Now that Noah Schnapp is cancelled I’m not afraid to say it: Will Byers is a pathetic loser annoying character and contributed little to the plot of ST. He’s the epitome of a sadboi gaybait twink and I do not care for byler because of this.

I’m starting to hate STSG so much solely for the fact that I cannot consume any content of my faves without them always being brought up or inserted into the conversation in some type of way
I just wanna hyperfixate on Hikara and Itafushi yet the most toxic and unhealthy ship is brought up more in their tags than them themselves

Sign of being terminally online is letting randos ruin your day because you ship something they don't like
Sign of being terminally online is caring very hard about what others ship that you make content for it, ya know? y'all just do you, you know?

[jegulily] worse than jegulus but somehow less annoying idk how to explain it
dude this is so real! like it's hard to explain but it captures those feelings perfectly. like it is worse in a sense that it directly romantically connects an oppressed woman with her oppressor and that's gross, but it's also less annoying because of how fandom acts, they at least try to act like they don't completely erase Lily? I guess? so it's more palatable to 'see' rather than the complete erasure or demonization or downgrading that happens with jegulus, though you can still tell that she's treated like a third wheel and the lesser one in that poly and the only posts you see about the ship not working cause one of them feels like they don't fit in are always about Lily lol. but in the end both still bad in a sorta same way, cause they both only serve one character, Regulus irrelevant Black and that's it, they only exist for one character, cause neither James or Lily or their fans gain anything from these ships, they're both deliriously happy with each other and don't give a flying crap about the new twink of the month and don't 'need' him in their ships. yet still one of those camps is at least trying to fight the misogyny allegations while the other is just blatantly misogynistic.. so like there are layers and levels to the badness and annoyance here lmfao
im literally dying over “regulus irrelevant black” and “new twink of the month” because thats exactly how these new death eater babygirls feel to me all the time and we seriously need to retire the image. and i really said “idk how to explain it” and then you came and explained it perfectly.
it sucks because i do wish there was more love for polyamorous ships in fandom in general but did the popular had to have been jegulily?? youre also completely right about how jegulily shippers (from what i’ve seen) are mostly regulus fans, because the whole ship does seem to center around him in some way. it’s so funny how often lily would feel shoved into the ship absentmindedly when in reality the third wheel would be regulus. and there would be a third wheel in this scenario because canon lily and canon james wouldnt want to touch regulus within a ten foot pole. lily, who dumped her childhood best friend over his prejudices against muggles/muggleborns (that extended years of her having to look the other way) would want to voluntarily put herself in a relationship that could so much as entail the same sort of bullshit. james, who joined a whole ass war to defend the rights of the oppressed and had probs a million bitching sessions with sirius over how shitty his family was (including regulus) would want to date said character? mmm uh huh okay. fanon is getting out of control its time we curb stomp a lot of it.
ive yapped too much too long im not gonna even get into the jegulus part. it makes me too maddddd

I love how wolfstar shippers call remadora toxic as if they don’t make Remus this rude asshole that degrades and is just plain mean to Sirius — like no love,, wolfstar is the toxic one even if it follows their canon characterisations lmao

