.”
“Right, drive safe Tadashi, and call me when you get there.”
Tadashi wrapped his arm around you, forgetting himself for a moment but staying when you didn’t protest, “Don’t worry Aunt Cass, we’ll be fine.”
With Cass calling goodbyes, Tadashi led you to the garage and his moped. He threw you a helmet which you caught with ease.
“And with a catch like that, (L/N)’s ready for the rugby team, (s)he could go all the way,” Tadashi cheered.
“And with a throw like that, Tadashi is ready to go back to summer camp, so he can learn from people with actual talent.”
He held his heart, mimicking pain, “It’s a low blow that brings pain with it, and after I was being nice to you.”
“Well yeah but you have to be nice to me because I’m doing your work for you, lazy boy.”
“A second low blow with a staggering effect. I can’t simply like you?”
You grinned, dancing towards him with a singsong voice, “You like me, you love me, you want to hug me.”
Tadashi tried to laugh but with each line you came a little bit closer, mocking him further, “You want to kiss me, you want to marry me…”
You trailed off, suddenly aware of the lack of laughter. At some point, the atmosphere had become heavy with unspoken thoughts on Tadashi’s behalf.
You frowned uncertainly, “Tadashi? What’s wrong?”
“I uh… You’re really great with my family,” he murmured. “Actually, you’re really great altogether.”
“I don’t… I don’t understand.”
Tadashi leaned forward, brushing his lips lightly against your cheek. Your heart raced; everything had been so normal only minutes ago but now things were different, evolved somehow.
He pulled away, not daring to ask if you felt the same way about him, “That’s enough for tonight, come on, I’ll take you home.”
He got on the moped. Although you had a million questions for him, time seemed to stop when you sat behind him and held onto him tightly. He was right, for now it was enough.

Power Couple
Chapter 2: Flashbacks
I can't wait forever.
With that thought, Blue got distracted from finishing the last article of the thick law book she had been studying. She'll be taking the bar exam in a few weeks and getting held up over such irrelevant thoughts were detrimental.
Bzzzzzt!
Her phone vibrated. A message. It read:
"Honey, your whereabouts? I'm at the Stardusk café, currently. Would you care to join me?"
Blue started dialing Yellow's number. Before it was answered, Blue gently cleared her throat and adjusted her voice to a whisper. "Yellow. Yes, darling, I... Oh. Yes, as of the moment, I am at the library. I'd love to join you but what time will you be.. Oh. Yes, okay."
Yellow. She had fancied Yellow for the longest time since they were younger. And yes they were both female, but that did not deter her from harboring romantic feelings towards Yellow.
Not straight, huh? Oh, but there is no other way. There is no one else I'd be with if not my Yellow!
Blue would have this dialogue in her head every time she found herself questioning her feelings for Yellow. A glorious day it was when Yellow finally confessed. It was one of Blue's most prized memories.
~ ~ ~
Years Ago
"Blue, I.. Can we speak after etiquette class?"
Summer time, it was supposed to be leisure time for normal kids. But they were not normal kids. They were members of the handful elite.
Young Yellow is studying culture, languages, and etiquette over the summer. Her friend, Blue, is also doing the same. They were in different classes though.
They spend the few months at a prestigious academy, known only to the very wealthy, honing and learning new skills. However, what mattered most was their status, their image, the expansion of their empires, their ability to lead. They had to be perfect.
Blue could not concentrate. Ra, La, or was it Fa? She was looking at Chinese characters but nothing seems to click in her head aside from what Yellow left open-ended earlier.
What is she going to tell me? Could it be that she has a boyfriend I don't know about? Did she agree to date the guy who owns the winery? Or the son of the owner of the Yacht club? Or worse, could White have set her up with a groom of her choosing?? Should I confess my.. Oh my lord, what am I gonna do?!
Over the years of befriending and getting to know Yellow, Blue gradually saw her as more than a mere friend. She began seeing Yellow in a romantic light. Perhaps due to their conversations, maybe their shared appreciation in fashion, maybe Yellow's hidden compassion.
One time, Yellow shared her juice box with Blue just because she knew Blue loved that so much. From then on, Blue felt a spark. It's like she's a person and not just some elite being. An equal to Yellow. On other occasions, Yellow would touch her shoulder or her back as a sign of camaraderie, and she'd have thoughts of their hands intertwining. Before she knew it she was secretly pining over Yellow.
By the bench at the school park, Yellow was seated waiting for Blue. She was usually stiff and serious even at a young age, but today she was obviously restless and sweating.
"Yellow, have you been waiting long? Sorry, I just got out of language class. I came as fast as I could."
"It's fine, Blue. Let's.. walk, shall we?"
Blue was nervous herself. Both of them walking side by side but awkwardly. Yet neither could take notice as they were both immersed in their own heads. There was an unspoken presence between them. Doubts, fears, uncertainties, feelings..
"Blue, I.."
They had been walking for a while, perhaps about thirty minutes, until they stopped in an empty and secluded patch in their academy. Since only very few enrolled during the summer, it seemed like the place was entirely theirs. Yellow held Blue's hand and, with all her might, looked Blue in the eyes.
"Blue, I have.." Yellow gripped Blue's hand tighter.
"Yellow? What.. What are you trying to say?" Blue's chest tightened with Yellow's grip. Flutter, uncertainty, confusion: all at once.
Yellow could no longer contain herself. She was always the type to attack. At that moment, she deemed words would be insufficient. She decided, instead, for a grand approach.
With her right hand still holding Blue's, Yellow stationed her other hand at Blue's shoulder for anchor. She pulled her subtly trembling body towards Blue. Their faces had never been this close. So close, she could smell Blue's breath and their noses could touch. Yellow closed her eyes and softly, for the first time, kissed Blue in the lips.
"Blue, I've.. I have feelings for you! And if this.. information would terminate our friendship, then so be it."
"Yellow.."
Blue was undeniably shocked with what just transpired. It took a few moments before she could grasp the situation.
"I feel the same, Yellow. For the longest time! I'm beyond the stars just knowing you feel the same way for me!"
"Blue, would you mind if we be exclusive?"
"I.. I love you, Yellow!" Blue sloppily and ungracefully lunged towards Yellow's face and sealed her response with an inexperienced kiss.
~ ~ ~
At the Stardusk Café
Where the hell is Blue?!
Yellow grew impatient by the second. Her temper was easily thrown off the window. Sometimes it was her weakness, sometimes her strength. She tried her best to manage it though, especially whenever the situation involved Blue.
While Blue was busy with the upcoming bar exam, Yellow was busy negotiating with various clients. She was expanding her business in Asia. And though they had been together for a while, it had become more difficult to see each other. Especially since they were building and expanding their careers.
