one thing elvis always knew about you is that you were too good to be true.

the first thing people notice about you is your beauty, you probably don't fit on those stupid standards — because you are the standard. everyone wants to be you or to be with you. girls try to copy your gracious moves, your cheerful laughter, your doe eyes and your adorable smile. boys wanted to kiss those pinkish lips, to hold those soft hands and to smell your perfume in their pillows after a night.

and elvis wasn't the exception. but what made the difference from those people to him is that he really loves you.

he loves your imperfections, how you sometimes get so angry you feel like breaking something in half or when you throw a tantrum and someone (anyone) tries to comfort you. and he doesn't care about that.

you want to break something? break his heart.

you want to scream at someone? scream at him.

you want to be a brat? be his brat.

be his everything.

“ goodbye! ”

your cheerful voice woke elvis from his daydreaming state.

both of you were walking on a park and this was the fiftieth time you rejected someone, he swears.

you laugh in response, taking some hair out of your face. “ yeah. but... what can i do? ”

you can tell me it annoys you and i will solve it. — that's what elvis tries to say before getting interrupted again. now, it's a girl dragging her brother who seemed too shy to talk to you. elvis rolls his eyes.

elvis' career skyrocketed after the louisiana hayride. and he loved it.

not only could he buy his mama a pink cadillac. but he could buy you anything you wanted.

now that he was this big thing, one of the things the colonel advised him not to do was to be seen with a girl as it was bad for showbusiness. elvis had to do some... convincing.

“ colonel, if i'm seen with these girl, i promise ya', my sales will never be more higher. ”

“ boy, no girl has ever do that. ”

“ yet. ”

and after showing the colonel one of the many photos he took of you (in secret), his manager accepted. sensing this to be a clever market strategy from the rising rock star.

just like you were the living image of aphrodite, he was the living image of apollo. such an amazing soldier fighting for what he wants. and what he wants, is you.

so imagine how big his victory smile is as he grabs a newspaper, you and him laughing inside a store; you holding some candy while elvis carries some bags from different stores, with the headline saying:

ELVIS PRESLEY IN LOVE?

oh yes. you could say that.

what elvis didn't anticipated was for you to get calls from different record companies, movie companies, modeling agencies, you name it! everyone wanted you!

not only were you elvis presley's girlfriend (as the press suspects) but you were absolutely beautiful with a sparkling aura surrounding you.

and elvis wasn't pleased with this.

“ doll, they getting you because you're known for being my girl. ”

“ so what? a job is a job! ” you jokingly said, turning around to face yourself on the mirror; clearly missing elvis' stern gaze behind you.

“ besides. ”

elvis clears his throat, sitting on your bed, your pillows comforting him somehow.

“ it's not like that's real. they just don't know we are the bestest of friends. ” you exclaimed with enthusiasm at your plan taking place. elvis wasn't that enthusiastic.

but there's where his best ideas born.

“ but what if they find out? can't they sue you? ”

at the word 'sue' leaving his mouth, you stop applying lipstick, looking at him worried.

“ what? can they do that? ”

now. elvis could just laugh it off and tell you that wasn't possible, that he was joking.

where's the fun in that, though?

“ yeah, obviously. ” he sighs, standing up while shaking his head in a disapproval manner, grabbing your face with his hands. �� this is why we should stick together. i don't care if you want to pose naked, i'll be there, my love. but we should really care about... laws in business. ”

you surprisingly believe every word he says, your eyes full of fear of getting sued by some famous company.

“ you're right. ” you shake your head with a laugh, turning around to hug him. “ oh, elvis. you saved me. ” you laugh, closing your eyes into the hug clearly missing elvis' wicked smile.

“ that's why i'm here for, aren't i? ”

️from there, it was easier for elvis to convince you to stay close to him.

“ they saw you with me, they may be overpriced or something, i should go with you to tell them it's not right. ”

“ no, you see, if we wear matching clothes, they might think we're family. they might leave you alone. ”

“ in Graceland i could truly protect you, no one could touch you there. not even fans. ”

“ don't mind what the colonel said, doll, i am NOT obsessed. that's ridiculous. it's being obsessed being worried about your goddamn well being? well in that case, maybe i am! ”

it was better not to doubt elvis intention it's what you came to realize.

he is the star, after all.

your real downfall was when elvis had to be in Germany.

“ i just-... i will miss you. what am i gonna do without my best friend. ” you muttered the last part to yourself. elvis' heart cracked a bit at the word 'best friend', thought by now he would evolve to 'boyfriend'.

“ i'm really sorry, doll. ”

you just kissed his cheek and hugged him, your hand in his stomach, your cheek pressed to his chest with a pout in your eyes. the both of you looking at the fireplace.

