There is a jikooker army account obsessed with pjms that post anons about pjms and make fun of us....jkkrs army are the most useless and pathetic breed, they only care about the company and their ship, they don't stream for jimin, they don't vote, they protect hybe and their fave (Jungkook)
Anyway I agree with you. I think Suga and Jk have a lot in common, they are obsessed with charts and numbers and their hobbies are
- making fun of jimin
- talking about views and charts
- praising each other (the genius rapper and the golden pop star)
- lying
I think I know exactly who you're talking about.
First of all, just to get it out of the way; there's nothing wrong with making fun of others, I'm constantly making fun of peope like her, sheep minded armys, jikookers, and the lot. It's funny when you see the irony in her being as obsessed with solos, as solos are with armys.
If this was a comedy movie, you'd have a shot of her talking about solos, and the next footage would be solos talking about her in the exact same way.
But people like her actually think they're so superior, they believe they're better than everyone else just because they like seven strangers men in the same way?? Please. They don't even love them the same, they just can't say that because then they'd have to allow others to not like them as well.
They're just as brainwashed as solos/akgaes, but in a different way. They're the other extreme. Solos think everything's wrong and sad, people like her, on the other hand, think that everything is great and happy.
People like her are the kind of dimwit, gullible that think BTS members own half of the company because they have 0.2 shares when even J Balvin left with more than what BTS own.
The kind that say the members choose everything and whatever they decide, the company complies no matter what. But when Jimin says "I asked for more MVs and they said no", they don't have anything to say about that. You'll notice they don't discuss things that prove them wrong, ever. They keep discussing things that others were wrong about, or things they don't agree with.
The kind that are very loud on opinions when it comes to akgaes saying "payolakook", even though they're right. But have nothing to say when Jungkook's fan deepfake porn pictures of random girls just because they're fans of Jimin. Those solos don't get a name, don't get laughed at, don't get called out. It gets swept under the rug and the people who do call it out are shushed in the guise of "keeping the calm".
These same "ot7" who claim to love everyone equally, are also very, very capable of talking about who they think it's a better singer, dancer, performer, and they LITERALLY talk about who's more popular all the time. Oh, yeah. They discuss and rank the members' popularity all the time. They are able to discern the differences between one and the other perfectly well, and talk a lot about their differences to uplift one and downplay the others so it'd make sense with their "the members choose everything and the copmany is so great" bedstory. Especially since July.
People like her are basically 24/7 saying how one deserves it all because he's a good singer, or the center, or whatever. Ironically, solos are being more ot7 when they say that all members deserved the same support from the company. Meanwhile """true ot7s"""" like her, are saying it's okay only one got it. Which one is asking for a fair treatment here, you tell me? The ot7 or the solos?

it's always hard to talk about someone you've known for so long, whose memories are directly related to yours. years have flown by, and this is the fourth birthday that i remember about you. i saw the person who became an example for me, support and someone I always wanted to follow further. the older I got, the more I found similarities in us, I saw my own in your pain and fatigue, and then I correlated what you said with mine and realized that our thoughts were similar. perhaps I absorbed like a sponge what was said, written by you, or initially everything coincided detail to detail. but now I know only one thing, and it is important to remember. I didn't become one person with you or lose myself, but grew up and became better together. you let me see the world with different eyes. through the broken thick glass of glasses. but it will be so little, if not to say that you have grown up with me and before my eyes. looking back, how much new music have you written? how many texts have passed before your eyes and does it correlate with the number of days you spent with yourself, resting? the answer may be no, but you know where you are right now. life can't be changed in any way and you're here. the world-famous idol is a child prodigy, followed by a golden boy and a talented child in the eyes of anyone who dares to look. shy, kind and with a big heart, someone who is not so scary to rely on, with bitten knuckles and big dreams. and maybe that's the way it is, you really have become one of the turning points not only in the lives of people around you, but also in your company and industry. you showed a completely different level of the artist and his attitude to work. a man who grew up in a family with a love for music, for people and a desire to give everything there is in this world. the child of his parents, who are now proud of you like no other. we are all proud of you when a very young Mark just joined the company and took the first places in the rating. still a little clumsy, insecure, but rapidly proving that talented children multiply their inclinations with work and work. and now, after many years, can anyone deny how much you are a rapper? how much are you a singer and a dancer, how well do you feel the music and everything connected with it? No, you become a landmark. it's scary how time flies and that it's already the fourth year (me with you) and you yourself are no longer twenty years old, you have become more mature, even more talented, open to the world. he trusted us with his secrets and told us why it is important not to let the bad feeling get the better of you. and it's like it's our turn to open up to you and know nctzens, markf, anyone will be here to shout your name loudest, laugh and cry with you. a year ago you released child, now golden hour, one day you dream of your own book and be in this place as long as possible. you once asked in one song ‘i hope you like it where i am now’ and the answer is yes. im proud of you, the boy from canada, who was not afraid and went after his dream. everything worked out for you and then only a bright future, in which there is always a place for you and a small guitar. It's strange to feel like I'm a twenty-year-old little adult, older than you when I first learned the name mark lee. it's funny, I'm twenty now and you turned twenty that year. but i hope that next time we will meet again, i am at the age of 21 and you are 25.
happy birthday, Mark, and thank you

Miss Manager
It all started with your aunt.
Your aunt has been a music producer for different artist for as long as you can remember.
By the time you graduated college, you were in desperate need for a job.
And your aunt heard about this and so she reached out to you about this important job.
“This one company I worked for before is debuting a new boy band and they are in desperate need of a manager. You can try to apply if you want.”
Now, your aunt told you the company was a bit small so the salary wont be too big
But you were desperate. After all, it was better than none and you needed the money fast.
And so you applied.
The interview was nervewracking but definitely not as challenging as you thought.
They asked you a few questions about yourself, your work ethic and other questions that really told them about your personality.
Just after a few days, you already received a call back from them anndddddddd…..
Surprise suprise
You got in! Congratulations!
The next day you met up with some staff who taught you the things you’re supposed to do.
Reviewing and reminding the boys about their schedules. Checking up on the events, stylists, their lessons. Scheduling their calendars. Talking to producers, event organizers etc etc
Needless to say, you are packed madam
But no worries. You are used to stress and you say yes to everything without no second thought.
After that brief showcase of your supposed job, the staff introduced you to the 5 boys.
Izuku Midoriya, the sweet, shy main vocal and leader of the group who proved to you that singing isnt just about belting because his voice serenaded you with how sweet, sincere and emotion-filled his singing was.
Shoto Todoroki, the cold and stoic song-writer, vocalist of the group who you thought would be pretty popular with the ladies once they debut because of his handsome face.
Katsuki Bakugo, the hot-headed producer, rapper of the group who was rather brash and looked to be rather stagnant in his work only for you to be surprised that he can play a few instruments and is the jack-of-all-trades of the group
Eijiro Kirishima, the talkative and bubbly singer, dancer who may seem clumsy with some normal things but when it comes to performing, shows why he was chosen for the group. His passion shines through making him very ‘manly’ in your eyes.
And finally, Denki Kaminari. The flirty main dancer of the group who can move his body incredibly fluidly and flawlessly as if bending your back towards the ground while doing a split was as easy as walking.
Now everyone was very polite and welcoming to you (even Bakugo no matter how ummm…unpolite he was) telling you that if you needed help they will gladly help.
But you shook your head, telling them to focus on themselves and their performance on stage and you’ll worry about everything that happens behind and before the stage.
A few months before the debut date, you had approached all the members individually asking them on what theme they want for the structures of their sound and message to look and sound like.
And that interview brought you a lot closer to these boys as they talked to you about their ideas, personal experiences and personalities.
Izuku told you that he wished their message would integrate that of never giving up hope and to always looking at the beautiful things in life rather than looking at what things you dont have.
A lesson that he had learned growing up from being always bullied about alot of things. His appearance, his life etc. And he wanted everyone especially the youth to feel like he knows how it feels to be alone and to feel like the world is against you.
But looking at the things he loved and he had like music, performing, his friends and his mom made him realise that all his wishes were just his wants and all his needs are already given to him.
Katsuki wanted to intertwine the main idea Izuku gave with adding the lesson he learned from his now band leader.
The lesson of the power of compassion and empathy. He was a prodigy in everything he did and so he felt cocky about it and almost like he was ontop of the world and everyone was just below him.
He even told you that he was one of the people who bullied Izuku but changed his ways once he realized how empty he felt even with all the glory.
Feeling something towards others made him feel more whole and important to the world and he wanted to teach everybody who was and still an asshole just like him that it is better to care than not caring about anything rather than yourself.
Shoto wanted to integrate the journey of the long road of unbias acknowledgement and acceptance of oneself.
He was a victim of parental abuse from his father that left him and his whole family scarred.
His mom especially, was damaged to the point where she became insane and detested anything and anyone who reminds her anything related to his father.
And him, getting some attributes from his father made him hate those parts believing them to be a curse, something monstrous like his father.
