I cannot stress enough how important it is to do silly, frivolous things that serve no other purpose than making you happy.

this week i went to the cinema, i embroidered a sweatshirt and i started reading the goldfinch, all to avoid being too sad. i think i did it pretty great to keep a balance between indoors and outdoors activies. i'm trying to build little landscapes of joy wherever i go.

I truly encourage you to add things that simply bring you joy to your list of things to do that day.
it doesn't have to be big, it can be as simple as making your favourite drink or food for lunch or spending some time on a hobby or watching a show you enjoy.
adding things to look forward to and giving yourself time to experience those things is just as important as doing every other thing on that list.
you're allowed to plan to do things for no other reason than it makes you happy.

When Chuuya left, Dazai broke into a million pieces. And then, two young boys knocked on his door.

15 Productivity Hacks 💻💭📝💡
Use the Pomodoro Method. Work in focused intervals (typically 25 minutes) followed by a short break. This helps you maintain high levels of focus and gives regular breaks to rest.
If a something takes less than two minutes, do it immediately.
Schedule specific blocks of time for specific activities. This helps in dedicating focus to one task at a time.
Group similar tasks together and tackle them in one go. For example, respond to all emails at once rather than sporadically throughout the day.
Contrary to popular belief, multitasking can reduce productivity. Focus on one task at a time for better efficiency.
Use apps and tools like Trello, Asana, or Notion to manage tasks and projects.
Use the Eisenhower Box or the ABCD method to categorize tasks based on their urgency and importance.
Keep your workspace tidy. A clean workspace can enhance focus and reduce distractions.
Even if one doesn’t exist, setting a deadline can create a sense of urgency.
Large tasks can be overwhelming. Break them into smaller steps to make them more manageable.
Aim for excellence, not perfection. Sometimes waiting for something to be perfect can lead to procrastination.
If someone else can do a task, delegate it. This allows you to focus on tasks that only you can do.
Working for long hours without a break can lead to burnout. Short, regular breaks can help maintain high levels of focus.
Use apps to play background music/noise that enhances concentration or block all notifications to prevent you from checking your phone.
At the end of the week, review what you’ve accomplished and what needs to be adjusted for the coming days.

🍃 Trying to get out of a rut 🍃
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
new semester, new me, am i right?
last semester I realized i was getting super overworked and i wasn't getting enough rest to make up for it, even tho I was sleeping 8 hours everynight and doing the routine that usually works better for me. But i didn't work bc of the amount of stress I was in, and now that routine does not work for me at all. So, even tho i was scared to change a routine that i knew i liked, i decided to change everything. but EVERYTHING
set a decent sleep schedule. Even tho i was sleeping 8 hours everynight, those 8 hours could be from 2am to 10am or 10pm to 6am, it was a mess. So now, im trying to roughly wake up and go to bed at the same time everyday
I also changed my breakfast. Even tho it's my comfort food, it started to work too well, and now it makes me fall right back to bed with my comfort movie. So that had to change. And now my new breakfast takes a while to prepare, so i use that time to drink water and clean up around the kitchen while breakfast is getting ready.
Mandatory rest time. But like, intentional rest time. 30 min before going to sleep, i'll try to do something that makes me feel more rested. Hopefully no screens, but i can't be that strict with myself. Most days I'll just put on some soft music and prepare the next day's outfit etc, but on good days i also manage to read for a bit.
change my usual study places. Ideally change it as often as possible. Im too used to my old study places, so now I can't be as productive there.
new study playlists. i went throught too many playlists while in college. Sometimes I would study while listening to musicals, then asmr, then disney instrumentals, then brown noise. It's important for me to choose the "vibe" im going for asap, so i stay somewhat consistent until im bored of that especific playlist again.
did I already post multiple times similar things? Yes, i did. But i needed to write and post this all over again bc i tend to forget about my own routines

very random journaling/diary keeping advice, but since i’ve never had consistency with what i post, here’s some stuff that’s helped me keep a semi-constant journal since 6th grade:
if you’re feeling too tired for sentences, bullet points (like this!) are fun
take note not just what you’ve been doing, but what you’ve been thinking about that day
if you want to, you can revisit past events even if it has nothing to do with the day (just make sure to mark down the approximate date of that past day for lack of future confusion)
write down lists of books/movies/tv shows or music you’ve read/seen/heard and your opinion about them
mix-up your standard format with colorful or unusual pencils/pens, adding in doodles/stickers/cutouts of stuff, writing vertically
every few months, word-vomit about anything that feels significant/important at that time of your life and don’t worry about consistency
occasionally write in 2nd person to yourself
cut up a paper bag and tape together a DIY cover for the book. the shittier it looks the more spirit it will have, and in general, i write more honestly when you don’t have to live up to how professional the journal’s cover looks
swear. it’s very therapeutic.
go back and annotate stuff you’ve written ages ago as if your present self has traveled back in time to meet your past self and challenge/comfort them
