I wrote a really negative rant post about All For the Game fanfic, so I want to write a positive one. I really do love this fandom, and it’s fanfics, and I want to share the love as well.

By category, here are some fics I love.

Time Travel

Once More by AkemiAsh I just call this The All For The Game Time Travel Fic in my head. It has a really interesting take on Neil and Andrew going back in time all the way to high school. It will probably never be finished, but I still love rereading it.

One More Time (With Feeling) by elesary All of elesary's fics are wonderful and there are several on this list. Many are unfinished, and though the author tends to update a new chapter every week, they rotate between fics. So if you don't like unfinished fics, this is not the one for you. However, if you want a time travel fic with Neil and Andrew going back to their first year at Palmetto, with really interesting characterization and relationship dynamics, this is the fic for you.

Amnesia

Back To The Start by fuzzballsheltiepants There's a lot of fuzzballsheltiepants on this list because they're an absolutely brilliant writer. You can't go wrong with any of their fics. Please note that they are locked though, so you will need an AO3 account to view them.

Muscle Memory by elesary Andrew wakes up in the hospital with no memory of the past few years. It's incredibly in-character and wonderful.

Presque Vue by elesary Neil wakes up in the hospital with no memory of anything since Andrew drugged him at Eden's. Really interesting start! Unfinished so far.

Raven!Neil

Black As the Raven Is, He’ll Get a Partner by nekojita I think this counts as a fandom classic, but it's my favorite Raven!Neil fic so I had to mention it anyway. The Ravens find Neil after he turns down the Foxes' offer to play at Palmetto and he is a Raven from the beginning of his college career. Featuring Neil & Jean friendship and really, really slow-burn Andreil. Mind the warnings for graphic violence and rape (I think it's slightly worse than canon)

Ever More Raven Neil (series) by ynnon this is a recent series where Neil goes to Evermore for Christmas and never leaves. It has two complete installments thus far but the series is technically unfinished. It is one of the most original takes on Raven!Neil I have ever seen and the writing is spectacular. I can't recommend it enough.

Neil’s Asexuality

Swinging Along the Z Axis by SpangleBangle Neil and Andrew discuss what attraction is like for Neil.

Sliding Doors by Moth2Flame Neil and Andrew never kiss during their time at Palmetto. Neil and Robin figure out their asexuality together, and Neil and Andrew get together years later.

The Test & All The Little Lights by fuzzballsheltiepants The first fic really focuses on Andrew, the second on Neil. I call this the "Willing vs. Want To" fic in my head and think it's a really interesting exploration of asexuality (particularly in the second installment).

Random Andreil

Not Nothing by TheRainbowElectric Possibly the most brilliant AFTG fic in existence. I cannot hype it up enough. Seriously, just go read it.

Except When It’s No by TheRainbowElectric The one where they try handcuffs and it goes badly. Based off Nora’s extra content.

Out of the Ashes by puddlejumper99 Neil and Andrew meet pre-canon when, after his mother’s death, Neil starts attending high school in Columbia instead of Millport.

A Mewment Like This by fuzzballsheltiepants I'm usually not the biggest fan of AUs, but this one is wonderful. Andrew and Neil meet at the vet because they both have cats with stupid names. It might sound fluffy, and it is clever and funny, but it also explores some of the darker themes and character development that happen in the books.

if every time we touch, you get this kind of rush by Talls This fic has Andrew and Matt kissing (still with Andreil and Matt/Dan as the main ships) and it sounds absolutely insane but just trust me, you have to read it. This is also possibly the best-written makeout scene I have ever read in my life.

I tried to fix this, but the amount of fics that start with a “P” in my bookmarks is almost nonexistent. So I’m going to just stick with my incorrectness; forgive me. 911 Lone Star

Say You’ll Remember Me: This is a Ryderdie WIP by @myemergence, and I really look forward to more. It’s one of my absolute favorite tropes (Amnesia!) and a canon-divergent AU for 2x9 featuring one of the best fictional couples to ever exist. I love Judd and Grace Ryder so much. Jenny nails the angst in that way where it hurts but GOSH it is good. It’s just *chef’s kiss* and I can’t wait to see where the rest of the journey takes us. 

