I just watched the GOT finale and I’ve got a lot of opinions but one thing I hated that I don’t see talked about enough is the direction the writers took sansa in I love that she’s queen of the north but her apprehension with daenerys was smart and justified yes at times it seemed like she was determined to hate dany but overall sansa was right so who cares the thing that makes me mad tho is that originally sansa’s reasons for disliking dany were out of concern for the north she didn’t have an ulterior motive (despite many characters thinking she did although I personally believe she didn’t) but later when bran became king sansa was insistent on keeping the north independent because “the north can’t bend the knee to anyone anymore” when in reality the north would be happy to bend the knee to one of their own to a stark !!! it made it seem like sansa’s motivations for keeping the north independent were actually born out of her own thirst for power when I feel like sansa isn’t power hungry or at least not that power hungry sure she wanted to be lady of winterfell which she should be and deserves to be but to go as far as making yourself the queen ??? i’m just pissed that they made her look power hungry instead of an intelligent and now grown up woman ready to accept her duty as lady of winterfell which she should’ve been !!!!!!!

Chapter Summary: You finally arrive in Texas, a world so different from your home in New York. You find that living next door is a man who confuses you. You can't figure out if he's just a stereotipically angry Redneck or the man of your dreams. Ah well, you've got the summer to figure the puzzle that is Joel Miller.
Notes: Hello everyone, welcome to my new story :D This one is going to be quite different from my last story as I am delving into the realm of enemies to lovers! I am so excited as I don't think that any other PedroBoys fits the bill las well as Joel Miller!!! LMK what you think of it, I always love to read what you think of my work and I would also be really stoke to speak with all of you.
I am also working on a taglist at present, so I should make a post probably tomorrow, so if you want to be added to the tagged post, let me know and I'll be happy to add you!
Hope you all enjoy :D
Welcome to Texas
Apparently, your entire life fits neatly into an 8x6 cardboard box, which is somewhat embarrassing. When you made the spontaneous decision to uproot your life and leave New York, little did you know that packing would only take 25 minutes and leave you with so little. However, every item inside that box was a testament to your independence. You had purchased each item with your hard-earned money, not relying on your parents or receiving them as gifts from an ex-boyfriend. Every single thing inside that box was truly yours.
As you set down the box in front of the small suburban house, you squint your eyes taking in your new home for the foreseeable future. You had to admit, it had a certain charm that you found refreshing. The tiny house was a stark contrast to the high-rise condo your family had in New York or the overly opulent summer home in the Hamptons where you’d spend your summer. This place felt nice and quaint, exuding a sense of simplicity that you were craving. The row of houses boasted a similar style, either one or two floors tall, constructed with reddish-coloured brick. The driveways were impressively large, accommodating even bigger trucks. It really does seem like 'everything is bigger in Texas'.
Everything about this neighbourhood screamed quiet suburbia. Since it was still early afternoon on a Sunday, you spied some kids zooming down the street on their bikes like a wild bunch of Tasmanian devils, while a cluster of older ladies powerwalked on the sidewalk and seemed deeply engrossed in their gossip. The sight made you chuckle, they kind of looked like a swarm of salmon with their pink velour tracksuit. You were kind of impressed. In this heat, the only thing you wanted to do was lie down on the cold floor for at least two hours or stick your head in the freezer for a minute—the jury was still out. But that was probably because of your New Yorker sensibilities. Most of the people you spotted going about their day seemed completely unfazed by what you would categorize as temperature from at least the 4th circle of hell.
You sighed and put your arms high above your head, interlacing your fingers and giving your back a much-needed stretch. As depressing as the sight of the lone cardboard box holding your entire life was, you were glad that you didn't have a lot of stuff to take with you from New York. The drive had been almost unbearable. As a New Yorker, you didn't have many opportunities to drive that often, and this trip had actually been the first time you had driven your brand-new Alfa Romeo GT. It was a Christmas gift from your grandma, chosen for both sentimental and practical reasons, and you decided to take it with you as you up hauled your life to literally the other end of the country.
No one in your family had understood why you wanted, no, needed to leave, except for Granny Mabel. While your parents scolded you as if you were still a pigtailed little girl, timidly requesting seconds at dinner, Granny Mabel simply glanced at you, winking beneath her oversized Givenchy glasses, as she took a generous sip of her red wine. In that fleeting moment, you knew that no matter what unfolded, you would have the approval of the lionesses of New York’s Upper East Side.