Yellow's hotheadedness was mainly caused by the excitement and frustration to see her darling, Blue. She wanted to see her, to be with her. But there was too little time.
"Honey," Blue had finally arrived. Yellow's temper melted with the sight of Blue.
"Blue, you took long enough."
"What?! You told me eight. And it's just five minutes before eight! Pearl drove as fast as she could. Anyway, can we eat somewhere? All the studying left me famished."
"Okay, Blue. But I need to get home by ten. Ten thirty at most. I'll be meeting a client early tomorrow. You know, with Mr. Cho. It's a make or break for the company, so.."
"Yes, darling. I get it. I have to be early too. I'll be speaking with the current chief executive lawyer of the firm and review a few contracts so the turn over would be smooth once I pass the exam."
"Yes, of course."
They steadfastly left the café and went to dinner at the nearest fancy restaurant. After dinner, it was already past ten. So in compliance to Yellow's assigned curfew, they decided to go home. Yellow's assistant was driving them as Blue sent hers earlier after dropping her at Stardusk.
First route was to drop Blue off, then to Yellow's house. In the backseat of Yellow's gold car, Blue closed her eyes and rested her head on Yellow's shoulder. Yellow held Blue's hand.
"Yellow, this is becoming more difficult. We barely see each other and when we do it's always in a haste."
Sigh. "I know, darling. But that's how it's supposed to be. We both have huge responsibilities."
"But maybe we don't have to haste every time. Maybe we could still be influential figures to society and still have time for ourselves. Yellow I want to spend more time with you."
Yellow kissed Blue's hair, "What are you suggesting?"
"You might think I'm silly but.. I want to marry you, Yellow! I want to be married to you, I want you to be my wife. I've thought about this and probably we can get to spend more time at least. You would come home to me, I'd come home to you. Life would be.. perfect."
Blue had sounded casual even if she may have wanted to inject more emotion to what she had just confessed. She had began to feel the fatigue of the day's work.
"Are you out of your mind?!"
Yellow was in awe with what she just heard. Gently she pulled Blue away from her shoulder so they could face each other. It was obvious in her face that she was blushing.
"Are you suggesting.. we get married, Blue?!"
"Isn't that what I just said?"
"Of.. of course. That is unheard of!"
"But Yellow, it isn't. You know that. I don't suppose you enjoy our quick dates, do you? And what are we after this? It feels like we're just dating. For the next eternity, will we still be just dating? I want to be your wife! Do you not see that?"
Blue now all fired up with frustration from Yellow's response. She thought Yellow would want the same. It seems otherwise.
"Sorry if I lashed out like that. I'm.. I'm just.. tired," Blue submitted to defeat.
"No, Blue. Don't be. I'm sorry. Please know, I do want to be married to you too. We'll have to plan this, however."
"Yes, I know."
They arrived at Blue's mansion. As they approached the driveway, Blue tidied herself a bit before alighting the gold vehicle. There was a certain weight in the air from what they had just discussed.
She pecked Yellow goodbye but before she could turn away, Yellow whispered softly to her, "Blue, I.. I want to.. touch you."
"Oh. Then, uh, come. Stay with me tonight," she smiled softly but tiredly.
"Pearl, go home. I'll call you tomorrow when I need you. Be up early." Yellow took off with Blue, taking her fancy purse and laptop bag.
"Yes, Ms. Diamond." With that command, Yellow's assistant drove home without her.
"Do you have everything you need, honey? Paperworks? Contracts? Mr. Cho, tomorrow?"
"I believe everything is here," Yellow subtly tapped her laptop bag. "I'll just have Pearl bring whatever I left, if there is any. Perhaps a set of clothes! Is.. is it okay if I stay tonight? I feel like we need to.. talk."
"Pfft! You know it's fine."
This wasn't the like usual nights they'd have. Usually these quick dates would end up where they both go home separately. Occasionally, they'd come home to one's home and spend the night. But when and if they do, it had to be scheduled. Finding time for such an activity weren't as easy given the things they have to deal with on a daily basis.
Yellow suddenly felt the urge for Blue. Perhaps due to the pressure of her company's expansion. Perhaps due to Blue's upcoming bar exam. Or probably due to the marriage bomb Blue had just dropped earlier in the car. She wanted them to connect physically that night.
They both started making out and undressing each other once they reached the master bedroom. They couldn't stop touching and kissing each other. Not being able to do this for a while had its perks. They took a bath together, and, after doing so navigated to the bed.
Now, the only universe that mattered was theirs. They melted into each other's love and smooches and caresses. They moaned and screamed like there was no one else in the world. Blue had particularly felt like being on top was appropriate that night, so she took the role and made Yellow feel ecstatic beyond the heavens. After Yellow reached her peak, she made Blue feel heavenly as well. From the moment they reached Blue's room, it took probably two or three hours before they both finished.
Panting, both now sweating and were facing one another. Yellow cuppped Blue's cheek and softly kissed her.
"Blue. Let's.. get married."
"Yellow I thought-"
"Everything you said earlier in the car, I want that too! To come home to you and you to me, yes, I would love to be able to do that. I've always loved you, Blue. I don't think I can ever be with anyone else! Please, will you be my wife?"
"Yellow, I.. Yes! Of course!" Blue bursted in tears, but that of joy. Happiness she couldn't contain.
Yellow pulled Blue closer to encapsulate her in the warmest most loving hug. "It's settled then. We'll only hire the best."
A wedding was on the way.
Mrs. Diamonds. It sounded perfect for them both.

Masterlist
You stared unblinkingly at the little blimp on your computer screen as it mocked you for your inability to concentrate. With a groan, you lifted your coffee mug, only to find it disappointingly empty. You rose from your place on the ground at the coffee table and manoeuvred with difficulty past the heaps of books and notes you had gathered around you for the past few days. Exam season had begun, and you were smack dab in the middle of it.
It was a late Friday night, and you were trying to get a grip on the complex theories that surrounded your literature studies, but you knew it would be futile without another big cup of joe. And so the trek to the kitchen began. You had to dodge your own mess, but this was easily overcome. When you got to the kitchen door, however, something bigger appeared in your way. A huge beer keg, a reminder of your roommate, blocked most of the entrance to the kitchen, and you groaned in frustration. You tried to move it, without success, so squeezing past it was the only option. You eased your way past the keg, cup still in hand and peered into the tiny kitchen. The floor was cold against your bare feet, so you quickly tiptoed to the coffee pot and put in a new load of beans.
While the beans were grinded down loudly, you quickly glanced inside the fridge. It was filled to the brim with ingredients that sustained your roommate’s protein filled meals and you removed a few questionable smelling cartons. You shook your head. Oh Thor…
Everything had been perfect at the start of the year. You had been appointed a roomy two bedroom apartment near campus, and when your supposed roommate Geraldine flunked out before the year had even started, you couldn´t help but count your lucky stars. But it wasn’t long before Thor appeared at the door of your apartment, cheerily explaining that he had been chosen as your new roommate. Thor was an exchange student at your college, coming from a small country he called Asgard. You figured you must have heard him wrong, because there wasn´t a map that included this land of Asgard.