Searching For A Trail to Follow Again:  Paige’s (@sunshinestrand) fics are classic, butterflies in your stomach, grinning from ear-to-ear, romantic comedies. This AU was so charming and, like all of Paige’s writing, leaves you with the biggest smile on your face because you’re just over-the-moon Carlos and TK have found one another in this story and in all her AUs (again and again and again). Contrary to popular belief among certain showrunners, letting characters just be happy is quality and compelling storytelling, and I’m grateful for fic writers like Paige who know that and give us a slice of that joy. 

So Many Somethings: Rae’s (@iboatedhere) AUs are iconic by now, but this one will always be near and dear to my heart. Not just because it’s the You’ve Got Mail AU and it’s an incredible nod to the film, but also because it was the first fic I ever beta-read for her, and the whole process bonded us. Rae, thanks for trusting me! This fic is remarkable, I love the balance of enemies-friends-lovers and the banter. Oh, the Banter™️. Nora Ephron would be proud! 

Sanctuary: If I had to use one word to summarize this fic, it would be ✨DESTINY✨. Honestly, I think all of Kim’s (@reyescarlos) fics have a destiny vibe to them, you can feel that these two characters are meant to be together, and they will find a way. I loved the first meeting in this one; the tension in the scene was palpable, and Kim’s writing always makes you feel like every interaction is happening right in front of you. She’s magic in that way ✨. 

Slowly Becoming Lovers: I love fics that show us the little moments between Carlos and TK, how they fall in love through the little things, and the way Holly (@morganaspendragonss) portrays that journey in these short vignettes is so so SO beautiful. This is one of the fics I have reread the most, according to the AO3 clicks lol, and there is a reason for that. It is truly lovely. Also, the title is inspired by one of my favorite Ben Platt songs, and fits the story perfectly! Highly recommend! 

Red, White, and Royal Blue

Snowed in? Snow problem: This fic is such a blast to read, lol. I laughed so hard, and I still laugh just as hard when I reread it because the ugh!Hunter slander is top-tier. A direct quote: “Well, I’m not bunking in with Hunter or you’ll be dealing with a murder by the end of the day.” Same, Alex. Same. Forever mood.😂 Add to that, “there was only one bed” plus Rae’s (@rmd-writes) ability to write Sexual Tension™️ x 5467893204858, and this college au is a must-read. Also, THE TITLE. YAAASS. A+ pun. No notes. 

Sink Beneath the Waves: This fic. THIS FIC. You know how in every fandom, there are stories that are essentially required reading, this one by @indomitable-love is one of those fics for me in the RWRB fandom. The love, the yearning, the pain, and the utter joy at Henry’s “I’m into making History.” Getting the chance to see these canon plot points from Henry’s POV is a gift, and I’m so grateful this fic exists for us to revisit again and again.

My very first multichapter fic "The Dream of Atlas," Tentoo x Rose. It was in my very early days of writing so it's a bit of a train wreck but I'm too nostalgic to pull it down. A Ten x Rose reunion involving a sensory deprivation tank, and trying to contact each other, may or may not involve the Dimension Cannon. He keeps seeing her. He ends up back at Torchwood Estate, and spooky stuff happens. Angsty but happy at the end. Rated E eventually

"Causal Nexus" my current DW wip, centering on the episodes The Stolen Earth and Journey's End. I only have a few chapters left. It's a Ten x Rose reunion AU where the Dalek that ruins their moment is removed from the equation. Still rated T but soon will be rated E.

A Ten x Rose fluffy fic where they visit Disney together

Mass Effect:

A Femshep x Liara post- destroy ending reunion multichapter fic. It's 4 years later and the Normandy gang are still stranded on an outlying planet waiting for the Mass Relays to be fixed. Liara knows Shep is not dead because she's her bondmate, she'd feel it. EDI lives and so does Legion and the Geth. Shepard has been cared for somewhere in the Arctic, where this part of the Citadel has broken off and landed. Her caretaker is a Keeper, now free of Reaper control. She's suffering from amnesia but slowly remembers Liara and they feel each other's presence. Eventual reunion and lots of emotional telepathic smut

Horizon Forbidden West/Burning Shores:

-Aloy x Seyka fic "The Space Between the Stars" where Aloy returns to the burning shores and they begin an actual relationship while dealing with trauma and the aftermath of what happened with Londra. They will eventually head east towards Nora territory and north to The Cut. Rated E, already lots of emotional smut.

