PLEASE tell more about your rival band I fuck with them so hard

forgot to respond to this but i'd be happy to talk about my oh cees

[characters in order of left to right: willow (she/her) jezra (she/they) mateo (he/she)]

the rival band is named excommunication and they are a bedroom pop band from seattle. all three band members met in college. jezra and mateo are best friends, and are practically attached at the hip, whereas willow is a little more new to the friend group and unaware of a lot of the lore behind jezra's band.

jezra and kim have a past. jezra and pepper are familiar with each other. but no one talks about what happened or why kim and jezra have such a horrible relationship now. about half of my band ocs know what happened and the other half don't. it's one of the main points of tension in the character interactions.

because of what happened between the two of them, jezra and mateo have set out prove a point to kim and anyone who sides with her. mateo is probably the most passionate and spiteful about the fued between kim and jezra, where as willow is probably the least passionate about it. timothy and roy are completely out of the loop on the drama and tbh they are better off that way.

excommunication (jezra's band) is wayy more popular than kim's band (SPEAKEASY) and ultimately in my story (IF I EVER MAKE A COMIC FOR IT GODDAMN) i think it would be super dramatic to have jezra offer kim's band a spot as their opener when they are on tour. simply because kim is a man of pride and would absolutely reject the notion of opening for jezra's band (and ultimately cave after the rest of the band members force her to.) and it would also lead to them having to interact more, and i certainly live for the drama.

as someone who just kind of intuitively knows how to care for people thanks to years of personal and professional experience honing that skillset, it's soooo frustrating every time I find myself needing the same treatment from others and being reminded that actually it's a rare and highly specialized skill. I genuinely cannot communicate the despair of knowing exactly what i need and also knowing I'm completely on my own until my one 55-minute-hour of biweekly therapy because we've entirely professionalized basic emotional support.

"What I should do is put a collar on you. With a tracking device on it. Like a pet."

He smirked, pinching your cheek as you were both making your way far from the cursed looping corridor.

You had your debut two weeks after arriving to the team, you played in a friendly against Atletico during the preseason. You entered the pitch as a sub for the second half and your impact was immediate. Jonatan saw the way you orchestrated the midfield, your communication with both the defenders and the strikers and how everything went smoothly. The game ended 5-0 with you being player of the match as you contributed with 2 assists, and you had participated in the building of a third goal.

Not only your impact in the team was noticeable but also the impact of joining Barcelona was noticeable. You started learning Spanish to speak with the staff, your teammates and with the fans, you also started to gain more muscle as training in Barcelona was more rigorous than with Arsenal. You felt as if you had been playing in Barcelona for years.

Before you knew it you already had been in Barcelona for a month and a half. You loved everything in Barcelona, the city, the warm weather, the staff, and your teammates.

You thought that joining such a united team it would have been difficult to be accepted and to join into the team’s dynamics however, it has been the opposite.

You could say that Mapi has become your closest friend in Barcelona, she made sure to make your adaptation easier and Ingrid became your confidant and the person with whom you went for advice as she understood perfectly what you were going through, being a foreigner joining Barcelona. Patri and Claudia became your annoying little sisters while with Jana and Bruna you felt the necessity of protecting them and teaching them everything you could, you were sure that those two would become superstars.

Having other British teammates joining at the same time as you have made everything better, you had a piece of home in Barcelona thanks to them.

Finally, Alexia. The chemistry you had her was undeniably, you made her laugh with your clumsiness and with the stories you told her about your adventures with Leah when you were younger and she made your heartbeat faster, you love the passion she has about the game for either the club or her national team. You couldn’t stop thinking about the Catalan and you couldn’t wait for her to be on the pitch again.

The only negative part of joining Barcelona was being separated from your family, specially from your twin. You talked with Leah every time it was possible, you missed being with her almost 24/7. Being separated from her while it gave you a sense of independence it was also the worst feeling ever.