The first time he had shown up at your door, you had been wearing the same pyjamas you were wearing now, flannel striped ones, and you had stared at the giant in front of you for about 10 seconds before you let him in. He had a jock-ey appearance, with his blond hair and the razor lines in his hair suited him strangely well. True enough to his appearance, he had become quite a star in your university’s football team, and he had rapidly adapted to college life. Sadly, this included late nights out partying and drinking, as he was doing again tonight.
You had no idea how he did it. He was balancing classes, football, other sports and partying like a champ, and it left you baffled how he managed to keep up his grades as well as a very healthy social life.
You two hadn’t had any unfortunate incidents where either of you had a partner over, and you prayed silently that he wouldn’t choose tonight to break that streak. It was rather surprising actually, that he hadn’t brought anyone over yet. Thor had been immensely popular due to his worthy plays in sports, and this came with unlimited attention from both men and women. And it wasn’t like you hadn’t noticed his ridiculously good looks. In fact, you hardly could get away from noticing them. Thor wasn’t terribly peculiar about his own nudity and privacy; he often slept with his bedroom door open, and was quite comfortable walking around the apartment in only a towel after he got out of the shower. You had peeked through his open bedroom door now and then, appreciating the soft rumble in his chest as he snored on peacefully and wondered in the back of your mind what it’d be like to lie in his arms.
Your revelry was interrupted by the soft beep that signalled the arrival of your coffee. You were just about to worm your way past the keg again when you heard loud singing coming from the hallway. It got louder and louder, and seemed to halt in front of your apartment door. They finished the chorus loudly, bellowing cheerily but rather tone deaf. You quickly squeezed past the keg while trying to hold your cup steady, and dashed back to the living room. On your way, you caught a glimpse of yourself in the hallway mirror, and you groaned inwardly at your dishevelled hair and wrinkled pyjamas. You didn’t try to fix it though, it was too late for that anyway, and you expected Thor wouldn’t stay up long anyway. You heard Thor turn his key in the lock, say a hearty goodbye to his mates and step inside the hallway.
You were walking back to your refuge amongst the many books and notes when Thor stepped through the hallway door. He smiled widely when he saw you were still up, and for a moment you could only stare at his deep blue eyes.
“Evening (y/n)! I didn’t think you’d still be up at this late hour,” he grinned. He offered you a hug with wide arms, and you accepted it with a sheepish smile. He hugged you tightly, his arms gently squeezing your shoulders and you returned the hug with one arm. You quickly inhaled his scent, willing your other arm to keep your coffee mug levelled.
“Well, you didn’t really try to keep it down in case I was asleep,” you said pointedly as the hug broke apart. You tried to hide a smile. “How are the guys?”
“They are very well… and very drunk,” Thor admitted with a chuckle. “Tony got so bashed he finally admitted how much he likes Pepper, and Steve and Bucky spend most of the night arguing over who can bench the most. They spend nearly ten minutes in an arm wrestling stalemate.”
“Surely you showed them who’s the top dog?” you asked.
“Nah, they were entertained, so why crush their spirits?” Thor responded with a chuckle.
You threw a glance at him. You could see he had been drinking, as his cheery blue eyes missed the calm they usually possessed, but he really could hold his drink as there was no further evidence of his partying. He was wearing a light grey shirt which clearly showed his fit form. His jeans and jacket were dark, and he quickly threw his jacket on a nearby chair. Then he disappeared towards the kitchen, but immediately returned a moment later.
“Where did the keg come from?” he said with wonder in his voice.
“Nat and Clint brought it over earlier for you,” you answered as you sat down on the ground again, nestling between the couch and the coffee table. “You should have asked the guys to help you lift it cause there is no way you can lift –.”
Your mouth fell open as you heard a soft scraping, followed by a soft groan of effort. Thor shuffled towards the empty corner of the living room with the keg in his arms, his face contorted in a grimace, but moving quite swiftly still. He set the keg down and leaned on it with a grin, giving you a proud wink.
You ducked back behind your book as you felt your cheeks turning red. You leaned back against the seat of the couch and tried to concentrate on the literary movements that influenced fiction in the nineteenth century, but you found yourself reading the same sentence over and over again.
Thor flung himself on the couch behind you and got comfortable, a deep hum of contentment rumbling from his chest. You forced yourself to keep your nose in your book, shifting slightly as your comfortable study nook was disturbed by your blonde roommate. He lifted his head and peered over your shoulder at the book you were studying so intently.
“Nat’s throwing a party this weekend up at the dance academy. You should come, (y/n),” he suggested after a moment, and you scoffed.
“I have my English lit exam on Monday, there’s no way I’ll have time.” There was a slightly panicky edge to your voice as sudden nerves kicked in. You put aside your book with a heavy sigh and grabbed your coffee mug with shaky hands.
“Professor Fury’s exams are notoriously difficult. I already flunked the first attempt, so I have to get a pass mark for the resit,” you said, this time masking the nervousness in your voice. “I do not want to have to retake his class.”
Thor nodded thoughtfully, propping his head up as he gazed at all your study materials. “Professor Fury sure knows how to make nasty tests, that’s true.”
“I just have to give it my all,” you said decidedly, clenching your mug tightly as you try to talk some confidence into your system. “I’ll just hole up here all weekend and it will be fine.”
Thor reached over your shoulder and gently took your left wrist in his hand. A light shiver ran down your spine as he turned your wrist so he could see the face of your slightly embarrassing Mickey Mouse watch. You grimaced when you saw it read a little over 3 a.m.
“You’ll be better off just going to sleep, (y/n). Start afresh tomorrow,” he muttered, letting his fingers linger on your skin for just a moment.
Feeling terribly flushed, you shook your head. “I just grabbed fresh coffee, I’ll still be up for a few hours.”
Thor peered into the full cup you were still holding and scoffed. He gently took your mug from your hand and set it down on the coffee table.
“You’re not pulling an all-nighter,” he said softly, but firmly.
“I’m not tired,” you said stubbornly.
“You need a break.”
“I need to know what drove Jonathan Smith to write his Gulliver’s Travels as a critique of human nature itself.”
“Fine, study until you are tired then,” he retorted with a well-timed yawn. You clenched your jaw tightly to keep your own yawn from showing. You grabbed your book again with an indignant huff, opened it at a random page and started reading. It wasn’t a chapter you had to study, but you weren’t really reading anyhow, so it didn’t matter much, you figured.