Gladys' sobs could still be heard from her room.

when elvis got shipped to Germany, everything went from bad to worse.

after gladys' died, you stayed at Graceland; at elvis request, to manage it. to be it's homewife in some way.

vernon was a fun company, he knew what elvis stories to tell you so you wouldn't miss him that much. he would even show you some pictures from the family album.

but you couldn't help to still miss him.

you've grown so attached to him these last months, you couldn't think of how to do all of those mundane things without him.

it's not even that you just didn't want to. you really couldn't.

was it the cereal he chose, the green one or the blue one?

was the napkins he bought from these company... or these one?

or is it these one?

“ miss, do you need anything? ”

you turn to see an employer, looking at you with a soft smile until you turned, his eyebrows raised and his eyes started to shine. you return the smile, already used to people doing that expression.

“ no, thank you. ”

you turned around again, taking a random cereal and leaving it on the cart before moving. you weren't really on the mood to deal with boys that want your number. you just wanted elvis, for God's sake. was it really a bad thing to perform what he wanted? was it really bad for him to go against the colonel? why dancing is a forbidden fruit now?

you could feel the tears growing in your eyes, your bottom pink lip trembling as you walk faster to the register.

you also realized you couldn't even go to the street alone without elvis by your side.

everyone tried to engage in a long conversation, in the middle of the street, with sun rays beaming in your face. if the heat wasn't enough for you to get upset, their annoying faces were.

he caught up that you weren't talking to him so while you were getting ready for bed, nightgown flowing in your body with your hair all ready, you heard a knock. to which you didn't answer to. vernon always knocked three times.

elvis velvety voice made an appearance inside your room, you with your back against the door just sighed.

“ hey, baby. ”

you rolled your eyes, putting on your cream.

elvis just gulped, walking to you with a small smile. “ you haven't given me a big hug. ”

i don't give a fuck — is what you wanted to say.

elvis paused, looking at the ground, regretting what he almost said.

you scoffed, putting your cream down.

you were expecting elvis to sigh and say you are brat, a bitch, a dumb girl, a jealous weirdo. you sure weren't expecting him to kneel and grab your legs, pushing you closer to him, his face in your thighs; your nightgown lifting a bit.

“ 'm sorry. i don't know what i did... but, really, i am sorry. ”

you stood there surprised, your hands in the air as elvis sniffed.

“ is it because i went away from you? i promise doll, that will never happen again. i will never leave you- i will be utterly devoted to you. ”

“ e-elvis. ” you whispered, shocked at what he was saying, holding his hands trying to make him look at you but he was strong and stubborn.

HI HI HELLO

i meant to answer this earlier but then i got really distracted and then Spicy Brain happened </3 that's ok tho

ANYWAY okay i've talked a lot about the void-walkers and i have told you much about them but i have never given a concise summary of some of the void-walker characters i have so far so i will do that here <3

Asher King (she/they/it) is a void-walker from the 1700s who lived and died in the golden age of piracy. She's pretty dour and a bit mean-spirited, but ultimately she means well. Also she is just bursting with transfem swag. In modern day, Asher is generally the most confident and, in many ways, the most competent in general of the main trio. I haven't developed them quite as much as the others and I feel a bit bad about it, but they are very important to me!

One thing I've been thinking about with Asher especially is the prospect of her power to temporarily nullify the abilities of other void-walkers. There's a lot of potential there. Though I think her main use of it would be limiting the powers of her friends if said powers are overwhelming (i.e. turning off Juno's mind reading before they have to walk through a crowd of people).

Apollo Presley (he/it) is a void-walker who died and was revived in the 1980s, 1984 specifically, and he's a bit of a funky lad! Very sweet, though. He was probably in his early 20s when he died, and as such he's kind of the baby of the main trio (and also because Juno and Asher both have over 100 years on him). However, I don't say that to infantilize him! Apollo is incredibly headstrong and has a bright, strong spirit. He's an incredibly nice person, but he isn't afraid to stand up for himself or others and isn't the type to back down from a fight, for better or for worse.

This has bitten Apollo in the ass more than once, as he doesn't really have the brawn to back up his smart mouth or headstrong personality. His powers also aren't much of a help most of the time, but he's found ways to make his telekinesis really work for him.

Juno London (they/he/it) is a void-walker who died and was revived in the late 1800s, in June of 1899. They keep their past mysterious for the most part, but they lived out west with their four children before they became a void-walker. What happened afterwards, they don't like to talk about. What Juno WILL talk about, though, is their work as a a ghost hunter, though they'd never use that term. Juno travels around in search of spirits who, for one reason or another, haven't moved on to whatever afterlife awaits them, and they try to talk these spirits through whatever trauma they've experienced, to make the transition either.

However, Juno is far from gentle in their approach most of the time. They're rude, sharp-tongued, and a little crass, and they don't give a shit what anyone thinks of them. A lot of spirits seem to appreciate the fact that Juno rarely sugarcoats anything, though. Their goal isn't to pretend the spirits aren't dead, but to help them come to terms with their new reality.