I'm watching season 5 and 6b of 9-1-1 for the first time (I fell way behind) and it's very....interesting to see what I've already seen on tumblr, what I remember the fandom hating, and what's going on that I had no idea even happened because it never talked about in the tags at all.
Taylor is so not as bad as the fandom makes her out to be. I don't agree with all of her decisions (especially with the Jonah storyline) and her and Buck maybe don't make the best pairing but I like her. And she really was just doing her job with the Jonah thing. Nothing inherently bad about that at all. She reports the news and she never named a source or anything. Just means her and Buck don't make the best match. But Taylor as a character is cool and I like her.
Same with Lucy. She's pretty cool actually. I like her a lot. Why the hell did the fandom hate Lucy so much? I was expecting the bitch from hell based on posts I saw but she did nothing wrong the whole season. She was really great and I hope we see her again. She made good rescues, fit in with the group, wasn't pushy or arrogant, followed Bobby's orders but still voiced her knowledge when necessary. She showed emotions and was humble and fun and kind. Why do you all hate her!? Is it because she and Buck kissed? Once? Mutually? But because she's not Eddie that makes her evil or something? She did nothing like that every again nor did she make Buck feel bad or pressured at all so why do we hate Lucy???? I'm so confused about that.
I'm also seeing that tons of people hate Josh now!?!! HOW!? WHY!? Josh is the best! I love Josh! Is it really for the ONE line he said to Eddie in which he was correct? Eddie was a guest. He's not a dispatcher. And besides it acts as a way to get Eddie to realize he's a firefighter. Josh is amazing and I love him.
And how has this whole ass Jonah storyline just never talked about at all?! He kidnapped Hen and Chim and killed Chimney several times just to bring him back!! He nearly drove Bobby to drink again (I love that scene between Bobby and Eddie when Eddie shows up just as Bobby was thinking about drinking again)!!!! And I saw nothing about it!!!
And how about the surprise Karen/Hen vow renewal! That was beautiful! Saw nothing about it on here.
It's just so very telling of the fandom of what I see on screen versus what the fandom fixates on and how they view things. It just serves as a reminder as to why I need to continue to avoid the 911 tag as much as possible if I want to enjoy the show as much as I do because we are so not on the same page here.

So, why do some people who love Crimson Flower always go on about how the English translation is pure evil? Because they always say that "oh, Treehouse hated Edelgard," but they never do a side-by-side comparison of why the English translaton is significantly more pro-Dimitri and anti-Edelgard (notice who they leave out in that) than the Japanese script.
From what I've seen, it seems to come from early fandom interpretations of 3H saying that it was "mistranslated to make Edelgard look worse" that came from people who, uh. Primarily didn't actually speak Japanese, or otherwise had a fairly severe misunderstanding of it.
You'll see this with pretty much every big-name event that is claimed to have been "mistranslated" in general. The AM parley, the Continue To Kill no u, Faerghus Toxic Masculinity, and "the Dream Interview calls her an antagonist not a villain" are the Big 4 of this thing happening, and all four of them have been thoroughly debunked as nonsense by people who actually speak and understand Japanese. That's probably why the actual MAJORITY of events that get the "this was mistranslated to make Edelgard look worse" card don't actually have that side-by-side comparison you mention (since there's WAY more smaller things that they say this about, for example Dimitri was TOTALLY JOKING with Edelgard during Gronder 1 and TOTALLY WASN'T freaked the fuck out at her "jokes"), because the people who claim this are 0-4 on being correct about this for four of the most important examples of this supposedly happening.
So they'll kinda just say anything is Totally A Mistranslation in the hopes that the English-speaking fandom who for the most part don't speak Japanese will believe them, and through that believe them on what the game is "actually" trying to say. With that being, of course, that Edelgard was completely and utterly right about literally actually factually every single thing she has ever said in the game ever and literally actually factually every single other person who disagrees with her is completely and utterly wrong (unless what they're saying is, of course, in alignment with what Edelgard is saying).
And if anyone who actually knows what they're talking about comes in and corrects them - even nicely! - they'll either go on about how everyone is coming after them (read: people who understand Japanese are correcting someone who doesn't understand Japanese about something that exclusively revolves around understanding Japanese), or they'll accuse that person of being a liar/sexist/homophobic POS who just wants the poor little gay bean that is Edelgard to be pure and utter evil since they totally view all gay women to be pure and utter evil.
All this, from what I can gather, is mostly to serve as a justification as to why they like Edelgard since they view liking her as a villain to be a genuine mark of bad character, for some reason. They want to believe that she's the progressive figure who does everything for the little guy for one reason or another, and so grab for any excuse they can give her they can think of to make their interpretation of her not seem so unfounded against all of the evidence Edelgard provides the player that she really is just an imperialist who doesn't really give a shit about her people if doing so gives even the slightest bump to her goal of forceful unification. All because daring to like villains is just soooo baaaaad lmao

