You know I never understood the hate for the Brown in Yang's outfits? It allows for her hair and eyes to pop more, and helps keep her color palette from being just...straight yellow. The colors in RWBY have always been very vibrant (even in Atlas, although not as much) so having Yang wear a neutral tone like brown keeps her brighter colors from overtaking the screen in a way. Plus, it makes her purple bandana stand out more obviously, since its a single cool color mixed in with warm ones.
Warmth is kinda Yang's thing so it makes sense that her outfit would reflect that.
and yeah, with those amazing eyes of her and that mass of golden hair, anything less neutral would distract from them.
It's not like she's lacking color anyway, orange fingerless gloves, bright gold arm and Ember Celica.
And tbh I feel like her current outfit really suits who she is. She's practical and is most likely the team's go to repair person and pilot when Maria isn't around.
Tan coveralls, sensible boots and a bomber jacket are PERFECT representations of her along with that little purple bandanna.

I got this idea, from a long time ago when I watched The Flash and Tinkerbell (I watched when I was little). But what if there was this supervillain whenever he touches two gods or superheroes, he swaps their powers, and he ends up swapping Nezha and Yang Jian’s powers, So Nezha gets Yang Jian’s third eye. And Mr. Tang’s powers get Ao Bing’s powers. Mei gets Nezha’s powers. Red Son gets MK’s powers. MK gets Mei’s powers. Ao Bing gets Macaque’s powers.
What if it is swapped again and Mei gets Macaque’s powers. Or Ao Bing gets Mr. Tang’s powers?
How do you think it would go? Would they have to train each other and teach each other to use their powers? How would they react?
It would be a huge chaos of events, that much I can say!
Nezha with Third Eye: would be constantly overstimulated by the information he gets visually, including all the "truth seeing" power that comes with the Third Eye. Resorts to wearing a bandana or patch over his forehead to "quiet" the eye.
Mr Tang with Ao Bing's Ice powers: Honestly? He'd use his new power to put ice in his drinks. He isn't bothered that much, unless his "cicada" part of him gets sleepy in cold weather.
Mei with Nezha's fire: She's a natural! She's already got a hang of fire! If she had Macaque's shadows though? She'd get very scared. She knows what it feels like to be swallowed by the Lantern, and it gives her bad memories.
Red Son with MK's powers: This would mean Red Son has the ability to lift the staff? And all that implies? Red turns himself into a monkey (a small tamarin) cus of his poor understanding of the 72 Transformations and freaks out.
MK with Mei's dragon powers: Probably turns himself into a noodley dragon form whilst trying to get a hold of his new powers. Accidentally sets the restaurant on fire.
Ao Bing with Macaque's shadows: Immediately falls into a shadow on accident while walking down the stairs. If Ao Bing were to get Mr Tang's light powers, than he'd get startled and try to hide somewhere dark. The divine light scares and fascinates him, like a snake under a heat-lamp.
It would be very difficult for the power's owners to teach the others how to use them. Macaque would understand enough magic theory to help the kids out with shadow and light magic, but his advice on Fire powers is to just stay away from flammable materials.

@ohnoitstbskyen’s “Nine Essays About Characters That Matter” video literally struck me through the heart with a dagger. The way it’s presented as stories told by people of their blorbos with mister the big skyen commenting in between is perfect. So perfect i’ve been inspired to write a small essay about my Characters That Matter, if this is just rambling into the wind or not, i just want to express my thought in this form.
It’s Yang, it’s Yang, of course it’s Yang how could it not be Yang Xiao Long. Yang as a character - and rwby as a whole literally flashbanged my entire humanity in june of 2022.
Lots of people love Yang, how couldn’t you. Maybe you relate with her backstory in relation to Ruby, how she was forced to grow up and play parent for Ruby because both their mom’s fumbled the bag. Maybe you’re someone who’s lost a limb or otherwise disabled and find triumph in how she fights on despite her disability. For me, it’s neither - what gets me going about her is her personality, particularly in early volumes. She’s this larger than life, fun loving person who’s the embodiment of warm fire who brings you in and is your friend. Which is exactly the kind of standard i try to live up to. Another aspect of this side of her i love is the protector aspect she inhabits, she was Ruby’s protector, as a huntress she’s everyone’s protector. I want to be her in every way imaginable.
