Gosh it's been so long since I've put one of these lists together, and I've been sitting on this request for a long time.

I consider Harry-centric fics to be when the fic really sheds some new light on his psyche or story (perhaps in an AU or in canon). I didn't think I would have any stories to offer because I tend to focus on Harry/Ginny stories or Ginny-centric stories and I was satisfied with Harry's POV in the books. Then I went through the stories I've read and thought, huh, well I have a few that do fit the bill (though mostly have already been rec'ed).

Omg omg omg, someone’s actually writing a Disco Elysium-Slay the Princess crossover and it’s so friggin’ cool!!!!!

Written by ASpooky on Ao3, this fic has post-game Harry take on the role of the Long Quiet for the stp’s plot. And he (and all of his skills) has to figure out what the hell’s going on and why there’s a Narrator telling him to slay a princess.

Even if you’re unfamiliar with Disco Elysium, I think this would still be a fun read!! It uses Disco Elysium’s formatting style and game mechanics, but it isn’t difficult to keep up with, and worth giving it a shot if only for the fun of having a full-character that existed outside the construct and already has 24 other voices telling him what to do from the start interacting with stp’s world.

The also formatted the text to look like DE text, and it looks so friggin’ cool!!!!

New Mikunology Files #1: CV Powers

omg here we go again

I've been on break a little while but I've been thinking hard recently and I want to share, so! I got an ask long ago about how Miku and friends' superpowers worked in my AU, and I answered it with what I had at the time, but after a lot of thought I straightened something more out I'm pretty satisfied with. I could add on potentially, though, because this AU is an eternal WIP. But y'know.

I'm pretty much gonna copy my notes. (Also sorry if this is formatted oddly, I'm on mobile right now.) Read below the cut! 👇

So, let's recap with the basics.

The Crypton CV androids are outfitted with special cores that function as their "hearts" - they're located in their chests. These cores are made of a special material that not only allows the CVs to learn and experience humanlike emotions, but also have the ability to change "feelings" into "energy": this is what gives them their superpowers. (They found this out by accident.) Meiko has dubbed this energy "Voltage".

The thing about Voltage, though, is that it's kind of unstable, and really powerful. Because of that, it's best for it to be used sparingly; the CVs can probably use it once or twice per fight (Module transformations excluded). Overuse of Voltage can cause the CVs to short/overload or become exhausted (which isn't great when you're trying to finish off a fight).

Voltage can get stronger with strong emotions, so the group can occasionally spark their powers by accident if they get particularly emotional. Conversely, being too stoic or repressing emotions too much can reduce Voltage power. (Hence, it takes Luka much longer to truly break her powers in.)

Voltage also gives the group the ability to use Modules, chunks of pure Voltage energy that can give them a major power boost and change their appearances, as well as grant them new powers. (For example, Miku acquiring the Raspberryism Module gives her a mega punch ability and a new appearance resembling the character Raspberry Monster.)

Each of the CVs possess a unique way to channel their Voltage (special ability):

Miku's is Voltage Resonance. It gives Miku the ability to "resonate" with someone else's feelings and thoughts. This way, she can use this temporary empathic link to induce feelings, and given it's Miku, it's usually through song (for example, if she encounters a Module monster who's fueled by sadness, she can use Voltage Resonance to see what they're feeling and counter by giving them a song of hope or happiness). She can't outright control emotions like this, mind you, they're more like a powerful emotional suggestion. The flip side to this is that it can be ignored if a character is staunch about it (and technically regardless it wears off eventually, it just gives Miku enough time to give the person a "head start", if that makes sense?) and it can also mess Miku's own feelings up a bit if she's neglects to keep herself focused. It's also best used when the target is already vulnerable.

Rin and Len's is Voltage Link. Kind of similar to Miku's, but unique in that it mainly works with each other: it gives the twins a power boost and allows them to telepathically link themselves, making them temporarily "of one mind and body". It works best with each other since they're twins/mirrors, but they can use it with others... it's just way more difficult to keep it stable unless they understand the other person really well. Which is rare.

Luka's ability is Voltage Lariat. Also kinda unique in that can be both offensive and defensive, depending on what Luka's aiming for - Luka creates a field of Voltage that can either be a sort of healing spot (giving energy to everything in it) or a blast zone (taking energy from anything in it and giving it to Luka). Luka can probably do one of these each per fight, but she's gotta choose carefully when to use it. The fields also don't last long. (Why's this sound so video gamey? But this is the best I could come up with that I think works for her.)

Lastly, all CVs get one extra ability that is usually their "finisher" when all together: Voltage Wave. Not much to this one, just all the CVs using their Voltage to create a super rainbow energy beam!! Usually does the trick. (Fun fact: I like to think that it was rare for Miku and the twins to be able to pull off this move given they were inexperienced and it took a lot of power to pull off; with Luka's inclusion, it's way easier!)

Lastly, the CVs do have a few regular old stock superpowers: super strength (Rin's specialty), flight (Miku's specialty; also Luka is the only one in the group who doesn't fly too much when not necessary), super speed (to a degree at least), super reflexes, super hearing (they're musicians, after all!), super durability, the ability to download themselves into technology (robot perk) and the ability to manipulate hologram/hard light technology.

And that's pretty much it! I hope all of that makes some amount of sense. I'm sorry if I missed some stuff, I'll try to fill it in eventually.

Showing up for Tubbathon 2024 was a wild one.

