Just to throw in a couple points real quick (because I can never keep an opinion to myself 😔 sorry), I personally kind of dislike the idea of a male and female gaze — not because I disagree with the concept of fetishism and objectification existing, they ABSOLUTELY do, but because of what people, particularly online, have come to accept they mean.
There has recently been discourse surrounding Love Lies Bleeding, a film created almost solely by queer women, “catering to the male gaze” which… I’m sure I don’t need to explain how silly that is lmao. I think this new wave of leftists clutching their pearls over literally any sign of sexual attraction and considering it to be synonymous with objectification has distorted people’s views of what these terms actually mean and have resulted in their gross misuse. Not to make this about me 💅🏻 but I see a lot of this similar discourse about trans people BY CIS PEOPLE whom are trying to be good allies by basically claiming that any sign of sexual attraction towards a trans person’s body is inherently fetishistic which I can’t lie… I kind of consider to be transphobic itself lol? You’re allowed to be sexually attracted to trans people and express that, no matter how their bodies look! The point at which it becomes fetishistic relies primarily on the WAY you express that and the language used — and I think that can apply to queer people in general too. I personally (and others may feel differently!) have zero issue with cis people enjoying trans NSFW content, and I also have no problem with straight women enjoying MLM content; because most of the time, I can tell from the LANGUAGE they use whether or not they are fetishising.
Point being, fetishism and objectification can go ALL ways and I don’t think people need to give excuses as to why they enjoy a certain type of content as long as it isn’t actively harming anyone. But I obviously can’t speak for everyone (especially queer women, I only identified as one for a year or two when I was a preteen lol) and people’s experiences tend to shape their opinions on these things 😅
Right and that's why I firmly stand behind my initial post about how it's no one's job to police people for what kind of content they consume! Because we don't know their motivations for how ot why they personally are interacting/consuming the work. It's incredibly easy to write off all enjoyment of a specific brand of content as fetishizing or sexualization when in reality, for the consumer it isn't that at all. My only point on the last ask was that sometimes, sometimes, it's easy to actually be doing exactly that (fetishizing etc) and not realizing it.
Intentions matter absolutely, but they're not the be-all-end-all of reality. It's like if I as a white person were to say something racist without realizing it was racist. That doesn't negate the racism, and it doesn't absolve me of my culpability, because my ignorance to my actions doesn't supercede my impact. You can be guilty of something without knowing that you are, and that's something you as person have to evaluate and confront on a personal basis. That was my only point in relation to what that anon said.
Again to reiterate, that is NOT saying that everyone who prefers queer work to straight work is guilty of that, because they're not. Full stop. And that alone is why I don't think anyone has or should have the authority to pass judgment on who can and can't consume certain kinds of media. Because, like you said, then you start wading into the murky waters of painting everyone with a broad brush, throwing accusations around that are universally damning despite not actually being universally true. And considering we're living in a period where puritan anti-sex brainrot is on the rise (alongside a deeply unsettling culture of condemnation over every little thing), opening that door can become very dangerous very fast. We're seeing it already.
I will tack on just as a thought regarding the trans character issue, I think that's kind of a perfect example of all these ideas aligning. Just in the most bare bones way of putting it: there is nothing inherently fetishizing about a cis person enjoying work including trans characters. There's nothing inherently fetishizing about a cis person enjoying, specifically, smut involving trans characters. There is nothing inherently fetishizing about a cis person preferring trans character stories over other kinds of media. However, if all they as a cis person consume is extremely sexualized renditions of trans characters, if their only interest in trans characters is porn - generally mostly devoid of complex storylines that create a fully rounded character -, then yeah I do think that's something they on an individual basis need to evaluate about themselves, because it's the difference between having a sexual attraction to a subsection of people versus seeing those same people as purely sexual objects. Does that make sense?
Same can be true for any other queer content being consumed by people that aren't historically the target audience.
But again, it's not really anyone else's place to make that call for anyone else.

Here he is!! Bel and his ssssssssssstand, Gilded Cobra
info under the cut! (a few more things have been edited and added!)
About Beleza Muscadine (Bel)
Bel and Vanilla used to be Dio's two main minions. They were both his second in command. However, Dio favored Bel over Vanilla because xe was more attentive, charismatic, and had a knack for persuading the other servants around him to do things. Vanilla was always very jealous of the attention Dio would give to Bel, so he would do whatever he could to gain his master's attention. Bel knew this and relished in Vanilla's misery. They would make snide comments to each other and argue constantly. The other servants remarked on how they acted like snarky teenagers when they were both around each other.
Bel is conceited, sassy, prissy, intelligent, charming, persuasive, competitive, thrives on being popular and well liked by others, xe's vain and has to be the most attractive person in the room at all times. He's actually a pretty good friend, if somebody is making you upset, he'll make them cry just by using his words alone. They are very interested in art, fashion, jewelry, architecture, and animal science. They've been a bit jealous that Vanilla is very talented when it comes to making clothes and jewelry. He's learned a few things by sneaking around and watching how Vanilla makes things. Bel can design his own jewelry and clothing, but mostly has to have somebody else make them. Xe is also a very talented artist and loves to paint and sculpt! Bel may be pretty self centered, but xe recognizes talent and beauty when xe sees it, and xe won't hesitate to tell you. He'll either fill you up with confidence and compliments or trash you like yesterday's pizza box.
