I was at a university a few weeks ago that had unisex stalled bathrooms in one of the buildings. They basically just slapped a unisex sign on the doors of what were once gendered bathrooms and changed absolutely nothing else, it was great.

And yeah, it was a little weird and awkward the first few times I went in there and there was a cis dude there. But honestly I think that awkwardness was more due to the fact that I was their professor and they were my students, which is a whole different quality of awkward.

But over all? Good experience! I was glad the college had done that with the bathrooms in that building! And the students didn't seem to mind at all, the bathroom was always busy.

That's it, no more bathroom privileges until students know how to clean up their act. We know it's not everyone but it is enough for us to need to do something about this problem. Absolutely frustrated and disappointed that we had to have another early morning fire emergency!

Using the bathroom in general is a human right and should be enshrined as such and I'm not joking. Too many groups of people are denied bathroom breaks or the use of bathrooms entirely--disabled people, blue-collar workers, children, homeless people, prisoners, students, the elderly. I'm surely missing other groups. Not using the bathroom when needed can cause serious, long-term damage, not to mention death. Free, clean, accessible bathrooms should be available everywhere. It's fucking cruel to deny someone the use of the bathroom, regardless of the reasoning. I'd rather every student in the world goof off and every homeless person make a mess and every worker "steal company time" than let one person suffer because they're denied the right to fucking pee in peace.

I sort of made a promise to myself when I started substitute teaching that I would never deny a kid going to the bathroom, or going to see the nurse etc. because I’ve read so many stories about people when they were kids having terrible incidents when they were denied these things.

And yeah, maybe they’re fibbing sometimes, but usually they need a break when they do that. Just let it go.

One class I subbed for this week-it seemed like every other kid needed to go to the nurse for a tummy ache, or the bathroom. And it did feel a little suspicious-but every single kid who complained-either threw up in the bathroom or went home.

No one’s puking on my shoes except me ok?

oh. kirishima is that guy that tries to go on date after date after date and it just. never works out.

so genuinely into it, even has butterflies ! but he's at home getting ready and buttoning up his shirt and he takes a last look in the mirror and — he just wishes it was with you.

his date that night is so great and lovely and funny, but there are little moments when he looks at their face and feels a deep ache in his heart because he shouldn't want for someone else while a wonderful individual is sitting right there in front of him. but he does. thinks about what you would order to eat, to drink, if you would let him hold your hand on the way back to the train station, if you'd let him kiss you goodnight. just a small one, even.

and it doesn't help when he returns to work the following monday, just for you to gently knock on his office door, all bright-eyed and curious.

"so...how did it go? are we hearing wedding bells yet?"

his date was great. 10/10. he laughed and he joked and he blushed at their flirting and even texted them afterwards to make sure they got home alright. just as he's done with all the previous ones.

"nah," kirishima rubs the back of his neck and smiles lamely. hopes you read his disappointment as how the date didn't go and not over who it wasn't with. "plenty of fish in the sea, right?"

"aw, kiri, you'll find someone that's great for you soon, i know it!" you frown at him and he feels the back of his eyes sting, his chest grow heavy with all the things he wish he could say to you.

"yeah, no, you're right!"

but he just can't.