But after what felt like three days of almost non-stop driving, you were ready to declare that you didn't even want to look at your car for at least a week. You felt like you had your share of driving to last you a lifetime. Although you knew that wouldn’t really be possible. After all, Texas was not known for the same kind of public transportation as New York. Ah well, when in Rome—or in this case, Texas.
As a few neighbours started to cast curious glances your way, you became aware of the possibility that loitering around an empty porch on an early Sunday afternoon might raise suspicions. You opened your handbag and rummaged through it, moving aside packages of half-eaten candy bars, a couple of lipsticks, emergency wet wipes, and tampons before you finally found the paper your friend Robbie had given you before you left three days ago.
Scrawled in your friend's messy chicken scratch, were an address and a name: "Joel Miller." Beneath it, a hasty note explained, "Joel was Great Aunt Ruth's neighbour. He was helping her with the property ever since he and his daughter moved in next door. We asked him to hold onto the keys until someone could come to take care of the house after Aunt Ruth passed away. Joel knows you're coming. Take care, my dear, and I'll miss you. New York won't be the same without your judgy ass!"
A smile spread across your face as you read the words. Robbie had been the most important part of your life in New York. You both met during your first year of college. You were studying pre-med, while he pursued performing arts at NYU, dreaming of a future on Broadway. Instantly, you connected with each other. Despite your family's legacy of surgeons, you had always yearned to be on the stage. So, in your first year, you took a theatre elective and met Robbie. The two of you became inseparable. His apartment in Brooklyn provided a refuge from the suffocation you felt at home, and you ended up spending most nights there. By the fourth month of your friendship, you even started contributing to some of the utilities, although Robbie insisted you didn't have to. But you didn't mind. Your parents had money, and you used a lot of hot water, so it was the least you could do.
And now, here you were, on the other side of the country, ready to take a break and maybe have some fun! You silently prayed to any gods out there, hoping they would listen and guide you toward figuring out what you truly wanted in your life. Happiness seemed to be slipping away with each passing day, and you hoped this summer would bring some clarity. You looked back down at the piece of paper, making a mental note to call Robbie once you got inside the house to thank him and reassure him that you were alive after that long trip.
For now, you needed to escape the scorching heat before you melted away. Your hair was beyond recognizable because of the frizz humidity brought out, and sweat patches were forming under your armpits. You cringed at the situation but tried to reassure your growing anxiety: "Who cares what Joel Miller thinks? You thought. You've been through more embarrassing moments than being sweaty in front of a middle-aged dad." Memories of laugh-snorting vodka cranberry all over your crush Colin Robertson's shirt at a post-finals party two years ago came rushing back. You were convinced you had permanently stained his favourite white Lacoste polo with cranberry, judging by the disdainful looks he had given you ever since. So, dealing with a middle-aged redneck should be a breeze in comparison.
You hurriedly made your way to the neighbouring house, desperately hoping that Joel Miller would be there. The thought of being stuck outside indefinitely made you want to cry. You tugged at your jean shorts, which clung uncomfortably to your sweaty thighs, and adjusted your oversized "1991 - Walt Disney" t-shirt, a hand-me-down from your older brother. You tied it in a knot at the front, revealing a sliver of midriff. It dawned on you that you needed to buy more weather-appropriate clothes—an item added to your ever-growing to-do list.
As you stood in front of Joel Miller's house, you hesitated. What if Robbie had forgotten to inform him about your visit? Would Joel think you were some kind of psychopath? He’d definitely think you were a little crazy. Taking a deep breath, you firmly knocked on the wooden front door. When, after a solid minute, there was no response, a sinking feeling of disappointment washed over you, suggesting that Joel Miller might not be home after all. You decided to try ringing the doorbell—once, twice. As you debated whether to attempt a third ring or call Robbie, you heard noises from behind the door, followed by a loud exclamation, "JESUS FUCKING CHRIST, give me a minute!"