Height: 6'2 (yes, he hates the fact Vanilla is a few inches taller than him pffff-)
Sexuality: Gay (mlm)
Gender: Salmacian and trans masculine genderqueer. Bel was born intersex but unfortunately forced to be raised as a daughter. Xe always felt more masculine, but his parents didn't like that, things got heated, and he ran away. Xe prefers masculine language such as man/guy/dude etc, when referring to xem... (But xe'll take any compliment really. Call them pretty, handsome, gorgeous, cute, anything good!) He also had top surgery, and his scars are faded but I'll draw them just a little visible every now and then. (a bit tmi but they are salmacian due to bargaining with somebody's gender affirming stand in order to become sex neutral. He personally felt it would give him gender euphoria. He is very euphoric with his gender and body. (I'm projecting a lot of my gender feelings onto this oc. My future gender affirming surgeries will most likely reflect my projection here))
Pronouns: He/They/Xe
Gilded Cobra's powers:
Spit Venom: Fangs can shoot or inject venom that can paralyze his victims
Snake Charm: Can stare into their victim's eyes and whisper things to them, they will obey him for 60 seconds
Strangle: (self explanatory but anyway) They wrap around their victim and squeeze them to death
Serpent Trance: Xis scales are so beautiful that you might get hypnotized and put in a temporary catatonic state if you look at this stand for too long

CW for mentions of sexualisation and toxic relationships
I'm going insane.
Literally I am so damn done with seeing the: "uwu he's so gay and in love with this character it's so canon!!" bs about my f/o.
I'm queer myself, so this is no hate towards that! I even headcanon my f/o as bi, but it just makes me so annoyed to see everyone erase his attraction to women when in the movie he has not only one, but two girlfriends.
And the way everyone feminise him too?? "He's soooo girlypop!", "he is gay because he dresses like this" - SHUT UP. SHUT. UP.
I'm the same with w&m ships, if it's toxic, kr if it doesn't make sense, why bother??
But it's even worse when its my f/o.
I literally wanna scream everytime people say "he doesn't like women", "he shouldn't be with a woman" or even go as far as headcanoning that he hates women??
Wtf is wrong with you?
And then they go and ship him with the most toxic and manipulative man EVER.
And the fans are just horribly toxic. Glorifying abusive relationship and then being rude to people that doesn't ship it.
I legit feel uncomfortable saying which ship I'm talking about because non-shippers revecive ridiculously amount of hate.
I'm not much to talk ig since I self ship with him and change the "canon storyline" but at least I don't change his entire personality and approach, and even appearance??
The fanart is just pure fetishism of mlm. As a wlw person it's just as annoying to see people sexualise same-sex relationship, no matter what gender/sexuality the characters have.
If it was a man x woman ship and people drew that kind of stuff, people would rage, because the toxicity that is presented in the fanart is just sickening.
I'm sorry if this subject is too much, but I'm just so pissed. I've filtered out the ship tags but still see content, and even on regular posts/picture of my f/o, people mention THAT ONE character etc.
He's my f/o and he deserves sm better than being with the character people ship him with. He deserves love and appreciation and to not get sexualised every 5 minute.
Just stop!

The Women Love Women Phobia in Otome games and fandom
You ever find yourself reading a summary for an otome game that you either can’t get overseas or are looking to see if you’re interested in buying said game? Does this particular game have a route where the MC can date another girl? If it happens to have one, then you might see opinions on said summaries saying “I wish it was a best friend/platonic route”, and that’s if you’re lucky to not find a game summary that doesn’t skip the wlw route entirely.
This has thankfully died down, but in the early to mid 2010’s, you’d usually see these opinions floating around, especially when it came to console otome games. Now, there are some otome game fans who don’t like wlw romance in their games (or lgbt+ romance it seems), which isn’t inherently bad, but it’s still weird how they go out of their way to say they don’t like wlw routes in otome games and wish they were platonic routes instead…which is essentially a variation of people who don’t like lgbt+ romances saying “Why can’t they stay platonic? Not everything has to be romance”. But it’s even worse when otome game fans say this rhetoric because they’re playing a ROMANCE GAME!
There is also a double standard at play since some players don’t like wlw routes…yet are fine with incest (“as long as they’re not blood-related” or whatever bs), teacher x student romances, concerning age gaps, etc, simply because they find the male love interest attractive.