But once he learned how to accept that those parts arent Enji Todoroki but rather fully him, Shoto Todoroki was he able to let go of all the hate towards himself and his isolation from others.
And now that his father is trying to redeem himself from his past mistakes, he is no learning not to forgive yet, but to acknowledge that his father is trying without the bias of just chalking his father up to be just bad.
He knows that the world is morally gray, and so is his father whom he is now trying to erase the view of him just being the devil himself with a black, inked heart but rather a man realising the large doom he put onhis family cause of his mistakes.
And thats what he wants to share to the world. You dont have to forgive someone, but you need to forgive yourself if you want to move forward in life. Just because you remember a trait as something evil doesnt mean it is because like he said, the world is morally gray and so wait befor you judge.
Eijiro wanted to add the sense of positivity and being brave.
Being brave doesnt mean having no fears but rather fearing something but still facing it.
Its what makes a person so manly as he says.
And so many people bring down themselves just cause of the misconception of bravery.
They let their minds pick up on their flaws so much that even strengths will be considered as a flaw just because them or society doesnt like it.
And so he wants everyone to feel as positive about themselves as possible because you cannot be brave about external forces when you hide and run away from your internal insecurities and fears.
Denki, being last that you asked found out about each and everyones ideas and suggested only one thing. A story.
If its a love story, a self-ove one, a story of that of a hero, etc etc.
What he wants is something that would start as flawed just like he was when he started training in this company.
But he wants that one day if this band does seperate, he can look back on it and tell himself.
'This was my-no our story on how we recognised who we are, our strengths and weaknesses. This is our character development, the era where we improved our flaws and make our goods as excellent as possible. And I think we did it correctly.’
And hoped that maybe the future generations who’ll find their music, if they were lucky enough, would find this story and tell themselves that its never to late to start the journey they went through.
All of these made you cry small droplets of tears.
Each went through alot of things that may seem shallow but is actually so rooted and deep once you dig deep enough.
But you notice one motif of their ideas: The want to help, teach and reach out to everybody.
Your mind brightened as you ran to the office to suggest them an idea that popped in your mind.
“Why not call their group name: Hero? It fits with their whole theme and wants for their careers.”
Needless to say the boys, the staff and some higher ups liked it and decided to stick with that.
And so the day they debuted came and you were amazed with their talents when ir came to acting on the music video (just as you though their talents were just in performing, you were wrong they were excellent actors as well)
The song ended up becoming well. The views werent that bad and they were earning a few fans here and there.
You thought it would be the best to let them perform on a small scale and schedule those on small auditoriums(?) with the maximum of a hundred people with only 2 performance a week.
Well your mind slowly started to change about that decision when you saw them practice their song at 1 in the morning. All of them drenched in their sweat but they all enthusiastically agreed when Izuku asked for another rundown.
They reminded themselves of the promise they all told each other:
“Even if thousands, hundreds or even one person came to see us, we’ll still perform like its our last.”
And they definitely did.
Ome of their first performances infront of the public only had less than a hundred but they all performed like they’ll die if they did not give a 110% of their power
You can bet that after that one performance, all 60 people who came to watch their performance were in awe and some even at the state of open mouthed shock because of how charismatic and mindblowing everything was.
You were also in big awe. You were used to watching some performances by other artists that were more well known.
But this. They were spectacular even if there were no special effects or fireworks, no nothing. Just the passion, talent and hardwork of these boys.
After the stage, the 5 approached you, before bowing their heads as low as they can. Thanking you for your hardwork on setting up a stage where they can perform like they have always dreamed of.
But you also bowed your head, but this time in apology.
You admitted that you had indeed doubted their skills. But with just this one performance, you were convinced that they could do so much better and alot of people deserved to see their love of performing.
You promised that from that point onward, you will do more than your best and not doubt them because they are clearly using everything they have.
So what is holding you back from doing the same.

FUTURE DREAMS S5 SCENARIOS : week three COUNT : 826 words
back for another interview, this time he sits confidently and comfortably. he has one performance down with future dreams already, and as much as he loves performing, he’s glad he doesn’t have to stress over one this week. then, the first question, “where would you rank yourself among the other participants this season?”
dowoon had watched the previous seasons of future dreams religiously, so he should have expected the ranking system to return. but, he’s still taken aback when faced with the question. it’s a dilemma for him. does he be confident and put himself among the top? he had been given praise during the last trainee evaluation. but, after last weeks performances, he’s lost a bit of his confidence. he thought his performance was good, but some of the other trainees showed off their versatility and range of skills that impressed dowoon. he worried the judges would ping him for a one-trick-pony. he worried maybe he was just a singer, not ready for the demands of an idol.
he decided to go with honesty. those were the kind of contestants he rooted for when he watched, the trainees that were genuine with their thoughts. “right now, i would honestly put myself pretty low. maybe 15?” he admitted solemnly. “i don’t think i’m at the bottom, but i still have a lot to improve in if i want to win.” he was making progress, but he still didn’t think he was quite there yet. thinking that was a somber note to end his response on, he raised his fist and added, energetically, “which i will work hard to do, so please cheer me on this season!” directly to the camera.
the second question is a lot more antagonistic than he ever thought himself to be. dowoon isn’t someone that liked competition. he never had a natural competitive spirit and hated when he was disliked. he didn’t want any of the trainees (who he could be placed in a group with down the line) think ill of him. “hmm, that’s hard actually! i don’t want to call anyone out...” but this is a competition, he reminds himself silently. he has to bring out the small competitive spirit inside of him for this show.
“first, singing, i will say” there were a lot of good vocalists in this season, all of which he would like to prove himself against. he consides keeho [ @lgckeeho ] would be a good choice. he had a good voice and is an excellent all around performer. but he goes with the predictable, “su parker [ @lgcparker ], who i think will probably be everyone’s pick for singing and a hyung i really respect” he answered. “not only is he, in my opinion, the best vocalist this season, we have competed as trainees and i enjoyed that time, so i would like to do it again if given the chance.” they were able to collaborate while in direct competition with one another, which dowoon really valued. “our skillsets are also similar, even though i think he’s a lot farther along than i am. so, i think us competing is pretty natural.”
“we have a lot of good dancers this season so it’s little intimidating.” despite his improvements, dance was still a sore spot for dowoon. he wanted to catch up to everyone around him and he was, but after last week’s performances, he was still lagging behind a lot of the trainees. “even though he’s a lot better than me, i would like to go against lee indy [ @indylgc ] in dance!” he said with confidence after a moment of contemplation. “didn’t he do so well last week? his dancing is always fun to watch and he executed the concept really well.” indy’s was one of the more memorable performances from the week before and refreshed dowoon during the hours of shooting. “he’s also taught me a lot about dance. i would like to go against him to show how much i’ve improved, with his help.”
he was avoiding talking about rap, his worst skill. once again, there were a lot of good rappers to consider. however, since that was a skill he felt the least confident in, he thought he should go with a safer pick. “for rap, i will pick song jiahn [ @lgcjiahn ]” he said finally. “while i’m not very close with this trainee, i have seen from afar that he is talented in a lot of different areas. from what i have seen, we are at simliar levels in rapping. i would like to go against him so we could try to get closer and see who would pull ahead in the end.” dowoon felt shy basically asking this guy he was a friend of a friend of to compete, but it was too late now. with all of the questions answered, he left the interview with a polite goodbye and a slightly blush on his face.

Just listened to 9/12 (3/4!) of Psy’s new album.
I only knew him from his eccentric tts, so I was quite surprised by the album. He’s a rapper? I’d assumed he was just an average vocalist whose strengths lay in being artistic, funny, charismatic, bold - plus a good dancer with great stage presence. Turns out he raps a lot too! However, I don’t enjoy really enjoy his rap, it's very textbook, like he’s trying too hard to be a “real” rapper. And his singing isn’t very enjoyable either, simply because his vocal tone isn’t super pleasant...
My thoughts on what I’ve heard of the album are that most songs are very average, and I got the feeling he was trying too hard to assert himself as a “real” artist. Obviously, most of us know Psy from camp, even cringey, songs like Gangnam Style, so I believe that - in spite of That That being very “Psy” - he tried to reinvent himself or to prove his “worth” as an artist with his bsides (but I don’t know if his bsides were always so different from his title tracks). Sadly, to me, his bsides were just trendy, run-of-the-mill kpop tracks. The introspective tone of some of the songs was a miss for me, particularly since I don’t like his rap. He just doesn’t have his own style, it sounds like he’s copying someone.
There’s a real lack of authenticity in the album. All it did was confuse me. Who is Psy? What does he want to be known for? What kind of music does he want to make? Music like That That, or songs any number of amateur rappers could produce (like GANJI, with Jessi)? Some of artists who featured in the album are more mainstream (Jessi and Hwasa) and some are more indie (Heize and Crush),  so Psy carefully put together an album meant to highlight his range and versatility as an artist, to show us he has many sides to him other than being “that” Gangnam Style guy. But I think, more than anything, the album left me disappointed in his artistry. Psy sounds lost, like he’s trying to prove something but doesn’t quite know how - or at a certain point what. I also wanted to see a different side to him than what I’d heard thus far in his title tracks, but I didn’t want him to try every trendy sound in kpop and find what sticks. Experimenting is good, but it needs to be authentic.