After a minute or so, you dared a glance over your shoulder at your roommate. Thor grinned at you knowingly, looking terribly comfortable and content as he simply observed you.
“You don’t have to stay up,” you suggested weakly. You felt terribly exposed under his patient gaze, for some reason.
“I’ll stay up just to make sure you get some sleep,” he said lightly.
With a sigh, you opened your book to the right page and tried to read again. For a few minutes, you scanned the page successfully, but your eyes started to become heavier with every word you read. You shook your head to clear it, rubbing your eyes tiredly, and managed to churn out another few minutes of successful reading. Behind you, you heard Thor’s breathing grow heavier, a soft rumble emanating from deep within his chest. After a long moment you found your eyes unfocussed and your attention diverted to his breathing rhythm.
You silently cursed yourself and forced yourself to at least finish the page you had been reading. Once you did, you stifled another yawn. Who were you kidding anyway? You softly closed your book and put it on one of the precarious piles you had built. You felt a soft pressure against your back and glanced back at your roommate. He was fast asleep, his arm gently leaning against your back.
He looked so terribly peaceful and content that it made you gulp down a lump in your throat. You slowly turned around so you faced him and gently put his arm back on the edge of the couch. Your fingers lingered on his soft skin, and you softly trailed the inside of his arm up to his hand. Laying your palm against his palm, you realised how big his hands actually were. Intertwining your fingers with his, you gently traced a his jawline with your other hand.
“Damn Thor…” you muttered quietly. You felt a strong urge to gently bury your fingers in his messy hair, but you didn’t want to wake him. You settled for tracing one of the razor lines in his hair.
You felt a slight twitch of his fingers as they tightened around yours, and you backed away from him with a soft gasp. You wanted to pull your hand away, but Thor had grasped them tightly. He blinked sleepily at you and gave you a sheepish smile.
“I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to –“ You began as you felt your cheeks burn red.
“What did you mean to do?” he asked quietly. You gazed deeply into his blue eyes for a moment, before tightly closing your eyes in embarrassment. Without a second thought, you pressed your lips against his, your heart hammering in your chest like it was about to jump out.
The second he took to respond seemed to last an eternity, but you felt your breath hitch in your throat when he gently cupped your face and pulled you into a deep kiss. You melted into the kiss, your free hand snaking to his neck and pulling him even closer. He sat up, never breaking the kiss and dragged you into his lap. He gently nibbled on your lower lip and you let out a soft moan of content.
You two broke apart and gazed at each other with wide smiles, and, in your case, flushed cheeks. Suddenly, you shut your eyes as you realized what this meant for the rest of the weekend.
Thor quickly searched your face for the source of your grimace, and you quickly pecked him on the lips.
“What’s wrong?” he asked softly, smiling slightly from your quick kiss. You saw his smile change to a grimace. “Did I read this wrong?” he said quickly.
“No! No, you’re perfect!” you blundered. “I mean – I’ve wanted to kiss you pretty much from the moment you arrived here! I just wanted –,” you floundered to find the right words to say.
Thor looked at you with soft and curious eyes and you took a moment to press the softest kiss you could manage to his lips. You basked in that moment of contentment, gently cupping his face as you pressed a kiss to the corner of his mouth and you felt his arms tightening around your waist. You captured his lips again, softly exploring what he had to offer and only breaking the kiss when you needed air to breathe.
“I just have the worst timing,” you groaned. “There’s not going to be any more studying this weekend, not after…” you motioned weakly between the two of you. “Not after this!”
“My dear,” Thor said deeply serious. “You will not flunk Fury’s class, not if I can help it. I’ll help you study all weekend if I have to.” He pressed a quick kiss to your temple, then reached to the couch’s back and grabbed a large red quilt that had been resting there. You faintly giggled as you remembered Thor putting it on as a cape once on a dare, but this time he wrapped it around you before pulling you to his chest.
“But for now, I think we can both use some sleep,”
You nuzzled your face into the crook of his neck, before mumbling quietly. “You do know we have two perfect beds in either of our rooms, right?”
You felt Thor chuckle deeply as he tightened his arms around you. “Yes, but I do not dare disturb the fortress of books you have built around this sofa. It might interfere with your studies and all, and we certainly wouldn’t want that.”
“No,” you repeated softly with a smile. “We wouldn’t want that…”

Lotus Breeze, chapters 10-14
AO3 - http://archiveofourown.org/works/10698618?view_full_work=true
10.
December is painfully long, and in the beginning of the finals, tests and other bustle Peridot wants to bite each person, who once sarcastically joke about the "hot night", because Lapis-motherfucker-Lazuli absolutely doesn't know how to calculate the strength of her bites, and hickey on her neck (size of a ping-pong ball) can't be hidden even with concealer.
But there was nothing between them, they aren't teenagers who have reached the forbidden fruit and who need hot nights after the first kiss, they are adults who perfectly understand, that everything has its time. But people need to mock around, as if this is not a university, but a kindergarten for over-grown children.
Peridot clenches teeth and breaks a rule in the palm, already the third for December, and this time not even her own, but Steven, who lent her a pencil case. Connie prepares Steven for examinations at the school, and Peridot sometimes wants to trade with Steven, so she was told about everything with a cup of coffee too. But in these bloody finals Period needs to study three times as much, and help Lapis-motherfucker-Lazuli, who has a chance to fly out of the university, like a cork from a bottle of cheap champagne.
"Do you want me to beat all of them?" Lapis smiles and looks at the people around in an extremely friendly way.
Peridot is silent and looks like a beaten puppy. Lapis takes her hand and pulls along the long corridor to the exit, presumably to steal her from the last lesson and roll in the snow, and then watch how funny Peridot will shake and grumble.
Peridot turns to the right, and Lapis understands, that even she will have to go to the lesson, because "shit, show the teacher your face, Lapis, for the first time in a semester."
"Hey, Lazuli, found herself a nerd so as not to fly out of the university for skipping?"
The girls from the parallel group laugh, and, even if Lapis likes Peridot's grumpy face, right now this "joke" seems to her to be foul. With obvious intentions to polish a couple of faces she takes a step forward, but Peridot tightly squeezes her hand and doesn't let her go.
"But she, unlike you, will not be expelled." Peridot says mockingly and pulls Lapis into the audience.
Lapis can't find the right words for a couple of minutes.
"I adore you, you know?" she says in the end, and Peridot wearily puts her head on Lapis’ shoulder, breathes a simple "yep" and asks to wake her up as soon as the teacher comes in.
There is a week until the end of the finals.
Two weeks until the New Year.
And Peridot really wants to go through all of this.
11.
When the exams are passed, the tests are marked, and Lapis is sure that she wasn't expelled for skipping, everything more or less subsides, running stops, and all that Peridot wants now it's to sit with a blanket on her shoulders, and play the console all day long.
