The first few times you laughed at his jokes or sarcastic comments, even if they weren't funny, he was weirded out; then, he understood you just thought he was really funny, and he liked it when you laughed

When you laugh at his comments, he acts like Kazuma while he talks to Yukina: he blushes deeply, stutters slightly and starts acting a little stupid and strange

However, he tries not to let you know how much he likes your laugh but he doesn't succeed too much

Know he'll get offended if you don't laugh at his jokes

He knew he loved you when he first heard you laugh at one of his comments: he understood he wanted you to keep laughing forever

In fact, he turned the same color as his hair the first time he saw you like that

However, he never thought of himself as a funny person, so your laughter confused him at first too

Unlike Yusuke, he don't make more jokes or sarcastic comments, because he's afraid you might find him excessive

Now he blushes slightly and smiles softly when you laugh and when he sees you are amused by him

At first, he thought you were either crazy or you didn't understand his comments, but then he realized you just found him funny

He likes to act like he's some callous tough guy, but really he's a huge softie.

Can get annoyed by your dullness, but other than that this boy is whipped

Yusuke is the furthest thing from book smart, but he's very street smart.

You on the other hand, aren't smart at all.

The amount of times he's had to pull you out of oncoming traffic is insane.

Yusuke's known you since he and Keiko were in diapers. 

And even then he thought you were a strange kid.

He was never the best at making new friends, and you'd been around long enough for him to grow fond of your strange habits. So~he didn't mind you tagging along.

Always getting into fights, always ditching school, always getting into trouble just because he could.

It should've come as no shock that you'd get after him for his behavior. Like the rest of the people in his life.

You'd caught him one day after school. Yusuke having been in a fight, which he of course was punished for by Iwamoto. Even though he wasn't the one that started it.

You had grabbed his arm, thinking he was skipping again.

But when he turned around you could see various scratches littering his face, along with a purple swelling under his eye.

“What happened?” You asked.

“None of your business.” He dismissed.

He was already having a bad day. He didn't need you to accidentally make it worse. Yet as always, you didn't seem to get the hint.

“Did you get into a fight?”

“I said it was none of your business.” He snapped before adding, “Not like I need another lecture today.” 

Keiko had chewed him out enough, and he still had his mom to deal with at home. And now you wanted to nag him too? Great. Just great.

He waited for the inevitable “How could you be so careless!” And, “What were you thinking!”

Instead he was met with silence.

He looked up and noticed your hurt expression before you turned to leave.

Instantly he started to panic.

For whatever reason, he couldn't stand to see you upset at him. You, who always had something to say with your dopey smile. Who always tried to help even if you didn't know how.

No, he didn't like your downcast expression at all.

So this time it was him stopping you.

“Hey! I didn't mean it like that…Look, I got jumped, okay? But I put those bastards in their place, so don't worry about it.” He decided to test his luck and hug you.

When you didn't tense up or pull away, he allowed himself to relax against you.

 “Let's just go home.” 

“Okay…Wait, does that mean we're having a sleepover?”

He gave a small laugh before grabbing your hand and leading you to his house.

Safe to say he's got a huge soft spot for you.

Your spirit awareness is even higher than Kuwabara’s.

You were probably the only person who could see Yusuke's ghost floating around after he died.

Asking him “why are you haunting my house?” 

He figures he might as well explain his situation, much to Botan's dismay. But when was he to ever care about the rules.

It's during that time he finally gets to see you fight.

10/10 your biggest cheerleader.

He'd asked you to watch over Kuwabara when the doofus had promised not to fight for a whole week.

You two got along well, which wasn't surprising considering you had not a single brain cell to spare for hostility.

It wasn't long before the two of you were cornered by a rival junior high gang. You'd told Kuwabara to run on ahead and that you'd catch up.

That was when the leader decided to run his mouth. What would inevitably be his undoing.

“Now that Urameshi’s dead, this turf is ripe for the taking.”

It was probably the first time Yusuke's ever seen you actually mad.

“What did you say?” 

One minute. That's all it took for you to beat the gang of seven.

Using one of them like a bowling ball and throwing him towards the rest of them.

All the while Yusuke is cheering in the background above you.

“Aim for the kneecaps! You got them, Y/n! Toss the bastard again!”

He's very proud of you. And his pride only swells when your strength grows along with his.

