#be a feminine boy in a masc kinda way

After a long lotta soul searching and psychoanalysing, I've concluded that I currently feel best about being he/him agender afab (& am likeee 65-35 fem-masc for presentation atm) which feels like a parody of tumblr users going too far with labels. And yet.
Like I can show you my working out here, and yeah, I think therapy might be helpful for me to get a more stable sense of self, but it's what I feel works best for me at the moment.
Now how do I integrate this self-discovery into the way I speak French....
#not transing my gender but de-gendering my self-concept and self-presentation#do you get me#my gender is me gently nursing my 9 yr old self back to life#who was not a tomboy but also was not a girl or a boy and was ugly as all hell but had no conception of attractiveness or refinement#who had a multi-year long daydream world which was based around having a) a huge sword and b) friends w matching swords#who only had second hand clothes but from both the boys & girls sections and who was obsessed w reenacting violence as playing#god she could've taken over the world#im coaxing her back to life#but to do that we have got to pass over the grave of the teenage me who was in a lot of pain that i cannot carry forward#and the she/her pronouns will to be laid to rest with her. at least for the time being#so welcome to the future little me dont mind the grave of 11-17 yr old us or the void where 18-22 yr old us used to be#no giant sword just yet but you can fling the he/him pronouns around like projectiles in a slingshot for the time being#and i bestow upon you the tentative name of 2 dumbass fictional guys whose gender is best described as 'bitchy'#even if no name is ever really going to feel right because 11-17 yr old took our name and buried it with her and that was for the best#so good luck nick#your playground is a graveyard and you do not stand on the shoulders of giants#and yet i think youve got it from here#degendering my self to re gender myself#tear it all to the ground and rebuild only what you want#be a feminine boy in a masc kinda way#him/him but elle qui s'accorde au masculin#impossible que tu sois prof de français comme ça mais tant pis#bark

So idk if you write for Kiri, but you know how kirishima is kinda like a total boys boy? Like a gym bro, kinda hyper masc? Well do you think you can write him with a hyper fem/hello kitty kinda girl? Like he always thought that he would be with kinda a gym girl, or someone more his speed with that kind of stuff, but instead he falls in love with a girl who always is wearing pink and something hello kitty themed? And how once he tells the bakugo buddy bunch about his crush on her they totally bully him for it (lovingly ofc)
Or maybe denki? I love both the silly boys bc iykwim they jus so adorable!
Like denki has a type, and [insert reader name] did not meet the standards of that, but little sparky boy did not think he would fall in love with her so quicky, especially because she's jus so feminine, and not necessarily that it's bad, he is just so confused on why they feel the need to dress like that. He's not opposed to trying new things or matching outfits tho.....
GAGAHSJRD SORRY I WROTE ALOT THERE ANTWYAS LOVE YOUR STUFF YOUR AMAZINGGGGGGGGGGG XX THANK YOU YOU DONT HAVE TO UF YOU DONT WANNA SHDJFJF

— KIRISHIMA
⇶ Eijiro himself was confused when he developed feelings for you
⇶ He would never tell you this now, or probably ever, but you were nothing like the type of girl he imagined himself with
⇶ He always thought he’d date a girl that was similar to him interest wise, athletic, very fitness focused, into stuff like protein shakes
⇶ Not to say that it was bad that you weren’t like that, but it just wasn’t expected
⇶ Even the Bakusquad was perplexed when he revealed that he had a crush on you
“No fucking way.”
Eijiro waved off Denki’s response, slumping into the sofa with a sigh.
“Hey, don’t be an asshole! What’s wrong with Y/n? She’s cool and pretty!” Mina defended, shoving Denki by his shoulder.
He groaned dramatically, jokingly rubbing his arm in the spot she made contact with.
“I don’t mean it like that,” he explained. “She’s just the complete opposite of what Eiji always said he was lookin’ for in a girl.”
“No fuckin’ kidding, have you seen the girls room? It’s like she set off a pink paint bomb in there,” Bakugo chimed in.
“I like it!” Mina exclaimed.
“Yeah, I wonder why,” Bakugo muttered, earning a pillow to the face from Mina in response.
“I dunno, I kinda like it. It’s cute, and it’s actually a really nice contrast to me and my usual type,” Eijiro said.
“Yeah, you guys would look good together,” Denki, urged. “Honestly, I was gonna go for her, but I’ll let you have her!”
Eijiro rolled his eyes at the cocky remark from his friend.
“Let him? It’s that Denki for ‘I couldn’t pull her if I tried?’ Or?” Mina teased.
“Hey, what happened to ‘don’t be an asshole,’?”
⇶ When you do eventually get together, Eijiro comes to love your hyperfeminine all pink aesthetic
⇶ At first, the constant stares of all your stuffed animals would scare him when he slept over, and he had more nightmares of them attacking him than he’d like to admit
⇶ But now, your room is his favorite place to sleep, especially after a good workout and shower
⇶ Loves seeing you all dolled up whenever you go out anywhere
⇶ Sending him daily fit pics is a REQUIREMENT.
⇶ Calls you his doll all the time because that’s what you remind him of when you’re all dressed up in some frilly outfit and covered in pink from head to toe
⇶ Doesn’t understand the obsession with Sanrio and Hello Kitty and why you incorporate it into all your outfits, but he loves guessing the names of whatever character(s) you have on your clothes that day and gets so happy when he guesses right
⇶ And even though he doesn’t understand, he still buys you anything Sanrio that he sees in the store because he knows you’ll like it
⇶ If you make him watch Hello Kitty and Friends with you though, Eijiro will quickly learn to love it and know all the characters names by heart
⇶ Gets you both sleep masks of your favorite characters as well as matching pajamas
⇶ Eijiro might just love your cutesy aesthetic more than you, even though it’s not exactly what he gravitates towards for himself
⇶ Although you weren’t necessarily the type of person he expected to fall for, he could never imagine himself with anyone else <3