Having your hand duct taped to Tommy's was also a whole thing in itself. At least you weren't working with Ranboo, who had no idea how to cook, unlike their poor partner Freddie. Recipe For Disaster was probably a horrible idea to join.

You and Tommy, Green Team, versus Ranboo and Freddie, Orange Team.

You'd never really talked on stream before. You either communicated through Minecraft signs or in-game chats. If you did speak, however, you'd often use a voice changer to make you seem a little more understandable, as you knew your accent was a bit difficult to understand sometimes.

You'd also met with your friends in real life before, of course, but you made sure the entire trip you strained your voice to sound a little more understandable.

But, now cooking with one of your long-time friends, the big guy TommyInnit himself, you didn't seem as worried or insecure when you spoke. I mean, you'd barely spoken, but you were in a comfortable environment - Tubbo's house - and were accompanied by friends you'd known for a long time now.

The stream had started and Tubbo had explained your rules, leaving the two groups to get to cooking.

"Hey, mate, can you hold the bowl while I stir the eggs?" You kindly ask Tommy, wriggling a whisk out of the jar between the stations.

The blonde blinks in silence, staring at you, "Your accent went 0 to 100 very quickly, Y/n/n" He giggles.

"Wait, what?" You glance about, feeling a little nervous as you plop the whisk into the measuring cup, needing to stir the eggs.

"Not in a bad way! Like, I never noticed your fuckin' accent was so, like, heavy before? You didn't sound like that last time we met up, or talked" He shrugs as he explains himself.

"Oh" You shrug, watching as he secures his free hand around the handle of the glass measuring cup. You begin to whisk the eggs, poking at the yolks to make it go a little bit faster. "I mean, I usually use a little voice changer to make me a little more understandable"

"Ohhhhh, wait, that makes sense" He nods, "Ow! Calm down, I'm not trying to get surgery on my wrist now!" He quickly pulls his hand away, feeling something pop.

"Shit, I'm sorry! Are you alright?"

He bites his tongue, nodding as you reach for his hand. "I'm good"

You gently grab his wrist, quickly and lightly kneading the area for him.

Ranboo looks up, seeing you two distracted in your green aprons. "They're taking a massage therapy break already" they comment, tapping Freddie on the shoulder.

"C'mon, man up, Tommy! You'll be okay" Freddie lightly smiles, cracking a few eggs over the measuring cup, which they'd just struggled to find.

"Dude, I just had surgery on my crowned jewels, I don't think I will!"

"Good God, help me now" You chuckle

Ranboo and Freddie go silent for a moment before the boy with the red hair speaks up.

"You weren't kidding about the voice changer, were you?"

You shake your head no, "Why would I lie about that, mate?"

The two shrug, hearing Tubbo fake yell at them for cheating since they were conversing with you. The four of you jokingly plan a rebellion that you'd put into place for later, deciding to focus on the food right now.

"Tommy, Tommy, the plate, not the floor! If you drop that I'll actually kill you"

"It's on the damn plate!"

Tommy quickly sets the pan down to help you fold the guacamole together, using his one hand to hold the bowl while you rushingly mix it all up. From the avocados to the lemon juice, you got it to a nice consistency, and, with a struggle, get a dab of it on the paper plate you were given next to the burrito.

"I think he's gonna like it either way, considering most of what he eats, he orders." You shrug, setting the bowl of guacamole down.

Tommy lightly laughs, "Yeah, that's true"

You were finished before the timer, luckily, however, Freddie and Ranboo were still working, using each hand to do their own tasks to work a little faster.

"Tubbo, can you understand me with my accent this thick?" You shout into the other room, purposely making your voice and accent sound a bit thicker to try and mess wirh him.

It's silence until he answers, like he needed to translate your words. "Barely!"

You and Tommy laugh, chatting away while the other group works.

"What's Australia even like? Just like... giant spiders and kangaroos?"

"Holy shit"

"I'm serious! It's not like I'm going anytime soon"

"Well, it's not that. It's like the UK but much warmer, and yeah, kinda scarier. It's like a real-life Better Minecraft mod"

"You guys have armored skeletons attacking you??" Tommy laughs as he teases you.

"I hate you!" You laugh

"I love how you say 'you', it sounds so dumb"

"It sounds like how you Brits say it!" You smile, using your free hand to try and fight him in a playful manner.

"Dumb in a nice way! Dumb in a nice way!" He shouts, trying to use his free hand to protect himself from the cat fight. "They weren't lying when they said you Aussies fight like wild animals, what's next, you gonna kick the shit out of me?" He asks, egging you on.

"I'm gonna kick you in the crown jewels if you don't shut up!" You joke, making him scream in terror, probably killing the viewers' ears as well.

He yelps, falling back as he drags you down with him, having slipped on himself.

"Tommy!"

"Ow!"

"Jesus Christ, they've broken each other's backs off that floor, I heard it" Freddie lightly laughs, holding the paper plate up for Ranboo so they could put the food on it. "I think Y/n's dead"

"Tubbo! We need the ambulance!" Ranboo laughs, "Get Eryn back here, they actually can't get up! The tied hands have impaired them tremendously"

"Tommy, just stand up!"

"My balls hurt!"

"Then let me stand up, I can't when you're holding your dick together!"

Eryn quickly rushes over, helping the both of you stand up slash getting Tommy to release his tied hand from his crotch. You help him up and pat him on the shoulder with your free hand as Tubbo wraps up the time.