Perhaps this is because Juno still has yet to fully accept their own new reality, but that's neither here nor there.

Part 1 - breaking down Faith's thread on why non-believers should believe.

Here's one of my favourite recent threads from crazy Faith.

Unfortunately I'm blocked by Faith on twitter for previously questioning their threads, so hopefully she sees this and tries to argue back some of my counter points, since she's apparently a lawyer!

Before I analyse each tweet with my critical thinking brain, I'll preface my words with this...

This Twitter thread exhibits several red flags that raise concerns about its credibility and objectivity. Whilst Faith frames their arguments as critical questions (objection, leading), the overall tone and content suggest a strong bias towards validating Larry rather than engaging in genuine sceptical inquiry.

Whether Larry is real or not isn't the issues here, Larry can be real and all of Faith's utter bullshit drivel can still be confirmation bias crap that has no evidence to back up her extensive 'research'. Since neither party has outright said that Larry is in fact real, everything mentioned here without evidence is speculation.

With that out of the way... Let's break down some key issues.

Question number 1:

Faith argues that the persistence of the "Larry" rumour over 14 years lends it credibility. However, the endurance of a claim does not inherently make it true. Many baseless conspiracy theories have persisted for decades despite a lack of substantive evidence.

Let's critically examine this tweet:

Bias: Faith assumes that the longevity of the rumor is indicative of its truth, without providing evidence to support this claim. They also appeal to the authority of Elton John's quote without considering its relevance or context, or even if it's real. I couldn't find any source for this quote, just that it's widely used in the Larrie fandom, and that worries me about the validity of it.

Inconsistencies: Faith does not acknowledge that some rumours, even if untrue, can persist for long periods due to various factors such as celebrity status, media attention, or the sensational nature of the claim. Examples of these are:

1. The "Paul is Dead" rumour: This rumour, which claims that Paul McCartney of The Beatles died in 1966 and was replaced by a look-alike, has circulated since the late 1960s. Despite numerous denials and evidence to the contrary, the rumour still persists in some circles.

2. The "Avril Lavigne is dead and has been replaced by a body double" rumor: The rumour that has been around since before one direction was formed, and sill exists today:

3. The "Elvis Presley is alive" rumor: Since Elvis Presley's death in 1977, there have been persistent rumors claiming that he faked his own death and went into hiding. Despite overwhelming evidence confirming his death, these rumors still surface from time to time.

4. The "moon landing was faked" rumor: Conspiracy theories alleging that the Apollo moon landings were faked have been around since the late 1960s. Despite abundant evidence and scientific analysis proving the landings were real, these rumors continue to be propagated by some individuals.

I could recount more, such as Tupac is still alive, MJ is still alive, but this thread is going to be huge so I'll leave it there.

These examples demonstrate that the longevity of a rumor does not necessarily correlate with its truth. Rumors can persist for various reasons, such as the fame of the individuals involved, the sensational nature of the claims, or the desire to believe in alternative narratives. It is crucial to rely on evidence and facts rather than the duration of a rumor when assessing its credibility.

Logical fallacies:

1. Appeal to tradition: Faith suggests that because the rumour has persisted for 14 years, it must be true.

2. Hasty generalization: They imply that because most celebrity rumors are short-lived, this one must be true since it has lasted longer.

3. False dichotomy: Faith presents only two options - either rumors are temporary or they are true - without considering other possibilities.

Counter-argument:

The longevity of a rumour does not necessarily indicate its veracity. Many factors can contribute to a rumour's persistence, such as the celebrity status of the individuals involved, the sensational nature of the claim, or the media's continued attention. The fact that this particular rumour has lasted 14 years does not automatically make it true, as there are examples of long-standing rumours that have been debunked or remain unsubstantiated. 2. Argument from ignorance: The tweet asserts that because Harry claims he hasn't been publicly with anyone, it must mean he is secretly in a relationship with Louis, without providing evidence to support this conclusion.

Counter-argument:

Logical fallacies:

Wednesday frowned at Yoko’s text. She wondered, briefly, who “your bitch” could ever be—unbidden, your grinning face came to mind, shining bright as a dying star. Wednesday hated it. It was stuff like this, knowing that your friends would ask Wednesday, of all people, to come pick you up, that was intolerable. Always popular yet with a genuine charm, you commanded attention wherever you were, so warm and dazzling that you eclipsed everything around you. You consistently crossed the line with Wednesday, since you really never knew when to stop. Rolling her eyes, she grabbed her car keys.

I loved how wednesday first seemed irritated about it and in a matter of seconds went to get her car keys to go get reader, that's so her (and the way she describes a bit of reader like "so warm and dazzling that you eclipsed everything around you." left my heart warm 😭😭 wednesday is the last romantic in the world okay

It wasn’t uncommon for you to be over there at all, every little quirk you had being memorized by the apartment: your mug, your spare key, your book on how the biggest planets are made of the same things that humans are.
