Infinitely upset with the fact the mobile game has a different Jiang Cheng designs than any other adaptation. And I'm kinda in love with them for a few reasons... It's not really how I picture him in my head at all cause ive grown used to tight bun, sasuke bangs

I am a sucker for long hair (even if technically his og design is super long like everyone else, its just tied up tightly. tho points for it dramatically coming undone in the donghua) b. This man already swishes around dramatically enough with his whip and robes, imagine the added affect of a long ass ponytail. c. This gives him a visual parallel to Jin Ling's design which.... adorable. Copying his jiujiu.

not to upset anyone but i actually think Wei Wuxian was even more Jiang Cheng’s Greatest Mistake than Lan Wangji’s. Like I know the core transfer discourse tends to rotate pretty narrowly around consent and the (unwinnable and pointless) argument of Who Sacrificed More, but. In the rules of that world as I understand them from text, your body belongs to your sect. Hand, core, labor, life-- all of it. Jiang Cheng’s willingness to lay down his life in Yiling to prevent Wei Wuxian’s capture was noble, loving, generous-- but it was not proper for him to do because, as sect leader with no heir, his survival was more important than Wei Wuxian’s. His act of love was personal and therefore indulgent. It was not in service of Yunmeng Jiang; it was not honorable by any definition of the world he lived in or the sect he owed absolute allegiance to. Your body belongs to your sect.

Jiang Fengmian and Madam Yu got this. Wei Wuxian got this. It’s one of many, many ways he was a better Jiang than Jiang Cheng could ever be. It also weights their respective sacrifices differently. Wei Wuxian’s sacrifice of his core was brotherly, loving, and virtuous, but it was also what most of his life had geared him for. Jiang Cheng was going against not only his own survival instinct when he threw himself at the Wen soldiers in Yiling, but also against the established rules of a world he was actively fighting to get back.

Our baby boy needs his screentime to grow big and strong. #This whole scene is very good and does a lot to show us several important traits about wwx: #1) He has no hesitation to put his own face or life at risk to help someone (even if they have never met). #2) He does not care for what others say or think about him; he will do what he thinks is right. #And he is smart enough to think is is always right about his judgement. This will be a problem later. #I also think the silly energy in this scene is top notch. #Wen Ning is the wild chipmunk wwx managed to catch and wants to keep as a pet. #Jiang Cheng is gently easing this boy out of wwx's extrovert maw and saying 'put him back outside'. #Can you imagine being blindsided by the full force of wwx out of nowhere? Once again I have to shout into the void that Jiang Cheng was a sect leader and all of his actions and opinions reflected not only on himself but on the entirety of Yunmeng Jiang.

Which means that while Wei Wuxian was able to distance himself from his sect, Jiang Cheng never could so if he decideded to do something politically charged like take the side of Wen, the other sects would have a reason to attack his sect that was only just recovering from a massacre. Yes, that sounds like a responsible thing to do.