Steven has the same opinion, he passed the exams with difficulty, and because of him, Connie nearly failed her own exams. She spent a lot of time to explain to him the material that she herself knew for a long time. But Connie has an acceptable high mark, so that her parents are happy, and Steven has acceptable normal mark, so as not to worry about re-taking and enjoy the atmosphere of the approaching holiday. New Year in three days, gifts to all are bought and securely hidden.
A ticket home, to dad and relatives, are also bought.
"So when do you have your bus?" Peridot asks carelessly, without taking her eyes off the game.
"Tomorrow night. I'll be home in the morning."
"And don't you regret leaving your girlfriend alone for a holiday?.."
"She is not ..." Steven lowers the controller and looks thoughtfully at the ceiling; his car on the console screen graphically crashes into a pillar and explodes. "Peridot, what does "dating" mean?"
Peridot throws up her eyebrows in surprise, but doesn't get distracted from the game. She looks at the screen for a couple of minutes, and then sighs and pauses.
"I don't think I can answer you. Are we dating with Lapis? We live together. This isn't called "dating". Ask Lapis, maybe she'll tell you.”
Lapis, as if feeling that they are talking about her, appears in the room, crawls under the Peridot's blanket, and, listening the indignant "Laaaaapis, I'm going to lose the game" conveniently gets on Peridot's knees. Steven has already used to this and no longer tries to close his eyes, dump somewhere or simply be embarrassed. It's normal.
Lapis arches her back like a cat, stretching, and Peridot with all her endurance and patience tries to concentrate on the game, although this is DAMN difficult, oh god.
"Lapis, what does "dating" mean?" Steven's tone sounds like he asks "where do the children come from?", and Lapis chuckles, but thinks about it.
“"Dating" doesn't necessarily mean "love". A lot of people are dating just for the sake of some benefit. They say false phrases, and when the benefits are received, they disappear. I would choose the expression "the desire to be together." When you think about a person all your free time, when you want to hug him and say how much you miss him when he is not around.”
Steven sighs helplessly, staring at the ceiling, and Lapis smiles encouragingly.
"Hey, you're only sixteen. Don't think about that."
Steven would be glad not to think, but he can't. These feelings are completely new for him, and it seems to him that nothing will help him, except for a frank conversation face to face, when he returns after the holidays.
And he will prepare for it. Maybe even will write a song with his dad's help.
"And do you really miss me that much?" asks Peridot, still not losing the game, and Lapis seemed to have been waiting for this question all this time.
"Of course," she whispers languorfully in her ear, and the lettering "Game Over" on the whole screen doesn't make anyone wait.
12.
On the evening of December 31 Peridot regrets only that they don't live in a big house with a fireplace, near which you could lie on a bear's skin, looking at the fire and cuddling. Although you can cuddle sitting on a spread out couch, in front of a laptop with New Year comedies. Champagne is poured on ordinary mugs, because of the lack of beautiful glasses, but who cares, when you want to laugh, dance and jump to the ceiling.
Pi-pi-pi, the clock rings, showing that the first of January has come.
Pi-pi-pi, comes SMS with congratulations and indication of the place of the hidden gift from Steven.
They laugh, climb under the bed and take out a large parcel with a postcard, in which is written only "Be happy, Happy New Year!", and in the parcel - a big terry turquoise plaid, incredibly soft, and with painted starfish.
Peridot says that this is clearly a hint, and immediately throws plaid on their shoulders, right in the middle of the room, on the floor, completely not caring about anything else.
"It's weird," Peridot says thoughtfully, stretching her legs. "In September, I hardly knew you, and now you are the first person I see in the new year."
"And the first one you kiss," Lapis giggles, and Peridot melts, when lips touch gently.
It's hot not because of a plaid or champagne.
“By the way, by the way ...” Peridot doesn't want to get out from under the plaid, but it's New Year, it is necessary to give gifts, it's time, and she, overcoming herself, rises and gives a hand to Lapis. "Let's go."
Peridot leads her to Steven's room, to the closet, asks to stand in front of it and opens the door, and a huge fluffy soft cat falls into Lapis' hands, made of plush, and very, very nice. Lapis looks surprised and joyful at the same time, and Peridot hastens to explain this choice of gift.
"Ah, well ... You like to hug something in a dream, and I'll be on conferences in January-February for a week... Probably. So, it'll be comfortable for you to sleep without me.”
Lapis buries her face in a furry cloth and smiles happily. She is really happy - in her childhood toys were a rarity, especially so big ... It's a great feeling.
"Thank you," she whispers, unable to hold the smile. "It's lovely, I like it very much."
The cat occupies a place in a hammock, in which no one is asleep, and even in a small room a toy almost as tall as Peridot looks perfect, as if it always was there. Lapis appreciates this beauty, and then squeezes Peridot in embraces, because, dammit, she doesn't know where to put all these emotions.
"Well, now it's my turn to give out presents."
Lapis draws a small bag from her closet and hands it to Peridot.
The inscription "This adorable little nerd belongs to Lapis Lazuli" on a long green T-shirt gives Peridot a laugh and a strange desire whether to strangle Lapis or to confess in love for her again. T-shirt is long almost to the knee, it's more like in what you can sleep in, and Peridot is sure that Lapis thought exactly about it.
This inscription is not for someone at the university to know the obvious thing. It is for her to know and remember it herself.
It's in Lapis' style – to tease, but do it goddamn cute.
And her grin is like a confirmation.
"Great. I'll wear it on holidays," Peridot snorts, and Lapis has a very cunning look.
"It is a holiday today. Go on."
Peridot sighs, but rather for the note, shows the tongue and hides in the bathroom, leaving there already in a T-shirt, and Lapis almost catch a heart attack. Too. Mother. Of. God. Cute.
Lapis gulps down the remains of champagne from a mug, snaps the light switch and takes a deep breath. This night, no matter how long it will be, she isn't going to sleep.
13.
Peridot always has very strange and uncomfortable feelings without her clothes on. It seems to her that there is nothing attractive and special in her body to wear something open or walk around the house just in shorts, and every look in the mirror reminds her, that she is a complete mediocrity and nothing of herself. Peridot always wears jeans, a shirt with long sleeves, and hates summer, when it's hot and you need to undress or you'll die.
Waking up next to Lapis, Peridot at first doesn't understand what this feeling is, why it's a bit cold and ohmygod where are the clothes, and then she remembers the night, giving out nothing but a helpless embarrassed squeak.
That was… awesome. And though the hickeys on the neck (god, Lapis loves to leave them) won't disappear for a week, it seems to Peridot that she didn't feel anything more wonderful in her life. And it's not even about the first sex - it was, of course, important, but Peridot thinks that she never trusted anyone as much as to allow someone to touch her everywhere. And no one before this didn't allow her to do the same thing (although she never wanted to touch anyone, but with Lapis-too-fucking-cool-Lazuli it was impossible not to think about this).
