So, this first part is going to be my own personal opinion based off of who I am as a person, and my views may not be shared within the fandom. I personally struggle with super abrasive dom/sub dynamics where a male character is very overbearing, controlling, etc. THAT DOESN'T MEAN I DON'T LIKE ANY DOM/SUB DYNAMICS, just that fics where a male character is being super aggressive and demeaning and such really aren't my vibe, if that makes sense?

I personally struggle imagining our sweet, sad boy Remus as being super mean in bed? Doesn't mean I don't think he's in charge, especially in poly!scenarios because when there's that many people in bed, someone has to run the show lol, but I don't see him as super bossy and assertive.

Now, keeping in mind that this is my interpretation on a character who literally doesn't exist (which is so sad wtf), my version of 'dom!remus' looks more like a very assured, confident guy in bed; he knows what he's doing, he's good at it, and he knows how to get everyone where they're trying to go (i.e., orgasm city, obviously). He takes care of everyone in bed, and (in the case of poly!marauders or poly!wolfstar) he certainly redirects anyone's naughty (bratty) behaviour (read: sirius), but I think he'd also be super communicative and understanding that it's a dance, not a battle which adds to his assuredness and confidence in bed because people feel safe with him - they know that he knows what he's doing and can let go because they trust him with their safety and their pleasure - and he's in bed with his partner's, not his adversaries.

I've often imagined his love language (how he shows love) to be acts of service and physical touch, which I think goes hand in hand with how he is in bed; when he's in a relationship with these ships, he's making love, not just fucking

I think you're right...some things definitely change around the full moon. I think leading up to the moon (depending on if it was a manic moon or if he was moonsick) there'd be a very noticeable change in him. So anyways here's my Zoro and Sanji retrospective I spent several hours on I guess. As if it's my fault.

When Zoro and Sanji meet, Sanji has given up on his dream to see the All-Blue in favor of supporting Zeff.

Zoro is still throwing himself at his dream to be the greatest swordsman with all his might, and nearly dies to Mihawk for it.

Initially, from Sanji's outside perspective, it seems like a waste of precious life.

Zoro promising never to disappoint Luffy when he's on death's door clearly makes Sanji reconsider, though.

The next time Sanji and Zoro really interact after Zoro's defeat is when they go after Nami at Arlong Park.

And the first thing Sanji learns about Zoro is.......that he's willing to hit girls!

To Sanji, Zoro seems like he's willing to turn on someone-- and worse, willing to hurt a girl-- just because he's angry for an apparent betrayal that no one has any concrete proof of yet. What a jerk! Surely that earned him the dig Sanji makes about his loss to Mihawk.

Unbeknownst to Sanji, however, Zoro has already bet his life on Nami's friendship being genuine by almost drowning himself.

Zoro doesn't want to bother explaining this to some stupid new guy who's willing to side with a stranger purely on the basis of her gender. Clearly, Sanji doesn't understand ANYTHING about this crew, and should just stay out of things.

And so their initial mutual dislike is born!!!

They tend to bicker a lot after this, but I think the next time Sanji brings up Mihawk is in Alabasta.

Once again, Sanji is hitting below the belt because he's convinced Zoro's done something nigh-unforgivable: doubting Luffy. It's a reminder that their rivalry at this point is still built on genuinely misjudging each others' character.

Now at this point I've run out of my 100 daily shounen jump chapters so I can't find for you the PRECISE moment thet are mutually like "yeah ok fine you're a DECENT guy I GUESS" in Alabasta but I think it's the clock tower maybe? The point is that the whole crew has to work together VERY HARD to defeat Crocodile and it shows Sanji and Zoro that they can count on each other to support the crew, at least.

Their improved relationship is apparent in one of my fave downtime scenes so far: Sky Island jungle dinner :)

I...don't think we've seen Sanji ask for help cooking before this point?? Much less from Zoro. So I fucking love that. And Zoro goes along with it, even though he complains!!!!! It shows perfectly how they now trust each other to help take care of the crew.

Another one if my fave examples of them counting on each other in a kind of funny way is when they're fighting Zombie Oars.

Zoro pushes Sanji's buttons on purpose to get him to go along with it, and it works. But it also shows that Zoro was counting on him to give him a boost! The middle panel could even imply Zoro jumped before Sanji agreed to anything, which really proves how much they're willing to couny on each other now.

Which of course brings us to the conclusion of Thriller Bark and a WILD curveball in their relationship: thes self-sacrificial x2 combo.

