Special Agent Lokitty Masterlist
This blog archives all of @specialagentlokitty 's works into masterlists so they are easy to find. Please read through the Navigation section to help you find the fics you're looking for!
Updated through: end of 8/23
Navigation:
Under the cut, you'll find the list of fandoms that Lokitty writes for (or previously wrote for). The link will take you to a second masterlist of character x reader ships. This is where it can get tricky:
reader lists are lists which have character x reader works
specific!reader lists are lists which have character x reader works where the reader's relation to the character is more specified (ex. daughter!reader, student!reader, etc.)
all readers lists are lists which have character x reader and character x specific!reader works.
NOTE: Characters that have all readers lists will NOT have reader and specific!reader lists. all readers lists contain all the works for that character and are sorted by relation. What list a character has is entirely dependent on the number and type of works Lokitty has written.
From there, you can pick the character-reader relation, open the list link, and find all the fics you're looking for! If you're confused, play around with the links. You'll find what you're looking for.
If you're looking for crossover fics, pick one of the fandoms in the crossover. At the end of that list there is a Crossover Works link. You should be able to find the fic there.
other important notes:
some lists are short and list all the characters and their works without having extra links. These are easy to navigate.
reader traits such as male!reader and autistic!reader are listed next to the fic title and DO NOT have seprate lists.
all fics are (generally) listed from oldest to newest.
I tried my best to sort out all the crossover works, but this was already a huge project and some probably slipped through the cracks. I sorted everything to the best of my abilities, but it would have been impossible to read through every single work (and I'm unfamiliar with most of these fandoms). If you find a fic that isn't where it belongs or is missing lables/ wrong labels, please message me to let me know.
Lists are always under light construction. As Lokitty writes, sometimes things must be reorganized. Any major changes to navigation will always be noted above!

I was talking with a friend and it got me thinking about Sally Jackson’s role in the show vs. the books. Look, I’ve been interested in books and film my whole life, so I’m that person who’ll enjoy both versions of the story. And you know what I love about Sally Jackson in the show? She DOES raise her voice at Percy despite it being described in the book that she doesn’t. She isn’t perfect as in “has no flaws,” but is still perfect in Percy’s eyes because his mom did everything she could to raise him and keep him safe in difficult situations. Even when she raised her voice in some understandably hard situations—like Percy having to go to a new school—she still loves him. He still loves her. Arguments don’t necessarily destroy love. And we see her as a human being who is struggling with such a tough situation, and she’s trying her best, and later I think Percy recognizes that. He must if even with those flaws he’s still so vehement that the only parent that matters to him is his mom. The imperfections we see make his love for her show out even stronger.

Some get lost, some get caught | Walker x afab!reader
Tumblr media

Notes : if anyone has quick things to crochet ideas lemme know rn. Written in first perspective.
Tumblr media
While filming Percy Jackson : And The Olympians season one, Me, Walker—my boyfriend—, Leah, and Aryan shared a conjoined hotel room. It was like having roommates expect everyone actually got along and the landlord didn’t kick us out.
Leah popped her head into me and Walker’s side of the room, hair half into a ponytail. “Me and Aryan are gonna go grab some ice.” She smiled before leaving as quickly as she entered.
“How much you betting they get lost?” I laugh, looking over at Walker who hadn’t even moved from his page in his book.
Walker tilted his head so he was now looking at me. “Hm?” “Leah and Aryan are going to get ice so I joked what you were betting on if they get lost- never mind.” I explained before going back to scrolling on my phone, trying my hardest not to blush at an edit of Walker I’m just seen.
I kept on scrolling until a felt Walkers head on my shoulder, curls tickling my neck. His fingers trail up and down my arms, drawing patterns that were only seen in his mind.
Turning off my phone, I plunk it over onto the end of our bed so I can devote all my attention to Walker.
I miss with his curls for a minute, while Walker laughs and blushes as the touch. It was funny, how we were dating but playing characters who weren’t such fans of each other, throwing sandwich’s and insults at one another.
Placing a kiss on the top of his head, he looks up at me before giving a small peck on the lips with that smile that makes me anxious.
One kiss on the lips turns into more kisses until I’m on Walker’s lap.
His hands sat around my waist while mind rested on his shoulders. We weren’t really making out, just small kisses while giggling in between each. We kept on doing this until Walker kissed the tip of my nose and pulled me back onto the bed.
He laughed as my eyes widened, realized I’m literally lying on top of him. This time, he played with my curls while I rest my face in the crook of his neck. He picks out one specific curl from my bangs. “See, this curl is why I like you.” He joked.
I dramatically gasped. “Well, that must be a very good curl then.” I smiled, lifting my head up to give him another kiss when-
“We got lost. We need help-“ Aryan complains as he steps into our side of the room before awkwardly stopping.
Leah comes in behind him, wondering why the hell he’d been put on pause. She just shrugs her shoulders as she pushes Aryan back into the room. “Oh, you’re being cute, carry on.” And shuts the door.
I quickly get up and slip my shoes on, opening the door while they both awkwardly stare at me. “I’ll help you find the ice.” I keep my head down.
I can hear Walker whispering and giggling behind me and I just know he’s probably recording this.
“Ok!” Aryan leaps off the bed.