Joining the dark tournament and still kicking ass. Winning most of your matches with hardly a scratch. Except for Toguro. We don't talk about that shhhh!

Like I said he can get annoyed, but he usually puts up really well with your antics.

You call Kurama rose boy, not because of his powers, but because as you put it, “His hair’s the color of roses.”

It fits, but for the wrong reasons.

You steal Hiei's bandage around his eye, and Yusuke is practically fighting for his life to stop him from attacking you.

“You're supposed to look someone in the eyes when you talk to them. All your eyes.”

And he's crying trying to stop his laughter before Hiei sets his sights on him next.

You once mimicked his spirit gun with your hand and actually shot out a beam.

His mother never did let him live it down with the huge hole in the ceiling.

The realization he liked you wasn't some great build up or special moment. 

He just woke up one day and decided it was you. 

His reason for trying to be a little better as a person. Why he was fighting so hard during both tournaments. Why he was so willing to die in his battle with Sensui.

He doesn't get the chance to confess. No…You do it first.

Right after he'd won and became in control of his body after defeating Sensui, you wrapped your arms around him and kissed him.

Pressing your forehead softly to his.

“I'm so happy you're okay.”

Yusuke can get jealous, especially if the other person doesn't get the hint.

And if someone's flirting with you before you're together. 

He likes to glare over your shoulder until they get nervous and leave. Then he'll feign an innocent look when you turn around.

But if he's with people he trusts, he doesn't bat an eye. They know he'll throw down over your affections.

Yusuke can be romantic, but only when he really tires. Usually he prefers to tease you.

Expect to be called: babe, baby, sugar, hot stuff, and if he's feeling really vulnerable- sweetheart.

If he wants to be a menace to everyone around him he'll slip in a ‘pookiebear.’ But never unironically.

You know how he proposes to Keiko at the end of the series?

With you he knows a normal proposal won't work. So he just kinda puts the idea out there.

“You're gonna have to buy your own cups when we're married. It's getting harder and harder to find ones that fit with our house’s aesthetic.”

"We should have a beach house wedding, dont’cha think? Maybe Hiei will finally show up that way."

And it pays off.

You bring him a little box one day and tell him to open it.

He shows up at your apartment unannounced, like always, hours after his ramen stand closes for the night. It’s not like Yusuke to ring you up anyways, since he thinks all forms of technology are “a fuckin’ headache,” and after the first few visits, you’ve come to expect his knocking at all hours of the night. Welcome it, in fact.

“Yo,” Yusuke greets. He’s wearing his favorite green jacket, but you’re surprised to see his hair isn’t slicked-up in its usual style–he must have showered before heading over here. You did mention last time that the smell of pork broth clinging to him was kind of a mood-killer. In his hand is a plastic bag, holding what you have no doubt is food. The one thing you can say about Yusuke is that he’s always considerate enough to bring grub whenever he swings by.

“Gonna let a guy in?” He shudders, hunching his shoulders up. “It’s freezing!”

“Was hardly expecting to see you,” you quip, leading him inside.

“Yeah, well, I hope you weren’t expecting Santa.” He shuts the door with a kick, deposits the bag on your coffee table, and slumps into the couch cushions, looking entirely at home. You suppose it’s not a long-shot, considering how often he’s been over.

“Hmm… you’re a lot less jolly than him,” you muse, plopping down next to him. “Less round too.”

“Thanks! I try to stay in shape,” he says, patting his stomach. Despite his sarcasm, you can definitely attest to his stellar physique. “Gotta, after all.” He sighs. “All that ramen would get to me otherwise.”

“Is that why you’re giving me the leftovers?” you ask wryly. “Trying to fatten me up instead?”

“Leftovers?” He furrows his brows, and you’re surprised to hear he actually sounds offended. “(Y/N), what are you talking about?! I always make you a fresh batch. Besides, I’m sick of all these noodles. This,” he starts, unwrapping the bag’s contents, “is Chinese takeout.”

You grin, rolling your eyes as you help him. “I still say you’re trying to make me fat.”

He scoffs. “It’s not like anyone would complain—hell, I wouldn’t complain if your ass got bigger.” He waggles his brows, sneaking a glance at your rear, and you laugh, smacking him on the shoulder.

