So, uh. I got to do a thing last weekend.

Yes, that's the set in Bathgate. I was one of 75 people who won a contest to go visit. We had an amazing afternoon getting shown around. The level of detail was beyond even my wildest dreams. We had drinks inside Give Me Coffee Or Give Me Death and got to sit inside the Dirty Donkey pub to be shown episode 2.1. I very very much want to babble about all of it but have been threatened with Extreme Sanctions and am restraining myself until after Friday at least.

...but after that I am going to babble so much about that record shop in particular because it's FANTASTIC. Not even in spoilery ways, just in "Ohhhh they had so much fun making this and I love it" ways.

The Amazon Prime and Good Omens crew who were there that day were absolutely amazing, they took incredible care of us and had so much enthusiasm for the show. We met up with the set designer Michael (edit: had his last name wrong) (in the bookshop! I've been in the bookshop!!!), costume designer Kate Carin, lead decorator Bronwyn Franklin, the head of the graphics design whose name I can't remember for certain which kills me because talking to them was the highlight of the day and I want to sing their praises (Edit: Mickey!), and several of the producers, as well as numerous unnamed generally helpful awesome people who were there to keep us from licking the books (sigh). If any of them spot this from @goodomensonprime: thank you!!

And yes, for those of you who've been following stories of my 8yo the comic-drawing fellow GO addict, she's never going to forgive me for doing this without her. Sorry, sweetheart, but it was 18+. (I'm getting her one of the t-shirts to make up for it)

I UPDATE TWO I

I'll continue yesterday's update! c:

So I got a taster of the blueberry cheesecake, which was very delicious, and then I asked if he would like a bite of my pie. (or maybe a bite of me?) lol Then he quite brazenly imitated my polite question "may I taste it?" as if he was teasing me...🙄 Anyway, we had such a good talk afterwards, luckily I managed to calm down, you know at the beginning I'm always very embarrassed, but then I see how direct he is with me and he makes nice jokes, so this helps me to calm down and try to give myself. I also told him that I don't have to pretend to myself with him and I'm glad to have such a person in my life. I meant this as a compliment, but he looked at me so seriously and said to me: "You shouldn't pretend to be anyone, because you're good the way you are, I like who you are and I'm sure others people would like it too."

I know he didn't say it in a romantic way, but it felt so good and I just said it: "I like who you are too, I think you are a wonderful teacher and a great person, I like your classes!"

I would have actually said that I love you, but I couldn't do that. He ruffled my hair as usual like a little child while saying that he would end up blushing if I said such things to him. (ohh..oh😳) We sat in the cafe for about two hours after he had to go on, so we walked out of the cafe and thank goodness I remembered the gift in time, bc that's actually why we met, so before we said goodbye I quickly gave him and I said: "Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, thank you for your support and thank you for everything"

After that, I watched excitedly as he looked into the package, then I saw him happy and looked up at me and said: "A bracelet?"

I nodded violently and said that since I could see that he liked to wear jewelry, I thought he would like it.

and guess what, the end is THE BEST!🤧🤧🤧 Everything happened so fast that I couldn't even react in time, but suddenly he walked towards me and hugged me and said thank you very much and happy new year. He smelled so good, as did his hoodie, which I still have in my room. After that, I turned back several times after we said goodbye and I think everyone on the bus looked stupid bc I was grinning so much.

I think it was the best way to end the year and I can't wait to see him again next year. <3

Not only did I find 4 miracle whoopie cushions today on my walk to work but my teens liked my jokes about them so much they actually admitted to me that they think all my jokes are funny (I've always assumed they think I'm a very embarrassing mom) and they said today the first thing they asked each other when they got home from school was whether the other had seen my stories and how funny they were. Like this might actually be the best day of my life.

And last week I decided to stop being so mad about all the trash in my neighbourhood (I walk to work and there is thick litter everywhere) and I turned it into a game for myself where I'd scan the trash for weird bits and think about the possible narratives behind them. So for fortune to smile on me so generously today, letting me find mint condition whoopie cushions (still in the package!)...

And I had also convinced a bunch of my coworkers to clean up the trash with me on Earth Day, and today I got to INSPIRE them by finding an example of the perfect garbage treasure!!

Like I'll remember this as a personally historic day thanks to some whoopie cushions a windstorm blew in.