Thank you for the tag @starchasersunseeker !! I love love love tag games and it's been ages since the last time so YAYY
Last song: Arppa - Huhut (<3<3<3<3<3)
Favourite colour: Green, most of the time. Forest green especially, but there's not a shade of green that I wouldn't enjoy. Certain shades of yellow and orange and even red sometimes make themselves known as good contenders but green eventually always finds its way back to the top <3
Last film / show: I watched Brooklyn 99 yesterday, before bed. The last film I watched (or at least I think so) was The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society (2018) and would recommend it to literally anyone ! <3
Sweet / savoury / spicy: Savoury and spicy combat for the rule of my preferences on so many levels hahha
Relationship status: Married, which still sounds made-up. I am but a child (I am almost 30)
Last thing I googled: Heh. What kind of science carnivore diet is supposedly based on. It's gaining popularity around me so I wanted to understand what it is that hooks people; then I got bored after merely reading the list of google results :-D So the knowledge evades me still and frankly I'm quite fine with that
Current obsession: I recently travelled to Sweden and back by cruise boat, which inspired a new fic idea, and I'm currently very obsessed with the vague outline of a plot for it. It's... it'll be so good if I can pull it off in a way that it feels natural, but also it should be quite a lot longer than what I've ever written before so we'll see if I can even finish writing something like that. But at least I'm obsessed with something I can actually focus my time on and make something out of, rather than the lives of hypothetically dating tiktok presences :-D
Last book: Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Titan's Curse by Rick Riordan. Audio book wise. The last book I read to completion I think must have been Suomalainen kansanusko by Risto Pulkkinen (a non-fiction book about the belief systems of the Finns and how they've changed throughtout our history), because I've left all the rest in various states of almost-there. There are so many unfinished books. both fiction and non-fiction, lying around my house that it's not even funny anymore :-D Apparently, lately I can only finish fanfics if I have to read the text myself ahha
Looking forward to: Seeing my husband today for the first time in a week (whenever he gets home); my godson's birthday party later today; visiting mom on Tuesday for her birthday; going out (well, staying in) with a friend on Wednesday; having no plans for Monday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday <3 ALSO: UMK finals in February, having five weeks off work and my birthday in March, ESC in May, Metallica in Helsinki in June, the summer hols and a wedding and a potentially an Arppa gig in July, PMMP in August, our first wedding anniversary in September, and I'm quite sure there'll be something to look forward to after that as well but let's look forward to that later on
No pressure tags: @reaching-giraffes @caixxa @fluke-ski-walker @seeingspace @pikkumurmeli @turmaliini @mallstars

TV Series Discussion: Percy Jackson and the Olympians
Season 1 (2023)
Tumblr media
Source: Google Images
Percy Jackson is on a dangerous quest. Outrunning monsters and outwitting gods, he must journey across America to return Zeus’ master bolt and stop an all-out war. With the help of his quest mates Annabeth and Grover, Percy’s journey will lead him closer to the answers he seeks: how to fit into a world where he feels out of place, and find out who he’s destined to be.
Source: Disney+ (2023)
A Solid Adaptation
Before I begin, I do need to admit a couple of things. I love Percy Jackson, the character, the books, the world. As an adaptation, I disapproved the movie but if I'm just watching the film without caring that it's an adaptation, I do like it. So there, my stance.
Now, the TV show. I wanted to be ready so I did what I usually do not do. I reread the book in preparation for the show. And thankfully, I did that. As an adaptation, this is a million times better than what the movie did. Unfortunately, this first season is also a little boring but I am not mad at it.
You see, this entire first season is honestly just world building after world building after world building. Despite there being a prophecy and a quest, the main focus of season 1 is to build the Percy Jackson universe. If you watched this show without reading the book, you are honestly going to find it boring half the time. Hell, I read the book and I was bored half the time too. But, that's what the book did too, world building. Percy Jackson's plot truly begins in the next instalment (which I am so glad Disney did not cancel the show after one season).
On to the cast, I have nothing but compliments. First being the ages of these kids. As much as I love Logan Lerman as Percy, I love that these kids reflect the book more. Also, even though these are just teenagers, they did a phenomenal job with their roles.
Walker Scobell's Percy Jackson was confused, sarcastic, brave and sometimes awkward (exactly like the book). Not gonna lie, the way Leah Sava Jeffries portrayed Annabeth Chase was not what I imagined while reading the books. But I'm not mad at all. In the books, words did not quite explain Annabeth's contempt towards Percy or the world. Which makes sense because all Percy thought was why was Annabeth mad at him when she wasn't. In the TV series, Jeffries had the luxury of facial expressions so it explained the predicament she was in. It was easier to understand Annabeth Chase from the show. And of course, Aryan Simhadri's Grover is brilliant. Grover's (sometimes subpar) skills, awkwardness and humour were so well done!
I might have found Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 1 boring half the time but I truly still enjoyed the show. If we keep this up, we can get five seasons of Percy Jackson which is what readers have been saying for years. Series should be made into TV shows, one book per season.
Rating: ★★★☆☆ (3.5/5)
P.S.: Disney, come on. Why did the end credits soundtrack sound like a Marvel show?