Lgbtqia+ hcs because I don't know if I'm gonna make it till June lmao (or, if I'm gonna live after it since I'm planning on wearing my flags In public 🤡)
Tw for csa mentions (because why don't I keep projecting huh)
Ashlyn Banner
-She/Her but in a "never thought about pronouns her entire life" kinda way. Doesn't mind they/them. She likes dressing masc/feeling masc, but doesn't really like being "perceived" as masc. Like...masc on her own time lmao. (I'm projecting so hard rn)
-Demi rose 🌹 I'm also projecting here. Takes her a while to come into her feelings, but maybe that's the "never had friends ever" coming through.
Aiden Clark
-he/him but like he won't care if you use smth else for him lol. Cis gnc kinda guy eyyyyy (better in heels than ashlyn)
-unlabeled and that's how he likes it, nobody's business who he likes kissing lol. I feel like he's kissed a guy before just to try it. On the aro-allo spectrum ngl.
Ben Clark
-He/Him, is fine with They/Them. Honestly likes getting called She/Her too but Ben's been pretty shy about mentioning it :") Taylor likes doing her makeup if they're having a "femme-day". Settled on genderfluid/genderflux after a while.
-Greyromantic Caedsexual (Ace). Shane was part of a group of slightly older kids, and when he was getting bullied Shane and some other kids sexually assaulted him multiple times...technically was a queer assault since Ben was seen as a sissy because his personality and hobbies were "feminine", and this was to goad him into having a physical reaction :/
Taylor Hernández
(Ngl I'm so annoyed there's not more colors but whatever)
-She/Her and They/Them, identified as cis for a long time since it was what they knew, but once she learned more about it she experimented with her gender a lot more, they identified as non-binary for a while before moving to paragirl.
-Pan to aro/ace pipeline because I'm projecting :) she didn't really handle it well at the beginning, but Ben, Ash and Aiden are all also a-spec so she had a lot of support ^_^ She felt "invalid" because of the csa she went through when they were younger and they thought it was more like a trauma response than her actual sexuality. After talking with Ben about it tho she understood that even if they were related that didn't make her any less valid.
Tyler Hernández
-He/Him cis guy :p
-was kinda annoying about queer people because actually being raised as a Catholic Mexican boy makes you kinda weird (IM SORRY THIS IS JUST FROM PERSONAL EXPERIENCE) BUT he gets better I promise
-Bisexual boyfailure and took him crushing on Logan to accept it 🤡
Logan Fields
-He/Him and a bit of a stickler about it because he gets misgendered rather frequently (less as he got older but still), doesn't mind getting called gendered terms tho (Taylor calls him "sis", and he calls himself an "Astrology girl")
-intersex, found out when he was 15ish since his puberty had been delayed, and he's really insecure about it...🙃 he was assigned male at birth so he wouldn't say he's trans, but his experiences overlap a fair bit. Takes testorone and medication because he has low electrolytes. I could write a whole essay here but I have to go soon 😭
-Gay :> He realized pretty quickly but he's intensely scared of people finding out, has only told his grandparents. They took it very well ^_^ His grandpa has some gay friends so sometimes Logan goes to the senior center to talk with them about stuff :)

Gender is complicated before I add my sexuality.
Am I a women? No
Am I a man? No
Am I a girly? No? Maybe? Sometimes I'm baby girl in a masculine way
Am I a boy? Maybe? Ish? Like in a pretty boy kinda way
Do I want to be recognized as either? Not really
Is gender real? How do we divide things into masculine and feminine?
What are my pronouns today? I DON'T KNOW LET ME EENIE MEENIE MINIEE MOE ONE OFF MY JACKET
Am I masc? Fem? Both? Neither?
I'm Genderqueer? That works
I'm whatever the moment calls for.
But yes I am a dyke and a lesbian. That is non negotiable
Women (also non-binary people), but Women

I refuse to believe anything but bottom!dan purely because of the meme.
booo boringggg we hate your pussyyyy
nah jk and i know youre joking lmao but i AM gonna use this as an opportunity to talk about why i hate the like 2015 era culture of dan bottoms uwu" ASIDE FROM LIKE THE OBVIOUS INAPPROPRIATENESS OF SHOVING THAT IN THE FACES OF TWO REAL DUDES.
like idk so much of the like "bottom dan top phil" was purely based on like how 'masculine" the two of them are or are perceived to be? or age or all these other things that i think are really harmful stereotypes toward gay couples in general like the "who's the man who's the woman" type thing. like oh dan is a bottom because he's more feminine, because he's younger, because he just "seems like it" and its like, what about him "seems" like a bottom lmao (again this is exactly what he says in his assumptions video.) and maybe some of it is based on the fact that he plays into the like daddy jokes but even before that ppl would still bottomify him lmao idk.
but same with top!phil, like it reminds me a lot of before they came out, at least around the time i was seeing this kinda stuff, ppl would be like "dan is bi or gay, but phil is definitely straight" which honestly... i think is bc a lot of the community at the time were like, young afab ppl who only knew about queerness (particularly male queerness) thru slashfic and yaoi, so they couldnt read that phil is like. thats butch queen yknow he's masc in like a "i love men so much that i became my ideal man" way. (i mean literally he became an emo to find a hot emo boy) but maybe that's just me and that's something that i am able to read abt him now that he's out idk! but yeah i think that idea of his masculinity then translated into, therefore he is the top in fics.
AND LIKE. we're all mature adults now right? for the most part? obv we're no longer @ ing them on twitter about fic or whatever but i do think this specific aspect of Phan Shipping is still kind of a thing, at least from what i've seen. AND DONT GET ME WRONG, DAN IS BABYGIRL. but i'm just saying. sometimes babygirl is a top.

