HD! dude, there is an article on Dio on the Jojo winter magazine, can you translate what it says? Like, sorry to be annoying, but it feels like exactly the kind of thing you'd love.
lol dw it's not annoying, it is exactly the kind of thing I'd love. I don't own the magazine and haven't found scans through search yet (if you've got access to the DIO pages feel free to send them).
Jojo Magazine's twitter teased a partial photo of one of those pages so I was able to read a little from it ... but it seems thin contentwise, like filler text meant to add interest to glossy Dio illustrations instead of the other way around. Here's some of it, translated:
Methodical:
Dio is meticulous in writing down things that are important to him. On the other hand, he almost forgets Avdol and Polnareff's names. He doesn't devote mental resources to things that don't matter, and this arrogance and rationality make him extremely appealing.
Another caption reads,
Maybe it was to avoid panic in an emergency, or maybe it was his desire to show off, but he also wrote his name on the coffin.
And I don't even know if I fully buy either of these things. I always liked Dio pretending to not remember someone's name as a very Dio-like insult, identical in tone to his back-turned posture when addressing others. Does he really not remember Avdol's name? Really?? He's just too busy with important things??? And I took Araki adding DIO's name to the coffin in SDC as him tipping off the reader what the crew had dredged from the depths of the Atlantic, rather than it having any in-universe rationalization. That second caption especially feels like the feature might just be magazine staff summarizing stuff from the series rather than revealing insight into Araki's writing process or Dio's character. But feel free to follow up if you find more from the article, it's always good to see new official Dio stuff.
(Also, there's an article earlier in the same Jojo mag volume where Araki talks more about writing villains which might be worth your time tracking down.)
Thanks for the ask!

ik Johnny's wheelchair doesn't show up in the manga a lot but GOD i wish we got his wheelchair with his figure I think it would be so cool.
Like Pol obviously got his, so they're fully capable of making wheelchairs! IT EVEN HAS A WORKING BREAK thats so nifty!!!
Tbh im genuinely considering buying the Polnareff figure to repaint his wheelchair and give it to Johnny, im sorry Pol </3 assuming their figures are about the same size that is. I'll have to check.
Surely someone's done that before already right? pleaaase share if so :]

Yknow. I feel like part of Okuyasu's insistence that he's 'dumb' might be like.......okay so I personally I look at him and see a dude with adhd, almost definitely unmedicated because almost every medication for that was Very Illegal in Japan until very recently. So that almost definitely has an affect on his grades in some way, and being the pragmatic kinda guy he is he probably takes school seriously enough that he's gotten it in his head that his grades are a reflection of his self-worth, if not his intelligence. Does he get better grades than Josuke? Probably. Does it still tear his self-esteem to shreds when he gets his homework back and see that he got so many questions wrong when he remembered to do it in the first place? Also probably. But this is delving into headcanon territory now so. Idk. Okuyasu isn't dumb! He's emotional and loud and maybe a smidge impulsive but he's a teenager and none of that exactly a measure of intelligence is it!!!
EXACTLY!!! And like, without a doubt he's got a pile of anxiety (specifically surrounding making decisions, this is canon to the text) that probably extends to many aspects of his life. He's suffered all kinds of abuse and lack of support for his entire life, and like - re: grades in school, he's shown to get low scores on at least one English test (that Koichi got a VASTLY lower score on, and this is like veryyyyy early in the story when he had only recently gone through everything with losing his brother and all that) but as you said, he's literally a fucking teenager and it's absurd to me that people can take what he's saying about being "dumb" at face value. Totally reads heavy ADHD to me and also due to his delinquent brother's influence I think initially he probably wouldn't have put very high value on day to day schoolwork but pragmatic is a fucking great word to describe him tbh!