Being in Liga F has taught about a new playing style, your skills have only gotten better and it was noticed by Sarina so it wasn’t a surprise when you were announced as part of the squad for the international break and that’s how you found yourself in the locker room after the last practice before the break saying goodbye to some of your teammates.

“Mapi! Don’t do anything to crazy while I’m gone!”

“Me?!? y/nn I don’t why would you say that” Mapi said with a fake innocent voice.

“You are right Mapi. How could I say that? You are an angel” you said smiling with a sarcastic voice.

You picked up your things before approaching Mapi, hugging her and whispering. “Mapi, if there’s something bothering you, and I mean anything at all you about the coach from your national team remember that I’m one call away.”

“Thank you y/nn, I can’t stand anymore Vilda and his staff. I don’t know what to do, I want to stay strong for the younger ones” she whispered back to you.

After saying goodbye to more teammates, you went looking for Alexia who should be finishing her physiotherapy session. You were waiting outside the physiotherapy room when she came out.

“Ale! I couldn’t leave without saying goodbye to you” you said looking directly to her eyes and giving her a soft smile.

She approached you and hugged you.

“If you couldn’t say goodbye I would have understood. Our schedules are hectic.”

“Ale, I had to say goodbye. I wouldn’t have been comfortable without it.”

You guys kept hugging until you heard Lucy “Williamson! We need to go! Are you ready?!”

You separated from Alexia and turned around towards Lucy yelled “Yeah Lucy! Just give me two more minutes!”

Lucy realized that you and Alexia were having a moment, before leaving she said “Two minutes Williamson!”

You turned around back to Alexia and said “Ale I know that I will only be gone for like 10 days, but I’ll miss you”

“I’ll miss you to y/n, good luck for your games y/nn, I’ll make sure to watch every single match. You better return to me, I mean Barcelona in one piece, I would hate for you to join me and the physios.”

“Don’t worry Ale, I’ll take care of my myself” you told her smiling.

Before leaving and turning around you gave her a kiss in the cheek close to her mouth.

If you had turned around to see her reaction, you would’ve seen her really red face and how her fingers here softly caressing the exact spot of the kiss.

St George's Park, you really had missed that place.

You, Lucy and Keira were just arriving to the place. You couldn’t wait to see your teammates again but the person you wanted to see the most was Leah.

As soon as you guys left the van you were greeted by the media team. After you waved and greeted the camera you entered the lobby.

Before you could even greet some teammates and Sarina a body had tackled you. You immediately recognized her blonde hair and hugged her.

“Look! The Wonder Twins are finally reunited” Tooney said.

After her words everyone turned their attention towards you and your twin.

Everyone could see that was an emotional exchange, they couldn’t imagine how you guys felt.

Finally, Leah and you separated and you greeted everyone.

After greeting everyone Leah hugged you again “I’ve missed you so much sis”

“I missed you too Lee, there’s so much that I need to tell you. There might be someone special in Barcelona” you whispered.

You guys separated and she smiled at you before she could talk Rachel’s voice interrupted her.

“Oi! y/nn what are they feeding you with in Barcelona. You have more muscles than you did before and only in a period of two months!”

After hearing that you couldn’t help but to laugh.

You couldn’t wait to play to play again with your sister. After all you guys are The Wonder Twins.

AITA for disapproving of my best friend's relationship? (CW for grooming)

Context: about a year ago I (17, transmasc) joined a local group for queer teenagers to hang out and do stuff together (we meet once a week at the library). The group consists of roughly 10 people and I usually get along with all of them, but my closest friend in the group is W (20, transfem). I would say she's my best friend in general, and I think she'd say the same for me. I'm still in high school and W goes to the community college here.

A few weeks ago, myself, W, and another friend from the group, J (18, cis guy) were over at my place. After a while W said she had some news for us - she'd gotten into a relationship! W used to be (and still is) very socially isolated. She didn't have any friends to speak of before joining the group, not even online, so for her to find a romantic partner was super exciting and I was honestly really proud of her. I obviously wanted to hear more about it, so I asked her to elaborate and this is where things go off the rails.

