I like to imagine Kudou "Got together with Yoichi in less than 2 months" is infuriated with Izuku "Miscommunication with Kacchan for 10+ years" Midoriya
He is tapping his foot waiting for those kids to talk and kiss already
every now and again I think about bakugou's "aji fry" shirt in order to draw it, but I have just now connected the dots that he's wearing a food shirt, and a ridiculous one at that. it's like wearing a shirt with just the word "burger and fries" on it. I also like to think that the shirt comes in multiple colors but he purposefully chose black, bc the rest of his closet is black. insane. he claims he and deku aren't alike but he's JUST like deku and his silly "shirt" shirts
Jeez, what to even say...Happy Year Anniversary of your death big guy. Happy Year of killing us all slowly with your painfully obvious absence. May we not have another.🖤
Snagged this screenshot off of twitter, who got it from Reddit. I have to say I understand why this person has this impression—and that although that was not Horikoshi’s intention in writing All Might & Bakugou’s relationship, that was unfortunately the impression it gave off to many people, including me.
Majority of the time we see AM & Bakugou interacting it’s in relation to Izuku. The only times I can think of where AM does something of note directly “for” Bakugou’s benefit is when he consoled Bakugou following the Camino Ward incident and when he was driving Todoroki and Bakugou to and from their provisional license classes. Basically every other major interaction between them involves Izuku in someway. The OFA meetings, the trainings, even that pep talk he gives the two of them following DKvK2 involves Izuku and the both of them becoming the best heroes together. I think at some point early on he even admits that they both build each other up…? Meaning he accepts/understands that keeping Bakugou around Izuku guarantees the improvement/growth of his mentee.
I don’t think you’ll die if you admit that this is true, because I largely think this is Horikoshi sort of doing that thing where he fails to “look at the bigger picture” when it comes to his writing. I find he does this a lot. He wants to create an impression of one thing, but fails to set the pieces together to support it. As it stands, Bakugou & AM have a pretty detached relationship. I’m sure AM cares about Bakugou, but probably the same amount he cares about 1-A—which is to say not all that much based on what we’re shown… The truth is the relationships between AM & 1-A (excluding Izuku) simply haven’t been built enough for the audience to truly invest any emotions into them.
Might be a stretch but I think we’ve seen Transmission (the 2nd users quirk) before… being used by accident in order to save Eri. Either I’m delusional or hori has proved yet again that he’s a sneaky little shit.
He’s genuinely confused and is just kind of… guessing what just happened. There wasn’t an explanation and it was just never brought up again. If you look at this whole fight, there’s multiple times where it seems like it could’ve been used (especially in the anime but I don’t think that’s a fair statement considering how much extra there is in this fight in the anime) as well and Eri being there meant that his 5 minute timer was just being restarted so he didn’t experience the blow back.
If you remember, we never saw the seconds quirk get “unlocked” like Black Whip and Float did. Meaning, he’s been able to use it, he just hadn’t cuz he had no clue that OFA had multiple quirks within it and once he learned that it did he continued not to cuz the second user warned him about it.
It also explains nighteye not understanding how his foresight was changed… because it was really OFA just working on its own and Deku using that to his advantage... this was just the beginning of that trend.
Another thing I thought of when it was explained that OFA can work at a cellular level…
I already kinda thought about this and I’m sure others have too but—like the doctor said—his quirk saved his bones from breaking meaning that OFA quite literally has a mind of its own. Whether it’s OFAs desperation for self perseveration until AFO is defeated or OFA actually caring and protecting Deku… I’m really not sure. Every vestige has different ideals and morals, some we don’t even know so it’s just hard to tell. And there’s even characters in story that have concerns about OFAs genuineness.
I don’t have any theories that to go with this, I’m just saying that I think we’ve unknowingly seen transmission before because it was OFA working on its own kinda like blackwhip did. He was focused on a task and his quirk sought out to complete it even when no one knew what was actually happening.
(just like when Katsuki unlocked Cluster. He’s the only other person that’s quirk was worked like OFA in a sense that it got an unpracticed power up. Just like Deku, he had no idea how Cluster happened. It just… did. But we saw where that power up got him… Do I think he has OFA? As of rn, no. I think he’s become apart of it through connection to Deku and since OFA just does shit on its own sometimes I think it’s safe to say the quirk just kinda sucked him in once he died to protect him and ensure his revival since it’s some kind of all-knowing entity. Again, whether it be for self preservation or actual protection, I’m not sure… but that’s for a different post)
(I started to write this back in October but just… never posted it? So I’m just getting it out of drafts LMAO)
currently thinking about early 20-something's kiribaku and the idea that they are both trying to figure out a good work-life balance. like they are starting to get into the swing of things. and like they are in-universe, too.