What Sanji does here floored me. At this point not only does he trust Zoro as a part of the crew, but he considers Zoro a more irreplacable member of the crew than himself.

And Zoro refuses to let him.

Now, we know from his initial fight with Mihawk that Zoro being willing to kill himself doesn't mean he considers his life unimportant. Zoro and Luffy are both unafraid of death, because they have to be willing to die to even have a ghost of a chance of achieving their dreams.

That's why Zoro chooses to take on Luffy's pain and why he is able to survive it.

Zoro's sacrifice obviously means a lot to Sanji. When Zoro refuses to acknowledge his sacrifice, Sanji goes along with that and covers for him.

And of course he understands. The pain Sanji mentions here that Zoro is trying to spare Luffy from is the exact same pain that lead Sanji to give up on his dream of finding the All-Blue in favor of trying to repay his life debt to Zeff. Sanji wouldn't wish the guilt he feels for Zeff's leg on anybody.

Sanji shows a lot of concern for Zoro after this point up until the time skip!! He calls Zoro a hero to Brook, and tries to help Zoro deal with his excess injuries without drawing attention to them. Zoro is of course surly about it, because he's frustrated by his own limits. He got a taste of what Luffy goes through and it just made him more desperate to become strong enough to lighten Luffy's load.

I find their sort-of reset after the timeskip hilarious.

Sanji was already feeling deeply insecure when he got sent to the island of question your gender and sexuality-- things Sanji clearly considers very important to his identity. Since he can't bear to question himself, he relies on reacting combatively to things that challenge his masculinity. Kicking them, mostly. I'm sure he picked that up from Zeff.

Meanwhile, Zoro is THE most traditionally Masculine member of the crew besides Sanji by a long shot (Franky is in 3rd place as a self-professed freak with blue hair and pronouns who refuses to wear pants). Zoro is buffer than Sanji. And seemingly more stoic than Sanji. And Zoro has cool scars and uses three swords and his muscles are bigger and half the time he's not even wearing a shirt.

This masculinity contest between them was present before the timeskip too, but it's really the only good explanation for the extremeness of Sanji's sour attitude the moment he lays eyes on post-timeskip Zoro and remarks, aloud, "He's back. Like I really care..." after how much appreciation Sanji showed for Zoro's sacrifice before the timeskip.

Sanji WOULD be annoyed at his crewmate's seemingly effortless, unshakeable masculinity after two years of doggedly avoiding non-consensual crossdressing and constantly fighting for his life to outrun gay thoughts.

Zoro's side of things so far post-timeskip seems a bit less wound-up than Sanji. Zoro never takes an insult sitting down, and also just enjoys making snide remarks, so if Sanji's going to argue with him there's no reason for Zoro not to argue back.

This is why I am a gay Zoro truther, even if that gayness has nothing to do with anyone on the crew. Because its fucking hilarious if Sanji is one-sidedly trying to out-hetero-masculinity a literal gay man.

I have tried to think about what Valeria's demon would do, who they'd be, and I am a little stumped. Currently I'm thinking her demon is called Hide, and I want to say Valeria earned her demon but I just know she'd try summoning one if she heard about them. "So," she draws the word out, "that's your best plan? Feeding a meat grinder spare parts in the hopes of a little fire power?" Valeria tips her head, "I already get all the weapons I need, why should I go after the ones I dont?"

Valeria hums, and points her finger at him, her thumb raised in an approximation of a gun. She makes a "bang" noise, raising her hand for the recoil. You hide all your shadows in his skull until it pops.

The men on either side of him jump up from their seats with loud swears as his brains splatter the table. His body collapses forward, eyes dangling. Some of the men cross themselves, Valeria kicks her feet up on the table.

"What a shame," She looks at her fingers, inspecting them with a bored sort of expression, "I almost liked him."

"What the fuck did you do?" Someone asks, you don't really care who, you're busy watching two idiots try to get brains off of their nice suits. You wave a hand, and hide every bullet in the room. Well, every bullet save the ones in you handler's gun. Which is a handy trick when everyone is so damn trigger happy.

Several guns raise, pointed at Valeria.

"Nothing any of you could prove," she folds her hands in her lap with a smile, "or that anyone would believe if you told them."

"Bitch," one of the men spits. Rude. You hide his tongue, watch the blood drip from his stunned lips as he chokes. The rapid click of empty guns fills the room. Valeria tuts, shaking her head.