She said that her new girlfriend (let's call her L) was also trans, and that she was 27. She said they'd met in college and started spending more and more time together. She told us she'd honestly just expected to be friends, but over the winter break L officially asked her out, she was elated, and since then they'd been spending basically all their free time together. immediately alarm bells started ringing in my head - I asked her if I'd heard it right, that L is 27, and W responded yeah, and she knows it's a little strange, but she doesn't mind, so whatever.

I tried to calmly tell her that a 7 year age gap is way too much and that it's not a safe relationship to be in. She immediately got defensive, saying she's an adult and she can do what she wants, etc etc. I said I don't care if she's technically an adult, that's still fucking creepy! I asked J, who had been keeping quiet the whole time, to back me up, but all he did was give me that "I don't know, it's not my place to say anything" bullshit. I was genuinely shocked, I thought he would have supported me but he just… waffled. We had all gotten pretty heated, and at this point W had stood up and started shuffling over to the door. She started in saying I was overreacting over nothing, that they'd been together for not even two weeks, and she didn't need my permission to have this relationship. She said she thought she could trust me, she only told me because she thought I'd be happy for her, on and on, and then she walked out.

It's been a few weeks since then, and she hasn't shown up to the group at the library. I've been too scared to text her because she's clearly pissed off at me. I recognize that I wasn't very good at keeping my composure, and I definitely could have been kinder about it, but I was just scared for my friend. It would be worrying if anyone had gotten into a relationship with that much of an age gap - but she has essentially 0 social skills, and hasn't been in a relationship before, so I'm terrified that she's being taken advantage of because of her inexperience.

I'm really curious about what you think schooling would look like in a Solarpunk world/future!

Because the current public school system is broken af and the homeschool system isn't much better. I personally have looked into things like Sudbury schools and found good things and also issues. I've always been a proponent of the IDEA of Unschooling (which I understand to be, letting the child learn naturally through the world around them, learn reading through reading to them or teaching math and even basic chemistry through teaching them to cook, etc) but it seems like most parents use it as an excuse to not educate their kids...

I really think kids should learn practical things alongside the Academic stuff (three Rs, science, etc) but no system seems right...

Oooh boy! Have I thought about this one endlessly!

So background info that I have to frame where I'm coming from-

A- the current system is built for school>> factory worker pipeline

B) it also evolved from ppl working at factories and needing to put their kiddos somewhere while they worked their 9-5! Thus Sunday school evolved from something to teach basic literacy to a full time job for children (it's legit nearly 40 hour weeks for CHILDREN) so there's a lot of padded time to ensure they meet that quota

C) it's used of a massive scale it was NOT designed to be used at

Soooo!! Let's imagine a better one!

Personally, based on children's development I think schooling should be broken up into focused chunks and then obvi each kiddo should be able to work at their own pace within these chunks of time.

0-6 Motor and sensory skills- introduced to music/shapes/building, "helping" with community chores (laundry/windows/dishes/sweeping), basics of plants/gardens, learning about transportation and basic navigation.

7-10 Written- literacy (reading/printing/telling time/storytelling/etc), health (emotional+physical), basic cooking + tool usage, basics of history/geography, basics of all sciences, gardening more independently

11-13 social + advanced work -- advanced history/science/literacy/home eco/etc.. start working within the community in a vollunteer capacity, Starting to specialize in interests, focuses in philosophy/analysis/debate,

14-20 community and citizenship --greated focus in Philosophy/debate/analysis in addition to apprenticeships of testing out what they'd like to do with their lives

20+ whatever they wanna do! Personally I think our adulthood should start over from 0 here. Bc after you hit 20 your a baby adult, but like a 35yr old is nearly a teenager as should be treated as such! Finding themselves, building community, getting the swing of all that jazz.

Then the WAY this is taught would be with ppl close to the kiddos, neighbors and parents and community leaders would be in charge of these chunks. Much more like a tutor or professor style where each teacher specializes in both the thing their teaching but also the kiddos their raising.

