Father or Prince Christmas, carrying the Yule log, illustration from 1848. The personification of Christmas was part of the centuries-old European folkloric tradition of pre-Christian midwinter celebrations, associated with the Slavic god of the Sun and fire, as well as with counterparts in other religions, and with the burning of an oak log or sapling on each hearth to restore strength to the Sun and enter the period of its rise and the lengthening of the day. From 1780: “Here comes I, old Father Christmas, welcome or welcome not, I hope that old Father Christmas will never be forgot…”

As I was editing my original story, it occurred to me I was writing Jegulus long before I found out Jegulus existed :D No wonder I find the ship so appealing. Also, in case anyone's interested, here's a new chapter of The Price of Magic.
“Sure. If you can squeeze in. The stall is kind of small for the three of us.”
He jumped to his feet in one lightning-fast movement, utilizing speed that couldn’t have been natural. I suspected he must’ve been cheating, using magic subconsciously, or imbuing himself with raw Aether energy to pull off a feat like this. Regular gym sessions achieved so much.
“Three? Are we expecting someone else to join in? Normally, that’d sound like fun.” He ran the tip of his index finger along my jaw. “But not with you.”
“What do you mean, ‘not with me’? Not fun enough?” Despite a threesome being the furthest thing from my mind, my chest pinched at Finn’s dismissal, causing my voice to jump up an octave.
“Should’ve been clearer,” he rumbled, moving closer. Our noses were only centimeters apart, his eyes dark and stormy. They roved over my face as if he were writing up a mental catalog of my every feature. “No, I won’t be sharing you, sweetheart. You’re mine.”
The quiet possessive growl in Finn’s voice had my knees turning into pudding, and I almost collapsed in a dead swoon. But, drawing on the quickly diminishing remains of my self-respect, I suppressed any outward manifestations of his effect on me, locked up my limbs to stay upright, and schooled my face into pleasant neutrality.
“No. I meant you, me, and your ego.”
Finn barked out a laugh. “Ha. Well, if you’re a good boy, I’ll squeeze into the stall with my ego, and you can watch.” He drew closer, his lips hot against my ear. “I’ll even put on a show.”

The forgotten dream land of Phantasmagoria
i am very happy with this piece. it took me long to finish, but it's close to my heart because the background really resembles the rural scenery of my small town where i live. the big empty fields that seem to stretch on forever... it's all very dear to me.
(based on "Październik" by Piotr Stachiewicz)
i'm gonna slowly start posting the lore of my fantasy world here as a mini series of posts
introduction
Phantasmagoria is a fabled whimsical land of magic and the arcane, hidden away from the rest of the world. the land was creted by old gods as a sanctuary for all that has been lost and forgotten. It is a land where common sense and logic no longer apply
it exists on the boundary of reality and dream and is inhabited by ancient gods and multitude of diffrent magical creatures of old folk tales and legends. With lush landscapes, magical creatures, and a delicate balance between forgotten traditions and modern mysticism, Phantasmagoria beckons those who dare to explore its captivating secrets.
