I just noticed a little bit ago that the barbatos card in this event goes to part 4, I'm sure with it being a 3 parter and all. You think it'll be almost 400,000 before anyone gets it?

OM: Unannounced Changes

[aka, why I no longer write guides for OM 🙃]

So apparently, the total needed to get the Barbatos UR is 324k points ಠ_ಠ

When the demon event UR requirement went up to 260k, it was basically the end of free-to-play players being able to get all card events.

Now however, the game isn't pay-to-win.

It's whale-to-win.

In order to get the demon UR in an event like this, and consistently in future events, you would have to spend hundreds, and thousands of dollars/pounds.

Solmare themselves confirmed they think this is reasonable by releasing a guaranteed UR+ ticket - that doesn't let you choose your card by the way - for $80 (£75).

That's 80 bucks for the UR from Nightmare, so logically they would then seem to believe an event UR, which is far harder to achieve, is worth many times more.

Sure, not every event will be this long. Probably "only" every second event.

But this isn't a fluke.

In the current event, the only way to get Mammon's outfit is via an SR card. Great! A break for Mammon fans! Lol no. To get the SR requires, for absolutely no reason, you to first get one of the URs from Nightmare.

That's right folks, the Mammon SR is also valued at at 80 bucks.

If you need more proof, have a look at the "celebration" home pictures OM has blessed us with to celebrated the game being 18 months old.

You want Levi's one? Only 1250 DP.

Mammon's one? Only 2500 DP.

Yup, these celebratory gifts could be yours for the ever so small prices of over 80 bucks and over 160 bucks. Probably 100 and 200 bucks, for your celebration. Hooray ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ

Finally, let's look at two more unannounced changed.

Since season two, fans have been struggling to get through the lessons of the games - y'know, the actual plot - because the battle mechanic is so horribly imbalanced.

Got almost double the total strength of your opponents? Well too bad, because they can skill their abilities higher and now you're asleep every time you try and lose.

So everyone will be thrilled to know about this change in the last update -

Some cards have been randomly slowed down.

Yup, now your cards won't all fill their battle gauges at the same speed they used to, costing you critical time against the impossible bosses. One of my main URs I use in battles is now slow 🙃

Secondly!

Jobs are great for earning grimm, daggers, and gems and absolutely nothing else.

Oh, do I hear you say favourite foods?

Not anymore!

Jobs no longer drop the brothers' favourite foods.

Have fun getting the foods that are nobody's favourites, and none of the brothers faves. Noodles, apples, pizza, pie, cupcakes, burgers, sushi - all gone. No way to randomly get those now. Hooray.

So yeah, I wrote this with a bit of a tone because really, the game has always been greedy but this is so utterly blatant, I cannot condone supporting this game.

$80 for a card you can't choose?

$80 for an SR card?

$200 for a Mammon wallpaper?

Events that costs hundreds or even thousands to complete regularly?

Them updating the game to be even more imbalanced and harder?

Folks, I can buy multiple full games for that kind of money, or purchase amazing commissioned art, or, y'know, pay my bills to continue having a roof over my head.

The fandom will live on, we take the best bits and ignore the rest as best we can but seriously.

Don't spend your money on this.

They don't want your loyalty.

They don't care about your love.

They just want every last cent you have.

Reblogging helps content creators put their stuff out there. Why do you think so many people stopped writing fanfic and creating beautiful fanart and edits?