Batfam stans be like "what if we made the kids 'funny'" and then turn them into the meanest little assholes Bruce Wayne has ever spent money and time on- and there are a lot of shitstains in Gotham, you know? And then have the audacity to say that Batman wouldn't clap back and fucking destroy their bloodlines ten generations back because he has never been a doormat no matter the iteration.
Idk the weird hate-boner, veiled-dislike, revenge-porn-but-lowkey-for-appearances, I-want-to-have-my-cake-and-eat-it-too headcanons of this fandom piss me off. It makes no sense to me. Just say you hate Batman, never mention him again in relation to the batfam (bc it's obvious you hate him so the tag turns into a crosstag bc you actually ment anti-bruce wayne- just say you hate him jesus) and move on, don't fucking Tony Stark and the Avengers post Civil war it. It's tacky, it's cringy, it's gross, especially when you like... idk erase the abusive version of batman you're obviously attacking to try and ducktape the family dynamic. ESPECIALLY when you make his trauma responses the butt of every batfam member's joke, because haha trauma funny except when it happens to me. Am I making sense? Idk. Ppl make the batfam members extremely dislikeable and self-centric, pile on all their issues on bruce as if he's not the sole reason they're sane/alive/not suffering/with a home/etc., emasculate batman and call it humor when it's actually a bunch of insensitive jokes that border on ableism/victimblaming. Fair when it's fair, everyone have their sense of humor and coping strats and all, but don't make fun of trauma victims for any reason? Your experience is not really a justification, especially when it can hurt others? I just think that making fun of someone (fictional or not) for seeing their parents die is not on man...

Fandoms will take an average character [that I was previously okay with] and turn them into a woobified kitten. Fandoms start forcing this character down my everyone’s throat and turning them into a completely overrated kitten [making me now hate said character], and actually attacking people who would dare to dislike or not share the same views as them about said character.
This fandom then wonders why those same people don’t care for this woobified overrated character, that people actually go as far as resorting to sending death threats over. Fandoms will also claim that any “hater” is absolutely homophobic/racist/terf/ableist or anti/phobic any other category they think their woobified baby falls under, because people can’t just dislike something that you love without being some kind of phobic…
not sorry to break it to you, but your fandom is actually the reason I dislike your annoyingly overrated baby, so leave me alone about it 🤷🏽‍♀️ and it’s actually pretty fucked up when not even the show, but THE FANDOM is what drives you to hate/dislike something
This exact same process can be applied to ships of a fandom as well.

Normal Batman fans: I don't want to engage with parts of canon in which my fave is an abusive asshole. I choose to engage with other stories instead, and I ignore stories that I dislike.
Nasty toxic Batman fans: Ooh, Bruce is being totally gross again, don't mind if I do~
Good Dad Bruce™ stans: Yes, I fully acknowledge that every single one of Bruce's kids is deeply—at times suicidally—traumatized by his parenting failures in canon, but he is NOT a bad parent! Bruce LOVES his family. Sometimes COMPLICATED PARENTS make their children feel WORTHLESS and ISOLATED, and then don't do anything to fix it! It's totally NATURAL, Bruce is just a COMPLICATED parent! He's COMPLICATED! Bruce LOVES his family. COMPLICATED, I say! NOT ABUSIVE! Would an abusive parent put a hand on his child's shoulder in a vague display of warmth once every few years??? Hm??? Yeah, I DIDN'T THINK SO, YOU STUPID ABUSE VICTIMS!! Bruce LOVES his family. He does nice things—why are you ignoring all the nice things that he's done? He is just an IMPERFECT person, he has made some teeny tiny mistakes repeatedly with 5+ separately acquired children over a twenty-year period. Bruce is just a regular IMPERFECT human being—which means that you critics are the UNREASONABLE MONSTERS imposing PERFECTIONIST standards on a poor innocent middle-aged baby adult man! Bruce LOVES his family. How could we expect exceptionally privileged hyperintelligent parents NOT to regularly use their position of power to make 4-6 children feel inadequate, unsafe, and alone?? What ridiculously high standards! Bruce LOVES his family.
#I hope you impressionable youngsters are learning the warning signs of abusive families and cults during your time in this fandom.#Bruce Wayne hate club#COMPLICATED PARENT BRUCE WAYNE#You know I personally like my own cobbled version of Bruce Wayne too. I like to ignore canon as I please.#But some of you stans work overtime to come up with the cruelest most hurtful insensitive and vomit-inducing IGNORANT opinions about abuse.#So eager to sanitize decades of a grown rich white male hero living his power fantasy on the backs of vulnerable and traumatized kids#--in your zeal to make sure that the world's most popular superhero doesn't suffer a whisper of criticism--#you choose to echo the excuses given to powerful people who use their power to hurt and control smaller people.#'He is complicated—' His behavior is abusive.#'He didn't intend to—' He did something abusive.#'But he LOVES his family!' He is an abusive piece of shit and he needs to do better.#'Well he is just an imperfect human—' Nobody is asking him to be perfect. Not everyone perpetuates abuse and refuses to change.#'But you have to understand that he had a very terrible childhood.' Every single one of his kids has had an inarguably worse childhood.#'Hm. That version of Bruce really is an abusive asshole. My homebrew isn't and he wouldn't do that.' DING DING DING! WINNER WINNER! 🥳👑👑👑#'Bruce is an abusive asshole. He is the perfect meow meow for my fiction about toxic families and dark themes.' YES. YOU WIN. 💗👏👏👏😘😘😘#IMPERFECT PARENT BRUCE WAYNE#negativity#fandom discourse#anti Bruce Wayne#child abuse mention cw#The funny thing is that this blog discusses Jason Todd the most but I'd say he probably suffered the least abuse.#At least he's a villain. What is Bruce's excuse for the way he mistreats and neglects the others?