-Aloy x Seyka fic "Orpheus" where Aloy turns around and stays one more night after the kiss, and they go on an adventure to find the dinosaur figurines. T right now, eventual E.

📖 + The Flash?

So far I have:

The Malcolm Thawne amnesia fic - an AU where Malcolm ends up being the one dying at the end of S1, but after being yanked through the singularity to Earth-3 his dormant meta powers activate and heal him but both the physical and mental trauma have done a number on his memory and he remembers nothing about who he is. Jay Garrick takes him under his wing and he slowly starts to remember fragments (namely that he had a brother), but there's a question mark over whether he'll ever regain all his memories or not.

A Ramon brothers fic set just after S1 - Dante, already worried about Cisco after the events of the S1 finale, becomes even more worried when Cisco becomes increasingly stressed over something (they talk and this is how he finds out Eowells murdered his brother in an alternate timeline)

The Theodore Thawne chronicles AKA why I might end up watching at S5 as well as S4, as S5 plays a big role. Theodore, having fled to Canada with his family after his powers manifested, finds out that his old childhood friend, Nora, has been visiting Eobard, realises this means nothing good, and also runs back to 2018/19 to try and get through to her - this series will be at least a few fics long with Theodore experiencing several timeline changes (notably going from Raised In A Bad Future to Raised In A Good Future) and will end up meeting his long-dead uncle Eddie in the last fic (though the last fic will mostly be from Eddie and Malcolm's POV)

Originally-a-flufftober-fic-before-I-changed-my-mind - a fairytale retelling of The Flash (with added Westhallen)

Eddie and Ronnie survive the events of S1 but no one realises that for months because they get yanked through to Earth-3 by the Singularity - Eddie takes some time to recover and Ronnie frets over him the whole time because he feels guilty over what happened, feeling that if he'd only gotten down there quicker Eddie wouldn't have had to shoot himself (and feeling even more guilty when it becomes clear that it was actually the combination of Eddie's depression and Eobard's words during the two week captivity). They eventually become good friends.

Okay, five headcanons for an au where Sanji is part of Aloy's world :)

AU Headcanons |still accepting|

Sanji might possibly be a lost or forgotten royal from a tribe that either no longer exists or is hiding waiting for the right time to strike. A tribe that he wants nothing to do with. 

He was raised by Zeff who found him at a young age after saving him from the Watchers that were wandering around the area. Zeff is either apart of the Nora, but might live where he can’t be bothered by others quite often unless he is someone who travels quite often with the others he met along the way. 

Following the teachings of Zeff, Sanji still fights with the strength in his legs which has been enough to deal with the machines that have crossed his path. He might carry some simple weapons to help him deal with other matters depending on what he comes across while wandering around 

There probably are hints about the family that Sanji comes from either by his physical features or Zeff might know who he truly is. There might be rumors floating around as well because of the issues that came from the family Sanji was born into. 

There is a chance that because of the trauma that Sanji faced while growing underneath the thumb of his father, he either locked those traumatic memories away or an incident before being found by Zeff caused him to suffer from amnesia.

 BUT! That dress is a *BEEEP* to draw. I tried many different ways to draw it and I can’ t make it look good. Or I just can’t get to look as cute as the original design.

I’m currently working on my own au over at @ameliaandsteven , trying to figure out how to make Steven look unique due to circumstance. Currently Finishing up the intro comic (8 freaking pages someone stop me).  About the chibis/plushies! I have been just using these as breaks between larger projects because these are so simple and easy to do. I love them so much and it makes me want to binge reread every series as I doodle these little cuties (which.. I did)! I don’t recommend it since its taking a break from drawin to draw more.. heh oops.

Steven pulls harder and harder, but smol wyrm refuses to let Boneless Connie go. Connie, Older Connie and Nora go to help him, but the only thing they manage to do is stretch her so much that they start to wonder if she’s made of rubber.

Smol wyrm, tired of play tug of war, lets her go, causing the kids to fall and Boneless to be launched into one of Greg’s car washing machines and comes out as shiny as a brand new car.