The two of you dig into the food, reruns of your favorite sitcom playing in the background. When the both of you are full and satisfied, empty takeout cartons littering your table, you lean back into the couch. Your head rests on Yusuke’s shoulder, and he drapes your quilt over your bodies (He does make sure to grumble about your tendency to hog the blanket, though). His hand rests on your thigh, and the heat of his palm seems to disperse through your leggings. You shiver.

“What? You cold or something?”

“You could say that,” you say, distracted, shifting under his touch.

“It’s a yes or no answer.”

“Then I guess I’m saying no, it’s actually getting kind of warm in here, don’t you think?”

Yusuke shoots you a confused look. You decide to show him what you mean—he is a man of action after all. You move so that you’re straddling his lap, all pretense of watching the TV gone.

“So, if you were Santa, would I get my wish granted?”

He pauses. “Depends,” he finally says, gaze darting to your chest. Yusuke’s laser-focused on the ample cleavage your tank top provides, and you have to clear your throat for him to break his stare. “Uh, what is it you want?”

“There’s this guy….” you begin, curling your fingers into the hair at the nape of his neck. “And… we have a thing.”

“Uh-huh…” he says, fully intending for you to go on, his hands sliding up to cup your ass. You don’t miss his attempt to angle you towards the tent in his pants, and you bite back a smile, resisting his guidance.

You laugh. Yusuke deposits you on the kitchen counter, then his lips are on yours, quelling your mirth. With his hips pressed tight against yours, you can feel just how excited he is. A roll of your hips has him groaning into your mouth.

“You’ve got… way too many clothes on,” you say. You reach for his jacket and yank it off. It doesn’t even hit the ground before his hands are up your shirt, and you moan as you feel his fingers cup your breasts. You tilt your head back, and his mouth finds its way to your neck, his teeth biting down. You gasp, bucking into his hips. He groans.

Your hands dart for his belt buckle. You’ve become a pro at undoing it swiftly, but as his jeans slip down his legs you come face-to-face with—

“Pfft.” You have to stifle a laugh.

“What? Laundry day is tomorrow!”

“Or were you just… excited to see me?” you ask, raising a brow. You grasp his unclothed length and pump it, still feeling the vestiges of humor at the fact that he came to your place commando. “I guess it does make things easier.”

“Mm, yeah that too.” Yusuke grunts, his jaw clenching.

He tugs impatiently at your leggings, and you laugh, removing your hands from his body to slip them down your legs. He wastes no time before delving his fingers right into you, without warning. Your breaths stutter, and he swears.

“Damn, you’re pretty excited too, huh.”

“I-I was hoping you’d drop by.” You gasp as his fingers start pumpinginto you, much like how he plans to with his cock. “Did you bring a condom?” you ask, trying to hold onto your last thread of sense before you snap—

Yusuke swears. “Shit, that’s the one thing I forgot.”

“Well,” you say, dazed by the feel of him, velvet steel, against your palm, at the way his fingers, so thick, are still thrusting into you. “I guess as long as you… pull out…”

“Yeah?”

“Mmhm.”

“Well then, what are we waiting for?”

Yusuke pulls his fingers out of you, and you nearly whine at the loss, but then he’s dragging your ass to the edge of the counter. You spread your legs wide, propping yourself up with your arms, and he enters you in one, swift thrust. You jerk against him. He’s hot and hard and fills every part of you. He groans lowly.

“Fuck, this is—“

“Y-yeah—”

“So tight and hot.”

He slams his hips into you, and you moan. Your legs wrap around his thighs as he thrusts in-and-out of you in a messy, erratic rhythm. Yusuke grunts as you clench around him, his hands gripping the counter before him.

It takes him a second to mull it over. When he speaks, his voice is uncharacteristically quiet. “You mean it? You’d take off from your fancy job?”

You hum, thinking about it yourself. “For you? Yeah. I would.”

Your eyes are slipping shut again, but you don’t stop them this time. To your surprise, you feel Yusuke’s weight leave you, and instead he’s lifting you up. You yelp, your eyes snapping open to see him carrying you, bridal style, to your room.

“Better rest up. You’re taking off work tomorrow and we’re getting breakfast first thing. My treat.”

“You’ll need it for all the activities we’re gonna be doing.” He grins cheekily.

You went to watch the  dark tournament, you were worried sick about the boys, but more specifically Yusuke, your stupid and troublemaker of a boyfriend.

