31 Days Idol Challenge - Oliver Riedel

Day 6 - Favourite Instrument

This was a pretty easy one for me. Oliver has been loyal to Sandberg for years. Before he started using his current California II VM4 BK signature model, he had a different signature model - the Terra Bass.

I love the simple look of the Terra Bass. It was a 4-string bass created to be tuned BEAD rather than the normal EADG, although it could of course be played in normal tuning as well.

Bonus material: 1) I don't have a picture of Oliver playing this, but the plasma bass was of course really cool. 2) In Mein Land, Oliver played a Vox Violin bass. 3) And of course, I can't not mention the acoustic guitar. According to Rammstein World, it's a Fender CN-90.

I found out about this challenge from the Youtuber GinjaninjaOwO/ActuallyRea from their Alphabet challenge shorts.

For this challenge, I wanted to do characters from media that I know.

The A is for The Lady Amalthea....I know that this is her full title and is almost always referred to as this title (maybe even all the time), but her actual name would indeed be Amalthea.

I loved the movie The Last Unicorn, and I had the chance to read the book when I was attending Community College, which I loved too. There are differences of course, a given between the mediums, but both are still great. Just for the content, I would probably say the book is better, but the movie is still good in its own merit, if not for the art style alone (THE HANDS! THE WAY THE HANDS ARE DRAWN!)

The Lady Amalthea is a character created by Peter S. Beagle for his novel, "The Last Unicorn", and shown in the movie version made by Rankin/Bass.

I just wanted to say that I just finished teaching myself the bass-line from Plastika and I am very happy! (it took a while to figure out all the parts as it is actually quite complex)