The “Rule of Cool” in character designs, which is that if something is cool enough it deserves to exist is so very alive to me, and gosh is Yang cool. she’s cocky, her personality and silhouette is so big and massive and imposing. “let’s kiss and make up then you’ll learn” is such a good lyric for her from the song about her “i burn”. These attributes of her and the rule of cool are all things that i identify with myself. I’m also massive and cocky and i think i’m awesome but i am literally Ivern in red flannel. Yang does the whole damn thing, looks the part, saves the day sometimes, has an emotional background and gets bitches all while being so so human.
To continue on with Yang’s cool factor i want to touch on her design as a whole. It’s perfect, that’s just a fact. My favorite part about her is her hair. Big wavy hair that gives her a massive anchor in her design as well as giving her a unique silhouette compared to other characters in the show. Secondly her outfits she wears in different volumes are always the best. Her outfits are practical, and look like they totally belong to a biker girl who beats the shit out of you. Even down to her more finite details, like the purple bandana around her knee which relates to her relationship with Blake.
A tertiary point about yang that’s fundamental in *why* i like her so much is how she is this strong, imposing and daunting character, but she’s still presented as feminine. The way that rwby as a show presents Yang as a whole and tows a line between allowing Yang to be a masculine aligned berserker while not falling on “butch” tropes is so important to me. Yang is almost an entire new breed of femininity, one that i align with a lot.
Yang is so very much a part of me, But so is this fucking asshole.
POWER SWEEEEEEEEP i love Power for so many reasons that are so painfully simple.
Her backstory or storyline isn’t a tragedy like Yang or even Denji. Her backstory is just she was a lonely freak and found a cat. It’s so simple, yet i relate to it in my own way. And it’s so important to me to relate to a character in my own way. Never in my life have i found a character i related to, not once. And power gets me somewhat close to that feeling we all deserve.
Power borrows from the “Rule of Cool” less than yang, but is still great from a design wise on her own. When i first saw her in the intro i figured she was going to be a typical boring shonen-girl-type, but i was immediately proved wrong. Her human form design is so simple but portrays so much about her. The devil horns constantly present in her design are testament to her troublemaker attitude, which are contrasted by the business shirt and tie that she shares with her peers in public safety. **Spoilers for the ending of CSM part 1** When she assumes her devil form upon coming back from getting bang’d she’s a crazy looking monster, similar to kindred (who i also love dearly). This monstrous form she assumes for only a few pages are easily my favorite moment in chainsaw man as a whole. There’s just something right about this asshole getting to be a monster for like 10 min and giving up her life to save her state appointed brother
Power is, for all intensive purpose, a comedic relief character - in a show about horrible miserable topics with a messed up sense of humor, which is another trait i find relatable, i’m also the comedic relief girl.
Thankfully Power isn’t *just* her awful traits that make her hilarious and ridiculous. She’s a dutiful protector, of Meowy and of Denji in later chapters. She’s shown to have deep seeded fears in her character, her submission to makima, her impairing fear of the dark after darkness devil. These additions into her silly persona make her a well rounded, entertaining and fun character.
These two characters aren’t related at all, besides both being from shonens. As personality’s, their both big, loud and powerful which is the key element that makes me so attuned to them. The shows i watched in 2022, and subsequently become obsessed and consumed by shaped me as a person completely. And having characters for the first time in my life i saw myself in has been a liberating experience. I truly understand what TB Skyen meant when he said: “sometimes characters are important”.

“Oh, hey! Visitors!” a voice called from the hall beyond. A moment later, a man popped up from the top of the mild incline, wearing long orange robes stained with ink at the sleeves, his hair long and tied in something that resembled a braid but loose in too many places to make out where the locks were crossed anymore. He wore a red bandana around his forehead, though its knot was lost underneath waves of black locks. His belt was decorated with a piece of jade shaped like half a yin yang, further decorated by a long tassel.
I can feel the quality of my execution slowly degrading. Hopefully it'll be better for future days. It probably has something to do with the fact that I don't typically draw people that look older than their early twenties, much less men. With Wukong and Macaque, they have these nifty sideburns that cover their jaw while Nezha is straight up eternally 12, so I've been able to get away with this much so far.
Two days of Role Reversal AU in a row? Yes. Was it intentional? No, but does the chain end here? Whether it's fortunate or not depends on how you see it, but no. Just one more day, though, then back to canon adjacent art.... for a bit before the au art resumes because that's fun.