In the end, your groups nearly tied, you and Tommy one point behind Freddie and Ranboo. Honestly, they did deserve the win.

"I still can't believe you fooled us with the voice changer, even changing your voice in real life. I swear, you sound totally different," Freddie lightly chuckles, freeing himself from the apron.

"In a good way, though" Ranboo adds, "Your accent is really fucking cool, trust me"

You lightly smile, freeing yourself from Tommy's sweaty hands. "Thanks- ow, holy shit!"

"You think that hurt?" The blonde teases, having ripped the rest of the duct tape of your hands.

"Piss off"

After the stream ended, Tubbo turned on some music while you guys cleaned up. He and Eryn were sorting out the lights, cameras, and microphone while the four of you cleaned up the kitchen. You decided to clean each other's messes, trying to make it a little more enjoyable, which none of you minded.

The music, picked my Tubbo himself, was an early 2000s hip hop mix, titled something like 'Greatest 2000s Hip Hop Hits' or something. And of course, Ranboo and Tommy were getting down to it, mostly leaving you and Freddie to do the cleaning while you laughed at them singing and dancing along.

Tommy was bouncing around, not focused on cleaning whatsoever as he tugs on your hand, wanting you to join in.

"Y/n, Freddie, cmon!"

"This isn't High School Musical, dude" You reply

"You deserve a break!" Ranboo shouts, pulling Freddie into whatever fucked up dance trapezoid you guys had going on.

You sigh and set down the cups you were washing and turn the water off. You spray the water from your hands on Freddie, starting a war as you join their little dance party.

Freddie gasps and smiles, throwing the little bit of water in the measuring cup at you in retaliation.

"Australian versus Brit! Who will win!?" Tommy shouts with a little laugh.

"Hopefully not the American"

You fake shudder and nod. "Yeah, I agree with that, Ranboo"

Grimbly is only a hybrid. The degree to which hybrids are or not subjected to their demonic side's nature depends on how much demon blood there is in the lineage altogether. Perhaps he got the short end of the stick, but Grimbly will only increase noticeably in power if he "takes" in absurd proportions. Maybe one virginity wouldn't do much, but stack a couple and he'd change for sure.

Although it may not seem like it, Grimbly will snatch up a virginal and inexperienced partner faster than you can blink. Because, even if he'll have to sexually coax you into certain, assertive roles, he can take over in every other aspect. In that greenhorn state, you're not ready to deal with such a manipulative little cunt. His tricks may even be completely overlooked by you at first! You're in an awful position.

While some others will hesitate, or at least feel bad about it, Grimbly will not think twice about using your lack of experience against you. It's normal that he wants you to call him every hour, that's how relationships work silly! Most people have hard kinks, what are you talking about? Why don't you want to choke him blue? That's so normal. What are you doing hanging out with this person so much? The way you touch them is so inappropriate, you don't do that when you have a partner! You really don't know anything, do you? It's okay, Grimbly's not mad, you can trust him to teach you all the right stuff. And what not to do.

Again, the little sub of a bat monster may not look it, but he takes great joy in being your first. All yanderes do, to a degree, but it's especially rewarding for Grimbly because he gets to "format" you into the mommy role. If all your sexual encounters thus far have involved some sort of explicit power play, then you're going to find it a little difficult to be any other way. He's thrilled by this. hi!! sorry for the late reply since this is a bit of an older ask and was likely sent around the time that twitter/x started doing that thing where no one without an account can see tweets and stuff. i'm happy you enjoy my work🥰🥰🥰🥰!!!

unfortunately for some reason, twitter links are really difficult to incorporate into the master list. i've been successful with it less than a handful of times and that's why i ended up making a 'thread of threads' for my twitter threads but that's on my twitter account and is just one long scroll of all my 'tweetfics' which are just a train of though stretching longer than 3 or so tweets.

there's also the fact that putting them on tumblr is, while not necessarily difficult, is a VERY time consuming process because due to twitter's format you need to manually copy and paste every single tweet into a doc and then copy and paste that to a tumblr post and then add the link of that tumblr post to the master link and honestly that's simply too much work that i don't think i'm willing to commit to.

as for posting it on my ao3, i also don't want to do that since i want my ao3 reserved solely for actual, fully completed works of a singular plot that are greater than 7k words. i really don't polish, check, or review any of the things i write on twitter or tumblr -which i enjoy!! because editing a work is one of the major reasons i'm such a slow fic updater/writer- and if i posted them on ao3 i'd want to at least edit them for any mistakes which would be a huge burden to undertake because i enjoy twitter and tumblr because it allows me to not care about the relative disorganization of it all. and given the volume of the ficlets on twitter and tumblr, the amount of work is simply not feasible for me. :( its unfortunate because this wouldnt be a problem it twitter hadn't changed hands and forbidden anyone without an account to harmlessly lurk without signing up.

ANDI (how did she get there and why, wears a one piece i guess???)

positive interactions: with OTHER OCS i think the most immediate positive interaction she could have is with billie, just because they are from the same universe and canonically have "grown up" together in a sense. could definitely see a heartfelt moment there on this vacation :] with other danganronpa characters.......... hm. chihiro is immediately coming to mind because she is polite and would likely be interested in what the hell is going on. KEEBO WOULD ALSO BE REALLY COOL I THINK two different forms of artificial life with very different views on how they see themselves and humanity. could be awesome.

negative interactions: extremely difficult to have a "negative" interaction with andi because she is literally siri however if any of my ocs were to reach that then ummmmmmmmm ryobe. ryobe and maybe naomi bc shes just soooooo uncomfortable with it hfbjdg. for other danganronpa characters i can see a similar chihiro situation with miu where shes really interested in what makes andi tick however ..................... shes miu . so it will not be appropriate. and this isnt exactly negative but i can see her and kirumi getting stuck in this endless loop of "no, let me take care of YOU".