"All that machismo," she snaps her fingers and you feel your shadows ripple as your obscura falls, you bare your teeth at the nearest cartel boss, "really isn't going to help you much, eh cabrónes?"

You feel the chain length of a heavy leash burn into existence, following the clench of Valeria's fist. You quite like the show you both put on. The way all of the men in the room, so used the being the grim reaper in their little world, come face to face with a true beacon of death for the first time and seem to lose all their blood. Valeria drags you back until you tumble into her lap, hooks her finger in your leather collar and makes you look like a lapdog.

"Why don't you sit down before another of you makes a mess?" Valeria advises. And just like a pack of well trained dogs, they do.

but in all seriousness, if a ship seems nasty to you, then a logical explanation of it is probably not going to change your mind. squicks are just gut reactions, so it doesn't really matter whether or not you understand the thing that squicks you. and that's ok! if the ship makes you uncomfortable, you should just block the rw regicide tag (or in my case you should probably just block me entirely lol )

but since you did ask sincerely, I'll at least try to explain why I ship it:

basically, I'm just a sucker for the 'enemies to lovers' trope and the 'villain redemption' trope. show me any two characters who fit both of those, and I'll probably ship it lol

I like villain redemption, because I like tragic villains. I like villains whose actions are inexcusable, but understandable. villains who lash out due to grief and end up doing horrible things in the throes of rage. and I like making them feel bad about it. I like villains who know they are monsters, who know they have done despicably evil things and truly hate themselves for it. and I like giving them a second chance. I like to see them feel remorse and turn away from evil and try to become better people.

and I like enemies to lovers because... well, for a lot of reasons that would probably take several thesis papers to unpack, lmao. but basically there's just something really intimate about two characters who can handle each other at their absolute worst, when no one else can. arti is like an unstoppable force of rage until she meets scav king, who is like an immovable object to her. he's willing to fight her and kill her as many times as he needs to, but he never strikes first, and he always gives her the chance to back down. and since he does have min aggression and max sympathy, I see him as the type of person who would easily forgive someone who is genuinely remorseful. he doesn't want to keep the cycle of violence and hatred going; whenever arti is ready to let go of her rage and stop the bloodshed, so is he. when she's ready to face the consequences of her actions and try to become a better person, he would rather support her than condemn her. he doesn't necessarily expect his people to forgive her, and he doesn't try to make excuses for her or downplay any of the harm she caused. i just think he could personally look at arti and find someone worth caring about underneath all the rage and hate, and in turn she could look at him and find someone she can trust enough to let all that hate go and admit she was wrong.

obviously, this type of relationship could never happen in real life (or if it did, it would be a fucking toxic disaster). but they're just characters, so their relationship doesnt have to be realistic, and I just want their story to have a happy ending I guess.

idk if any of this makes sense to you, but it's fine if not. you don't always have to understand why people like things that you don't like, it's ok to just block them for your own peace of mind. so if this ship still makes you uncomfortable, feel free to block me, I wouldn't take offense. stay safe and remember that fandom is for having fun , so dont stress out about it too much!

Like, i don't think they're BAD for each other, and before Terezi met Dave, she and karkat definitely had mutual crushes - karkat's most obviously, but eridan's "whoa, did she really say that, can you copy exactly what she said" about feferi is actually an echo of terezi's line about karkat. so, mutual flushed crushes: confirmed.

i guess what i mean by deserving better is just that, like... terezi deserves someone who thinks she's fucking hilarious, and is willing to play along with her little games. as much as she likes karkat's overblown reactions, he's not exactly a good sport, and that's not even getting into his mixed signals. Despite the two having interest in each other since at least the beginning of sgrub, by the time they're talking to the kids, Terezi's surprise when John jokes that Karkat said he was in love with her indicates that he's managed to send such mixed messages that she genuinely isn't sure how he feels about her, and he later berates his own past self on the meteor for the exact same, and of wanting her in every quadrant, his "spirited platonic contention" objectively construable as pitch flirting.

Meanwhile, on Karkat's end, he fucking loves romance. Cheesy, corny, sappy romance. Soul mates and destiny. If you want to understand Karkat, watch Serendipity, one of his favorite movies. My god. If he showed that to terezi she would never let him live it down.

He laments to Vriska that nobody listens to him talk about quadrant shit, even though it's incredibly fascinating to him. This is a lie; ERIDAN listens to him. But this means that Terezi doesn't, and neither have we ever seen them discussing it, so that's kind of what i mean by both of them deserving better? You know what, as a wlw im extremely tired of this fandom.

