can you imagine being Essek and watching this tiefling on a total power trip turn into a 10 feet tall--incredibly ripped??--god and kill the boy you're catching feelings for?? And brand you with some kind of evil cursed hivemind magic you're worried might corrupt you forever?? This thing that your friends swear was once family, but all you see is something monstrous and otherworldly and tearing himself apart at the seams, screaming when all their loved ones call out to him??

Just. the way it must have felt to see Lucien go from that to. Just the most sweet and affectionate little tiefling. Gentle and curious and so full of joy and wonder. He's got the brightest smile and warm eyes and this mischievous playfulness. He runs off at first--startled, scared. But then once he's calmed, the first real word he says other than Empty is Love. And right after that he calls out for his Magician, for this man who did everything he could to save him, held him close and kissed him so tenderly on the forehead--

And Caleb throws his arms around Essek and Veth and just watches the Nein all descend on Tealeaf and embrace him amidst laughter and tears and Molly's starting to smile again and Caleb's so so happy just to see him finally alive and.

In that moment, Essek understands why they came all this way--

#it is so so fascinating to me that deuces and ess knew lucien fIRST and i am so intrigued by how that would color their perception of #tealeaf when he's reborn #but also #there's something beautiful to me about seeing someone who you can't help seeing as a villain and a 'monster' just...finally break free #from these chains and become so warm and full of joy and love #seeing lucien melt as this gente affectionate tiefling who brings beau and yasha flowers and who gave everyone tiefling virtue names #also the implications of tealeaf calling the two members of the nein he doesnt recognize 'Empty'--deciding that theyre new #blank cards in the deck just waiting to be filled-- #anyway sorry this was in my drafts and im just going through them now so heres this--

Ahh, good question. By drafts do you mean WIPs? If so, I really only have one active WIP at the moment, because the other stuff I've been working on are all...complete. 😁

I'll give proper announcements for these soon, but here's what I have lined up (these are written and ready to go):

Take Me Home:

Just released Part 7 today! Parts 8 and 9 on our regularly scheduled program this week.

A Good Man Is Hard to Find:

I'll release the full summary for this after TMH Part 9. I don't want to give away the plot just yet. 😉 But it will take place shortly after the end of the series.

Calculated Risks:

A one-shot in the Break Me Down verse that I've teased before, but I'm planning on properly announcing it after all TMH stuff wraps up.

And last but not least...

The WIP I'm currently working on is a BMD mini-series. It's almost done. I have one more chapter to write, and I'm very excited about announcing it soon! 😘💚

shut up im thinking abt loquatious' final speech again. such a small detail is that he mispronounces zerxus' name. which is fine, hell he did it with his own name in the first episode's broadcast. but theres something about this one.

zerxus has made a Deal, and if anyone in the ring of brass knows something about deals itd be our faerie warlock. and i think about vespin chloras, whos wish to not be forgotten was granted by being remembered as the worst villain in history. and i think about how loquatious tells laerryn "history is not true". and how faerie and devilish lore both share a belief in the importance of names.

and yeah, its probably not that deep. but maybe, just maybe, it was loquatious' way of protecting his friend from the march of history flattening a person's identity into a word on a sheet of paper.