Lapis peacefully sleeps next to her, pulling the blanket to the very top of her head, and Peridot remembers her yesterday's whisper in her ear, thin cold fingers under the T-shirt, lips on her neck and shoulders, and buries her face in the pillow, helplessly and happily chuckling. After an endless amount of shit in her life, after months of depression, and then months of "to confess or not," life finally rewarded her for everything.
And Lapis' feelings were the best reward for Peridot for everything.
Peridot as quietly as possible gets out of bed, trying not to wake Lapis, finds her new T-shirt in the corner of the room, dresses and sits down at the computer. It's almost three o'clock in the afternoon, and Peridot knows, that her body would just die to sleep until the evening, and that the head doesn't hurt - it is necessary to wake up normally. Lapis, of course, can sleep like a ferret all day, and Peridot doesn't intend to wake her up.
Lapis wakes up herself, sweetly yawns and blindly stumbles across the bed, looking for something to pull to her and hug. She finds a big soft cat, which Peridot prudently left in her place, and Lapis for a while lies in an embrace with it, and then looks piteously at Peridot, who diligently pretends, that she doesn't notice anything, except the page of the website.
"How does it feel?" with a foxy smile asks Lapis, sitting down in bed, covering her naked chest with a blanket, knowing full well that it isn't necessary, and Peridot tries not to blush, although she can't control this process.
"It was... Not bad."
"Not bad? At "not bad" you don't ask "more" and don't say "I love you" every..."
“GODDAMMIT LAPIS!”
Lapis laughs and, wrapped in a blanket, approaches the nightmarishly confused Peridot, hugs her shoulders and leans to her ear. Peridot shivers.
"Wanna do it again?" Lapis whispers softly.
Peridot wants to die.
And to do it again.
14.
Holidays are lazy and delightful, but the real life reminds of itself, pulling Peridot to colloquiums and conferences almost from the bed and from Lapis' hands. “This is the fate of the best student of the faculty” everything Peridot can say, packing her belongings in a backpack and wildly regretting that she didn't begin to skip classes in the first week of the first year, so now don't suffer for the whole fucking faculty. Although, without her Lapis would be expelled from the university, which is extremely undesirable, especially now.
Lapis smiles and squeezes a soft cat, sadly realizing that for several days it will be a substitute, although very believable - with a funny displeased muzzle, shaggy and warm.
"Don't miss me." Peridot gives her a goodbye kiss, and the door behind her closes with some special dreary creak.
Lapis Lazuli simply can't stand being taken away from something or someone, to which she is attached. So it went from childhood, spent far beyond the city, with parents who treated her completely not as parents, friends, who appeared only in the summer when people come to a summer house on a barbecue, and her own loneliness. Lapis loved this loneliness, allowing not everyone to join her, and not daring not to let the parents, constantly invading her personal space.
"You can't communicate with these children," they said, and Lapis never saw the newly acquired and hard-to-find friends.
"You can't keep animals," and Lapis never saw the lop-eared red puppy brought home again.
God, she hated her life, in which she wasn't allowed to do something that her parents didn't like. Escape to the first university under the pretext of a good education seemed to be the only way out, and it worked, even somehow too well. And Lapis knows more than anyone else that if everything goes on well for a long time, then soon everything will definitely become lousy.
After the third missed call in skype from parents, messages to the mobile phone begin to pour, and Lapis frowns, hiding her face in the fluffy wool of a toy. She doesn't want to respond. But Lapis, being a person of adequate (more or less) understands, that if she doesn't respond to her parents, they, damn them, can just come and make a scandal.
She's twenty, mother of god, two, not fifteen, she thinks, and understands perfectly well how Connie lives now.
"I'm fine" she writes in response to the SMS, which are more like an interrogation, rather than normal messages from worried parents. Lapis climbs into a hammock and doesn't want them to get acquainted with Peridot one day. The ideal variant is ... Never. Yes, never is perfect. She doesn't want them to pour a bucket of shit onto Peridot, as they used to do with any person with whom Lapis had once been friends or tried to be together.
But the universe decides to turn everything inside out, and a few days later, on the threshold, tired and bored Peridot encounters a completely unfriendly looking woman, with piercing blue (like Lapis') eyes.
And Steven is here too, of course.

How he commutes to campus: Skateboarding or walking from the campus dorms
Everyday outfit: Snapback, loose hoodie or t-shirt, ripped jeans, vans or nike
Class schedule: Either it’s an 8 am or a 7 pm class. There's no in between.
At school 24/7 because of lab experiments, studying or simply just chilling with his friends
During classes:
Takes his seat by the very back of the lecture hall and close to the doors
Typically an earnest, hardworking student that takes decent notes
Always hands in his assignment on time; fulfills the minimum requirements
Occasionally uses his hoodie to hide himself when he decides to take a nap in between a 5-hour lecture
Has many acquaintances in class but usually is quiet unless he’s asked a question
Has the habit of twirling his pen/pencil
Sits comfortably in his seat and sometimes slouch when class gets boring
Wears glasses
ALWAYS have some sort of snack or drink on the table
Usually, doesn't use his electronics during class aides for academic purposes
ALWAYS the first to arrive and first to leave, rarely late or absent (if he’s late it’s most likely because of Jackson.)
During breaks:
Can be seen around the cafeteria or at the school's common area with his friends (the rest of got7)
Usually, has the signature New York Deli and Iced americano
If there's soup on the menu that day he’d definitely get that

Naps at the sleeping pods and wakes up prior 30 mins until his night classes
Usually, during early summer, he naps by the grass area bathed under the afternoon sun with his music plugged in
Works on homework and maybe study in the library if he’s not napping that day
Skateboards around campus and plays basketball if he's not studying or napping
During exam season:
You will not see this boy anywhere else besides his classes, the library or at his dorm
Studying becomes his middle name during exam season
Looks prepared but is actually quite stressed
Stressed but never forgets to have proper meals and decent amount of sleep
Tries to sleep early before exam days
Stubble Mark at the peak of exam season
Does his exams and stresses over if he’s gotten the questions right
Probably calculated his score in his brain after every exam
At the last day of exam he probably just hope he’d pass this semester
Sleeps straight after his last exams and wakes up a few days later all refreshed
Hella relieved when he actually scored good in his exams and has a smile plastered on his face for the rest of his day
How he handle on-campus admirers:
Usually just politely smiles and continues his way when he hears freshman gasping over him by the hallway
Doesn’t necessarily take it to heart when he hears news (from the other got7 members) about a particular girl or guy crushing on him
If he’s approached with a confession, he’d be very flattered but politely declines if he’s not interested
How you meet him:
You first meet Mark in your general education class for English writing
He’s the first person you see in the empty lecture hall and you just awkwardly say hi
He just nods back and continues to do whatever he was doing
You place yourself a few rows in front of him and gets ready for the lecture
You guys don’t interact with each other majority of the time besides hi and bye
You find him the second time in the Library typing away on his paper due for your English class
The very paper in which you have no clue how to start on because the topic is so broad
You sit next to him by the computer and tap on his shoulder
“Hi sorry to disturbing you, I’m in your English writing class and I really have no clue how to start on this paper. Would you mind helping me start off?”