A tennis competition is being held in a community, and both men and women can participate. Of course, this competition does not differentiate between divisions based on gender. And there are just enough players to register to compete in the round of 16 matches.

Jungwoo is a future tennis star. He came to participate in this community competition because his coach wanted him to participate in these small competitions to gain experience before officially participating in big competitions. The audience at the scene all thought that Jungwoo must win this championship. Although it is a community competition, many good players are still participating.

This competition is played in best-of-five-set, the one who gets 3 wins first wins. Although Jungwoo received professional training, he also went through several hard battles before reaching the finals. The scores between him and his opponents are very close, and almost every game needs to be played for 5 games. He reached the finals with great difficulty. On the contrary, his opponent in the final easily reached the final. Jungwoo looked at the schedule of the finals and found that his opponent was a girl named Sinb, and she defeated her opponent in 3 games in each game.

He was surprised and his coach didn't have any information on her. Jungwoo must win this competition, which will make his coach trust him more and allow him to participate in more large-scale competitions. Therefore, he would always keep himself from losing in this small competition, and to an unknown person. So, there is no turning back for him. He must win this final to meet his coach's expectations.

Unfortunately, although Jungwoo tried his best to fight against Sinb with all his skills, Sinb seemed to neutralize all his attacks easily. There is no doubt that Jungwoo was easily defeated 3-0 by SInb.

He didn't expect that he would lose to an unknown person, and be defeated super easily. Although he was disappointed, Jungwoo still had to shake hands with Sinb in a gentlemanly manner. “It’s a nice game, Sinb.”

He held out his hand, waiting for her response, but Sinb sneered, ignored his hand, and shook the referee's hand. “What a boring game!” Sinb's ignorance and contempt made Jungwoo very angry. When the award was presented, she only had a fake smile on her face and no genuine smile at all. This made him piss off even more. Jungwoo worked hard for so long, but it was a shame to be easily defeated by an unknown person.

The coach was disappointed with his performance. He kept pointing out many of his mistakes in the lounge, but because Jungwoo had just lost the game, he couldn't listen to the coach at all. He was very angry and walked out of the lounge. He went to the bathroom and washed his face to calm down. He was really angry thinking about the match he just played. It didn't matter if he lost. But when he thought about Sinb's contemptuous expression, he became more and more angry.

SYSTEM OVERVIEW: Forged in the Dark (FitD).

I’m taking a break from my regular recommendation posts this week to talk about a few different indie ttrpg systems that have gained a lot of traction over the past few years - how they work, why I like them, and what kinds of games there are out there that use them!

I don’t think it’s a secret that I’m a big fan of Forged in the Dark games. I’ve sung the praises of games like Brinkwood, Slugblaster and The Wildsea time and time again, and I’m even designing my own FitD hack! So let’s talk about what makes this system tick.

The Action Roll

The core mechanic of Forged in the Dark games is the Action Roll. To do most things in these games, the player will have to assemble a small pool of d6s. These dice may come from skills, special abilities, inventory - it depends on the game, but you’ll usually have somewhere between 0 and 4d6 to roll.

When you roll, you look for the single highest dice (or multiple highest, if you manage to get two 6s). If your best result is a 1-3, you’re not going to get what you want. If your best result is a 4/5, you’ll probably get a success with a cost - whether that be harm, only part of what you want, or more trouble down the road. If you get a single 6, you do it - and if you get multiple 6s, you do it well!

What I like about this is that it’s easy to tell at a glance how well you do, and that the dice used for this system are the most accessible dice on the market. Not only that, the possibilities of a 4/5 are quite broad - you could have a consequence that is physical harm to the character, but you could also embarrass them, break their stuff, or just hint at bad things to come!

But Mint, how do you roll 0d6? Well, in particularly difficult scenarios, the player will roll 2d6 and take the lowest number instead. This originates from the progenitor of Forged in the Dark games, Blades in the Dark, which is meant to be particularly difficult and punishing.

Position & Effect

Another core mechanic of FitD games is Position & Effect. These are narrative tools that help the GM communicate to the players how dangerous the proposed plan of action is, as well as how likely the characters are to succeed.