You felt yourself turning pale, and you began fidgeting with your rings, mentally preparing yourself for whatever was about to happen next. The door was ripped open, and your temperature skyrocketed as you faced the man in front of you. Joel Miller was... not what you expected. He loomed before you, tall and imposing, with a mess of dishevelled brown hair crowning his head. What you first noticed was the broadness of his shoulders, it made your mouth go dry as you started to imagine what it would feel like to hold these shoulders in the throws of passion. You could almost picture yourself under him, naked and sweaty, holding unto him and leaving kitten scratches on his powerful back. Your eyes started to take the man in front of you, he was clad in low-hanging sweatpants, his powerful thighs and defined waistline were accentuated. Your gaze was transfixed on him, unable to look away. You were certain you spotted what had to be an impressive bulge in the front of his thin pants and you wanted nothing more than the check if he was as well endowed as he seemed to be. Joel Miller was a man unlike any you had encountered before, emanating a potent blend of masculine confidence and ruggedly handsome charm. You felt insignificant and childlike in your own outfit. What would he think of your sweat-soaked Disney shirt, your perspiring face, and your overall dishevelled appearance? You wished you could rewind time and change into one of your nice little baby-doll dresses, the one that deliciously played on innocence and sinful seduction, you always felt your most confident in them. At least, you wished you had freshened up before meeting this man. Your mother had always emphasized the importance of first impressions, and now, as you observed the fury in his warm brown eyes, it seemed like you had utterly shattered any chance of making a favourable first impression.
The deep baritone of his voice snapped you out of your reverie, as he demanded, "Who the hell are you?" You stammered, "Ehh, I am so sorry to bother you..."
"You better not tell me you some kinda salesman? 'Cause if ya woke me up from the only full sleep I’ve had in two weeks to sell me some bullshit air conditioning, Imma get real fuckin' mad!” You gulp and squirm under his angry stare. "I reckon the appropriate term is salespeople, to be inclusive, you know." Your voice squeaks in an embarrassing sound. What the hell was wrong with you? You weren't some kind of shrinking violet, but at this moment, under Joel Miller's hard stare, you felt like dying. Or at least digging a hole and hiding inside.
"I am really sorry to bother you, Mr. Miller," you try to muster a modicum of confidence, "I am a friend of Robbie Levitt." When Joel's face remained impassive, you felt like it was his permission to keep going. "He is… was Ruth Kaplan's nephew… ehh, the lady who lived…"
"I know who Mrs. Kaplan is," Joel Miller cuts you off and stares at you, squinting his eyes. "You that rich kid from New York?" You feel yourself groan inside, fucking Robbie babbling about your business to everyone. As much as you loved the guy, he was a complete gossip. You simply nod your head, feeling quite unable to say anything, completely tongue-tied.
"You’re late," Joel Miller's words are biting and sharp, and they are cutting into you, making you feel small and childish. "Late for... what? I'm not sure I follow," you say softly.
Joel Miller sighs loudly and shakes his head. "That Levitt kid told me you'd be here yesterday evening, waited late for you to come around, princess." You feel yourself grow even hotter, either from the embarrassment of seeming flaky or from the nickname; you aren't sure yet.
"Oh," you softly say. "I am sorry, I didn't realize. Robbie just said to be here over the weekend. I didn't realize you'd wait for me."
"So , what? You thought that because you some kind of rich important lady from the city you could waste my time? ‘Cause I’m just some redneck contractor from Texas, right? Who cares if you waste everyone’s time, imma right?” His stare is hard and you don’t know what to do or say without making him even more mad. “It’s not like that, I never thought… I am really sorry.” You settle for, thinking it’s your best bet so as to not antagonize him further.
A low growl, “It's fine," he responds curtly and abruptly. It doesn’t sound fine; you think as he looks like he is 5 seconds away from slamming the door in your face. But my god, everything about this man is hard, his words, his face… his body. You don't know if you should love it or hate it, but as your eyes fall to his hard pectorals you feel yourself falling into the former category. "Wait here." He disappears inside his house before returning with a set of keys he promptly drops into your hands. "Here you go."
"Thank you ever so much, Mr. Miller. And I am really sorry again about last night… And for waking you up and everything" You cringe as a dismissive twitch of the head serves as his feeble reply. As you pivot away, trudging along in a pitiful display of humiliation toward Ruth's house, the air fills with Joel Miller’s deep voice once again “Here's a life tip, sweetheart. When someone doesn't answer the door, maybe ya need to take a hint. Not all of us can afford endless days off or live in a rent-free house. Some of us have real jobs, princess, and those of us that do appreciate every bit of peace we can get.”