In one of your posts (the favorite ship list), you mentioned that Ochaco is the more "masculine" in IzuOcha relationship, care to explain the reasoning behind that assessment?
Soft Boy & Tough Girl
Yeah, sure, and here’s what i mean in this post when i said Uraraka is the ‘masculine one’ in their relationship;
Tumblr media
Izuku is unique shounen character for having alive mother because most of the shounen male characters lost their mother in some way or another and  Izuku’s father doesnt seem to be around either. Which is also why having a loving mother is the reason why Izuku is soft.
Something i really like about Izuku’s character is; Izuku cries when he is sad. He just cries, feels scared and he doesnt feel shame for crying or being scared. He doesnt feel any shame for being vulnerable. And i really like that about him because it is really rare to see in a male character.
Tumblr media
Traits traditionally viewed as masculine in Western society include strength, courage, independence, leadership, and assertiveness.
Basically, Izuku is not masculine guy. He doesnt have any strength, he is scared, he is more follower type than leader, he has very low esteems. Especially at the start of series. This is who Izuku is.
He is just a normal boy and the reason i like this is because in media, we get many male characters who is most likely masculine, most of the time, they suffer from toxic masculinity, they feel insecure and lash out and sadly, audience seems to like it.
Tumblr media
And later in series, even Deku gets stronger, even he gets confidence, become leader, or braver, he is not trying to look himself more masculine. He is not trying to dominate other people in any way. Basically, he doesnt show toxic masculinity.
And i like Izuku is not like that. We always gets to see bad examples of when a boy shows his vulnerable, he gets to hear ‘you are not man enough’, ‘you have to be strong’ but i like that story tells Izuku opposite.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
‘Is your burden so heavy that it doesnt even let you cry? It looks like something you should share with us.’
Also when Izuku says 'heroes dont cry', Shouto is the one who reminds him again that its okay to cry. (This is also why i ship Tododeku too.)
The thing is some people is more sensitive to emotions, some people cry more easiely than others and thats how Izuku is. Izuku is very soft boy, he is very empathic, he is sensitive to other people’s emotions and he cry easiely and that is okay.
Tumblr media
Compared to Izuku, Ochaco is kinda opposite.
She is tomboy but not your usual tomboy you see in media. She is not wearing boy clothes or extreme feminine clothes. She is just tough and she has the confidence. She wears whatever she feels comfortable with. Its like it doesnt matter to her and i love that.
Though, Ochaco is the one who seems to repress her sadness and any other negative feelings compared to Izuku who shows it freely. Which is why i think Ochaco is comfortable with him, even in novel she says, the first day at school seeing Izuku like that made her comfortable because she realized she wasnt the only one who felt nervous.
Tumblr media
Also, unlike the ‘boy save the girl’ trope, in their relationship, its opposite. Its the ‘girl saves the boy’. Ochaco is Izuku’s hero since day one. The fact that before he was powerless, before the time he proved his worth to others, the fact that she showed kindness to him means a lot to Izuku. She was always kind to him, even when he was at his worst. Their helping each others happens too. Ochaco feels admiration towards him and think about him a lot, (writing has its flaws) but whenever Izuku thinks about his most important people in life, she is always part of it.
And another reason why i like izuocha and not other ships with her that much is because even though, Izuku was never masculine guy, Ochaco doesnt seem to see him as less guy or less attractive. Actually, seeing him so true to himself is what makes him attractive to her. Instead of populer guys in her class such as Bakugou who is good example of toxic masculinity or Shouto who seems tough and perfect, at least from outside. She just loves Izuku. She loves the boy whom everyone sees him as loser but to her, he was never a loser, she never sees him crying as annoying or bad thing, it is just part of him and she accepts it. And not only Ochaco doesnt mind Izuku's being vulnerable but also Izuku doesnt mind being protected by her, it doesnt feel him any inferior, actually it only makes him happy.
Tumblr media
And when Izuku is vulnerable, instead of judging him, she holds his hand and says ‘Its okay’ and she is like ‘i am gonna protect this boy’. Unlike the usual romance where men always protect the women, Ochaco protects Izuku and thats fine because it doesnt matter if its a boy or girl. The one who needs help deserves to be protected. In this relationship, boy is the more vulnerable and emotional one and she helps him. Thats okay, this is normal, this is what healthy, supportive relationship is.
And this is the reason i love Izuocha at first place. Yes, writing has so much flaws but i love their origin relationship. And i hope we get better writing but well, its very nice ship.

hey guys I’m curious On a very weird thing… if FOB albums could use pronouns, what ones do you think each of them would use?
My opinions:
TTTYG: he/she. (Like a girl but in a boy way yk? Just like 2004 Patrick. She is my boy girlfriend)
FUTCT: he/him (in a derogatory gay way)
IOH: STRONG they/them. No elaboration needed.
Folie: he/they (in a masc/andro punky nerd kinda way)
SRAR: they/it (in a grungey pissed-off gasoline-drinking brother kind of way. Think rat mullet.)
AB/AP: any/ all, masc leaning (in a pretty flowy sundress and long hair, but also masculine rage, yet feminine grace kind of way. She is the American beauty AND American psycho)
MANIA: strong she/her. (She’s a fag for boys but in a lesbian way yk? Ykwim?? She writes poetry and paints.)
SMFS: they/he (in a rolls in the dirt in all their band tees and jerseys so they get worn and look better kind of way)
I love how these slowly get more elaborate. I wanna turn them into characters now… RB with your opinions!! I’m super Curious!!! :)