DND Campaign: L.A. Numinous
The Pantheons of the World are not as fantastical or mythical as you might think. They are around us, always hiding in plain sight. They hide from the Mortal Realm, having forgone most of their earthly attachments after the Great War, the World War, the Last War that they would put themselves through.
They hid their World, their mythologies, their fantasies from the Mortal Realm, between the cracks of what can and can't be seen. There in the unperceived, the lives of fantastical creatures, of ogres and fairies, of kitsune and deities, they continue to survive.
It's 2028, just 6 months before the Summer Olympic Games starts anew in the City of Angels, Los Angeles. You scroll through your X feed, look at the current trending topics: Articles about Whales and Dolphins taking over the sea; The Olympic Flame being ignited in Greece; And the death of an Instagram Model with no leads. It's almost banal and boring as you flick through tweets.
Perhaps, just at the corner of your eye, you see a little miracle, a trick of the light or a creep of a shadow. But something/someone tumbles over you, a friend, a loved one, a mentor you've known for some months, weeks, or maybe only a few days. They're blood soaked and their eyes are pleading, worrying, and saddened, as they look at you, clutching at wounds that only look seconds old.
"Aphrodite is dead. This was not how I meant for this to happen but I'm sorry but I must pass my Eidolon to you before it's too late."
Light flashes before you could even ask. You find yourself engulfed with it, bathed in it and then... nothing.
Now there's a dead body in your hands and an ominous feeling in your chest. Your phone beeps and rings to life with a spoken message. You're pretty sure it didn't have that feature before.
"[Player Name] , you are summoned before the Divine Council to be condemned for the Assassination of a Deity and Usurping their Status. Cooperation would be most advised."
ART CREDIT: Tony Sart, Javier Charro
Hi, hello, Name's Kiri or Hex or Vai! I hardly ever post on Tumblr anymore or advertise any campaign ideas here due to school but this one has been nagging me just a little bit more after listening to Stray Gods, watching American Gods, and rewatching the Percy Jackson films, so I needed to just write down the blurb and the pitch in case anyone is wanting to play some DND in a Divine Urban Fantasy kind of setting.
INFO
The game is set in contemporary Los Angeles, a few years into the future, a few months before the Summer Olympic Games. You have been accused for the assassination of a Deity and usurping their power and status, their Eidolon. Through the Eidolon, you gain power and are now able to perceive Los Angeles in its truest form, a City of Mythical Creatures living in secrecy.
During Character Creation, you will choose a Deity from any Pantheon (Japanese, Chinese, Greek, Egyptian, Norse etc) whose Eidolon has been passed down to you.
This is going to be a Human-centric campaign so, despite the advertisement of other races in the game world, physically your character will be Human. Through the power of the Eidolon, they can be reskinned with the capabilities of other DND races.
Gameplay will be roleplay heavy, debating on either PBP semi-live text or just Discord VC with a separate channel for Texting RP. But there will also be combat involved of course.
The DM, me, hi, has a flexible schedule but I am in PST so applicants who are close to that would be preferred.
Current Allowed Resources are PHB, Xanathar's, Tasha's, and Mythic Theros
Depending on interest, around 4-8 rotating players can be taken.
If interested, DM me or like this post for more details so I can get back to you.

The Marvels (Spoilers)
Hello again my friends, today I'm watching The Marvels. I actually really like the first one, but phase 4 Marvel has been so disappointing that I'm not going into this with high hopes. Let's get into it.
Man, these new Marvel films are like multi-million dollar cartoon episodes. Same amount of exposition, same amount of world building, same basic scripts. I don't like it. I really wish they would attempt a little actual narrative construction instead of minutes-long fight and flying scenes. The stories are so bizarre because most of the villains have valid gripes, but the narratives are so half-baked that I'm pretty sure I couldn't tell you what they are by the time the movie is over. The villain was SO BORING and her wig looked like plastic Barbie hair. I feel like actually bad for Zawe Ashston, there was nothing she could do for that script.
Other than that, I have a few thoughts:
The CG is so corny. I've never seen a film that looked so much like it was filmed exclusively in front of green screens. It's dystopian - can you imagine having to go to work every day and channel emotions into some lines where you're the only one in front of the camera and there's no real environment to set the tone? Gross
The cartoon animation in the beginning is not giving "Into the Spiderverse", it's giving low budget kids movie.
I do still really like Samuel L Jackson as Fury. He's good comedic relief. I wish they'd let him swear.
I am having trouble with the fact that they have cross-universe travel, but not working telecoms for characters that are close to one another.
The switching places while fighting was really cool. I think it's the only "new" thing this movie really had to offer.
Kamala was the lifeblood of this movie. Her fight choreography and lines were the best out of anyone on the cast. Also, I knew Iman Vellani was Canadian as soon as she said "what're we doing?" when they met Fury on the space station again. It was so cute.
The fact that they had a montage of what must have been like... two hours of training? Guys. Come on. This is worse than Percy Jackson getting two days to train before recovering the master bolt.
Bro WHY is Park Seo-Joon in this movie?????
Verdict: the first third wasn't great, but I actually didn't hate it. The end made me gag though. Like Marvel can we fucking chill out with the new teams. You spent 1/3 of the movie explaining why all these characters are here and now you're going to make me deal with more packed-in exposition in the next one???????? Give me a BREAK. I don't want new dimensions, I want you to explain this one better!!