You feel like crying, tears gathering up in your eyes, but you won't let them fall. You won't give Joel Miller the satisfaction of knowing that he made you cry. So, you settle, "Sure... I apologize for everything. I didn't mean to be a bother." No answer, so you take it as your cue to leave, feeling dismissed like a child at school.
You turn around and try to muster your best fake smile, the same one you used for your mother and father and give a little wave. "Hope you can get back to sleep soon. I'll make sure to not be in your way again." And you scurry away as fast as your legs can.
Summer of fun and discovery is off to a great start, you think sarcastically, as you rip Aunty Ruth’s door open and let the tears fall. Goddamn it, why did you have to antagonize the most handsome man you'd ever seen in your entire life? Joel Miller, you think. You should despise him. He was unnecessarily mean and condescending. Sure, you had been in the way, but how were you to know he would be sleeping at 1 pm on a Sunday? You groan, at this point anyway, he probably loathed you. Yet, strangely enough, you had never encountered a man who could twist your insides as intensely as he did. In the 5 minutes conversion you had with him, you felt your inside growing hot and your belly erupting in a million of butterflies. You wonder what his eyes would be like if they weren’t hard and angry. They were brown and warm, so you imagined how they would feel raking over your skin with longing or desire. Yeah, that’s not going to happen, you think as your mind cringes back to the awful words he said.
Joel Miller. Even the mere sound of his name left a strong, lingering flavour in your mouth. You squirm, feeling conflicted, not knowing whether to yearn for his strong domineering presence or simply try your best to avoid him like the plague this summer. You shake your head, you'll sort out your feelings, or whatever hormones this man triggered, later. Right now, you just need to find the damn freezer and try to cool down. However, after meeting Joel Miller, you're well aware that the fire inside you will continue to burn hard for some time.

12 April ‘24 - [arch] Making a Comic in a Week, Disability and Burnout (all unrelated, of course!)
Hey Shri and folks!! LOVED seeing part three of the Lionheart Brothers cover. Stunning!! And awesome to see your process. Also cool to see what you’ve been looking at lately - I’ve just finished a rewatch of Firefly and the characters are still living in my brain a bit.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Life is a bit relentless, huh. I’ve spent a lot of time and energy working on disability stuff - meal prepping, sorting silly government forms, all that sort of thing. Exhausting and super easy to burn out on - but also sets me up for the future in my personal life and for illustration! I want to discuss the balance of pushing and burnout this week with an excellent example - I tried foreshadowing to make a comic in a week.
When I was in uni, it was easy to create cool stuff regularly - you’re constantly receiving prompts, doing activities, getting feedback etc. I still have access to these things, especially through my shared studio community, but it’s not as easy as it used to be. I miss creating finished books, in particular, so frequently. So! I challenged myself to make a comic in time for Something’s Fishy Zine Fair in Plymouth tomorrow, which was just over a week from when I started.
I had come up with the concept for the comic while travelling, written the script and done a couple of sketches. I often come up with concepts while travelling - I just don’t often follow through :P Here’s a couple of sketches I did on the journey.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I’ve been chatting to lots of people about what they enjoy about art - I’ve noticed that I tend to crave the end of the project and having the physical thing with high expectations of myself, which doesn’t lead to a very enjoyable process. Many people I’ve spoken to enjoy the ‘zone’, the focus of the project where you’re just figuring stuff out and not thinking about anything else. Bearing this in mind, I wanted to make the process as fun as possible - this comic is for fun and not for the purpose of having the thing at the end.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I started with a few development sketches of the characters and the vibe. I used ink and my funky kakimori dip pen, plus some brushes. These mediums are hard to control, which makes them good for development for me - they don’t have to be good, this time is for gestural drawings and ideas generation. Some continued doodles in my sketchbook from some downtime :) Fish wouldn't leave my brain.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
After a bit of character development, I began by adapting my script into pages - I read the script and try to feel the vibes on how I want to pace the comic, considering:
How much dialogue and plot do I want to put on one page?
Do I want it to be more text or image-heavy?
Do I want it to feel fast and snappy, or slow and dreamy?
Which parts of dialogue feel like a page-turner?
Are there any twists that should be separated from the rest of the scene by a page-turn?
Are there any moments that should sit next to each other on spreads?
Tumblr media
You can see me changing some dialogue around, writing as I draw a bit. Also playing around with some weird looking fish?? With noses???