I think a lot of people will say his “real” music are his bsides, but That That is the best song in the album to me (I heard 3/4 of it). Yes, it’s very Gangnam Style Psy, but that Psy is unique and draws people in to this day. Even if his tts are campy, they’re funny, a bit satirical, fresh. That That made a good job of revamping Gangnam Style - musically, it’s much more sophisticated, it’s trendier, it’s camp without being meme music, and it will probably age better. That That is Psy at his best imo. He shines in those kinds of tracks. He’s not a particularly good singer or rapper, but he’s charismatic and puts on a smile on your face; he’s bold, confident, unpredictable. I don’t think that it’s bad for him to lean into that kind of sound and image, and if he wants to branch out and change the gp’s perception of him, I think he needs to find a better way to do it (based on my impression of this album only). Psy’s 9th album showcased his limitations more so than his strengths imo.
Before, I said That That was a bit repetitive and got boring, and I stand by that opinion, but I still find it pretty enjoyable, and believe the song gets more exciting with repeat listens. None of the other songs in his album held my attention, although the intro had sounded promising. I probably won’t finish the album.

About the truck situation i read this today which i agree with...
"Like none of these overstep any of jm's personal choices or creative freedom or autonomy"
there were many things that the fans were upset about jm's 9 days promotions being one of them. Now if the truck made demand for explanation of these kind of things then i would have been mad and sad both cause I know for a fact that it would have made jm feel like he didn't do enough which is not true. but all the demands for which the trucks were send are from comapny and nothing from jm's side. We're not demanding anything from him but the company.
Jm might know many things but i doubt he knows the things that fans knows that's happening here cause the way he only got to know about Marvel using frnd as OST in their movie through fans only was given. I read somewhere that RM said that he was invited to a movie premiere but the company denied it without even asking him. See these are the kind of things that happens in that company and we know how they denied jm more MVs when they gave it to all other members who debuted after him and not only that but made him feel like he was asking more from the company. ppl can say whatever but i don't trust that company a bit. That's a money hungry company with an agenda to prove and jm comes in between that so dought they'll do something more for him.
Now about jm will he feel embarrassed after knowing those trucks were from his fans? Idk but given how he doesn't like sharing much from his personal and professional life he might not like ppl being in his business but do i think he'll be mad at fans? probably No. As far as i know him he'll ask what the demands are, he'll think from company's perspective as well as fans'perspective. this is coming from k fans so he'll think more about it. Idt he'll get mad at his fans but he'll only think of what's going on with his Album and all. He'll try to resolve the things for better.
For yrs memebrs as well as the comapny has pushed some things like who's the visuals? Jin and V, who's the main singer and golden boy? JK, who's the genius? RM, who's the best rapper ? Yg, who's the main dancer? Hoba then what about park jimin? Who is he in the grp? Depsite him having the two imp positions in the grp does he get that acknowledgement ? Hardly.
I remember jm saying "At one point i even thought if going solo is even a good option for him" and giving him all the achievements is the only way we/i can assure him that he's doing great and we are interested in his solo music. Now imagine if he didn't get the achievements he did with face do you think his confidance with making music would have stayed high? No. So that platinum thing made me more mad cause jm is the first one to do that but they made sure to make it look like jk is the first one. Like why is jm supposed to be consider as 2nd, 3rd or 4th when he was the first one? For how long are we supposed to stay still and wait for them to move? The point is would they ever move for him? If he's coming in between their plan why would they? Does jm know his CDs are not getting restocked since 2nd week of song release despite fans making demands but seven's CDs were restocked again and again despite having low sales?we did everything we could in these 7 months for that comapny to make a move but they didn't so idt there's any option left to try.
As a pjm (I'm not a jkkr but i saw your blog under jm's name so I'm just answering) i honestly won't feel embarassed for anything even if jm said it was a wrong move from fans side cause if he's getting known about the situation even through some embarassing tactics so be it.
I definitely agree that I thought the statement wasn’t bad! I think it was good that they just wanted explanations (and the RIAA certification) but weren’t making demands otherwise. But I personally don’t agree with a majority of the statement being a big enough deal to warrant trucks.
I genuinely don’t think there’s a strong logical argument for CD restocks. I talked about it a little bit in a previous ask so I won’t get too into it again here. I’m open to opinions about it of course, but I feel pretty strong about it at this point. I wish HYBE restocked them to help with BBMAs but I don’t think it’s the height of neglect either.
And I think if they could go back they would have had more CDs prepped but I don’t think anyone could have expected billboard to change the rules like that or for LC to hit #1 and desperately need that assistance with longevity. It was shocking and unexpected all around. If Jimin releases another single that is clearly aiming for charts and they don’t give him a ton of CDs and if they don’t have a strategy for longevity -- then I will be going after BH. But for now I’m just going to wait and watch.
Same as Spotify. BH had another one of their artists streams split, it’s not an uncommon thing on Spotify, multi language songs do not seem to be regularly combined. MOAs didn’t expect BH to make a statement when TXTs streams were split, so why do ARMYs/PJMs think it’s necessary? Like I said in another ask, it was traumatic and awful for us, but it’s not exactly their fault.
RIAA situation I agree with. I understand HYBE is inconsistent with applying for certifications but if they were going to do it for one soloist and make a big deal about it they should have done it for JM too. I know they probably did it for JK because the timing worked out well, but it was still a bad look.
I’ll never blame anyone for not trusting a big money hungry corporation but a lot of things people are upset about are based on their assumptions and hypotheticals. I know that Jimin has a good relationship with a majority of the staff he works with, I know that he renewed his contract, I know he’s capable of looking into things on his own without our help if he has confusion or issues. And a lot of the stuff above is seeking clarification for ourselves. We want to know what happened with Spotify, we want to know about CD restocks. How do you know that Jimin isn’t aware of those things? Also no one actually knows why JM was denied a visual album. I don’t like it either, they should give that man whatever he wants, but for all we know it was a timing issue and not a budget one. JM does know though, and I trust him to be able to sort that stuff out by this point. There’s nothing we can do about it now.
Also you say he doesn’t know about the things fans know are happening, but I just want to ask, what else do you think is happening that he should know about? I can’t really think of much tbh. The only thing I hope he knows is that billboard screwed him over and fans showed up for him in that second week for LC. I wonder if some people forget that if we’re just basing success on numbers FACE objectively did the second best out of all releases (maybe even the best in some smaller categories too, like didn't he sell the most albums in JP?). An EP that was supposed to be a mixtape that he considered an unambitious project did all that. I don’t think he was trying to be “#1” with that, pretty sure he said he wasn't thinking about numbers and achievements at all, he didn't release it for that reason. And the streams for LC are actually insane. So I’m really wondering, why are fans acting like the sky is falling and everything is going wrong? Is it just what’s going on with JK? Am I forgetting some key points here (and I definitely could be)?
I’ll be honest with you and say that sometimes I think people see what’s going on in the fandom, the unfairness and unequal treatment and all these accounts that are probably closet akgaes, voting accounts changing their rules because they hate PJMs, big accounts ignoring his brand posts etc and they connect it to their overall feelings on mistreatment and sabotage. But people have to disconnect the fandom from what’s actually going on with Jimin in real life. I don’t mean this with you, it’s just sometimes I see the mood is so bad and everyone is sad for Jimin, and then I realize it’s because some random big ARMY account is showing their ass.
Because you list examples of how some ARMYs talk about JM vs other members, and I agree for example most ARMYs will claim JH is the best dancer but attack you if you say it's JM, but that doesn’t reflect JM’s reality. Because JM has been given probably the most solo stages and a lot of the killing moments in their group choreography. His solo stages almost always make the most buzz, he received a national award for his fan dance even though koobi were also a part of that performance, k-media I think has recognized his dancing more often too. There’s also that whole brand ranking thing where JM is constantly in at least the top 5 despite going MIA for months at a time and just posting random things like eggs on IG. He has always been insanely popular, and I think he knows that. Sure fandom can be weird online sometimes to Jimin, but it doesn’t usually reflect the reality of how popular and adored he is and how fans treat him in general, or even what he sees.
I also don’t think he would have had his confidence knocked too hard if FACE didn’t perform as well as it did. It was pretty clear it was music he was making for himself and he wasn’t even sure if fans would like it considering it was pretty dark and went against a lot of expectations. But he did it anyways because he liked it and connected with it. I mean, he keeps saying SMFpt2 is his favorite song, most of the producers he worked with and the BTS members seem to say the same thing too, but he must be aware there was some backlash around it, and he knows that LC is way more popular. He doesn’t care, SMFpt2 is still his favorite and he feels confident about it. I just don’t think his confidence is so easily shaken. I think he knows how much power he has. But I do agree that as a fan, I’m really happy when we can reach him and let him know how loved he is and how much we love his music. It was amazing giving him that #1 and seeing his reaction and I’m sure we did boost his confidence too, which makes me happy.