BILLIE (hates wearing a swim suit and acts so out of place half of the time, long swim shirt and board shorts)

positive interactions: with my ocs hmmmmm i can really see sae acting in a big sister kinda sense!!! theyre both a bit more mellow as well lol so they'd get along, not to mention they have this back and forth and being the listener vs talking a lot. i could also see billie and naomi relating to each other-- they probably meet each other bc theyre both hiding in the restaurant trying to get away from the noise LMAO. and with other danganronpa characters hmmmmmmmmm anybody who is chill. RANTARO ACTUALLY WOULD BE REALLY GOOD she would love his style so bad. AND ALSO NEKOMARU. JESUS CHRIST I CAN REALLY SEE HER AND NEKOMARU

negative interactions: with my ocs MIKA LOL. two ultimate lucky students both insecure as hell and not super chatty, one of them would say something vaguely catty and theyd be so petty the rest of the time LMFAO. also pippy because she is super loud and in her face. billie would be overwhelmed by a LOT of the danganronpa characters so unless theyre really nice she'd probably not get along with a lot of them hbfdjgbjdsghdjf. she would hate kokichi because she keeps getting wrapped up in his tricks but she just ....... keeps falling for it.................

ERIN/PIPPY (very loud and bouncy, frilly one piece swimsuit!!)

positive interactions: she'd get along with anybody who has high energy!!!! ryobe and her would go off into a corner and film a bunch of tiktok videos or something LMFAOOOOO but they'd be chill. her and naomi also already strangely get along just because she's very optimistic and tries to get naomi to talk to more people!! ibuki is a SOLID interaction (ibuki teaches her how to play more songs that arent strictly on brand!!), and i can ALSO see pippy and angie getting along like a house on fire. ALSO NOT NECESSARILY POSITIVE but for some reason i can see her and yasuhiro fucking around LMAO

negative interactions: pippy is definitellyyyyy not for the faint of heart so i can see a few people getting pretty quickly annoyed!! ummmmm i think she'd see a little too much of herself in kokichi LMAO and that interaction would turn sour real fast. she'd really struggle to play off of teruteru because she's so kid friendly and theyd both leave with odd tastes in their mouths. fuyuhiko/byakuya/maki would HATE her ass. ESPECIALLY maki because she would have no clue who pippy was and pippy would immediately without hesitation go "yeah you're unlike ANY child caregiver ive ever seen lol!!!!!!!!!! its almost like youre lying or something"

MIKA (she's pretty chill most of the time, two piece swimsuit with wrap around skirt)

positive interactions: she's nice enough, just not particularly chatty with the ultimates! her and yoshito are the most obvious pairing here, but she would also be pretty into sae i reckon. i can weirdly see her and maki having a bit of a rapport............ she'd also be pretty chill with hajime. just hanging out lol

negative interactions: wouldn't get along with makoto despite him probably not feeling as negatively about her lmao, for the same reason her and billie don't really get along!! same with nagito but mika would probably find more reasons to dislike him than just "i am insecure about my talent and you are a projection of that" lol. anybody who approaches her way too quickly with a "YOU NEED TO JOIN IN NOW!!!!" attitude would also deter her, which probably means she doesnt like kaito, nekomaru, POSSIBLY kaede all too much. and i think that kaito one would LASTTTT theyd just get so petty for some reason LMFAOOSDO

NAOMI (wow there sure are a lot of people here huh!!!! full body swimsuit)

positive interactions: she's very wary about who shes with even when she is supposed to be relaxing on a beach, which means it'd be a bit more difficult for her to make a whole lot of friends!! people like sae and rie are good just bc theyre pretty damn patient lol! i can also see her getting along with aoi over their respective athleticism. hell probably even ryoma too, also because they both got pretty fucked over in the backstory department lmfao. nekomaru and akane would scare the absolute shit out of her but if they were persistent enough i could see them being friends!!! also strangely i can see her and korekiyo????

negative interactions: anybody too loud or abrasive would frighten her, and that applies to a lottttt of danganronpa characters lmao. she's also fairly standard in that anybody mean or harsh would pretty quickly throw her off, so people like byakuya or hiyoko would definitely not get along with her!! on the opposite end of that spectrum i think if you put naomi and mikan in the same room together they would just meekly stand there until one of them starts hyperventilating

RIE (glamorous bikini and hair accessories, does NOT go in the water ever because she can't ruin her hair lmao)

positive interactions: this is rie's MOMENT. people pleaser to the MAX. honestly she can get along with soooooo many of these people if only because she just agrees with whatever the hell they're telling her. her and sayaka could have some pretty serious conversations about getting to where they are + their families i reckon :) her and sonia could be cool (pageant royalty versus ACTUAL royalty). her and mikan could be cute if only because rie is very very nice to her lol. and im afraid tenko would actually fall in love with her

negative interactions: junko would get so sick of her whole shtick IMMEDIATELY. and also i do not know why i really really do not know why but for some reason i just think her and toko would not get along at all lmao???????????