kirishima is in the groove with sidekicking under fatgum and is Thriving™️ but also he wants to get their apartment feelinf like its theirs. or try and see where they are at getting their own place out in rural japan. hes struggling with being away from his bigger family and not having his moms by his side (calling is not the same for him).
while bakugou went headfirst, swallowed his godsforesaken pride, and jumped into starting a hero agency with Deku and Icyhot. hes deeling with hours of paperwork outside of work, of working close with his friend furned enemy turned rival turned sort of friend and the idiots boyfriend. and to top it off, his mom wont stop calling him and hes getting used to sharing a space with eijirou and the shitty hair leaves his towel on tje bedroom floor after showers.
like i need a kirishima and bakugou that are getting used to adulthood. a kiribaku that fights, domestically, but also are able to notice when the others day was just shit and can make the move to help them.
i just am thinking a lot about young adult kiribaku.
So while I was raking leaves today I was thinking that as much as Bakugou bullying Izuku and later redeeming himself is an integral part of canon, it could be improved upon. I’ve always been a fan of AUs where Bakugou is exactly the same personality wise but he stayed friends with Izuku and is his biggest supporter.
Basically baby Katsuki looked between his best friend in the whole wide world who just got diagnosed as quirkless and the prejudices of society and took Izuku’s side. And because this boy doesn’t do anything by halves he is so ride or die. Izuku trains his mind and body, he and Katsuki hang out constantly and make plans for their future agency, they spar together until they’re both formidable fighters. You can obviously insert canon in here which would be the same only Izuku a) starts out buff b) has a bit more confidence/self worth and c) All Might has to deal with an angry Pomeranian barking at him not to hurt Izuku 24/7. Aizawa clocks them as the class’s disaster duo within 5 seconds of meeting them and he’s not wrong but he underestimates the trouble they can get into.
Me, being me, I was playing with it today in my quirkless verse. They both get into Yuuei, Bakugou in Heroics and Izuku in Gen Ed. Katsuki would be hissing and sneering at his classmates for “stealing Deku’s spot” and it’s annoying but also kind of cute. They hear a lot about this Deku person, he’s tactically brilliant and a dirty fighter and doesn’t need a quirk to pound Katsuki into the ground. They’re shaking, imaging like a 7′ demonic beast. Only one day, the door to 1-A opens and its this sweet boy with curls and freckles and the friendliest smile like “Kacchan, you left your school books at my house again :)” And they collectively lose their shit that THIS is Deku. Then they watch him and Bakugou spar and its like, oh okay then, I am Afraid again.
Anyway, point being, I still think we could have had a compelling, interesting story if Bakugou was still his kind of douchey self but at the same time was Izuku’s best friend and biggest hype man.
Yeah, Izuku is not the sole person to ever call him Kacchan....
But Denki has only done it like what, once or twice?
Everyone else only called him that when they were kids and grew out of it.
Izuku is still undisputed champ of calling Katsuki Kacchan. Kacchan really wouldn't be as much of a thing, if he hadn't kept calling him Kacchan throughout their entire lives. That significance is not nothing.
So like...people aren't exactly wrong to associate Katsuki calling himself Kacchan with IZUKU and his refusal to let that name go.
So I don't fully know what this all means yet, but you cannot deny that the name Kacchan is so heavily associated with Izuku. And that the choice Katsuki made to call himself that over his chosen Hero name is unexpected, and interesting at least.

Prev: “In high school, did you do physics?”
“No way. APES.” As Ashido shakes her head, her earrings catch the pink neon light of the wall behind her. It looks like a little swarm of fireflies is caught in her hair. “Soooo much cooler. Our final exam was camping.”
“Oh, sick,” Jirou says.
“Well. Camping while digging up a lot of worms.” Ashido wrinkles her nose. Tomo must have been in the same class as her. In the few months after that exam, he remembers hearing a lot more about worms than a high school guy normally would put into a conversation. Maybe Tomo was doing it on purpose, to freak him out. It kinda worked on Tanaka. Tomo must’ve forgotten how many worms Eijirou moved back to the grass with his bare hands when they were kids.
On the lowest string of her guitar, Jirou plays a waaah waaah waaah sound. “See, Kirishima. It could be worse. You could be digging up worms right now.”
With his bare hands. “Nothing is worse than physics.”
Summary: In which Kirishima does no physics, works his way through all three floors of he and his friends' college house, and accidentally solves a problem that has nothing to do with the lab he has due tomorrow.
Note: happy 5 years of krbk!! 🎉 no matter how much time goes by, everything is good when it’s with them
god i will never stop fawning over how absolutely SPECTACULAR afo vs bakugou was. genuinely one of the best fights in the entire manga in terms of art, the themes, the pararells, the gayness, the fight itself, and just. everything about it makes me wanna scream into my pillow and chew on it