I'm an anime only but i'm curious how is ferris relationship with gender?
im going to answer kinda quickly (and w/o spoilers) bc im abt to have dinner but the basic gist of it is:
crusch and ferris swapped gender presentations as part of a pact, something that goes back to their respective backstories. (might be harder to tell that crusch is intended to lean more masc, but its in like that knightly bishounen kinda way so it can come off more androgynous than anything). ferris takes the deal a lot more seriously than crusch does (partly bc of devotion, partly because of love) and even still "plays the part" when the pact no longer requires it after crusch got her memories eaten (and was acting more girlish). ferris wakes up every morning repeating the mantra of being a "cute girl" as an affirmation- saying that "this has been the mantra for a long time" believing whole-heatedly that there's magic in this sort of believing, and thats why they just somehow havent developed secondary sex characteristics (and they thank their ancestors for the lack of beard hair- i think it must be somekinda undiscovered divine protection of hrt). though they have a bit of a complex about the idea of this girlhood being "borrowed" because of the swap, and sort of have a higher sense of pressure to confirm as strictly to femininity because of this- because its for crusch. but dont necessarily mistake this for ferris disliking the pact itself, the pressure is something more internal. crusch never held herself to the same degree of devotion to it, wearing casual dresses while inside the house and such, while ferris has committed every fiber of their being to it. this has been the mantra for a long time. and there are genuine insecurities to be found within this- at a certain point a villain representing lust accuses ferris of dressing this way to "lead on" men, something that we as the audience know isnt true (ferris still loves crusch), but never the less messes with their head and in a way i think its meant to be a commentary on the general preconceptions audiences have when it comes to characters like ferris- rezero is a deconstruction series after all so stuff like that is to be expected.
all that being said do i think ferris is the most well done amazing rep in the whole universe? not really. i mean im not transfem so im not the authority on this topic, but im echoing stuff ive generally seen discussed- i think ferris is kind of an example of a character that suffers a bit from the creator not reeeaaallly knowing how trans people work or not realizing hes effectively written a trans person because of this. i defaulted to they/them to ferris here because it is kinda complicated and can be taken a few different ways. how much of it is for crusch vs how much is for ferris? how much of an identity does ferris have outside of crusch? outside of being crusch's "girl side" etc. this theme is something we see with ALL the knights! they all have a blinding and often self-destructive devotion to their liege. and a lot of these are heavily reliant on gender roles in a lot of ways (subaru projects his masc powerfantasy onto emilia, julius has to constantly be the Perfect Knight for anastasia, reinhard can only ever be a Hero and stakes his family's redemption on felt becoming king, al lets priscilla just behead him 100 times bc hes a freak.) in the case of crusch and ferris the entire concept is that these roles have been somewhat swapped, but the devotion stayed the same so. theres a lot there. a lot thats a lot more complicated than just like.... "boy dresses like a girl bc its my fetish" eugh

New character's really cute and love seeing your muscle girls. I could never figure out how to draw female muscles to my satisfaction 😭 any tips? (Rhea)
You know what helped me? Start by drawing the shape of the character's body and don't hold your brain hostage with thoughts of making the shape 'feminine'.
Tumblr media
...and do I basically mean "don't draw boobs?" Yeah, kinda! Boobs love to get in the way when it comes to stuff they hang out in front of... But also, don't hold back because the figure you're rendering is starting to look too masc. Male and female muscle/skeletal structure is surprisingly similar, on an anatomical level. Once you get that, you'll feel those shackles of "girl muscles versus boy muscles" falling away, and you can make some very interesting characters with exciting new body shapes you were afraid to try, before. :) Hope this helps!