RYOBE (bathing shorts and unbuttoned shirt)

positive interactions: he's just a fucking goofball .......... he's going around with a watergun and shooting at anybody he can find......... he's easy to make friends with in a scenario where there is no killing game!! billie would think he's really funny and him and sae could idk go smoke a blunt or smth. he'd LOVE ibuki (and ANY cheerful character frankly), he'd reach out to a lot of the meeker characters so i can see him and chihiro/shuichi/mikan developing a bit of a rapport. him and kokichi are a dangerous ass pairing LMAO

negative interactions: any "no-nonsense" character would pretty quickly get irritated with him, so taka immediately fjkdgfjg. byakuya also................... he'd probably get on fuyuhiko's nerves pretty quick

SAE (board shorts and sports bra, always in that damnnnn water)

positive interactions: she's pretty easy-going, so i can see a lot more positive interactions than negative! she's a great listener to anybody who likes to ramble (tenko immediately comes to mind, i think saes wisdom could really balance out that dynamic. same with gundham honestly lmao), but she also appreciates anybody willing to do the same in return :) honestly i can see her going on old man rambles to shuichi or kyoko a lot ahbjfdhg. also her and sakura would be instant best friends. like they would never leave that fucking dock they would just sit there and be all wise and shit

negative interactions: saes pretty damn patient so a lot of these are NEUTRAL at best-- making her upset at you is a taskkkk, especially in a non-killing game scenario. anybody purposefully trying to push her buttons (hiyoko, kokichi) would be irritating for sure!! and while she doesnt take an IMMEDIATE distaste to people quick to violence (more often she just kinda sighs and tries to deter them), immediate violence against HER ticks her off. while i can see them becoming friends in the future, i think akanes immediate response of going "hey YOU look strong FIGHT ME NOW!!" might raise a whole lot of alarms in saes brain fghdkjgh

YOSHITO (board shorts and a short-sleeve swim shirt!!)

positive interactions: he's pretty easy to get along with! a bit of a pushover lmfaoo. he ALSO has a whole complex about trying to help people, which means he will gravitate to anybody who looks really sad or upset. he definitely talks to billie and naomi lol, probably also shuichi and toko!! could see some funny interactions between him and kaito, just because they're both trying to be encouraging forces but have pretty different ideas of what "being a hero" might mean!!!

negative interactions: his "i can fix you" mentality surely does not work on EVERYBODY hgdkgfjkgfg. kazuichi tries to make a joke like "yeah hahah my dad sucks" and immediately yasuhiro goes "Kazuichi it is Okay to be Hurt." totally kills the mood

Characterization on point, intriguing plot, incredible writing. The one God of War fic that refuses to let me go. (WIP)

It would be a long drive home by Croik Summary: Arthur Never Makes the Deal with Kayne AU Comment: *Incoherent noises.* Holy moly, this one is good. Amazing writing, captivating plot, just an overall joy to read. The ending made me crave more.

Lacuna by Calamitatum Summary: After Addison, John gets a body and Crazy Shit Happens (not necessarily in that order) Comment: *increased incoherent noises.* BITCH. This fic broke me. And it ain’t even finished yet. Such excellent content, an absolute must-read. (WIP)

Tuck me in by Croik Summary: After getting his own body, John finds it difficult to adjust to one of the most basic and most anticipated new options for him: sleep. Comment: Cuddles. Solve. EVERYTHING. Am so in love with this fic. I hold it up gently for everyone to see.

formaldehyde (or, The Case of the Missing Lilly) by SupposedToBeWriting Summary: Prohibition with a hint of demons and detective-ing Comment: If you could see my reactions as I was reading this fic you’d understand the hype. Absolutely fantastic piece of art. Just. Aaaaah I love it. Quite long but I barely noticed. Hooks you in and refuses to let go.

Batman (DC) - 🦇we live in a society—🃏

HOPE THE LOVE WE SHARED CAN RESURRECT THE LAST. by orpheusaki Summary: Jason survives Ethiopia and returns home; this is the beginning. Comment: The ending made me cry and demand a refund, but like, in the best of ways. Major Character Death. This one HURT y’all, proceed with caution.

Papa Whiskey Bravo by PsychedelicBumblebee Summary: Dick almost dies while on patrol, and Bruce quietly loses it. Comment: aaaah urgggh this one hurt. A LOT. Which seems to be the ones I end up enjoying the most. Beautifully written. ScaredShitless!Bruce is always a win. Gets you right in the feels.

Don’t hold your breath, I don’t think we have much time left by Chemical_Processes Summary: On a quest to rid Harvey of Two-Face, Duke gets critically injured, forcing Bruce and Harvey to work together to keep him alive. Comment: This ficccccc omg. Absolutely obsessed. Love me some Duke content, and the Bruce & Harvey dynamic is to live for. Protective!Bruce is best Bruce. You might be cautious after what I just said about this author’s other work, but don’t worry! This one sparks joy.

And we’ll be carry each other by FishFromMars Summary: Timmy goes to a safehouse after a mission ends with the death of two of his best friends. Comment: what can I say? Reverse Robins AU is an immediate win in my book. Also Damian being a Good Brother makes me feel stuff, man. Something something poetic cinema something. Really well written as well. Very sad, I love it.

my shoulders are heavy already by a_alene Summary: Damian is not sick. Dick is not having a crisis. Also, freezer pops. Comment: Sickfic, which already tells you it's gonna be some good soup. So incredibly sweet but also very oof. My heart constricted several times while reading this. Damian and Dick’s dynamic and relationship is just so…🥺 I love them, your honor.