(Don't like don't read. Post hate and I'll block you)
Rick accidentally creates a books series that has way more incest than the vc andrews books like flowers in the attic. Than he back tracks so hard because he was afraid of angry parents, and wanted his books to sell. But in a way that makes no sense and honestly is super obvious that hes making shit up to please angry parents and people to stop asking questions. To bad Rick the pandora's box was already opened.

Rings of Power stans keep whining and whinging about Tolkien purists and general fans of his books and Peter Jackson films but as soon as someone critiques Rings of Power, no matter how valid and calm the criticism, they collectively have an aneurysm because someone doesn't like their dumpster fire of an adaptation. It's fine if you want to bootlick Amazon and enjoy trash television, but can you at least stop harassing and bullying people and grow a spine for once?

Can Everyone Kindly Shut Up About Sasuke Attacking Sakura?
I’ve been vocal about my distaste for SasuSaku, but when I see stupid, I say stupid. The stupid thing on today’s menu is: “Sakura married Sasuke even after he tried to kill her three times!!!”
I’ll keep this relatively short because I don’t think this should be too difficult to understand. To put it simply:
Judging Sasuke’s relationships and how he’d act in a relationship based on his lowest point is asinine.
During the Five Kage Summit, Sasuke attacked Sakura. He also attacked Karin (someone he stayed in a dangerous situation and unlocked a new ability to save), Kakashi (someone he was formerly shown to respect the judgement and skill of), and Naruto (someone he nearly died trying to save). Deciding that Sasuke (who just had his worldview collapse and was quickly spiraling mentally because he didn’t know what to do with all he learned and felt) suddenly didn’t care about or even hated all of those characters because he attacked them for either getting in his way or attacking him first is the type of mental gymnastics that’ll get you into the Olympics.
If you want an idea of what he’d be like in a relationship, look at him in part 1 before he got the curse mark or him after his fight with Naruto, that’s the closest we’re gonna get.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: I don’t care what what you ship. However, don’t expect people like me to take you seriously when you choose to judge what’s “healthy” in a fictional world about child soldiers regularly participating in kidnapping, torture, murder, and terrorism based on the standards of real life. Delve into the implications or realistic consequences all you want, but don’t expect people to do the same or try to guilt/insult/force others into doing the same. Especially over something that’s supposed to be as lighthearted as shipping.

Just feeling a little salty so I want to throw a thought out into the universe...
Has anyone ever considered that when you make your entire online personality about being anti something - by filling your blog with anti tags, or actively searching out posts/blogs to publicly berate - that you just look like a sore loser?