I got a bit stuck at this stage. I was scared my script wasn’t good enough. And worried about if I could even draw fish. After a couple of chats with art friends, and some rambling in my slides, I reminded myself that the lesson this time is fun!! Have fun goddamn it!! No point doing it if you’re not having fun. (it’s not like we make any money from riso printed zines anyway)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Screenshots from my slides - these things are wonderful for gathering inspiration and venting when you run into a problem with the project.
So I decided to just go for it. Not even thumbnail, but just take a scene and draw it. I asked a studio friend to choose a number, and I drew that scene.
Because of the chatty style of the comic, and how much dialogue there was gonna be, I knew there would have to be a LOT of panels. I decided to make it A4, and use a 8x6 grid. I’ll draw the images at A3, and than scale them down to A4 when it comes to printing.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
left: A3 grid on the lightbox, for tracing over || Right: A4 grid with boxes of different sizes for me to reference while choosing the layout - this way I can see the final print size
Tumblr media Tumblr media
First drafts of a couple of random pages from Moon Noodles.
The first day I drew several pages that I was really happy with! It gave me a lot more confidence in my script - seeing it come to life with the characters on the page - some pages even got some laughs which was nice. I would look at the page plan, script, and spend a few minutes thinking about the pacing and how I wanted the dialogue on the page, and the go straight in with the dip pen - with the awareness that it might be wrong. This process taught me an important lesson - you have to just do it. The thing is, if you do it and it’s bad, you just do it again but different. Repeat. Staring at that script thinking it wasn’t good enough wasn’t actually going to get anything done, be fun OR make nice stuff. You have to do the thing. Then you make it better.
The other thing I learnt from this process was to give it space. There was a day where I did one page, hated it and thought the pacing was off, and spent the next day trying to translate it into two pages. It didn’t work. I came back the next day and realised the first page I’d done was fine and just needed a couple of tweaks. Do the thing. Let it be.
Here’s a little picture of my setup.
Tumblr media
(Sorry all of Printhaus for hoarding the light box and getting ink all over it :( love u)
Useful stuff!!!!
Finished pages to refer to, plus more A3 paper underneath for future pages
Laptop with script
Dip pen, ink and water for keeping that little guy clean!
development sketches for relevant scenes
Page plan (you can see I have shortened it considerably since last time - now it's 20-24 pages and noted on scraps of paper so I can move them around if there's any changes of plan)
A4 sheet with boxes to show the sizes of the final print
also scissors??? i don't remember why they're here
But then monday morning came. I realised that if I wanted to get it all printed by friday, I needed to:
Plan and 12 pages on Monday, and 12 on tuesday
Get the final files for every one of the 24 pages by Thursday
Print friday morning
Travel down to devon Friday afternoon
Fair Saturday
Not only is that basically impossible, but it would be very bad for my health, make for a rushed comic, and most importantly, not be fun. The thing is, I’ve made whole comics in a couple days before. I figured I could still do it. But that’s not actually a good thing - my skills and taste have increased, I'm aiming for bigger, more ambitious projects and yet I expect the timelines to stay the same? It doesn’t exactly work like that now, does it?
But I kept going anyway.
Tuesday morning, I decide to get the cover put together so I can get the preorder post-out. I get pulled into an unexpected meeting, and then spend the rest of the day inking this thing and getting the files sorted. At this point, I know for sure It’s not possible to get this done. Thankfully my two Printhaus besties were in. They helped me drop it. I love this comic, it feels fun and joyous and I’ve enjoyed working on it - lets not rush it and end up with a bad product that will bother me. Let’s take time, explore it and really enjoy the process!!!
All is not lost for Something’s Fishy Zine Fair, though! Originally, I had planned to do a print of the Moon Noodles Cover for preorders only, but why not print that for Something’s Fishy?? Anyone who buys the print will also get a discount code for the pre-order :D (also here’s the pre-order link)
So here’s a few images of the Moon Noodles cover print and the process!! I hope to see some of you at Something’s Fishy. It’s a joy to visit Plym again :D
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sketch printed out at A3, and 2 of the layers. I scanned these in and edited them on photoshop to get the files ready to print.
Tumblr media
Coming to terms with the fact that 1) I don’t have illustration superpowers even if my expectations are that high and 2) I’m disabled (yes it’s been years and it’s still hard to face) is really hard!! I need to spend most of my time when I’m well preparing for when I’m not AND fight the urge to work until I burn out, which I always lean towards because it’s nice escapism.