Position is going to be Controlled, Risky or Desperate, indicating how much danger the characters are in, but also the stakes of failure. Failing a Controlled roll means you’re probably going to get out of there with minimal harm, or possibly a chance to try again. Failing a Desperate roll means that shit is going to hit the fan, and you’re going to be caught up in all of it. Risky rolls are somewhere in the middle, and considered the "standard" difficulty.

Effect is a metric for how successful your character is going to be. Picking a lock might not be dangerous, but if your character isn’t a thief and doesn’t have any lock-picks, they might not be very effective! Players can alter the effectiveness of their actions by changing how they go about solving a problem, using the gear they have on hand, or agreeing to approach the problem from a more desperate Position.

What I like about this is that Position & Effect encourage conversation and agency between the GM and the players. The players have final say over what they do, but the GM is able to communicate why they feel certain approaches may be more or less effective. The story is generative, and the way the rolls are adjudicated allow all of the parties to contribute to what happens next.

The Resistance Roll

Related to this conversation about agency is the Resistance Roll. If a player doesn’t like the consequence that the GM hands out, they can choose to Resist the consequences. They usually do this by rolling a certain number of resistance dice, and spending a player resource called Stress. (Other games use other names.) Depending on the consequence, the player might resist it outright or reduce the severity, but spend too much stress and you run into different kinds of consequences - whether that be Trauma (Blades), Trouble at Home (Slugblaster) or something unlucky (Antiquarian Adventures). Stress can be managed during a phase typically called Downtime, through various activities dependant on the setting.

I like this mechanic not just because it gives players agency, but also because of the Stress track tied to it. This is a player resource but it can also be a track pointing a change in the character, a chance to build in narrative themes, or a reason to role-play certain narrative effects. Many different FitD games use Stress in a number of unique ways, and I think tweaking this element can do a lot to determine the tone of the game.

Crew Sheets

This leads to the next bit of Forged in the Dark games that I really like - Crew Sheets. Similar to a number of other narrative games, FitD has character playbooks (which are kind of like character classes in D&D, but also are a carryover from PbtA games - I’ll talk about them more in the PbtA post), but Forged in the Dark games also have a uniting theme that gives your players a reason to work together.

In Neon Black, this is your local community, which both takes care of you and asks you for favours. In Moth-Light, this is your Pact, which determines not just your group’s goal, but also the tone and themes of your story. In Brinkwood, this is your Rebellion and the Faerie patron who is taking care of you - but it’s also the Mask playbooks that all of the players share, with special magical powers that help you fight Vampires.

Modular Systems

There are bits and pieces that also exist in FitD games that help define the experience. Clocks, for example, are abstract representations of looming consequences or player goals, and allow you to work towards a big pay-off over time. Factions can represent a changing social landscape, with friends and foes that you can turn to for help or strike out against in order to gain ground. Harm can alter how many dice you roll, or how effective you are when acting. These are interlocking pieces, but they’re not necessarily required.

Most of what I’ve covered in this post is not strictly necessary for a Forged in the Dark game. The Wildsea doesn’t use Stress or pre-set playbooks. Protect the Child doesn’t use Trauma. Scum & Villainy adds a Gambit mechanic that gives you extra ways to earn dice. Slugblaster changes how you Resist consequences, and External Containment Bureau moves the Clock mechanic to the front and centre, while doing away with Factions pretty much altogether. All of these games have enough pieces to be considered Forged in the Dark, but the play experience is very different, and each mod included, altered or dropped are usually choices that support the genre or tone of the game.

I’ve talked about a number of Forged in the Dark games in the past, but here’s a few more that I’ve got my eyes on.

Dusk Academy, by Skullery Maids, is a game about a private school for teaching magic to girls.

CRASH/CART, by Galen Pejeau, is a game about paramedics in a near-future California.

a|state, by Handiwork Games, is a game set in a strange and Dickensian city.

