The second week of classes has been nothing short of hectic. Balancing online classes with with has proven to be more difficult than originally planned. Fortunately I’m able to study at work from time to time or just let work provide me with an area of joy from brewing coffee.

Today was my relaxation day after a tough week. I obtained a few new books and decided to read in a bubble bath to help my muscles and mind.

I’ve decided to take up @studyblr ‘s 30 DoL challenge as I’m feeling particularly unmotivated at the moment and need something to stop the days from blurring into one another. Took a break from studying the historical context of Altered States of Consciousness, to go and pick hedgerow strawberries!

These tiny little wild strawberries are only in season for about two weeks in June/July, and it was worth getting rained on to pick them! They’re so delicious, and just this small bowl gave the whole room a lovely strawberry scent.

unrelated caption: Today, I made a database of Korean Vocabulary on Notion. They’re categorized into Nouns and Verbs (Action/Descriptive) then into sub-categories like countries, food, drinks... It’s a tiring task but it’s going to be worth it in the future ! Anyways, I enrolled in another online course (surprise) by Tesda. The modules are long, not kidding, and they’re a lot.

Remember, you don’t have to be productive all the time especially during this pandemic we’re experiencing. Safety and survival comes first. Please take care of you health (physical and mental health).

30 Days of Learning

introduction post

My aim for these next 30 days is to keep up my Chinese and Korean. I hope that this challenge will help me practice and learn new grammar and vocab everyday.

Korean: learn all of the basic vocab and grammar using online resources so that I can speak, understand and write a wide range of general topics and then easily progress to intermediate level.

Chinese: although I am supposed to have classes, they have been cancelled since lockdown. I am therefore going to learn all the HSK 4 vocab using the app HSKOnline as well as practice the questions. Hopefully I’ll be able to take the test soon...

I seriously hope that this challenge will motivate me to practice my language skills frequently.

started my first book today! it's a memoir from a city dweller turned organic farmer. sustainable farming is super interesting to me, and I can't wait to dive into this book! the little bit I've read so far has been really good and informative.

Hi guys! So I’m going to be taking part in @studyblr #30dol for July ! I will be starting university in September so this is a really useful challenge ✨

My goals for this month are:

Read Le petit prince

Go over basic grammar in french eg. Most common verbs etc (I will be using @argyllcrice instagram challenge as a guide !

I also want to study more art history so I will be using the books I have !

Some less important goals I have are to practice piano and drawing.

I post updates and any helpful hacks I have everyday or every 2 days!

1/30 days of learning

even though i said differently in the master post, i now decided to do swedish for the 30 days of learning challenge!! if you don’t know what that is, check the post out on my blog. so excited to learn with all of you this month!!

as i’m just starting out and have a lot of uni work besides this, i decided to focus on vocabulary first using anki and Mondly languages (screen of today’s progress below). they say 500 words is enough for A1, so i’m not too far off already!! (i basically didn’t have any Swedish knowledge prior to today except hej)

additionally, i’m listening to coffee break swedish to listen to an actual Swedish Person speak, talk about common usages and get some culture insights.

my motivation for choosing Swedish is mainly that I’d love to do a semester abroad there through Erasmus. their health care system is amazing, as well as the work ethic and environment. the language is also a perfect mix of the ones I’m already fluent in, which gives me a head start!! also discovered some amazing music already, and being able to see Ingmar Bergman movies without subtitles...
