It's official. I have finished The Sunshine Court. I have so many things to say and yet have no idea what to possibly say. It was perfect. It was absolutely perfect and heartbreaking and gut wrenching and an insane emotional roller coaster and everything i could possibly have asked for from Nora. Like she really truly delivered and i'm so fucking INSANELY grateful she has shared this story with us after all these years. We do not deserve her.

I don't know if you still check my posts.

I don't know if you still look for me, check in on me.

But I just wanted to say thank you. You helped me pick up my pieces, and show me that I could be happy again. Last year was a rough one. I didn't know the extent of everything you were doing, and when I did find out, I was a bigger person and stayed compassionate to what you were going through, because it was similar to what I went through. I never judged you. But it hurt me to find out that right after I'd leave your bed, you bring her back in. That I was second without knowing it, even though I did, and we had conversations about it and you assured me that wasn't the case.

Did you feel guilty then? Did it sit in your stomach like rocks, weighing you down? Or were you fine, thinking you'd straighten it up before I found out and if you introduced me to your friends or family eventually, they'd never mention the suspicious timeline? I wonder what you would have written in your letter you talked about writing me.

You showed me I could enjoy my time with someone again. You showed me bars, restaurants, and music, that I still enjoy today. I still listen to the songs you've sent me, and sometimes catch myself thinking about being next to you with the windows down, the music loud, as we went on a little adventure. Everytime I visit one of these places, I'm conflicted about how to feel if I ever saw you sitting there, when I walked in.

I wanted to be there for you. I wanted to make you happy. I did what I could, even though we lived so far away from each other. I never minded driving, and sitting in rush hour traffic to see you for a night, or a weekend we had off together. We talked about trips, and escaping Texas. We talked about starting over. I do wonder what would have happened had I stuck around still. But I couldn't convince myself to be happy sitting second, like I have done so many times before unbeknownst to me.

You introduced me to an industry I didn't know about, and I was admittedly influenced by the work you did, and wanted to see what it was like myself. I landed in a different sector but found a job that I do find some enjoyment in, although the hours and rotating shifts are a lot. Oh yeah, we rotate shifts now, not as frequent as you did though.

But now I find myself in a better spot. I hope you do too. I'm happy now. I got promoted, I'm going back to school for something that truly interests me. I'm working on getting out of my current living situation. I have a relationship that feels really healthy and stable.

But thank you. For everything.

I feel like we don’t talk about the fact that in canon the reason ghosts are destroyed by water is because water is constantly changing and never confined to one form, while ghosts are the opposite: unable to change, always remaining the way they were when they died. Genuinely one of ninjago’s best worldbuilding moments imo and also a fantastic way to look at ghosts. Of course you’re going to be angry if you’ve died and can’t move on from the moment of your death and the very thing that’s able to destroy you being the embodiment of change… A++ concept

the thing about bakugou and attraction is that he's not shallow and i don't think he has a type. like, he considers the value people have—who they are, what their strengths are, their passions, their goals, their mindset—and i think those are the most defining factors for him when it comes to 'liking' someone.

and yeah, he's a man. he has initial and instant attractions to people. but i think they're fleeting and go as quick as they come. so i think he doesn't pay much attention to physical appearance, per se, when it comes to deciding who he wants to give his time to.

but—when he does decide that you are the person he wants to give his time to, everything about you is suddenly so attractive.