Yang's Design
This is just an appreciation post of our Golden Girl's design that stems from this longer meta I wrote on her. As a result, some concepts and ideas are taken and repeated from there.
GOLDILOCKS AND THE 3 BEARS IN 1 CHARACTER
Yang's design manages to take a lot of symbolism from her fairy tale and to represent it through clever aesthetic choices.
The simpler one to notice is the dychotomy between Goldilocks and the Bears:
Yang's most recognizable feature is her long blond hair (Goldilocks)
Yang usually wears brown outfits (The Bears and especially the Baby Bear)
She is both Goldilocks and the Baby Bear, so her looks reference both characters. At the same time, though, there are other elements of her story that find their way into Yang's appearance. I am talking about the too hot, too cold and just right. Let's consider these concept arts:
As you can see, they are not that much different from the final product. However, they are fun to read as explorations of the concept of hot/cold/just right. How? Through the use of colors, of course:
red > hot
blue > cold
purple > (red + blue) > just right
You notice how in these drafts there is a blue/green, which is absent from Yang's final design? I think it was inspired by the idea of too cold.
After all, Yang is meant to be unbalanced and asymmetrical:
Scathing eyes ask that we be symmetrical, one sided and easily processed. Yet every misshapen spark's unseen beauty is greater than its would be judgement.
Which means she is not a perfect mix of hot and cold. She is more on the hot side, rather than the cold. So, her color scheme is full of warm colors (yellow and orange mostly). Still, a little bit of ice blue/green is either in her bandana or her scarf to show there is some cold in her.
Another interesting detail in these concept arts is that she wears white and black, aka Weiss and Blake's colors. To be specific, she has a lot of white in the initial drafts and her bandana is black. It is probably something done to show that the girls are all intertwined, in a way. However, the white is toned down in the final design and the bandana becomes purple. Similarly, the cold/green is gone. Why so?
They probably (or at least it is fun to think so) chose to focus on the just right aka the purple (red + blue). In this way they have managed to convey all the previous ideas in a more concise way:
Yang is unbalanced, so she wears a lot of warm colors and a single cold color aka purple, which symbolizes her pursue of the just right
Purple replaces black as Blake's color, which adds to the idea Blake is Yang's just right
At the same time, isn't it interesting Yang's eyes are purple/violet in all the preparatory drafts? As people noticed, they are a mix of Raven and Tai's eyes, which makes Yang the just right of their hot and cold relationship.
Still, when Yang uses Burn her eyes become red...
HOT, HOTTER, THE HOTTEST
You're standing too close to a flame that's burning
Hotter than the sun in the middle of July
Sending out your army, but you still can't win
Listen up, silly boy, 'cause I'm gonna tell you why
I burn!
Can't hold me now
And you're not stopping me
I burn!
Swing all you want
Like a fever I will take you down
Burn is nothing, but a metaphorical representation of the too hot of Yang's fairy tale. The moment she uses it, she fires up and her eyes go from the just right (purple) to the red (hot).
This reading makes sense in the context of Yang being built on the idea of "hot" and all its different meanings: she is hot in the sense of beautiful, she is hot in the sense of hot-blooded and she is the too hot in the sense of asymmetrical.
These concepts emerge also from Ember Celica:
They look like jewels, so hot
They turn into gauntlets, so even hotter
Yang loses one when she loses her arm, so they become asymmetrical > the hottest aka too hot
In general, Yang's hot design also plays homage to her name of Sunny Little Dragon and makes her look like a burning candle:
Burning the candle at both ends.
Which leads us to the next point of this analysis. Puns, sayings and words in general are fucking important for Yang's character.
PUNS PUNS PUNS!
Ren: It's okay to be afraid, you know. You don't always have to hide it with a joke.
Yang is the pun-girl par excellence, so it is not really a surprise that jokes and wordplay are so important in her story. This is true for her design, as well. Some examples:
She loses a hand because she is in need of a hand > she must learn to accept her own vulnerability and fragility
Her emblem is a burning heart she wears on her chest because she wears her heart on her sleeve. This means superficially she openly shows her anger and on a deeper level that she must make herself vulnerable
She is linked to the sun, so she is the only one of her teammates to wear sunglasses
Her hair catches fire because she is hot-headed
She is triggered by people touching her hair because she has a hair-trigger temper
Her eyes turn red when angry because she literally sees red
So, there are really a lot of ideas and jokes intertwined in Yang. Still, there is still another one, which is a fave:
Reign supreme?
