Facial Success
The smooth, tempered glide upwards of Nyx cheekbones sent a sensation through her face. Feeling a looseness and exfoliation in her face. The serums and smell of vanilla and teakwood fill the air of the small space and sounds of a deep enough waterfall compliments the aesthetician works of announcing her actions while doing the facial procedure. Nyx inhales and exhales deeply during her last bit of facial. Feeling like a weight had been taken off her face, no worries whatsoever. She thanks her for the welcome, looks at the Brochure and feels a delight. " Honestly, Layovers don't have to be so bad, Let the fun begin" and proceeds to her next gem listed in the brochure!

“Hi, my name is Nyx, and I will be flying today, I just want to know how long my flight will be delayed?” “13 hours” says the representative at the airport customer service counter, Nyx tugs at the side of her lip with an annoyed glare in her eyes turns and grabs a brochure. Sitting in the gate area it reads “12 hours of Local Gem Attractions” Nyx Sighs, “I might as well go check it out, I have 13 hours.” Gem 1 is Giardini Palace. This place offers Private Relaxation and Unisex Facials, Body and Foot Massages, this Spa was pleasing to all my senses. Instantly feeling a sense of peace and warmth, the receptionist spoke pleasantly and softly, I was guided and informed about all facials offered.

Airport Scramble
Seemingly fresh air breezes through my hair, noisy announcements filling the air, unseen faces hustling and bustling, vibrant screens listing current flights and delays. I waited through the long line of TSA excited to board my flight to Creoli Preserves, this is an island that has the most beautiful combination of mountains, forestry, and water. I’d bet it cost a lot to live there. Finally! I've made it past TSA and as I am heading towards my gate a loud enthusiastic announcement fills the area of boarding and states that the flight heading to Creoli Preserves is delayed.

What Are Your Intentions? How to Be a Good Person in a Complex World
Have you ever received valuable advice or guidance from someone who had nothing to gain from it? These are examples of altruism and prosocial behavior, two concepts that describe how we act for the benefit of others, even when it costs us something. In this blog post, I will explore what these concepts mean, why they are important, and how they can help us become better people.
I have experienced altruism and prosocial behavior in my life many times. For example, I was offered a job by someone who sacrificed their own position to bring me on board. Altruism is a person's desire to help others even if the cost outweighs the benefit of helping. Prosocial behavior is defined as voluntary actions that are intended to help or benefit another individual or group of individuals. These two concepts are similar in that they both reflect a moral ethic of caring for others.
However, being prosocial is not always easy or straightforward. Sometimes, our interests and desires may conflict with those of others. In these situations, we need to exercise interpersonal morality, which means considering the rights and feelings of everyone involved. We need to balance our own needs and wants with those of others and make ethical decisions that respect everyone's dignity.
Being prosocial also has many advantages for ourselves and others. It can improve our relationships and social skills, enhance our self-esteem and happiness, promote kindness and harmony, and reduce stress and conflict. The more we interact with others in positive ways, the more we can practice and develop our prosocial skills.

This post is in honor of the concept of wellness x wellbeing.
How to Turn Your Weaknesses into Strengths: A Personal Journey of Wellbeing
We all have strengths and weaknesses in different aspects of our wellbeing. Wellbeing is not just about being healthy or happy, but also about being fulfilled, balanced, and connected to ourselves and others. There are 7 types of wellbeing that we can cultivate: intellectual, social, physical, emotional, spiritual, environmental, and occupational. In this article, I will share with you my personal journey of discovering and improving my wellbeing weaknesses, and how they have become sources of growth and resilience for me. I hope that by reading my story, you will be inspired to reflect on your own wellbeing and find ways to turn your challenges into opportunities. 🙌
Intellectual Wellness
Is maintaining optimal cognition for learning, problem solving, and decision making in daily life. What this means to me is to take care of your mind and intellectual attributes. Activities I engage in are Reading, Exercising, and weekly Self Reflecting. I disconnect from social media during specific times of year or for certain events. I’ve set weekly goals and a seasonal workout routine. These are usually curated by the outcome I will be expecting for the month.
Social wellness/Interpersonal skills
Are about the quality connections we have with one another and establishing new relationships. This can get complex because most introverts are naturally weaker with socialism, especially if you are someone whose been through many negative life events and experiences. Next, the two steps I’ve taken to improve this would be filtering my social circle, accepting my personal change and elevation in a positive perspective. I also would recommend having a sense of awareness of yourself, your environment and how others perceive you (don’t care too much though just be aware) all of these steps have helpful for myself hence I am very quiet irl.
Spiritual wellness
Connecting your inner world to the outer world. To strengthen my spiritual wellbeing, I’ve started praying more often. I use my self-evaluation as a guide to help with what I say while I am praying and focus my intentions to produce the outcome I desire. I also have intrusive thoughts while praying and sometimes I get sidetracked and stop, I just recently found a way to minimize those kinds of thoughts which is to repeat the vision of the outcome desired by the prayer. My favorite mantra is as above so below. These steps I am analyzing daily to track my progress and spot any changes in my current habits/lifestyle.
In conclusion, I have shared with you my personal journey of turning my weaknesses into strengths in three aspects of my wellbeing: intellectual, social, and spiritual. I have also explained what each type of wellbeing means to me, and how I improved it through various activities, resources, and goals. I hope that by reading my story, you have learned something new and gained some inspiration for your own wellbeing journey. Remember, wellbeing is not a destination, but a process of continuous learning and growth. You can always find ways to improve your wellbeing and overcome your challenges.