The Long Way Home by itsnatalie Summary: Jason and Tim are forced to work together when they’re trapped inside a murderous labyrinth. Things get crazy, y’all. Comment: !!! this. fic. It’s one of those fics that’ll stay with you long after you’ve read it. The longest fic on my list, but oh my god it’s so worth reading. And that’s coming from someone who doesn’t usually read longer fics. Seriously, this shit SLAPS

(Alice in Borderland spoilers, also, I'll cut this ask in 2 because I'd like to elaborate on the pacing issue) for the title, yes omg!! It's only when reading the manga that I understood the Alice, Rabbit, Mad Hatter Cheshire Cat and Queen of Heart references which made the title more fitting 😭😭 As for the ending, I have to admit that I hated it at first because it felt so 'flat' to me, but just days before the adaptation, I understood how 'nuanced' the meaning was and liked it much better. I'm quite excited to see whether it'll get renewed for a 3rd season because we're hinted that there's more coming (that scene is not in the manga, the story just ends like that), maybe it could solve the adapating issues of the two formats?

zldfjldskfj the way i felt sooooooo fucking stupid in the second last episode when i finally realized usagi is literally means rabbit and that's why her motif was running................ i saw a bunch of the other references (like the hatter especially, i thought that one was cute) and once i saw that the queen of hearts was gonna be the last game i KNEW it was gonna be some kind of riff on croquet, but the fact that it took me so long to see that the literal names of the main characters were the same is frankly embarrassing klklsdf. obvs i haven't read the manga so i wasn't going into it knowing how it was going to turn out, but i think that with this particular story it would have been difficult to come up with an ending that kept the introspective nature of the reasons for the games while also squaring away the violence if it all was actually real. a lot of people seem to think that 'it was all a dream' endings are cop outs but in a case like this, the aggressive denouement of descending back into the real world actually frames the points of the story better, rather than trying to give a logical (in relation to the story) explanation for it all. that's why i was kind of iffy on the first part of the finale where mira was giving all the different explanations, bc imo none of those do the actual themes the story was trying to explore justice.

i was kind of wondering if the joker card was ever going to show up + what its role would be, so interesting to learn that it originally wasn't part of the story at all. personally i don't want it to be renewed for continuing seasons bc they wrapped everything up really nicely and frankly we don't need to know anything more about the story. tv has such a problem with carrying things on long past their due in a way that retroactively weakens the rest of the show, and i don't want that to happen in this case bc it's two really good seasons of tv that are neatly and properly ended, and i like it when things end.

Amari- She's pretty good at falling asleep and generally has a pretty regular sleep schedule. Usually the only trouble she has is with changes in seasons. Just keeping with a schedule, regular activity and sometimes taking melatonin when she needs it helps her.

Cason- He sleeps like a rock. Pretty erratic sleep schedule, as it often goes with people who struggle with substance abuse... He usually smokes weed to fall asleep, if he wants to sleep.

Arya- They're pretty sensitive to noise and light, so falling asleep can be pretty difficult. When Arya shared a room with Naveen, he tried using ear plugs and when they were younger he used to use an eye mask but didn't like to when they got older. He usually uses sleep aid or melatonin to fall asleep.

Yona- He does not sleep easily at all, he's had infant symptoms of sleep disorders. He's had some issues with falling asleep randomly during the day in the middle of activities and eating because he doesn't get enough sleep at night :(

what is their comfort breakfast? (+ when and why? did it become their comfort breakfast)

Dee- Very toasted waffles were her favorite when she was a kid. crunch.

Bobbie- Cereal! She's pretty much always had it for breakfast. It's simple and easy.

Arya- Arya's more of a simple breakfast kind of person, usually just smaller snacky sort of breakfast and having a bigger lunch and dinner.

Finn- They used to sleep in pretty late, generally they'd just eat whatever. Even just cold pizza from the night before.

what was the inspiration behind your oc? what was the first thing you decided about them?

i think i see little parts of myself and other people i've known in all of my ocs. i know in my head i have broader inspirations for all of them...

Dorothy- We have a lot in common, especially with my younger self aged 13-16... I know I wanted to tell the sort of story that many autistic people especially autistic women have including myself that isn't often shown.

Finn- They were loosely inspired by the type of people i interacted with while using and a few of my exes, but they eventually came into their own characters wise. (this also applies to Cason honestly)

can they swim? or are they afraid of water? how well do they swim? how do they feel about swimming in the ocean?

Oscar- He grew up in a rural area and spent a lot of time fishing and swimming in lakes growing up. He doesn't swim anymore, but he could if he wanted to.

Dorothy- She knows how to swim, but from age 7 onward she hated it. She hasn't tried to since and she doesn't plan to. Not because she's scared but for sensory reasons.

Eva- She doesn't like swimming, hasn't since she was 10. Definitely wouldn't in the ocean.

what does your oc want to be remembered as? why?

Dee- I feel like she doesn't want to be remembered. Probably mostly because of embarrassment and discomfort.

Bobbie- She has no idea what she would want to be remembered as other than a good person? She would loved to be remembered for some skill but she'd be fine with just being remembered for her positive character.

Oscar- I don't know if he's thought about that much at all. He feels like he's here to provide and work and do that well and move on to an afterlife, or not.