There are:

4 boys

15 girls

1 Mizuki

And the fandom manages to get the 4 boys twice as popular as the most popular wlw ship.

Up until a few months ago there were more wlw fics even if ruikasa and akitouya were always top 3 but then the genshin fujoshis entered this fandom but this isn't about that now.

I understand ruikasa and akitouya are great ships, but can't people spare the time to give wlw some love too or are people gonna continue being straight up lesbiphobic and misogynist?

MinoHaru and Anhane are THE MOST EXPLICIT SAID ships in the full game. And anhane still gets more attention because they're from vbs, a group with two boys. MinoHaru has so few fanfics actually dedicated to them, most of them are chatfics or background couples.

Its full on misogynist when:

The fandom treats leo/need and more more jump too, they're the only full female group (im not counting niigo because of Mizuki) and said as "boring" and the girls without personality, Saki saves actually because she is Tsukasa's sister.

Both of those groups has amazing stories that might not be for you, but it does not gives anyone the right to say its boring when you didn't even pay attention to it.

I've seen people call Kanade, Mafuyu, Ena boring even, but then go and amplify Tsukasa's depression (which is another fucked up thing) because sure, girls cant be as interesting as boys.

Treat Shiho, Ena and Airi as this assholes but turn around and say Akito is the best written character as if those 4 dont have the same thing of acting harsh but genuinely caring.

People put stuff like ruinene and mizurui as past abusive/toxic relationships for the sake of mlm.

People keep up putting Saki on the hospital or dead in favor of Tsukasa angst, which is not only misogynist but also ableist.

People treat Ena as this abusive older sister when really, it's not that at all. (Also used for Akito angst because people love doing this to the siblings apparently)

Its full on transphobic when:

People dont treat Mizuki as nonbinary, or their ships being nblw/nblm or even wlw would be more correct, people treat Mizuki differently. Yall barely treat them as a person, just for your ship. Mizuena and Mizumafu are extremely sexualized as if thats the only good thing for the character.

Its full on lesbiphobic when:

The 4 boys have more content than 15 girls.

A lot of the most popular wlw ship is just as a background for Akitouya. (Seriously dont even tag them when its not important to the story, when i want to see Akitouya i go to the akitouya tag).

In early fandom, people demonized Anhane to say how Akitouya is this great thing.

Someone had to write anhane fics near daily (Kohane420 if you're out there you're a legend) because there were more akian fics than anhane.

It's straight up homophobic when:

The mlm ships has a lot of fetishization and smut.

They change Tsukasa's personality to be an innocent bean who does no wrong and Rui's personality as this sexualized person just to write fanfic.

I wont be mad if you like the boy characters or the mlm ships because that is valid but sometimes you should stop and look at if there's any reason to that or if you're not leaving the girls behind for it.

I like König purely becuase tall masked man but Gaz. Our man Gaz. He's beautiful. He's committed to what he believes in and he delivers some good one liners. In my eyes it's the same shit different fandom. Whenever a popular piece of media gains traction the only poc characters mysteriously disappear. I want to make it clear to the finicky people of fandoms you don't have to read or write or draw characters you don't like.That being said a discussion needs to be had about how fandoms often treat poc characters. To see people replace the main character with someone not even evolved in the main campaign is mind boggling. "But I don't know Gaz well enough" then you don't know Price well enough seeing as they're with each other most of the campaign. "But the actors sexuality" let me tell yall now how yall don't care. There's plenty of actors whose characters you write for are married with whole ass families or of a different sexuality and you still write their characters ignoring those facts. Yall didn't care before and yall dont care now don't try and act like you have some sort of upper ground. If you're not attracted to Gaz that's fine no one is forcing you to be. But completely writing out his character or not including him in TF 141 edits is mad. There's plenty of fics I've read where Gaz is not the main love interest but more of a friend/brotherly figure but at least he is there and the writer does his character justice. But I will say the Gaz fics are some of the fluffiest ones I've read. Real heart warming stuff.

AMEN. I also thirst after König because he's a big masked man, I devour all the smut content and the edits, I'm as thirsty as the next hoe in this place, there's nothing wrong with thirsting after König or Keegan or whoever else. There's also nothing wrong with NOT thirsting after Gaz, like no one is forcing someone to like a character they don't, that's just stupid. Also if you haven't played the games because you don't have access to do so or even don't want to that's totally valid and fine, many people read the wikis/watch vids/engage with the fandom and that's really cool to see, even if you're just here to thirst, been there done that.