In your dreams
You'll never make me bow
Kick my ass?
I'm world-class
And Super Saiyan now
YANG, THE SHONEN PROTAGONIST
Yang's looks and powers make her similar to a Dragonball's Super Sayan, like she herself sings to us. This is so for 2 reasons:
sayans grow stronger when angry, just like Yang's semblance is partly activated by her fury
sayans grow stronger when they get hurt and then cured, which is the idea behind Burn in a nutshell
Ruby: Don't worry! With each hit she gets stronger, and she uses that energy to fight back! That's what makes her special.
Moreover, Yang looks very similar to a super sayan whenever she uses Burn with the only difference that Super Sayans' eyes turn blue, while hers become red.
The reason of these similarities is that Yang is meant to deconstruct and reconstruct the idea behind these kinds of characters. After all, an important part of her development is this:
Taiyang: But you gotta keep your emotions in check. Keep a level head, and think before you act. Your Semblance is a great fallback, but you can't let yourself rely on it. It won't always save you.
She must learn to cool down and to control her anger. In this way she can fight more effectively and with more precise strikes. Maybe this is why in Mistral she seems to leave her shonen/comic book inspiration behind and gains some westerns undertones:

In Vale, she is introduced as a powerful shonen/comic fighter, a mix among Goku, Human Torch and Ghost Rider:
Human Torch can't mess with me
Johnny Blaze: Suspect B
In Mistral Bumblebee turns into her loyal horse and she becomes a cow-girl who fighs bandits in inns. Classic western imagery.
In a sense, you can see it like this:
Vale > body - Yang affirms herself as an incredible powerful fighter, but she has to go through a journey of self-discovery to grow even stronger
Mistral > mind - Yang has to become smarter, so that she can see others and herself better
I guess that Vacuo will be heart > the result of cooling down is that she will be able to unlock and solve those feelings she usually represses behind her temper, her anger and her funny facade.
Once this happens, I am sure these new found emotions will power her up once again. She may even reconstruct her Super-Sayan persona: she will grow stronger because of all her feelings and not just anger. By keeping her anger under control she will learn to truly see her own heart and to really find strength in it.
Who knows? Maybe by that point Burn will evolve and gain some new effect and a new aesthetic representation. What happens to a flame when it burns hotter and hotter? It goes from red to blue, which is also the color symbolic of the too cold in Yang's allusion. A Yang who burns incredibly hot and brilliant and looks at the world with clear eyes at the same time... A true Super Sayan with blue eyes this time...A Goldilocks who is both hot and cold.
CONCLUSION
These are some random thoughts on Yang's design. It is probable much of this may be me over-analyzing, but tbh? It is fun to go at character designs this way and what's sure is that the authors created such a rich and coherent character that you can easily link many details together in one single narrative. That in itself is already amazing.

first of all, let me say that Newsies Are Beautiful. They have never met two clashing patterns they didn't want to combine and I think they are perfect in every way
that said
the classic Jack look could certainly use some tailoring before it's truly ready for the Yang prime time
these numbered fellas give us a better place to start when it comes to I WANT MY NEWSIES TO NOT BE SWIMMING IN CLOTHES TWO SIZES TOO BIG YES I KNOW THE VERITAS OF THEM SCROUNGING FOR WHATEVER BUT ALSO. THIRST.
Fella 1 is a pretty bang-on Yang and you can tell that was his intention because he's growing out his hair, bless. sleeves rolled to show arm, shirt unbuttoned scandalously to show cleavage, open vest, neat cap, high socks. the lower half does lose points for the striped socks that remind me of the Wicked Witch of the East's feet sticking out and the fact that he's clearly in tap shoes as opposed to work boots like his friend Fella 3
Fella 2 gets EXTRA sock points for the argyle and the vest-but-no-collar combo which is very Nora. He also has a neat cap, which Blake always does because she's hiding her ears.