There are also players who are not attracted to women, so they don’t play wlw routes…But even that doesn’t hold much water considering that you don’t need to find someone physically attractive in order to enjoy a romance, which now makes me concerned how adult players view high school love interests if they’re basing likability off of attractiveness…
This wlw phobia is also in a few otome games themselves. One example that comes to mind is Gekka Ryouran Romance, where they have a girl as a love interest since all of their routes have a forbidden romance theme…even though same sex relationships aren’t and will never be forbidden. (Oh boy, can you tell this game was made by Rejet?) Hamefura, All Routes Lead To Doom is a harem isekai anime set in an otome game where the original MC and two female friends explicitly fall in love with the protagonist, Catarina. When it got adapted into an otome game by Otomate, they not only have no routes, but any romantic attraction they had for Catarina was written out of the story. The game came out in 2022…
However, there are otome games with genuinely good wlw routes, especially in mobile otome. My awesome mutual, @lolotheparagon, has played these mobile games and has more knowledge on them then I do, but from what I’ve seen, they’re pretty well written and are given the same attention and good writing as other male routes. Some of them have marriage ends, so the ladies are winning in that department!
Validate is a recent game that not only has a ton of lgbt+ romance, but has very good POC and plus size rep. There’s also an obcure otome game called IDEA Sensen Fukoku Hen, which not only has two wlw routes and I believe a nonbinary route, but the two male love interests have the option to date each other, which is something I haven’t seen in an otome game AT ALL. Although, considering how the company writes mlm relationships, I’m a little afraid about how good the lgbt+ rep in IDEA is.
If anyone has any wlw routes they’d like to share, or just thoughts about wlw routes in otome games in general, then feel free to add to this post.

As a teenager, I watched a lot of adult films to try to understand my sexuality. I felt attracted to other girls and women in real life, but I really didn't enjoy lesbian porn. My male friends all LOVED it and talked about it constantly, but I thought I mustn't be as queer as I thought I was because I kinda hated it.
Then at 20, my girlfriend showed me actual, authentic lesbian and pan-produced adult films and it was like night and day. I realized that the problem was that I couldn't enjoy the performative lesbianism of adult films which are almost exclusively produced for the male gaze. (Impossibly thin, huge breasts, hairless, white, hyper-feminine, 2-inch long acrylic nails, etc.) But give me the real, sex-positive, gender-divergent, unapologetically queer stuff with and I'm over the freaking moon.
All that to say, that's why I know most non-canon mlm content is pure fetishization. They (typically straight women) just take two sexy (typically straight) white guys and smash them together like naked Ken dolls. Again, the sexual relationship between the two impossibly attractive same-sex characters is performative; ie. created entirely for the enjoyment of the consumer. It's the porn equivalent of McDonalds.
My male friends didn't support actual lesbians or even enjoy watching actual lesbian sex - they just liked watching two beautiful, straight white girls faking orgasms for the camera. Twice the boobies with no man in the picture to make them feel inferior. How are those men they any different than mlm fetishists who just want two beautiful, straight white guys to bang for their own gratification?
Hint: There is no difference.
Omg exactly!! I was going to bring this topic up yesterday because straight cismen have been fetishising lesbians for years and straight ciswomen have been fetishising gay men, however there isn’t as much exposure on straight women’s fetishisation of gay men because 1) the porn industry predominantly caters to men over women and 2) women have been fetishising gay men in fanfiction which they usually share between each other and it doesn’t get much exposure outside of that.
So both are definitely just as bad because it’s fetishisation at the end of the day, there’s no difference.

Trope Game
Oooh thanks for the tag @mentallyinvernation!
Gonna go on and do this before it falls out of my squirrel brain lol. I'll go in for most any fic regardless of trope if it sounds interesting and fits the mood I'm in honestly, but I reckon there are some I prefer over others 🤔
Rules: How much do these tropes affect your decision to click on a fic?
-10 -> very dissuaded
0 - don't care either way
+10 -> very enticed
nope -> if it's a hard no and you'd never click on a fic with that tag or or you even have the tag blocked or you'd insta click out of the fic if it wasn't tagged
Bonus points for explaining the rating and whether it's conditional.
Age gap: +2-3
Depends on the fic, but I've gotten sold on it in the Dreamling and Witcher fandoms by nature of the canonical ages of characters. In human au's though, if it ever involves an age gap with a minor that's a straight-up nope for me
Codependency: 0
It's not gonna turn me off from a fic cuz I don't mind a lil bit of that seasoning in my fic but I've got personal history with those dynamics so gotta be in the right mood for it and not gonna go looking for it
Obsession/Possessiveness, jealousy: +50
BRUH in my fic I am pure *grabby hands* for this shit!! They can't get enough of each other? Brilliant. They'll never give up looking/waiting for the other? Ded! You dare look at/come onto their partner?! Perfection!
Opposites (grumpy/sunshine etc): +♾️
something something opposites attract something! Legit, the whole world looking at them like "these two shouldn't go together" but they make each other the absolute happiest?!
Better bring a mop and bucket cuz I'm a fucking puddle on the floor
Enemies to lovers, Enemies with benefits: +1000
Peak, superb, amazing! No notes
Friends with benefits: +3
Nothing I seek out pointedly, but pair this up with Fake dating/relationship and +100 Delicious!