Review: ‘A God Buys Us Cheeseburgers’, Percy Jackson Episode 5
**Spoiler Alert for the entire book!**
I would like to start this review off on the nature of adaptations and when to go astray, given the less-than-stellar dip in quality of episode 4. Inevitably, details must change from the source material, some things are unfilmable. The source material in question here is in first person, which leaves so much of the story outside the protagonist’s head unwritten.
Had this season been given, say 10 episodes, and worked to establish the side characters we watch fight and die in the name of the gods and their friends later down the line, no one would have complained. Characters I won’t name (but iykyk) that got criminally little ‘screen time’ during Percy’s POV in the later books, only to have incredibly tragic demises were sad enough. Now imagine if, assuming the Disney show can accomplish filming all five books, we got to see these characters grow for all five seasons.
The era of TV we find ourselves in treats filler as universally bad and unacceptable. Plopping down on your couch on a weeknight to watch an off-beat episode of that cop drama you love or that addictive doctor show, or teen romance, that didn’t require your full attention all the time because every scene was important to the plot doesn’t happen anymore. An episode that was funny or charming or a romantic little side quest putting the characters we love in interesting circumstances is now far and few between. It still told the grand story, even if it didn’t service the grand plot. That’s the nature of television.
The filler everyone complains about is when it’s uninteresting, contrived, and very clearly for no other reason than to pad the runtime. Taking a C-list monster and giving her an unnecessary monologue and a need to ‘hunt’ that wasn’t in the book? Boring filler.
Cutting back to camp and really selling us on how Luke is an awesome dude looking out for all the younger kids so he can twist the knife later? Good filler! He’s the main villain of the series (besides you know who) and we got so little of him in the books because it was limited to Percy’s POV. Build his relationships with Chiron, Beckendorf, Silena, Clarisse, the Stolls, and the other demigods he ends up turning Dark Side with him. Make him the lovable everyman because he really did love the kids. He hated how the gods treated them. Die hard book fans, if the writers really went for it and understood why his character does what he does, would have loved it.
Now onto the episode that I was hoping and praying would be more like episode 3 than 4.
So. They included the snipping of the thread. And Percy wasn’t there to see it, nor was it at all as creepy and foreboding as it should have been. I kept waiting for them to flash back to Percy’s experience in the river with the naiad and they didn’t. Maybe they ran out of under-water effects budget. Percy’s “maybe my dad does love me” tonal whiplash is disappointing since 90% of the river scene was lost (and he didn’t even come out of the water dry).
Ares’ casting isn’t what I pictured but it fits really well and I can’t place why. His features don’t really feel *godly*. Him starting Twitter wars is wonderfully petty and absolutely in-character. He just acts like an unhinged jerk, not the God of War, as funny and entertaining as it is.
It is also disappointing that Annabeth is the one that snarks to Ares and not Percy, because his attitude is what eggs on their big fight on the beach while she and Grover actively try to tame Percy’s temper. The episode, to this point, is *fine*.
Everything after… I was laughing at the absurdity. The absolute deadpan confusion on their faces when “What is Love” starts playing like the mixer accidentally edited in a track from their Spotify. The set designers forgetting that “Waterland” is a waterpark, not just an amusement park. Grover being unrecognizably sly and confident in front of Ares when he wasn’t supposed to be there at all. Some of the dry attempts at humor, like Percy’s “I think I heard this at an orthodontist” line, not in itself funny, but his dry delivery was.
Grover’s ongoing conversation trying to probe Ares is hilarious, even if that’s not Grover on screen. It’s not bad, it’s just… not Grover. Percy and Annabeth’s jaunt and awkward exposition and line delivery in the Tunnel of Love is also *fine*. Them hyperfocusing on the Fates’ string this episode is another *interesting* change and so is Percy’s second attempt to sacrifice himself in a scene that’s way more dramatic than it needed to be. Boy is all teary-eyed convinced he’s going to die here in this trap when, in the book, he was trying to get Annabeth to move her behind because she was petrified by robotic spiders. She has her come-to-Jesus moment here, which was sorely needed for this version of her character who, up to this point, had very little depth.
And there are no robot spiders. Did they not have the budget for robot spiders? Is Percy not allowed to have the rest of his powers? Were they too afraid of giving Annabeth a phobia? Did they just desperately need to inject some angst into this scene? All of the angst, to the sound of heartbreaking violins in a score that also went way too hard. Nobody seriously thought Percy was going to bite the dust here, did they?
Overall, this is better than 4, but not as good as 3, if I had to rank them. If you pretend this isn’t supposed to be the first season of at least five, Grover likely doesn’t seem like a problem. His whole arc, across all five books, is gaining self-confidence and courage. He can’t grow into a brave Lord of the Wild if he starts his journey back-talking the God of War.
Annabeth not having her entirely useless panic attack over the spiders and forcing Percy to have to save them was the main takeaway from the original trip to Waterland. She’s not perfect, but this flaw is also entirely outside of her control, it’s in her blood as a child of Athena. It’s ridiculous that someone as smart and strong and cunning as she is can be petrified by spiders – but that’s the point.
The commentary on how the gods, as a family, constantly backstab each other was interesting. Not sure that this episode was the best place for it, but it’s nice that it exists.
The changes that were made were entertainingly confusing. It was not what I ordered, but I didn’t hate what I was served. Ares is easily the best part of this episode, but it is glaringly obvious that this show, whether by budget or the Powers That Be, is allergic to action scenes.
Here’s to hoping they saved all their eggs to drop in the basket of the big climactic beach brawl, because this is still an action-adventure series, not just adventure.