Hi fellow writers. French words for you.
I just saw one too many posts showing off cute French petnames that are incredibly cringe to me in French, so here's a list that also tells you the connotations of different terms and their exact translation. If anyones worried about my validity (which would be fair don't trust people on the Internet), I'm a born French speaker, bilingual in English and currently in my first year of an English literature formation in university.
I also put a guide to swearing at the end because I think it's always fun to know how to swear in as many languages as possible.
Also, there's nothing about pronunciations because god knows I'm bad at that, so sorry. (Edit as of November 2023 : I'm going to try to add some tips on that front, but see how to pronounce things on WordReference if you need to).
Warning, it's a bit long. ⬇️
Je t'aime = I love you
Very vague guide to pronunciation : é = ey, -e at the end of the sentence is rarely pronounceable and generally indicates that the letter before it should be pronounced, ^ <- this is completely useless and doesn't do anything, è <- how you pronounce the letter A
Romantic petnames (and other expressions)
Je t'aime bien = I like you, I kinda like you - casual, can be used in a "I kinda like you, actually" kind of moment
Je t'adore = I adore you - Unlike in english, Je t'adore has the implication of excitement and big happiness in the moment, rather than worship or adoration (for example, you'll also say j'adore ça = I love this! about a thing you really like. For instance : J'adore My Hero Academia!) Can be used for friends.
Mon amour = my love - gender neutral (like few things in french), is generally very romantic but can be used by a mom or an aunt to her young children sometimes. You can also just say amour, though I hear it less in the part of France I'm in (Paris banlieues) I think it's popular in some places.
Mon chéri, ma chérie = comes from cher/chère = dear, so my dear, my darling. former is masculine, latter is feminine. Can be used by parents for their children, or condescendingly. You can just say chéri or chérie withoit the possessive in front of it.
Bébé = baby, gender neutral. It's like baby or babe in english (I dislike it personally but many people use it, generally young adults or teenagers). You can eventually say mon bébé (still gn), "mon" being a possessive pronoun, but it's less casual. Both can also be used by a mom/aunt, like mon amour.
(I'll say it here, but we don't actually say "mon cher/ma chère" much anymore, unless it's in a jokey or sarcastic way. It's just too fancy)
Ma belle/Mon beau = my beautiful, my pretty. The former is feminine and way more common than the latter, masculine, but you can still say it. Some fathers will call their daughters ma belle, it's not necessarily creepy but it can be.
Mon cœur = my heart, gender neutral. Pretty popular in couples, can be used in a family context too. Even with the possessive pronoun it's pretty casual, if not cheesy.
(Mon) trésor = (my) treasure. A pretty known one as far as I'm aware. It's pretty cute, just saying trésor is more casual. Gender neutral.
Mon amoureux/mon amoureuse = my lover (former masc, latter fem), VERY cheesy and kind of childish. "amoureux/se" literally means in-lover or something, someone who's in love (comes from être amoureux/se, to be in love). Elementary schoolkids ask who's your amoureux/se and you say I have an amoureux/se as a kid to say I have boy/girlfriend.
Mon adoré(e) = my beloved, the (e) is for the feminine form. feminine = adorée, masculine = adoré. This one is pretty fancy, unless your couple is very obnoxiously cheesy or actually gods/royalty/nobles, I wouldn't recommend using it too much.
Mon chat (my cat) + mon chaton (my kitty) = gender neutral, self explanatory. very cutesy, often used by older family members for younger family members. My godmother calls me mon chat and my aunt calls her youngest mon chat or just chat. I'd advise you to not use the feminine of chat (chatte) if you fear stupid jokes because it also means pussy.
In the same breath, Minou is a cutesy term for cat. It's not really used but if your french character has a catboy/girl partner, it's very well placed. Minette is a more feminine version of this word but it has kinda predatory connotations. A weird old dude talking about a young pretty waitress might call her a Minette. It can also be aggressive, a way to call someone - generally a girl - weak or pathetic. You can probably use it in a cute way though, but don't use it in a teasing way unless you want the implications that come with it.
And to follow through the predatory connoted petnames :
poupée = doll, feminine. It can be used in a cute way but is more often that not used in a I just whistled at you in the street and am now catcalling you way. Same thing as previous word, use it carefully. You can add ma in front of it as a possessive pronoun if you want I guess. (Here it will always be ma and poupée even if the character uses masculine pronouns, because the word poupée is feminine.)
There are a shit ton of random petnames we can make up, like ma tarte à la pomme (my apple pie), ma gaufre en sucre (my sugar waffle), mon ours en peluche (my teddy bear), mon sucre d'orge (my candy cane) but like. If I list all of them I won't ever be done with this post.
If you really want a cutesy nickname that's very personal to your otp, like I don't know if your fandom is called The Cyborg Of the Sea and your OTP is a pirate cyborg and a french dude, and you want your french dude to call your pirate cyborg something cheesy and very specific like my gold searching cyborg (mon cyborg chercheur(m)/chercheuse(f) d'or), just figure out an English version of your petname and translate it into a translator or something. Ideally not Google Translate.
The best would be to actually ask a french person, because there's subtlety to every language that most online translators are too dumb to give you, but not all of you have a handy french guy close to you. (If you want some good translators, use Linguee or WordReference or even Reverso but like please not GT).
Misc. words (insults)
I have to teach you people swears, I just have to.
Interjections (what you say when you stubbed your toe)
Putain = fuck. Literally, a putain is a sex worker, it's a derogatory term we use more as sort of fuck nowadays.
Merde = shit.
Bordel = also fuck, kind of. It can also mean something that's really messy. Something is in bordel when it's messy as shit. Bordel originally means a place where there's sex workers basically. (e.g.: C'est le bordel dans ta chambre! = It's a mess in your room! <- my mother everyday)
Fun fact, you can fuse these insults to make a more powerful insult. Notably,
Putain de merde,
Bordel de merde,
Putain de bordel de merde.
You can also say C'est quoi ce bordel (what is this shit, what the fuck). Or, C'est quoi ce putain de bordel. Of course.
Dégueulasse = disgusting, can both be used independently or as a descriptive term. Rude version of Dégoûtant.
Insults, for people
Pute = now this is the insult for sex worker. Don't use to actually refer to a sex worker unless you want it to be in a derogatory way. Can be used to call someone a slut I guess. Often used between girls as just an insult without the sex worker connotation. Also used to insult people's mom. "Ta mère la pute" means "your mom the prostitute" basically. Rarely meant specifically to say someone's mom's a prostitute, just to insult their mom. And of course, "Fils de pute" shortened to FDP, the Call of Duty voice chat insult, literally Son of a bitch.
Salope = slut/whore
Salopard = salope but man. technically not the same insult because it doesn't have the same connotation, it doesn't have the slut vibes. so salope and salopard can be used for both genders technically, but salope is feminizing and really just means slut while salopard kinda is used in the same way as asshole, especially if it's to insult a coward or someone who betrayed you.
Saloperie = shitty little thing, basically. When a weird bug just landed on my leg I get up in a panic and go what the fuck is this saloperie.
Connard, Conasse = former is masc, latter is fem. Just a general insult. I call my father a connard a lot. Can be used affectionately between close friends if they're that kind of friends.
Bâtard = bastard. Technically masculine (the feminine would be bâtarde) but no one cares, just say bâtard. It's genuinely the same word as in English, one of the words where the ^ is tranformed into a s (hôpital->hospital, hôtel->hostel...)
Enculé = generally masculine, literally sodomized. Not used literally, generally just another way to call someone a dick, but enculer is still a verb, that's used either as getting fucked over or as sodomized.
Trou du cul = hole of the ass~ asshole. We're fancy like that. shortened can be trouduc'. Really not one of the fancy one.
Beurrette = technically not a swear, but it's another derogatory term for sex worker, more specifically used as a way to imply someone's a prostitute. In a bad way obviously. I learnt this word from a weird tomboy I had a crush on in elementary.
Nique ta mère = fuck your mom. Not used literally, godbless, it's mostly to say go fuck yourself. And by the way,
Va te faire foutre = get fucked. the safe for work version is va te faire mettre, which means get done? get put, something like that.
Va te faire enculer = get sodomized specifically. I like this one.
Je m'en bas les couilles = I don't care, I don't give a fuck, literally I'm beating my balls about it. Very extra.
Je m'en branle = same as last one, except branler is a familiar word for to masturbate, so... I'm masturbating about it. Literally. Expression not actually used in a sexual context.
Bite = dick. (pronounced like the word beat) Not used as an insult, but :
Tête de bite = dickhead, actually used as an insult. A bit silly.
French people are susceptible to just put together random insults together to create an interjection if we stubbed our toe very hard.
Merde can be used to insult someone by saying petite merde (little shit, same connotation) grosse merde (fat shit, someone who's REALLY a dick) sale merde (dirty shit, bit more aggressive than the others) in general adding sale (imagine the A in black) in front of an insult can make it worse.
also, démission = resignation. Go yell macron démission with the others if you're in Paris right now it's fun I swear /j. macron explosion is fun too.
I hope you enjoyed whatever this is, if you ever have questions about French do ask I love answering questions about my stupid language.