Sex to feelings: -2
It's fine, I won't NOT read something with this trope but it can take me out of the story a bit cuz it usually reads contrived to me/hits like 'fake news'. Heyo cynicism 😅
BUT if there's legit ANY kind of pre-sex tension between them and it's not just like "cold"/"random"/"no reason" sex to feelings, that's a solid +5. The sex just acts as the cincher to the awakening
Fake dating/relationship: +100
*shoves this trope into my mouth* bruh, like bruhhh! guhhhh some much juicy angst potential I legit can not get enough of!! especially when paired with some other choice tropes? An absolute delight~
Friends to lovers: +5
Depends on the friendship dynamic but usually solid stuff.
Found Family: +10
Finding your people is always a good time
Hurt/Comfort: +10000000
BEAUTIFUL AGONY! Bitter before the sweet! I will never get tired of this shiz
Love Triangle: 0
Not gonna seek it out, not gonna write it off, but to gotta echo @mentallyinvernation on this one:
However, if it's a love triangle that turns poly, I fucking love that shit. Especially if they're all being idiots about it.
Gonna be a solid +10 from me then~
Poly, open relationships: +20
Alright so, amongst others, We Meet Again by round_robin (Witcher) and Beautiful, Strange, and New by @moorishflower (Dreamling) absolutely solidified my undying LOVE of this trope! Just hngggggggg so much love to go around~
Mistaken/hidden identity: +8
Bring on the intrigue!! Def can depend on the setting and context, but usually I'm fully here for this one
Monsterfucking: +♾️
Honestly have yet to come across one of these that I've not been here for
Pregnancy: 0/nope.
SOOOO this one is like playing russian roulette for me on if it hits squick, trigger, or oh yeah...
Give me Improbable Reality (aka can-only-happen-in-fiction, omegaverse, metaphysical/dream) MLM pregnancy as a trope? We're good! Anything remotely close to probable reality? nope nope nope, especially transmasc pregnancy or anything using the w-word that rhymes with "tomb" >.< brains are great >.<
BUT mysterious/magical/accidental baby acquisition can be a hella entertaining trope
Second Chance: +5
I do love me a solid redemption arc
Slowburn: +1000
AHAHAHA MAKE ME SUFFER THE WAIT!!! all that building anticipation and tension? yeah, that's that good stuff
Soulmates: +10
Ooof yes I am a sucker for soulmate au's BUT not all of them are it for me. I'll def be inclined to give a fic a lookie see though if it has this tag~
Hmmmm who to no-pressure tag... @spockandthings @thranduilland @phinofthestorm @beauty-of-nyx @serenailith @lostelfwriting @arialerendeair @landwriter @delta-pavonis @aquabluejay @amielot @teejaystumbles @moorishflower

TW: Talks of Chasing, fetishizing, defining those terms
Putting it out there for those who don't know how this works and are worried. This is a post for every trans person ever worried their sexual attraction was harmful and 'fetishizing', for every queer person concerned their track record of just happening to fall in love with x-identity kind of partner is 'chasing'. I don't usually talk about this kind of thing but I feel it's important as we move into less trans friendly times and times where puritanism is on the rise again.
What a chaser is: A gross person who near harrasses someone to be with them sexually because they have a certain quality and highlights that in a harmful, creepy way
What sexuality is: being attracted to someone sexually based on their gender, sex, orientation, or other identifier. Other factors such as looks, personality, etc, may factor in
Being a CHASER and being sexually ATTRACTED to someone are not the same thing. Chasing is harmful, and only has sexual gratification of the other person in mind. Sexual attraction is literally normal.
What fetishizing is: to consider someone important, interesting, or attractive to an unreasonable degree for a sexual reason in particular, leading to higher, impossible to reach standards standards and creepy behavior towards that someone
What having a fetish is: a form of sexual desire in which gratification is strongly linked to a particular object or activity or a part of the body other than the sexual organs
FETISHIZING someone/something and having a FETISH are two different things. Fetishizing someone is harmful because it expects them to act the way they do in your sexual fantasies without permission or consent; having a fetish in general is just a sexual interest that does not harm others if handled correctly.
The danger with both of these - fetishizing and chasing - is that they both revolve around making other people act the way you want for your sexual fantasies WITHOUT their permission. Some people may consent to the act of being fetishized but that is consented to by two adults of legal age who have the ability to do so.
Case in point:
You are not a chaser because you are T4T or MLM or WLW. You don't fetishize others if you're just naturally attracted sexually to queer people.
As long as that attraction stays safe, does not harm anyone without consent and treats the other person like a human being with the right to walk away at any time?
You're good. I promise you, you're good. We need to reset the terms "fetishize" and "chaser" to mean specifically those who violate boundaries, NOT those who have attraction in general.
Sex is not a dirty word. Attraction is not a dirty word. TRANS sex is not dirty or gross. TRANS attraction is not dirty or gross.
It's just normal, my friends. Your love is wonderful and amazing and sexy, and you should be able to have that attraction without any guilt. So go forth and know that if you're not being an absolute creep, you're good!

Hi.....Do you mind if I ask you some random thing? I used to love shounen and shoujo manga equally....But ever since I found BL manga 3 years ago, my interest in shoujosei (especially het romance) decrese a lot, and what I search for is just the dynamic between mc (male) and male lead...I don't want to read mc (female) and male lead or mc (male) and female lead...And what I want to read mostly are just mlm or wlw stories....