And I don’t think he would be mad at fans for trucks. I think he would blame himself for his fans being unhappy even if it's not his fault and probably feel bad on top of feeling embarrassed about the trucks, which is worse to me. Him knowing about the RIAA situation is not worth all that for me. But like I said, I do empathize, because FACE era we went though so much, and I think HYBE deserves criticism for a lot of things (and it doesn't hurt my feelings seeing a company get dragged) but I just think people are really making big issues out of small things.

Reminiscences: 'Jack In The Box' Grammy´s Review [07.15.22]
5 Takeaways From J-Hope's New Album 'Jack In The Box'
Tumblr media
With the arrival of j-hope's debut solo album, 'Jack in the Box,' the BTS rapper proves he's a star in his own right — one who loves to push the envelope.
Often nicknamed the "sunshine" of Korean septet BTS, rapper and dancer j-hope has officially shown us that it's possible to be a light without being limited to one emotion. His highly anticipated debut studio album, entitled Jack in the Box, dropped July 15.
The project was teased to show a darker and more mature side of j-hope, and the end result is just as enjoyable as one could imagine. The rapper's previous 2018 mixtape, Hope World, and 2019 single "Chicken Noodle Soup" featuring Becky G were high energy and danceable, but j-hope has graduated to a new level of artistry that transcends any limits previously placed on him.
The album contains 10 tracks, including the hip-hop-inspired and rock-infused lead single, "More." On his fiery second single, "Arson," j-hope poignantly tells haters to "f off" and details his journey as a popular music act. He continues to explore various emotions with raw honesty throughout the rest of the tracks on Jack in the Box,* including "Pandora's Box," "STOP" and "Future."
Just two weeks after the release of Jack in the Box, j-hope will bring the album to the stage at Lollapalooza on July 31. It marks a history-making performance, as j-hope will be the first Korean artist to headline a major music festival.
In the meantime, witness j-hope's growth on his new album, and check out 5 key takeaways from Jack in the Box below.
youtube
The Songs Are Short But Sweet
At exactly three minutes, "More" is the longest track on Jack in the Box.In total, the album is a concise 21 minutes and 41 seconds long, with most songs falling between 2 and 3 minutes. The shortest song is the intro, which is just below a minute long at 58 seconds. The length makes it extremely easy to stream over and over, while still packing a lot of gems.
j-hope Isn't Afraid To Take On Social Issues
On a standout track called "=(Equal Sign)," the message of equality is loud and clear. The song celebrates our differences and champions diversity, all while encouraging listeners to be aware of and fight against inequality. With lyrics like, "The world's so big/ But people's minds are narrow" and "Hate will paralyze your mind/ Gotta see the other side," the song makes a strong case for tolerance across age, gender, nationality, and anything else that sets us apart.
With the platform j-hope has, his choice to uplift different communities is admirable and will surely touch the hearts of many. Social change has always been at the core of BTS, so this is an unsurprising yet welcome message to receive.
youtube
He's A Student Of Hip-Hop, But Still Versatile
The influence of '90s hip-hop is apparent throughout the project, and feels very fitting for the rapper — despite differing sonically from his previous mixtape, Hope World. Take a deeper look, and it's clear from the production and lyricism that j-hope has taken note of what makes a great hip-hop album, with genres like R&B and rock sprinkled in.
He adds his own flavor, but tackles the rebellion and societal critique that is key in the genre, even more specifically from the '90s. On tracks like "=(Equal Sign)" and "Future", j-hope harmonizes like a natural born singer, further showcasing his versatility. His voice is laced with passion as he bounces between rapping and singing throughout the 10 tracks.
"What if…" Samples '90s Hip-Hop Legends
If you take a look at the credits for the song "What if…," you'll see the names R. Jones (Ol' Dirty Bastard) and R. Diggs (RZA) of Wu Tang Clan. That's because the song samples ODB's 1995 song "Shimmy Shimmy Ya," which the two co-wrote. The legendary artists are well respected for their contributions to music, and it's only fitting that j-hope would want to include a piece of that legacy on his debut album.
youtube
"Chapter 2" Is Officially Here
The release of Jack in the Box ushers in BTS's new era where they focus on individual projects. j-hope's maturity is exhibited in a compelling way on this album, and shows how much he's grown in confidence as an artist over the years.
After establishing a persona that's bright and cheery, j-hope took the leap of going in a completely different artistic direction for his debut project. The rapper showed that he's not going to let society or expectations affect how he makes the music he loves.
While there's something for everybody on the 10 tracks, ultimately, this project is a personal milestone and a re-introduction to j-hope's world. Thanks to Jack in the Box, it's clear that j-hope has a bright future ahead of him, both as a member of BTS and as a solo act.

Oooh I wanted to talk about Lastart with someone, glad you're also tuned in! I really like the combination of Yusion, their performance wasn't the best but somehow I'm really fond of the two 💓 As for my current picks: Anderson and Riku
Anderson looks like he has one foot set in NCT already, so not much to say about him 😂 I want to see what role he will take in a performance, vocals or rap, but his stage presence is already enough to attract attention.
Riku to me was outstanding! Along with Ryu, who trained for 2 weeks, both of them delivered a very solid performance. I could feels some emotion in the way the rap and sing, it was refreshing to see such a performance in midst of the dancing. Riku's diction was clear, his voice was unique enough to be Neo, and he did say he's in a bad condition that day so I'm excited to see what he'll bring in future eps!
Jungmin's voice was superb and fitting with my rock subunit agenda, his smile was blinding what a charming character! His partner Minjae was a good vocalist too, SM is really good at finding these talents tbh. Kassho's visuals were very Neo, he would make a really good model one day. Heitetsu I only remember his worm dance 😂 I would like to see more of what Ryo could do, since he was really overshadowed by Anderson in their performance. The Chewing Gum boys were too cute and they did very well covering the song too, I just wish they weren't too young 😭 there should be another dream-like unit for them.
Excited for the next performances !! There's no buzz on twitter about it so I'm pouring all thoughts here haha
Let's talk, let's talk, we are getting last fixed addition to the family afterall. The future OT29 (yes, I'm counting the ex-members).
Yusion already has a couple name? They are going to be shipped like SungTaro are, aren't they?
They are cute, very SM visual, I did expect them to be better technically, they were hinted very early on and were supposed to join Shotaro, the bar for them should be higher than for the rest.
Anderson is sociable and achieves set goals. He could be a neutral ground between Koreans and Japanese, be a mediator if any tension arises. He had the best stage presence as well. Maybe not nessesary that of an idol, but that's adjustable.
SM will judge not only pure talent but compatibility with the other members and the concept they have in mind. There should be performances together with Yuushi and Sion.
I like Haruta, he seems to have a nice personality and he was expressive with the upper part of his body. Hard to see him as a neo though. Maybe he'll have a chance to prove me wrong.
Aside from the voice, I like Jungmin's charm, he looks open and inviting, which is a plus for a Japanese in a Korean group. Shotaro was met with a lot of hate due to his nationality in the beginning but won fans over thanks to his character. A calm but cheerful character is also a plus for an idol. Like Karina has a very suitable personality. The fame doesn't get to her head, she stays hardworking and level-headed.
Minjae reminds me Seventeen's DK (I'm a very casual listener of the group, so don't know members well). Can see an idol, but not a neo yet.
Heitetsu is a clear "no" for me (I like his name though), Kassho has an attidute that is benefitial for an idol, makes them entertaining to watch. Kassho is not a dancer, judging by his interview, let's see how good of a singer/rapper he is.
It is interesting SM chose another trainee (Ryu) with a voice more suited for a rock group than an idol one. Maybe they do have a ready image for the unit? Jungmin, Minjae and Ryo - all have that scratchiness to their voices, they all should match.
I think Sakuya is still an option for the unit. The concept made him look even younger, than he is, otherwise he had his growth spurt already, his voice deepened. Depends on his skill level and versatility. 127 has a bigger age gap between SunMoon than these trainees.

A Fresh Start
Itzy 6th Member AU
Pre-Debut Era
Jina joined JYPE for new opportunities, but it doesn’t feel that way for her
Tumblr media
*If you want to know the characters in this story, read this
Can’t You Hear that Boom Boom Bass
Jina sang the last line on her monthly evaluation song. She, along with 4 other girls, were assigned Nicki Minaj’s Super Bass. And while the singing came easily to Jina, the dancing and performing aspect made her want to leave.
“Jina, do you not like the song?” Sangwoo asked the girl. “You don’t seem engaged with the choreography and your face was blank the whole time!”
Jina sighed, knowing he was right. Since she had come to JYPE, she has barely received any praise. The trainers said the only thing good about her was her voice.
“I’m sorry. I didn’t have time to understand what the lyrics meant because we had to change our song last night.”
“Why did you have to change your song?” Sangwoo asked.
“Another group had chosen our original song, so we choose to pick a new one for less confusion,” Areum answered instead. Jina was grateful for Areum, as she was the only person here that spoke Cantonese.