Fella 3 has a sloppy cap but is otherwise a bang-on Blake; kempt and tidy in ways Yang never is even though they are essentially wearing the exact same thing. Blake knows how to button buttons and Yang pretends she forgets every day
Fella 4's rocking the henley and suspenders combo which serves any member of our cast, a fucking classic
Fella 5 is wearing a tie he is trying so hard he wants to look nice at work, 100% a Jaune move
sir that-- that's not how crutches are supposed to-- SIR--
this Crutchie exhibits excellent Newsie styling in a very Yang color palette. high socks, mixing of patterns, rolled sleeves; excellent. the slightly fancier waistcoat, actually buttoned, isn't something Yang would go for but certainly wouldn't be amiss on Blake, Ruby, or Velvet
Ruby also, of course, wears a signature red scarf instead of her cloak:
like her scarf and hat just absolutely dwarf her, she's WEE SMOL
above we see our previous example Crutchie not leaping through the air, and his outfit remains exemplary but for the backwards cap, which I shan't abide. the Jack to his left-- what with his WIDE open shirt, tight undershirt, rolled sleeves, and suspenders, is very Yang.
good Yang looks can also mean THE SHORTEST SLEEVES EVER, TO SHOW OFF THE GUNS:
both excellent choices, and of course our lower fella (TURN THAT CAP AROUND YOUNG MAN) has got his bandana going, which is Quite Yang
all the guys in the background there are gold too tbh
look at this king in this fashion pose but also YEAH WHY NOT BANDANAS ON THE ARMS BANDANAS EVERYWHERE the yang xiao long story
^^ this outfit, on the other hand, is pretty exactly spot-on for Blake immediately post haircut/makeover
Weiss, I'm sure you've already guessed, is a Classic Katherine:
she's buttoned-up, she's fancy, her shit matches and she's the only one in a skirt.
the only thing where my brain gets REALLY SPECIFIC is the finale so uh. spoiler warning I guess for screenshots of the Newsies film and vague references to a plot resolution if you're reading the AU without having watched it
but the finale looks are ICONIC and non-negotiable
button shirt OVER henley OVER bandana and nothing's buttoned? suspenders on but hanging loose from the hips? hell yes.
i actually even managed to make that dirt smudge on David's tummy plot-relevant to Blake and that was completely subconscious and I didn't realize I did it until looking up these screenshots but there you have it. and by this point Weiss gets to be a little more loose and dressed-down, a la Sarah
in conclusion they're in love look at those heart eyes oh my god

Due to an unfortunate set of circumstances, Jaune was kidnapped by the Branwen tribe during a raid.
Jaune: *in a cage, stripped of his weapons and armor* What do you people want with me, anyway? I’m warning you, my friends are the best huntsmen and huntresses in Remnant!
Shay D. Man: *bangs on the cage* Shut up, kid! We’re not scared of your little hero act or your friends! Right chief?
Raven: *staring at Jaune*
Shay D. Man: Uhh…chief?
Raven: *shakes her head and blinks* What? Oh, of course…
Vernal: Raven? Are you okay?
Raven: For a moment I could’ve sworn…Nevermind.
Vernal: …anyway, listen hero boy, just sit tight and stay quiet and nobody gets hurt. You’ll be free to go as soon as your friends pay your ransom!
Jaune: But none of my friends have any money right now!
Vernal: …well, shit. We dragged this blonde idiot all the way back here for nothing?
Shay D. Man: And put up with his dumb one-liners.
Raven: *squints at Jaune again* Maybe if he had a tattoo…
Vernal: What should we do with him, Raven? Beat him up and toss him in the woods?
Raven: *snaps out of her thoughts again* Actually, I think I have a better use for him!
Jaune: 😶
Later, RWBY_NR storm the camp and beat the bandits senseless.
Ruby: Okay, now tell us where you’re keeping Jaune!
Nora: And make it snappy! We saw you kidnap our fearless leader back in the village!
Vernal: *being held in a headlock by Yang* The blonde idiot?
Shay D. Man: *spits out blood* The chief had us put him in her tent and kicked us out for some reason!
Ruby: Oh, no! What if she’s torturing him!
Yang: I swear, I’m gonna kick my mom’s ass!
RWBY_NR immediately charge up to Raven’s tent and tear open the flap to reveal Jaune tied to a chair wearing a collared shirt, vest, cargo shorts, and a yellow bandana with a familiar arm tattoo painted on, while Raven slowly moves towards him wearing a too-small Beacon uniform blazer and skirt, swaying her hips seductively as she approaches.
Jaune: *dense and scaroused* Uh, listen miss bandit lady, I’m not sure about…
Raven: Shhhh, don’t worry, Taiyang. I promise I’ll be gentle…
Jaune: *scaroused and trying not to stare at Raven’s legs* Seriously though, I don’t know who Taiyang is!
Yang: What the hell? Mom?!
Raven: Yang?! What are you doing here?!