dude imma say it
the percy jackson tv show sucks so bad
and I have a lot of time to think at work when im not busy with my little tasks so imma rant about it
because my little brain likes to look for connections i guess
anyway
IT SUCKS SOOOOOO BAAAAAAD HOLY
S H I T
its a giant mix of things because of where we are in time
every major piece of media is a huge reflection of the times we live in so uh
it makes sense that this would suck too like every single other piece of media disney has released in the past decadeish (it comes down to taste so if u like a Disney thing, whatever)
but like?!?!
because of the times we live in where writers had to strike for better wages and a semblance of recognition (i dont know the terms exactly) it makes sense that they gave ol' Ricky boy a shot at screen writing cause they didn't really have to take a chance with a new writer. cause u know disney! wherever there are corners to be cut they will! gotta think of the poor ol' bottom line!!
BUT ALSO RICK RIORDAN'S QUALITY IN WRITING WENT DOWN S O HARD AFTER HIS FIRST SERIES WITH PERCY
heroes of Olympus and trials of Apollo do not have the same flavor as the original series and I know plenty of people will agree with me
and thats cause ol' ricky boy (might call him uncle rick ironically cause I have a big family so its in character of me to have beef with an uncle plus like.... cmon its for the bit, an homage to my cringey younger self, and to help me avoid stupid autocorrect on my phone, it works on so many levels, if u must, cringe away) lost the fucking heart of the original series
lost the whole point and charm of the 1st series
it started out as a fucking bed time story for his son for fucks sake!!!!!! so obviously it was going to be a story built on so much love you could feel it in every word he carefully knit together for his son to feel less alone in the world
and thats why I looked up to him for so many years!!!!
he inspired me to start writing!!! so that maybe some day I could also write stories that helped people feel less alone
because the best fucking stories are the ones with the most heart and genuine emotions you feel like you could be there
but uncle rick fucking lost it because i think after the massive success of his first series he saw it as a way to make money for his family instead of a way to lovingly craft something for the sake of it just existing
yet another thing capitalism has taken from us
I have yet to read his other work, as an adult, because percy jackson is such a comfort book for me and I've obsessively done so much research on it I remember him doing an interview once where he said his students found his other works and they were teasing him about the cuss words in the book because of course they were he taught middle schoolers and that is where he is stronger than I
but thats also another thing
since I haven't read his other works, I dont know if they're going to speak to me like percy jackson has, but probably not from the looks of his other series (ive read all of heroes of Olympus and some of trials of Apollo but thats just cause I adore nico)
but I can definitely say for sure without a shadow of a doubt
dude
uncle rick is NOT a screen writer
he SUCKS at it so bad
he definitely doesn't know how to build suspense in film or write around the obstacles that come with live acting
which is embarrassing man
ive been there
did a senior directed play in high school, wrote the script myself
and it sucked pretty bad
because I was a story teller not a script writer!!!! I didnt know what the fuck i was doing!!!!! whenever I wanted a new character I would just invent one out of thin air, what do you mean I had to have an actor for every new character I have?!?!?!?!
soooo grateful i tried that for the first time in high school cause its not that embarrassing when u suck at something as a teenager cause hey!!! ur learning new shit everyday!!
but this ties back into my point of this show reflecting the times
I will say, I prefer the movie of percy jackson over this weird show
and thats cause it had charm! zest! a screenwriter and people that knew how to make movies!
were at such a weird place in cinema
at least in the mainstream american/western media
I saw everything everywhere all at once last year and it blew my tits clean off
but thats because it was made by people who wanted to make art for arts sake!!!! for the love of creation!!!!!
thats why those movies are so successful now
cause there's really no formula to follow anymore so anything that seems original and made with love is so fucking insanely successful and big corporations can't fucking replicate that without taking chances and letting people tell honest earnest stories
which is why every Disney villain sucks now cause they have to also secretly maybe sometimes be a good person
oh no the circumstances they were given made them a villain
hmmm I wonder who helped with the capitalism of it all?? hmmmm such a mystery
I know we all miss when villains were just evil for fun and that was it
like Ursula, they didn't explain shit about her backstory she was just a woman in a cave that had a reputation and had a sick as hell design and that was all people needed to like her (shout out to divine) (also I don't remember much about the little mermaid I am basing this off of vibes)
where was i going with this.....
anyways the pjo TV show sucks
let Rick Riordan cook longer as a screen writer or let him be a co author of the script my god he sucks at this
get an expert screen writer in there asap phew!!!
today's adhd rant has been brought to you by:

You're a Percy Jackson fan? What you did think of this new show that just debuted? Or, if you haven't watched it yet, what do you expect from it?
I must be honest, I actually have never read the Percy Jackson books, though I have friends who are familiar with it and I've heard lots of positive stuff about it. (I've also listened to some of the musical soundtrack and I liked what I heard!)
I sadly was introduced to Percy Jackson by the awful film adaptation of it from 2010, and at the time, I misguidedly assumed that the Lightning Thief film was a relatively decent adaptation, since Chris Columbus (who had worked on the first two Harry Potter films, which are rather faithful to their respective books) had directed it. I was therefore a little underwhelmed by the story line, but had assumed that the things that made my Greek mythology nerd self irritated (like the film's interpretation of Hades and Persephone and Grover having to "earn his horns" a la Clarence in It's a Wonderful Life) were simply liberties the author had taken while adapting some ideas from ancient Greek myths for his fictional universe -- you know, like how Disney decided to make Hades a sassy, used-car-salesman-esque bad guy and Zeus and Hera Hercules's loving parents in their movie. And well, even if I didn't personally like those liberties taken, they are what they are, right? The author must've just used the Greek myths as a jump-off point to tell their own story, right? *snorts*
Yeah, no, as it turned out, those things I didn't care for weren't liberties the original author took, while telling his story -- instead they were changes the filmmakers made to the author's story that actually flew in the face of what the author intended. As I soon found out online from Percy Jackson fans, for some bizarre reason, Chris Columbus did NOT decide to respect Rick Riordan's vision in the same way he did Jo Rowling's, and Riordan in fact was actually incredibly clever in adapting the ancient Greeks' myths for the modern era. And yeah, that really sucks! I mean, from what I gather, the original Lightning Thief book is something of an homage to Homer's Odyssey, which is actually one of my favorite books of all time! That's friggin' awesome!
Now that Percy Jackson has come to Disney+ and its fanbase overall seems to be much more approving of what's been released so far, I'm really looking forward to watching it, so I can get a better look at what so many people have such fondness for. And if I have time, maybe I'll finally knuckle down and read the books too! If nothing else, I've heard lots of very nice things about Rick Riordan and the personal feelings that went into the world and cast of characters he created, and I'm glad he's been given more say in how they're now being adapted for a new generation. 💛

“Dude, she’s, like, totally your soulmate.”
Peter scoffs, trying not to let the words obviously shake him. Ned has been wheedling Peter for what must be half an hour, trying to convince him to just ask out Y/N L/N, already. No matter how many times Peter says that it’s not going to work, that Y/N may be his absolute dream girl but that doesn’t mean she likes him even half as strongly as he likes her, Ned refuses to abandon the cause.
Peter still can’t stop himself from inserting at least an ounce of realism into the conversation. “She’s not my soulmate, Ned. Soulmates aren’t real.”
Ned snorts. “Yeah, that’s what I thought until I met the two of you. You guys are practically the same person. She likes Star Wars, you like Star Wars. You’ve watched Lord of the Rings about a hundred times with me, I heard her weighing the benefits of Narsil or Sting in a battle just last week. Admit it, Peter, the two of you are just meant to be.”
Peter sighs. “I wish it could be, but you’re missing one massive point. She doesn’t like me, Ned, and no amount of shared interests are going to fix that.”
Ned groans, but before the other boy can try and persuade Peter that this isn’t a problem, he’s cut off by a new voice. This one comes from somebody standing just behind them, somebody who’s been listening into their conversation.
“Who said I didn’t like you?”
Peter’s eyes widen at the same time as Ned’s, and he turns around slowly to see none other than Y/N L/N grinning at him. There’s no way this could ever be happening, but as Peter stands there and gapes at her, Y/N’s smile just broadens.
“Well?” she asks, “Don’t you have something to ask me?”
Peter nods hurriedly before he can convince himself that he’s dreaming. “Yeah, absolutely. Would you, uh, like to go out with me?”
No question in the history of the universe has ever been wrought with so much peril. At the same time, though, Peter thinks he’s got a pretty good chance of getting the answer he wants. The delighted look on Y/N’s face tells him that much.
ships:
I ship you with Draco Malfoy!
Tumblr media
The last thing Draco Malfoy planned on was falling in love with a Gryffindor, but he couldn't help it when it came to you. He was minding his business in class (as well as Draco can, let's be real the man has an unhealthy interest in keeping up with gossip lmao) when he overheard you making a sarcastic comment to your friend. He had to literally cover his mouth to stop from laughing, and ever since then, Draco was hooked. It's love, babey.
I ship you with Lando Calrissian!
Tumblr media
Ok, I am SUCH a Lando stan, and I just think the two of you would get along so well. Lando would watch your favorite movies with you as many times as you want, and gladly listen to you talk about the hidden details for hours. He's a simp, and especially a simp for you. It just makes sense.
I ship you with Leo Valdez!
Tumblr media
Leo, my beloved, is absolutely thrilled to find someone as awesome as he is. Never one to shy away from a music rec, Leo listens to your favorite hard rock albums with you while he's working on his latest project. It's worth it for the Tony Stark energy, alright? He's also tried to make high tech instruments for you as well.
playlist:
Capital Letters - Hailee Steinfeld
My Alcoholic Friends - The Dresden Dolls
Midnight City - M83
Cruel Summer - Taylor Swift
Someone New - Hozier
i hope you enjoy! thank you for taking part in my celebration!!