With that being said, the stupid excuses that raise concern in this fandom are totally valid to be talked about. 1) "I'm not attracted to Gaz/I don't add him in 141 thirst content because Elliot is gay" What does the actor's sexuality have to do with the character? As far as I know Gaz' sexuality is nowhere discussed or confirmed, same way for the rest of the characters so why on earth does Elliot's sexuality matter in this context?

I don't see this being a big deal to people who ship Ghost x Soap since Neil and Samuel are only involved with women irl because guess what? It.doesn't.matter. They're ACTORS. Their personal lives have nothing to do with the characters they portray so why is it only an issue when it comes to Gaz/Elliot?

2) "I don't know him well enough." From that it's clear that you haven't played the games cause Gaz is literally who you play as in both MW1/MW2 so you know him as much as Price and MORE than Ghost or Soap. Which again, it's totally fine but when it's paired with König who you literally don't know cause that mf has only 1 paragraph on his wiki and the only thing said about him is that he had anxiety growing up (that some people infantilize and it's weird) in freaking 141 content that he has NOTHING to do with but leave out the first member of TF141 then...?

I've had many people under my posts commenting that the way some people treat Gaz in this fandom feels kinda racist and I admit this was not my initial thought due to me being privileged enough to not have it as such but after reading all these comments it does seem that way for some (like I said many do it due to either thirsting after masked men or haven't played/bothered with the games) and it's not fucking okay cause that goes further than fiction (someone said that 'oh they're fictional, they don't care if they're included or not' yeah Emily but you're excluding a 141 member from 141 content who happens to be a poc and his VA/FA is a gay man so let's talk about it.)

To the people who get annoyed/upset that I talk about this as if I don't have the right to, if you're in a fandom you can talk about the things you don't like/criticise certain behaviour without it being "such a big deal" since we're talking about fictional characters, when people are engaging with a fandom, spend hours reading/watching/playing content, they're also allowed to talk about things they don't like in said fandom. Relax.

What do you think about the BuckTommy, Buddie, Buck/Tommy/Eddie situation and arc

i love all three ships, but if you’re asking specifically about where abc seems to be taking the characters i have so many thoughts.

i’ve said it before but i’ll say it again: buck and eddie do not need to get together this season or right now or even in the next episode. eddie just admitted to having catholic guilt and buck just kissed a boy for the first time. both of them have a lot of things to work through if abc’s intention is to make buddie canon and to make it last. it wouldn’t make sense for buck and eddie to just accept their feelings for each other and ride off into the sunset all happy a couple episodes after buck’s first date with tommy and eddie admitting to issues with marisol and within himself.

buck and tommy work together. tommy seems to be caring and understanding of buck just realizing his own sexuality and coming to terms with it but also he doesn’t seem to be willing to risk his own happiness and acceptance of himself for buck either which is huge. theres this clear line that was set when tommy left that first date that not only says “you’re not ready so i’m not going to push” but also “you’re not ready but i’m not going to hide in the closet with you because you aren’t.” i like bucktommy because it’s canon but also because it works. it makes sense that buck would be attracted to someone like tommy, who is not only eddie’s mirror, but also someone who has their shit figured out.

i know a lot of people dont like tommy and one of those reasons is because he cut their first date short, but we are seeing their relationship from buck’s point of view, not tommy’s. and tbh, he had every right to do that, he was setting a boundary while also making it known that he’s not fucking around when it comes to pursuing this relationship with buck. not to mention that when buck reached out and said that he wasn’t sure what he was ready for, just that he was ready for something, tommy said ok i’ll be that something with you. that speaks volumes for his character. i think people are forgetting that we don’t have to see the character growth on screen for a character to grow and become more nuanced.

i would love it if we could see more of tommy and eddie’s relationship. but i know that’s not going to happen. even when buck and tommy do break up, it would be nice to end things on good terms so we can still hear about him in passing from eddie or buck, or even have him pop back in for episodes whether it’s because they need a helicopter or they just have a friend outside of the 118.

im rehashing what a lot of people have already said on here about tommy, but my point stands, i like him and i like the bucktommy ship.

but for the diehard buddie shippers, and the people that don’t like tommy, it’s been heavily speculated that he’s not sticking around so you don’t have to worry about him ruining buddie ever becoming canon. think of him more as a stepping stone to buddie becoming canon. (once again, if that is what abc is doing. i’m not abc, so i can only theorize and hope.)