Astarion Baldurs Gate 3 Isn't A TumblrSexyMan™, He's Just A SexyMan™
I've seen a large number of people, most of whom are in the Astarion Disliker/"I don't get it" camp most who are not on this particular hell site, cite Astarion as Tumblr's latest sexyman. Today, I will be explaining why I do not believe that to be the case. That instead, as the title states, he's just a sexyman.
No real knowledge of the hell site is required, I'll explain things for the new people.
Setting The Definitions
First, definitions because this is now Intro to Writing and Rhetoric. A sexyman would be anyone, usually masc or a man, who is concidered sexy by a wide range of people. Fascinating.
A Tumblr Sexyman, on the other hand, is a thing - usually fictional entity - that is incredibly popular on Tumblr.com to the degree it escapes it's fandom sometimes, in the most extreme of cases, becoming far more popular than it's original fandom. It is characterized by a few major characteristics. Ranging from Twinkism* (be it the character or fan interpretation), generally unconventionally/perceived to be unconventionally attractive in a non physical sense (character traits that wouldn't otherwise be desirable, like absurd behavior or generally evilness), to impeccable drip (either in the original media/design, or done by fans in fanart).
*note: Twinkism (which I did just throw in on the spot this is entirely bullshit for my own amusement) is the phenomenon of skinny, young looking, pretty/feminine white boys who are within media. This is different from twinks, who are understood to be young and skinny - being pretty, popular, or white is not connected. All those who participate in Twinkism are Twinks, but not all Twinks participate in Twinkism.
Does Astarion Baldurs Gate 3 Fit The Definition?
First rule: must be at least a twink. Is he?
No. Yes. Kinda. In a way. Many people would describe Astarion as someone who's gone through "Twink Death". No this is not because he's literally undead. Twink Death, in it's simplest form, is when a twink no longer looks young and/or feminine. Astarion has aged. His crows feet and laugh lines, while beautiful, do not make him look 18. For some this would disqualify him from being a Twink. So perhaps he has failed at the first step.
I, however, am not satisfied with that. Moving on, is Astarion - or would Astarion - actually be considered conventionally unattractive in any way that is disconnected from his appearance? I argue no. Vampires are considered very well, normal to lust after. They're right below succubus on the "This isn't considered weird to find attractive" scale. You aren't romancing The Emperor here. Outside of that he's well groomed, shown to be muscular in game (headcanon does often disagree and while I wish it was true we are working with facts for this specific discussion), and an elf. In personality, while not for everyone, he's the pretty standard fruity sarcastic gay who's a bit selfish. We all know a fruity sarcastic gay who's a bit selfish, and they get laid. So it can't be considered that bad. Probably.
I feel important to note here that I am aroace and have no idea what I'm talking about right now. This is an educated guess.
Astarion has lost now, two for two. He's barely a twink, even going off of his model he's more a twunk. He definitely doesn't fit the Twinkism phenomenon. He's not weird to find attractive, I assume, so what else is there? His drip? I'm sorry, but his base outfit is a bit well Goofy to say the least. Much fanart leaves him in this outfit or a simpler version because drawing ruffles is enough to make anyone want to willingly jump headfirst into the underdark, so he fails the drip test as well.
His final hurtle: is his popularity Tumblr™. In this context Tumblr™ is different from Tumblr. Tumblr™ is the fandom side, where a sexyman would flourish and find their own fandom. Importantly, this fandom needs to be very insular to the site. It's a *Tumblr* sexyman after all. So that begs the question, is Astarion highly liked by mostly or purely Tumblr people/those who have the vibes of a Tumblr user? No.
Astarion is well loved by many people of various vibes. He has affected (previously) straight men on Reddit. Few can escape him and his 10 charisma.
Conclusion
Astarion is just a sexyman. He's just a fictional character that many think is neat and attractive for a variety of reasons. He's the Ryan Reynolds of crpgs. He's some dude, who's generally considered attractive by a lot of people who you both would and wouldn't expect to find him attractive.

