So… I think my next door neighbor is dead.

Warning: death talk

Since I bought my house a few years ago, my next door neighbor has been just about the worst thing ever. Doesn’t do shit with his yard, leaves his poor dog outside all the time (and who barks all. the. time.), etc. He’s old, single, a hermit mostly. Just kind of an awful situation, and because he doesn’t clean (and I’ve heard he’s a hoarder), his house is filthy and I’ve developed a close relationship with my exterminators because of his mess. It’s really been kind of a nightmare, but he’s clearly got mental health issues (and he’s not so healthy looking physically, either) and I’ve tried to be patient, but the way he treats his poor dog makes too much sympathy difficult.

Anyway… Saturday night there was a knock on my door. It was a cop, asking if I knew my neighbor, if I’d seen him recently, etc. Since he is such a shut-in, it’s hard to tell how long it’s been since I’ve seen him but I realized I hadn’t heard his dog barking in days. The cop said someone had been trying to get a hold of him via phone for several days and hadn’t heard back. Car is in the driveway, I can see his dining room light has been on for days, including all through the nights, newspapers are piling up on his front porch.

The cop was young and I could tell he really didn’t want to force entry. The fact that my neighbor is basically a hermit gave him enough reason to not force entry this weekend. But nothing has changed. That light has been burning in his house, no dog barking, car still in the driveway. I’m convinced he’s dead in there.

So tonight I’m going to call the police again and say that nothing has changed, and since I’ve seen no sign of that dog, I’m afraid she’s in that house with him, starving to death if she hasn’t already.

It’s so creepy you guys. To know that that might be happening (or has happened) right next door to me. That his body could be in there. The light from his dining room that I can see from my dining room, with his curtain open just enough that I can kind of see in… it’s spooky as shit and depressing as hell.

So anyway, how’s that for a Monday morning story?

Jason, cracking open one eye: "Aww, are you concerned about me?"

Damian: "Shut up. The only thing I'm concerned about is our family's reputation after your public wipeout on that stupid motorcycle."

Jason:

Damian: "Are you still awake?" *kicks him* "Todd?"

Jason, grinning: "You said our family."

Damian, furious: "I didn't. You've lost more brain cells than you could afford."

Jason: "Wait 'till Tim hears, I think he'll want a group hug. Bruce is probably going to get emotionally constipated. Dickie would probably cry--"

Damian, panicking as he hears the Batmobile get closer: "Stop. Do not tell him--"

Jason: "You better erase every single fucking video of me crashing then."

Damian: "You have a deal."

Tuna, i don't know HOW you picked this song but it's literally one of the most heart wrenching things on dbhc Tango's playlist so. congratulations. i think <3 I think I said ages ago in some tags that Tango was about to get the dbhc Etho Angst treatment, and i got very quickly distracted/consumed by Destruction and Doc/Xisuma related Angst, but boy oh boy am i glad i get to finally hit on a little bit of this poor man's trauma LDFKJGDFG

I'l try to keep this brief but. I'm insane enough about the hermitcraft season 8 finale as is, and even more than that i'm crazy enough about Tango's hermitcraft season 8 finale, and then on top of all that, you're telling me a jaded, bitter android whose characterizing moments of anger and failure are carried on his sleeve is the same android who tried to be the hero and save his friends, only to let an oversight be the reason he not only fails, but destroys his body in the process???? ?? ? A machine who isn't supposed to make oversight mistakes???? A machine who somehow let a rabbit be the reason he failed ? ? ??? I dont know what you expected from me other than to be extremely unwell about him and this whole arc in general

The base version of this song is just as good, but something about the piano version gets the vibes just right for these scenes... Something about the waltz-style cheeriness of the vocals contrasting to how horrific the lyrics and situation actually are. Idk man i'm fine don't look at me

Neo-nazi piece of shit Teddy von Nukem (his legal name lmao), who featured in some of the viral photos from the tiki torch march in Charlottesville, killed himself at age 35, a day before his trial for drug trafficking was set to begin.

He was also one of the attackers in the brutal beating of DeAndre Harris in Charlottesville the next day, but was never charged for that, despite being identified in video. But anyway, he’s dead now lol. Good riddance to bad rubbish. [link]

He cuts off all but one of my limbs #I am forced to crawl around in a blood and corpse pit until the game tells me 'give up idiot'. #I reset. I am mauled by dogs again. I realize this is not for me but I am intrigued enough to go home and watch some playthroughs #And WOW what an interesting game it is! I really do appreciate games that blend their design philosophy with the theme it wants to set #This is a game about fear and hunger. And persevering. And penis (my god is there a lot of penis) #I recommend this to people who like extremely challenging games and can handle the many *content warnings* within this series #If the idea of Bloodborne/eldenring and undertale having a little RPG maker baby sounds appealing to you - give it a shot #It's made by ONE GUY and it's a great horror game.