Girl By Moonlight, by Evil Hat, is a game about magical girls, mech pilots, and other larger-than-life characters.

Time lords can be used to determine which planets will hold relevance in the transits for that year and can be used to determine the specific themes that will come into play in connection to the area of focus brought on by the profection year.

THE SIGNFICANCE OF TIME LORDS

1st House (Age; 0, 12, 24, 36, 48, 60, 72, 84, 96) - Any planets placed within the natal first house or making aspects will become activated during this year. This is a year to be selfish! Don’t be afraid to make it all about yourself. Personal image has reached transformation. There is going to be a heavy focus on physical appearance, people going through their first house profection year may revamp their style to better suit their evolved identity. A lot of significant events will play out during this year.

2nd House (Age; 1, 13, 25, 37, 49, 61, 73, 85, 97) - This year, a newly developed style and taste will be refined. Finances come into focus. A desire for material items and goods will be amplified, not having enough money to gain said things will bring about great insecurity. But, if there is enough money, this will amplify confidence. Personal values will undergo some changes, you will figure out what really matters during this year. This is a good year to go after promotions or a raise in income.

3rd House (Age; 2, 14, 26, 38, 50, 62, 74, 86, 98) - If you’ve been itching to learn something new, this is a great year to start! This is a great time to work on communication skills. People going through their third house profection year may become more connected to the community and neighborhood that they live in. Making time for short trips and fun excursions is a great idea. You’re more likely to become friends and have friendly interactions with neighbors during this time. Mercury retrograde is going to have a heavier impact on those going through their third profection year compared to other people. Start journaling!

4th House (Age; 3, 15, 27, 39, 51, 63, 75, 87, 99) - During this year, people become more connected to their family and roots. Exploring ancestry and putting a focus on inner child work is a must. You might move residences or purchase a home. Those going through their fourth house profection year are searching for a sense of comfort, and figuring out what the best ways in which to take care of themselves. People will retreat during this year in order to face trauma.

5th House (Age; 4, 16, 28, 40, 52, 64, 76, 88) - This is a year of romance! A somewhat idyllic perspective on life will take over, invigorating a creative spark. There is a focus on pleasure during this time and people going through their fifth house profection year are encouraged to chase after whatever brings them joy. You may discover new hobbies or start pursuing artistic endeavors. Relationships with others should feel light and breezy, and entering an important partnership is likely.

6th House (Age; 5, 17, 29, 41, 53, 65, 77, 89) - People will develop and transform their routines during this year. There is a focus on health and on the body. Implementing a new exercise routine or better suited diet is a great idea. Daily life is going to start to look different as a new structure is enforced. The sixth house profection year is going to bring about a lot of work, you may find yourself stuck at your job. This is a good year to adopt a new pet, make sure to find time to relax.

7th House (Age; 6, 18, 30, 42, 54, 66, 78, 90) - Partnerships and relationships with others are going to deepen during this year. Marriage and the idea of starting a life with someone and what that should look like will be brought into focus. Changes in your attachments to others are going to occur. Commitments will be made during this year, in the form of contracts and deals. This is a great time to start developing long term plans. It is time to start thinking about a new stage of life to start looking at what you have to offer.

8th House (Age; 7, 19, 31, 43, 55, 67, 79) - Some sort of rebirth has occurred, but this is usually a painful process. New surroundings and perspectives bring about a sense of fear. A lot of growth and change is encountered during this year. Power dynamics come into focus. Those going through their eighth house perfection year are asked to surrender aspects of themselves. A connection with the subconscious will be deepened. Emotions will be intensified to the extreme. You will come face to face with forgotten traumas thought to have already been healed.

9th House (Age; 8, 20, 32, 44, 56, 68, 80) - Making long distance journeys and expanding your perspective is encouraged for this year. You may start to take on new philosophies and start to further your education. Deep discussions are going to transform your worldview. Those going through their ninth house profection year have a focus on developing their personal wisdom. Spirituality, faith, and personal connection to religion will also be developed and transformed.