I absolutely love your chubby!Steve series!
I think partly because it challenges the fckng fatphobia my family has raised me with, acting like anyone who doesn't "fit" into their clothes anymore is fat and that's bad. Which *i* think is fckng stupid. I'm personally more at ease with my body. While being skinny (always was) ... ever since puberty or hitting my 20s I'm not a stick figure. I have some curves and while that's really nice if you feel comfortable in a woman's body - i've been struggling with gender and my little tummy fat, my thighs, my ass and always felt too feminine. I know I have a nice body (I feel strange about saying that) but in my eyes it's a lot of femme sexy not masc sexy. If it makes sense. But to get to the point 😂 I think your series has helped me too with reevaluating my depiction of whats masc and what's femme. And also how curves on men are hot and good and beautiful.
I'm obviouely not 100% there and probably won't ever be. But it helped a tiny bit! So pleaaaaaase never stop!! It's so good!
I really hope this all makes sense
(at first I wanted to make this anon but I'm gonna be brave about it! And yes it would be okay posting this publicly. But you can also answer if you want, privately)
hello friend!! ty for being brave and sending this! im so so so glad you’re enjoying them!!!
sorry i’m only just answering this too i kept thinking about what i wanted to say bc i never expected these stories to cause these kinds of thoughts. but it’s so cool!!
there is something so interesting about the way androgyny is so connected to thinness. and curves with femininity. like i saw an insta reel and this girl was doing butch outfit inso but she was a bigger, curvy woman and it kinda blew my mind like id never seen it before! they looked great!!
like masculinity and femininity is performance but i totally get the frustration of like having to counteract your ‘base’ in order to perform the way you feel most comfortable. if that makes sense. like i so often want a t-shirt to fit me like it would a skinny skater boy but i also think i look pretty hot naked haha and i know that’s me with my traditionally ‘feminine’ body shape. so i feel like i get what ur saying? sorry if i’m way off
but yeah i’m also sorry you’ve been struggling with your gender i hope it hasn’t been too dysphoric for you!
its just really interesting that you’ve sent me this tho. when thinking about like, how everyone interprets art differently. like, i honestly just started writing them bc i find bigger people really attractive. i wasn’t really trying to say anything about fat phobia but i totally see how it’s all connected. like i just think bellies are hot and i find peoples chests hot, like, boobs or pecs, whatever, its just a really nice, beautiful area. so i kinda wanted to just get that attraction out in writing because im trying to be less embarrassed about what turns me on. maybe that's why i write eddie so goofy, thats me still being a little embarrassed but also just maybe makes it all more accessible to people. idk.
but yeah i guess it’s just nice to talk about different body types, especially with such a traditional american male character like steve. i’ve just never found like a six pack very attractive, personally. i find strength and curves and softness and bigness really nice so idk i hope i’m giving a little more representation to that.

(Regarding the girl post) So sort of like a, "I know you're a man, but look at how this dress accentuates your curves, how well you fill out this frilly lingerie, how soft and pretty and feminine you look all fattened up" situation?
Yeah kind of?
"Look at how fat and curvy you're getting, you almost look like a girl. We should make you up, grow your hair out, get you in nice body hugging dresses" etc. Being turned into someone's fat girl despite being a boy and maybe liking it like that
I think it's just a lot of complicated gender thoughts, especially as a trans guy who is 100% secure in being a masc dude. I guess I have a lot of fantasies where I get more molded into something that someone else wants me to be and getting aroused by it so probably fits into that! And again, cannot stress enough that it's not a detrans "you're a fakeboy and I'll correct you and make you a pretty girl again" kinda thing (no shame to trans ppl into exploring that, it's just not for me at all) like it's not a denial of a trans man's gender, it's seeing the potential for a curvy fat girl in a man, same way you would for a cis man if that makes sense?
And it's not something I'd ever consider doing in real life because I think it would probably make me uncomfortable, but in fantasy it's just a fun thing to explore

Idkkk the whole being a boy thing is weird like it sounds so stupid but now i feel like i have to like present more masc than i actually want and having to do it just makes me feel like. itchy and dysphoric. like i feel less dysphoric in a skirt than i would in idk. a pair of khakis or whatever normie dudes wear. and it's not a thing of like ohhh i don't have the body for this or whatever it just genuinely feels wrong.
and it's like yeah a lot of people will get what i mean by that bc i'm just. a feminine guy it's like pretty common but a lot of people won't and it's so stupid. like when i was about to hang w that girl thursday i decided against wearing a skirt or a bralette or having mascara on (if i did any of those she would have gotten it i think tho) and it kinda sucks that i feel pressure to do that now. i don't think it would be as bad if i like didn't enjoy sex as much but when ur always meeting new ppl it's kinda guaranteed that some of them will assume dumb things ab u. idk at least i have a mustache so they can tell i'm sorta gendered. tbh i'm so deeply ambivalent about t too like when i go on it it won't be a gender thing i think more hair would be fun but like outside of that i feel ab it the same way i feel ab dyeing my hair a diff color... Idk whatever mine is the kind of thing that most trans ppl would get at the very least
Ok post cancelled someone just propositioned me by asking if i wanted to listen to hyperpop with them