What do you think is happening to me? Is it really weird?
Hi there, anon!
I don't mind at all ^^. And let me tell you, this is exactly what happened to me back when I was a wee 15-16 yo or so, many moons ago XD. But then I found out about BL, I started to come to terms with my own queerness, and I never looked back lol.
It's not weird in the slightest, my good fellah, bc for starters, our tastes are not fixed and are constantly changing and evolving, so something we used to like may not be our cup of tea in the future and viceversa. It happens with everything: clothes, music, food, etc.
In the case media, one reason I found is that hetero romances are many, many times just a forced thing that shows/books/whatever add just bc they have to or something. I mean, he was a boy and she was a girl and that's it; no chemistry, no development, no proper bonding... and then they complain that ppl ship the protagonists with their same sex buddies when those two have a much more deep and compelling relationship than the by-the-numbers "romance" with the other lead.
I personally have more of an aesthetic preference for men, so there's also the matter that well, two hot fictional guys getting at it is something I just find more attractive xD. I can totally see that playing for ppl who are more into girls too. Especially given how still in this day and age 90% of most media is straight, so if we get the hetero every freaking time even without asking for it, it's only natural that we would go out of our way to find mlm and wlw. We literally HAVE to bc mainstream is just starting to catch up with the program.
I definitely don't want to assume anything about your situation, anon, but I think it's still worth remarking once more that it is not weird at all, and I fear you may have thought so at some point bc of the current unhinged wave of puritanism and gatekeeping that infuse with the fear of god anyone who is not enjoying something "The Right Way", or doesn't have the proper credentials to like this or that. You don't owe anyone a saying in what you innocently do in your free time or the type of fictional not-real media you consume, much less some rando on the internet, anon.
Go be free and enjoy whatever you feel it's right for you, or just what tickles your fancy; media is for fun and recreation, and I'd say that you should go and have all the fun with this new interests you are developing.
You're cool buddy :D

No but let's discuss the ways in which mlm fetishists endorse this harmful narrative that mlm are inherently misogynistic by treating every female love interest like an obstacle at best and a threat at worst, trashing every female character, claiming to want bi rep but only if the yt guy is with another guy which disrespects bi m/f relationships which are inherently LGBT, etc. B*ddie shippers hate Taylor and Ana for no reason save for they're women, especially Ana who is a woman of color. They ignore all the relationships with women Eddie and Buck have had, like Buck was introduced stealing the fire truck (let's talk about that if we're gonna talk "work ethics") to hook up with a woman. They make the actors, like Oliver, SOOOOOOO uncomfortable by taking everything he says or does out of context to be about Buddie.
Just look at how mlm fetishists attacked the Heartstopper actors for not being ~attractive~ enough for them and for not being a real couple in real life who exist solely to entertain them. Like THIS is what we're talking about when we say mlm fetishization is harmful and disgusting and affects real people and shows their entitlement to mlm dynamics as nothing more than entertainment
People who are bisexual are still apart of the community even if they are with someone of the opposite sex!!!
Remember when shipping was actually fun? When people respected each other's ships even if they didn't personally ship it themselves cause shippers could actually coexist with each other before "ship wars". I truly can not fathom being so obsessed over a ship that you dedicate your time to spreading negativity and hatred about anything not involving your ship and even going as far to sending disgusting comments and death threats to the actors portraying a character "getting in the way of your ship" or writers "for being homophobic" by not making your ship canon. Get a fucking life.
I've seen more than one post saying that Ana is a terrible teacher and shouldn't be allowed around children like what the actual fuck??? Saying that Ana is the cause of Eddies panic attacks like he doesn't have ptsd from his military service or his very dangerous job??? These people are really out here treating Ana and Taylor like they are N*te fucking J*cobs when they are just women purely existing. And yeah Buck was a hot mess season 1 with plenty of flaws but to them "Buck is a precious baby who's never done anything wrong in his life".
And so many actual mlm's are pushed out of these mlm fan bases and made to feel unwelcome because these white fangirls fetishists feel these ships belong to them and them only. Like yeah i thought buddie was a cute ship at first, I enjoyed the little jokes in the show where people assumed they were a couple but the stans as always ruin everything and made it not fun anymore.
I know very little about heartstopper but aren't those actors like actual teenagers?? Maybe these grown adults shouldn't be basing thier opinions about them purely on if they can get themselves off to them or not. That reminds me of the eternals when people were saying Phastos and his husband weren't "real" lgbt representation because they weren't attractive enough.
People who go beyond shipping fictional characters and bring thier delusions to the real people playing these characters need help. The Wynonna Earp fandom was the first good and non toxic fandom I found in a long time but once the s*percorps and the cl*xas migrated to the fandom took it over they starting shipping Dom and Kat in real life and went as far as sending hate to Kats husband it all went to utter shit like every other fandom.