Yang: We’re here to rescue our friend!
Yang: *blinks and stares at Jaune, registering his outfit for the first time*
Yang: Did…did you dress Jaune up like Dad?
Weiss: What…what were you doing in here?
Raven: Uh…
Nora: Looks to me like Fearless Leader was about to get it on with an older woman!
Raven suddenly lunges for her sword on a nearby table, only for it to be snatched away by a tornado of rose petals. RWBY_NR all train their weapons on her.
Raven: *defeated sigh* Ugh, FINE! It’s been YEARS since I’ve gotten laid, and Taiyang was probably the best I’ve ever had!
All six teens recoil a bit.
Ruby: So you dressed Jaune up like our dad so you could do…stuff…to him? FILTH!
Weiss: ANYWAY! Raven Branwen, you and your whole tribe are under arrest!
Ruby: Yeah! For kidnapping and general…um…bad-guy-ness! Good thing we got here just in time, right Jaune?
Looking at the tied-up knight, Ruby discovers that the ropes are untied and Jaune is missing.
Ruby: Wait, where did Jaune go?
Blake: Remember when you grabbed Raven’s sword? While you were doing that Yang grabbed Jaune and ran out of the tent.
Raven: *sniff* My daughter has kidnapped her first blonde boyfriend! She truly is a Branwen!
Ruby: First you and now Yang? Ew, ew, ew! What’s wrong with you Branwens?!
Raven: Hey, I don’t burst in and kinkshame you or your mom for leaving your hood on during sex!
Blake: Is that what that smell is? You and Weiss have been having sex on your cape?
Ruby/Weiss: SHUT UP!!
Elsewhere…
Jaune: Phew! Was I ever glad to see you guys! No telling what that crazy lady was going to do to me!
Yang: Say, Lady-killer, have I ever told you how good you look in a vest with a tattoo?
Jaune: Huh? I guess not but it’s not like I everuuuuuuhhhhhhh…
Yang: *topless* Don’t worry Jaune, I promise I’ll be gentle…

Ok, but can we talk about Jae and his adult model? Because while I wouldn’t call it the worst (I think this title still has to go to Merula “I-have-bird-droppings-in-my-hair” Snyde), it’s just so… boring.
First of all, I hate that his hair looks shorter and neater. His current hairstyle looks way better, but also fits his personality, in my opinion, and the whole vibe of “always tired, always asleep in classes, not quite knowing what’s going on”. But even that aside, JC’s design is just… meh? If you ask me, Adult Jae looks like he finally decided to mature and stabilise – and he’s very unhappy about it. And in a way, it’s a bit funny because I actually had that idea a while ago that Jae gets married during the Second Wizarding World, but they quickly get divorced because his wife basically wants that regular “boring” life.
But either way, this is what I’d probably do myself:
Most importantly, I think we should keep in mind two things about Jae: 1) he likes to appear cool, 2) he comes from a rather poor family that probably still struggles with money (as we know he sends his mum money even when he’s still at school). Now, for this discussion and my version of Jae, I’m gonna assume that he will get a pretty good job affter graduation (because he’s a smart boy) – therefore, he will make pretty good money, too. I’m certain he’d still support his family, but I imagine he would also want to show through his appearance that now he can afford things. Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely can’t see him spending a lot on clothes and whatnot. But at the same time, I think he’d be willing to invest in quality. For example, he’d definitely have a very nice leather jacket that he’d wear like all the time. He could also invest in some more expensive accessories like a watch or shoes. Oh, and I absolutely love the idea of including his red bandana in his adult outfit!
Also, the idea of Jae with the bandana actually makes me think of Eugene Lee Yang – and no, not just because he’s also Korean. And yes, I know Eugene is an absolute fashion icon, and I don’t think it’d fully work for Jae… But on the other hand, I feel like some of Eugene’s more casual outfits do work here.

Doing some light test and new design for yang
Foy yang design she still has overalls the inside of them are purple they're reversible that she can wear them is purple or black they're the same type of overalls she had from between v7-9 but like I said in a different color she has on a white cropped top that looks kind of like a sports bra, and over it I gave her a gray Blazer I think the rest of team Ruby
should add like more colors to their look to match each other, so yang has gray,like ruby sleeves ,white crop top/bra and black /purple overalls in the gray on the Blazer she's wearing compliments the orange and it makes it pop better plus I used one of her bandanas to tie her hair up in a ponytail