“That makes since as to all of you doing poorly,” Jihun said, surprising the girls. Jihun barely spook up during the evaluations and when he did, he would normally praise the girls.
“Maybe we weren’t perfect, but we are getting better!” Miyeon said, trying to keep her calm. Miyeon was the worst at taking criticism out of the 5 girls.
“The only good thing about your performance was Jina’s vocals. Everyone else was either a bad singer, bad rapper, or bad dancer. You weren’t even in sync!”
Dasom sighed and looked over her notes, “I do have to agree with him on the vocal parts. Jina was the only good vocalist and while she is not a good performer, she fully carried this performance!”
Chaewon almost started crying right there. She was the youngest at only 13 and she had just joined JYPE this year. She also was one of the few Japanese trainees and she couldn’t always get pass the language barrier.
Changho looked at them and sadly looked down. He was the newest staff member in the room and he hated telling the trainees they wouldn’t make it.
“Look, girls. It’s fairly simple,” Jihun said looking at the 5 of them. “You either need to become better soon or you won’t have a future with JYPE. We are debuting a new girl group later this year and if you don’t step up, you have no chance of debuting! You’re dismissed.”
The girls quickly rushed out of their, not wanting to upset Jihun anymore. Chaewon had started fully crying now. Areum hugged her and started apologizing. The competition at JYPE was so tough that more than one bad evaluation and you were done. It had happened so many time before that Jina didn’t even want to think about it.
“Jina, what are you thinking about?” Sooyoung was the oldest of the 5, having been in JYPE since 2012. She was an amazing leader, but she was almost never praised for her talents.
Jina looked over at her, almost about to cry herself. “Every time they do that I feel bad.”
“Do you mean every time they say how amazing you are?”
“No, I mean every time they use me to drag anyone else. And in the process, they still drag me! They clearly said that I was a bad performer, but I still carried the performance!”
They had been doing since Jina got in and it’s a wonder she was still a trainee with all the bad evaluations she got. She wouldn’t be surprised if this was the final straw and they kicked her out!
Jina sighed, just wanting to be alone and practice for her solo evaluation. “I should go. I need to improve my stage presence at the very least and I reserved a practice room for the night.”
“Good luck,” Areum said, smiling at Jina. She and Jina were the closest of all the girls and had begun training within a month of each other. “If you need some help, feel free to call me!”
Jina waved bye to the girls and started heading towards the rehearsal space. She would have one more shot to prove she deserves to stay in the company and she wasn’t going to waste it.
She began moving through the steps, like she had been practicing. Her vocals were stable and she knew when to breath, but with her dancing she needed a big boost!
For her individual performance, she had picked Ariana Grandes Into You. It would show off her vocals and it gave her the opportunity to do a more sultry dance. Also, the way it was choreographed, it was a easy dance, but it looked great and matched the song perfectly!
She had gotten the beginning parts down, but the pre chorus required her to jump up from the floor and fully land, while still singing! She had tried over and over, but she could not get it!
She tried the move again, but instead of falling on her butt, she twisted and fell on her arm. She quickly grabbed her arm and felt it being broken. She was still on her side when she heard a voice from the door, saying….
“Oh, god! Are you okay?”

jjk; angel’s trumpet [03]
Tumblr media
summary; one second, your life is flashing before your eyes and the next, you’re transported into a world exactly like your own. but the jungkook you meet in this world isn’t a renowned singer or your former almost-lover, in fact he has no clue who you are and why you know him so well. as you work to find your way home lost and confused, you conclude that you’re either dead or in the middle of the most wicked drug trip of your life. pairing; idol!jk x reader (f), alternatively film producer!jk x reader genre/warnings; fluff, angst, supernatural, idol!au, non-idol!au, alternate universes, themes of fate, language, alcohol consumption, mentions of smut in future chapters w.c; 5k a/n; we’re finally getting into some traction with the main plot! who are we liking more so far, w1!jk or w2!jk??
[02] [03] [04]-> masterpost
Instead of going to the doctor, you take a trip to the library. If Namjoon thinks your ideas are  supernatural, you’re going to find someone who believes in the supernatural.
He calls you in the morning just to make sure you’re going to his recommended doctor.  You fabricate a lie that the doctor friend he recommended is busy so you’re going to go find another one in the meantime. Just in case Namjoon decides to ask said doctor about your current mental and physical state, you want to make sure you cover your tracks. As much as you want to give it another go and help Namjoon understand your precarious situation, you weren’t up for another possibility of rejection.
You wanted to avoid Namjoon’s rejection so much that you’d rather turn to unconventional alternatives to finding your answer.
Unfortunately, Tony Stark and Steven Strange do not exist in this universe, and therefore you need to turn to more practical measures.
Seoul University has a zillion libraries, and you decide to go to the general library in the hopes you’ll find something in the subject of world-hopping. Unfortunately you haven’t been in a huge library since you were a senior in college, and the smell of paper, sad students and ink all but overwhelms you.
You’re about to start wandering when a young voice snatches your attention. “Miss,” you feel a tug at your belt loop, and you notice a little boy looking up at you with a pout. “I lost my way after using the bathroom and I can’t find the daycare.”
A little part of you wonders who on earth could’ve let a boy no older than five out of their sights, especially in such a spacious building. Alas, you smile and offer him your hand, suggesting that the two of you look for a map.
“Well it’s a good thing we found each other!” you say brightly, encouraging the kid to follow you to the kiosk, “I was just about to look for a map because I’m a little lost too, we can read it together.”
The boy tells you his name is Bogum, and you respond with yours and explain that it’s okay to get lost, especially when this library is so big. He listens to you with rapt attention, wide eyes as you spell out the words “daycare” using the little paper map you brought with you from the lobby.
Bogum and you stop in front of a plain room with a cheap powder blue baby gate, deep in the children’s section of the library. It’s there that you spot five or so children huddled over the flatscreen television, ‘oh’ and ‘ah’-ing over whatever film’s prattling on. You’re not surprised that Frozen 2 remains a sensation in both worlds.
Bogum opens the door first, and you make eye contact with the only adult in the room. He’s lean and friendly-looking, holding a child in their lap as they sing along to “Into the Unknown”. Your heart is caught in your throat, begging to be released as your eyes widen in surprise.
“Hobi!” you blurt instinctively, but you immediately clamp your mouth upon realizing. You really need to get used to this, but honestly how can anyone get used to this kind of situation? Hoseok will definitely be the fourth person you’ve alarmed in the past five days.
Hoseok’s jaw drops slightly, head tilted as the rest of the mini-crew train their eyes on you. You shrink in the presence of children, knowing from experience nothing gets by them.
“Is that your girlfriend, Hobi-ah?”
“Do you know her, Mr. Hoseok?”
“She looks scared, what did you do?”
The affronted man presses his lips in a thin line, “Dunno,” he answers vaguely. He seems unperturbed, hands settling in his traffic cone orange sweatpants. He gestures to the snacks in the middle of the room, releasing the children’s inner fire for food, “but it’s fruit snack time! Go ahead and grab your water from the cubbies, you can eat while you watch.”
The babies cheer, and you smile fondly as the kids rip open their packets and giggle over Olaf. You wish you could go back to simpler times.
“So,” Hoseok stands up, and gestures for you to sit at the small kids table in the back, “Do I know you? I don’t know if I know you, but I feel like I know you. Because you know me.”
Deciding you need to sit down for his bombardment you squeeze your legs into the worn Fisher-Price desk, running your nails over the crayon stains and pencil shavings. “Uh, no?”
“Did we have a class together? Hook-up? Friend’s hook-up that I tried to coerce into a threesome?”
“Ohmygod, there are children here!” you hiss, but Hoseok just smiles plainly, offering you a bag of fruit snacks that he snagged before the children emptied his bowl. You accept the gesture, unable to make eye contact.
Seeing the members out of their clan of seven is still jarring to you. You can’t imagine a world without the seven of them together. Like they always say, Bangtan is fate.
“I just wanted to return Bogum,” you say, crinkling the foil bag in your grasp, “and I’m actually looking for a professor who has her office hours here. I have uh, questions on my thesis on alternate universes.”
“Ah, are you referring to Professor Song?” you nod, “she cancelled her office hours for today, if you bothered to email her. And anyways, she doesn’t take kindly to questions on supernatural phenomena. Not since her latest book on paranormal channeling tanked.”
Your face visibly falls, dejected. You probably should’ve tried to schedule an appointment. “O-oh.”
“But as a non-judgemental soul, I would be happy to assist you on your ‘thesis’.” Hoseok  air-quotes, noting that the kids are only in the very beginning of Frozen 2 and they have a whole hour and a half to their own devices. “And in exchange, I want to know the real reason as to why you’re looking for her, especially because you referred to me so excitedly as Hobi, and not Hoseok,” he crosses his arms, “and only my mother and sister have the right to call me that.”
You feel like a kid sent to the time-out corner, inevitably forced to fess up. It didn’t work out as well as you hoped with Namjoon, and you feared to be disappointed when Hoseok disagreed with you as well. Of course, you can’t blame them. If Hoseok came up to you and said he came from an alternate universe, you’d run for the hills.