✧ rules & info page …
Tumblr media Tumblr media
this page contains everything you need to know about what I’ll write here — my boundaries, the types of fanfiction, etc. pretty much all you have to read before requesting are the checkmarks and cross-offs. please at least SKIM before requesting!
checkmarks ┆彡
- I can write oneshots, headcanons, imagines, drabbles, thirsts, fluff and smut alphabets, and sometimes matchups
- I only write for female readers, male readers, and gender neutral readers
- I can do smut, fluff, angst, and hurt/comfort
- as far as smut goes, I am able to make the reader gender neutral if wanted but I go with fem + afab readers normally since I don’t have a good grasp of male perspectives because I am not one. however, this may change in the future as I do want to look into it one day
- I accept pretty much all kinds of personality type requests, for example you can ask for readers with a similar personality type as another character (ex: character x fem!reader with a personality like hu tao from genshin impact)
- I can write jealousy headcanons and scenarios
- I can write characters being lovesick, like completely smitten and infatuated with you; this can be part of jealousy headcanons if asked to be. I can also write characters being lovesick for smut purposes, like where they’re yearning and lusting over you in secret like little pervs or they’re just immensely obsessed with the feeling of you and crave more of it
- I can write for polyamorous relationships, for up to 3 characters at a time — but please specify because I write separately as a default
- I am alright with also writing wlw and mlm
- more about thirsts, — they are small requests asking for thoughts on a character having a certain kink — they wont be properly formatted like my other posts. if you want to submit something like this you gotta phrase it like “I’m thinking abt (character) with a __ kink, thoughts?”
- I can do basically any trope — like friends to lovers, enemies to lovers, faking dating turned real, forced proximity, forbidden love, opposites attract, unrequited love, etc.
cross-offs ┆彡
(content warning for disturbing topics!)
- no underage sex! character has to be 18 or older— also, I do not age up characters
- no romanticization of problematic or disturbing topics! such as abuse, sh, sa, disorders, non-con, discrimination, incest, pedophilia etc.
- no kinks or fetishes I am uncomfortable with! like piss, feet, scat, necrophillia, vore, gore, period play, snuff, bestiality, age regression
- no dark content in general!
- no pregnancy topics! such as reaction to being pregnant, giving birth, dealing with pregnancy (but I am fine with writing breeding kinks)
- no specific body types, ethnicities, or races! I want my content to be more inclusive, and I feel as these types of details would not matter or affect the relationships of any character I write for
- no platonic character x readers! I personally find it boring. this basically means all my works are to be seen in a romantic way
- no characters or fandoms that are not on my list! I don’t forget to put characters, so if you don’t see the character you want me to write for, I simply don’t write for them. please don’t ask me to or want to know why
- no OCs! like I said before, I want my content to be more inclusive and I prefer to just be asked if I can give the reader specific personality traits or important details so this is easier for the both of us. HOWEVER, this is an exception with matchup requests
- no yanderes! I’m not that comfortable or familiar enough with that archetype to write characters in that way. also I don’t want to romanticize violent behaviors nor do I like writing gore. like I’ve said before though, I can write characters being lovesick. and yes, there is a difference
- no AUs or crossovers! like yanderes, they’re just not exactly my cup of tea
please do not ask me to do or write any of these things for you. I will automatically ignore any requests that do so
regarding fandoms ┆彡
- I don’t know if I should put danganronpa in the animes or games category… anyway, concerning v3 characters, I won’t write any smut for them since I don’t know their ages, they were technically referred to as teens in game, and I’m not about to waste my time getting into the middle of their age debates
- I am not caught up with the manga of oshi no ko. I have only watched the anime. I may read the manga but till I give the sign, please do not send in requests with any manga spoilers!
- I don’t really read much project sekai lore, I have played it for a long time but I don’t generally read the stories and just know summarized versions. however I do have an overall grasp and understanding of the characters so don’t worry about them being ooc ^^
- I know it’s ironic that I write for yandere simulator but don’t actually wanna write about yanderes… if you want to request ayano, I will only do subtle hints of her yandere behavior. also, I’m fine writing for the gender-bent rivals
extra info ┆彡
- this is not a requirement, but I’d really appreciate if you’d make your request as short, specific, and direct as possible; if it’s long because you are establishing the plot line then by all means go ahead. but please just summarize your request the best you can
- do not send me a bunch of requests at the same time. if you know what you want can all be put in one ask, then do that. otherwise it’s just piling up my inbox and inconveniencing me
- if there’s a lot of different requests you want to send, please send one of them at a time and wait for some time before sending me another so everyone has a chance of sending some too
- if you include random details about the reader make sure it has significance in your request if you also include a scenario or I won’t/can’t really mention it
- don’t ever take it personally if I were to ever turn down your request. you’ll know when I’ve done that when my requests inbox says “0/7” and your request was never posted
- if I ever accidentally make content that erases a characters canon sexuality, please let me know so I can fix it. however, please provide canon sources confirming such things
- this is a strictly ‘x readers’ blog! I don’t write for just ships

Full Volume Manwha
Full Volume is a manwha released on Lezhin Comics and is written by author Albert and illustrated by Eun-ji Yang. This comic is centered around a camboy named Beom who goes by Snow Tiger and a famous author named Coral Snake, or Dowon.