“Pardon me?”
Mark takes out his earphone and you repeat yourself again
“Oh okay, let me just wrap up my paragraph and I’ll help you.”
This is how you actually started talking to Mark because of homework
You asked what Mark was writing his paper on and he explains it to you briefly
Eventually, with the help of Mark and the textbook, you set on a topic
You thank him and went off to do your own research and write up your paper that's due in a few weeks
For the following few weeks, you glue yourself to the library as you did your other assignments and wrote the paper
You’d see Mark appear a few times in the library and you guys just wave at each other
The day before the paper is due, you were in the library editing the final paragraph when someone taps you on the shoulder
“Hey, how's the paper coming along?”
It was Mark with a few science books in his arms
“It’s going okay, just editing the last paragraph. Yours?”
“I finished it a few days ago, just need to proofread it before handing it in tomorrow Can I sit here by the way?”
“Sure.”
Mark casually sits beside you as you have small talk here and there while the both of you got your work done
You stretched your back when you were finally done and gather your things.
Mark was deeply concentrated, calculating some equation while his eyes scanned the books
You tap him on the shoulder to get his attention
“Hey, I’m done. Thank you so much for helping me.”
“It’s no problem, glad you have your paper written up.”
He flashes his cute smile
“Good luck with your work, I have class so I gotta run.”
“Sure, see you around in English!”

A/N: Hi friends!! Here is chapter 2, sorry it took so long I changed my mind about 24253 times but today is my birthday so I finally had some me time to sit down and write something proper, yay! Hope you enjoy! xo
(You can also read it here if you prefer the format: http://archiveofourown.org/works/9100009/chapters/20970410)
~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Demelza, will you sit still?!" Caroline moaned.
"I'm sorry, I'm just so nervous. I've never been to a ball or anything like that, and especially not with a guy!"
"A very attractive one at that." Caroline added. "So that's exactly why you have to sit still while I do your hair. Demelza, stop twisting it! Seriously you're going to end up with alopecia or something."
"Alo-what?" asked Demelza, untangling her fingers from her fiery locks.
"Fuck." thought Caroline, reddening. She cleared her throat slightly. "Oh it's just this condition that you get where your hair thins and falls out due to stress or other factors." She tried to say casually, ignoring Demelza's scrutinising glance in the mirror.
She hadn't told Demelza she'd had a coffee with Dwight this week. Pretty much every day.
Because it wasn't a big deal.
He'd been studying for an exam so Caroline decided to help him as she had already finished hers and she found that she had learned some medical conditions in the process.
Demelza and her raised eyebrow were about to interrogate her when the buzzer rang.
"I'll get it!" Caroline jumped up and basically ran out of the door, hoping to avoid any further questions.
She pulled open the door expecting to see Verity or a delivery man but she was instead greeted by Ross Poldark. She blinked at him, standing there in his well-tailored Armani suit. It took her about 20 seconds to register that this was a terrible situation.
"Ross!" she squeaked.
"Caroline." he replied, smirking.
"You- you're over an hour early!"
"I know. I thought I might take Demelza out for a quick bite to eat. There's never enough food at these events." He explained.
Caroline simply blinked at him, and fidgeted nervously.
"You can't." she blurted out. "I mean... She isn't ready yet!" Her mind drifted to her red haired friend sitting in the bedroom in a dressing gown with only one winged eyeliner done and her hair only half up.
Ross laughed heartily and rolled his eyes. "Women."
Caroline chewed her bottom lip, unsure of what to do. In the end she invited him in and gave him the tv remote. "Ok, we'll try to be quick... in the meantime please watch whatever you'd like. Would you like some tea? Or a beer?"
Ross chuckled at her flustered disposition. "No, thank you, I'm fine."
Caroline returned to the room wearing a panicked expression. Demelza was singing gaily along to her Spotify playlist and didn't immediately notice Caroline's entrance.
She turned to her, her own face then morphing into the same panicked expression. "Caroline? What's happened?"
"Ross is here already! We have to get you ready!"
Without saying another word, Demelza quickly dipped her brush into her powder and smeared it on her face. Caroline hastily began pinning her hair in place. Within 20 minutes they were finished, impressed with the final product.
"There's no way he's not pulling you tonight." Caroline stated proudly.
Demelza reddened and began stuttering. "Oh no, I don't think so. I mean he's so... and I'm so..."
"Hush, Demelza, you are gorgeous! I'm so excited! This is going to be great, I'll wait up for you!" she squealed.
Demelza took a few deep breaths and gathered the courage to enter the living room. Caroline hung back, with her ear pressed to the wall. She heard Ross's audible gasp.
"Why, Demelza, look at you!" he beamed, studying her impressive figure in a perfectly fitted green dress.
Demelza's voice retreated into full Cornishness due to her nerves. "Oh why thank ye Ross, you be lookin' grand yourself." She wanted to die. Why couldn't she sound all sophisticated like Ross? Her accent had lost its strength after 3 years away from home and 3 years living with a young aristocrat from London, but now and then it peaked through, usually at the worst possible time.
"Thank you." He said, blushing. "Shall we go? I thought you might be hungry, and food runs out quickly at these events."
She smiled warmly. No man had ever shown her such consideration or kindness. Her stomach fluttered nervously. As did his.
"Wait!" shouted Caroline. "I want to get a photo!" she said excitedly, as if it were her own children who were attending the ball. She snapped a couple of quick photos and they left her flat, arms linked.
/
Roughly 5 hours, 22 glasses of wine and 9 dances later, Demelza and Ross found themselves in the botanical gardens a few metres away from the university’s main building, where most balls were held.
Ross smiled and sipped the remainder of his wine as he watched Demelza drunkenly spin in circles and sing some Cornish folk songs. He found himself in awe of her spirit and beauty; how perfectly her dressed complimented her hair and skin.
He was taken out of his daydream when she squealed and pointed to a row of flowers. “Ross, look! Cornflowers! They’re my favourite!” She bent down, pulled one out and tucked it in her hair, grinning.
Ross decided in that moment he had had enough of the distance between them and moved to close it, standing inches away from her. “Have you had a nice time?”