Thanks for the reply! Additional question: how likely do you think it is that we are going to get Psych peeps doing cameos on AMLT s5, or viceversa JRR being a guest actor on Dulé's show?
I missed this ask, sorry!
Not super likely I must say. We know Tim was in Vancouver for a bit to film Percy Jackson so he would be a good candidate for a small role. Dulé, as far as I know, hasn't been to Vancouver in a while, though. And Maggie did some travelling not too long ago but if she was anywhere near Canada, she didn't mention it.
I would love if some Psych peeps showed up on Wonder Years and it would make perfect sense with Dulé as the lead and Saladin as the show runner. I'd want it to be more substantial than just a gimmicky cameo, though. James will have a bit more time on his hands soon so fingers crossed he'll show his face at some point (and maybe Maggie since she was in Atlanta last month?)

If you are a fanfic writer in the Elvis/Austin Butler community and you have been effected by the the Wattpad plagerism, PLEASE FILL OUT THIS TAKEDOWN NOTICE
It basically details more of the copyright infringement the way I understand it
I reported the story again as Wattpad didn’t do shit the last time we tried. And I think if we want to get this thief to stop, filling this out might be a good idea

So since Elvis fans are discussing the new announcement…I guess I’ll talk about it
So for those who don’t know, it was announced that Sofia Coppola, acclaimed filmmaker and one that I actually kinda like, is making a bio-pic about Priscilla Presley, specifically about her memoir Elvis and Me (which is a great read btw).
But not only that, but casted in the role of Elvis is Jacob Elordi who dated Kaia Gerber who is currently dating Austin.
That’s the most I will ever talk about celebrity news.
Okay.
I love Sofia’s work. I think she’s a great filmmaker and I would love to see how she’d adapt the book with her style.
However.
The movie won’t be out for a while. Casting announcement means this thing is probably well into pre-production. And a big budget Hollywood bio-pic from a critically acclaimed director that will want to be an awards contender, won’t be out for a while. The guess being thrown around in the fandom is 2024.
However.
The casting announcement coming out practically three months after Elvis (2022)’s release while we’re still riding the high, and even the movie itself, feels like a deliberate cash grab to capitalize on all this new Elvis hype.
And that must suck for Austin and Jacob who are now going to be pitted against each other and constantly compared.
But also yeah. Austin worked his ass off for this role and now someone else is riding his high. That must be unfair.
And yeah. I’m not sure how Priscilla and Lisa Marie will take to this.
Idk how the book rights work with this whole thing. Like idk if Priscilla owns the book rights but the vibe I’m getting is she wasn’t consulted and I have no clue how true that is. But Elvis (2022) was the most accurate film on Elvis’s life and it was the one the family was the most happy with. So this does feel a little insulting that this announcement is riding the high of a film that was truly a passion project for those involved.
So what are my thoughts?
I don’t know dude. On one hand, I’m interested in another version of this story especially done by another pretty great filmmaker. But on the other, it feels so cash grabby and like a PR stunt. Like Jacob being cast is not a coincidence. And I don’t want to compare the two, even though I think Austin is probably going to be the better of the two
We’ll see what happens but yeah this whole thing does leave a bad taste in my mouth

Every time a BIPOC gets cast in something where the relevant fandom likes to get all ugly over “forced representation” it says so much that it’s less about the casting and more about genuinely not seeing BIPOC as worthy human beings.  I just think about the Hunger Games ugliness over Amandla Stenberg and Lenny Kravitz, the Ghostbusters garbage with Leslie Jones and the Star Wars shit with Kelly Marie Tran, and just now the Percy Jackson fandom going after Leah Sava Jeffries, and I wonder how it must feel.  You’ve just gotten cast in a role in a major Hollywood franchise film.  You should be able to celebrate.  You should be able to call up your friends and family and tell them the good news.  You should get to be fucking proud and excited.  And instead, you’ve got tons of screaming hateful fans, sometimes from all over the damn world, stalking you on social media, yelling at the studio, doing everything they can to let you know that “IT’S NOT ABOUT RAAACE” but at the same time, everything about your race being anywhere near their precious story is REVOLTING and UNACCEPTABLE, and by extension, everything about YOU is revolting and unacceptable.  The blatant, gleeful dehumanization is horrifying.  You can pretend all you like that real people, real human beings aren’t being hurt here, but that’s as much a lie and untruth as stories and fiction being only for white people. For the rest of your life, the memory of what should have been an amazing opportunity in your career will be a memory of just how much people couldn’t wait to let you know just how much they hated you just for being you.