THE RULES that I have been going off of, for everyone voting as if this were a fight to the death:

this is a regular episode of Danny Phantom

the cats are loose in Amity Park, this is not an arena or anything.

there are a lot of cats but they aren't trying to kill Danny in particular or are unrealistically aggressive, they are just cats, a good chunk of them being kittens or unable to fight, probably confused as to where they've been transported to

they act like normal feral cats do (there is a difference between ferals & strays). they are not smarter (they think cars are animals) or trained any more than in canon, which does not include fighting humans with technology that can trap cats (it is canon that they cannot fight this & do not train to fight this)

the cats do not have special superpowers that can oneshot Danny, because this is not canon in Warriors. they are literally just animal ghosts. i think they have prophetic visions about the clans, but I don't see how this helps them escape Danny's C&R program as it didn't help the last time

Danny has all of his canon powers

Danny has all of his "training" & practice from canon

Danny has all of the canon Fenton tech, maybe even ghost proof live traps because let's be real, Maddie & Jack would immediately make a bunch if there was a ghost cat problem

Danny would win, but it would take him months to catch all of them & he would suffer the whole time

he's a dog person too so he wouldn't know how to handle them. Sam would be able to handle them but as soon as any of them start to warm up to Danny (probably like Pinestar or another warrior-turned-kittypet) Cujo would show up & they'd all scatter

except for Swiftpaw, he'd probably fight Cujo, traumatizing him & making it impossible for him to get along with cats in the future, obviously making the situation worse

I occasionally see posts/get messages about the various harry potter references in the bright sessions, etc. and I've gotten a bunch of new followers recently so just so any new/younger listeners of my shows know:

jk rowling is a terrible transphobe whom I hold zero respect for and I haven't given a dime of my money to her since she revealed who she truly is. I want the whole bright universe to be a safe space for trans people (including the trans folks in our cast and crew!) and if I could go back and remove those references, I would. but I can't! harry potter was an extremely significant part of my life until...well, until it became very clear who she really was. it makes me so sad to think that folks might be finding TBS now and get thrown out of the story by these references, but just know that the people who made the show do not stand by jk, and that in many ways, the show is a product of its time.

i just keep thinking about harley getting to know the truth about why peter is alone and finding out why people don't remember him and for a moment thinking he's glad he got to meet him after everything went down and immediately feel guilt and shame because its not fair peter went through so much pain and had to leave everyone he knew behind but,,,, just thinking about meeting each other before and getting to know peter and then completely forget him makes his feel sick

The parallel between Sokka and Tenzin as their fathers' sons.

Sokka, left at 13 as his father and all the other men head off to war. Hakoda tells him "being a man is knowing where he's needed the most" and he needs to protect his sister, his home.

Tenzin is the second airbender. He is also half water tribe, he's a man. When Aang dies, he will be the last airbender. He understands what he needs to do.

Untold amount of pressure and responsibility have been thrust upon them by their fathers. Though, I believe it is not all intentional, but the unfortunate circumstance of being the fathers of sons who take responsibility incredibly seriously.

In Sokka's case, "protect your sister" is a vague instruction. It was meant to give him purpose, to help him feel okay about being left behind, He is too young for war, his father does not want to bring his child to slaughter. But Sokka will die with purpose. He will train the children of his tribe so they will be protected, he will face a fire nation ship until his last breath. He cannot go to war, but Hakoda did not see that war was all around them. In trying to give Sokka purpose, Hakoda put their world on his shoulders.

We do not get to see Aang be a father (in the TV shows), but we know he had hopes for the future. All his children were air nomads, and the air acolytes brought his culture back, but Tenzin could bend. This part of their culture is one ONLY they share. I do not think Aang would hide this, he is joyous that he gets to share his culture. When he feels respected, he always is, he taught the air acolytes after all. Off handedly, he could say, "I'm hopeful for a future where there are lots more air benders," and that, which feels mostly innocuous to him, is the nail in the coffin of Tenzin's fate. He is Avatar Aang's son, and the future of the air benders. It would not matter that Aang meant a future in generations. Tenzin sees the responsibility and it's his. He is his father's only air bending child, he knows what he needs to do.

Being a parent is not understanding the way the things you say harm your children. Even those things that feel innocuous in the moment can be life altering. Especially the more the child respects the parent. Purpose and Hope for those with a broader perspective, can be death sentences to a life that could have been when expressed to those who idolize the former.