Inola- She was raised with more spiritual/religious influence than the other three. So, some of that still resonates with her but I feel like she feels similarly to Bobbie. Be good, do good.

can they ride a bike? what do they remember from learning to ride a bicycle?

Eva- Yes, her dad taught her. She had one of those cute little bikes with tassels/ribbons on the handle bars. It's collected spiderwebs in their garage.

Zamora- She never learned, but she aced roller skating LOL.

Tory- Tory learned with the help of his Uncle. He used to ride it around his neighborhood and all over town until he was about 14.

Ivan- He is just known for drug dealing, mainly. Because of that, people generally think he's a heavy user or aggressive because of that. He's generally never been, he just drinks and smokes and got into selling because he knew how to. Any aggression is more of a front than anything.

Oscar- Because he's pretty terrible at expression his emotions or reacting to emotional states, people think he's kind of emotionless or heartless. Far from it. He just struggles with opening up. He's trying to work on it... Since Inola pointed it out directly.

what traits do they look for in a relationship? do they believe in love at first sight?

Dorothy- She really has always taken interest in any girl who took even the slightest interest in her... leading to several heartbreaks. She has wondered if she is burdened with 'love at first sight.' But, she doesn't really believe in it beyond media tropes.

Oscar- When he first got into a relationship with the twins' mom, he had no idea what he needed or wanted. As it goes with a lot of early-mid 20 somethings. He just wants someone who's dependable and caring, and he realized he needed someone who puts up some healthy boundaries.

Arya- Hates it. Will do it for family events, IDs, anything absolutely necessary. He usually does the basic, sit/stand, holding their hands together, standing behind someone for group photos. They've always hated it. In major part because of insecurity regarding his appearance. They were bullied almost all of their childhood. (They do have a polaroid of Bobbie when they first started dating that Arya took, it's one of their prized possessions.)

Dorothy- No, definitely not. She doesn't like the idea of people looking at her when she can't see them. She's fine with like, baby and childhood photos because she doesn't feel connected to them but from 12-now? They make her very uncomfortable. Her earliest memory related to photo taking was of Laura forcing her to pose for a spring picture even though she was crying because of the sun in her eyes. She did use to love taking pictures of cool plants, animals and landscapes. She hasn't much since she was 15 though.

Bobbie- She does generally, she's fairly confident. She doesn't usually pose too theatrically, but she has a couple selfies out there. She does like taking pictures, usually just of things she finds aesthetically nice.

Johnny - Not cherishing the little moments he had with Scott while Scott was still alive.

Kylo - Letting his insecurities get to him, and allowing himself to self-harm in the first place.

Braeden - Not coming to terms with their identity sooner; pretending to be somebody they weren't.

7. Have they committed a crime before? Which one(s)?

Johnny - Possession of a Controlled Drug (Marijuana) - Not caught by authorities

Kylo - Grievous Bodily Harm - Not Prosecuted (When he was a teenager and in a fight)

Braeden - Shoplifting, Posession of Controlled Drugs, Doxxing (They doxxed a racist)

Johnny - Atychiphobia (fear of failure), Autophobia (fear of being alone)

I'd say they're all fairly honest, minus the white lies here and there.

Johnny - To stop allowing people to walk all over him, and to trust his gut more often.

Kylo - Learn to accept himself.

Braeden - Allow themselves to receive love from other people.

Johnny - His loved ones and his desire to start a family one day

Kylo - Loved ones and the thought of healing his inner child

Favourite character?

Kylo Uzeo Mathsooka-Argent. Just look at him. I absolutely adore him!

Scott Whalen would be my second favourite!

Favourite scene you’ve written?

This is a difficult one! However, I’m going to go with this one. Reason being is because it is something that just hits close to home. I saw a lot of myself in Scott, so writing this made me emotional.

Does your story have a theme song?

A theme song hasn’t really been something I’ve thought about. However, I do feel that Fun by Sir Sly is fitting to some extent.

If you could change one thing about your story, what would it be?

Sometimes I feel like I could do with a more consistent editing style, as I am still currently experimenting with a few things here and there. Either that, or maybe have less “filler” parts. That being said though, the filler parts are to help get to know some characters better, but maybe I could consider how often I do them?

Hardest character to write?

I think at the moment I would say Chris Drago. Not sure why. Still love him, though!

Ahh the Loona pile!

Similar to Pile 1, but much more fiery! You are resilient! Taking time to collect yourself before pushing forward with a renewed sense of energy and purpose is such an amazing and useful trait. You maybe aren't as commanding of a presence but you have such an inner strength that no one can deny.

You got the World for the reason why you're beautiful! Maybe it's related to physically being very beautiful and possibly exotic-looking. You might have very specific features associated with a certain area of the world that stand out where you live. You also have such a wonderful understanding of the world and where it's currently at. Things can seem negative or like hope is lost but you still seek out the beauty and share it with others. the fifth summer – in which you meet her

One of the things you’ve always hated about being a demigod is that dreams are often a direct reflection of reality or an illusion caused by Phantasos, so it’s difficult to tell what’s the truth. Though in this case, you might already be dead.

“You are not dead.”

The voice is smooth like honey, yet stern and powerful all at once. Never have you heard this voice before, but you feel…comforted. Safe. Things you usually don’t ever feel as a demigod since monsters are always lurking. But at this moment, you feel yourself relaxing—letting go of your worries.