TWITL - week 6 - rainy start then sunshine
Tumblr media
MONDAY - 5 February Has the storm passed? It sounds a bit wet out there but the rain has stopped and the wind has died down. The weekend weather was pretty wild! It'll be interesting to see what damage it wreaked or if it's all been cleaned up already. I saw a picture of a tree that fell in front of the library. No body was hurt, thank goodness. https://flic.kr/p/2pwBb6o One full week of work. We can get through it. We will get through it. I already know I have a lot of emails to go through when I get to work. I need to write down my tasks during these times so that I don't forget to do the things I must do. It's easy to get caught up in the stuff that must be done but some prioritizing does need to happen sometimes. As is the case here. Percy Jackson and the Olympians - I neglected to talk about the season ender of this FANTASTIC show. It had better come back because I WANT MORE! The show is excellent and okay, it's about kids but all the Greek mythology weaving through it just makes me so happy. I really loved the books (obviously read them as an adult) and the show has done such a fantastic job of bringing the characters and the stories to life. They must give us more. How can they not bring us more? Also, go watch the show. So well done. Argylle - I knew it was a good idea to NOT read any reviews before seeing the movie. I read something about the "twist" and then skimmed through a few comments. The article was not positive and the comments didn't really sound like they were from people who actually watched the movie. I'm telling you, the movie was a fun ride. Was it ridiculous? Of course! Was if funny? So much so. Does it deserve the bad box office return and the negative reviews? Nope, not at all. I'd love to see it again. I really enjoyed it. TUESDAY - 6 February Toby Keith died. I was shocked when I read about it, then a little sad. When I really started listening to country music (mid/late 90s), he was one of the big stars and he had some fun songs in those early days. I enjoyed his music for a long time and then didn't listen much to him in later years. I prefer his fun songs and don't really care for the ones that lean on the patriotic side in an angry fashion. I get that people probably paint him a certain way in this day and age but I still think of him fondly for the songs of his that I do still love. When he sang those drinking songs or songs with stories, he had a way of delivering the words in memorable fashion. If people only want to remember the "bad" stuff about him, that's their prerogative. He was singer and songwriter and I bet he's got a song in his catalog that you'd like if you give it a chance... Thomas Beaudoin won for Best Male Actor at the Central Coast International Film Festival for his role in a short film called Secrets Not Buried. Why do I know such a thing? Oh yes, because I'm claiming Thomas as my latest book boyfriend, which means I'm following his work. And no, I'm not going to pretend that his good looks weren't the first thing to catch my attention. You all know me better than that, right? (Well, you should, my lovelies.) Gosh, I have a type when it comes to my book boyfriends, eh? Anyhoo, I saw that Thomas had won Best Actor and I added the post to my IG story (as one does when trying to show the love and perhaps catch the attention of the book boyfriend) because I was happy for him. I remembered to check on the people who looked at that particular IG story and lo, guess who cast a glance? You knew before I said anything, didn't you? https://flic.kr/p/2pxUBuH Sometimes it happens and yes, I screenshot it... WEDNESDAY - 7 February I finished that audiobook yesterday evening and I'm so relieved! I really did not like the female narrator's voice when doing dialogue and even the male one started to irritate me towards the end. The story itself was all right but I think I should stick to reading romance novels as opposed to listening to them. THURSDAY - 8 February Was it forward of me to DM Chris to ask if he's going to the All Blacks v Fiji match? When I wrote out my message, I was a little nervous but figured I just had to ask because I know he's a big rugby fan. And lo, HE REPLIED!!! I saw that I had a notification on Twitter (yeah, I still call it that and yeah, I still have it) and when I opened the app, I saw that I had a DM. I opened it and there was a message from Chris. I think I let out a little squeak, as one does, and then calmed myself and read his message. He just found out about the match and he had gone to the one in Chicago so he was pretty sure he was going to go with his rugby friends to San Diego. He said that he'll keep me updated. https://flic.kr/p/2pxUEbj This particular screenshot makes me smile... I'm trying to be cool and whatevs about this but nope, can't do it. He read my message, must still find me to be not too crazy, and wrote back to tell me that he was probably going and he'd keep me updated. Fangirl me is super super excited!!! I hope we really do get to meet up. It'll rock! https://flic.kr/p/2pxURib my Sunday look Super Bowl LVIII - Well, that didn't go the way I had hoped. The result is exactly why I don't like going into such a game thinking, "Oh, my team is going to win!" Maybe it's a way of keeping myself from being too heartbroken but it didn't really work. I was VERY DISAPPOINTED by the 49ers loss and I really don't want to hear excuses or blame or anything else. It's done. The Niners and the Chiefs played a good game and maybe I would have enjoyed it more if I didn't care so much. It sucks to lose but what a season they had... https://flic.kr/p/2pxoNi5 Leica Sofort 2 and the first shot Leica Sofort 2 - Got my new camera! It arrived on Friday and the film arrived on Saturday. It's super cute! I'm digging it. I experimented with the printing, starting with photos taken by the camera as well as shots taken by my phone. I can only pair the camera with one device so I paired it with my iPhone. Of course, the photos taken by the iPhone printed very nicely. The photos taken by the camera print nicely enough but the digital versions aren't as nice, of course. Still, it's pretty cool! Shots from the Leica Sofort 2: https://flic.kr/p/2pxN2in the first shot I printed from my Leica Sofort 2 https://flic.kr/p/2pxTw63 the view at the ranch https://flic.kr/p/2pxSBAw the view at dusk https://flic.kr/p/2pxSBDT hopeful before the Super Bowl I'm so glad we had Monday off from work. Now four days of work and another three day weekend ahead. Here we go! Read the full article