But Hoseok is sweet and sincere, and he’s definitely not letting you go. In fact, he’s empathetic, already distressed from seeing you sweating and wringing the poor fruit snack packet.
He drags over a mini chalkboard cart, poised to take notes. “C’mon, I won’t bite.”
You frown, “Promise you won’t laugh at me until the very end?”
“Promise.”
Forty minutes later and in the turning point of Frozen 2, Hoseok has drawn up what looks like a convoluted flowchart detailing every single thing you’ve said up until this point. It reminds you of a child’s drawing, symbolizing all the dead-ends and turns of your life, but you’re sure Hoseok doesn’t want to hear that.
Within the first ten minutes of your story, Hoseok is shaking his head. “That’s crazy. C’mon, prove it. If we’re really friends in an alternate universe, how much do you know about me?”
Hoseok's face falls farther and farther into his lap as you respond with a straight face. His birthday, favorite foods, hobbies, music taste, and even feelings towards melodramatic movies are laid out in your words like a personal diary.
He crosses his arms, narrowing his eyes. “Tell a secret that you know about me.”
That stumps you. You make a face, stuffing a strawberry gummy in your mouth as you think about any conversation you could’ve possibly had with Hoseok in the past year. There’s a possibility that whatever happened to Hoseok in your world hasn’t happened in this one, but you have to at least try.
With as much confidence as you can muster you say, “When you were in the 3rd grade, your older sister was playing with sticks in your backyard and accidentally stabbed you.”
He narrows his carmine eyes, “Where?”
“Left breast,” you chirp, “under the nipple.”
Hoseok’s face twists like he’s in the 8th dimension, and he clutches his left breast comically. “You’re either psychic or telling the truth,” he marvels, nearly cracking the bud of chalk in his fingertips.
You fight the urge to sigh in relief, running a hand through your hair. You can’t believe that actually worked.
“Okay so obviously because I need to know my alter-self, what’s Jung Hoseok like in World One?”
“World One?” you snort.
“Yeah, since it’s your home world. This is World Two, because this is your second reality.” He says as if it’s the most obvious thing, waving his hands in the air.
“You’re a rapper and incredible dancer in the world’s top boy band.” and Hoseok doesn’t know whether to think you’re an impeccable actor or really telling the truth by the way you smile so tenderly. “And you managed to get your mom the barbeque restaurant she always wanted. Best place for pork belly wraps.”
And because you know he’s a softie for his mother, you already have a tissue stretched out for him, confirming that you have him convinced. Seeing it all laid out terrifies him, not because he’s scared of someone infiltrating his reality, but because you’re lost. You’re lost and you can’t go home and he can feel like he’s known you all this time. Not because you know every single fact about him under the sun, but something tells him you were meant to find him today.
“So, you got hit by a truck in World One, and end up in World Two just like that?” you nod again, and Hoseok starts to line up whatever code he’s created on the blackboard. “What were you doing before that?”
“I went drinking with my friend Sehlyung.”
“Uh-huh, and before that?”
“Got into a fight with the guy I love.”
“Oh, sorry.”
“Even worse, he ended up being the first person I met once I entered your world.”
Hoseok blinks, “That’s gotta count for something, right?”
Your face sours, “Impossible. Jungkook didn’t recognize me either.”
“Anything else happened that day? Perhaps something to do with the both of you? It can’t just be coincidence,” Hoseok insists, and you almost see the potential theories looming over his head.
Wishing you bought some aspirin on your way, you pinch your brows together. You’ve recollected that night one too many times that it’s been starting to overwhelm you. You hate thinking back to how harshly Jungkook rejected you. How much his words pierced you clean like you were soft and breakable. The twist in the knife was seeing him again in this world, only for him to reject you again for an entirely different reason.
“Wait,” you bite your lip, the final memory from your last conversation with Jungkook resurfacing.
“Maybe in another world, we’d work out. But not this one.”
“He said maybe we’d be together in another world,” you say slowly, the words sinking in your form like a key to a lock.
Hoseok snaps his fingers, a huge white grin beaming on his face. “Shit, this is straight out of the Twilight Zone or something. Cool!”
It’s then that the credits roll for Frozen 2, and the children are pouncing on him like leeches to a sweet treat. They laugh and beg for his attention, teasing him because he said the s-word.
“I’m sure this Jungkook kid has something to do with why you’re here—ow, Haneul! My hair is precious!” Hoseok is busy fending off kids and trying to continue your conversation. He gets up from the tiny chair to prevent them from reaching, and you follow suit. “In the meantime,” he reaches for your phone, typing something, “here’s some books Professor Song recommended to me when I was fascinated in alternate universes. Maybe they’ll help, I don’t know. But good luck, update me when you get a chance! I work here most days.”
“Thanks Hoseok,” and before you can second guess yourself, you find space between the children to wrap your arms around him. Thankfully, he doesn’t push you away, and hugs you back just as tightly. You can’t help it, and bury your face into his shoulder, trying to conceal your sobs. He even smells like World One Hoseok. You miss them.
The rest of your afternoon is spent in the library, searching for book after book regarding the supernatural and other phenomena. A little part of you hoped Hoseok would join you in your navigation, but he had a job and you had yours. He already offered you an ear and much, much more.
You feel a little stir-crazy, despite the fact that these books could contain important information, only Jungkook’s words seem to register in your brain.
“Maybe in another world, we’d work out. But not this one.”
You groan, stretching out your back so you could reach the final book out of Hoseok’s recommendations. You blush when your joints complain about your lack of exercise and sudden exertion of physical activity. This last one just so happens to be on the highest possible shelf. There’s really no need to have more than five books on supernatural phenomena, but you’re already here and it’s vermillion red cover is taunting you like a bull to its matador.
Fuck it. Making sure no librarians are watching, you hop on the first shelf, heels dangling in the air. You could climb trees like it was nothing when you’re a child, but ten years later you can feel all the joints in your body protest at the sudden bout of athleticism.
Alas, even with the added height you can barely reach the top, fingers brushing over the hardcover. You’re starting to sweat with nerves, thankful for the whirring of the icy air conditioner. With a sigh you attempt to climb on the next highest shelf, until the familiar smell of detergent and florals invades your personal space. Even his scent is the same.
“Y’know, there’s a help desk for a reason.”
Your shoulders slump as Jungkook wordlessly instructs you to get down from the shelf. You feel the warmth of his palm shadow your back, not touching you but prepared to in the event you slip and fall. With a cross of your arms, you hug your books to your chest, refusing to make eye contact as he retrieves the book for you. Call it being petty, or overly defensive because of past events, but you’re not ready to talk to Jungkook right now.
Conversely, Jungkook is piqued. He’s lived here for the past six years and it’s the first time he’s seen you in this library. Twice in the span of two weeks is definitely something worth noting, especially when his new co-worker just so happens to be friends with you.
In fact he’s excited, curious. He just entered the library, dropping off some proofs for his graduate school’s office when he spotted you in the corner of one of the shelves, determined. Something warm and light brings a smile to his face when he sees how endearing you look trying to get that too-high book. Despite the fact that he’s still on the fence about your sanity, he wants to make sure you don’t almost-die a second time from head injury.
“Here ya go,” He easily grabs the book and Jungkook is prepared to plop the book in your pile, but you’re hugging the others so tightly that he has to wedge it between two other ones.
You press your lips together as Jungkook goes into your personal space, miffed that you’re being a little defensive. After all, you’re embarrassed from the last time you saw him and you’re heart is beating wildly, confused over the man in front of you. It takes a wiggle before you concede, letting him tuck the red novel between two other larger books.
“Thanks,” you mumble, nodding at him once before swiftly turning the corner, skirt swishing.
The smile on his face is wiped clean when you don’t even bother to spare him a little eye contact.
“Hey, wait up!” he exclaims, and he’s immediately shh’ed by at least five students and an angry librarian. He deflates, giving sheepish bows as he walk-runs after you.
He feels like the tables have turned, now he’s the one chasing after you. Should he apologize for leaving you on the sidewalk two weeks ago? Should he offer to hold your books, or drive you home? Maybe not drive you home, because he brought his bike today and he fears that you may be traumatized by the fact that you almost ate pavement under his wheels. If he has to ease into it, maybe he could offer his phone number up as compensation for accidentally almost-killing you? Suggest that his number is for you to contact him as an IOU. Smooth.
You look over your shoulder briefly, suppressing a groan as Jungkook makes it painfully obvious that this is not the end of your interaction. He’s boring into you, looking past you and his eyes are dark with information. As much as you want to know what’s going on in his mind, seeing Hoseok and Jungkook within the same hour is wholly overwhelming, especially when you just laid your whole life story out to Hoseok in a daycare.
He’s now staring holes in your back as you hand over your books and work identification to the unsuspecting librarian, who chalks up your awkwardness between two friends toeing around a relationship. To the unsuspecting eye, it’s not out of the ordinary. You can’t just tell Jungkook to “kindly fuck off because I’m still processing your existence” because he’s really done nothing wrong. Inevitable, you let him heat your skin with his imploring eyes until he starts to squirm like a garden snake. He’s waiting for you, silently begging you to turn your head and acknowledge how hard his brain is working right now. This boy is always after attention.
