Every so often I feel like I’m overreacting about the whole “being in a room that I haven’t gotten to design and decorate myself actively worsens my depression” thing but like I finally got to hang one (1) whole thing up on the wall and I feel physically high

#it’s just a little peg thing for holding bags and stuff #but I don’t have a drill that works on the concrete walls out here or any anchors to make it stay in😔 #so all that’s holding it up is a pair of thumbtacks #had to put up a very small array of decorative things on it because if it falls over from the weight #I will throw myself out the window #sort of thinking of bringing my taxidermy ferret in here and hanging it on one of the other old nails in the wall #just have a little guy right above my bed to keep me safe uwu

i feel the need to write my thoughts down a bit (and i hope this doesn't come out as like. weird or smth.)

so like. jan's photos have dark background, and he almost blends in with it. he's closed off and guarded, he hides behind his hair and his hand and desperately doesn't want others seeing him as he is. when they are together but not behind the "door", he doesn't let nace be the one to say it, whatever that it is, yet still he's not quite ready to say anything himself. this choice is his.

nace's photos show him struggling with something, but he's still quite open. he shows his tattoos (which are a way to express himself), he quite literally wears his heart (the tour bus which means his band which means his family) on his sleeve. and even if he's struggling a bit, he's willing to lay down and wait, he's accepted it and is content with it.

and then they are together. they are hiding behind a see through glass door that shows them to the world but, still, it's just them behind it and no one can get through it. they can be comfortable and safe and vulnerable there because they know that even if they are visible to others, they still have each other to lean on. they're each other's safe sweater.

thinking about how the only reason sunny started reconnecting with the world and realising he deserves love is because kel never gave up on him. even though sunny isolated himself from everyone kel still called him and tried to reach out. and it’s so pivotal it’s literally the key choice that determines whether or not you get the good ending. the path to healing and contentment depends on whether or not you take the hand kel offers you. and sunny learns to forgive himself because he keeps making that choice. he opens the door for kel, and therefore chooses reconciliation and personal growth. it’s why he’s able to save basil in the end. because kel is strong and resilient and kind. because kel is lonely and has grieved in silence for years but still looks for sunny everywhere he goes. because they’re both invisible. because everything that sunny needs, kel has.