In the vacant space that was before you moments ago is now a beautiful woman. The finest silk is draped across her body, accentuating her feminine curves. Beads of gold and precious jewels adorn her wrists and fingers. Her hair is as dark as ebony and her eyes—her eyes reveal a storm, much like your own.

“Athena,” you breathe, recognizing her immediately.

Like any other demigod, you’ve always imagined what it would be like to meet your godly parent. Most of the kids at camp have never had any sort of direct interaction with the gods, besides being officially claimed. You’ve always heard that the gods are too busy, though maybe it’s just because they have too many children to keep up with.

You have only ever felt your mother—through signs—when in danger. So, finally seeing her and directly hearing her voice placates you.

The goddess of wisdom and battle strategy takes a step closer to you, and the act seems to knock the wind out of your lungs. Your senses are filled with the aroma of olives and nectar; it’s almost too much. Just when you think you’re going to succumb to these sensations, one sharp look from Athena pacifies you.

“Calm yourself, child,” she seems to chastise, like an actual mother would do. “I thought I created you better than this.”

You’re at a loss for words. “Did I do something wrong? I just—I’m shocked to see you…”

At the trail of your words, Athena can tell that you’re holding back. For just a moment, her eyes soften in the slightest. “I know I am not the most involved in your life”—an understatement of the century, you think— “but I am proud to be your mother.”

“Really?” You feel like a child seeking approval.

“Just because I do not always intervene in your life, it does not mean I am not watching over you,” she says. “I always have, my dear.”

Warmth pools in your stomach at her genuine disposition. “Thank you…mom.”

A soft grin lights Athena’s face, and you see the curve of your own smile in hers. You try to encase this moment in your mind; you don’t want to forget a single bit of it. Her smile, the way she smells, how her hair is pinned up—you want to remember it all.

“So, why are you here now?” you can’t help but wonder.

“Physically, I am not with you,” she admits, “because you are not awake.”

“You said I didn’t die…” in the water.

Athena nods. “Yes, you are very much alive. Just asleep. I came here to tell you to wake up.”

“And how do I do that?”

“That I cannot help you with,” she sighs. “It is something you must do on your own. However, I think, perhaps, finding something of motivation should do the trick.”

Motivation? Was waking up not motivating enough? Why did this have to be so difficult? As you think of a possible valid reason to wake up, you lock eyes with your mother. How strange that you have the same eyes as her.

“I believe you know what motivates you,” her eyes twinkle for a second, and you would’ve missed it if you weren’t paying attention. “Think a little deeper, dear. I am sure something will spring to mind.”

“I have no idea what you’re talking about,” you deadpan.

“I think you do. In fact, I am almost positive it is wading through your mind at this very moment.”

“Mom.”

“Daughter.”

You blink. “Are you being serious right now?”

“I think that Jeon boy is rather interesting, would you agree?”

You release a breath. “The son of Poseidon? I thought you hated the sea god.”

Athena’s brows furrow. “I do—that rivalry has withstood ages. Poseidon is a pompous idiot, and I will stand by that statement until the end of my immortality. However, I do have to admit I sometimes do not hate his offspring.”

“I don’t like Jeon Jeongguk.”

“I never said you did,” the goddess nearly laughs, and you freeze.

You feel heat rise up your chest and spread across your face. “I didn’t mean it like that.”

“Of course not, dear,” Athena muses, clearly struggling to keep a smile off her face.

“He annoys me, mother,” you sigh, attempting to move past your momentary lapse of character. “Like a literal thorn in my side.”

“All I am going to say is, I have been watching you these last few summers. And I have never seen anyone exude as much passion as you have when it comes to that boy,” she says. “Remember, love and hate are two sides of the same coin.”

You roll your eyes. “There is no such thing as love between Jeongguk and I. It is all hate.”

Athena gives you a knowing look, but she doesn’t tease you again. Instead, she takes another step closer to you—mere inches away now—and brings a hand up to brush your hair behind your ear. For a second, her stormy eyes become a kaleidoscope of colors; as if every emotion is passing across. Colors you’ve never seen make an appearance and you try to take them all in—swearing you’ll never forget a single one.

“Wake up, okay? I will see you soon.”

As the last word slips past her lips, the image of your mother begins to fade. Almost foolishly, you reach a hand out to stop the disintegration. But with a blink, she’s gone and you’re all alone again.

Only now, the emptiness of the space begins to suck you in. And you allow it; you allow the darkness to devour you. Maybe the fates have decided to pluck your string for real this time. Still, your mother’s words ring in the back of your mind.

Motivation.

You think hard about what motivates you. For one, your father—he motivates you; though, not necessarily anymore since you’re focused on camp. That’s another thing—your cabin; they motivate you to be a great leader, though you don’t necessarily do it for their approval. So, what really motivates you then?

Almost shamelessly, you know what your greatest motivation of all is—the person who has pushed you, indirectly and nearly accidentally, to do everything you’ve done for the last five summers. The person you have wanted to surpass. The person who irritates you to no end, yet you can’t seem to escape.

Your mother was right, but you don’t want to admit it—not even to yourself.

This is so silly, you can’t help but think. I can barely tolerate him…why is he always the root of all my problems? Though, I guess being a pain in the ass does result in a good source of motivation.

Suddenly, the darkness around you begins to crumble, and brightness fills your senses. The light is warm, and you feel yourself being transported.

Then, your eyes open