As you sat there watching match after match you grew worried about yourself, Shizuru and Yukina as well. A lot of debries were flying your way, alas no deadly things on your way yet.

On this fight Hiei and the mysterious fighter were out of the scene due to a scheme. You were lived, it was not fair! Kurama, Kuwabara and Yusuke were handling all by themselves.

Kurama and Kuwabara were in pretty bad shape so Botan went to help them out. So that meant Yusuke was fighting the leader of the opposing team a guy named Jin.

Much like Yusuke you got frustrated whenever he went up to the skies - that should be consider out of ring right? Right? But the referee said it wasn't, much to your dismay.

You noticed it was going to be rough for Yusuke, Jin had both a solid attack and defense going on there and Yusuke was a little tired from the previous fight.

As Yusuke got that first punch on the face you got on the edge of your seat. The fight went on and honestly? It was hard to keep up, those two were fast! At least Yusuke seemed to be having fun.

Eventually Yusuke seemed to have a plan to win. He launched a very powerful attack toward Jin, the youkai was sent flying off or did he pulled away again? This trick was so very annoying!

Soon you heard the noise of something falling and Shizuru rushing you and Yukina away from your seats, Shizuru went ahead followed by you and Yukina. You grabbed the frail girls hands and marched after Shizuru's lead. As the three of you were close to leaving the roll, Yukina tripped, out of reflex you pulled her to you to shield her and pull her away.

The roof where you three were at collapse, but seems like you were not fast enough on getting out. A piece of debrie ended up rebouncing and hitting you on the head, on the moment you shielded Yukina from her fall.

You were knocked unconscious for a few moments, you woke up to Yukina gently holding you head on her lap, but you were very dizzy and a little aloof:

Yukina: Y/n! Y/n! Are you ok?

Shizuru: Hey, Yukina, can't you heal them?

Yukina: Yes, but I need them to be awake to be sure they are fine!

Shizuru: Damn, Y/n!

Y/n: I... I, huh...

Yukina:!! You are awake! I am sorry for causing you such harm!

Y/n: It's... It's fine.

Shizuru: Don't worry Y/N, will get you on top notch shape soon!

Shizuru balanced you on her back and started to head to the hotel room you guys were using.

Yukina tagged along, trying to talk to you the whole way so you wouldn't faint again and to keep you thinking.

As soon as you all reached the room, Shizuru placed you on the couch and went to grab some ice for you. Yukina started her healing routine on you, which at this point you were a little more yourself:

Yukina: Y/n, I am so sorry! Because of me-

Y/n: Hey, it's ok. I will be fine soon, you are here right?

Yukina: Yes, but...

Y/n: Then I will be fine!

You tried to lift your head and a throbbing headache stopped you on your tracks:

Yukina: Please stay still! You got injured badly!

You could feel your hair sticky and you were a little light headed. You lost track of time while Yukina was caring for you. You noticed Shizuru standing close by and grabbing whatever the girl asked for, she would often ask how your head was doing - they didn't allow you to close your eyes for a minute. You heard a knock and saw a familiar face: Botan entered the room, she was looking for Yukina to help heal the boys. When she found you there, injured too, she causes a little ruckus:

Botan: What happend? Y/n?

Shizuru: A debrie fell on their head.

Yukina: it's all my fault. If I-

Y/n: It's fine, I will heal.

After a little discussion Yukina agreed to leave you on Shizuru's care, you seemed to be better so she could help the fighters a bit. You felt guilty that she wasted some precious stamina healing your head wound:

Y/n: Sorry, because of me you used some of your energy...

Yukina: It's ok! It's the least I could do for you, you saved me after all!

Shiruzu sighed heavely:

Shizuru: You do know she is a high level Youkai right? I am sure she can do a lot more than just one patient at a time.

Yukina blushed a bit and mumble something about not being that powerful. But it made an awful a lot of sense what Shizuru said. Botan rushed Yukina out after this to aid the boys.

As you were chatting with Shizuru about nothing at all, you suddenly heard the door swing open - Yusuke was back and very worked up:

Yusuke: Y/n? Y/n? Are you OK?

You braces the pain to sit up:

Y/n: Yusuke! I am fine it's nothing!

Yusuke: Nothing? Yukina told me what happened!