The thing is that living, and not being too exhausted to move is much more important than a comic. And if I am gonna spend my functioning time making comics, they’re gonna have to be enjoyable to make. Otherwise your life slips away from you and you haven’t been really living it.
Hope that hasn’t got too deep for you. I think that stuff is important to face, especially since the creative life is so incredibly busy.
Thank you for reading this goddamn essay, I hope that it helped in some way! As usual, feel free to drop an ask if you have any questions.
Chat soon :D Archie <3

Note
hello there!
I just saw your CotL cosplay and I absolutely love it! I’m planing of making one of my own and I’m wondering if I can use the pattern you used please? It’s alright if you don’t want to!
I unfortunately have no idea how to share the pattern!
I can tell you how I did it though!
(WARNING! your taking the advice of a autistic nerd who has never sewn clothes before and is terrible at math!)
I took old dot matrix printer paper (I suggest using tissue gift wrap paper instead if you can) and taped them together into a 48 page rectangle paper (8X6) before making a hemisphere approx 5 inches in from the outer pages edge...then it was about 20-21-22 inches (your going to have to play with that number) to space out the points equally so it would be identical on each side while also being evenly spaced! I drew lines back to the center-point for each point of data (the points and the inner points) then for the inner points its exactly 11 inches in from the edge of the hemisphere!
at this point I was exhausted because I'd been crawling on my swept floors for 3-5 hours doing way too much math and measurements... so I suggest grabbing a soda or something and having a good stretch before continuing!
when your sewing it I actually sewed THROUGH the paper (it was a nightmare and I do NOT recommend it even though I got perfectly straight lines) I then dabbed the sewed seams with a few drops of water to get the paper to cleanly pop off the seams!
now I used a polyester twin sized fitted bed sheet (I took the elastic out and ironed it) and so I sewed through both layers and turned it inside out before doing a extremely small stitch alllllll along the outer edge of the cloak avoiding a 8 inch area at the central top area of the coal for a neckline/neck access (stitching from the edge should be slightly thinner then a Apple charging cord for thickness or half a centimeter if that makes sense) and I used small Bulldog clips to secure things in this project as I prefer then and I'm terrible with pushpins!
the next hassle will be the shoulder seams! (this was a massive PITA!) now I don't know about you...but I'm autistic and I don't like feeling seams in my clothes! but initially I put on the cloak and gathered where it was bunching evenly on each side and pinned it using larger bulldog clips to help me shape things out! I also had to make another bunch near the back of the neck on both sides as well so I had 4 seams total for doing the neck and shoulders! my shoulders are pretty broad for a woman so mine went around 5 inches long for the seams! that's both the shoulder ones and the neck ones! (honestly mine was a bit of a mess but it looks like the mod of the blog "Wasteless Crafts" knows what they're talking about so I suggest talking to them or looking at their post here https://wastelesscrafts.tumblr.com/post/669271039396724736 ) so when I was bringing in the seams to fit it I opened up the neck area and inverted the bulldog clipped angles so that I wouldn't have any seams touching my skin! it was a tedious nightmare lining everything up... but it does feel great! make sure after sewing the little triangle shaped seams to help shape the shoulders and neck areas to trim the excess before slipping it back inside the lining of the cloak!
now that you should have the fitted neck area done! (srsly find a tutorial don't trust me for this because mine is a nightmare with a happy ending!) feel free to take another break for a soda and a stretch because that was hard! and your doing great!
now onto the ribbon! my ribbons about a inch wide and I measured it 2 inches from the very outside edge of the cloak to the very bottom edge of the ribbon! bulldogging the top of the ribbon every inch to keep it straight! for the inner corners it was easy as I just tucked the ribbon under at a angle to create a straight line down the center and a point at the top! sew the bottom edge of the ribbon down first! half a centimeter or closer if possible for inner points I used bulldog clips to hold the points as I went along!