Finally, you spare him. “Yes?” you say softly, keeping your focus on the bookkeeper checking you out as Jungkook hovers over your form.
“Uh,” he scratches his head, searching for words, “are you hurt? Y’know, from the other day?”
“Judging from the way I was prepared to climb the shelves, no,” you stuff the books in your tote bag, “are you hurt?”
“Uh, no.”
“Okay. That’s good.” You brush past him, making it a blatant point to stride out the first door you see.
Even with all the telltale signs, Jungkook continues to feel something. An urge, a bell, something. He doesn’t know what, but he’s compelled to follow you. For a small thing you sure know how to walk, and he has to pump his legs a little to catch up with your speedy form.
He follows you to the middle of the campus courtyard, where students are lounging about and studying or playing football. It’s already starting to turn dark, and the orange sky sits impatiently on your bodies as you try to walk as fast as possible to your apartment.
“Hey—hey, c’mon!” his long legs manage to get close enough to you, but he has to halt as soon as you stop, whipping around to glare at him.
Jungkook stumbles as you’re centimeters away from him, visibly annoyed. You’re super close, impossibly close to him. He holds his breath, fearing he’d fan your face and you wouldn’t appreciate his chicken-salad breath. He doesn’t understand why you’re upset, but he wants to jab a thumb between your brows and even out the adorable expression that pinches your visage.
“What, do you need something from a stranger?” you bite icily, and he doesn’t understand the pang in his chest when you refer to each other as strangers. It’s true, you are, but you don’t have to be so harsh about it.
“I, I just want to know why you knew my name,” he replies weakly, hands going up as if he committed a crime. “Back then, I’ve been confused ever since,” it’s wholly innocent, and genuine, “I just wanted to know if you’re okay, I guess?”
It’s then you soften, melting like the yolk in the sky. The strap of your bag digs in your palm, the leather probably indenting your skin.
“I got really drunk last night,” you concede, and at the very least it’s the truth, “probably woke up drunk too. I stumbled outside and when I saw you, and mistook you for another Jungkook I know.”
You’re pulling this excuse out of your ass, and you hope that someone watching you from above (or below) will give you a reprieve on this one. He seems to believe this notion, probably used to one too many drunk girls fawning over him half-sane.
“Another Jungkook?” he balks, mouth parting like a baby kitten, “a Jungkook with the same name and face?”
“Uh kinda, like Mario and Wario?” you say, and you know Jungkook will get the reference if he remains a video game lover, “what’s that called, doppelgangers?”
“I’m partial to Luigi and Waluigi, but I get it.” he replies with a small smile, proud to have gotten you to open up, even a little. “That’s cool. I’m sorry for freaking out back there.”
“Understandable,” you look at the grass crunching at your feet. You definitely understood, but it still hurt recollecting the way he pushed you off of him like a bug. “I’m sorry for mistaking you, I just kinda stumbled out of an apartment and got walking, I thought I was in a dream or something.”
“So uh, where’s this other Jungkook?” and it’s an innocent enough question, and he’s almost boyish about it, rocking back and forth with his hands in his jeans. “I’ve always wanted to meet my own twin, I just didn’t expect them living in Korea and having the same name. That’s like a two for one deal!”
You wince, avoiding the way Jungkook tries to bend down to match your eyes. “He’s uh, not around anymore. Completely gone,” you mutter.
Completely gone? Did that mean the person you were worrying about on the streets, the person who you worried over so thoughtfully in place of Jungkook, is dead?
Jungkook puffs out a breath of air, running a hand through his hair. Boy, does he feel like a piece of shit for bringing up tough memories. “I’m so sorry,” he gushes, voice cracking as he tries to get you to lift your head, “I was just being nosy, alright? The fact that you knew my name freaked me out and I couldn’t stop thinking about it. And when I saw you in the library I pounced but I realize that this is such a huge mistake and—”
“Jungkook,” you hold up a hand, a twinge of a smile barely grazing your lips, “I already told you, it’s understandable you would’ve been freaked out. Don’t blame yourself,” you size him up a little, looking up and down and he automatically straightens his back. He feels his ears heat beneath his hair, “but you look like the type of guy to be too hard on himself.”
He laughs, nodding profusely, “So I’ve been told.” Feeling lighter at the assurance of your feelings, he sticks out his hand, “then can we call a truce?”
It’s then you see it.
“Tiger lilies,” you marvel, hands reaching out instinctively to touch the tattoo adorning his arm. It’s the same design, same position, the dark ink vibrant as ever.
“It’s my birth flower,” he puffs out his chest a bit, feeling elated that someone appreciates the fine art he spent weeks drafting. Tattoos aren’t particularly popular in this area, so he can’t help but feel a little cheeky that someone’s attracted to them. He watches the way your eyes sparkle over the black ink, the most positive emotion he’s gotten out of you since meeting. “Tiger lilies, they mean—”
“Please love me,” you finish, letting go of his arms so it drops to his side. You finally look up at him, and your eyes prick.
He looks so much like him, it hurts. Seeing Hoseok and Namjoon also pained you considerably, but nothing compared to how much it ached to have Jungkook around, vying for your attention. How well you knew his body, and how much you wish you could hug him. Today he’s even dressed a little similarly to how you’re used to, soft and comfortable in black sweats and a Carhartt hoodie. But this Jungkook isn’t scarred by the industry, and it fills the curiosity that plagued you for days on end. Your Jungkook is always vibrant, but the one in front of you is radiant. He’s young, eager, and ready to take on the world.
Jungkook grins, impressed by your knowledge. He wonders about your birth flower, and whether you have it tattooed somewhere on your body. “Is that your birth flower too?” he asks, debating on whether or not it’s too late to ask you out for coffee because evening is approaching. Maybe dinner was more appropriate? But it would be like a date? Maybe pizza or McDonalds to keep it casual?
You see the gears turning in his head, and you feel like you’ve wasted too much time thinking. “Ah, no,” you flounder, rapidly shaking your head, “just some random information I’ve picked up.”
“Are you into flower meanings?” he tilts his head.
“Not particularly,” you say ominously, and you try not to ache when he seems disheartened at your lack of elaboration, “but I will be. I’ll see you around, Jungkook.”
You can tell he has more to say, especially because Jungkook is one to finish what he starts. But you can’t give him that satisfaction now, not when you’re onto something. You spare him a wave over your shoulder, not wanting to see the disappointment in his face when you leave him in the dust for a second time.
And with that unpromised promise, you go back into the direction of your apartment. You have some extensive research to do tonight.
•━━━━━━»•»💮💮💮«•«━━•••
W1.
Jungkook wakes up to the sun, and he bolts up in his bed.
“Hey!” he yells to no one in particular, knowing his voice is loud enough to echo throughout the dorm. “Why did no one call me? We had practice!”
Instead of passing out in the studio he’s wrapped up in his sheets, bundled comfortably as if he’s been in bed for hours. He’s almost disoriented, looking around the room and waiting for someone to barge in and tell him to hurry up and get somewhere.
After working on his music, the seven of them were supposed to meet up. The plan was to take a nap from ten to eleven, and be at the studio to go over some modifications to a new setlist. However, those plans evidently did not go through, because he had a full night’s sleep for the first time in weeks and that only happens if there’s a schedule cancellation or vacation.
He feels particularly antsy because he couldn’t work on anything last night. His mind was like tunnel vision, completely filled by visions of you and last night’s fight. It’s frustrating, especially when there’s so much he’s behind on already.
But today’s a new day. He takes his time in his room, popping out all his joints and doing leg and arm stretches on his mattress. For once, no one’s ushering him away to do the nth task. He mindlessly scrolls his phone, taking note of the insistence for him to return to social media but pins it away for yet another promise of next time.
Mindlessly clicking his phone button on and off, his wallpaper shows a picture of your back facing the sunset. An old, innocent picture that could be mistaken for a random shot Jungkook stole on an empty night in Dongdaemun. With a sigh he throws his phone somewhere between the sheets, rubbing his eyes. There’s nothing he can do now but move forward, and he takes that in stride.
But when he walks out of his room, the air feels terse. It’s strange, as if he could cut through the tension in the room with a butterknife.
He looks on in confusion to see all the other members settled in the living room, hovered over their phones. They’re all still in their clothes from last night as well, grave expressions on their faces.
Someone’s choked sobs are echoing from a corner of the room, and Jungkook is worried when he sees Taehyung sobbing in Hoseok’s arms.
“What happened?” he asks, brows knitting together as he walks over to Namjoon, looking over his phone.
Namjoon immediately presses his phone to his chest, concealing whatever is on the screen. Jungkook’s heart pangs at his block, because Namjoon isn’t one to hide things.  He’s feeling cut out of a secret so deep that it must be either a secret, or something he shouldn’t see. “It’s,” he takes a deep breath, and Jungkook feels it. He feels that whatever Namjoon has to say is going to be hard.
