Just how much money have these people made off her since January and in normal times? As I’ve said before for many tabloids and fashion magazines she provided a weekly treasure chest of content even if she just had one event in that week. The media really needs a new profit model as this is not sustainable for them, nor is it morally acceptable to depend on one woman and shame her when she expresses her desire and right to privacy while recovering from serious surgery.
The Princess of Wales is also I believe the most photographed living woman in the Getty image database succeeding the place of Queen Elizabeth II, so another area was being beneficial to all these photography agencies.

Riptide
The sun and sand, some tasty waves, and a salt-filled breeze are all Derek needs.
Somehow, Stiles works his way into the equation.
[excerpt]:
Stiles looks out toward the water. The sun's rays catch him at an angle that makes his eyes look golden, and Derek can see the individual grains of sand that dust his face.
"You know the worst thing about it all?" Stiles asks softly. "It's that I'm going to be known forever as the goofy sidekick on a kid's show. Like, that's my legacy."
Derek takes a deep breath. He can relate. He was once considered a prodigy in the surfing world: touted as the next Kelly Slater after he'd won several local competitions right out of high school and then the Billabong Pipeline Masters at twenty, followed by a second-place finish at qualifiers for the US Open of Surfing. The recognition was heady; the groupies and sponsors, more so. And then there was Kate, who had entered Derek's life as hot and quick as wildfire before razing his world to the ground.
Part of the @sterekreversechallenges Sterek Reverse Bang 2023. Based on @wolfspurr 's beautiful, summery mood board prompt.
*The events in the news clipping take place right before the epilogue in the story.

Meet Miss Earth - Alias Graham Hill, the Grand Prix race driver
The straits times, 4th December 1966
There was a roar of applause from the 400 guests at London's exclusive park lane hotel as the first contestants in the latest beauty contest - Miss Earth 1966 - entered the hallroom.
Swaying rhythmically to the background music, and dressed in a swim suit that left little to the imagination, the face of Grand Prix racing driver Peter Arundel went almost unrecognised under a mass of flowing hair.
It was all part of a fund-raising takeoff of the rash of beauty contests that have become so much a part of the London scene.
With all profits going to charity, contestants include ex-world champion Graham Hill, racing drivers Nick Brittan, Harry Stiller, Peter Gethin, ex-driver Les Leston and West Essex Car Club offical, John Trimble.
All were in fetching swimsuits and long wigs to carry the charade further, and the contestants started with them parading around the ballroom to jeers, cheers, shouts and hoots of the audience.
Next they paraded in line for the judges - rally driver Rosemary Smith, Nick Brittan's wife, Jenny, and West Essex Club Secretary's wife, Barbara Greenway.
The judge's work was made more difficult as the contestants began to douse one another with soda siphones. But eventually, Graham Hill was declared the winner and crowned Miss Earth by Rosemary Smith. He then posed triumphantly on the table booked for the honourable Gerald Lascelles, Royal racing fan.