now the outer points are a sharper angle! and your going to have to measure the tip of the first ribbon to get your measurement for how far the sharply the ribbon needs to go to into the point... for me it was 2 inches from the edge and 3 and a half inches from the point tips! (I used the measuring tape every inch to ensure I had it working correctly and was centered!) now when your sewing the tip you have to sew the ribbon straight down to EXACTLY where the center of the point is! keep the needle down and put your machines foot up so you can grab that ribbon and pull it to create the sharp angle! make sure you keep everything in the fold under the edge of the ribbon and pin it using the good ol bulldog clips exactly 2 inches from the edge! you'll refine the points to look good while doing the top edge!
once the ribbon is finally attached on one side you can start on the infamous top edge! sew it as close as you did the other one! when you get to a inner point you sew to the very upper tip of the inner point of the ribbon and then run the seam DIRECTLY down the center of the ribbon just barely sewing down the fold-line! as close as humanly possible! if you have to hand-crank the machine then do it! go down and then back-stitch it up before continuing! when getting to a lower point your actually going to have to use tweezers and probably hand-crank the machine as you'll need to gently snip part of the ribbon and use tweezers to fold and hold it in the correct position and you do that same ultra close sewing down the ribbon center and back-stitch up!
now your ribbon should be done after 5 inner points and 4 outer points (end points are just folded over and sewn down around the edge of the cloak to prevent fraying)
srsly take a hydration and stretch break now because you've done a lot!
now comes the final touches! you smooth out the fabric and use your small bulldogs to pin the bias tape to the neck area! sealing up the neck and finishing the cloak! I left a edge of around 1 and a half inches of overlay of bias tape on one side so I could gently sew some velcro in to keep it closed! (my bias tape was a bit thin so I think I may reinforce my velcro with a snap-clip as its a bit weak)
and with all that done you now have a cute lamb cultist fleece!

I’m bored and started to hyperfixate, so let’s reorganize the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe roster to be less terrible and disorganized! Let’s look at the initial roster, as it currently stands (Wave 6 isn’t out yet).
Tumblr media
First, let’s take all of the alternate versions of characters and merge them (using the alt menu system used for characters like Yoshi), and reorganize the characters a little bit.
Tumblr media
Wow! So much room opened up! That’s a whole 15 extra spots, just from not having the roster organized by a crazy person.
Next, let’s look at all the characters that are missing from the first 7 games, or got introduced in Tour:
Tumblr media
Huh, that’s a lot missing! For reference, + means the character has notable alts, while - means the character IS an alt of an existing character. So, in total, that’s 13 total missing... with 15 slots open on our new, reorganized chart. We have an extra 2 spots, folks!
Let’s try to organize all the missing characters in a way that makes sense.
Also, let’s drop two new crossover characters in the 2 extra slots, so that the bottom row is entirely crossover characters. How about Zelda and Captain Falcon? Those two feel right, especially Captain Falcon who’s been overdue for an appearance since Wii.
Tumblr media
This puts humans in the first row. The second row is Yoshi characters and Kongs. The third row is the Toads and all the random NPC drivers. Rows four and five are dedicated to the Koopas and the 3 “boss” drivers. And finally, row six is the crossover characters, starting with R.O.B. and ending with Mii.
Human group, Yoshi group, Kong group, Toad group, Miscellany group, Boss group, Koopa group, and crossover group. It’s not perfect, but it looks way less disorganized and repetitive than the current roster’s organization. AND it can fit in all of the existing drivers into 8 Deluxe’s 8x6 grid. If you wanted, you could even put all of Tour’s costumes in there for added flavor.

This post details a surreal headspace! If surreality is not your jam, don't read! This is really more of a logging post for myself, anyway.
- Tansy 🌿
Ok so I tried going to the headspace again (a tough task) and encountered "Headmate" (not going to say their name, they've been tired out lately and unable to front because our brain keeps trying to pull them forward when they don't want to.) They were motionless, just standing unresponsive, and just...shirtless for some reason? That headmate would never be caught without something covering their upper body, so it was weird to see. I commented on it, and with almost robotic motions, they covered their chest with their arms and turned to face the building. Okay. Whatever. Weirder stuff has happened here. So I went out to the forest (what makes up the majority of the headspace.) The forest is REALLY hilly, unrealistically so, I had to climb up and down the hills using tree branches and roots. I got about a quarter mile into the forest before I had the idea to put "Headmate" to bed, figuring they've been forced to stay awake for so long that maybe they'll go back to normal after a good sleep. So I made the trek back to the village, and literally just slung them over my shoulder. Now, for some reason, the buildings in this village are a little too small for people. So I found the biggest one, though the ceiling was a little low and the room was maybe about 8x6 feet. I manifested a bed in it and laid them down there and they seemed to instantly sleep. So that's cool. Hopefully brain doesn't try to keep waking them up and wearing them out. After that, my headspace stamina started to wear out, so I tried to go back into the forest but didn't last very long. Now I'm back on the surface (what I call meatspace/irl/whatever) and writing this post. This is mostly for myself to log my experience. Also, I was listening to the ENA OST the whole time, so it may have influenced the weirdness of events.