10th House (Age; 9, 21, 33, 45, 57, 69, 81) - Major career decisions will be made during this year. There is a focus on public identity. Finding purpose within the world is of the upmost importance. The changes made during this year will have a direct impact on your direction in life. Those going through their tenth house profection year are going to find their calling and should notice a spike in popularity.

11th House (Age; 10, 22, 34, 46, 58, 70, 82) - People going through their eleventh house profection year need to start networking and need to learn how to present themselves. This is a year in which you should be putting focus on friends. Becoming a part of some sort of group or organization is a good idea. Those closest to you will start to step up and will make their love known. Collaborative efforts will result in success. Go after your dreams, but don’t be afraid to ask for help along the way!

12th House (Age; 11, 23, 35, 47, 59, 71, 83) - People within their twelfth house profection year are faced with isolation. They must hide themselves away in order to rediscover aspects long forgotten. Secrets will unfold, and coming face to face with painful memories from the past is to be expected. Starting therapy and focusing on mental health is a good idea. A lot of peace can be found within this solitude if it is handled well. This year presents an opportunity in getting to know oneself on the most intimate level possible.

✨New item!✨ Wings of the Raven Wondrous item, legendary (requires attunement by a cleric or paladin)

This long black cloak is made from raven plumage, and is a gift from the Goddess of Death to her most devout servants.

Sentience. Wings of the Raven is a sentient lawful neutral cloak with an Intelligence of 14, a Wisdom of 16, and a Charisma of 15. It has hearing and darkvision out to a range of 120 feet, and its passive Perception is 18. The cloak communicates telepathically with its wielder and can speak, read, and understand Common, Elvish, Sylvan and Abyssal.

Personality. A fey spirit named Fin Dòmhnallan inhabits the Wings of the Raven. The cloak is protective and inquisitive. It demands that its wielder follow the Goddess of Death's will, and to always take a trinket or memento from the fallen as tribute to her.

Twilight Bond. You have a +1 bonus to AC while wearing this cloak. This bonus increases to +2 when you are in dim light or darkness.

Death Sense. While wearing the cloak, your awareness of life and death is greatly enhanced. While you are within 30 feet of a creature that you can see, you are able to tell if it is healthy (more than half hit points), bloodied (less than half hit points), dying (zero hit points), diseased, dead, undead or neither (such as a construct). This ability cannot be deactivated while wearing this cloak, knowledge of life and death becomes your constant companion.

Corvid Comradery. While wearing this cloak you can communicate with ravens and crows, and you have advantage on Charisma checks to influence them.

Raven Form. As an action while wearing this cloak, you can use your Channel Divinity to shapechange into a giant raven. The transformation lasts until you use a bonus action to return to your normal form, or until you drop to 0 hit points or die. Your statistics are replaced with the statistics of a giant raven, but you retain your alignment, personality, languages, hit points, proficiency bonus and Constitution, Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma scores. You also retain all of your skill and saving throw proficiencies, in addition to gaining those of a giant raven. You can cast any spells that don’t require material components with a cost while in giant raven form. Your equipment merges into your new form and has no effect until you return to your normal form. You still benefit from the cloak’s magical properties while in giant raven form. The giant raven uses the statistics of a giant eagle, but it has darkvision out to 120 feet, resistance to necrotic damage, bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage from nonmagical attacks, and its natural attacks deal an extra 1d8 radiant or necrotic damage (your choice). This extra damage is increased to 2d8 against undead or creatures with less than half of their maximum hit points. If you reduce a creature to 0 hit points while in giant raven form, you can take a bonus action to move up to half your speed and make a melee attack. Additionally, necromantic magic is suppressed within 60 feet of your giant raven form. Undead creatures have disadvantage on saving throws and a creature attempting to cast a spell from the school of necromancy must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw against your spell save DC or the spell fails while within this area.

Those who have proven themselves dedicated to preserving the sanctity of mortality are blessed with dark insight and formidable might. The Goddess of Death calls upon her champion to hunt necromancers and their abhorrent, death-defying spawn.