Going into this, I was afraid that it would just be another MLM fetish series that had little to no plot. Sadly, I was not entirely wrong.
We often see in these manwha centered around gay men the use of sexual encounters causing romantic relationships. Rarely is this done right, and most of these R18 focused comics have abusive elements or parts of the story written purely for shock factor or fanservice. Something I noticed about Full Volume (besides the common trope of camboy drama) was that even in the beginnning chapters we see our protagonist - Dowon - painted as someone who is constantly in a horny mindset. This isn't necessarily bad, but a major part of Beom's later attraction to Dowon is because of his passion for nature and analyzing certain parts of travel. This is never fleshed out and we only see the fruits of Dowon's labor in his connections with certain powerful people.
The beginning of Beom & Dowon's relationship is born out of a partially mutual distaste for each other. Beom is incapable of understanding his expressions, as well as others because of his traumatic past and lack of proper social interactions. Dowon is upset about a few incidents involving mail, which leads to many heated encounters. Of course, like any Lezhin comic, they end up having uncomfortably (imo) graphic sex and later start to realize their attraction for each other through certain circumstances (Dowon helps Beom out with some legal issues, Beom's streaming producer is shown to be abusive, etc.). Though Dowon's whole spiel is that he loves Beom no matter what, especially after a somewhat excessive amount of flirting, he often acts as though Beom is with him for purely sexual pleasure. This is fitting for Beom's profession, yes, but I think even an unseasoned manwha reader could tell that Beom is too inexperienced and emotionally constipated to accept such "affections" from Dowon - at least in a healthy way.
This manwha is also one of MANY that has a prominent age gap, and I can't help but feel majorly uncomfortable with how Beom is so clueless about how the world works, and yet Dowon has coaxed him into a sexual relationship. Beom is even shown to have a few concerns about his comfort in his own streaming profession, which Dowon often disregards for the sake of his own pleasure. I understand the demand for smutty manwhas but...come on.
Now, there were some pros to this whole comic. When the rare romantic interaction between Dowon and Beom is written, it is often admirable and enjoyable to read. It's also wonderful to see Beom's passion for certain topics. Beom's past issues and resulting mindset are fairly realistic and show how he was affected by the abuse he endured. I also see that the relationship between Mr. Kwon and Beom is shown as plausible. Yes, it is uncomfortable, but we can see how this manipulation could happen to anyone. My favorite aspect of this whole manwha, though, was the humor that is pleasantly sprinkled into the story. Props to our illustrator for making me chuckle.
My last gripe is that each remotely erotic scene seems to take up so much space per chapter (sometimes even multiple chapters) that the plot becomes difficult to consume. Yes, their sexual encounters are often a major part of their relationship, but their constant intercourse become tiring and starts to dilute one's interest in the slow moving plot. Yes. We get it. You have sex.
Overall, this manwha was pretty enjoyable and isn't nearly as painful to read as Painter of the Night (though, that's not a high bar). I am waiting for new chapters each week and hope that Beom gets the help he needs. I just really wish that it went deeper into the actual relationship between the protagonists rather than each sexual encounter.

Reading update:
Tumblr media
So I always feel bad for the book that comes after a really amazing book like The Watchmaker of Filigree Street, because how can it possibly compare? I’ve started reading a completely different genre to avoid judging the next book too harshly, haha. With that in mind, I read this one, which is a small town, opposites attract mlm romance. It was fine, nothing amazing, but enjoyable enough that I’ll read this author’s other stuff. His writing is a bit clunky sometimes (especially in dialogue...sir...people use contractions when they speak). This is actually the second book in the series, and I realized about fifty pages in that the first is sitting in my comfort pile of unread books, haha. But it’s one of those series where each book focuses on a different couple, so it didn’t really matter.
Tumblr media
This is a book that I’ve had sitting in our library for years, and I thought I should finally read it. I DNFed it after thirty pages because it was kinda gross in its depiction of women (there were so many descriptions of breasts), and I felt that the POV of the main character, who’s on the autism spectrum, was kinda...eh...maybe offensive? I’m not on the spectrum myself, as far as I know, but it was just very...idk. It squicked me. Like, I know people on the autism spectrum and I have a really hard time believing this is representative of their internal thought process. But that’s of course coming from someone who isn’t autistic, so, you know. YMMV. It was also deeply, irritatingly heteronormative and focused on the idea that to fit in and be normal you have to have a spouse (heavily implied of the opposite sex, though like I said, I only got 30 pages in...though homosexuality was brought up in those 30 pages and not in a super positive way), get married, etc etc. This book was published in like 2013 btw, it’s not that old.
Anyway yeah, I hated this book! Haha.
Tumblr media
Another small town, opposites attract mlm romance. Again, fine. I would have probably rated this one higher if not for the completely unmarked POV shifts. They needed a page or chapter break. But I think it was self-published, and tbh, for a self-published book, I was pretty impressed.