Y/n: Yeah and she healed me so I will be fine!

He rushed to kneel beside you to see and talk to you. At this moment Shizuru excused herself to smoke.

Yusuke: Let me see your head!

Y/n: What? No, go heal yourself first, you are a wreck!

Yusuke: I am suppose to be a wreck, you are not!

Y/n: I am fine, really.

Yusuke: Maybe you should go back. You got hurt just watching me...

Y/n: No! I want to be here with you!

Yusuke: Be with me from there! You know, in spirit!

Y/n: You are ridiculous!

You huffed and as you did your head throbbed a bit, which made you flinch:

Yusuke: See? Not ok!

Y/n: Oh bite me, I am fine!

You crossed your arms and looked away from him, puffing your cheeks. You heard him mumbling a thousand curses and something about you being stubborn. He got up, which made you think he was going to leave, but to your surprise, he didn't just leave.

He leaned over you, caging you on the couch and left a sweet kiss on your forehead. He got up and said you were " his stubborn idiot, so you should heal soon". With this he left.

You were surprised and as red as tomato. You didn't have time to call him back again, you wanted to hug him and smack his head, he always made you worry so much with all this fighting!

Then, it hitted you: did he win the fight? At this thought you called out Shizuru and turned a little too fast, causing another pain rush:

Shizuru: Take it easy now. What is it?

Y/n: Do you know how the fight ended?

Shizuru: Seems like Yusuke won.

Y/n: Ah I see...

You smiled. Of course he did, that's Yusuke after all! Upon seeing your smile Shizuru didn't leave it cheap:

Shizuru: Worried much about the lover boy that you forgot about the match?

You flushed and spoke really fast:

Y/n: No! I mean, I was worried is just, I didn't had time to ask - he left and he got annoying and-

Shizuru laughed at you:

Shizuru: That's so cute! Thought, I could barely catch a thing you said.

- Since he has a lot of enemies, they will use you against him, and when they do, trust me they’ll get spirit gun-ed outside of existence lol

- If your injury is a minor one, then he isn’t really all that worried! He just lets you deal with it since he knows you can take care of it yourself.

- But if its a serious one...expect him to get really mad, he’ll start asking you questions like ‘Who did this to you?’ or ‘Give me their name!’ basically like an angry Bakugo.

- Once you give him a name, he’ll go and teach that person or demon a lesson. Don’t worry about him, his not the one getting hurt after all :)

- When his done, he’ll ask Genkai (Because you were brought to her) how your doing, and ones he knows your gonna be fine. He’ll rest easy and go to you and scold you.

- In reality, he really is worried about you...I mean you've stuck yourself to him this far, and he knows how insufferable he is sometimes.

- So don’t leave him early...alright?

I will explain: a match up is an event where you describe yourself and I will choose someone that I think matches with you!

The scenario I asked for was for the character I chose in the match up!

• You were terribly busy these past few days. You didn't even know what day of the week it was.

• Being this busy also meant not having much time to give attention to your boyfriend, Yusuke.

• He wasn't exactly clingy, but he did want some of your attention.

• You felt horrible because you couldn't give him much time. So you often saw him sulking around and pouting whenever you gave a little " sorry! "Smile."

• Finally a break was in sight! You were so happy to have some time to just relax. You went to tell Yusuke right away!

Paring: Yusuke Urameshi x Reader

Warnings: None? Just a lot of fluff! I am still an 18+ blog though, so if you are a minor please do not interact!

A/N: It has been a very long time since I have written anything so this is incredibly rusty and short (motherhood knocked me out so please be kind). I wanted to create a short sweet Christmas gift for my sweet wife @lady-lunaaa for a man we both love dearly. Merry Christmas my wife! I hope you enjoy it! Thank you so much to @gixxie for reading it over and pumping me with positivity about it!

You sat nestled together on the plushy azure couch with hardly an inch of space dividing you and your partner. Splayed over the sofa, with your torso pressed to Yusuke’s toned chest. A plush forest green blanket, was spread out over the two of you. The fireplace crackled in the background, providing pop and hiss every now and then, and the earthy scent of burning wood filled your nose. Snow drifted down slowly outside the window during that dark winter evening.

