i keep imagining the statehouse as this huge house in the middle of nowhere. the entire property is in the middle of a grassland—yellow-green grass that reaches up to your knees kind of grassland. the plains. and there's a fenced off backyard behind the statehouse, but not more than a few hundred feet after it there's a forest—a temperate deciduous forest, like you find in the eastern U.S., with a creek a little ways in. venture deeper and you'll find a river. there's a mountain backdrop as well, and you know they're huge mountains, but they're so far away they appear a little small.

the house itself is... queen anne meets folk victorian-ish. shades of golden brown and white. there's a paved road leading up to it and a parking lot off to the side, about the size of a decently sized high school parking lot. and the road ends at the house. if you keep driving the other way, though, you eventually make it to town. a fairly urban city, with your standard fast food joints and stores and gas stations and whatnot. it's not the heart of a metropolis, not the suburban edges of it, but a decently populated urban city with a freeway or two running through it. somehow, somewhere, after a bit of an elevation drop maybe, absolutely rural plains gives way to the city. blink and you'll miss it, except no matter what you do, you'll always miss it.

the thing is, i keep imagining the statehouse and the land surrounding it as this little pocket in time and space, that exists on vaguely the same line as where central time meets eastern. the states are immortal, and that's practically magic, so why can't the statehouse be magic as well?

Nothing will ever make me break out into goosebumps of fear faster than anything involving ghosts who haunt places and who had been Nuns during their lives.

There's just something so incredibly unnerving about something that's supposed to be holy in nature and symbolic for God in some way, becoming something so incredibly evil and hostile. Like I can deal with ghosts and abandoned buildings and stories involving serial killers or unsolved cold cases or horrific urban legends, but as soon as anything religious enters the playing field I'm like fucking out bruh.

More than a decade after its release, the comic book movie Dredd has gone from box-office disappointment to a cult classic. The movie's star has, in part, risen because of the rise of its star, Karl Urban, who has gone on to star in the rebooted Star Trek film series, along with the popular streaming series The Boys. But when "Dredd" came out in 2012, it was notable mainly for being a reboot itself (of 1995's Sylvester Stallone vehicle Judge Dredd). At the time of Dredd's release, Urban spoke about his discussions with the movie's producer, writer, and director, and how excited he was about doing the movie.

Dredd is currently streaming on Netflix and available on DVD, Blu-Ray, and most digital platforms.

The whole “Not Just Bikes” drama is so weird rn. I feel like if any group should be able to have nuance in conversation it should be urbanism activists, but all sides of this (including NJB) are just a clusterfuck

About how I read:

I believe that divination is not just getting to know a future set in stone, but that it can be a way to make sense of what feels bigger than us, and even learn how to play with it.

Your reading won't say “this is definitely going to happen to you”; it'll be more along the lines of understanding your circumstances and what will most probably happen if you keep on that path, or choose another one, and how to go about it. It's all about freewill and helping get some perspective and the power to accept or change it.

With that said, I will also never tell you that “you control your reality 100%”, “everything in your life is manifested by your thoughts”, or similar bullshit. We don't live in a perfect world with a fair socioeconomical system where everyone has the same opportunities, and such harmful and ableist ideas are not welcome in this space.