“The best! Oh, Ross, I can't think of a night in my entire life where I've had more fun than this.” she replied, her eyes shining.
He gazed down at her. She was so intriguing, her striking beauty mixed with a childlike faith in the world. He wondered whether he should kiss her.
“Ross? Is something wrong?” she asked, worried as to why he had been staring at her for so long.
He smiled. “No, nothing is wrong.” he said, his body inching closer to hers.
He searched her eyes for consent and when he found it, slowly lower his lips to hers; gentle and hesitant at first. Then Demelza reached her arms behind his neck to deepen the kiss, which he responded to eagerly, his hands roaming. Her hands tangled in his curls whereas his glided the small of her waist, then up over her breasts to cup her jaw.
Aware that they were in public, and not wanting things to go too fast, he regrettably mumbled against her lips: “I think we’d better go home now.”
/
Caroline attempted to concentrate on Grey’s Anatomy, which Dwight had persuaded her to watch, but kept on incessantly checking her phone. It was almost 2am and Demelza still wasn’t home. Was she okay? Did she go home with Ross? Caroline considered texting Dwight to ask, but didn’t want to risk waking him up because she knew he had been working today.
Just then, an inebriated Demelza came stumbling through the door.
Caroline rushed to meet her. “So, how was the ball?”
“Oh my god, Caroline, it was amazing! Ross is such a gentleman! He paid for everything, including my taxi! And he opened doors and pulled my chair out for me! Plus he is such a good dancer!” she gushed.
“Aw, that sounds nice! Now, for the important part: did anything happen?”
Demelza smiled shyly. “We kissed.”
Caroline screamed excitedly. “I knew it! I told you he wouldn’t be able to resist. Tongues?”
“Tongues.” she confirmed proudly.
Demelza had successfully changed into her pyjamas when Caroline came into her room with some tea and toast, and a glass of water for her inevitable hangover.
Demelza rammed half a slice into her mouth and chewed loudly. “Oh my god, Caroline, that reminds me! We saw Verity there and guess what? She is Ross’s cousin! She was a Poldark before she married Andrew. How weird is that?”
“Really? What a small world!”
Switching the lamp on, Demelza slurped her tea and inhaled the other half of her toast. She smiled inwardly as she noticed Caroline constantly checking her phone. “Have you heard from Dwight?” she asked casually.
Caroline’s gaze shot up, her cheeks becoming hot. “Dwight Enys? No… Why would I have heard from him?”
“Oh, shut up, Caroline!" she laughed. "I know you two have been talking. I saw you in the library the other day. Plus, Ross said all he’s done for the past week is talk about you and how cool you are.”
“Oh, really?” Her casual tone did not reflect the butterflies that fluttered in her stomach. She knew that she couldn’t let her relationship with Dwight get any further than friendship, because it could only end badly on both sides.
“I thought you would be more excited.” commented Demelza.
“You know why I can’t be excited.”
Demelza scrunched her mouth in understanding and lurched forward to give her a tight hug.
“So, when will you see Ross next?” she asked, changing the subject.
“Tomorrow, I hope.”
“Well, in that case, you better get some sleep and sober up.” Caroline laughed and switched off the lights for her. “Night!”
“Night! Love ya!”
Ten minutes later Caroline was brushing her teeth before bed when she heard her phone ping. She smiled as she saw who the text was from.
Dwight: Tell Demelza she owes me 20 quid for the t-shirt that Ross projectile vomited on as soon as he walked in the door! She can get me a new ear too while she’s at it, because Ross has talked mine off talking about her!! Did she mention anything about them being official? X
She spat out her toothpaste and replied embarrassingly quickly.
Caroline: Hahahaha! Poor you! No… they can’t possibly be official already, can they? They’ve only met like 4 times! But idk maybe you could say something to Ross? Demelza is way too shy to ask him out, even though I know she really likes him. How was work? X
Dwight: I definitely will then! It was fine thanks, got beat at chess 3 times by a 97 year old though! But my favourite lady shared her chocolates with me, which was sweet. How was your day? X”
Caroline: Awww but I thought I was your favourite lady? :( That’s cute though. My day was really boring, I spent most of it packing to go home. But I did get through 3 episodes of Grey’s Anatomy and I really like it so far! X
As soon as she had sent that text, she regretted it. She had meant it as a joke but now panicked over its risky undertone. She locked her phone, turned it over so she couldn’t see the screen and began removing her mascara to distract herself. After what she considered a reasonable amount of time, she peaked at her phone and opened the message. The message which Dwight had proof read 3 times before he plucked up the courage to press send.
Dwight: I’m sorry, you are my favourite lady! She’s my favourite  old lady. You’d love her she is so nice. When are you going home for Christmas? I’m glad you like it, I told you you would! I like to watch it and pretend that it counts as studying haha! X”
She grinned as reread the text when she got into bed, trying to think of a reply. She eventually fell asleep with the phone in her hand and a warm feeling in her stomach. Yet somewhere, in the back of her mind, something told her that something very, very bad was about to happen.
Not fandom feels
Today´s post is going to be a shortie because it´s going to be late in a few minutes and i want to sleep because… my finals start tomorrow. O.M.G.
The situation is different from my first finals. First of all, they were so new to me; i hadn´t done many exams in university so i didn´t know what to expect. Now i do, now i know (mostly) what they want from us. Secondly, my exams were divided into 5 in December and 5 in January. I had more time to study then than now so it can feel a little bit rushed. However, i feel the material i need to study is smaller than the material i was given in September… Also, if i pass everything now, i have all summer to relax, to read…
I´m pretty nervous, but i was so stressed this past month. Now i´m focused and i want to study and pass all the exams with all this knowledge and be in peace.
Also, i´m now reading a book that has reminded me how i take for granted my university and learning in particular. I find it so fun; however, sometimes i don´t want to study and i just want to watch a tv series. But reading this book has made me remember that there are millions of children who don´t have access to education, who aren´t permitted to go to school… and i´m here complaining when deep down i´m loving it!
I didn´t choose the book on purpose but blimey, it has motivated me for these two weeks that are left.
Now, i´m going to be calm because i´ve not only studied these past four days; i´ve been studying for these past four months, i´ve been paying attention in class and i´ve looked up everything i didn´t understand. If i get stressed, i won´t be able to concentrate. It´s much better to be focused on what i need to revise and that´s it.
One final thought; in my first finals, everyone else was so confident. Everyone was so sure that it was so easy; everyone was so proud of having studied for two days and knowing everything. That kind of let me down a little, because studying takes up a lot of time (like it should be). However, when we were given the marks, all of these people failed many subjects, so i shoudn´t have felt so wrong. These comments will happen again these two weeks so i´m going to try and not listen. That´s the motto.
May the 4th be with me! :)