While the fireplace gave more than enough heat to keep the two of you warm, you preferred to bask in the warmth radiating from Yusuke. Muscular arms were encircled around your stomach, pulling you closer to him. Evenings like this were routine for you, especially on these frosty nights. Yusuke knew how your hands and feet became almost numb because of the cool weather. And while he insisted the reason for these late-day snuggles was meant to keep you warm, you had a suspicion he relished in these quiet moments.

Life was busy and bustling this time of year for the both of you. Yusuke was always swamped with his Ramen shop, with a never-ending stream of customers coming. He worked around the clock with no breaks. After the two of you would arrive home, eat, and sometimes share a bath together, you would climb onto the couch with him like this. A warm drink in your hands to help ease the chill. Tonight your mug was filled halfway with a spiced apple cider. A slight citrus aroma tickled your nose from the smoky steam wafting from your beverage. You lifted the cup to your lips and took a small sip of the drink, careful not to burn your tongue. Letting out a soft ah of contentment, you removed one of your hands from your cup and interlaced them with one of his large hands.

“You feeling better?” Yusuke said in a low rumbly voice, a smirk evident by his playful tone. His warm breath was behind your ear, leaving goosebumps in its wake. It had been a shitty day from the jerk that cut you off on the trip to work and caused your hot tea to spill when slammed on your breaks to the incessant cough your co-worker sported throughout the day.

But those alone times, wrapped up in Yusuke’s warm arms, wiped all the stress away. He made you forget every agitation that poked at you.

“Yes, I’m feeling much better,” you replied with a small smile adorned on your face as you leaned your head back onto his muscular shoulder. You took in his warm amber and vanilla scent that helped calm your nerves.

“Ah yes, the miracle worker does it again,” Yusuke joked as he moved his other palm to your side and began tickling. You tried to suppress your giggles while simultaneously trying not to spill your hot cider on him.

“Yu-Yusuke, s-STOP,” you managed to call out through giggles as Yusuke finally ended his torment. Those moments were the ones you never wanted to forget. They made each day worth continuing, knowing you were coming home to a loving husband that would wrap you up and protect you from the world. He would let you forget everything wrong that happened and go out of his way to put a smile on your face. Your protector, your lover, your best friend. He was all of that and more.

Yusuke placed a small peck on your temple and said in a soft voice, “You know something I love even more than your beautiful smile?” You could hear the amusement in his voice which brought an even bigger smile onto yours.

“What is that, Yusuke?” You replied, playing along, knowing what he would say next. He always ended every cuddle session with the same statement.

“I love you more,” He said much softer now and reached for your mug to take it from you. His hand slowly brushed yours as he took the cup and set it on the wooden coffee table in front of the couch with a slight clunk. He maneuvered himself on the sofa, so he was sitting facing you and motioned for you to do the same. You followed his lead and situated yourself to sit face to face. Yusuke placed a large hand on the right side of your face and moved closer to you until his soft lips brushed against yours.

You wish you could stay in this moment forever. But if you did, you wouldn’t get to experience all these beautiful feelings again tomorrow.

♡As exciting as a female version of him may sound and be, Yusuke needs a partner who is a good giiirl! Keep the feisty attitude because he just loves that, but get rid of those bad actions.

♡He will try to reform the shit out of her on his own accord. Pushing her to go to school and scolding her if she doesn’t. Sort of taking on the role Keiko was to him. Though he is hypocritical as he still skips school and class whenever he wants, but that’s not the point!

♡Being that you’re homeless, you steal from stores for clothes and food. And he gets on you for that as well. He tells you that you don’t have to steal, as he will give his last to make sure you’re okay. And he usually only has his last anyways, so he really cares.

♡Yusuke also hates that your prone to getting into lots of fights, even though you claim it’s not your fault that they keep bothering you. Seeing your face swollen or your body all scrapped up really just kills him.

♡”If you keep up this act you’re going to die out there! Listen to me for once!”

♡Yusuke relates to you on the level of having an extremely neglectful family, but he doesn’t see it as an excuse for his Princess to be acting out like she is. And he doesn’t have an issue telling you that you need to act more lady-like.

♡Yusuke’s mom is aware that you’re homeless, and either allow you to stay the night from time to time, or she may allow you to live in because she feels like you influencing Yusuke to start doing good himself? Her only fear and concern in that she did get pregnant at 14, so she is a bit scared that you two together in a room may influence some… behavior...