And currently reading:
Tumblr media
It’s spoopy season now so I saved all my scary books for now! This one reminds me a lot of The Village (a movie that I LOVE so there), and is apparently also an Americana retelling of Rumpelstiltskin? I read the first half yesterday and am hoping to get through the second half today. Very atmospheric, very spooky, immaculate vibes. Also bees! The main character’s family keeps bees.

What My Followers Want To See More Of In Male Characters
I’m always looking for ways to improve my writing, especially writing male characters, and I’m happy to say that my WIP has quite a few of these. I think we can all agree that with the absolutely sickening influx of dark, broody, bad boys in YA fiction, having male characters with more nuance and hmmm I don’t know actual personalities is refreshing and something that all books need. Thank you guys so much for answering this poll(conducted through instagram), and let me know if there’s something else y’all want to be polled on that I can turn into a post! I didn’t change anything that you guys wrote, so there are some repeats on the list, but I think it makes a point to see how many people want to see the same (relatively simple) things in fiction!
Them being soft and kind
going to therapy/having mental health struggle
bisexuality!
non-toxic religious men
lgbt men(beyond being gay and fetishised)
feminine guys who aren’t gay
men of all sexualities being feminine
physically disabled men who are very masculine
straight male characters in close friendships with mlm characters
sensitive and weak moments
“feminine” men mb, guys who like flowers and stuff while also being very strong cause thats cool I think
confidence enough to compliment other men
feminine interests without being judged
discussing things they love doing
I think it’d be nice if people showed men’s insecurities more often. Also, men also get abused and stuff
emotions!!!
genuine friendships with someone who’s better than them
eating disorders, anxiety, insecurities, other common mental health concerns
guys not afraid to show their vulnerability and weaknesses to the people they care about
casually wearing makeup and not making a fuss or a statement out of it
being shy is ok. being nice to the mc and not being a complete douche bag, if the mc is being an idiot and playing with their feelings telling her straight up or leaving her, they don’t have to be attractive to be likable, their dark pasts isn’t an excuse for them to be shitty human beings
them being vulnerable
healthy platonic friendships
vulnerability and insecurity shown through non toxic traits
soft spoken, kind and gentle voice
I want to see them cook, sex, or such without invalidating their masculinity
male characters who express their emotions and aren’t ridiculed by others for it
I want more soft men tbh. It’s usually all badass and then breakdowns. I want someone who is fragile
affectionate with their friends and/or in tune with their emotions
less abs
males who aren’t afraid to cry and be affectionate with their friends
respect and genuine care for females and people of other genders, thank you
i would love to see more bisexual/pansexual male characters!!
the ability to take no for an answer
bisexual males that aren’t the main plot. they just get to be bi and it doesn’t affect the story
emotional softness
being vulnerable/crying without thinking that they’re weak for it
ones that are submissive and fine with it
Queer! Rep!
Ones that are fucking respectful of their female counterparts
talking about their feelings
kind to their lover without being called a simp
plus size
guys being allowed to be gentle and not seen as weak or inferior
openness rather than being closed off all of the time
I want to see witty and quirky characters + humor that is shown around EVERYONE
femininity and vulnerability, crying, breakdowns, etc.
varying sexualities
real emotion, crying, and for it be okay for them to do that
treats women like equals without having to be “taught” how to by a love interest
caring about others without being portrayed as awkward and/or flirtatious
emotions and kindness
showing emotions that isn’t anger
not being misogynistic
smart but not the typical ‘nerdy geek’ just there as an encyclopedia for the MC
Men who are comfortable with being emotionally open (and them being emotionally open DOESN’T automatically mean they’re gay
emotional maturity and having healthy relationships and behavior
showing affection to their platonic friends
respect toward others
male characters that are “motherly” Let them cook, clean, sew, and be good with kids
male characters who are perceptive and understanding
male characters with realistic, practical muscles
wanting hugs and getting giddy over little bits of affection
male characters who wear heels (even if the rest of their outfit is traditionally masculine)
black male protagonists
emotional strength instead of physical strength
males that let the non males take charge and our respectful
realistic bodies and insecurities
more males characters exploring their identity
males who have hobbies, they’re passionate about
physically and mentally strong and resilient. Protective, but respectful and supportive
not being overtly attractive and being okay with it
emotionally guarded without being cold or angry
more sympathy, less naïvety to the female protagonists feelings
stylish dudes who aren’t gay (not that lgbtq+ rep is bad it’s just a tiring stereotype)
guys friendships and protectiveness of non love interests
male characters being feminine without them being queer coded or comic relief
them finding a healthy way to cope with problems
healthy paternal figures that do not die in the saga please
big scary guys with hobbies like crochet, sewing and reading books for rescued animals
soft and loving and caring all the time who cry and are hurt and not badass all the time
be soft and kind to everyone, not just their bae
cool mysterious and stuff but not flipping depressed characters please stop that trope
them crying, having close female friends, being lgbt+(especially trans men), showing emotions
male characters that aren’t possessive/obsessive and know how to accept “no”
raising kids without a love interest involved
societies with men that aren’t stereotypical
male characters that aren’t naturally good leaders
a really straight guy having a really gay best friend
seeing more male characters be comfortable in expressing their feelings and emotions