Seokjin speaks up for the leader, bright eyes that always spark like fireworks now dim. “We got a call from Sehlyung early this morning. Before it got light out she—she was frantic. She said Camille wasn’t answering her calls after they went drinking.”
No. No.
“Then BigHit got a call from the hospital. They said a truck hit the curb, knocking her clean,” it doesn’t even sound like Seokjin’s speaking, just the shell of him, regurgitating information. “She’s alive, but it’s critical, no one’s allowed to see her until she’s stable. We don’t know when,” Seokjin bites his lip, choosing his words carefully, “or if, she’ll wake up.”
Jungkook doesn’t even register that he’s crying until Seokjin pulls him into his arms.

‘hope world’: numbers and figures
i love HW (and hobi, henceforth, for statistical purposes, i’ll refer as j-hope) so much i needed to put its basic stats together in one place for a good glance like this. the fact that he took three years (2015-2018) to record HW shows how much thought and intent went into the whole process. the achievements HW made in its debut year alone prove that this mixtape is of quality and that j-hope has much talent, calibre and potential as an artiste in writing, producing, recording and performing. his dance foundation and background make up the theoretical framework of this mixtape that gives it its cohesive structure, making it more of a concept (mini) album than a mixtape, in my humble opinion.
there are three things about HW the mixtape that impress me. first, that j-hope had a hand in aspects of its production beyond just writing and performing; he played the keyboard and synthesizer, did vocal and rap arrangements and was also one of its recording engineers (see individual song credits). it shows the extent of his personal endeavour to learn and be as fully involved as he possibly could in the entire experience of producing this work and how he did not leave it to privilege (since he had an experienced production team with him, he could have easily let them do the groundwork) or even chance.
next is how the variety and range of genres - hip hop, jazz/bebop, reggae, rap, among others - transition themselves smoothly within a single song (e.g. ‘P.O.P’, ‘daydream’, ‘hope world’) and across the album. HW is not quite a compilation of bits and pieces in isolation of one another because of how methodical it is in its concoction, evident in the smooth mix and transition of genres in the album. i’m guessing this is mostly due to j-hope’s dance experience and expertise, as mentioned earlier. the album is a curated collection meant for performance and the flow of tempo and beats from one track to another reflects what it would look like if j-hope were to do his HOTS sessions to his album. HW shows j-hope’s skilful versatility as an artiste and a performer. he is not just a jack-of-all-trades type of versatile either; he had a solid vision of what he wanted in this album and what he wanted to put across, as a dancer and a rapper-singer and it showed clearly. his MVs for ‘daydream’ and ‘airplane’ further prove this and i really wish he had made MVs for the rest of his songs such as ‘P.O.P’ and ‘hope world’. in my opinion, dance-focused MVs for ‘baseline’ and ‘HANGSANG’ would have been the icing and, a freestyle feature in each, would be the cherry on top. imagine the visual treat the entire album potentially has as a live performance, where we all know, j-hope is stellar in.
lastly, and certainly not the least, HW also shows that j-hope does not write and produce for recording on a CD (or digital audio file) to be listened to only. he thinks about how the songs would sound, look and feel like in performance because songs are meant to be performed to an audience. this is why at times he reminds me of freddie mercury and MJ (i love them too so pardon me, i cannot help the personal opinion and comparison) in their creative process of production and performance, with purposeful and intelligent experimentation of ideas, sounds and concepts but never compromising on quality and overall musical experience.
with his talent, youth, potential and above all, unrelenting dedication, industry and tenacity, I honestly believe j-hope will only further refine and finesse his artistry and his works to a highly polished level. i am looking forward to more of his works and especially his next album.
note to self: i will have to revisit this and do a slightly more in-depth analysis of HW with a set criteria and i think lin manuel miranda's list of basics i.e. flow, order and authenticity seems like a good one. KIV till after a few entries.

Black people I am amazingly thankful for
This is supposed to be like a list of black people that helped make my childhood and adulthood awesome. This is not supposed to take away from any situation that is happening, that’s not my intention. I just wanna celebrate some people.  Now, in no particular order.  1. Phill Lewis aka Mr Moseby, this man is amazing. He was of course in Suite Life of Zack and Cody and Suite Life On Deck. He played the manager of the hotel, could have easily been written as a throwaway character, token black guy but no. They made this man have the finest suits, have a feminine side that he is very in touch with and smooth about(the baseball game scene where he says “I was the only guy in a room filled with girls” or something along those lines is awesome), on that note a wonderful dancer and singer. But most importantly, he was like a father figure to so many characters, most notably London and Nia but also to Zack, Cody, Maddie sometimes. That was a series I could gush about all day, especially the episode about Hugh Mulzac and how the education system suppresses black stories in history, like if that came out today people would call it “sjw bullshit” but I loved that growing up and I still love it, I’m rewatching it right now. So I’m beyond thankful for Phill Lewis, also he was in Heathers which no one credits enough and I like Heathers.  2. Corey Dorris from Team Starkid, I love starkid and there’s memes on my blog about them. They are all so incredibly talented and make musical theatre accessible and just wow I love them so much. My favourite performance of Corey Dorris is in their most recent production Black Friday, whilst his role isn’t amazingly huge, his performance is. Please listen to Our Doors Are Open from Black Friday, that song feels like your listening to how honey tastes.  3. James Tolbert from Team Starkid, so here’s the thing bout James, he’s rather new to Starkid but he’s somehow able to do choreography, acting, singing and dancing(I know it comes under choreography but this man can DANCE). Absolutely incredible. Please watch Black Friday to understand what I’m talking about.  4. Britney Coleman from Starkid honestly okay she can sing amazingly, like she plays Bellatrix in the AVPM series and oh wow she’s incredible. Like listen to When you have to go all the way home from a very potter senior year. Her voice is the most powerful I’ve ever heard. It’s so beautiful and would not be the same without her.  I’m beginning to think this might go into a different theme if I just consistently mention starkid actors but I do love all of starkid and I could gush about all of them but I feel like a video someone else made sums it up better:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9jzfngJ7AnU here you go, please watch that, show them all some love.  5. Will Smith, James Avery, Janet Hubert, Alfonso Ribeiro, Karyn Parsons, Tatyana M. Ali, Joseph Marcell, Daphne Maxwell Reid, Ross Bagley aka the cast of the fresh prince of bel-air. Excellent show, I loved it growing up and still love it now. I remember seeing Will play basketball when I was a kid and just feeling a sorta calling to it and that actually helped me with my depression during high school. The fact that the star of the show, someone who I looked up to when I was little, now has a family that defends each other as strongly as they are right now makes me so happy and proud? almost? But of course the show itself was amazing, brought up important issues and there’s more than just Will involved so I’m thankful for them all.  6. Living Colour - they did the song Cult of Personality which is an amazing anthem of a song with both an epic guitar solo and badass political statement. Whilst it’s only really that song I like by them, they’re the ones to thank for it. So I’m thankful for them. Lowkey think that song should get the same amount of praise as stuff like American Idiot by Green Day or The Anthem by Good Charlotte just a thought.  7. Snoop Dogg...which yes I know sounds weird considering how anti drugs and anti marijuana I am but he did a song with Big Time Rush and a whole christmas special with them. It’s takes a really awesome guy to simultaneously be a well established rapper and to go collab with a nickelodeon boyband so his daughter thinks he’s cool. Like that man is excellent for that.  8. Mercedes Justine Kaestner-Varnado aka Sasha Banks, so I used to be really into wrestling. Really really into WWE and it will always hold a special place in my heart. But this woman has truly revolutionised the company for so many reasons. Most of the time women’s wrestling was eh not for the wrestling and it was sad. There’s also not a lot of black wrestlers that make it very far, so much so that I struggle to remember who they are a lot of the time. But Sasha Banks somehow managed to become and remain a successful wrestler who is taking seriously and earns championships and has amazing matches. She’s also related to Snoop Dogg but that’s not the only thing about her which makes her even more iconic like please stan her and support her she’s incredible.  9. Itzkeisha on youtube which is a much more recent one but I respect someone who can build herself up with genuine talent and passion and use the platform to help people and speak out against stuff and actually researches things that not a lot of people are talking about that also need help.  10. George Floyd. Tragically, police brutality and racism isn’t new. I was in denial about it in the past and I’m sure many were as well. He should not have died and please do not take this as me saying that. However, he is a martyr and more people are listening now, there’s more being done now. His death has lead to a lot and will lead to even more. We’ll get justice for him and all the other victims of murder. Police brutality is murder.  Hopefully obviously these names aren’t the only black people that I admire or respect but these are names that I want people to recognise more. I want to celebrate black people right now, so if there’s a black kid or teenager or adult even reading this please know that although things are scary, and you should be careful, it’s not your destiny to be killed by a cop. You can do great things, here’s a list of people that are also black that have done great things to prove it to you. And even if you’re not successful or your talents aren’t recognised, I still think you’re worth something. I’m white, may have said some wrong things here, if anyone wants me to change anything or correct myself of some stuff please let me know!