Also, during the first few minutes, I had a Shinx tail for some reason? Not gonna question that...

Es el segundo vuelacerca del criollo en tres días para llegar a 11 en la campaña. Castro inauguró su cuenta jonronera. Ronald Acuña Jr se fue este martes de 5-2 con una carrera impulsada. Andrés Giménez guía a Guardianes. Got Félix a win for his birthday 🥳 pic.twitter.com/Z6cclvb8FM — Baltimore Orioles (@Orioles) June 21, 2023 Harold Castro inauguró su cuota jonronera [caption id="attachment_78032" align="aligncenter" width="696"] Harold Castro.
Perdió May (2-4, 6.23), cediendo imparable, 1 carrera que es inmerecida, dio 1 pasaporte y no retiró out alguno.

me: it makes sense how things ended, I mean, circumstances weren’t at their best, Arya had things to do, she couldn’t be unfair to Gendry, she wouldn’t expect him to just wait for her, things are finally looking up for Gendry too, this is okay, in the end they’re okay and that’s okay,
also me: but they’re so in l o v e

GOT S8E6 Finale
I was already done with the show, absolutely, completely, BUT it still hurt how they ruined characters, and most of the plot.
Dany becoming the mad queen, I’ve mentioned this before. I could see her potentially becoming a villain, but NOT in 3 episodes! No logic whatsoever! She has spent seasons (!) freeing people, and murdering evil people - not children, not innocent people -, she has spent season doing great things, good things, and most of us ended up liking her for it. There were tiny signs that she could become mad, eventually, but that wasn’t enough to make her go full on crazy within a few episodes. It’s like the writers skipped a whole season or dare i say 2 and just jumped to the end. What we needed was to see Dany’s character develop from this good and kind queen to this power-driven mad one. BUT we didn’t receive that! Nope we got someone who changed personalities like a flip of a switch. Illogical and heartbreaking to see a character and it’s whole arc ruined.
Jon’s parents, his lineage, how he’s a Targaryen, how his parents loved eachother and how his father wasn’t a tyrant and was a good person. All of that didn’t fucking matter, try changing my mind! He wasn’t the prince who was promised, ha didn’t kill the night king, he killed Dany, which could have been done by anyone else! And then at the end no one even tells the people who he really is! He just goes back to the fucking wall, where he started off. I get it, he belongs there, i see how he could be happier there too, but after killing the woman he loved, i don’t think he’s happy anywhere, so sending him there was pointless.
What about the prophecy???? Cersei would rule, but die cuz a more beautiful younger queen will take over. And the show writers did what? Killed her, made Dany rule for 30 minutes, and was killed off, and now Bran is the ruler of the 6 kingdoms. Oh yeah, a more beautiful, younger queen, uhuh i see that. Also Winterfell being a kingdom of it’s own, uhuh what about the other 6? Are they just like “yeah one kingdom out of the 7 decided to be independent but we are totally fine with one person ruling over the rest of us”. No one tells me this is how they all think.
Jaime’s end is also heartbreaking, i just can’t deal with it, his character development was thrown out the window. Also why tf is Brienne staying with Bran instead of staying with Sansa?? Sansa is someone who got a decent end at least btw, and that’s about it.
I expected this season to be good, and it started off alright too, but then after the 3rd episode it was a complete shit show, the worst season of all times, and to finish an amazing show like this??? It’s heartbreaking to me. My heart also cries for Drogon. But Ghost at least got a fucking pet from Jon.
Varys died for no reason, Bronn just randomly showed up, Sam remained useless. Arya going west, fine, let her be an adventurer or an explorer. Gendry lost all his relevancy to the plot apparently right after he slept with Arya.
All in all, it was horrible. I’ve read better fanfictions, written for FREE, while D&D got a shitton of money for this mess. And that’s the tea on that.