Diastine
Tumblr media
An umbrella term for genders that could be considered “between” Outherine/Aporine and Xenine. This can include any gender that shares qualities of both abinary/atrinary genders and xenogenders, without explicitly being either.
Diastine can include genders that:
Genders relating to both human and non-human/abstract relations to genders. This can include genders that are partly attributed to feelings typically considering masculine/feminine/aporine/outherine/etc, however may be in abstract ways. Includes genders that non-xenine+xenine.
Are related to things typically not attributed to gender in general society, such as plants, animals, concepts, colors, etc. However, this is only genders that are connected in some way to these things, where one’s gender isn’t literally these things. This includes genders that are usually seen as xenogender/xenic, however may not always be seen/experienced as such. (See next bullet point)
With genders relating to abstract concepts, these genders use the qualities these things have which can lay within and outside human constructions of gender. Basically genders that describe the qualities of one gender, how one’s gender feels compared to a thing in nature, concept, media, etc. without necessarily being xenine or a xenogender, as it describes qualities vs one’s gender in itself. Depending on the person, these types of genders may either feel non-xenine or xenine, or perhaps both as these genders share qualities of non-xenine and xenine genders. (An example of this could be a feminine gender relating to a fox, as one’s gender has both qualities of femininity, and qualities usually prescribed to foxes in one’s mind.)
In general, genders that can be described as being both abinary/atrinary and a xenogender, yet possibly also being neither. These types of genders are usually felt as their own thing vs under a certain subset of gender identity.
The examples above aren’t all what the Diastine label can cover, however they exist to give you an idea of what could be includes under this label.
.
The name “Diastine” comes from the root word “Dia” meaning through/between/apart/across, which I feel any of those could fit how one experiences being Diastine, or genders that may fit under what this term was coined to describe. “(a)st” comes from the word “Vast” as this term was coined to cover a vast amount of experiences, (I also couldn’t really think of anything else due to what I was originally gonna call this term got yoinked, and I kinda wanted to pay homage to the original name), plus the suffix “-ine”, which I see it pretty common to use for genders like this so using it also.
.
The in-nature term would be DIASIN (Diastine-In-Nature).
Diastous / Diaine / Distine — The adjective equivalent form of Diastine. Could be used to describe terms that aren’t Diastine but have similar qualities. Can be used to describe any type of identity with these qualitites. (Similar in usage to masculine/feminine/aethine/aporine/outherine/xenine/etc) Could be shortened to "Dia".
Diastinity — The diastous equivalent to masculinity/femininity/etc.
Diastic / Diasic — Diastine-alignment/aligned. Similar to aethic, xenic, kenic, masc, fem, etc.
Diast / Diastan — Equivalent to man/woman/enban/etc. The plural form being Diasts or Diasten.
Asti — Equivalent to boy/girl/enby/etc. The plural form being Astis.
Transdiastous / Transdiaine / Transdistine — Transitioning towards a diastous/diaine/distine identity. Includes those with at least partly (or fully) diastous/diaine/distine identity. May refer to gender, presentation, or both.
.
This term was originally coined October 7th, 2022. The bright-colored flag below the cut is the original/main flag, the flag shown above is a new alternative one.
Anyways yeah similar to Anthidial, I coined this to help others fill spaces in terminology one can use. Similar to Anthidial, Diastine shouldn’t be applied to pre-existing terms without permissions of the coiners. If unknown (or unable to contact coiners) one could simply note that the gender could possibly be considered Anthidial.
I just wanted to coin a term to fill that weird fuzzy space between Outherine genders and Xenogenders. Like with Anthidial, this was mostly inspired by Kenochoric and Luxine, like-wise all the other concept-related neogenders that aren’t Xenogenders. Just a word/tool coiners can use when describing genders.
While Diastine may cover pre-existing genders, that doesn’t automatically make those genders Diastine. They simply share qualities that could be described by the Diastine term. I’m all for the “this isn’t a [x] gender” however when it comes to archiving something that shares a lot of qualities with something else, I’d advocate for the adjustment from “this is a [x] gender” to “this gender shares qualities typically seen in [x] gender(s)”
I’ll all for gender umbrellas, and I’m all for unique genders not under any other umbrella. However when it comes to someone who found a gender like that and wanted to know more about similar genders, they’d have a hard time (or possibly impossible depending on the terminology the original coiner used) finding similar genders, especially if one has no clue what types of genders to even search for.
Anthidial and Diastine have been coined to help with that. Instead of incorrectly labeling certain terms as things they aren’t, these terms are tools to help both coiners and archivers alike to shift from “this is an [x] gender” to “this gender under no certain umbrella, but shares qualities of [x] and [x] genders” this allows for more flow between terms, and to allow folks to pin-point what actual aspect of certain genders they’re connected to. At least, that’s what I’m trying to get at by coining these lol.
Tumblr media
Below this DNI is a cut, underneath the cut is where I put flags that may trigger eye strain, migraines, etc. due to colors or stripe patterns. (When I'm able to make an alternative flag) Proceed with caution if you struggle with anything like that.

Katherine comes out as a trans man and immediately dives into being masculine for Once because for so long he’s been shoved into femininity and finally now he gets to do away with the whole thing and present how he wants to! Once he’s settled down into his gender and gets more comfortable, he does get back into certain feminine things (makeup, jewelry, frilly clothes) but stays mostly on the masc side of things
Gem comes out as transmasc and kinda looks at his gender presentation and goes ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. They still keep their hair long and wear dresses and all, but also he binds and plans on taking T and stuff. He still really loves presenting femininely and being a pretty boy, it’s kind of their whole vibe
Pirate Joe has been out as a trans man for literally years now and is mostly masculine but has settled into himself enough to be comfortable being feminine. Sometimes he wears dresses and skirts, most days he does makeup or paints his nails, he’s not the most masculine-behaving man out there. But that’s just the way he does things and he’s got a gun if you’ve any problem with it
